Brio has become our favorite spot. Best food happy hour in town. The pepper shrimp is absolutely phenominal. The shrimp are cooked to perfection, the eggplant is amazing (im no big fan of eggplant), then there is the sauce.... the cream pepper sauce is so good you want to lick the plate. I do the classy thing and soak it all up with their fresh baked bread haha. We get this every single time we come here. The beef carpaccio has become another favorite, it's not a dish that is going to stuff you to the brim, It's a flavor packed appetizer. The combo of the greens, thinly sliced beef, aoli, balsamic, and capers, makes for a delicious experience. The service is always great whenever we go (weekdays 5-7pm). Cocktails come out in a timely manner and so does the food. Never had a bad experience here. Can't wait to go back.

Decided to have dinner here at a somewhat later time than most people, so the restaurant was nice and quiet. The interior and exterior are very nicely decorated, it has always caught my eye every time I walked by during shopping at International Plaza. I really enjoyed how the chefs are apparently very open to substitutions for the menu items, I changed the pasta for my Pasta Brio order. I was hesitant on how the dish would turn out (i.e. too oily, too much sauce, overcooked pasta), but it ended up being really delicious, so much that I finished the entire portion there (rare occasion for me). It is definitely worth going to again.

I ordered the Pasta Brio, prepared al dente. It came out too undercooked. They remade it for me, and it was essentially the same. To their credit, they asked if I wanted them to remake it again, but I declined, ate what I could stand, and left. You can do much better than this. The lobster bisque, however, was quite good.

Why 4 stars, the lasagna was amazing, the wine was great, the setting was great and the service was good, its a good night out and you have the choice to sit inside or out and if it rains you are undercover so no worries. They have a great Bar, all in all it is a fun place and ok for the kids also.

And now introducing Troffiette! Sausage and Roasted Tomato Sausage is Rustic artisan-style pasta (Troffiette), chili flake, broccoli, rosemary, Parmesan, toasted bread crumbs. This braided pasta is the perfect shape, texture, and firmness that compliments the sauce and incredible flavors. The atmosphere, while not romantic, is very intimate despite the over sized columns and open space. The staff was friendly, but a bit disorganized due to the 4 pm shift change. My fiance had the Pasta Alla Vodka (Ricotta-filled pasta, spicy tomato Parmesan cream sauce, crispy pancetta, basil) which did not disappoint. Beware of the upsell to add lobster or shrimp etc to this dish. The pancetta is a perfect protein for this dish and others would take away from the perfect combination of flavors.

I absolutely love Brio! I've dined here many times, whether it's for lunch, happy hour, an event or a casual dinner and each time I have received top notch service and delicious food. The calamari for an appetizer is a must and the Pasta Brio is my go-to dish. As far as drinks go, the cucumber basil gimlet is great and either the white or red sangria, as well as the raspberry mojito.. Basically everything on the menu is yummy and worth trying lol

It's difficult to find a restaurant that understands the concept "less is more". It is not about many ingredients in one plate but about preparing the right amount of ingredients without losing their individual charm. I love their breads, soups and the bar is great. Nice ambiance, good service, beautiful restaurant.

If you are near Tampa Airport, this is a very good option. Two friends picked us up from the airport and 4 of us went here for a late lunch. Our friends who live in the area said this is their favorite Italian place. It's now our favorite Italian place to. For drinks two of us had the Sangria Rosa (with Vodka), deceptively light tasting. (5/5) I wanted another but decided not to cause it's midday and hot. The calamari is A+ (5/5) However, it's to much for 2 if you want to enjoy the main course. All 4 entrees met or exceeded our expectations. Another 5/5. The service was flawless to. We were seated on the outside and the vibe and view is perfect. Our bill was $103 for four. That's reasonable considering the drinks, appetizer and a salad add on. Our entrees cost between $13-$17.

For a chain restaurant, one of my favorites, although I am an Italian food junkie. Menu is varied enough for everyone. We were boring and both got the same thing....salad and lasagna. Bread comes out served with olive oil and herbs, very good. Salad was fresh and dressing amount was perfect. Lasagna was hot and tasty, both a plus in my book. Service was decent. Too stuffed for dessert this time, well most every time!

Went at a sunday evening and got seated right away with a 15 people party; very surprising. With dim lights and decor was very fancy perfect for a date night. Got a shrimp and lobster fettuccine was very good.

Finally! After a busy weekend, the husbeastie and I got to have a birthday dinner. I didn't want the usual places we go, so I suggested Brio, since I'd never been. He agreed, and though it was the beginning of Dinner rush, we didn't wait long at all to be seated. Our waiter, Chris, had a large section of folks to contend with, and handled it very well. We ordered an appetizer, and it too about 30 minutes to come out, but we didn't seem to notice, uet the manager did. She came over and apologized, and let us know that it was on her. (Nice, since it didn't bother us at all) No sooner did she let us know thst, than our entrees came out. The husbeast ordered lasagne and I ordered the Tuscan Pork Chops, the lasagne was good, the sauce flavorful and rich. The chops were a bit overcooked and thus dry, but the veggies were amazing as we're the potatoes. I will certainly return.

Nice, intimate and quiet type of place, perfect for a date. They have a nice happy hour menu that is more classy than typical bar food - it's just smaller portions from their regular menu. Get there early and grab a bar side seat - it will give you one of the best people watching spots in the mall.

I love brio! In any city they are the best! I go to the one in Jacksonville frequently and have just been to this one. Awesome! Great people watching at the indoor/outdoor bar. The food is always good and the drinks are cheap on happy hour. The happy hour apps are great. The spicy pepper shrimp is so good. The service is always spectacular. Great place for a chain restaurant!

Love, love, love happy hour at the bar. Loved introducing my besties to new foods and the bartender Stevie was amazing!!! He was very attentive and gave great suggestions on what drinks to try. Will definitely be back with my girls!

This is one of my favorite happy hours in Tampa Bay. I love it so much that I've started introducing others to it to make sure I have a community of Brio converts to meet up with here. The service is always top notch, food is super yummy (must try the black pepper shrimp!), friendly crowd of diners, and is very affordable. In addition, I really appreciate that even for the happy hour prices you're going to get a good crafted drink and not something small and watered down. If you're looking for a low key, hassle free place to enjoy quality food this is your place!

Brio is one of my all time favorites down in International Plaza. The drinks are always very tasty and affordable and the food is always delicious, fresh and well prepared. On my most recent visit this past Friday, I was there for a monthly happy hour with a friend so we just had drinks and appetizers. I really enjoy their pasta and I would have indulged had I not gotten so full off a work potluck earlier in the day. I ordered the beef carpaccio and my friend had the pepper shrimp which was served with eggplant as well as the burger. I tried everything and although the beef carpaccio is my favorite (they make it the best I've had in the states), the pepper shrimp was delicious. That additional element of the eggplant and the sauce really did it for me. This place is definitely one of my favorites (I think I've said that a couple times haha) so of course I will be back.

The service is great here stevie was really nice and gave me a try of the sangria Rosa to make sure I liked it before head it for me. Sat at the bar for happy hour 3:30-6:30 m-fri and mon-thur 9- close. The only reason for the 4 stars is it was a little hot with the doors open to the patio. The manager was super nice too she walked over and checked on me to make sure I liked my sangria . Keep up the good service

This place is not authentic Italian food; however, this is the only restaurant I go to when I'm at the mall. The service here is a hit or miss. Their Fra Diavolo is the only thing I really order, which is really good. I tried their spinach dip but didn't really like it because I feel as if it's too salty. I would recommend this place to those who are looking for someplace to eat while shopping, other than that I probably wouldn't drive out of my way to eat here.

The happy hour from 3:30-6:30 on Monday to Friday at the bar is amazing. The burger is so full of flavor and taste. The drink specials are unbeatable as well! I highly recommend coming here if you like fresh Italian food. Sean was our server and he was very friendly and gave great service. We will be back.

Went for my birthday dinner and it was amazing, the staff was so great, the food was awesome (definitely recommend the gorgonzola crusted lamb chops!) And they even recommended what may very well be my new favorite wine! And before we left the manager came over and gave me a hand written birthday card with a free app for my next visit, great touch!

I tried to go eat at Pellagia first till I saw the exorbitant prices and scooted my way up the stairs to here. There's a $4, $5, and $6 menu that includes appetizers and drink specials. That menu can only be enjoyed on the bar side. The regular menu can be enjoyed anywhere in the restaurant. It's an open air place, so bring a jacket at night as it's been a bit nippy lately. We had the eggplant fries. I was a bit weary of those as I hate the texture of eggplant, thus never eat it, but these were exceptional. The crispy cheese ravioli and margherita flatbread were tasty too. We had one of the pasta dishes with shrimp in it that claimed to be spicy, but wasn't remotely spicy but super tasty. I also loved the glass of Cabernet Sauvignon I got off the $5 drink special menu. Our waiter was very nice and attentive even despite the fact we strolled in to eat about 20 minutes before they closed. I am a fan.

We had a company lunch here with our own room on the second floor. It was a nice intimate setting and there were appetizers as we entered the room. Unfortunately, the food amount was not tremendous and we actually had a few pieces of uncooked chicken parm served to us. Definitely not impressed!

As an out of towner, i decided to check out International Plaza as it was near my hotel. I liked the outdoor atmosphere and the large menu. I ordered a happy hour cocktail and really enjoyed it, but then I ordered the Carbonara and that is where things took a turn for the worst. I was expecting homemade pasta with a nice cream sauce and enough chicken to fill me up....I was wrong. Instead I got a giant plate of soupy overly cheesy sauce with 3 small sliced pieces of chicken that sunk to the bottom and Gigli pasta, not your typical fettuccine style. It tasted just like hamburger helper, which i enjoy but not for $16.99 a box....which is what i paid for tonight. The spinach ( I couldn't tell if that is what it was) was dumped on top and sinking into the Velveeta style sauce as if it were quicksand. I am afraid to order anything else if I ever have to go back. The Staff however were amazing. The service was excellent and on top of things. I give them 5/5 stars and wish the food was as good as the service. less is more in this case.

Stopped in for lunch today at the bar. Although I work in the area I have never really dined at Brio other than happy hour(which offers great specials). I had the soup and Caesar salad combination which I loved! David and Keith were excellent behind the bar. They gave us wonderful service and were very attentive while dealing with a full bar top!

This is a nice place in the meathead/tool section of Westshore Plaza, right by the Blue Martini. We only came here because the bars were infested with psychotic soccer fans. It's a little upscale - kind of like a slightly fancier Maggiano's. I ordered the lasagna and it was decent, but not amazing. It certainly doesn't compare to mine. And for $20 with no sides, not even a salad, I was expecting a much larger portion so I was still pretty hungry upon our departure (hence my Pizza Hut check in a few hours later). The cheese was great, I'll give them that. But the sauce left a lot to be desired. Not very flavorful at all. And the meat wasn't anything to write home about either. All in all, not horrible, but certainly far from spectacular. If it wasn't for the awesome cheese and good service, this would be a two star review. Don't think I'll be back.

We decided to stop in this place for dinner at the international plaza. I normally try to avoid restaurants as part of the mall, but the concierge at the hotel, a NYC native, recommended it. The service was good and the food was pretty decent. I had the lobster bisque and a Mediterranean shrimp dish over rice which was pretty tasty. My friend had the veal and was pretty satisfied. Brio is a solid option if you're looking for a decent Italian place from out of town.

My "go to" restaurant in Tampa, is now my "never go to" choice at the International Mall. My waitress was terrible. Taking away plates I was eating from, without asking. Taking silverware and disappearing. Serving is a tough job and you have to like it ... if you don't like or not willing to do it right, get another job. This particular waitress should have a different job. The appetizer (Bruschetta Quattro) was just slapped together, nothing like it was on prior visits to the restaurant. I ordered the "chicken under brick" like I have many times before and it was awful and nothing more than cold, grilled chicken breast, dropped onto a pile of tasteless mashed potatoes and some sticky old marsala sauce dumped on top. Did I skip over the "wedge salad" Blah and not fresh. But the real kicker, was the Floor Manager coming over to ask how everything was. Apparently she was expecting a glowing report and was totally out of sorts when I asked her if she wanted the "truth". She then proceeded to argue with me about how Brio normally serves that particular entree. What ever happened to the "customer is always right" mantra? Just a guess, but I'll bet the International Mall Brio's has had a management change in the recent past and it hasn't been successful in my opinion.

Excellent stop for some good food!!! We went for my wife's graduation dinner and it was an excellent choice!! There were 18 of us and they handled all of us flawlessly!! The service was very good and the food was even better. I highly recommend the Pasta Brio it was awesome!!

This place had a nice atmosphere, great for a party or celebration. I had the pasta brio (their specialty) and wasn't overly impressed. It was very good, but not anything special. Same with the brio salad, it tasted like a typical salad. I will say, the desserts were awesome. Every single option looked delicious; I had the chocolate cake and mouse and it was fantastic. The rest of our table had the carrot cake and bread pudding and we were all raving about our dessert. All in all, I am glad we went and tried it, but I would not go again just because I would rather spend the money elsewhere. It didn't impress, but it didn't disappoint.

Went for a happy hour event last night. It was good I enjoyed it but I think it's overpriced for what it is. I had a glass of their house Pinot....wasn't a fan. Switched to Chardonnay which was good. I tried their spinach and artichoke dip which was yummy and their spicy shrimp and eggplant, which I enjoys. I also tried a bite of a friends sausage flatbread and that was tasty. Was a good experience, I just wouldn't put it up there as one of my faves.

We tried Brio Tuscan Grille out while in Tampa, FL on vacation with a family 4. I had the Gorgonzola encrusted steak and it was one of the best steaks I have had in a very long time. It was cooked perfect and the flavor was awesome. Service was outstanding and the ambiance of the restaurant was very comfortable. Great value for price paid compared to other restaurants in the area. We will definitely be back again!

Great service, great soups, great times. Honestly, this place costs less than you would think just by looking at it. Most meals cost around $10 at lunch which is extremely reasonable. It is so much bigger inside than it looks from the outside! There is a second floor even. I love the draping on the ceiling and the muted color tones. Try the soup! It is absolutely delicious. I tried both the lobster bisque and the tomato bisque and they were so good! They are creamy and have the right amount of thickness. I got the Pasta Pesto. I appreciate they have a menu of plates that are less than 550 calories. It was really good and it tasted fresh too! My fiance got the Casar salad with blackened chicken and thought it was good too. They bring sourdough bread and crackers to the table, which is always appreciated. Our server was the best I've had for a long time. She refilled my fiances coke constantly (which most servers don't notice, because he drinks it so fast) and kept checking in on us just the right amount of time. I will definitely be back for the soup!

I love Brio! They consistently have great food, drinks, and service. They have the best happy hour drink and food specials at international plaza. Their beef carpaccio is amazing. I've also tried the spinach and artichoke dip and hummus platter. Brio never disappoints. I strongly suggest taking a trip there either for lunch or dinner. It would also be a great place for business meetings. Enjoy!

This place is awesome. Great food, ambiance and service. The prosciutto and mushroom flatbread appetizer is sooooooo good. The shrimp and orzo entree is healthy and delicious. Only negative is that the dessert menu is not that great. Overall excellent.

You can get a "Pitcher" of Mimosa (Fresh squeezed OJ) or Beliini for only $20! That should be enough to sway many of you in to this place on a Sunday afternoon. I have had several of the pasta dishes and entree salads here and I have always enjoyed them. The Brio Pasta and like-named Brio Salad are both two of the best items I have eaten there. The vinaigrette dressing on the Brio salad is one of my favorite dressing of all time. Very tasty, indeed. The Brio we usually go to is right next to a Cheesecake factory. The beauty of this is that, even when there is an hour long wait at Cheesecake, I can usually stroll in to Brio and be seated in less than 10 minutes. In my opinion, the salads and pasta are better than their neighbor anyway. The service is fast and great and I have never had a bad experience here. The ambiance is Tuscan and kind of romantic. It would definitely be a nice choice for a date night.

I go to Brio regularly for lunch and on occasion for dinner. The food is delicious and the service is consistent. My favorite on the menu is the Beef Carpacio, which is an appetizer but I usually get it as my meal. It is plenty big for one person, has a couple crisp type crackers and a pile of dressed greens and lemon juice and olive oil. Very simple, nice presentation and relatively low fat as compared to all the pastas and other sauced items on the menu. They have a pretty good happy hour in the bar area but it does get busy so go early for best seating options.

This place is great. Took my girlfriend for Valentine's Day and we were not disappointed. There were a lot of people of course but we were sat in a timely manner. We also did have a reservation. The food was great. Ordered the calamari for an appetizer. Felt like maybe it could've been cooked a bit more but it wasn't bad. My girlfriend made her own pasta combo and the chicken was great and the portion was enough for her to take some home too. I ordered the half chicken, potatoes and vegetables and it turned to be really good. Service was also decent given the fact it was so busy.

Loved it here!! I didn't even know this place existed at International Mall. 7 of us went out for a girls' night & had a great time here. We shared 4 appetizers-spinach & artichoke dip, fried calamari, bruschetta, & some shrimp dish. All were amazing! Wait staff was excellent, did not miss a beat. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Limone that came with mashed potatoes & veggies. The mashed potatoes were kind of blah, but the rest of the dish was amazing! I cannot wait to go back for a date night with my hubby!

Courteous service, delicious food and lovely atmosphere. We sat outside and I enjoyed a peach Bellini and the pasta alla vodka with an added chicken breast. The beef carpaccio here is also the best I've ever had.The kitchen was slammed and our entrees were taking longer than expected so the manager came out to let us know they were aware the kitchen was behind, apologized on behalf of Chef Nikki and let us know the chef would come by for a visit and wanted to buy us desert. Chef Nikki came by after our meals come out from the kitchen (not too much longer after the manager came out) and apologized for the delay herself and presented us with desert options. She was a delight and the deserts were seriously amazing!!! Key lime pie, cheesecake and a raspberry cake with gelato were all to die for....so impressed with the service and the female manager and chef Nikki were so attentive and I was greatly appreciated. They are doing food and customer service just right at Brio, thank you!

Brio has become a favorite for my family this year. We have great food and great service every time we come here. We just ate here for Mother's Day brunch and had the opportunity to sit upstairs because they opened up the upper level due to the special occasion. If you ever need a place for a gathering, this would be a great place to have your event. There is a gorgeous outside deck and there is a bar and bathrooms upstairs as well. The food is always on point, I've never had a bad meal here. The people here are always nice and attentive.

Brio's is a nice little Italian place in the Bay Walk section of International Plaza. I have a client with offices in those high-rise towers out along Boy Scout, and so Brio's was an easy walk over and a terrific spot for lunch. If you're driving over to the mall, then park around back near the Cheesecake Factory and the Capital Grille, and walk past several restaurants and bars until you find Brio's right near the entrance to the mall. You can also park near the Renaissance Hotel and climb the stairs up to Brio. Even though we were there right at 12 Noon on a Friday, the place was only about half-full and we were able to be seated right away. The decorations inside the restaurant are Tuscan, giving the appearance of a villa overlooking the sea, and the service is definitely white tablecloth all the way. That is not to say that Brio's is stuffy or pretentious, but rather classy. Yes, this is an Italian chain restaurant, but it's a step up from the traditional Olive Garden, Carrabba's, and Macaroni Grill. The kitchen is open air, and the servers are quick to deliver a basket of freshly-baked bread and flatbread crackers along with your drink order. They have an extensive wine list as well as a full bar. I ordered the Brio's Chopped Salad to start, which is chopped greens with tomatoes, olives, onions, cucumber, Feta cheese and red wine vinaigrette. Then for my entrée I had one of my favorites -- Mezza Chicken Limone which is the traditional Chicken Piccata cooked with white wine, lemon and capers. That was served with roasted vegetables, and I substituted some Angel Hair pasta in lieu of the mashed potatoes. I've been here for lunch and dinner several times, and even hosted a dinner party in one of their upstairs private suites last year. Brio's is a very nice place for an Italian meal if you're over in the West Shore district, or shopping at International Plaza.

We went here before going to the airport to pick up my parents. We needed a quick cheap small snack. It is nice to know that Brio has small tastes of food for perfect sizes and prices and cheaper than going to the food court. You can bring your pet as well, but they need to be closer to the edge of the outside area. In the bar area during 3-7 on week days and 9 to close is when you get the yummy tasty appetizers for 3.95. In addition, the mojitos are excellent. I definitely like this place at all times of the day.

Brio was the perfect venue for my company holiday party! The great atmosphere and phenomenal staff made it a night to remember. From the first visit to see the space up through the night of our event, Betsy (the Banquet Manager) was wonderful to work with. She put up with my long list of questions and always answered phone calls and emails within a few hours. As soon as we arrived to set up, Taylor and Mike introduced themselves and quickly helped with everything we needed. Throughout the evening Taylor, Mike and their team were extremely attentive and polite. They went out of their way to make sure everything was done well. The private dining spaces are on the second floor. When selecting a location we had looked at museums and other unique spaces around town, but selected Brio because of how easy they made it. Tables, chairs, linens and centerpieces were included and already set up when we arrived, giving the room a finished look without requiring extra rentals and planning. The room we rented was across the hall from a patio overlooking Bay Street. Our guests enjoyed a cigar bar on the patio after dinner and the staff at Brio was accommodating with that too. The food was just as great as everything else! We selected three entrees (Chicken Under the Brick, 5 oz Filet and Pasta Brio) for guests to choose from and all were wonderful. Overall, guests enjoyed a memorable evening and the staff at Brio were easy to work with and professional. I highly recommend planning your group event at Brio!

Nice atmosphere but food and service disappointed. Sweet potato and chicken risotto was overly salty and tasteless considering the $19 price tag. The waiter could not get the drink order correctly, kept forgetting to replace plates that had food particles stuck on them. Our first time and most likely the last time at Brio.

My Hubby's favorite Italian Restaurant in Tampa area. We have taken friends here & all have loved it. Some of our favorites: You Must get Bruschetta Quattro! Most flavorful & different bruschetta ever. Their wedge salad is far above others. Bistecca Insalata Pasta Pesto. Yum Been many times, always great food. Some servers better than others but mostly good. . DOV. 10/25/14, 12/03/15, 1/4/15

I've been to Brio at other locations and enjoy visiting this one too. I ordered the bruschetta, a side Bistecca salad and the Pasta Pesto. The food was very flavorful and tasty. Our table also ordered the veal Milanese, the shrimp and lobster pasta and the chicken Milanese, all were very tasty. The restaraunt was clean, the staff were friendly and attentive, a very nice experience. We will be back.

The only dish I have tried here are the lamb chops only cause they are cooked to perfection.. The service is great and the waiting staff stay on top of everything never leaving you without the necessities or thirsty. Price is decent and they accommodate walk ins. Very nice ambiance and not too noisy.

This place isn't bad for a chain restaurant in a mall. It'd probably be good for lunch or for large groups for dinner, but this is not a romantic dinner restaurant. The drink menu is very reasonable. I enjoyed the Cucumber and Basil Gimlet. We started with the calamari, and it was fine not not as crispy as I'd like. The caesar salad was very acceptable. The bread they brought was quite good. We did not enjoy our main dishes, however. My husband had the lobster and shrimp fettuccine, and he thought that it was drowned in butter. I had the grilled salmon, and the salmon was a little overcooked, and I did not like the sweet balsalmic dressing put over it. I couldn't appreciate the taste of the fish because of all the garnish. If I came back, it would be for drinks and appetizers only. I will say that our server was very nice.

I really enjoy coming here with friends. We always sit at the bar. Food is always good but it seems like it takes forever...it's bad when you wonder if they out your order in or not. Service was alright this time. They checked on us often but when we asked for certain things they forgot and we had to ask another bartender. I would have given it four stars but the slow service is why I have it three. It's worth a try! Like I said I love the food!

We are new to the area and have tried many restaurants in Tampa. (Unfortunately we haven't had much luck.) We were shopping when we noticed this place and decided to stop in. I was glad we stopped by because I was very pleasantly surprised with both the service and the food. We got to the restaurant during dinner time, right around 6:30 PM, and they were pretty busy. We chose to sit outside because there was a short wait inside. Although they were busy, the service was fast and up to par. The waiter was very attentive. We tried the carpaccio and the Caesar salad as appetizers. The dressing and aioli on the carpaccio was delicious but the beef itself was a little... Well, just wasn't what I was expecting. The salad was great, nice and fresh with the perfect amount of dressing (I don't like very much dressing). When it came time for dinner, I ordered the Shrimp Verduta and my husband had the Sliced Steak Bruschetta. They were both superb! The pasta was cooked perfectly and the shrimp was tasty. Both entrees were great. For dessert, I had the cheesecake. It was different but I enjoyed it. We will definitely return to try other dishes.

Disappointing visit. Won't return. I had been to Brio before and it was OK. The food has never impressed me but they make a good mojito. My friend and fellow yelper went to this location for lunch on New Year's Eve. There weren't a lot of people so that can't account for the slow, neglectful service. My friend ordered a flatbread and I had a lobster bisque and a barbecue chicken flatbread. The lobster bisque came out quickly. After that, we saw order after order leave the kitchen and wondered when was the food coming. When the flatbreads came they were cold and we sent back. Later, there was a hair in my friend's food. Considering we both sport natural black hair, it wouldn't account for straight brown hair. Manager did take the food off the bill except my soup and drink. I don't think I will return. Surely I can find a good mojito in a place with better service and food.

This was my second visit to Brio Tuscan Grille (the first was their Winter Park location) and it was fine. Overall, the experience was fine. The food was good. The service was good. The prices were fine. We were originally seated outside but decided to move inside because the wind was picking up and it looked as though it might rain. Andrew, our server, was super nice about it and followed us in with our menus and waters. We ordered the Caprese appetizer as we were being reseated, having noticed it on the specials board for the day. As it arrived, we ordered our entrees, Pasta Pesto and the Chicken Caprese pasta dish. They were good. I loved mine (Chicken Caprese). It was just enough for me to eat half, and save the other half for later. Not too much pasta. Perfectly balanced with the farro and light vinaigrette sauce. Yum and yum. I would eat this again and again. The Pasta Pesto, however, was a little salty and overdone. My boyfriend substituted the gluten free rotini just to try it out and it was mushy. My biggest complaint in our lunch experience was the amount of time it took for our entrees to arrive. It was lunch o'clock, they weren't very busy, and we were at International Plaza. 25-ish minutes for an entree is a bit much. I even pulled the 'hey, maybe if I go to the bathroom the food will arrive faster' bit. It didn't. I would return to try out their Happy Hour.

Party there last night with a group. Calamari app was 4 on a 10 scale.I had grilled salmon; small and over done. 4 on 10 scale. The Caesar salad was lettuce, cheese and croutons. Not a hint of dressing. Also had the house merlot, very nice but very small pour. The meal was prix fix so I can't be sure how this place would rate on an "off the menu" basis. Couldn't ask for better service thanks to Mario and Susan. A food court location at a mall. That in itself usually loses me right away. This place is in good competitive company though and is probably great for jumping place-to-place on a better evening; the weather was cold for the locals.

Every time I've tried Brio it has been hit or miss. I think their standards have really declined since opening. Initially this was what I would have considered one of the best chain Italian restaurants in the area. Now, not so much. On a recent trip to celebrate a family members birthday, I called far in advance to make a reservation for a Sunday evening. given that they could not accomodate our reservation time, I thought it must be a busy evening for Brio. When we got there for our reservation, we were promptly seated and it appeared as though only half the restaurant was even occupied, if even. The service on this particular visit was very slow and it mystified us as there seemed to be plenty of wait staff and our was only covering one other table other than ours. I will say that the food overall was decent. I ordered an item off the lighter fare menu, which consisted of blackened tilapia and grilled vegetables. The rest of our table enjoyed most of their meals as well.

  • Michelle M.

Not my favorite Italian restaurant, but good. You can tell Brio is a chain... it lacks that "made from scratch" taste. My coworker raves about the lobster bisque, but I am not as big of a fan. All of the salads and sandwiches I have tried have been excellent, but I have had several misses with the dinner entrees. The shrimp and risotto sounds amazing on the menu, but in my opinion the flavors are off and the shrimp is poorly seasoned. The steaks are awesome, but last time I ordered a 5oz filet mignon I was served at 3.78oz steak. (I had ordered the meal to go and when I got home I thought the steak looked smaller than usual. Sure enough I threw it on my food scale and the steak was not even 4oz! I had ordered the steak medium so I find it hard to believe that the steak shrank that much. The prices are kind of high for Italian food so I eat more lunches here than dinners. Brio serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday until 3pm. The menu looks limited, but I would definitely like to try it as well as stop by the bar for their happy hour specials.

Food was good but nothing special. Two people in our group of four ordered the signature pasta dish which did not have much flavor and we were therefore disappointed--I expect a signature dish to be special. The Mahi-Mahi was good but not spicy at all which is what the waiter said it would be. The lemon chicken was also good. Service was spotty--we had two waiters taking care or us and both came by the table to ask how our salad was but neither came by to ask how the main course was or if we needed anything else. Also, had a long wait to get a second class of wine. The atmosphere is very good, however, the level of the food and service did not match the cost-in other words it was not worth it.

  • Phillip G.

As the Duke of Brio, I have created a new menu option for you. Next time you order the Lobster Ravioli, ask to have the Lobster Bisque subbed in for the lemon sauce. You'll thank me for sure. Also, don't forget to mop up that sauce with the delicious bread provided for each table. When properly mopped, your plate should be cleaner than before the food came out to you. Service is always top notch at Brio as well, another reason I continue to go back there so often. Thanks Dmitri!

Went for happy hour on a Monday...service was fast and friendly. Had tomato margherita flatbread and crispy eggplant fries...food was average, but the price was right. A glass of wine and 2 appetizers came to 14.00. Good for the atmosphere.

  • John B.

Our food was very average. The service was good and the place was nice looking. My wifes salmon was so overdone we had to send it back. My chicken piccata was too thin and had hardly any flavors. Very dissappointing for a place other people said was really good.

I sat at a table in the bar area for 40 minutes before anyone came over to even acknowledge me or offer a glass if water. The 2 women at the table next to me got their drinks, bread, and entrees before my waitress ever came over to acknowledge me. I finally had to walk up to the bartender to order my drink. Then the waitress came by about a minute later, and I told her I just put in my drink order. She apologized & said she'd check on what was going on. About 10 minutes later she appeared with my drink & a glass if water. She didn't leave me with a straw to drink my beverage with or even offer one, so I had to walk up to the bar yet once again to retrieve my own straw. Finally my bread arrived. By the time the waitress came back over to check on me, about 15 minutes later, I decided that I did not even want to try to order food at this place, so I got my check (which was way overpriced for the beverage I received) and left. I will never again waste my time at this establishment. I travel for a living, and I eat at a variety of different restaurants. I hate to make my first review such a bad one. Hopefully better ones are to come.

this place has really attentive service. the one thing I thought strange, however, is how many different people we were visited by to make sure we were ok. well, that didn't hurt the experience for me or anything. I thought I was really hungry, so I ordered the lobster bisque and the blackened tilapia, which came with vegetables. the soup was I think too big for an appetizer, because it filled me up and I had to get my fish boxed up to go home. the fish was from their lighter menu, where everything was 550 calories. it was pretty good. it's nothing special, but I had a good time. it's also pretty loud, and the tables are very long. I was sitting very far across from my friend...

Business dinner. First time here and the food was excellent. The menu is very straight forward and easy to understand. I started with the Lobster Bisque which was amazing. For the meal I went with the Shrimp Verduta, tasty and just the right amount. The only bad mark....... they offered bread with our soup and salad and it never showed up.

This review is strictly based on the upstairs private rooms since I attended a baby shower here. If I lived in Tampa, this would be my top choice for a place to throw my baby shower. Actually, my friend who's shower it was wanted this place after attending one here herself! The room was nice and most importantly, the staff was just perfection!!!!! They went above and beyond for every guest's desire! They were beyond accommodating! The food was great too. The tomato, mozzerella, and basil salad was a nice touch for an appetizer, as was the calamari which was great! I had the lasagna for my meal which I would give 3.5/4 out of 5 stars to, and it was served with a nice chopped salad beforehand (no cheese for me which they graciously accommodated!) They brought everyone to-go boxes, and then helped with the trash during the gift opening. The best part..the staff brought ALL the gifts out to the car parked in the garage and loaded it themselves! Nice touch and great shower!!!!

I always forget about brio and I don't know why. Each time I've dined there I've left quite satisfied and tell myself I must go more often. Maybe they need to advertise more to create top of mind awareness, or maybe it's just me. Maybe everyone else always remembers it and I'm the only one who doesn't. Anyways.... I met 2 coworkers for a Monday lunch. Although full, the place wasn't packed. All 3 of us enjoyed the soup and salad combo. I added chicken to my chopped salad and it was a nice touch. Luckily for me, the soup of the day was cream of mushroom-heavenly. Moderately priced ($10 plus the chicken I added) and centrally located, brio offers up fresh, beautifully prepared meals sure to please every palate.

I'll admit that my review should probably be a 4 star, but I was just a bit irritated at the amount of time that I spent looking for the Strawberry Balsamic Chicken Salad when it is only on the lunch and not the dinner menu. I bet they would have made it for me if I asked, but I had already settled on something else. My family was in town for the weekend. It happened to be the weekend I was sworn into the Florida Bar Association (to practice law) and we ate out a TON!!! So this was out last meal, and I was so well spoiled for eating at all our favorite restaurants in town that I just could not settle on a large meal that I probably would not finish. The prices seemed to be a bit steep for a $$ joint. It probably should be $$$. I didn't want to break my parents bank anymore than I already had all weekend, so my fiancee and I both got some Lobster Bisque and then we shared the Sliced Steak Brushetta and Margherita Flatbread. Wow, food was excellent! The staff was alright, but for how fancy they tried to make it feel, the staff was defiantly lacking in formalities and customer service. Nevertheless, they were not terrible. Also, I I want to point out that the Roasted Garlic, Spinach & Artichoke Dip was really good. The pita bread is very dry and crunchy, and it is sliced in triangles so you can kinda turn it into a spin dip pizza kinda thing. It was very well done and very tasty!!! I believe we drank Raspberry Mojitos, all of us, and we enjoyed them very much! My mom got the Filetto Di Manzo Toscano and really like it. My dad got the Chicken Limone and was also very pleased. The food was very good, but the staff could have been better. Moreover, I was hoping the price would be a bit cheaper than it was (I really did not want to break my parents bank). There were not upset at the price, but I was just trying to be frugal on their behalf, they wanted to celebrate! And finally, I heard so much about the Strawberry Balsamic Chicken Salad on others' Yelp Reviews that I was very disappointed to find it was not on the dinner menu!

I had lunch with my husband and a friend last Sunday. The service was excellent. The waiter was knowledgable and friendly and he had good suggestions. The restaurant decoration is very pleasant. The food was very good. My friend asked for a pizza with arugula and it looked fantastic. My husband had the wedding soup and he said it was delicious. It is a big compliment because my husband is an excellent chef! My food was also very good. I ordered a Bellini with peach for a drink and I didn't liked it. However, as soon as I notified the manager, he immediately removed it from the table as from the bill, which I appreciated a lot. That is what I call excellent customer service! Will I recommend this restaurant? Definitely yes.

I have been here several times and I have never been disappointed. I recently reserved a table for a very large group for a graduation celebration and the manager and staff went out of their way to make sure that all 25 of us could sit together despite the restaurant being really full. My original reservation was for 15 but we had some surprise guests come in from out of town. The staff accommodated us and the servers were excellent. One of the specials of the night was two pork chops which were a hit with several of our guests. The lobster bisque was also a favorite. Every one in attendance was happy with their meals and we will definitely consider having other parties or gatherings here.

I finally made it! I have walked passed this place 200x but since I'm not a fan of Italian food never stopped. What have I've been missing. I had the shrimp Mediterranean, it's a good portion size, comes with orzo in a vinaigrette sauce. It took a bit longer than expected to get our food but I was distracted with people watching so I didn't care as much. Prices are reasonable and overall good service. I expected for it to be very crowded for a Saturday afternoon but didn't wait for outside seating. I was extremely tempted by dessert ...seeing a try full of desserts to chose was hard to pass so I tried the chocolate cake shooter...excellent. Will definitely be back.

Great food, great drinks, and great prices! The patrons are beautiful and classy just like the sangria rosa and adult lemonade :) you must try the eggplant fries, spicy shrimp on eggplant, and bar burger. Everything's sooo delicious and inexpensive that you're bound to find something that you (and your wallet!) will love!

Mahi Mahi is superb. Excellent food, great service and very reasonable. Can't fault it. It is a chain so it's lacking in character I suppose but if you want really good food in a very well laid out restaurant where everything is as it should be you won't be disappointed here. Compares equally with the one in Waterside in Naples FL.

Excellent restaurant. Since this is just outside of the main part of International Plaza it feels as if you were on a street corner. The ambiance of the restaurant is good but the noise levels can be quite high if you are seated near the kitchen. The best location to sit is in the corner near where you enter the restaurant. The staff is mostly pleasant with the occassional bad waiter but those waiters never last long.

We went on a Saturday night and it was packed - very little space to walk in between the tables - bet the fire Marshall would not be happy. Our table was squished up against the plant shelf across from another aisle of tables. Only my toddlers could fit in the seats against the half wall. They were good with reservations. We had to push ours out 30 min an hour prior and they were able to accommodate that. Hostesses were nice. The food was great and came out pretty fast even though they were so busy. Service could have been a lot better. We only saw our server when he took the order and brought the drinks. We had to wave him down for condiments and the check - not good when your livelihood depends on tips. Loved their food but the space issues and service resulted in 3 stars. It was also extremely loud in the restaurant.

I like this place a lot. As a vegetarian, they have a "light menu" that has healthier menu items. This restaurant has a great happy hour, I think menu items go for 4-5$ each during happy hour which is pretty good. I've ate a lot of things off their menu, from the pasta to roasted spinach to salad to bruschetta (vegetarian) to their soups. This place is a great Italian grille, for a real american family they'd love their options. Pros: Great atmosphere Clean restaurant Huge menu Happy Hour is the best Great for groups Cons: Tables too close together Tends to get packed Variety for healthy food could get better Good but not great

When in Tampa and I do not feel like driving around I just leave the hotel, walk up the stairs, and stop at Brio. For a chain type restaurant it is very good and the service is above par. Also has a great atmosphere. I always get the Penne dishes as not to slop the linguini all over my shirt and tie.

My 2 stars are only for the cleanliness and nice ambience of the restaurant. The food, to be quite frank, was terrible. My go-to on Bay Street is usually the Cheesecake Factory where the food is almost always perfect, but I decided to try Brio for a change. I ordered the Chicken Limone. The chicken was bland, as well as the vegetables , it made it pretty hard to eat. The mashed potatoes were no were near as good the Cheesecake Factory's. It almost tasted like "First Class airplane" food as I would call it. It was pretty much the same on the two other plates in my party. In conclusion, the price of the food doesn't match the taste of it.

Great experience for our second visit. The food is excellent but our server was amazing and very attentive to us. We would go back just to have her wait own us again. The atmosphere is a little loud and busy but it was a Saturday. The food took a very long time but our server kept us very well informed. That saved our experience. If you want consistently good food, go here.

My friend had his 22nd birthday dinner here and I have to say I was greatly impressed with Brio Tuscan Grille. It opened awhile back across from where Bamboo Club was located, and it already has been the popular spot of many of my friends, especially for their birthdays. The place itself is beautiful, with lighting and decorations that make it look like a wedding venue and l was amazed that their prices are still so reasonable, roughly the prices of a meal at the Cheesecake Factory. There are draperies and even a staircase that circles to the second floor with an overview looking down to the first floor of the restaurant. The service was excellent. The waiters were patient for guests to arrive and brought out drinks and bread while we waited on the birthday guy who was running late. Waiters did not look upset or try to rush things but were patient and helpful. We sat at different round tables but were taken care of well by each waiter. Waiters were quick to take orders once we were ready and I never had to remind my waiter that I needed a refill, someone was always making sure my glass was full for me. I asked the waiter to box up my Mushroom Ravioli Al Forno and they accidentally threw it out, and despite me telling them it was okay they went back and made me a fresh ravioli, a true commitment to customer service was shown there that you don't see too often nowadays. The food was delicious. I already knew I wanted to try their lobster bisque, an appetizer that goes for $5.95, and it was so rich and creamy, it has to be one of my favorite lobster bisque soups I have had in Tampa. I ordered a Mushroom Ravioli Al Forno ($14.95) for my main course and it had the creamy Alfredo taste I was expecting, and even though there were only a few big ones on the plate I was stuffed quickly. I wanted to try their Tiramisu or one of their other desserts but unfortunately I got too full, now I have a good reason to come back soon though. :) Dining here was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone who loves some Italian dishes and a great ambiance to relax and have dinner with friends and family in.

I had not yet found my favorite Italian restaurant in Tampa bay untill I was introduced to this restaurant by my friend! This place was fantastic!! Everything we ordered was good especailly the appetizer eggplant and shrimp. It was so delicious. Everyone has to order Spicy Shrimp and Eggplant!! I have not yet had any bad dish here. I have tried their margherita flatbread, gorgonzola pasta, beef carpaccio, ravioli caprese and shrimp lobster fettuccine. The desserts....maybe they can do a little better but they weren't bad just okay. The service was good too. I Love the outside seats and atomasphere. However if you sit at the bar or high-top tables by the bar during their Happy hour, you will get some great deal! It is definitely the best restaurant at the International Plaza and my favorite Italian in Tampa bay. Yes it is a chain restaurant but damn good one. I have to say it is a well managed franchaised restaurant with great food and great service along with good price.

I typically steer clear of reviews of any chain and normally try and stay away from chains in general. I was however invited for a Thursday evening girls night. I was pleasantly surprised to be honest. First off, Thursday evenings are $5.00 martinis. Yes Please, I'll have another! I started with a lemon basil martini and was pleasantly surprised when it was fresh lemon juice, fresh basil and in a normal size glass. It was a very nice fresh cocktail and I ended up having a few. On the table, they provide a tasty flatbread which isn't the typical bread basket but it was flavorful and not too heavy. For dinner, I ended up ordering an appetizer. I ordered the beef carpaccio which was served on a massive platter. While it's only 3 ounces of beef, the platter makes it look like you're a pig and eating a massive amount of food. Since it's sliced paper thin, they layer them around the platter and serve it with a small salad in the middle, a nice mustard sauce and 2 more of the same flatbreads. So maybe not the best item to order on a first date for a female (haha!) It was definitely enough for dinner and a very good price point. My friends ordered different flat bread pizzas and dinner salads. All were fresh and by the sounds of everyone moaning with each bite, they all enjoyed them. For dessert, we ordered a trio to share. They brought out 3 very nice small desserts of creme brule, cheesecake and a bread pudding with dollop of ice cream and the 6 of us shared them. Overall, a very nice experience. Very clean and tastefully decorated inside. A nice patio outside to people watch. A huge bar area which I want to come back to because they have outstanding happy hour prices on appetizers I was told. Service was outstanding. Very courteous, always there to check on us and refill our martinis and water glasses. I would recommend for a different experience if you are shopping at International Mall.

This review is not for the restaurant portion of Brio - it is for the Bar Happy Hour. You cannot beat it. Weekdays at the bar until 7pm, you can feast on a variety of "starters" for $3.95. The best thing on the menu is the Beef Carpaccio. Find me another location you can Beef Carpaccio for $3.95! You can also get a variety of flat breads, lettuce wraps, spicy shrimp & eggplant, or an entire Burger - only $3.95. I suddenly feel like I am singing Brio's version of $5 foot long! Speaking of $5, they also have $5 cocktails during their happy hour. Everything from martini's (cosmos!), sangria, mojitos and wine. Whenever my best friend comes in town to visit, we always hit up Brio on Friday night - then shop in International Plaza, and end the night at Blue Martini. It's the perfect girls night out.

This place is beyond ah-mazing! I've only dined at Brio twice; once for my sister's rehearsal dinner and once just for a Sunday dinner. Both times the food was SO good! The atmosphere and service have been stellar each time I have visited. And the food; YUM! I haven't tried all that much on their menu but I DO know their Chicken Milanese is so light and filling at the same time. The Pasta Brio, a simple rigatoni with chicken, mushrooms and a tomato cream sauce is absolutely delish! Last night, we tried the calamari and it came with a few fried pepperocinis as a surprise and it was perfecto. I haven't been to their happy hour but it seems like a great deal and I plan to check it out, soon. If you haven't been to Brio yet, GO. You won't regret it.

Actually really like this Italian place, love the atmosphere! The bread basket is always yummy. My favorite thing here is the mushroom ravioli, so delicious!!! I have had a few other items from the menu, they were good but I always seem to order the same thing! They have bite size desserts which is perfect, love the cheesecake one! Yum!! Service is always fantastic, nice stop between shopping!! :)

I wanted to try this restaurant because I thought I smelled something delicious when passing by. The ambiance was nice, elegant but not stuffy. The waiter was prompt to take our order. We ordered the carpaccio and starter salad. They were both tasty. Sourdough bread was too sour. We ordered half roasted chicken and shrimp mediterranean. The chicken was dry and the roasted carrots tasted a little not-so-fresh. The shrimp mediterranean was salty and tiny portion. Maybe other entrees tasted better but weren't too impressed with what we got...

Brio push so hard to get some crowd in there with its Weekday Happy Hour deal, but Oh No! the bartenders there suck! They always did. There was one really good one, I think his name is Brian, but he is no more there. I was diligently going there for years, bringing my $70 to the bar, and was sucking it up: it wasn't terrible, you had to wait for attention somewhat, but overall it was just ok. Until last night. I just got tired of waiting for a drink at the empty bar with four freaking bored bartenders!! Never again. I hope Tampa Bay has few places left where the food is fine and the staff is adequate.

Dined here for the first time last Thursday night for dinner. I was with a group of girlfriends shopping and they all said this place was excellent. And they didn't have a wait! The service was excellent. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. Our food came out at a good pace. I started with their house salad which was good size...I didn't even finish it because I wanted room for my entree! I also had one of my friend's bruschetta, which had bleu cheese and steak. A bit messy, but delicious. For an entree I had the Pasta Alla Vodka, which was wonderful. The pasta was similiar to tortellini...perfect pillows of pasta stuffed with cheese. The sauce was flavorful and loved the pancetta topping of course. The atmosphere and decor is also very nice. The lighting is just the right amount of dim. Would be perfect for a romantic dinner. The price is a bit high, but not too bad. Definitely worth it for a nice dinner out.

Olive Garden who? Macaroni what? Carra-boos. This is your new go-to chain Italian restaurant. The food is delicious. Put the other chain Italian places to shame.

Brio is a large Italian establishment in the International Mall area. It definitely has all of the look of a classy Italian restaurant, but the food is just ok in my book. The atmosphere is great and the clientele tend to get dressed up, but I would put this somewhere in between the Olive Garden and Maggiano's in terms of what they deliver. If you are at the mall shopping or are looking for an area with some nightlife, this is not a bad option - just don't go with the expectation that you are going to get the best Italian Tampa has to offer.

Enjoyed going to Brio for lunch. Service was prompt & thorough. Their menu had plenty of healthy choices along with their standard dinner menu. I ordered the Blackened Tilapia and it was seasoned well & came with steamed vegetables. A very good light lunch meal.

Great crab and shrimp cakes and awesome roasted vegetables. The restaurant is clean and fresh looking. I only gave four stars because the day we were there they were obviously short on waiters. We waited a while for drink refills and condiments.

An amazing second dine here. The service is very fast, attentive and super friendly. The servers are highly educated in all aspects of the food they are serving and never have to tell you "let me ask" the portions you get are well worth the price you pay. Upon ordering dessert, you are presented with a 5 minute detailed description with a live desert tray so not only can you hear about them, you can see them before you order them. I had the creme brûlée for dessert with upside down cheesecake. Phenomenal! For the entree I had Alfredo. Which was also very good. You won't go wrong dining here!

Went for lunch while visiting my daughter in Tampa. Very pretty place. She had the Chicken Pomodora with angel hair pasta instead of penne and I had the Tuscan Turkey Sandwich served with orzo and grain salad. My daughter tried mine and loved it. Going to Tampa this week and we will have lunch here again and both get the Tuscan Turkey Sandwich.

Typically, I like to write reviews for places that I've been to more than once (unless I know I won't be going back for whatever reason like different city/state) but this one takes the cake. This review is specifically for a private room experience. Brio, you succeeded in making us feel like you took our $1350+ bill and run away like you stole it. At $30 per person in your own VIP room, I'm sure you'd expect to get at least a decent experience. But that wasn't the case here. Here's an awkward question to be asked by your server. "Would you like pasta or salmon?" Wait a minute. So I'm being asked to pick one or the other. Riiight. I'm a best-of-both-worlds when it comes to food, so I ask for both. And my request is shot down. It's a set menu so those are my only two options. Strike 1. There are only two servers taking care of a reservation for 45 people. Hold on: make that one. The other just disappeared for the latter half of the night. And all I'm asking for is a Coke. That's okay, I'll just go to the bar and get it my damn self. Strike 2. At the very end of it all, you're telling me that, at $30 a head for a group of 37 very well dressed people including one 21 y.o. birthday girl, you're going to bill us for 45 people? Your food wasn't even prepped. We still had to wait 15 minutes for our food to come out. So you can have either salmon or pasta (but not both), 1 1/2 servers on average, and you still bill us for food that you didn't even cook? Really? Strike 3. G.T.F.Outta Here, Brio.

It's a chain and we usually avoid them with a ten foot pole, but we'd heard good reviews and where else are you going to go in Tampa? I went with the Grilled Salmon Salad (Roma tomatoes, asparagus, Feta, crispy shoestring potatoes and balsamic vinaigrette 14.95) It was okay, but they forgot to include soggy lettuce in the description. Adam liked it better than I did and was able to finish it off. He liked it better than his Pasta Alla Vodka (Delicate Ricotta filled handmade pasta, with crispy pancetta, garlic, basil and a spicy tomato Parmesan cream sauce 15.15). Adam says, "I've never been to Tuscany... I guess I don't need to now. Why would anyone eat this food?"

Been a fan of Brio for years-- used to drive all the way to Orlando to go! Not sure whether the novelty has worn off but, either way, haven't been too impressed with the meals at this location. Best meal was restaurant week, where I had chicken parm & delicious wine, salad & dessert for a small fraction. Enjoy their ravioli app and their wedge salad the most. Don't recommend the brunch unless you're a "sweet" brunch lover-- had a quiche thingie that was too sweet and rank sour fruit on the side. Every other item was sweet-- come on, give us salty, savory breakfast lovers a chance, too! I will give them props for the unexpected hot coffee at breakfast and, as always, for the fantastic wine list. Oh, and sit on the patio. You won't regret it// people watchers, get ready...

I went to this restuarant expecting a semi-authentic Italian restaurant but...it's more like Olive Garden's pretentious sibling. I ordered a spinach chicken pasta dish and it was really unimpressive. It tasted like it came from a microwave. There was nothing fresh or flavorful about this dish at all. On top of that, our waiter took about 15 minutes to come greet our table initially and the service pretty much continued that way the entire meal. It took forever to get a refill and I could see plenty of staff just standing around talking. We went for an early dinner, so maybe this was just an issue of timing but honestly for what they charge and what they present, I really expected better.

Very nice (upscale more so) atmosphere. The food was delicious. I had lobster ravioli and the Hubby had an insanely large lasagna. I was slightly disappointed however because they did not have any dishes with pesto sauce and that's what I was craving. I must say that their garlic, spinach, cheese, artichoke dip is by far the best I've ever had. Served with baked flat bread, so it's crunchy. Note that the layout is so that the outside areas freely come inside, therefore the humidity can get inside easier than other restaurants that are fully enclosed.

Went for brunch on the weekend and it was nice to see that they had a special brunch menu as well as their usual lunch menu. The service was pretty good. Food was delicious. I got the shrimp and crab crepes with mixed fruit and potatoes on the side. The dish had just the right amount of hollandaise sauce and it all tasted amazing. I also didn't feel overly full when I was done with my meal, which is always a plus. Though I usually tend to stay away from chain restaurants, I'll probably be returning here in the future. Definitely a good and satisfying meal.

Literally the worst service I have ever experienced at a restaurant, and I almost never complain about service. But I'm pretty sure it was an isolated incident based on our waiter. It seemed like he was new and extremely overwhelmed. I felt bad for him until we gave the check to the manager instead of him, and he gave my girlfriend and her dad dirty looks, an eye roll, and a backhanded rude comment when he learned what we did. The food was good aside from the hair in one of the salads. Read on if you would like to hear about this laughably horrendous service. The whole mall area was mobbed so were were pleasantly surprised that we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. All downhill from there. We were seated and then no one addressed us for about 20 minutes, maybe more. No water, no drinks, bread, nothing. The waiter finally came up and only asked if we wanted some appetizers. We said how bout some water? By the time we got the water we were ready to order our meals and were forced to order wine, salads, and entrees all at the same time to eliminate the risk of being ignored again. We gave him relatively simple orders, 3 entrees, 2 salads, and 4 glasses of wine to take care of our whole 4 person party. He came back about 10 minutes later, told us "someone" had spilled a drink all over the ticket he had written our order on, and that he needed to write down our drink orders again. We said sure, it happens. Got through the drink order again and then he tells us we have to go through the whole food order again too. At this point he was clearly nervous and probably had a bad night already so we tried to be as forgiving as possible, but it was tough not to joke about it a little bit when he left. I understood because I knew what it was like to be frazzled as a new waiter and have had bad nights for sure. A bit after that, one (very) small salad comes out. We had to leave it for another 10 minutes because we were still waiting for another salad. Finally an expediter comes out and gives us the wrong salad. Our waiter follows up and says we can keep it and that he will take it off our check and brings out the correct salad. It has a huge hair in it. Another expediter comes out with 2 MORE salads while the waiter is standing there and says "take them all, eat up, I will take them off the check." So now we have 4 edible salads at our now cluttered table, and 1 hairy one. We eat the 4 small salads between all of us and try to forget about it. Then he walks by us with a tray of two martinis for a table outside. Opens the door, drops the tray and the glasses shatter everywhere about 5 feet from where we were sitting. Couple minutes later he brings our entrees out while we still have this abundance of salad. Amazingly he got the entrees right. Walked around to each of us and loudly says "CHEESE? CHEESE?" Eventually got through the meal and one of us needed more water, he came back and filled her glass a little less than halfway and didn't come back. Got the check, he charged us for THREE salads, even though we only ordered two, and he gave us five, and one had hair in it. Ridiculous. So my girlfriend's dad is just pissed at this point and finds the general manager. Tells her what happened and that there was no part of the service that went the way it should, and she comped the entire meal. The waiter comes back and asks for the book, and we tell him we took care of it with the manager. He got this BAFFLED look on his face like he couldn't believe it. He asks us if there was a problem with the service. So awkward. We again tell him don't worry about it we took care of it. He PERSISTS, and tries to figure out what part of the service was the problem. We all kind of chime in and just say it wasn't very good service, as nice as we could be, and he puts on this pouty face and rolls his eyes and gave us a very sarcastic "ohhhh okay", and walks away shaking his head. It was mindboggling that he couldn't figure out why we thought the service was bad! Again, I think the incident was isolated and the food was good. I was there for a work function upstairs the week before and the food was great. I wouldn't try to get people to not go there, but pray you don't get this waiter and/or hope that he gets canned by the time you go.

This is the second Brio that I've been to, and I have to say the food was excellent once again! It's located in a higher end shopping plaza near the Tampa airport with all kinds of other nice restaurants, bars, and fabulous shopping! The wait service was exceptionally friendly and the food came out very timely. I had the steak bruschetta (omg. amazing) and their version of eggs benedict. It was all so good. The atmosphere was beautiful, especially the outside. It was draped in white cloth with pretty cream colored couches and tables. It looked like the perfect place to sit after work with a glass of wine. I will definitely be returning to Brio :)

A couple of tiring vacationers were grateful to them for offering substantive and decent happy hour appetizers at $3 a pop and wine at high-but-not-exorbitant prices. Our server was pretty blatant about her participation in a contest among co-workers to sell the most bottles of a certain wine, but if it had stunk we would be the ones to blame for ordering it. Fortunately, it didn't. Torre de Luna Pinot Grigio, if you were wondering. A bottle of wine and three small plates and lots of people watching (we're not from around here, so maybe that's why we found all the high-gloss folks so fascinating) made for a nice couple of hours. The fried ravioli was too breaded/greasy for me and not enough like actual pasta. The red pepper mozzarella bruschetta was OK but would be slightly improved if they either diced the red pepper or roasted it and removed the skin. As it was, one part-cooked piece of pepper was chewy and big. The caprese flatbread was my favorite once I sprinkled it generously with black pepper. All the dishes were 'almosts' -- just not quite great! Still, three appetizers totaled $9 and nearly made a complete meal. The crowd inside was mostly groups of people coming straight from the office. Well-dressed and sipping cocktails. It got fairly noisy and pretty warm thanks to the summery heat and the open patio.

It was only appropriate that my company decided to hold a dinner at Brio recently, as it translates to "liveliness or vivacity" and that perfectly described how we were all feeling after being in a meeting for two days. We had a private, upstairs room reserved and appetizers were already out upon our arrival. We began with the roasted red pepper bruschetta which was a nice spin upon traditional bruschetta. We also had calamari which was served with marinara sauce. We were forced to order off of a pre-set, fixed menu, so I began with the Brio chopped salad which was served with a red wine vinaigrette. For my entree, I went with the Pasta Fra Diavolo with chicken. It was pretty good, but I wish I had gone with the filet as some others at my table did, and it looked delicious. I passed on the dessert, so I cannot comment on that, but overall I definitely enjoyed my meal at Brio. I definitely recommend it for private parties, as the upstairs area is very nice, and you are away from the noise and bustle from downstairs. I would love to return one day on my own when I have access to the full menu!

WOW!! What an awesome experience! Mario, our server made the evening spectacular! Want him as our server in every restaurant we go to. Every entree was perfect, especially the Sweet Potato and Chicken Risotto. Special orders were handled smoothly and we LOVED the "shape and bake" bread for the youngster in our party. Absolutely delighted that the Cheesecake Factory was too busy for us. This was an awesome dining experience- a true pleasure.

I love this place! Okay, first of all I am a sucker for design and architecture, so I love their building. This restaurant is attached to the mall and I love the atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating and it's like you're walking into a villa or something. They menu is pretty large and somewhat authentic...as in it's not just basic noodles and sauce. My husband and I both had the Risotto, which was yummy. The bread they give you is yummy, and they also give you these sesame seed crackers or wafers that have a great flavor. It is a higher priced place, so I would understand if that turns some people off, but again, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is beautiful.

A nice chain italian joint in International Mall. Consistently good food. Usually get the Pasta Fra Diovolo with shrimp and like the little spicy kick. Good food not too expensive, not the best italian place but worth it. Wait time not usually bad compared with the other Imall restaurants

Not a bad place to eat. The food is good but i think that it could be a little cheaper. I have been here 3 time since I've been in the area and each time I tried something new. The BRUSCHETTA sampler is my favorite menu item. It is not an appetizer but they will allow you to use your free appetizer card for one if you have one. The only negative experience that we had was the time where they were out of a few of the items we ordered. The waitstaff did not bother letting us know that they did not have our appetizer until we had been seated for 15 minutes. We were also not informed promptly when our menu items were not available. That happened twice in the same visit and they was not visit from the manager to apologize. No one bothered comping anything or even offering a free dessert. If i am with a group and they decide to eat here then I will not protest but I will not be leading a group here because there is nothing that is overly unique about this place.

My boyfriend and I go out to eat regularly and we now have a new favorite in Brio Tuscan Grill. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and our server, Luc. Luc promptly put our appetizer order in along with our drink order (and made an excellent martini suggestion for me). We both ordered pasta dishes (pasta alla vodka - our servers choice and lobster ravioli). Both were excellent. After dinner we ordered the trio of dessert, but we weren't quite ready yet, so Luc made sure to wait for us before putting out dessert order in. He gave us the bill telling us there was no rush. It was pouring outside so we were in no hurry, we paid and sat for a little while and didn't feel like he was trying to hustle us out. In fact, he offered for us to use his own personal umbrella when we were getting up. All in all, wonderful experience with food, staff, and ambiance.

Brio is located in a high end mall near the Tampa International airport. The mall is a gathering place for many on Friday and Saturday nights. Brio is mixed in with several other high end bars and restaurants along one entrance to the mall. The overall vibe is nice, with plenty for people watchers to look at. Valet parking is available right at the entrance to restaurant row. Brio is one of my wife's favorite places to eat. We had dinner their today and spent $95 plus tip. She had: Crab/Shrimp cakes with roasted potatoes and fresh veggies and a very tasty watermelon martini to drink. I had: Bistecca Insalata for starters and the lamb chops for the main course and a glass of Shiraz wine. We both shared a desert trio (awesome bread pudding, tasty creme' brulee and a raspberry cheesecake /tart thingy). We washed the dessert down with a double espresso for me and the wife had a very good cappuccino. The ambiance is very nice, we were greeted with a smile and service was excellent. Yes, the meal was a bit pricey, but is was excellent and we enjoyed ourselves. What more can one ask for?

My wife and I whent there last night for a Valentine dinner, and it was wounderful.... we had to take the youngest baby with us but no big deal, one of the staff saw us with our baby and Wow our Baby Laila was cutting the fool, and a staff member came to our tabel with a ball of raw dough in a small plate, and it was like magic. She played with that dough like it was the best thing like fried Oreos at the fair, and they are good to, and my wife and I injoyed the rest of our meal with nobody looken back at us... like please keep your kid under control. So in short if you can not find a babysit, Brio is the spot for you. And the food is great to.

This is a wonderful find. While on a quick weekend get-a-way for my wife and myself we found this wonderful restaurant. Located in a perfect area that combines dinning and shopping. The wait staff is GREAT, something in its self to be said for still being able to find good service these days. Our waiter made us feel right at home, in a wonderful atmosphere. The music was soft and low, the place was decorated beautifully, and the service and food was EXCELLENT. My wife and I enjoy italian food, and have quite often visited Carrabas italian grill and we would rate Brio above any experience we have ever had to Carrabas. We had the bread they bring out before your meal, followed by a wonderful spinach artichoke dip, then our meals were one of a blend of italian and seafood combination to die for. Again these suggestions came from our wonderful waiter and his suggestions did not disappoint! Only hurting yourself if you don't stop and have a dinner at this restaurant! Stop by and enjoy an evening for yourself!!! We know we WILL AGAIN!!

What a treat! Great atmosphere, service ,and modern Italian modern cuisine. If you love Italian food, but are tired of the same dishes served over and over, this place will delight you.: shrimp over crispy eggplant and, marscapone cheesecake in a custard sauce could not have been better. And the drinks are cutting edge classy, too! I had a wow! pear basil mojito. My server was attentive and accommodating, but I would have liked him to be more upfront regarding the pricing. I was looking at the $5 drink specials and he steered me to other choices without mentioning that they were not part of the special promotion. Also, I asked for a small "side" of the risotto, and he said he would see what he could do. What he could do was to give me a half size of the $14.00 dish without the salad, but I was shocked that only a dollar was taken off! The manager who apparently originally approved this "deal, " took it off my bill.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
