It is a chain, but living in NJ, I have NEVER seen a Cuban chain. We arrived around 12 am, 6 of us, HUNGRY. and they served us freshly grilled chicken, and rice with black beans. LOVED it!! The sauce bar was something unique also. If only they had one of these in Jersey!!

Got my very simple 'no beans' order wrong.I want to punch them in the throat because it was very bad. In hindsight, my order had to have been prepared before I ordered it and was not enough time to prepare. Sucky chain consistently mismanaged by sucky Floridians. from Miami shores to wherever crackofass FL. The end.

had very difficult time ordering as everyone there spoke a different language and the one guy who looked like he should know english appeared so stoned that he was unable to finish a sentence. I gave up and went to eat somewhere else.

This is right down the street from my Hotel this week, within walking distance and open late. I've been over to PT twice now, but have been underwhelmed each time. It's not that the food is not good, its just average to me. The Cuban wrap is just OK, and I should have known better than to get a sandwich at a chicken place, so that's my fault. The Yucca fries are good, with a nice starchy taste that holds up well to the sauces you can sample. I like the Curry Mustard and the Guava BBQ myself. Last night I got the Trio (Wings, Chicken & Steak) which was a better choice, but still not really satisfying. All was well prepared, but I feel that the quality of ingredients is a little lacking (i.e. fatty chicken and beef). The white rice is great (I found myself wanting soy sauce) and the black beans were tasty, very similar in preparation to Pinto beans. For a west coast guy like me, I'll much rather go to El Pollo Loco,

Pollo Tropical has really good Caribbean style food. It is fast, cheap, and actually pretty healthy! Grilled chicken, rice with black beans, and bread roll is my staple combination; always fresh and delicious. Their guava barbeque sauce is really flavorful, and the salsa is pretty good. Being a fast food joint, the service is nice enough when you are ordering, and the restaurant is kept pretty clean with a lot of seating. Pollo Tropical is great for take-out during lunch, and they are also open until midnight for those late night snacks. 4 stars because I am a fan of their chicken on the grill!

Food is always great, how ever the customer service was terrible. I was purchasing almost $30 worth of food and was trying to pay with a $100 and the cashier was trying to make an excuse of not having change even though it was noon time. Instead of her finding a manager to give her change, she wasted my time by stalling so I gave the $100 back to my companion and payed with my card reluctantly. Then afterwards the male that served me my food realized he forgot my extra chicken and called me over by saying "sir" even though a person could tell I was a female and he heard my voice. Later when my companion and I were finished consuming the food, I went up to ask for a bag and a cover after the male gave food to another customer and ignored me and only gave me attention after I became irrate and got loud, embarrassing him due to his rudeness. I will never come back to this pollo tropical even though it is the closest one to me, I would rather drive to the other 2 far away from me.

sooo YUMMY! ok so its cheap like fast food, fast like fast food... but REALLY DELICIOUS and sort of healthy UNlike fast food.... its wonderful, tons of sauces and options to choose from. the chicken is amazing , i love this place!!! ... 1 star off because my husband thinks they dont put enough meat, the portions are a little small.. you kind of need 1.5 meals to become completely satisfied... i got the chipotle grilled chicken sandwich with curly fries.. and their cilantro garlic sauce.. omg its to DIE for.. wow.. so i loved it so freaking much that i went again and got the same exact thing again... just after 2 days cuz it was so GOOD. mmmm!!! i mean its not the best thing you'll ever eat.. but cmon for 5 bucks... what else do you want?
