Quality coffee shop with quality products? Check. On the beach? Check. Has almond milk [makes masala chai even better]? Check.

This is the coffee shop on the central "square" in Seaside. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but it was chilly and threatening rain, so when a friend wanted herbal tea, I agreed to join her. They've got a pretty long list of teas. I chose the tumeric ginger herbal tea thinking it would be zesty and full of anti-inflammatories needed post race. Sure, it's hard to mess up stocking tea and heating water, but I was impressed with the double cups and how they put the edge of the tea bag in between them to hold it in place for the steeping. That and when I researched the Rishi tea that they were selling on the shelves, I came to find out that it's an iced tea and one bag is designed to make 1 quart. So I was getting super concentrated tea, and I loved it. The coffee smelled good, too.

These guys really know how to throw down some Espresso! I opted for a Triple Breve, with only a small amount of Cream, and they nailed it. If I am ever back in the area, I'll be stopping in!

Loved their coffee and enjoyed the atmosphere. Highly recommended for coffee lovers. Their lattes taste as good as they look. Very nice staff also. I'll be returning soon.

Stopped in for some coffee and breakfast before a fitness class. The line was fairly long in the morning but moved quickly. I had a tasty bacon, egg and cheese on a biscuit. The iced coffee was strong but not bitter. Seems like a great option for coffee and a light breakfast if you're in Seaside.

For being the only coffee shop in Seaside, it's actually really good. I'm kind of a coffee snob so I have to check all of the cool places out wherever I go! I approve of what the sell. It's all fair-trade so you feel even better drinking it. I obviously bought a pound before I headed out and loved it just as much at home! I'll be back tomorrow :)

Wow, I'm not sure why this place is only 3.5 stars on Yelp. Either people in Seaside just aren't Yelpers or they just don't really know what's in front of them. I gave this beachside coffee shop 5-stars for the following reasons: a) TASTE. The white chocolate mocha was just like Seaside--a little slice of heaven. Soooo good! b) QUALITY. The coffee is 100% organic and fair trade. Why do I care if it's organic or not? Well, coffee is one of the most chemically induced products in the world. Would I want to be drinking chemicals dressed as a latte? No, and I'm sure you wouldn't like that either. So, a "high five" to Amavida for setting themselves apart from the average coffee shops. c) SERVICE. Excellent customer service by the staff/barista. I bought a medium iced latte and went on my way to cruise around the block but immediately dropped the drink by accident. I went back right away to buy another serving (since the latte was THAT good). I was getting ready to pay, however, the barista offered it as complimentary after hearing that I dropped it accidentally. I wasn't looking for a freebie but what a great move that was because now they have found a loyal customer in me and although I will not be able to go there everyday (I'm from San Diego after all), I will definitely be buying my coffee from them online. Besides coffee and teas, they also serve food with a Latin flair. Love this place!

There's this lady in the back that makes the most amazing chicken avocado arepas (chicken and avocado between two corn pancake tortilla bun things) which makes for a really good lunch. Amavida roasts their own fair trade coffee and the baristas know their stuff. If you like the burnt bean taste of Starbucks coffee espresso, you won't get that flavor profile here. It's a small space and so indoor seating is limited but there is enough room to plop down with your laptop and check some emails.

Great customer service... Perfect coffee and correct temp.. Nice selection of Latin food...

First, the people that work here are coffee evangelists. They not only know their wears and offerings intimately but know how to perfectly describe and advice you as to what you are getting. They also have a Steampunk siphon which is amazing. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend them.

I'm a sucker for the white mochas and I'd have to say this spot has the best white mochas. I tried the iced and the frozen white mocha and enjoyed both. I would have to say with out a doubt beats Starbucks on the tastes test and right around the same price which is unfortunate but coffee is a MUST!

I'm not much for drinking coffee, but I have to say that I'm impressed with this shop. They seem to carry an impressive selection of coffee, teas and chocolate from Latin America, South America and Africa. They also have a nice bakery selection, as well as some good Latin grub! Mmm, empanadas.

While on vacation in Seaside, we made a morning habit of getting our bikes, riding to the downtown area and stopping at Amavida for a beverage and breakfast. Featuring organic-earth friendly- chakra calming - oneness inducing coffee (at least that is what I gathered from reading various literature) and teas for your breakfast. Ok, for me, I like a good smooth cup of joe, the regular stuff that they serve as part of the daily morning service. While their special blends looked great, I was very happy with my standard fare. For me the highlight was the breakfast options. Scones (wife loved the savory ones), sandwiches and pastries. All very tasty and well made. The shop is small, so be prepared for a line. Still, get your stuff, then grab a table and sit out front and watch the world go by. Also, don't forget to breathe - it is, after all, Seaside. Enjoy.

The place is a great spot to kick back for a few minutes, however the first morning we got coffee it was too strong and bitter for my liking (even with cream). The bacon egg muffin breakfast sandwich was ok, the muffin part was very good, tasted homemade, it just lacked something... could use more meat. The next morning we got french press coffee and true french press should not need cream or sugar, but again it missed the mark for me. It was just too bitter, I only drank half and threw rest out.

Friendly staff and a good cup of coffee. Ended up at this location while staying in nearby Grayton beach as mysteriously the Starbucks had crime scene tape around it... Weird. Nothing beats San Fran coffee back home in my book but this was a solid coffee shop. Also had a good espresso here.

I worked in Seaside last summer, and Amavida quickly became a go-to place when I was looking for a caffeine fix or a light lunch. The coffee is great, and the chai tea became a part of my daily routine. Most of the food is decent, but the chicken salad sandwich is amazing; I could probably live off those (and I think there was a week where I did.) The people who work there are great, and they often have live music performing outside. It's the best place in Seaside to go to for a pick-me-up.

We never go in coffee shops but if we did we would go here, anywhere where I can get a glass of vino and an empanada and Pablo can get a coffee and an oat bar is OK by me. Tables and chairs outside to watch the well dressed seaside tourists saunter by. A nice little stop with a 1 minute walk to the beach.

Two stars based on the seats. If it's raining outside and you need a hang out. I don't recommend Amavida. No public wifi and the seating... Well let's just say I'd be more comfortable on the hard floor. The (albeit awesome looking) stools were like sitting on half of a stainless steel doctors table with the edges cutting into your thighs. I'm sure it's not so much of a prob most days a year but as I said when you want a hot chocolate, wifi and a comfy place to hang on a rainy day - look elsewhere.

Amavida, a local coffee shop, also sells Latin American food at its Seaside location- go figure, right? Prices are more affordable than many restaurants in the area and the food here is simple, straightforward and good. You know what you're getting, and it's not an overpriced Niçoise salad that's more of an appetizer than an entrée. Good Mexican food is hard to find on 30a, especially if you don't want to, or can't, venture out to highway 98 to the Mexican mercaditos and restaurants. The Amavida in Seaside hired a Hispanic woman to cook some authentic dishes to go along with their coffee and pastry options. Watch out, she makes a mean red sauce that will leave you in tears if you eat too much of it! You can sit inside at the air-conditioned bar or brave the sweltering heat and sit at one of the outdoor tables. From left to right, we ordered the P1 El Gallo Mexican Chicken Burrito $8.95, A1 La Reina Chunky Chicken with Avocado Salad Arepa $7.95, and the E1 El Boriqua Picadillo Beef (Spiced Beef), Carrots, and Potatoes Empanada $6.95. All portions were hefty enough for lunch and tasty enough to return. The burrito and arepa were simple but good. I would have liked the arepa to be seasoned more, but that's typically the nature of arepas. The empanada was a stand out- a thin, fried outer shell generously filled with seasoned beef and vegetables served with a tangy green salsa. If you love empanadas as much as I do, I would absolutely return to the Seaside location to grab a simple lunch or hot snack. Oh right, and the coffee... I can't really comment on their coffee drinks and pastries since our sole reason for going into Amavida was their Mexican food but maybe next time I'll actually order a beverage!

My wife and I rode our bikes here from watercolor - about a 1.5 mile scenic ride. Very cute 'town center' of Seaside with Airstream food trucks. The coffee is great and the tea very good. The staff of our morning visit was super friendly and not even close to your 'standard coffee barista'. We passed about 4 people on our way back all looking for the same place. A great cup of coffee is one of life's simple pleasures and Amavida fits the bill perfectly.

A couple years ago we went here and had terrible espresso. .. . .tasted fermented, of all things. BUT today we went back and had a totally different experience. My wife got the small sized latte with an extra shot, but little did we know that it normally comes with 2 shots, so hers was a triple. It was excellent, excellent. I got just an espresso with a dab of soy. It too was fabulous. I'd say the best or second-best espresso I've ever had. They do make their espresso by hand - not in a super-automatic like at Starbucks - so I suppose the quality can vary from visit to visit, but ours was top-notch today. Would definitely go back, and would recommend to anyone.

After 2 visits nothing has changed. A free bad or negative attitude is included with purchase. No matter how organic, small farm, or helping the world this place can serve, skip it!

Not amazing. To be fair, there used to be a little Italian coffee shop in the back of seaside that was excellent. It's where I fell in love with iced coffee toddy. It was strong and flavorful. Smoothe, not bitter. Once it disappeared a few years back I went on a hunt for great coffee at the beach. Sadly most of it sucks. I found Amavida two summers ago. Initially it was the best I had found in the area. The barista training just keeps getting weaker and weaker, much like the taste of their coffee. Shop has a nice vibe and look, but the quality of their drinks continues to decline. Not sure why the beach is such a hard place to find quality coffee.

Very nice little coffee shop in Seaside serving coffee and espresso drinks from beans they have roasted. They also sell a variety of different whole coffee beans from their roaster. They sell beans from many different countries, although I noticed the labels only identify the country of origin, nothing else. That might make one think that they are not estate coffee beans, and thus cheaper and perhaps in some cases lower quality than labeled estate coffee beans would be, however I noticed on the Amavida website there is a more detailed description of the coffees including identification of their plantation or region of origin within the source nation. ( For a huge selection of very high quality locally roasted estate coffee, check out MAAS COFFEE ROASTERS, which is also a coffee shop, in downtown Fort Walton Beach.) The menu said they sell crepes, but when I asked for that I was told they have discontinued that item, and that they had been using prepared crepes (like you can buy at the grocery, I am very glad they discontinued that , actually; as it is an insult to France to serve such a thing) They have a few pastries to choose from. The location of this coffee shop, right in front of the town square of the fascinating little planned community of Seaside and nestled against the beach, is fantastic, and is probably the main reason to come here. The staff members I have dealt with here seemed very efficient, professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Try the "poco dolce" chocolate with sea salt, it is fantastic!!! I also recommend the "Ethiopian machiatto" ( an interesting twist on a conventional machiatto, ask for an explanation...) They have wine and beer, I was very excited to find that they have Nicaraguan beer, Toña, which I had tried in Nicaragua, but never seen before in the US, although I am sure it is available various places in Miami, it was surprising to find it in this little place on the Florida Panhandle..

I always like coming here even when they're busy. Great coffee and pastries, and the people watching is pretty good too. I always get a bag of fresh ground coffee to take home with me so vacation memories keep coming back with each sip of delicious coffee.

From the outside, Ama Vida seems like a family friendly neighborhood coffee shop, but the employees that run it made it the last place we'd ever want to come back to. A simple mistake was escalated to an extremely rude encounter with no recourse. We'll take our family and business else where.

Overall extremely disappointed. I don't know how the coffee tasted because the only taste resonating in my mouth is the poor service. When the barista got our drink wrong, they scoffed and refused to make it right. Could have been a very simple fix, but the overall vibe and employee attitude will make me not come back again.

This is really the only coffee shop in seaside. Fortunately, it's dang good. It's not overpriced like most everything around here, and they make good coffee hot and iced. I've come here every morning for our week long trip, and have been pleased every time.

My decaf Americano was excellent with the delicious crema, in a cappuccino cup and served with a real spoon. I asked for the 8oz with two shots. It was so nice to see a place offer 8 oz servings. The staff made up the order correctly but they were more involved with their own conversations than with the customers. This particular shop has only bar-type of seating along with outside table and chairs. Not a comfortable chatting atmosphere but certainly a handy place to get a drink to take to the shopping area or the beach. I considered getting some beans but their selection was limited. Appreciate that it is fair trade, organic and locally roasted.

It's the best coffee on 30a. So good that I always buy some beans to take home and have even ordered it on line once I ran out back in St.Louis! Good breakfast treats as well.
