Food was not good at all. Pad Thai Special: noodles way over cooked very mushy. Also had a strange taste. Not the traditional Thai taste like peanut. More like ketchupy? Sweet and Sour Shrimp: I find it annoying when they don't put the sauce separate. Come on it's delivery so it was mushy. Seafood Hot N Sour Soup was OK. We ordered from Groupon and the order was paid prior to delivery. However the delivery driver argued with me for 10mins!!! Never again.

Prior to my visit I had not eaten at Dragon Pearl in quite some time. I decided to visit with my son and found the food to be very poor as compared to prior visits. I ordered the orange chicken and it did not even have an orange flavor. When I told the male oriental manager/owner, he told me "that is the way we always make it" and did not offer to add flavor. Not only was the food poor, but I attempted to use an Entertainment Publications coupon and even though the coupon was and is still valid, he told me I can't use it as they no longer accept Entertainment coupons. I called Entertainment and they told me Dragon Pearl is contractually obligated to accept the coupon. I didn't bother going back for a refund of one meal. Instead, I will never go back to Dragon Pearl and will advise my friends and neighbors to never eat at this restaurant. Because the manager/owner did not honor a $10 coupon, Dragon Pearl will now lose thousands of $ in business. A very, very poor business decision in my estimation.

This is my first Yelp review. My experience at this restaurant was so appalling that it motivated me to create a Yelp account just to write this review. Some friends had recommended Dragon Pearl as good "gringo" Chinese, and I enjoy a good gringo Chinese restaurant every now and then. (Panda Express is a guilty pleasure of mine.) My friends who recommended it had only been there once. I arrived at 8pm on a Sunday evening, dining solo. I was the only person in the restaurant the entire time I was there--which should have been my first clue. The waiter took my drink order right away. I ordered a non-sweetened iced tea. He said they do not have iced tea, but said they do have hot tea--so I got the hot tea. For food, I ordered the sweet and sour chicken combination dinner. It came with wonton or egg drop soup, an egg roll, and pork fried rice or plain fried rice. (I picked egg drop soup and plain fried rice.) The egg drop soup came out first and it was actually delicious and a generous portion. The only decent part of the meal. The egg roll came out second and it was very hard and very greasy. I think it may have been in the freezer too long. I ate it anyway. After I finished the soup and egg roll, they brought out the entree and "fried rice". I put it in quotes because the fried rice was just rice cooked with lots of soy sauce. I've never been served anything close to that at any chinese restaurant. The entree was extremely disappointing. They brought out a bowl with the fried chicken pieces, and then a ramekin of "sweet and sour sauce". The sauce was so thick, it was like a paste or a jelly. If it had been white, I would have thought it was that plaster stuff you use to plug up the holes in the wall when you move out of an apartment. It was so nasty, I can't believe the waiter served it to me with a straight face. The actual chicken was about what I would expect from a gringo Chinese joint. I ate a couple of pieces, and then asked for the bill. It was only ten dollars, thank God. Next time I get a craving, I will just find a Panda Express!

This place smells like fish shit. They have terrible food, the owner is polite but its a shame cus its just awful. Not only is the food bad but it was shut down for like a week (not that long ago) for deplorable conditions. Ive walked in before and waited for 45 minutes. I left without service. Save your time money and the possibility of getting sick.

Great food (and I'm freakin picky) excellent service and a nice, quaint dinning experience. Always hot and fresh. I normally order when I get there but you call in and tell them when you're getting there, they make sure it's just coming out so its not cold or waiting. Go for it.

I was very disappointed with this place. I have been here a couple of times previously, and it was not bad. But this time, I waited 10 minutes for the waiter to come out of the back, (after another Customer got him). The food was just OK, nothing to write home about. Service was the biggest down fall. I will not be returning. There are too many other palces that are much much better.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
