I guess the Yelp marketing worked! We must have had IKEA on our minds after the BPB Yelp games! Today we were deciding between our usual array of diners for brunch and my 10 year old junior Yelper exclaimed, "Why not go to IKEA?" Always up for a change of pace, we agreed. The only challenge about IKEA, especially on a weekend, can be parking, but luckily we we able to grab a spot close to the entrance. At just past noon, the cafeteria was busy, but not packed. My husband and I shared a smoked salmon plate for an appetizer. It had some shaved veggies and dressing on top which complemented the salmon really well. For less than $5.00, this's was a bargain. I guess everything at IKEA Restaurant is pretty cheap though! All four of us went for Swedish Meatballs. For $7.99 you can get them with a side, a drink, and a soup or salad. The meatballs are good. They do taste a little like the frozen meatballs I buy for my kids at Costco, but the sauce elevates them a bit. For my side I had veggies. Again, they tasted frozen. The rest of my family got either mashed potatoes or mac & cheese, which they liked. The soup of the day was Carrot Ginger. I did not like this soup at all. It tasted like hot puréed carrots without anything else added...not for me. I tasted the cornbread which was soft, sweet, moist, and delicious. There is not a huge variety but there are other cold items offered, as well as other hot meals such as ribs and chicken tenders. IKEA Restaurant is a great place to stop for sustenance if one is shopping at IKEA. I don't know if we will return on a regular basis when we are not shopping, but I can see coming back once in a blue moon when we tire of our regular diner routine and want a fast, reasonable meal.

Let me just say, the idea of having a full-scale restaurant in your department store is pure genius (take note Target). The fact that the food is actually good makes it even better. Doesn't shopping make you hungry? well fortunately IKEA hooks you up with some good food on the cheap. You need to eat because you know you'll be spending a good 4 hours walking around the maze that is IKEA anyway. This place has everything (and I'm talking about the cafeteria). The Swedish meatballs are a staple. For $6.99 you get them with a side of mashed potatoes, salad and a drink. Personally, my favorite is the chicken fingers, I know, I know. but they are delicious. The fries are pretty great too. Also, big shout out to whoever makes the garlic bread because it's always on point. For those lighter eaters (not me), they have various salads and wraps to choose from too. There is also a kids menu and breakfast menu when available. It's also pretty genius when you sit to eat that you're sitting on IKEA furniture. Clever guys, clever. The American in me wishes the drink glasses were larger. The American in me also loves that the ranch dressing is self pumping so I can load up as much as I want on America's favorite dressing. The prices are uber cheap, unless you are me and order one of everything. They even have ribs. RIBS. You can buy ribs you guys and they look amazing! You will never go home hungry at IKEA. If you do then there is seriously something wrong. And if you ever go there on a weekend look for me and Lena C gnawing on some meatballs and mac & cheese. We'll be there. Promise.

This is like a high end tech company's cafeteria would be if europe had those. You can get a totally reasonable tray of food covering all the food groups and having nutritional balance. Then, reward yourself for your maturity with one of the giant slabs of desserts arrayed out on saucers. After all, you can't shop on an empty stomach. Those european crackers in the food store... it was my turn to replace the office snack. It had been cracker and pretzel mix, then it was long pretzel sticks, and now it was my turn. I thought I could find something european at ikea that would be truly awesome and not easily replaceable. I went with the crackers in the circular white and black packages. Europeans are probably used to adding things to their crackers because these are awfully bland. Also, too crunchy. They are so crunchy its hard to eat them and not choke on a cloud of cracker dust each bite. That can't be good for your lungs! These things remain in the office snack spot on top of the fridge, long after I've paid off my furniture cc charges. Nobody likes them or feels like replacing them. Ikea ruined our communal office snack.

Disappointed that the BBQ ribs were all gone so early in the evening. We settled for meatballs sans ligonberry sauce. The meal includes 15 of those little guys and they really fill you up. Be sure to save room for the corn bread, which is delicious-tastes almost like cake with a perfect texture (not over mixed) and buttery flavor.

The food at Ikea isn't the best, but it's definitely not the worst either, given the price. The Swedish meatballs are good for the price and they do give a decent amount. The macaroni and cheese... Oh mah gah... is good. The salmon lasagna is very...earthy tasting. If your taste buds are green, you'll love that dish. The restaurant doesn't have any straws... Which I thought was bizarre. I have sensitive teeth so I was in pain every time I took a sip of my drink!

There's just something special about starting off, splitting up or winding up a four hour shopping venture, with yummy cafeteria style grub for the low low. What that something is for me, is Swedish Meetballs, Mashed potatoes and gravy and (of course) extra Lingon Berry Jam! There's lots of other yummy treats, from salads, fish garlic bread & soups. The Butternut Squash soup is pretty great. Definitely make sure to get a tray holder to push your tray around so you don't have to do the high-school-lunch-walk. The seating area is decorated in, you guessed it, Ikea decor! I am never shocked to see just how many people pack this little resto daily. It's quite brilliant, to create a giant, amazing store that everyone spends hours in, then serve up your own tasty treats in a restaurant built-in to said giant store. The Swiss are great and so is this little restaurant.

Pretty decent food considering this is located inside a furniture store. Sure it's a glorified cafeteria, but man, this place gets packed. Just order the sweedish meatballs and all will be fine. Then try the incredible cinnamon bun on the first floor as they are awesome and only $1.

I honestly think having a restaurant in IKEA is genius on their end. While it may feel like a high school cafeteria, it's actually a decent option to grab a bite while spending the entire day getting inspired, choosing furniture and walking from room to room jealous you don't have the design vision to make your living room so nice. I've had the meatballs (good, although I've read the stories of what was once in them) which come with mashed potatoes and a sweet berry sauce. While it isn't the most amazing thing I have ever tasted, it's decent. and CHEAP! Yea, super cheap! In true IKEA fashion they have saved on as many things as they could and pass the savings along to their customers. Wouldn't go out of my way for it, but while there, grab a bite.

I love IKEA Restaurant. I can't help it. It's the only restaurant around in which I can connect with my Swedish roots, hence I admit my bias. I grew up on the types of food they served here so every time I eat here, it's a culinary connection with my heritage and my past. But even if I weren't biased toward Swedish rather than Italian, Dutch or any other meatball and even if I didn't prefer ligonberry or proclaim it superior to the native of America cranberry, I can objectively assert that there isn't another place anywhere around where you can get as good a deal on meal than here. Like where else could you get a full good quality meal the equal of meatballs with crème sauce, potatoes and ligonberry along with a soda for $7.00? Face it, no way, you can't

We passed by before beginning our trek through that which is Ikea. I'm a big fan of salmon as well as lasagna so I obviously went with the salmon lasagna. I added on a side of macaroni. After I sat down I dug in. I have to say I was not impressed with the lasagna. Too little salmon, too much green stuff. To me it tasted almost like a vegetarian dish, not to knock those who get down like that but green veggie overload is just not my style!! I did enjoy the macaroni but I am a sucker for that style of mac n' cheese. Definitely a step above Publix and KFC mac but certainly made in the same vein. I was able to snag some meatballs from my girlfriends plate and those were enjoyable. If there's a next time I'm going with those and some macaroni.

What's not to like about Ikea restuarant? It's cheap, good, and Swedish. This ikea caters to the local tastes by including sweet plantains as a side option. I had the meatball special with lingonberry jam and was treated to a free coffee (which I gave to Marie P.) since I'm an Ikea Family member. They were (sadly) out of tomato soup but I had a salad for the same price as the add on to my main meal.

Diverse and clean flavours at a very reasonable price.Love their salmon wraps, mac&cheese, and numerous desserts. However, a poor beverage selection and unavoidably high noise level diminish an otherwise lovely lunch

Great way to split your visit at IKEA. Loud, average+ food, but a little bit of comfort.

Every time I shop at IKEA, I always come for their food. Chicken Tenders are best around, Seasoned Fries are crispy and tasty, Ribs are tender but not that juicy, Smoked Salmon is nothing special, and Meatballs are the BEST and not greasy. I buy a bag a month and it's great in everything, even in Chinese cooking!

Had a quick on the go breakfast here. The eggs were in a word, gross. Looked and tasted like rubber and were overcooked. The only item that was good was the bacon, that was cooked just right and was crispy and tasty. I enjoy eating lunch and dinner at IKEA, in the future I will get breakfast elsewhere and leave IKEA for meatballs.

Usually I love the Ikea experience, but as of late in the Sunrise, Florida location I have been disappointed. We ordered their fabulous Swedish meatballs with the lingumberry sauce, however, to my dismay after traveling almost an hour from Miami, they didn't have the mashed potatoes! What are Swedish meatballs without the mash potatoes? It is like a vegetarian burger - no offense vegans. Furthermore, the Restaurant also looked unsanitary, food (to be specific french fries) on the floor and a very dull looking ambiance. What happen to Ikea? I think they need to retrain their employees Walmart style. Lastly, we went to the Ikea cafe toward the exit and ordered a coffee and a Cinnamon-bun. The Cinnamon-bun was hard probably left out for hours not fresh and the employees once again acting without care. We are very disappointed. We will be back only for the Swedish meatballs and the lingumberry juice as this is the only place to get them. Ikea please up your standards in service and in customer care. Note: Also you should stop checking customers receipts at the exits. They checked mine for a cinnamon bun and coffee. A word of business advise stop paying that employee wasted time checking for thievery as if you don't trust your customers and just take 15% off your accounting for common theft. Treating your customers like thieves is not a good practice.

It is average for an IKEA, but the place was really crowded, messed up, and just dirty... we did not enjoy whatever we were eating. The tuna salad is fresh and not as greasy as the rest of the food.

Ikea is in my blood. Perhaps it is because that my mom is Finnish (born and raised) and my father, though born and bred in Utah, came from Swedish parentage. So I sort of have a lock on the whole Scandinavian thing. I also subsisted on Ikea furniture and knicknacks throughout my 20's, and I will admit, still have a bookshelf or cutting board or three from the same origins. Having a Scandinavian mother, I grew up with weird fish paste, herring, interesting cheeses, näkkileipä (that hard crisp rye bread sort of like a large cracker), smoked salmon, fish eggs, shellfish and lots of root vegetables. Oh and lots of black licorice (love the stuff). I spent summers in Finland and Sweden where we were treated to grilled summer sausage served with this mild but spicy mustard I haven't been able to find outside of Europe, Lingonberry and Elderflower punch (sort of like an European version of koolaid), and these delicious cinnamon rolls with the most awesome sugar on top (exactly like the big granules of salt you find on those soft pretzels but they are pearl sugar). Of course during my childhood all I wanted was to have "normal" pb&j in my lunchbox like every other kid, and now all I want to eat is the "weird" stuff my mom raised us on. Thank God for Ikea. While the store itself is useful for a lot of other things I plan my life around food, so I go to this Ikea. Not all Ikeas have a cafe. They actually have a small food shop on the first floor that sells some of their food items (fish paste, frozen meatballs, coffee, crispbread, cookies, smoked salmon, candies) and the also have a cafe on the second floor. The first floor area sells hot dogs, cinnamon rolls and coffee to go. The cafe is literally a cafeteria where you wait in line with a tray to order from a handful of menu items. While they serve ribs and chicken nuggets (?) they also serve a meatball plate with mashed potatoes and a simple side salad. A bonus, their soda machine dishes out lingonberry punch alongside the sprite and coke. I settle in, take in the modern and stark design (the children's section is adjacent to the cafeteria so you see a lot of interesting little things), take a bite of that delicious first meatball with gravy, top it off with a bit of lingonberry jam and I'm 10 years old again. You clear your own tray (simply move it to the dirty tray area) and are on your way. Easy and simple, much like Ikea itself. After waking up from my reverie, I go downstairs and am grateful that I am no longer 10 but I am a 30-something adult with a credit card, stock up on my coffee, fish paste, black licorice, salmon, the aforementioned "Swedish Mustard" and am on my way. They also sell frozen crayfish which I've been tempted to buy but haven't yet... One sad note, they do not sell the "Kalles Kaviar" any longer. This was the fish paste that was really trout roe, great on crackers with cucumber. I guess maybe the palate of South Florida didn't quite like it, but they do sell crab paste in the same sort of tubes, and smoked salmon paste as well.

I went to Ikea for their 4th of July sale. When we arrived one of the employes by the door hand me a coupon and said that if we spend more than 100 dollars today everybody who was with me would eat for free so it was on! I knew I was gonna spend more than 100 buck regardless lol. The deal was this you go and eat and the cashier will give your a recipe and a coupon with the total amount of your meal and it would deducted from your shopping bill at check out done. I have been here before, and I really like their ribs they are very well cooked and little bit heavy on the bbq sauce, but nothing that could really bother me. I ordered mac n cheese and corn bread, my mom got the same but with fries on the side. My wife and sister got the Swedish meatballs, I guess they are famous for them not a bad deal they come with a dressing on top that takes away that meaty flavor one of the order mash potatoes and the other one mac and cheese with corn bread. I got the overload chocolate cake for dessert and let me tell you something I will go back just for the cake it was pretty good. We also ordered the Tres Leches but it wasn't good at all very dry and tasteless. Basically the way this place operates is kinda like high school cafeteria you make a line pic your good and then walk to the cashier and pay. There are no waitress or waiters, is all serve yourself which allows them to be more economic (at least thats what they claim). For four of us I spend $40.06 which is not so bad specially when they took that out of my regular bill. The place is very clean and organized. Definitely if I'm there I would eat again, maybe next time I'll try their wraps or something like that.

The food is very consistent and not too bad. The value is very good, because everything is fairly inexpensive. According to some friends from Sweden, the Swedish meatballs here are pretty legit. After walking through the maze here, it is a good place to stop to eat if you aren't looking for something fancy and just need quick.

  • Denver E.

The food here is surprisingly decent. For those of you that haven't been, it is set up cafeteria style where you graba tray and walk down the line adding items to your tray from the refrigerated cases or having them serve it to you from the hot bar. The most popular dish here would be the Swedish Meatball Combo. There are plenty of other items to try, most of them being Scandinavian or at least Scandinavianish (a word created solely for this post). Desserts are tasty here and it's the only place I know of where you can get Lingdonberry flavored soda. There are several different food deals they have going on each day here, and all of the food here is very affordable.

The meat balls had a really Good flavor, and the mash potatoes was really good with the graving. For the price was a good choice. The chocolate cake was amazing what a flavor and fresh the mix of chocolate cake and chocolate mouse was the Bom :) if you are in ikea stop by the restaurant and try in the cake totally recommended.

This is a totally biased review because I freaking love IKEA, but this cafe is awesome. Good, cheap food served by friendly people in the middle of my favorite furniture store. It does not get much better than that! The meatballs and cinnamon rolls are must-haves and their breakfasts are pretty good, too. If you sign up for the IKEA family card you get free coffee and the IKEA mailing list will let you know when they have special events like their crawfish boil or all you can eat rib night.

Clean, fast and friendly. Meatballs and salmon were fresh and tasty. Keep it up! We were about to purchase coffee when an employee told us about the Family cards for free coffee. We also got a free frozen yogurt for signing up.

you simply cannot beat the deals here! my favorite is def the meatballs platter... the only thing missing here is some green tea and some sriracha sauce but that would be asking too much! =) if you don't make it to the restaurant, make sure you stop by their marketplace right across from the check-out registers... they have the meatballs there to buy and anything from fruit spreads to cookies, etc. Need a quick bite, there is a little food stand right next to the marketplace where they serve hot dogs, frozen yogurt, chips, soda their famous cinnamon buns... great deals abound!
