High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

Great taste, great service, enjoyable experience. Sauce bar is pretty cool as well. Big fry portions, burgers cooked to order, full after one burger. Worth my money spent. Cheers

My favorite spot for burgers. The sweet potato fries with marshmallows sauce are the best.

For the price, definitely one of the better burgers you can get in the Tampa Bay area. The burgers are well crafted, cooked to order, tasty buttery buns and just darn right juicy-good burgers. They have a good variety of burgers to choose from too. This last time we went there, they had a new special burger that was very unique and really good. It was like a tater-tot/hash-brown burger with a scallion mayo sauce. But my favorite at Burger 21 is the Philly Cheese Steak Burger. It is so good. Trust me, get it. Also highlights of Burger 21 are you can get either regular fries or sweet potatoe fries. You can even have the choice to have a combo of the two. And there is a ketchup bar with like 6 different ketchups (and honey mustard) that makes for a cool experience and nice taste to the fries. They also have other non-red meat options there; like salads, chicken fingers, veggie burgers, turkey & tuna burgers, sandwiches, etc. But haven't tried those options yet; so can't say how they taste. But I have had their shakes, and there are really good as well. Nice, simple black & white two-tone design inside. With what seems to always be a hodge-podge of good music playing in the background. I've heard some 80's New Wave along with early/mid-90s pop songs there. I thought was pretty cool and funny. Staff has always been friendly. An order-at-the-register/counter, they then bring your food to your table. Only complaint about this, is that a few times my fries have come out sort of cold. Love this place, love their burgers even more. You will too. Attention Burger 21 - please expand to the Temple Terrace area.

I'm familiar with another location, so when my date suggested this location for our date night, I agreed. After all, Its right across the street from B&N. What could be better? We arrived and walked in, after a few minutes to look at the paper menu, we placed our orders: He got the Bacon cheese burger, I got the Black & Blue wedge salad and we shared an order of fries. The one thing that we noticed is that He ordered his burger med. Well, and what he got was a burger that was unevenly cooked. One half was cooked appropriately, the other half was more med. rare. And this is.. while not fine, it was ok. We figured that the burger must have been on the edge of the grill. My salad was quite tasty, three small blackend slider patties served in a bowl, atop a large serving of lettuce, diced tomato, bacon and bleu cheese, drizzled with ranch dressing. THe portion was large and very filling. The tables hadn't been bussed in some time, so finding a clean table was hard, but finally someone came out and cleaned off the ones that were filled with dirty plates and what have you, opening up tables for people to sit at. The employees who work there, Especiall Jason (Tall blonde guy who was at register and bussing tables) Were especially friendly.

Yum! We were heading up north Tampa and needed to stop off somewhere en route for a quick dinner. I'm vegetarian and my boyfriend is definitely not so we frequently have an issue finding a place where I have options (more than a salad). I found this place while using yelp's app and we were definitely pleased. The vegetarian black bean burger was delicious though it did immediately fall apart due to the TWO sauces and avocado slices. My boyfriend very much enjoyed his burger. We split some sweet potato fries, which I really enjoyed. They had beers which was a nice option to have in addition to the soda fountain. I saw they had shakes which looked very sinful! Also to note: They have a selection of different ketchups. This is a "quick serve" restaurant. You place your order at the counter and they bring it to your table.

First time here. Ordered the Ahi Tuna Burger. My friend got the Shroom Burger. Both were very good. I had half regular fries/half sweet potato fries (which are delicious dipped in the marshmallow sauce). My only complaint is that our food could have been a little hotter, but I think it was just because the temp in the place was really cold that our food cooled off too fast.

I love the concept. The fries are good and the sauce bar is unique. I wish the bread were to be upgraded; it sometimes doesn't hold up as well as it should.

I wanted a really good burger that wasn't like fast food McCrappy burgers so I searched the internet and found this place. I had driven by it on countless occasions so I gave this place a try. I got the Shroom burger and fries to go since I was alone and there was nothing special about the ambiance. Nothing bad, though, I want to make that clear. It was clean and good looking. The staff were friendly and I had a nice chat with a couple of them while my order was getting ready. I got home and chowed down. Very, very good burger, the fries are good, too, but not as goo as the burger. Gonna go again soon and try a different kinda burger.

'Twas a Friday afternoon and the office was bare. Not a sales rep was typing; no e-mails to share. Burger 21 was filled with our staff, for a big meaty burger only experts could craft. We ordered and sat down and what did appear? Culinary excellence to go with my beer! The beer part was false, but if I have just one charge, acquire a license for the franchise to grow large. The food was exquisite and so was the service; my waitress was confident and not at all nervous. 4 stars is your rating because I can't give a half...add that beer list and a five thou shalt have!** **The rating is five now, I do declare. A cooler of Craft Brews greeted me there. Twas an error of judgment on my review, for that I will have to keep visiting you!

The quality of food here FAR SURPASSES other, local burger joints. Quite frankly, I have no clue how Burgermonger is rated higher. I am a low carb guy, which means I eat burgers without the bun. You'd be amazed at how bread can cover the taste of mediocre hamburgers. The beef here is so clean and tasty, you don't need a bun or even condiments. They will also cook the beef to your liking- even rare- which shows a great deal of confidence in their product and their cooks. Five Guys, In-N-Out, and Burgermonger all trail Burger 21 in taste and quality. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

I love this place!! The store is always clean and the staff are always nice! I love that they have so many different toppings\sauces that you can try. My go to is the marshmallow one..its yummy with the sweet potato fries. My 2 fave things that I always get: Sweet Potato Fries and the The Cobb Turkey Burger!! The milkshakes are amazing too if your in the mood for something sweet :)

Been here several times its always been bright and clean. The food is of good quality, its what i call upscale burgers, better but more expensive than macdonals they offer 2 types of fries. Regular or sweet potato fries. If you haven't had sweet potato fries give them a try. My only observation is the rather cheap plastic chairs at the tables. The booths have comfortable seating but the table seating is a little hard.

All of us have places that we really want to like more than we actually do...and this continues to be one of them for me. I keep trying different Burger 21 locations hoping to find something on their menu to rave about and today was a visit to this one on North Dale Mabry. The employees here were the highlight of my visit. Everyone was smiling, keeping busy, jumping in when something needed to be done and got my order 100% correct. You can also tell by the cleanliness of the restaurant and the sauce bar that there's a good, honest work ethic in this place. It is just the food itself that continues to underwhelm me, no matter what I seem to order. Their salads taste fresh, but lack flavor and quantity of ingredients. Their burgers taste good, but patties still have that cookie cutter shape which screams frozen product. Their turkey chili is very tasty, but there's just not enough of it even if you order the bowl, which is the largest size yet seems smaller than any "bowl" of soup or chili I order just about anywhere else. I've had a shake from Burger 21 on a previous visit to a different location, and while it was good at the time...I've never even considered going back for another. Admittedly, I've never had their fries. So perhaps next visit, I'll just try some of those, order a beer, attack the sauce bar and see if that does the trick. (Although fries alone just doesn't seem like enough of a reason to make a place a destination. Unless it is Poutine or what you New Jersey apologists call "Disco Fries.") Trust me, I get the concept. Then again, seems like Steak N Shake has been doing it longer, offers a drive-thru, is open 24 hours and has a better overall product at a lower price.

I don't know how anyone could not like burger 21. It's fast food at star quality. Burgers, shakes, fries are all to die for. Their "skinny" turkey burger is nothing short of divine, as well. And you can get it with a leaf of lettuce instead of a bun or on a salad to be low carb/low calorie if you prefer. Great for a lunch break or group outing. And those sauces! Try them all from the sauce bar! I dare you! I just wish their online menu would tell me the measured fats, carbs and protein of the burgers without the buns!

  • Nikki A.

I love the fact that it is exceedingly clean inside Burger 21. My favorite thing in the whole place is the sauce bar. I am a big fan of the Chipotle Mayo. The burger options (beef, seafood, chicken, turkey, and veggie) seem endless. I can highly recommend the Ahi Tuna Burger: Panko-crusted and lightly fried tuna, lettuce, tomato, sriracha aioli (say that three times fast), caramel soy, avocado, and pickled cucumbers. Yes, please. I have heard good things about the milkshakes, those treats are next on my list to try.

The BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES and any flavor cookie ever! I'm not kidding....YOU can't leave there without buying a cookie or 4! I eat it standing right there in line while I place my order and fill my soda cup. Dessert before dinner, life is too short to wait! And I just can't! Ok....now that I got that out of the way and out of my system...let's move on here. I love their regular fries much better than the sweet potato fries BUT ordering a combo of both is brilliant. Why have to choose one or the other?!? Get the combo! I ALWAYS get the black and blue 3 pack slider burgers. Used to be a 4 pack and now it's 3....totally no big deal to me. It's on HAWAIIAN sweet bread folks!!!! Score! The blue cheese and bacon is perfect and always cooked perfectly well Like I ask! The staff n servers are always friendly n helpful n sometimes give me my cookie warm straight from the oven if it's cookie bake time! A manager handed me a few free sundae coupons once just because of my gushing n carrying on over my love for their cookies! I still haven't used them if u want one.....I can't seem to get past ordering my usual n being too stuffed after to even consider a sundae!

Sooooooo good!!!! Barbecue burger was delicious. Highly recommend the sweet potato fries. The salad my daughter ordered was fresh. Download the app for a free cheeseburger. Great food at a great value.

I like the concept of this place, so I was surprised upon check-in to see that they got average reviews. They keep it simple: mostly burgers and shakes. There are some good options, including veggie burgers, chicken burgers, and turkey burgers. I got the skinny turkey burger with avocado (upcharge). It was a little smaller than expected and kind of bland. Perhaps my expectations were too high. Not bad though, and it was "skinny" so I should have known what I was going for! You can't argue with lower cal plus I'm just happy they have veg and non-beef options. Also, good service with really nice girls working there. According to their website, 10% of the sales on the 21st of each month go to charity. That's a good reason to come back on the 21st next time.

Love this place, my burger was huge. Service was fast, outside seating, and the wait staff check on your periodically.

It was nice to eat there, is clean, the staff is polite and they do have good burgers and delicious shakes. I was not a fan of none of their fries styles but definitely we will come back there.

I have a gluten allergy and sometimes it's hard to find a good burger restaurant that caters to me. Burger 21 is it! Their gluten free burger was the best I have ever had! Sweet potato fries were awesome too! Remember to add a shake too. Great lunch!

Great and creative burgers - the Chicken Parmesan is my favorite and my boyfriend's is the Bacon Cheesy. Always seems to be busy and has good reason to be. Shakes are also amazing - you can delay the shake to pick up after your meal (to go!). Large selection of different ketchups though I am a classicist when it comes to condiments. :) Definitely worth a visit!

Well, this burger place has plenty of room inside and out, a friendly staff, a great condiment bar, and a good variety of food. I had the monthly special the Bayou burger. It consisted of ground turkey & andouille sausage atop a crispy coleslaw and topped with well seasoned spicy shrimp and a fiery Chipotle mayonaise. The burger was GREAT, but the bun fell apart, that was a real pain & mess. I usually go for a beef burger, but this one had my name on it. I had to try the Bayou burger & am glad I did. The fries were small, well cooked and not greasy. I see the positives of this restaurant. The down side to the restaurant starts with standing in line to order, only small overpriced mini bottles of wine, buns were stale and not toasted. If you have a great bun it shouldn't have to be toasted, not the case at Burger 21. The inside is all white, very sterile feeling and looking and no cocktails or onion rings. My allegiance remains with Square One. What's a girl to do? Keep trying and looking for the best of the best.

You don't even have to like red meat to thoroughly enjoy a juicy, mouth-watering burger at Burger 21. The menu offers a little something for everyone, including gluten free hamburger buns and tasty little skinny fries. Thought everything was delicious and had a very good first experience!

Great service... amazing gluten free burgers.. the only thing I'd wish for is almond or coconut shakes instead of milk... but we will definitely come back!!!

I do love me some Burger 21!!!! Service at the ordering counter could be improved, but it was not horrible. This place was clean and the staff friendly! I ordered the BBQ Bacon Burger. Could not complain it was good and very filling. The fires were as good as they always are. The service outside was fantastic. They anticipated our needs for boxes and to take away our old plates.

Burger 21 was ok, but the service was horrendous. The register chick seemed bothered that I was ordering from their menu. Then after I ordered for my wife and I, we were rudely ushered to the side. Had to ask for my drink cup which seemed to p.o. the register chick even more., yet she did not forget to charge me for my meal with out hesitation. We got our meals, wife's fries were forgotten. We kindly asked for them, were told the would come out soon. 25 minutes later,no fries. By that time we were ready to go. Told manager/employee of problem and wanted a refund for the fries that weren't given was told it would take three days to recieve refund. Was given a b21 $21 gift card for our next visit but will not be coming back and will definitely be spreading the word of this shitty staffed place. My wife and I have always talked about going here and were totally let down. I know the fries are really a petty thing to judge a place on,but for me its the quality of staff and service a place has that determines my business. If you want a quality burger place 5 guy's is my recommendation.

I'm glad I came here again. I didn't even realize they had salads until I heard about it on the radio. I came back and had a really good grilled chicken cobb salad. The romaine was very fresh and very crispy. The chicken was tender and the honey mustard dressing was very nice. I found a new salad place!

  • Mahdy S.

Burger was juicy, but not the best out there. Sauce bar is pretty cool and includes Thai ketchup and mayo chipotle to name a few. Half and half fries (half regular and half sweet potato) were kind of bland. Three stars overall because they messed up my order even after reading it back to me. I noticed the same happened to at least two other customers while I was there. Service is decent, but nothing spectacular.

I have been to both Burger 21 locations in Tampa. These are the ones in Westchase and on Dale Mabry. In both locations, the staff is always very courteous and very helpful. Their menu includes multiple kinds of burgers, appealing to meat lovers, chicken lovers, seafood lovers and vegetarians. They have both regular potato fries and sweet potato fries, which I personally prefer over the regular potato fries. Every time I eat there, I am never disappointed. They have both a regular and a separate gluten-free menu. They have scrumptious desserts. They are very family-friendly. They also have various kinds of hot dogs. They are my favorite place to eat burgers and hot dogs.

The options of protein as well as toppings and sauces make this place like no other I've ever experienced. While I miss the burger joints on every corner in LA, CA, this place is definitely more gourmet and satisfies my longing for burgers in LA. We've tried several different concoctions and have loved everything we've gotten from here. The marshmallow sauce for the sweet potato fries is amazing, as is the cheese ale sauce for the regular fries. The quality of everything is very good and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because even though their regular fries are good, they could be better by leaving the skins on. Indulge, use your creativity and enjoy!

Mmmmm.... Burgers are sooo yummy, and their beverages are delish as well! Fast food that is not the usual gross mess. Upscale burger joint, but still quick service.

Great Burgers! Their fries are awesome! I decided to have a root beer float which was amazing and easier to squeeze in with my meal than a milk shake would have been. Even though I have heard their shakes are pretty good! What I love most about Burger21 is all the awesome dipping sauces they offer for your fries and for your burger as well i suppose. It is a good burger joint. The one in Orlando has a better feel to it and it also feels cleaner.

This place has an awesome list of gourmet burgers and milkshakes, with new monthly specials to keep you coming back for more. I love the sweet potato fries and the sauce bar is loaded with everything sweet and savory for whatever your taste buds desire. I find the burgers can be way too salty here, and the milkshakes are very rich, but very good. Four stars because burger monger just up the street has won my loyalty and vote for better quality over B21. It's a pretty close call, though.

Tampa has plenty of hand-crafted specialty burger places, and I'm sorry to say that Burger 21 did not live up to my expectations in comparison to the other spots around town. B21 is located along Dale Mabry Highway in the heart of Carrollwood. There's a second location in Westchase along Linebaugh Avenue, a third location in New Tampa, and a fourth spot in Lakeland. The restaurants are sleek and modern with shiny metallic interiors and furnishings. The menu has about ten different pre-planned burger combinations, all made with fresh, certified Angus beef. In addition they offer Spicy Thai Shrimp and Ahi Tuna burgers, Black Bean and Greek Veggie burgers, and several chicken and turkey burger options. You can either order one of their pre-planned combinations, or custom build your own burger. B21's also has chicken tenders, hot dogs, and salads, along with a gluten-free menu. They have traditional french fries, fries with cheese and ale sauce, and sweet potato fries. You'll also find a wide selection of handmade milkshakes, sundaes, and cookies, along with sodas, beer and wine. You'll find plenty of interior seating, and they also have an outdoor patio where you can sit with your pooch and share a burger. One of my favorite parts of Burger 21 is their infamous sauce bar, where you can squirt out a serving of flavored mayonnaise-based savory or sweet dipping sauces for your fries. For my dinner tonight I ordered the Tex-Mex Haystack burger which was a 6 ounce Angus Beef pattie cooked up with lettuce, tomato, applewood-smoked bacon, Gouda cheese, guacamole, onion strings, chipolte-jalapeno sauce, and served on a toasted brioche bun. To that I ordered a regular-sized (single serving) of french fries. The burger with all of the trimmings was delicious. Unfortunately the bun-to-burger ratio (Is there really such a thing?) was heavily in favor of the bun, and that's too bad because I got a mouthful of bun, and not enough burger in each bite. I ended up discarding the top bun, and eating the remainder of the burger with a knife and fork. For an $8 burger I expected better. The fries were so-so. Pretty bland with the seasoning, and frankly cold and limp. Not the most appetizing fries I've ever eaten. The dipping sauce covered a multitude of sins, but I would have preferred hot fries with more taste to them. Oh well, these are my observations, and your experience will probably be different. I just can't get excited about a $15 dinner of mediocrity.

So far in previous visits I had only tried their excellent burgers (the Southwest in particular with its frief onion straws) and really great cheese fries (Cheese and Ale fries with bacon) both of which I can recommend (although the fries are best shared with 3 or 4 people). Tonight though we went just for sweets and I was not disappointed. My bananas foster shake was unique and had a strong banana taste that did not disappoint with pleasant cinnamon combo and a caramelized banana garnish. The B split sundae though was amazing. One large scoop of high quality vanilla ice cream separates two dipping sauces - strawberry with real fruit and high quality chocolate with pineapple. Two caramelized banana slices completed this treat perfectly. Definitely a share for two people.

Best burger by far! Tex-Mex Haystack blew my mind (and possibly my diet lol). This burger behemoth has lettuce, tomato, applewood-smoked bacon, Gouda, guacamole, onion strings, and chipotle-jalapeño sauce, stuffed inside a toasted brioche bun. Super friendly and fun place with outdoor seating, too! Highly recommended.

Great selection of burgers! Pretty busy for a Thursday evening, but the service was friendly and fast. Clean amd modern setup inside. Variety of signature shake selections. Two staff members approached me at different times to see how my meal was, which I thought was great. Will be a repeat customer.

I must say I am impressed. Delicious fresh juicy chicken fingers. Best ever, actually. Fries are good, but nothing to write home about. The kids were very happy with fingers, burgers, fries and sundaes. Great sauce bar. Friendly service and even visits from the manager. Great swanky environment!

I love the burgers, my boyfriend and I get the cheesy burger and fries and they are really yummy! The only time I had a problem with them is when I wanted my hamburger well done and I took two bites and saw it was pink inside so I asked for it to be sent back, politely of course because I know accidents happen. The cook asked if it was not well done enough for me in a rude tone which I nicely explained it wasn't because there was still pink. The cook brought it out it was cut in half as if to show that this time it really was done, I took one bite and it was disgusting! They obviously squeezed all the juices out and it was just tough.

We love Burger 21! Been here several times now and they don't disappoint. Prices are very fair. We love the bacon cheesy burger and the shoestring fries are great! Facilities are always neat and clean and staff is very friendly and attentive. This place is definately worth a try if you haven't been.

Disgusting shrimp burger. It's pretty much a frozen patty, heated up, and thrown on a bun. I ate 1/4 of the patty(if that) and just ate the bun. Sweet potatoe fries(rather sticks) were ok. Never again.

The burger was good!! Much better than Five Guys!! The French fries not so good. I won't complain as they were free. About the same as McDonalds. My fries were cold but it was taken care of. The sauce bar was not really a big deal. A little overpriced! Best to go during the week when there are specials!

There is a definite need for regular management presence in the dining area. While only few tables were occupied, all the empty tables had debris and stains on the surface, and the beverage and condiment area was in a similar state. When I informed the girl at the front counter of the condition of the dining area, the only response was a FO and die stare. In all, my tasty burger experience was ruined by the third world hygiene of dining area.

The burger flavors were good, but the sweet potato fries were so salty I think I got my sodium intake for the entire month. Salty salty salty

Congratulations to Night manager Desiree's upcoming book "How I Became CEO of ComCast by Doing Nothing About Customer Concerns and Calling them Names", since clearly, she is not cut out for customer service work. My special lady friend and I have been in customer-facing roles throughout our careers and have over 40 years customer service experience between us. We are both currently managers of customer service professionals (she in retail, myself in a call center), and we were both aghast at the lack of service we had received at Burger 21. Normally we laugh off bad service (such as at Vallarta's in Temple Terrace). Upon entering the establishment, I was impressed at how clean the place appeared, 2 employees were cleaning and one was chatting with what may have been a customer (the young man did not have any food or drink in front of him). However, there was no greeting from any of those employees, so we just assumed someone would approach us or come by to take our order. It was about 8:45 or 8:50 PM on Monday night and we had called ahead and confirmed that they were open until 9:30. After waiting a while, we soon understood we were wrong about the service. No one came to help or say anything to us. Seeing as how we were hungry and noting the lack of interest from any of the employees in helping us (still dutifully cleaning and chatting) we decided to leave. As we were walking out the door, the lady that was chatting with the young man finally decided to address us. We let her know that since there was no indication as to how we were actually supposed to patronize this establishment, we were going somewhere else. However, it was said like this: "We're leaving because we didn't get any assistance, why wouldn't anyone help us?" and the response from the chatting lady was "You don't have to be rude about it". Excuse me? I had to leave lest I embarrassingly show how passionate I am about giving and receiving excellent service. My dining companion, I doubt she was as diplomatic. We asked for the manager's name and were provided with a business card. I asked who the manager on duty was, and the response was Desiree, the lady who had been chatting up the young man from earlier (who also left wide-eyed and hastily shortly after we said we were leaving). Ahh Desiree, I wish you the best of luck in your new career, whatever it may be. Evidently, customer service seems only to be a concern for you when you have an interest in the customer you are servicing. What an awful experience, I doubt that I would have a worse taste in my mouth if someone had served me a burger with a letter advising me my cable rates were being raised. And we didn't even eat here. Utterly disappointing and upsetting, we lamented the apparent death of customer service while on our way to Red Robin.....which was fantastic!

Had the special for Thursday which was worth the price! If you like a juicy/slightly greasy burger than this is for you. The sauce bar is fun. Spouse had a full burger which was very greasy and swimming in mayo and mustard - they remade it but I suggest you get them on the side. Great shake and thin fries.

Hands down the bay area best craft burger establishment. Since my job is nearby this location, the convenience of ordering online or call in is always on speed dial on any given Friday. Upon pick up of food, the staff from manager on down is always pleasant and helpful. Burger 21 takes the old steakburger and shake restaurants or parlors, revamped and put a modern vibe to the whole dining experience. They thrive on a fast casual dining experience, yet once you sit down you are not rushed... So visit the sauce bar and experiment with the unique ketchup's or other sauces like apple cider or toasted marshmallow. Fountain drinks can be refilled at no additional charge. The menu is vast. The protein for the traditionalist is 100% seasoned ground Angus beef. The alternative categories in my opinion is where technique and build shines through those proteins are ahi tuna, shrimp, black bean, veggie, chicken and turkey. Toppings are traditional as well (lettuce, tomato, onions, etc..) but I do like the chefs choice on specific builds like guacamole, pickled cucumbers, chili slaw, crispy onion strings etc.. What is a good burger without a solid condiment in the build. Burger 21 has a vast twist of aioli's on certain craft burgers. Finally, the bun selection is typically a brioche bun for most, but there is sesame seed and whole wheat as well. Hmmm, I heart burgers, so enough burger 101 science. Other noted items: if your in the mood for a hot dog I recommend the great dane (pickled cucumbers, chopped tomatoes, crispy onion strings and our remoulade sauce on top of a toasted bun). Unique toasted buttery bun resembling the bun of a lobster roll. The sliders are served on a sweet roll which plays a good sweet-savory combination. The chicken tender basket, french fries and sweet potato fries yields great opportunity to sample random sauces at the sauce bar. However, I do recommend trying the cheese ale sauce even though it is marketed as an additional menu item charge. The crafted shakes made out of ice cream or frozen yogurt always make for a unique sweet treat and completes that classic vibe of burger and shake. Due to my preference of having my calories ingested in chew form, I usually ask to have my shake split in 2 cups and share those calories with someone else. Burger 21 keeps its customers inquisitive by promoting on the 21st of each month a burger and shake of the month which are unique crafts that are not on the menu and will only be available for that month. This in turn keeps curiosity to visit the establishment or website every 21st day of the month to find out what burger or shake they feature. On the same tech savvy note they promote a B rewarded program, which is an email based program that offers free menu items with purchased menu items on random days. As a result, Burger 21 makes its fast casual dining experience and the use of high quality ingredients well worth the visit over and over again.

I have to say that this is hands down my favorite burger place in Tampa. I should probably qualify that statement with this: I don't eat ground beef. Burger 21 has the best selection of non-ground beef burger options. The toppings/flavors are fantastic. Seafood, chicken, turkey and veggie burger options abound. My favorite is the black bean burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, tomato aioli, and a touch of creamy cilantro sauce on a fresh whole grain bun. The flavor of the black bean burger is top notch and it doesn't fall apart when you start to eat it (like some other place's burgers). I drive from South Tampa to enjoy one of these. A low point at Burger 21 for me is their fries. They serve the skinny fries (a la Steak n Shake). I prefer a thicker fry where you can really taste the fresh fried potato as your dipping into one of their sauces from the sauce bar. I do applaud Burger 21 on their condiment bar. All wanted sauces are available for your own sampling. An absolute high point is their milk shake. It will bring all the boys to the yard. My favorite is the chocolate peanut butter. The bananas foster is fabulous too and includes a banana wedge that seems to have been coated in sugar and toasted. Delish. Every month they add a burger of the month and a shake of the month to their menu. Be sure to check these out as they are usually awesome and only around for a short time. The overall vibe of Burger 21 is clean and fun. The staff is young and friendly. The decor is sharp with a tongue in cheek vibe clear by the pictures on the wall and music selections. Overall, a great fast-casual place for a great non-ground beef burger and shake!

Burger was too salty. The Cobb salad gave me and my partner bad gas pains. They charged us extra for avocado and it gave only 3 tiny slices which were rock hard which I did not eat. The shakes are made from soft serve ice cream and are over priced.

I am truly a fan of this burger place... The staff is friendly, the restaurant is bright and clean and the food is delicious and fun. To be honest, I go here at least once a week... most weeks more. I love the burgers, but my favorite is the chicken parm sandwich(My profile pic is me eating one!) . Made with a crispy disc of parmesan cheese and a side of tomato sauce so the cheese does not get soggy, I really enjoy it. The shakes are great and creative, with my winner being the Banana Foster! They also have Hot Dogs, Salads, bean burgers and Chicken fingers so there is plenty for everyone...

I was excited to try this place when I caught a glimpse of the menu online. The menu is pretty big and they have lots of options. I was disappointed when I got there and saw that the cheeseburger was a bit bare. I think a good cheeseburger needs all the fixings...lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles...I got the bacon cheeseburger since it came with onions. I'm not that picky about my burgers but it was a disgusting mess. I've honestly never seen so much grease drip out of a burger. Even my husband was slightly disgusted by my burger, which is saying a lot. By the end the bun was really soggy and falling apart. I did really like the sauce bar and the French fries were good. So I guess I would go here to get anything but a burger...

Excited !! After a really long day of skipping meals and on the go, me and my colleague settled on this place after all the strong reviews online By the way, thank you yelp! love ya, The burger was great !! lot of different options to choose from. I went with the sweet potato fries But most of all we had a really nice bottle of wine on sale on all grade place, great staff, great food.

While reading a local newspaper, I stumbled upon this gem. While it's a little far from the USF area, I convinced the other half to make the trip to Carrolwood. I was overwhelmed by the options, there were so many! Ended up getting the burger of the month, which was a shrimp burger with Thai slaw and Sriracha (who would've thought?). Also got a chocolate shake and an order of fries. I was directed to their sauce bar which has a dozen options. Went for the Thai ketchup (seemed appropriate) and chipotle mayo for the fries. The shakes came out quickly and the burgers came out soon after. What an experience! The fries are super thin and crispy (but definitely need some of the sea salt and ground pepper, and a ketchup of choice), and the burgers were big and tasty! My only critique is that it got pricey ($26 for 2 of us, getting 2 burgers, 2 shakes, and 2 regular fries), so if you're looking for cheap burgers, go to McDonalds. But if you want quality food, definitely go there! Since visiting Sunday I've already gone once, and got the shroom burger. Yummy! Definitely needs some TLC with ketchup and mayo, though.

I had a few sips of my boyfriend's chocolate peanut butter milkshake. It was heavenly. The sliders were ok as were the fries, but I feel that their shakes are the best thing they offer.

I would call this a high end hamburger place! Burgers were excellent! My wife had the turkey burger and she said it was very good. My son also got a chocolate shake that was very tasty. The place is very modern and clean. The food came out quick and hot. The only negative is we had to wait for someone to come to the order counter for a couple of minutes to take our order. It was expensive, but everything else was great!

Why 3 stars? Because it's probably a 3.44444444 and I had to round down. --- --- --- I think Burger 21 finishes in 3rd place to Square One and Burger Monger in the "Best Deluxe Burger Joints in Tampa according to Brett" race. It's a storied award, and there's no shame in placing with the bronze. The good: -Friendly service -A large variety of sauce choices (including Marshmallow, which is a great match with the Sweet Potato Fries) -An expansive menu that includes Chicken Burgers, Turkey Burgers, Seafood Burgers, Veggie Burgers and more. Oh, and freshly baked cookies. The moderate: -I feel like they are definitely going to have to adjust their prices to remain competitive. As of now, everything seems to be marked up a bit higher than you'd expect, especially since the burgers are not especially large. -It may be possible to order a custom burger, but it's not mentioned on the menu. I think there is a great appeal to building your own burger ala Five Guys. Ideally I would have mixed and matched the toppings from the BBQ Bacon Burger and the Tex-Mex Haystack. Overall, I need to go back and try some different items. There's still hope for Gold, Burger 21!

We came in on a Saturday and the free tables were kinda dirty and still had previous guests order numbers at the table. It was about 75% capacity. The burgers are pretty good and so is the chicken fingers and shakes. The fries are kinda meh. They have a good selection of dipping sauces. My main gripe about the prices. 2 burgers, 1 drink and a shake was $25. All that and no fries... fries are one of the cheapest things to offer. Service was okay, nothing that stood out or terrible. If you're looking for a good burger I would recommend a five guys or a nice sit down restaurant.

Now, now, don't fret. Average isn't always bad, it's just not the best. - Cheesy Burger: Cook to order, check. Buttery buns, check. Sauteed onions, check. Fresh sauteed mushrooms, maybe? The cashier said they use fresh, not-canned mushrooms, but I'm not sure. I know a fresh shroom when I eat one and these were a little wimpy. - Milkshake: I have a special place in my small, cold heart for strawberry milkshakes. This one is good. Handmade with just enough ice cream and fruit. Not too thick and tastes homemade. - Fries: Eh. Not the best. The cheese and ale fries were just "OK", even covered in bacon and scallions. Made the mistake of putting the cheesy topping all over the wimpy fries, which just made them wimpier. The Carrollwood area has become quite the mecca of boutique burger joints. This one is definitely in the running but definitely not the best.

I like the turkey burgers. My husband and son like their burgers. The fries are ok-too bad they aren't thicker. The fries are very thin. The Thai ketchup is awesome! We love their shakes! I always get the peanut butter and Nutella shake. My son and husband are fans are of the vanilla and strawberry shakes.

Yum! This is the second B21 location I've been to, and it was awesome just like the 1st! I have to admit that their fries were a little limp and soggy compared to the first location, but I'm not going to dock a star for that because it was pretty late at night. Still dying to try one of their milkshakes!!

What I liked - staff was attentive and friendly, service was quick and the food was ready and brought out to our table quickly even during a lunch rush. The menu was large and had a lot of offerings to explore. What it's missing - Burger wasn't the best I've had, seemed a little over greasy, the bun was greased out and falling apart halfway through eating. The sweet potato fries were also missing some seasoning they came out just overly sweet. So while I was impressed with the quality and speed of the service, I felt that the flavoring and the quality of the food could have been a little bit better. In my mind it falls in line with a chili's burger.

Lots of options and GREAT shakes. My only issue is they do not have just a regular veggie burger on the menu. They have a Southwest and a Greek. I just want a plain old cheeseburger with a veggie patty...I have always had issues ordering that here. Great fries so I will always come back. :)

  • Joe D.

Definitely one of my favorite burger places. A nice variety of burgers and each one I have had has been excellent. The sauce bar for the fries is also cool. Haven't had the milkshakes yet but I would imagine they are pretty good. Be prepared to spend $10 or more for your food, it's not a fast food place but the burgers, fries, and sauce options are something I have no problem paying the price for. You can also fill out a survey on the receipt for free fries on your next dine in which I fully plan on taking advantage of.

So, a little brain fart on my check in here. I stated I had ordered the black n bleu, I actually ordered the tex mex haystack. I had tried to decide between the two and forgot which one I went with, lol. So anyways, I had texted my boyfriend that I had a "pregnant woman-like craving for a good burger" and he promptly took me here. I was impressed with literally everything! The menu has all kinds of preplanned burgers, including seafood, chicken, and veggie burgers...along with shakes, fries, and more. The sauce bar was cool! I loved the thai ketchup, kind of a mix between sweet n sour sauce and regular ketchup. My burger was huge and neatly prepared, not overly greasy. It was scrumptious! The tex mex haystack has fried onion strings, gaucamole, chipotle jalepeno sauce, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and gouda cheese. Absolutley amazing with every bite. The fries were really good but not the best I've had. I like the hip, modern feel to the inside as well. Service was alright but the food is what earned the 5 stars. I will and can't wait to come back!!

I got the double cheeseburger here and the they have the nice spongy bread which i love on burgers. They have an extensive shakes menu if youre into that kind of thing and their fries were really good. They have a sauce bar with like 10 different flavors so you should be able to find one that you like. Yet another trendy place jumping on the burger bandwagon but i liked it the best of all the places in Tampa.

Great first impression! The decor in the restaurant was a little plan but the easy menu and great options made up for it. After eating the sweet potato fries and an ahi tuna burger, I'm a big fan!

We have been looking for a great place to grab a burger since 5 guys is just well a little blah when it comes to beef. So we randomly found this place while driving down the road. When you first walk in your greeted with a very modern approach to a restaurant. Red, Black, and white are everywhere. Placing your order is pretty simple they have a very large menu to choose from and after a great debate between about 4 different burgers we finally settled on our picks. 2 burgers, 2 drinks, and 1 large fry was $22.50! Ouch...bit much. But then when we saw the sauce bar with all the different choices I was in heaven, I love to smoother my fries in different sauces. Our burgers came out in under 5 minutes. They were cooked to perfection(medium) with the juices spilling onto the bun. All the toppings were fresh in quality and the bun was the perfect size for the burger. Their FF remind me of steak&shake, thin and crispy, perfect for dipping. The entire staff was very friendly, except the manager who seemed underwhelmed to be working. We will be back for more for sure!

First time my husband and I been here was this week. I didnt know what to expect other than this is a place for hamburgers. When you walk in, it has cool decor, but being the first time we had been there, we had no clue we had to grab a paper menu, review it, then go and order. Once we got that straight, we were good. I do have to say this small area from entrance to cash register (where you order) screams nightmare for a lunch or dinner rush. This small area is also where we exited as well. With that aside, the food itself was good. It tasted fresh and the service was friendly. Although it was a bit pricey, I would come here again.

Fresh off my disappointment with BGR, I've been in the mood for a good-hit-the-spot burger. As I usually try to keep my choices healthy come lunch time (save for Friday's where anything goes!) I didn't think I'd jump back on the train so quickly. However, I took a look at their website and noticed a gluten-free alternative menu. I reasoned to myself that all things being relative, I'd rather take in a few extra calories and go gluten-free than the alternative. Besides I was a burger junky in need of a fix! The verdict: Very good! I got the gluten-free philly burger with gluten-free sweet potato fries. Ordering on-line was easy enough, although there was no option selecting how you'd like the burger cooked. I picked up my order shortly thereafter and was headed out the door. Until walked by the condiment bar! I was taken by the curious flavor I initially saw: toasted marshmallow. I then looked to the left and apple cider was next. At the other end was Thai ketchup. All gluten free. I was all in! The sweet potato fries were very good. I usually am not a fan of thin cut fries, but these really worked well with the sweet potato. I dove into the sauces, allowing my curiosity to linger no longer! The toasted marshmallow was a hit with the sweet potato. Which makes sense if you think about. I just never thought about it! The apple cider and Thai ketchup were equally as unique and good. I don't know why more places haven't caught on to the favored ketchup idea...I love it! The main attraction of course was the burger. I'm happy to say it hit the mark. It was well seasoned (meaning just enough to add on to it without masking the beef flavor) and cooked just a shade above medium. The melted provolone with the onions and shrooms was also good. Not knowing what to expect with the gluten-free bun, I was pleasantly surprised. While the texture is of course slightly different than a normal one, it held up nicely and complimented the burger. I'd get it again without second thought. As Arnold once said - "I'll be back"!

I saw the signs go up on this space on Dale Mabry and was eagerly anticipating the opening of this location. I'd passed the location on Linebaugh but never dined there. Unfortunately, my first visit is likely to be my last. I had the Philly Cheese burger. The bun was amazing, but there is something really wrong if you're reviewing a burger joint and talking about the buns. I don't know if it was this particular burger or their burgers in general, but my overall impression was bland, bland, bland. The provolone was gooey and melty, but overwhelmed everything else on the burger. I couldn't really even taste beef, so I pulled out a bite of burger alone. Nope, it was just bland. The menu indicated that it came with a Dijon Chive Mayo and when I pulled my burger apart, I could see a few snips of green, but I certainly couldn't taste any contribution from the sauce. They tout their Sauce Bar, but I guess I was expecting the level of choice and flavor I find at Evo's ketchup bar, because nothing here was very exciting. I ended up dipping my fries into honey mustard, which was good - but I don't think house-made as it tasted like the honey mustard at a number of places. The fries were okay - hot and well salted, but nothing to write home about. Frankly, McDonald's fries are probably a little tastier on their own. I'd be willing to give them a second try for one of their chicken or seafood burgers, but for a good old cheeseburger, no thanks. Overall - decidedly average, but for these prices (about $12 for my meal), I can think about 10 places I'd rather get a burger.

Pricey, but worth it. Expect to pay $20-$25/couple. I adore the turkey burger. Delish! Sweet potato fries are some of the best I've had, and I adore their dipping sauces.

Good creative burgers and fries. But then I got FOOD POISONING and am still suffering. Burgers were undercooked - don't really want to know if it's salmonella, E. coli, or something else... If I ever dare to jeopardize my health again, I'm ordering the burger well done (not that they ask you how you want it cooked).

Burger 21 is the mecca of all Tampa gourmet burger joints. I think I could eat here all day, every day. I've taken many a family member and friend to Burger 21 and everyone walks away beyond pleased in what they have to offer. I always get the Chicken Parm or The Shroom burger, but I've tried a lot of the burgers on the menu and love all of them. The sauce bar is amazing and I can't get enough of the yummy goodness. The thing I love most about Burger 21 is that they are constantly making small changes to the menu...a new milkshake here, an updated burger there... A huge plus is how attentive Burger 21 is to their customers. Without fail, I get a tweet every time I visit. I love their dedication to their customers.

Note: I am a vegetarian haha After reviewing the menu before going there I saw that they had a couple of options for vegetarians which is always refreshing at a burger place. I decided on the black bean burger with everything on it. It was amazing =) All the toppings worked perfectly with the black bean patty. The sauces is what made this burger over the top. It came with a spicy mayo and cilantro sour cream sauce. The fries were hot, thin, and crispy. Between me and my cousin a large was the perfect size. Overall, I thought this place was great! My cousin liked her regular (all meat) burger and I loved my veggie option.

I love the Black n Bleu burger. Best burger I ever had! The sweet potato fries are really good too. I can't wait to try more burgers. I just wish there was one in St. Pete.

2.5 stars. I got the Texmex Haystack burger with guac, bacon, gouda, LT, chipotle-jalapeño sauce, and fried onion rings. Overall, it was good but I think it was slightly salty/over seasoned. The chipotle-jalapeño sauce seemed non-existant and had to use the different sauces they offer at the side station to dip in like Thai ketchup or Cajun sauces. I did like how the default temperature was mid-rare and served on a toasted brioche bun. Sweet potato fries were great, thinly cut and crispy. A little roasted marshmallow sauce was a good pair but seemed a little too sweet for my liking. I ordered a banana fosters shake to go and was very disappointed to find they gave me the wrong shake when I left.

I ate here today, wanted to try something new. I am a pescotarian (vegetarian that eats fish) and was happy to know that they have two veggie options as well as a shrimp and ahi tuna selection. I visited the restaurant at sort of an awkward time (3:00) and there were about four tables full including mine. The place is not very large in space, but it definitely works for the sake of "flow". My boyfriend ordered the plain cheeseburger and some of their turkey chili whereas I ordered the Greek veggie burger and a side of sweet potato fries. The service was "alright" I was expecting it to be very quick based on the number of people in the place. But when it came, the food looked great. My Greek burger was delicious, and I really enjoyed the shoestring sweet potato fries. The "toasted marshmallow" condiment however, was MUCH too sweet for my liking. My boyfriend didn't care much for his cheeseburger, so I said that he has to give a specialty burger a chance before he gives up on the place. However, he really enjoyed the turkey chili. I also like that the restaurant has a gluten free menu. Neither of us eat gluten free, but its always nice when an eatery can accommodate various diets. Their shake of the month for November is chai tea, so I figured I'd get it to have something else to ground my opinion. VERY GOOD. Not too spicy, not too sweet. I think that we would return here again, at least so Robert can try another type of burger and not have a negative outlook on this place's namesake!

Great place to eat that is low key. Great sauce bar, try the apple cider with the sweet potato fries. I have been here twice now and been impressed both times. The Mediterranean burger is delicious and very filling. I have also had the Tex Mex which was spicy, but had great flavors. Make sure to grab extra napkins for that burger! I would definitely say their sweet potatoes fries are much better than their regular ones.

Please ignore the one-star review--wtf is a vegan reviewing burger joint anyway? I had a small burger and fries--the burger was good, and the fries were excellent. The staff was friendly and the decor was nice. I was the first customer of the day, so the wait was a little longer than I would have liked, but I wasn't in a hurry, so no biggy. I tried the dipping sauces which were original and unexpected. Definitely worth a try, even if it's a little pricier than most.

I picked up a burger and sweet potato fries from BGR (right up the road) and from Burger 21 for a comparison test. Both are probably the best burgers (Burger Monger too) you're gonna find in Tampa, but I have to give a slight edge to BGR on the burger, and to Burger 21 on the fries. BGR's burger is made with better meat: fresh-ground prime...and they cook it to order in front of you. Burger 21's meat is "choice" and it's cooked in the back, out-of-sight. The sweet potato fries from BGR are thick-cut, slightly undercooked and not crispy enough. Burger 21's fries are thin-cut, very crispy and delicious. I prefer the vibe at BGR: they are truly proud of their product and it shows. The employees at Burger 21 are mostly young students who all look like they'd rather be texting on Facebook or playing videogames. BGR is a little more expensive than Burger 12 due to, I suspect, the higher-quality meat. But either way, these are very good burgers, and I'll be eating them both again...separately next time.

Upscale counter burger place. It's a little pricey, but I think you're paying for the atmosphere - it's modern and hip. Try the sweet potato fries - they're amazing and it's worth the splurge on a shake. My friend and I ordered the peanut butter milkshake and it was like drinking a reeses.

Drove up to sterilewood to check this place out based on word of mouth - surprisingly, worth the drive. I had the black & blue burger - VERY juicy. Loved the greens mix - not your usual iceberg shredded stuff. The bacon was superb - thick cut and flavorful, with an actual layer of bacon, not just a piece. Well assembled burger - thats a huge plus. I'd have likes to see more actual blue/gorgonzola cheese on it - thought that part was a tad weak. The meat was cooked perfectly - did I mention it is a perfectly juicy burger? Mmmm. Fries: a la carte - meh. Now - the shakes. Sublime. At 3.50 I think they're a bit overpriced (2.99 seems more like it from a value point of view) but DAMN thats a good shake. I had chocolate and my companion had the limited edition pumpkin. They were both home runs from a texture and flavor point of view. Next time, I'll specify no added salt (my usual complaint in restaurants). The manager (Ben) said they'd be happy to add some additional blue/gorg cheese on top. I'll also try the sweet potato fries next time as well. Did I mention that the meat was excellent? My only real complaint is on value. When you add a drink and a shake you can run up a hefty tab pretty quick. Now, can we get one in S Tampa so I don't have to hike all the way the heck up to sterilewood? -------------- Second Visit: Had the cheese burger: Just as awesomely juicy as before. My friend had the black & blue this time and loved it. I got another superb chocolate shake and he had a side of sweet potato fries (big enough for 2, assuming you both want the same thing) I spoke to the manager and asked about half orders of fries, and he said he'd be happy to do that for half price. Smart, very very smart. I usually want a few fries, but not a giant mound, and lets face it - they just do not reheat well.

My husband and I just visited Burger 21 for the first time this evening when the craving for burgers struck. We've tried Square One and many locations of Five Guys before so we thought we'd give this local chain a try to compare. My husband ordered the "BBQ Bacon Burger" which he ordered Medium but it came out Medium-Well. I don't know if perhaps they just don't cook burgers any less than Medium-Well, like some other chains (if so, they ought to tell you that when you order) or if they just happened to overcook his accidentally. Even at Medium-Well it was still juicy. Also, it didn't have that firm-packed texture that many "industrially" produced burgers have, which earns it a thumbs up from us. The toppings were delicious on both his BBQ Bacon Burger as well as my 4-Pack of Shroom Sliders. I must mention that they were nice enough to customize that for me even though it wasn't on the menu - they used the toppings from "The Shroom Burger" and put them on the sliders, as I requested. My sliders arrived cooked Well Done, as I ordered, and also had that nice, hand-formed texture. We really liked the buns, they were really soft, buttery, airy and a little sweet. Very good. The fries were just OK - they reminded me of McDonald's: very very thin, pretty crisp and mostly just tasted like salt. Not bad, just not great. There were some interesting condiments and flavored ketchups to dip them in, which helped with the lack of flavor. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to try one of their milkshakes this time but I get the feeling we'll be back and next time we won't make that mistake again.

Rough trying to order a " the omg" burger. I asked 3 times but the cashier kept saying you can OMG any burger, very frustrated so I asked for a normal Cheeseburger instead. If you don't give them a temperature they will cook everything Mid Well! Not for me, BUT make your own decision.

Veggie black bean burger with a strawberry shortcake shake? Oh no that sounds sooooooo awful (sarcasm). Delectable and filling without the bloated sensation. The shake was a bit rich with the bits of pound cake inserted throughout, but I don't have an insatiable sweet tooth so that may be my bias. Worth the cash, and a big fan of my kid selecting grapes over the standard fries.

I am a BurgerMonger fan, so the bar was high. Trendy interior was bright, very modern, I was greeted nicely, it took a bit to get the order in, but we got her done. Ordered side salad and a Mex burger, Salad was nice, pre made, looked a touch tired but still very good and I arrived late. Burger was very nice, good flavor, nice bun. It looks like the new trend in Tampa is to make a burger joint. Ok, but they better kick butt. Burger, side salad and ginger ale.... $17... Ouch. Was it enough to leave Jake and the Mongers? Probably not. Maybe I will try it again to get a second take.

I decided to do a Burger Spot Crawl to find the best burger in Tampa since I'm up here for a week for work. I first went to Burger Monger and was impressed. Then today I decided to hit up B21, and long story short B21 has the best tasting burger in TAMPA(Carrollwood). HANDS DOWN. Medium well OMG burger with the toppings, melted in my mouth(pause), the best burger I've tasted so far. And I drove all the way from Miami, and was deeply impressed and satisfied. Burger 21 holds the title for BEST BURGER.

Such a great place! Very clean. Very friendly. Very yummy! Everything I could ask for in a burger joint. Gotta try the MILKSHAKE!!!

The burger was good and the sweet potato fries were tasty, but a little too salty. It's nice that the burger starts at $4, but it doesn't include any sides, and you can't add toppings as desired. I enjoyed the burger, but it didn't justify the price. Nothing extraordinary here.

Not your typical burger joint. The service is great for an "order at the counter" place. The shakes- OMG, the Bananas Foster and the Reese's PB cup are to die. The burgers are good; I've had less success with some of the non-beef items (the chicken, the shrimp 'po boy- which is by no means a po boy) as they are simply patties of things I'd rather have in non-patty form if that makes sense. The sauces are cool to try. Fries are good. Definitely a popular stop for my kids!

Although it's been among the burger places in Carrollwood for sometime I found my 1st visit disappointing! While the burger was large it definitely needed degreasing. Raw onions (very few/asked for extra) were sauted by the grease soaked burger.he burger which I asked for med well was well at one end & med rare at the other. Patty is only 1/4" thick so maybe hard to manage doneness. Roll was great.Yellow mustard was the only choice in mustard & far from my top choice. No lemon for ice tea, finally staff cut a lemon & delivered to our table 1/2way thru meal. Sauce bar interesting & fry's were OK but I would have prefered onion rings! I'll travel 1/4mile further south on Dale Mabry to Burger Monger & get a real Kobe beef burger the way I want it for less money(on Mondays). Or cross the street for lunch @ Outback, larger burger for definitely less money with a salad & Outbacks new shakes are delicious! Hope they do OK without my return business.

I have to say the burger was pretty good. I ordered the BBQ Bacon Burger that was loaded with bacon, cheddar cheese, onion straws, lettuce and tomato all topped off with BBQ sauce on a sesame seed bun. It seriously looked to big to eat but I quickly proved that theory wrong. The meat was juicy and flavorful and the bun held up to the burger very well down to the last bite. The french fries were ok, nothing to write home about. They were just slightly larger than shoestring fries. They have a ketchup bar with all sorts of crazy flavors mostly designed to compliment their sweet potato fries. Most of them were too sweet for my liking though. Speaking of sweet I decided that comfortable was not what I wanted to be so I ordered up a chocolate malt. They make the shakes at their shake bar next to the cashier, just think of it like a milkshake barista. I had no major complaints about the shake although I would have like a touch more malt, oh-well. The decor had a retro/modern feel with a very clean interior. Friendly and helpful staff, it appeared that everyone there actually like their jobs. I especially like the sign on the restroom door "B a Man".

If you liked this place then you really need to go to square one burgers in south tampa. I got the tex mex burger and sweet potato fries. Lets start positive fries great crispy thin strips and surprisingly they have this roasted marshmallow dipping sauce that made these into a nice dessert. The other sauces were good as well. Now to the burger. Nothing special at all. No spice as you would think with a tex-mex burger. The patty kinda felt like a pre-made patty not a hand pressed one. The bun sucked. Square one has way better and healthier options for right around the same price. They also offer veggie sides that I prefer even when I'm not eating the healthiest meal I try to balance it out. There's nothing besides veggie burger that could be that kind of option here and I may return to try it. Even the chicken option didn't sound very good. Overall for almost $15 I could have been much more impressed.

So good, and a very unique menu. I love the black bean burger and that wonderful "secret" seasoning on the fries. I'm also a huge fan of their toasted marshmallow and apple cider dipping sauces. Yum!

I've drooled past this new location several times and finally my chance arrived. Took my mother out for burgers and fries and boy were we not disappointed! She had the Cheesy Burger (with provolone, med. rare) and I had the Tex Mex Haystack Burger (medium). We also shared a basket of Cheese & Ale Fries and a sample of each one of their sauces. The doneness on the burgers was switched (me with medium rare and mom with medium) but we didn't even notice at first because the burgers were so good. The fries were perfect - slim, seasoned & crispy but not greasy - and the cheese sauce was good - 4 different types of cheese and a touch of ale. Check it out sometime!

Way over priced. Food is average at best. Now worth what you pay. Burger Monger is much better and cost les. Will not be going back here again.

Not impressed with this GrillSmith luxury burger concept restaurant. These are franchises, but they don't really have a solid market niche. Fast food is cheaper, and there are way better upscale burger restaurants out there. In fact, you can get superior burgers at many local mom and pops, not to mention bars. The ground meat is flavorful enough, but mine came out rare after it was ordered medium well done. There's nothing more appetite killing, to me, than biting into some wet, mushy red ground beef. Yuck. The bun was toasted, but didn't really taste like it. The yellow cheese was over-melted and flavorless. Now what sets this burger joint apart from all the others? That is not readily apparent. They market it as "crafted" burgers, as opposed to just plain made and grilled burgers, I guess. But that's not enough to distinguish this offering from the fairly stiff competition. The fries were the shoe-string kind, and an obvious McDonald's clone. But that begs the question, why not just go to McDonald's? It's a lot cheaper. I was also not too impressed with the fairly pedestrian condiment bar, with no less than five mayonnaise-based sauces, one tasting like sweet marshmallow. Really? They aim at the sweet potato fries, but the sweet flavor does not mesh with the savory menu. My burger was also rather tiny, so I can't see going here over Five Guys, with better average burgers and way better fries. The atmosphere is cafeteria. You order at the self-serve counter, but a very young waitress brings your food, which also raises questions about tipping. You must half wait on yourself, yet you probably should tip for the person bringing out your plate. That's pretty silly. Either go self-serve, or not. In between doesn't work for me.

Holy smokes is this place delish!!! Not only are their burgers amazing, but their shakes are probably the best I've ever had!!! We enjoyed a banana foster shake & chocolate peanut butter (think Reese's peanut butter cup) - everything sensational! My only problem is I was in town visiting, where do I find such tasty treats on the west coast!! :)

The burgers come in different styles. Not just your regular burgers, but they can make you one if you're plain. They have eight sauces at the condiment bar to add for your fries or sandwiches! Beer is also served here. Not to forget shakes either!
