If you haven't been here yet go soon, It's worth the wait. I have taken countless people here for breakfast and everything my guest come away with a full belly and compliments. The coffee is always fresh and the flapjacks are fluffy. I would recommend the omelettes and oatmeal.

I read reviews before visiting, several recommended the orange juice. They're right, it's fantastic, the oj is fresh squeezed, extra cold and refreshing. For breakfast I enjoyed the Benedict with potatoes. The hollandaise sauce was cold, however the egg, ham and english muffin was warm, which made it tolerable. The potatoes are great, the perfect amount of salt and crunchiness. The service was great, quick and put up with us moving tables. Prices are great, food was good, will definitely try again...

So I had a friend in town from Italy. She used to be a full time Tampa resident. I used Yelp to find us a place to eat bfast. The last time the restaurant she suggested, was good but the wait and the cramped confines at the counter detracted from our catching up. We both had omelettes and shared a single serving of their signature French Toast. My friend isn't fond or overly sweet and she liked the French Toast. We had the Gourmet Amaretto coffee. Since she drinks her's black it was perfect. She was actually amazed that she didn't know the Brunchery was there for as many years as it has been. The only downside was a loud toddler whose parents couldn't quiet down, but that's to be expected in a local "family" restaurant. Thanks Yelpers for having good honest reviews.

Found this place after seeing an Amazon Local special $15 for $25 worth of food. So I decided to pull the trigger and try this place with the girlfriend for a weekend brunch. My first impression of this place was bad due to the fact the shopping plaza is located in a tiny. I don't know who engineered the parking stalls but it was designed for vehicles that are like a Prius or smaller as larger vehicles are an issue when parking next to you and even getting out. But enough of that, the interior decor is more of a "countryside home" with the side panels and decorations from the owners family all over the interior. I had the "hamburger omelette" with home fries and white bread and was delicious!! My girlfriend had the "Juliet" which consisted of a Belgium waffle, home fries and bacon and was delicious as well! The waffle was light and just the right crisp (which I love!) As for dessert we had the triple chocolate cake and had the right sweetness as it was not overpowering and covered with whip cream and fresh strawberries. I will recommend this place to anyone and which the Amazon Local you have no reason not to visit that place!

The Brunchery is one of my go-to brunch spots. There may be a wait on some mornings, but it is worth it. The restaurant is fairly small with minimal seating. The food and the service are consistently good. This past Sunday, we had Tim as our server. He was friendly and very attentive. My companion had the veggie omelet and he wolfed it down within minutes. I had the pancakes, poached eggs, bacon, and corned beef hash. Everything tasted delicious. I recommend the Brunchery as a good breakfast/brunch spot. Plus, you get 15% off your bill when you check into Yelp!

My family and I enjoy coming to this place. It has an old small town feel to it and the staff are friendly. It's small children friendly with some toys you can take to your table while dining. I haven't tried their lunch menu yet but their French toast and pancake for breakfast is not bad at all.

This is a quaint little place with awesome food and a homemade feel! The service is great and the environment is great for breakfast with the family! Pro-Tip: call ahead if you are coming with a big group to get an idea of wait time!

Delicious food, quick service and a really cute atmosphere? Yep! I stopped into the Brunchery on a quest to find an omelet. The craving had struck and nothing else would do. I thought about Pinky's -- too busy -- then about Pach's -- a solid choice. Then I said to myself, "But wait, Allison, you are a Yelper! Get out of your comfort zone. Go boldly where presumably many Yelpers have gone before. Try something new!" And off I went. I waited for about fifteen minutes on a Sunday afternoon, which actually wasn't that bad. The entire restaurant was packed which signified the food is either really delicious or just okay and overhyped. After sitting down and looking through the menu, I decided to get the Denver omelet, which comes with onions, peppers, ham and cheddar cheese. I ordered the omelet with egg whites and it was no problem. The omelet came out rather quickly and it was excellent. It had a lot of integrity and wasn't falling apart. I loved how it was stuffed and every bite was a walk through a delicious breakfast paradise. Service was fast and friendly for being so busy. I will definitely come back since I had such a great experience this time!

A great spot for a quick breakfast and friendly service. We had a great server who was quick to refill beverages for us. Food came out nice and hot. They didn't skimp on the omelette, and there was plenty of cheese and meat. Yum! Prices were fair for the area. Will definitely return.

I've eaten twice here so far. Both times I ordered the Signature French Toast and the Corned Beef Hash. Their french toast is delicious and filling; I can see why its so popular. The Corned Beef Hash is a generous portion for a side. I will definitely be a regular here.

I eat burgers for breakfast. Everybody else eats eggs benedict and omelette and pancake and cereals and crap. That's weak sauce. Have you not seen Pulp Fiction?? Hamburgers are the cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast, man! Another 5 star for Brunchery. Please consider bringing back the Amazon/Groupon deal!!

What a cute little New England-esque atmosphere! The service is speedy and the food is wonderful. Order the Benedict Mona for a crab and cream cheese take on eggs benedict... It's wonderful! Delicious fresh squeezed orange juice in mason jars and a gourmet coffee of the day. Check in on yelp for 15% off an entree :)

Stopped in before work for a quick bite and this place did not disappoint... I ordered Egg Whites and mixed veggies, and my wife ordered the French Toast which was delicious! If you are in the area you have to stop in...

I'm not sure why there are so many 3 star reviews but I think this is a swell place for breakfast! I am an eggs Benedict girl and that's pretty much the only thing I order and this place nailed it! The yolks were runny and the whites were semi-firm and not watery. I ordered the florentine (minus the bacon) and my boyfriend (not a Benny lover) ordered a special Benedict with turkey and bacon. We both enjoyed our breakfast. Inside The Brunchery had a lot of character; lots of grandma-type knick-knacks everywhere. The breakfast side dish options are breakfast potatoes or grits. I wanted a fruit cup instead but was told it would be a $2.99 up charge. I expected an up charge but $3?!? I'd pay that for berries but I was afraid it would be mostly melon. I tasted some potatoes from my boyfriend's plate and they had a good flavor to them but still require ketchup. I'm taking a point away for the lackluster coffee. I am not a coffee snob (I don't care what brand you use, just don't make it weak!) but I am a coffee fiend and I find it unacceptable that a place specializing in breakfast or brunch has weak coffee. If I wanted weak coffee, I'd just have hot tea.

This place is adorable! I read other reviews and just had to get the orange juice. It was so cold and fresh! Ordered the breakfast sandwich with home fries. The sandwich was so yummy! It had sausage and ham and the egg was perfect. Really tasty and exactly what I was craving. Wished the home fries had been a little crispier but other than that everything was great.

Came here after a Datz had a very long wait and we had 2 very hungry children. Though it was busy, they sat us almost right away. All of the food and coffee was delicious. We got food fast and satisfied all our appetites :)

Had the Benedict Mona!!! Yummy, my baby had the Lox Omelette which he said was great. The Brunchery always has their special way of putting a twist on their dishes that just works.

  • Jason C.

We ended up here randomly after being forced out by Datz. We had very good service and were seated immediately. The rows of seats were a bit cramped, but it had a charming, neighborhood feel. I had the salmon eggs benedict which was quite good. They were accommodating about having the Hollandaise sauce on the side. The home fries that came with it weren't that great and tasted too strongly of seasoning salt. I would probably substitute if I came in the future. Overall, I found it a fine place to go on a weekend morning with close proximity to Bayshore for a hearty post-brunch jaunt.

First time being in Tampa and we went here for breakfast. It was phenomenal. The oj was so fresh and natural. I had the Seminole Benedict, super delicious and flavorful. My boyfriend had the stuffed French toast, OMG, YOU HAVE TO GET IT! YOU WON'T REGRET IT. Lol overall, everything was fantastic and it's like a hole in the wall, but when u enter it's very old fashion looking and very nice.

  • Jenny J.

Not impressed. How could a place in Florida serve IMITATION crab or Krab?! And NOTHING is homemade, with the exception of a hollandaise sauce. They claim to have only the FRESHEST ingredients, yet their biscuits and grits are frozen PREPACKAGED and Instant. Why would I want to pay to eat what I wouldn't fix myself at home? So, for the three stars, I did order a spinach Benedict (since the only "fresh" ingredient seemed to be the veggies and hollandaise), which was actually ok. Don't order any meat - the bacon is quite terrible. I will never eat here again. If they made everything fresh, it would be much more enjoyable. Our service was good tho! And the place has a very Homey feel to it, which is nice!

We came for Sunday brunch and were sat in about 10 minutes...a relief considering neighboring restaurants have a 1-2 hour wait for brunch. Service and the food was great. We had the hash cooker special, croissant Benedict, and signature French toast.

  • Elizabeth P.

I enjoyed the omelette I ordered, the OJ was fresh and the stuffed french toast was okay. The place is very cute and the owner was personable. We were able to make reservations and they were very accommodating to our big group. Only issue we had was with our waitress who was snappy, lost our debit card, then blamed it on us for giving it to the wrong waitress (who happens to be herself, she obviously forgot and misplaced it). Then she charged our card the wrong order. All this wouldn't have been that big of a deal but we told her that we'd be leaving earlier than the group when we initially placed our order. Maybe she was having a bad day, I don't know. In the end, I was the last person to receive my check and charged double!

Dined for the first time over 4 years ago... And forgot about this place...... I was recently in the area and decided to stop by since my first visit was memorable. It was after 9 am on a Monday. Right away we were told to sit wherever we wanted. Great! Our waiter took about 5 minutes to swing by to put in our order for drinks. And another 10 mins to swing by to place our breakfast order: mex-tex omelette and the ultimate french toast. Both were amazing! The french toast was by far the best I have had so far! The food: 4/5 Service: 3/5...... 2 servers for about 9 tables is tough.....another server was needed. Coffee was never refilled. Was not offered ketchup nor hot sauce...... I overheard other tables being offered this. If I was solely rating the food, I would give this restaurant 4.5 stars out of 5. I will come back of I'm ever in the area....the food was really good and I loved the atmosphere as well as the decor. Colander chandelier!

The Brunchery was soooo delicious. The service really sucked. Our server was so overwhelmed. My daughter's pancake was a bit dry, but she didn't notice. My girlfriend loved the Brunchery eggs Benedict she tried, and the signature french toast was heavenly. Seriously this would be a 3, except the french toast was worth the visit. The atmosphere was pretty cute. There was a slight wait, but for a Sunday pretty small considering the area.

Loved the food, loved the decor. Only problem was the wait staff was clearly swamped and need more help.

We came to this restaurant after having a great experience at The Brunchery in the Val Rico area, and learned that they are actually not affiliated with each other. Nevertheless, we ate here. Some of the food that we got was very good, while other things were not. The waffle was under cooked, the grits tasted stale, and the burger was nothing special. The signature french toast on the other hand was great! They don't offer french fries, which I found a bit odd when offering a burger. They also don't have flavored creamer which has come to be a favorite of mine when eating at places with stale tasting coffee. The service was a bit lacking and all in all, we probably won't be going back.

    (3)
  • Ash W.

Not a bad place. Very "homey" feel on the inside. Had the corned beef hash. It was good but very lacking on the corned beef. Coffee was okay, tasted pretty watered down. Boyfriend had the brunchery Benedict and he loved it. He said the cheese and mushrooms had a lot of flavor. Their menu looked great and it was hard to choose so I'll be back to give it another shot.

  • Rachel M.

Great place for some breakfast. My favorites are the breakfast crepes. They also have the typical selections of omelets, French toast, benedicts, omelets. Glad we had gotten to try it on a geoupon or living social. All was well. No breakfast skillets though, which are my hubby's fave.

So this was the next spot on my list of brunch places to try in the area, and it did not disappoint! This place is in a strip mall and has a nice casual setup inside, though better looking than Denny's, Ihop, etc. The guys working here are friendly and they offer a discount for a Yelp or Facebook check in. Their menu offers lots of variety, as I had somewhat of a hard time choosing what I wanted. I settled on the Italian omelet (Italian sausage, onion, Prov. cheese, potatoes, tomatoes, mushrooms and green peppers, served open faced), and the wife had steak and eggs (with home fries and toast). We were impressed with the steak, as it was actually cooked rare(per her request), tasted good, and it was a good quality steak. My Italian was quite tasty as well. The portions here are big and we were both really full. She didn't finish hers. There are a few other things I'd like to try from their menu, and I can see this place gaining the 5th star in the future(I think I need to try Pinky's before I can describe somewhere "as good as it gets"). Definitely recommend this place, as I'll be back!

My friend and i planned on going to datz but it was an hr and a half wait so we drove half a mile to this place. It has a really small waiting area inside. Noone is there to help you when you walk in then the manager who takes names and seats people seem really stressed out and when we asked how long was the wait they said its the shortest wait in south tampa about ten minutes which turned into 20. Then we got cute mason jars of orange juice with no straws...they dont serve mimosa. I got an eggs benedict and it was good. I ordered take out of ham crepe and they forgot my side which really ruined the whole dining experience for me. If your a waiter check the box for all items dont rush do it right. Guess its my fault i didnt check the box before i left but wow give me a break. If i checked first id have to complain and that is the most annoying thing to remind someone to do...care about people and their job. Common example of hire more help. They clearly dont work well as a team at this place.

  • Dawn S.

Simple, tasty "home style" food. Hearty portions and friendly service. Place is kinda small and you can expect a small wait if showing up during peak times on the weekend.

We've always loved breakfast at the Brunchery but this past weekend we decided to try their catering. The food was amazing! We had their roast beef sliders, meatballs, crab crepes, and bruschetta. The roast beef was so tender and juicy, it was by far my favorite thing! they were very kind when they came and set it up and super easy to work with. We are definitely going to use them the next time we need catering.

I had heard and read great things about The Brunchery so when a Groupon came up, I jumped at the chance. Sadly, our experience did not live up to the hype. We arrived for brunch shortly after Noon on a Saturday. Had a modest wait, but nothing out of the ordinary for brunch on a weekend. I went for the Bayshore Benedict - a 1/2 croissant topped with scrambled eggs, cheddar, bacon, tomato slices and their homemade Hollandaise. It came with their home fries. The benedict was okay, but a little cold by the time it got to me. Cold eggs with cheese and hollandaise isn't a tasty treat. The potatoes were even worse, with 1/2 of them almost icy by the time they got to me. I am not one to put ketchup on everything but these definitely needed it. Hubby was in a lunch mood and got the Cuban burger, a burger topped with Swiss, ham and pickles. He needed extra mayo for it, as they went very light on the mayo and mustard that was supposed to come on it. Overall, not a great experience and it was quite the trek for us as we live up towards Citrus Park. I don't think we will be back since there are plenty of better brunch places much closer to home

  • Mike S.

Probably in the top echelon for Breakfast places in terms of menu uptions, creativity, quality, speed and courtesy of service. Hosted a family breakfast using a Groupon that gave us lots of dishes, crab crepes, omelets, pancakes, regular crepes, waffles with strawberries, bacon and grits. All were very tasty and the Joffrey coffee hit the spot. We arrrive at 10:30 on a Saturday and had a miminal wait for a party of 6. A waiting line developed as we ate. Convenient parking was no problem.

Really wanted to like this one because of its great location but.... Guys this really is a step down from the Cracker Barrel! Cold pancakes, eggs & waffles?? Come on! Really nothing special. I'd skip it! Pass totally not worth it!

  • Bob B.

Solid place for a no frills breakfast/brunch. Good and fresh and you get loads of food. You will not leave hungry. Waffle à la Brunchery and their benedicts are very good. Fresh orange juice. Edit: I have downgraded the score because of over done poached eggs. The last two times I have been here the results were the same, basically hard-boiled. Nothing sucks more than waiting to dig into a delightful benedict only to have the main attraction suck.

Cute local restaurant with good food and excellent staff. We were a complicated table in that we had customizations for 4 of the 5 orders. Everything came out perfect on the first try. Signature French toast and eggs Benedict were delicious and orange juice was fresh.

Extremely disappointed. Haven't been here in years and food quality has gone way down. Eggs Florentine had over poached eggs, soggy bacon and stale English muffin. I preferred to go hungry over having it redone. Service was also horrible. Everyone else's food was bad too but they were hungrym

The food here is very good, but the service is just OK. There is often a LONG wait and it can be hit or miss. Great prices, but I think they need more servers and a larger space.

I just called in to order lunch and asked if it was possible to order a grilled cheese sandwich with a cup of tomato soup, if that would be a combination order or separate, and how much it would cost. Apparently that was too much to handle for the person answering the phone and I overheard some lady (I'm guessing the manager?) in the background saying "Tell her that if she is gonna ask so many questions, she should just look at the menu online. We have too many people calling us to ask us 99 questions when they could just look it up themselves!" If you're going to talk badly about a customer, you might want to put the phone on mute first, geniuses! There are too many good restaurant choices in the area for me to waste my time on one with a rude staff!

    (1)
  • Soy H.

This place disappointed me today. We called ahead to see what the wait was before driving over. The gentleman who answered said there wasn't one yet. When we got there (10 minutes later) people were pouring out of the door. Once we got there the hostess said we could be seated outside instead of the normal 20 minute wait. Once seated she NEVER came back. Nor did a server. This is the absolute worst customer service. The food here is decent but not at all worth the congestion, wait, or bad customer service. We won't be back!!!

I came here with my family for breakfast on an early Saturday morning. I ordered the Benedict Mona, my mom got the Bayshore Benedict and my brother got the 3 cheese omelet. My mothers dish came out cold, and she brought this to the attention of a manager, who simply took the dish back and microwaved the whole thing - microwaving eggs makes them rubbery, so my mother could no longer enjoy her meal and didn't finish. My dish was okay, but my eggs were overcooked to the point of being soft boiled and not poached. My brother is the only one who's meal was perfectly fine. It also took our server 15 minutes to bring me a glass of water before the meal which was disappointing considering there were only 5 other tables seated in the restaurant. Service was slow and less than ordinary. Overall, we will not be coming back.

  • Elizabeth A.

I came here by mistake because I mixed up the names of this restaurant with another breakfast joint. I am in love with service, the environment, the food and the coffee that is offered here. They have all these different tokens that they sell, a different mug for every person, and you feel like you eating in someone's dining room. I feel like there are a lot of great breakfast restaurants in Tampa but man do I love this place.

I had the Lox omelet. It was excellent. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meal. The service was fast and friendly. The price was more than fair. The dining area and table were clean. I would not hesitate to come back! Thanks for a great meal. :)

I have often visited The Brunchery because I do enjoy their food, but feel compelled to write about my experience yesterday. It was Father's Day, and pretty busy. Our waitress was very obviously overwhelmed, and couldn't have been less friendly if she tried.. but I'm not there to make friends, so as long as we got our food on time and correctly, I am good to go. I ordered an omelet with sausage, 4 different cheeses, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, and hollandaise sauce. It was delicious, as usual. When we got the bill, though, the omelet almost came back up. It was $65.00... there were 4 of us, 1 being a 6 year old, and it's breakfast. When I looked at the bill in closer detail, I was being charged $4 for the omelet, which I am assuming was just for the egg, and $1.98 for each additional item. We're talking a $20 omelet. I pay $20 for a steak at Capital Grille..not an omelet at The Brunchery. I asked to speak with the manager, who immediately placed the blame on me, the customer. Customer Service 101 tells you that this isn't the correct approach. I explained to him that there must be a mistake, and asked him to show me the spot on the menu that reflects the $1.98 charge for each item in the omelet. He said he could not, because it's not there. NOWHERE ON THE MENU DOES IT REFLECT AN UPCHARGE OF $1.98 for each item in an omelet, our waitress did not address it when I was putting in my order, and yet they charged it. I suggested we take a look at the menu together, find a comparable omelet, and go with that. I immediately found The Italian, which is around $10, but HE REFUSED! He actually told me that it was my fault for ordering such a large omelet, and that he would only take $5.00 off the bill. Realizing that I was going to get nowhere with this, I resigned myself to the fact that I was going to get screwed that morning, and I would just never return to the establishment. When he gave me the revised bill, he had actually only taken $4 off, but I left it as is. There are far too many breakfast options in S. Tampa, so finding a new breakfast spot will hardly be a challenge. Here is a list: Pach's, Datz, Pinkey's, Mama's Kitchen, and Daily Eats, to name a few. My real issue here is the lack of flexibility and customer service. It was shocking to me that in this day of social media, where word of mouth is so much more accessible, this man would rather have me leave unhappy, than suck up $10.00 to make sure I would return. Clearly, they don't need my business...

Not bad, was only 3 tables sat this afternoon and our food took FOREVER! Had the steak and eggs, was decent, and a side of corned beef hash. Hash came from a can.... Cute place, but won't make an extra trip to return here. Unless I want to go to the cheese and wine store 2 businesses down :)

I hate to be that person but I just don't get the excitement re the brunchery. I went twice and although the place is super cute, service was very slow and the food just wasn't that good. Mine came out unevenly heated and reminiscent of a frozen dinner.

  • Matt R.

Decor is dated, but i think that's the point. Small place seats about 50 ppl. Even when packed, food comes fast. They get u in and out real quick, which explains the quick seating. Sig french toast was great, and i also loved their home fries.

Came here on a Sunday late morning, we originally were going to Pinky's Diner but it was too busy so we figured we would give this place a shot. Got there and there was a line out the door, about a 15 min wait. Once inside and I didn't realize how small it was . but it was cute as well. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered a glass of locally grown fresh squeezed OJ served in a mason jar which was very good. I ordered"The Italian" which consists of Italian sausage, onions, potatoes, green peppers, shrooms and Provo cheese. Again I did not know how big it was so I ordered a side of Coconut Pancake , yes as in singular. My omelette was HUGE , it looked incredible and it tasted even better. The Coconut Pancake was also excellent , it wasn't just coasted with shredded coconut , it was infused in it as well but amazingly It was not overly Coconutty ( yes that's a word for us Coconutters ) My friend ordered the Krab Omelette which was stuffed with alot of Crab and cheese, it was also very good. eggs cooked well, very light and fluffy but full of flavor. She also ordered a side of Biscuits and Gravy, they were OK, I thought the B&G we had at Trip's Diner in St Pete was much better. Overall we enjoyed our experience here and would come back for sure.Prices are reasonable and service was very good.

Great Tampa breakfast spot. Kids love the pancakes. Don't overlook the daily specials - seafood omelette was a treat.

The Brunchery was great. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The Bayshore Benedict was delicious. My brother ordered the banana nut pancakes, which were sweet and equally delicious. The atmosphere of The Brunchery is very quaint, you forget you are in a shopping center. The low key atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing breakfast. Wel'll definately be back.

This was my first visit to The Brunchery. I saw it when I went to a restaurant right next to it, and I wanted to try it. When we walked in, we were greeted by a smiling waitress, who told us we could sit anywhere we'd like. She took our drink orders, and they arrived very quickly. After a few minutes we ordered our meals, and I chose the "Morning After" omelette, which was 3 eggs, onions, peppers, and cheddar cheese. It normally comes with bacon, but I asked for no bacon.) For my sides I chose hash browns and rye toast. Our food arrived in under 10 minutes, and it was hot, and made to order. I have absolutely no complaints. The food was very good and the portion sizes were reasonable, but not too large. The decor is very quaint, with a "country southern home" feel. We chatted for a while, maybe longer than we should have, but we never felt like they were rushing us. They have a variety of menu options including benedicts, omelettes, quiche, crepes, waffles, pancakes, french toast, burgers, salads, and sandwiches. The various kinds of waffles looked yummy and I might try some of those next time. Overall, very comfortable and friendly, and the food was hot and tasty.

2 co-workers and I decided to try this place for lunch. We walked in and noticed about 5 empty tables that still needed to be bussed, but there was a sign that said to seat yourselves. We sat down and cleared all of the trash/dishes to one side. 2 gentlemen walked in after us, sat down at a table and were immediately helped. We sat for awhile waiting for someone to acknowledge us. After awhile someone finally came over and removed the trash and dishes. That was our only interaction with the waiter. No one came by to wipe down the table, no one came by to give us menus, no one came by to get drink orders, or to tell us they would be with us in a minute. The pictures of the food look good, but I will not give this place another shot, until they change their customer interaction.

Pretty good! I've had the stuffed french toast, next time I would get it sans the cream cheese filling, the belgian waffle (yum), and the banana nut pancakes....all delish. There's always a wait at this place, but for non chain, home cooked food...worthy!

Won't be coming back. Extremely disappointed for a local owned place with sub par staffing. Sausage had an extremely sour after taste and the next morning I'm paying for it. They did honor our Groupon. The best part of my meal was the club soda.

If you love crapes like I love crapes you'll love the Brunchery. The only problem is I could eat twice what they serve. Not sure if that's there issue or mine? LOL All a round good home cooking!

Walk in area was nice, very good hometown feel, cozy. Server was great, and the food taste was good. But it fell off from there. My potatoes (home fries) were cold, and I found a hard chunk of something not chewable in my sausage. Recommend a higher grade and leaner sausage meat. The front desk lady was not wanting to be there or was mad about something and didn't care who she showed that to, maybe she had something bad happen in her personal life and I am sorry for that, if that is the case. Overall, worst place I have had Brunch in Tampa.

The Brunchery has a very comfortable, homey atmosphere. Seating is limited so arrive early or expect a long wait. All of your typical breakfast fare is available and at reasonable prices with one exception: the fresh squeezed orange juice. The orange juice was practically the same price as my meal! Had the servers not been walking around with mason jars of orange juice I probably would have skipped the juice and stuck with my coffee. Nothing particularly special about the food at The Brunchery. The service can get really slow as the restaurant gets packed for Sunday Brunch. Great location, but there are so many other great brunch options in Soho that I tend to forget about The Brunchery.

Excellent place for breakfast or lunch. I will definitely come back and refer my friends. Located in a small shopping plaza next to some eclectic shops, very small, but they definitely make the most of the space. Cute restaurant with a homey feel. As we walked in, there was a young man playing guitar and singing some of our favorite alternative songs, which added that extra ambiance to our meal. He was really good and not overly loud so you couldn't hear each other. We were told to choose a table and have a seat, as there were several open on a Saturday at 12:30pm, but the place was buzzing. We chose a seat next to the musician. Our server was great, answered questions about the menu, and was very attentive. There were actually quite a few servers in the place, making for prompt service. Our food even came quick, so they've got their kitchen operation down as well! We ended up ordering the fresh-squeezed orange juice, which comes in a mason jar in a pretty large portion, and it was delicious. Not too pulpy and nice and cold. I ordered the morning after omelette and added mushrooms, with wheat toast and potatoes, and also a bowl of fresh fruit. All of the ingredients were very fresh, and it was delicious. I've had better homefries, they were just a little bland and could do with some seasoning, but they were still pretty good with some added salt/pepper. My boyfriend had the southwest omelette and he called it a "joy-gasm in his mouth" haha. So he approves. The whole meal, included OJ, our omelettes, and the two sides of fruit came to less than $30. We had a groupon for $28 worth of food for $14 so it was a really good deal, but I'd gladly pay full price for an experience like this. Wish this was closer to our house, but I'll gladly drive the distance to visit again.

The Brunchery is nestled in a strip mall of mostly independent businesses. The decor is simple and rustic. The server who greeted us was really friendly and the rest of the staff followed in suit. I ordered a staple breakfast item--2 pancakes, 2 eggs and home fries. My dining companion was a bit more adventurous and tried one of the breakfast crepes. His crepe was filled with scrambled eggs, peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheddar cheese. The crepe was light and contents were perfectly seasoned. The pancakes were just ok and the home fries were mashed up just a bit too much. Pros: WiFi Friendly staff Rustic interior Decent Prices

I have been here twice. The first time I had a granola parfait and the second time I got the tuna melt. Both of my meals were really good. This place is somewhat small for how popular it was. I was expecting quite a wait as it looked very full, but we were seated promptly. The wait staff was relatively quick both times. I very much enjoyed the yogurt parfait and my fiance' has enjoyed his larger breakfast both times we've visited. The tuna melt was very delicious, however, I was disappointed in the homefries paired with the sandwich. There was nothing wrong with the fries..they just didn't seem to go right with a lunch item. Next time I think I will try the potato salad instead. I look forward to coming back as The Brunchery is the perfect spot for, well, brunch.

Brunch is practically its own religion in South Tampa, so finding a place that does brunch well is not a challenge. What I like about the Brunchery is its down home feel. It's not a big commercial establishment that you will see on every street corner and I love the country kitsch that fills the place. It seems to me that it would be difficult to navigate the narrow space between tables with any type of stroller or child transportation device, but I have never personally witnessed this. The portions are generous, have great flavor and are priced well. The wait staff is proficient and friendly. There can be a lengthy wait if you come late morning on the weekends, but parking is never a problem as the restaurant is located in a strip mall with a huge parking lot. I really don't have a bad thing to say about The Brunchery!

Popped in after a cycling class around 12:30 pm .. cosy and friendly atmosphere . A little of a coffee snub I am (no starbucks is NOT the worlds best coffee ) ordered the house blend .. Omg it was so smooth with a hint of hazelnut. For lunch I had the artichoke and tomato quiche very tasty but the crust was very soft .. The portions were perfect ... Overall very good

I have been to The Brunchery numerous times...I am not sure what has happened to this establishment but it has become horrible. Today I ordered the cuban burger with homefries. The signature homefries were microwaved, the burger was ordered "medium" and it was served well done" and lacked flavor. The service is poor and no longer worth the drive nor the money.

I hate to say this since this place has been in Tampa since 1985, but it is time to go. They seem to be struggling as it is with Pane Rustica next door. The place is located in a plaza off MacDill. It is a small mom and pop style joint. The decor is simple and old-fashioned. There are not many waiters. It seems as though the place is being run by a family. The place is cute, but it doesn't make up for the food. When I last dined there, I got a Benedict as I always do (the eggs Florentine Benedict that is) with a cup of fresh squeezed orange juice. The juice was about 8 ounces, but I didn't complain since it must have taken about an orange to fill the glass. Then came the food... The Hollandaise sauce on my Benedict tasted like straight butter substitute. I have had a hard time making Hollandaise myself, so I just assumed maybe it wasn't their strong suit. I figured at least I could eat the homefries that tasted reheated. I wasn't completely turned off until my friend stated that her corned beef and hash was the same type she bought in a can. I did eat most of my plate, after drenching it in Cholula hot sauce to cover the taste. If I wasn't hung over, I wouldn't have made the effort. Needless to say, I wont be going there again. I'd rather go to Pinky's and deal with bad service any day of the week.

This place exceeded my expectations (and since I gave it 3 stars, I didn't really have that high of expectations, clearly). Would recommend not coming here on a Sunday -- I tried once and it was so busy and the wait was so long that we just left. Came back on a Saturday morning for brunch. The food itself here was surprisingly good -- I had the Benedict Mona. Home fries were underwhelming, though, and pretty bland. Service was fine. Cute little neighborhood brunch place... won't come back regularly but would probably go back if the mood struck me.

The brunchery, as a local to tampa I had never heard of it before and my aunt from Dallas wanted to try it. I walked in into the little cute old fashion place. Not bd setting but kind of dingy. From here it goes downhill. We had a waiter who I could not understand, the room was quiet so it wasn't to loud. It was that he mumbled the whole time. Then the food came. The waiter was handing out the food and he spilled some of my cousins food on me! Then all he did was mumble "oh sorry." Not cleaning it up and just still served food. So i had to clean it up. Then someone after i cleaned up decided to finally clean the mess. Now at this point everyone had food except me. The the waiter came out and said they forgot my order. So i waited another 20 min! When i did get the food it was and omelet with hash brown and toast. It was so bad! The hash was like undercooked and the omelet was cold. Overall this is not the place to go. You could go to a nasty diner for a better experience.

I'm all about the food - it was delicious! The service was ok. It took a while to get some attention after we sat down and throughout the meal, and they weren't terribly busy. The atmosphere was very homie - reminded me of my grandmothers house in a good way.

I read some other reviews for The Brunchery and was disappointed by the low scores. I have eaten breakfast here tons of times and even though the service can be a little slow for big groups, the food is great and they are always very friendly. If you're looking for a fancy meal, then this isn't the place to go but for a tasty breakfast or light lunch it can't be beat. The Belgian waffle is delicious and the feature breakfast plate with awesome homefries is the way to go.

I've downgraded this establishment for one simple thing. Over-cooked eggs benedict. Being a place where breakfast is the main dish you would think they would have enough practice. Alas that is not the case. When you cut into an eggs Benedict the yolk should ooze out and compliment the hollandaise sauce nicely. This didn't happen. Instead a over-cooked yolk not to mention a just par hollandaise. The only bright-side to my dish was the home fries which were pretty good only marred by the horribly executed eggs. My suggestion if you must eat here for breakfast or brunch, stay away from the eggs Benedict and quite possibly any eggs that you want cooked sunny side up.

This modest joint feels like your little old granny's kitchen. It is a warm down home boutique establishment and the prices are extremely reasonable. I went here to eat with my husband and grandfather for breakfast and we all agreed we would go back. The menu is diverse. The french toast is to die for. The orange juice was fresh squeezed. And the portions were generous. Pam was our waitress She was divine. I would recommend you ask for her specifically as she enhanced our experience. She was attentive and sweet yet not overbearing. Perfect joint if you are looking for a casual boutique dining experience.

The service was very bad. The waitress at the front motioned and told to seat ourselves yet others were escorted. We had to wait 5 mins for menus. The waitress finally came and only could find one menu! We had to ask repeatedly for our beverages. The service deserved a 0-1. The food was not very good. My pancakes were supposed to be chocolate chip and coconut. All it tasted like was chocolate chip. Where's the coconut? Also, I don't recall it saying it had walnuts. Thankfully, I'm not allergic to nuts. My sons teddy bear shaped pancake with pieces of fruit was cute. He devoured it. My husbands omelette with onion, peppers, bacon and cheese was OK. The home fries didn't taste homemade. Likely frozen. The waitress tried to push "jazzy coffee" on us. I asked what it was. It's like coffee with cinnamon but you can't really taste the cinnamon. Why would I even try it with this less than stellar description. Ok, I'll try it. Why not? Well, you can't taste the jazzy cinnamon! My husband was smart and just ordered the regular coffee. It was very hard to get a refill. We were ready to go back and refill it ourselves. Definitely won't be back!

Visted today for a late breakfast/brunch. I've heard nothing but good things and was excited to try this place out! There was a bit of a wait; so clearly it is a popular spot. The decor and atmosphere is very much a mom & pop family place. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with a side of hash browns. It was decent. Not the best meal in the world but very good and SO reasonably priced. I think next time I will try something a bit more exciting; such as their stuffed french toast or a savory crepe. The service was good.

I'm guessing that the rise of Pane Rustica a few doors down has impacted the Brunchery's biz... Pane is pricier though, so that's in the Brunchery's favor. I popped in yesterday to have a late lunch, and was soon the only customer (got there at 1:30) Pros: Fast service, a really great hand formed hamburger, easy parking, comfortable familiar atmosphere. The burger was the star here. The rest left something to be desired. Also: I lucked into a 50% off with a Facebook check in (limited offer it seems, but that was a win in my book and got me to go here over Pane) Cons: The server didn't ask what I wanted as a side on my burger and brought me this horrid, awful fried mess of potatoes. Apparently potato salad and fruit are available, but she didn't offer that option - the home fried glop went to the trash bin. Yuck. That kinda pissed me off actually, when I realized after that I could have had fresh fruit. Server FAIL The bench along the wall is the most uncomfortable thing I have ever sat on. Too high, no cushion. Epic fail in my book. Apparently they're slammed for brunch on the weekends.

I've got to be honest, after reading all of the good reviews The Brunchery had online, I was a little disappointed. In fact, had I not had a Groupon, I would've been very disappointed. I ordered the lox omelet, which came with home fries and toast, and an iced tea. I'm wondering if maybe their sweet breakfast items are better than their savory ones, as those were the ones most touted online. Nothing I ate was bad, and the home fries were actually pretty good, but the omelet, which was advertised as being full of "lox, onions, tomatoes, and cream cheese," had what appeared to be just salmon inside, not actual thinly sliced smoked salmon (lox!!). Other than that, though, it wasn't bad. I enjoyed my food, and I left full, I just did not get as high a quality experience as I'd expected. My friend ordered the special crepe of the day, which was listed on the white board as a spinach, bacon, and cheddar crepe. When it came out, it had asparagus and turkey in it. Ooops. They were gracious about it, though, and the waitress explained that they had run out of the original special crepe (meaning they are pre-filled? That bothers me a little) but the wait staff had not been notified, nor had the board been changed. Because it was the kitchen's error, they made a fresh spinach, bacon, and cheddar crepe just for us. Overall, the meal was satisfactory, if a little over-priced for breakfast. I don't know that I would choose to go again over the many other options in the Tampa area.

Bought a groupon here and they didn't honor the voucher. The food was priced inexpensive and the service was slow. Our waitress was not very personable. She didn't smile or even ask how our food was. Also, my cup of coffee was not refilled.

My best friend and I love The Brunchery! The service is wonderful and it has a cozy atmosphere. We enjoy the Brunchery Benedict, the krab crepes, the omelets, and the Sinful Delight coffee (butterscotch-flavored). We have been there several times and the restaurant is always clean and quiet.

Cute, Quaint and Kitschy! This place is fun, the decor is cute (I'm guessing the owners are Coca Cola fans) and the food is really good. I went here around 1 pm on a Sunday, so prime time. I was seated within 15 minutes and quickly had a steaming hot cup of perfectly-made coffee in my hands. I had one of the daily specials and my partner ordered a signature benedict. I had the artichoke, tomato and onion quiche (which came with a HUGE serving of home fries and a cakey, moist blueberry muffin) and my partner's benedict was a croissant topped with scrambled eggs, griddled asparagus, bacon and Hollandaise. I tried a bit (without bacon) and even though I normally hate, loathe and detest hollandaise sauce it was creamy and delicious. They offer a pricey glass of fresh-squeezed "local" orange juice that is definitely fresh. If you're used to pasteurized, processed gross from a can, you're going to hate it, but if you love the flavor of oranges and don't mind pulp, this is the juice for you. The Brunchery also does custom catering. I'd like to go back and try more of everything, especially the coffee. This is definitely a family-friendly joint, but seating is a little crowded and I'm not sure it's wheelchair accessible.

I hate to choose one rating that is really an average of two diners' opinions, but my 80 year old mother-in-law is not going do a Yelp review so here goes. We've dined here twice, and I have no doubt we'll be back as it is one of the aforementioned MIL's favorites. Thus far she has had the cold crepes, and the eggs Florentine. In addition to doing a competent job with each there is plenty of room to park her walker at the table and at 11:30-Noon on a week day (our typical arrival time when we go out for brunch or lunch) there is no wait. A native Californian she's still getting accustomed to some southern touches, like grits as a side, but this is safe middle of the road fare at a fair price. I had quiche with a side salad on one visit, and a half Reuben sandwich with a cup of tomato soup on the other. I would have liked the quiche crust to be flakier and a heftier rye bread for the sandwich, but again both were competently done. The service is another matter. The servers are pleasant and seem to be trying, but as a former server myself I was tempted to find the owner and volunteer to train his front of the house employees. He could cut his personnel costs in half with a properly functioning staff. Unlike other reviewers' experiences there wasn't anything outrageously wrong with the service, just constantly a step or two behind where it could have been. I don't know if it's new, but on this visit we were offered a loyalty card which gets you $5 off for every $100 spent. Is "best for little old ladies" a Yelp foodie category? It should be.

Went for brunch this morning and had a great time even though there was a wait which can make me irritable when it's my first meal of the day. The staff was friendly and the fresh squeezed OJ was soooo yummy, served in a mason jar, and less than $2.00 (unlimited refills too!). I ordered 2 eggs, home fries, bacon and wheat toast. Everything was good, but nothing truly stood out. I loved the decor and felt at home like I was in the country or something. I'll definitely go back and try some crepes or french toast next time!

We almost missed this little restaurant in a small shopping plaza due to construction right over their sign. Inside is homey and pleasant with antique tables and chairs, etc. Most of our food was well prepared (turkey sausage a bit dry), and we especially enjoyed the fresh squeezed orange juice, and our chocolate chip/ coconut pancakes. Some noise coming from rooftop workers on a Saturday morning. Overall, it seems like a nice neighborhood hangout, better than a motel breakfast and more relaxed than most weekend noisy restaurants.

I heard so much about the brunchery and was initially excited, but I was so disappointed. For some reason the food was watery, sounds weird but I can't explain it any other way. Ended up reordering a plain bowl of grits instead and which came out cold. I gave up!

If you want to wait an hour for breakfast or even to be acknowledged, go here. The service is unfriendly and Very s-l-o-w! They have a variety of eggs Benedict, which excited me until my choice arrived at my table. The asparagus they use is from a can. The food was cold. I was not impressed with this restaurant at all.

This is a highly rated local eatery, but its service is spotty and the cooking is hit or miss. The home fries might be the best I have ever eaten, and the pancakes are smaller and yummy. The downside was slow service, runny egg whites on the over easy eggs, and high prices.

Why did it have to go this way Brunchery? You have an awesome name...a good location, and even some cute decor. But than you went down a bad road Brunchery...I am disapointed in you! Things that sucked, in no paticular order *15 minute wait to be seated when there were open tables *waitress with an OBVIOUS drug issue who bitched about mismanagement (she was right there) people stealing her tips, and forgot our drinks several times *30 minutes for a glass of water *Food was COLD. If I am waiting over AN HOUR for food it better be heated right * Food, even if at proper temperature was 3 star at best. * Asked for no cream cheese on waffles (as did my companion) they were slathered in it *small portions * almost $50 for CRAPPY breakfast for four *when we told the lady owner about the lack of water she got rude and made excuses *man owner while seemingly sympathetic, chided us for not seeking him out...dude you bought a restaurant...run it. We got a coupon for a future visit. I don;t think so. We were not alone in our experience, other people left. Its too bad...there is always a place for good solid locally owned places like this.....to bad they sucked

I'm not feeling this place, especially not after getting sick from eating there. It may be a fluke, but what I can tell you is that you can get a better breakfast at Denny's or the Waffle House. Go to Pach's place if you want a better S. Tampa breakfast.

First time I've been since moving here to Tampa. My first mistake was bringing an out of town guest. The restaurant must have been 90 degrees. The wait staff never came to ask how everything was. I had to actually tell them how it was. No discount was offered either after suffering for the quick 30 minutes. We could not wait to get out. Could not even drink the coffee that was ordered b/c we were too hot. It was ridiculous. The person who took our check told us to sit in the back the next time. Well there will not be a next time.

Just had this for the first time today. Quaint location just off Macdil. Liked the Jamican coffee, good waffles and home fries. would recommend it. Service was attentive and nice. This place was pretty good! The food was good but the service was just ok. I think it had a lot to do with the fact that they were busy, but the waitress forgot a few things. All in all it was a good place, not the best breakfast I've had but it was pretty good. It's a small place, so I wouldn't go with a large group. Nice for families and couples. I'd recommend!

Nothing infuriates me more than bad breakfast. I had hoped this place would be decent, but was dissapointed. The first mistake was ordering coffee. It was weak. The second, and most egregious error was ordering the crab benedict. I mistakenly thought they would use real crab and was shocked when my eggs came out with a generous portion of imitation crabmeat. The "homefries" were nothing more than French fries. I'm none too happy with my experience. Perhaps the waffles and pancakes are a better choice.

We ate at the Brunchery a while back and things were good. This time very dissappointing. Coffee was weak. Grits tasteless, toast was made, allowed to cool then plastered with a cheap, bad tasting margarine spread that just sat there---bad. Grits also came with a container of the same awful spread. Home fries were precooked and just warmed over, mushy. Bacon was cooked into oblivion under a weight---it was flat, hard and dried out. Another precooked item just thown on the plate. I don't know what has changed here, maybe it's changed owners but the results are bad. The ingredients have been cheapened and the results are awful. Seems like no one in the kitchen knows what they are doing or cares. Or maybe that's the way management thinks they will make more money but all this will do is lose customers.

I will never return to The Brunchery. All together the experience was frustrating and disappointing. I waited for a long time for a table and then after being seated was ignored for over 20 minutes until finally the waitress came to take the drink order. She returned a while later with half of the order, 2 hot coffees, but didn't bring any cream or anything. I asked her several times to bring some to me and to bring out the rest of our drinks and that we were more than ready to order. She told me that she couldn't take our order before another table nearby or she would be yelled at. When we were finally permitted to order I was informed that I could not ask to have the sweet cream cheese sauce on the side of my waffle not dumped all over it, that it would simply be too much to ask and that the kitchen staff would likely refuse being they were so busy. I have never been told that before at any restaurant so I was a little taken aback. It took her what seemed like an eternity to come back with the order. Then to our disappointment realized that every last dish was cold! To top that off my cold, stale waffle was slathered with that cream cheese sauce! How hard would it have been to just put it off to the side or in a little dish or something? The bill was far too large for the amount, and quality of food we were served. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
