Wonderful little place which I found because of the Yelp reviews. The staff are friendly in an irreverent way which adds to the attraction of the place. We order the Cuban sandwich and it was excellent. The bread was great and the meat was lean and very tasty as well. Will definitely go back there again although it was a bit of a trek for us. Highly recommend it.

Love the sarcastic and super funny signs and comments all over the shop! Entertaining reading while u wait for your freshly made to order sub.....takes a bit.....but soooo worth it. Berta and staff are super sarcastic n super sweet n friendly. I love a Lil bold n risky humor!!!! I Love that! It could be a little cleaner n definitely use a make over of any sort....BUT it's a mom n pop business n I get that....it's hard to survive these times. I loved my warm toasted cuban bread sandwich. The meat was tasty n not fatty nor grissly. ...can't stand grissel.....however, it's spelled it's gross. Most cuban sandwiches in miami are loaded with fatty meats....totally gross! This one was wonderful lean n mean. My husband's meatball sub was good too with lots of melted cheese. I Like their crushed ice fountain soda in a super sized cup that we shared! So .....not much curb appeal, but has lots of hunger appeal to curb your appetite! I'll be back fo sho! :)

Great sandwiches, and excellent, but irreverent atmosphere. The Bearss Sandwich shop has been in my regular rotation since we moved to Carrollwood in 1997, and they consistently have excellent food. Be warned they will taunt everyone who walks in the door. The Brazil Cariocca is a very good sandwich that is not found anywhere else locally that I know of and is worth trying. I learned of co-owner Jerry's passing, and that is a great loss. He was a funny, spirited, and caring person. His wife and the rest of the staff are carrying on in running the shop without missing a step though.

I've been going here for years and they NEVER disappoint. Their sense of humor is just as great as their food. In most instances people make the establishment what it is, and in this place is a perfect example. Anyone who wants a great sandwich and a guaranteed laugh should go there.

What a great sandwich! The Special with pork and the macaroni salad was the order today and I wish I had 4 hands so I could give this joint 4 thumbs up. The hand-written, smart-A signs and the sarcastic banter were greatness. "Oh, you order only water, why you so cheap? I need the money." That made me laugh. I've had cuban sandwiches from two places, not too many spots on TX, but this one has moved into the top spot fo'sho. Crispy bread, tasty meat and cheese and someone else making it, all the things needed to make a great sandwich.

I had to check this place out because of all the great reviews. I felt like I was missing something and I was missing tons. This place is special as is the workers. It's not just a sandwich it's a whole experience. Fresh Fresh Fresh!!! I will be back once a month hope to see you there...

My home away from home. I have been going here since I was in elementary school. I am now 34. I am all grown up and live in a different part of town but still make it a point to bring my kids and come see Berta when I have the opportunity. If you like Cubans I don't think there is a better Cuban than there Cuban special. But I also love everything else they make. Their egg and chicken salad sandwhich are great and the bread is alway so soft. The meatball sub is amazing if your not watching your weight. The chicken cordon blue is also a must have. On top of all this it is cheap. Berta and Jerry have not raised the prices with inflation. Lol

My husband had been telling me about this place for months. He said that the sandwiches were great and he really wanted me to meet the owner. We finally went a few weeks ago and they had a small sign on the counter saying that Jerry has passed, so unfortunately no one else will get to meet him or experience the awesome sense of humor that I keep hearing about. My condolences to the family. The Cuban sandwich that we got was very good and the meatball sandwich was pretty good. We will definitely return.

Help support local small business & eat some Tasty Cuban food. Place has been around for as long as I can remember. The Owners are nice people. Funny too. The Cuban sandwiches with pork & devil crabs are excellent.

We were on our way back to a conference and were hungry and just looking for something fast. But there was nothing around. So I pulled up Yelp and right there, in a little hole in the wall, was Bearss Sandwiches! And man are we glad that we stopped! Great food! And the hospitality was over the top! Unbelievable customer service. I think Mrs Berta runs the place, and she'll give you just enough of a hard time to put a big ole smile on your face! We are just traveling through, but if I'm ever back, this will place will be on the list for lunch. If you are ever in Tampa, make the trip to see Mrs Berta at Bearss Sandwiches! You won't regret it!

Bearss sandwich shop has been one of my go to places for as long as I can remember. I have cravings for Their Cubans and even though I don't live two minutes away anymore I will still take the 15 minute drive to satisfy my stomach lol Also you can not beat the homey feel and great customer service they offer! They love my son and the ladies always go above and beyond to make our experience more than enjoyable!!

This mom and pop run place doesn't follow a corporate policy but that's what I enjoy about it. The service is fast (so long as you don't arrive for the lunch time rush at 12:15) and you get handmade delicious sandwiches. Still haven't tried the egg salad because it is always gone by the time I go for lunch. Bit more in price than Subway but way better quality.

These people are cute and hilarious. Reminds me of NYC or Boston, talking trash to customers but with love. Had chicken cordon bleu sandwich it was great at a great price. Support this mom and pop shop!

I've been going to this place since I was a small child. Used to walk over when they were on bears ave and buy sandwiches for my family. Berta still remembers me which is so cool. I've never had a bad sandwich here. The Cuban is the best. The Italian sausage, the egg salad are all excellent. The bread is always fresh and the service is always excellent. Was so sorry to here about Jerry, we flirted for years lol. This is my absolute favorite sandwich shop!!!

I know it's a town with lots of Cubans, but they make a great pressed Cuban. I also love their submarine sandwich, the shredded lettuce and fresh breads and meats make it a must go back kind of place.

What a hidden gem this place is. They could possibly have the best cuban sandwich in Tampa. Their delicious take on the cuban sandwich blends thinly sliced German ham with local cuban bread. The way this sandwich is prepared is a truly unique treat. The owners are always behind the counter and have been for as long as I have been going there, 18 years. The staff is friendly, the menu has many options and prices are extremely fair! Do not let the location fool you, there is delicious food inside!
