This place is a great southern styled continental breakfast place, the restaurant makes a wide variety of its own muffins ( my favorite is the chocolate chip) they'll also cut them up and grill them for you which is awesome. The customer service is great here, if your in the neighborhood and in the mood for breakfast id definitely recommend this place. My only complaint is that i wish they served cuban coffee lol

Let's just say poor service. Poor food quality and preparation. Worst than poor service and communication. And, most important lack of concern about any of the above! Location is all that brings back customers.

Great service and amazing food! Never had a grilled muffin before and it was delicious! We had the banana nut muffin and orange cranberry... So good!

Love the Waffles best in Miami and Bacon Yummm!!! Get a grilled chocolate muffin with Ice cream :) The manager/owner is really nice and attentive. Also the sausage gravy biscuit wow!

What to say other than awesome?? Whenever I'm looking to eat something, have a snack or breakfast they are here! I love the muffins and all the specialties they have every day! Fresh fruit and just made cakes. Portions are huge and prices are regular! Get a chocolate chip muffin!

If you want COLD FOOD _ BAD SERVICE and CONFRONTATIONAL MANAGEMENT - then THIS IS YOUR PLACE. Took my boys for breakfast. Ordered grilled muffins - Took 20 minutes to get them. Barely grilled. Boys ordered two pancakes each - Took 30 minutes to get cold pancakes. Terrible service on a Saturday morning. Not many people there either! I had Eggs Benedict - were hard boiled eggs. When I told the manager he asked why I had an attitude? I told him I didn't have an attitude I just had bad food and bad service. I was simply telling him about the experience. Then he handed me a $40 tab! NEVER going back! I will make sure to spread the word around to everyone I know - especially after the manager told me I had attitude.

I will drive out of my way for their hash browns! So good! So many places have replaced hash browns for potatoes but Muffin Tin is holding out and I love it! The pancakes are fluffy and perfectly sized. The service is spot on and I love how this place has soo many things to choose from. The prices are fair and has a great diner feel.

Great breakfast place... never really been there for anything but. Very reasonable prices, and the service has never disappointed me. I live within walking distance from this place and didn't find it until my sister and her boyfriend had me join them one morning. The place is usually busy, but I've never had to wait more than a few minutes. Don't understand why most of the better breakfast places tend to be lacking on cleanliness though. Would be five stars if that wasn't true here.

The Muffin Tin is a solid place for a good traditional American breakfast in a traditional American diner setting. It won't blow your mind away but it will satisfy your appetite. Their hash browns definitely stand out, their coffee is solid, and their service has always been on point, although mind you, things can get fairly hectic over weekends and during holidays. Surprisingly, I've not had one of their muffins yet, so maybe I'll swing by tomorrow and pick one up.

Where do I begin? The Muffin Tin is a cute mom&pop breakfast themed restaurant offering, of course, delicious muffins! They are thick, fluffy-- beyond words. I am a huge fan of muffin tops and bagel bottoms, but I can't help but eat the entire muffin when I pass by here. They also have an entire breakfast menu. The French toast and Belgian waffles are tasty, as are their home fries. If you are looking for a morning bite, or woke up too late to catch a breakfast menu elsewhere, pick up a muffin or two from here! Who doesn't love breakfast all day? :) Oh, and Sundays get a little busy.

This place is over priced and mediocre bordering on bad. Small, bad quality portions overly priced.

    (1)
  • David P.

Not worth the price. Average food. Asked for cheese on our eggs and it came out with a slice of partially melted kraft single thrown on top of the eggs. Same with the grits. And then they charge extra for that.

If your not a regular, then don't come here. 15 minutes after we sat down, and only got menus. The wait staff ignored our requests for service when they walked by us. 3 other sets of customers came in after us, and all got menus, drinks, and orders were taken. Check your silverware too; both sets were encrusted with dried food. (Btw, 2 sets of silverware for 4 people?)

Walked right in on Sunday at 11:00. No wait so that was a plus. Server came promptly to our table and took our order. We did not have to wait not even a minute. There is a huge board on the wall with the daily specials which I tried very hard to read because I didn't have my glasses but the few items that I was able to read seemed delicious and sooo many that I was about to change my mind on my order a few times since every other menu item seemed better than what I had ordered. The food was great, from flavor to portions, we were not disappointed. The grilled muffins are definitely an interesting twist and we enjoyed it. Please try them. My fiancé ordered the Santa Fe Benny which is a version of the famous Egg Benedict that includes pulled pork and it was really delicious. I'm not fond of pulled pork but this one was very well made and I actually liked it. My breakfast consisted of 2 Eggs with a hamburger patty. Caution: Make sure you order the desire level of doneness that you really want because they do give you what you want unlike other places that you order well done and it comes back still red, not the case here. Contrary to what I had read from other reviewers service was very quick and handled very efficiently by Desiree, our server. They may have read the reviews and improved service or it may be that other reviewers were not lucky and we were, I don't know, but since this was our first time and everything was great we will give it another try and see if service shows a consistent improvement. I will review again base on future visits. In the mean time I must give the place a 5 based on my experience.

Great place for breakfast. Staff is very friendly and you get a very cozy/home-y feeling. The home fries are amazing. Definitely the place to come to for breakfast. If I could come here everyday I would!

I love my hometown, home cooking diner in Pinecrest!! We have been coming here for years and the service is always amazing and the food always delicious. This family run small business is a gem in our community.

The people are very nice... Very unpretentious atmosphere... They serve breakfast all day. Noticed some omelettes run $13 to $15 - I don't eat breakfast food, but that seems kinda high to me. The melts and hot sandwiches run $10 and some change... Cold sandwiches run about $8 and some change. I got the hot turkey, open face sandwhich platter... The presentation was aligned with the basic, simple atmosphere. The food was okay, but the quality was not better than that of a cafeteria ... The mashed potatoes serving was small. The green beans came from a can - no hiding it. The turkey was good, but the white, store bought bread was a little dry.... I won't be returning for lunch... I may come back to check out the bakery items....

  • Eloy V.

HORRIBLE! Service , seating, FOOD OJ from a bottle!! Biscuit from a box! I could have made better hashbrown blindfolded. Who eats here has no clue. Then they charge $4 for the hash brown and $4 for a side of 3 slices of bacon. Then to top it all off the waitress drops my ketchup filled knife on my lap.

    (1)
  • Kimberly A.

Not impressed. I tried their fried banana nut muffin...it was ok. I had the Cinnamon Nut French Toast...not good. It's just regular white bread with way too much cinnamon and sugar, the grits were flavorless. I won't come back.

Run as fast as you can! This is a dirty run down disgusting!! I never in my life sent food back! I order steak and eggs. When my plate arrived I got a wiff of sewage, not thinking anything I took a bite of the steak and it was what smelled! I just bit into sewage!!! Disgusting nasty gross! Waitress took steak off my plate. Why on earth would I eat anything that was near that rotten piece of cow!!! I am traumatized, scarred for life!

I just tried a GRILLED MUFFIN here and I'm about to die of happiness. I could have a second grilled muffin and a coffee and need nothing else in life. They cut the muffin into 3 slices, like you would cut a loaf of bread, and throw it on the grill just like that. It comes out warm, with toasty edges and glistening with amazing-ness. They're SOOOO GOOD!!

    (5)
  • Ian G.

Wow.... It took at least an hour before we had our food. Granted it was the 1st, but still... we did not order any baked turkeys or specialty pot roasts or anything - we just had eggs and bacon (maybe they had to bake some bread for our toast?). One of my friends got a muffin and they said it was delicious and distinctive. I got full from my food but it was a little bit pricey for eggs & potatoes.

  • Mark M.

Hooray. Another spot you can get a chili cheese omelet. Not only is it delicious, the rest of the table usually crinkles their noses when I offer up a taste. Therefore, I don't have to share.

I was looking for a good breakfast place, but this is not it. Quality is not that good. Similar to a run down waffle house. Food is not fresh. It's very greasy. Biscuits are hard and microwaved. Egg whites are covered in oil. The home fries were decent. I would not return.

howdy folks! this is our new go-to bfast joint! before you order from the reg menu, check out the daily specials! ...and for the late risers, bfast is served all day long! the place is old fashioned w southern style decor and although there's not much to say about the dining area, the excitement can definitely be found in the food... i ordered a santa fe benny (eggs benedict modified w grilled sourdough toast, topped w pulled pork and drizzled w spicy hollandaise sauce) and it sinfully delish! my better half had 2 eggs over hard w burger patty and home fries... fyi. if you req for well done patties, it will be well done so make sure you req for how you like yours precisely! ok, on to dessert or sweets... of course we had to try the muffins here but not just plain ol' muffins but the grilled ones and it was quite a nice surprise... freshly made muffins sectioned into thirds and lightly grilled making them nice and crunchy on the bottom and soft and moist on the inside! this is a must try/have! this place is located inside a large u-shaped strip plaza just north of 128st on US1 and there's plenty of free parking here. it's kid-friendly - high-chairs available and they have the "kid box" which consist of silver dollar pancakes and scrambled eggs... it's got a casual and laid back atmosphere... the bathrooms like the rest of the place is old fashioned but clean and doesn't smell rank which means they actually tidy it up regularly. our server, desiree, was on top of things at all times... coffee and hot water for my tea kept flowing... they have three types of hot sauce: cholula, tabasco and tapanero but sadly, they do NOT carry sriracha sauce... that is about to change though... next time, i will be bringing in one and for here to stay! we read that ppl had a negative experience bec it was packed and food took too long but like everywhere else, any time a place is packed, service usually gets affected so it's all relative... fortunately for us, we came on a sunday at 11a and it was not packed and it turned out to be great experience!

Walked in and sat with my family. Was ignored. People walked in after me and had orders taken while we waited. Then three different waitresses stopped by, none took our order. We finally got some silverware as we waited for some one to take our order and it had black colors food particles crusted on my three ur old daughters fork. We walked out. and as we walked out some on asked if we wanted to order. i said no, mentioned the fork and she ignored what said. nasty and never again

Went here for breakfast the other day. Great hidden gem. Had the Georgia omelette that was really good. But the grilled chocolate chip muffin here is the star. Dangerously good. Get two orders. You are welcome!

I guess that coming here for breakfast and not having a muffin was clearly not the way to go. I don't really like sweet, doughy baked goods. But grilled muffins? OK, granted, grilling makes almost everything better, so there's a compelling reason to come back for another try. Other than the muffins, not too dissimilar from other eggs-and-bacon slinging breakfast joints on the breakfast-loving South Miami-to-Palmetto Bay corridor. The main difference is that unlike some of the other places, which tend to be nominally Jewish-style hash houses, this one is nominally Southern-style. My spinach omelet was competent with a big mound of taters, the orange juice tasted fresh, and the coffee didn't taste like hot dirt. So all in all, a decent breakfast. My only real complaint here was with the price of the omelet add-ons. $2 extra to add mushrooms, and another $2 for onions (or pretty much anything else?) That's certainly on the steep side, and discourages any kind of omelet customization. Maybe this is their way of saying "just order a freakin' muffin already, will ya?"

Such a great little spot hidden away in pinecrest. It was bit hard to find since its hidden in a shopping center. BUT i love tbat noone knows about this hidden secret. No lines, no waiting. The service was awesome super nice staff. The grilled muffins ... one word AMAZING. The specials on the board are myst haves. I had the steawberry fields - stuffed french toast with marscapone and cream and more whipped cream. It was dessert for breakfast. Just found my breakfast spot. Hands down best breakfast ever!

I truly don't get it....honestly. This place is meh, AT BEST. Yet it gets super packed. It's not bad but it's definitely not even in the zip code of being anywhere near good. It attracts a certain crowd, and they are mostly repeat customers. I have tried various dishes here over the course of many visits, and am yet to be wowed. The place is very simple in it's set up, and the food is fair. I will tell you the prices are beyond ridiculous.....very expensive for simple breakfast items. Kudos to the service though....very friendly and willing staff, albeit a bit slow at times....

Trust the name, you need to get a muffin when you eat here, my favorite is the blueberry, toasted with butter and a glass of OJ (mouth just started to water). The sausage & gravy is pretty good, just a hint of spice to it, but a little pepper fixes it up just fine. Everything else they make is fine. Really the only reason I gave them 3 stars is that they are on the slow side, and their prices are a bit more than what I truly think it is worth.

My wife and I both had the eggs benedict. I had the Nova Benedict and she had the traditional. The hollandaise sauce was not very good at all. Very thick and semi chunky; an ok (at best) flavor but I've had much, much better. Now, their specialty is obviously muffins and I have to say their corn muffin was delicious. There were also some other things on the menu that I would maybe go back for but on the other hand I also thought that it was a bit pricey for what we ate so I'm not sure. Probably not to be honest.

I am constantly on the hunt for new breakfast places to grab a nice savory meal on a weekend morning. I'll admit I was really really curious to try the Muffin Tin, despite the fact that I'm not the biggest muffin fan. However, I figured if ever there was a place to become a convert it would be there. Inside is warm and feel like your standard suburban bagel bar kind of breakfast place. I did like the murals on the wall for an extra cozy feeling. The tables are all pushed together so if it is really crowded I could see it being like a family style meal with your neighbors. Much to my disappointment, I couldn't find anything from the muffin counter that I thought was worth the carbs. Yes they looked perfectly lovely, lined up and supposedly hot from the oven. However, they were out of the only flavors I actually wanted to try, the zucchini and the pumpkin, and to be honest all the other standard flavors failed to pique my interest. Hanging my head in embarrassment, I'll confess I did not try the muffins at a place called the Muffin Tin. Pretty pathetic. That being said, if you are a muffin aficionado they've got corn, blueberry, chocolate chip, coffee cake and a couple more choices to fill you up. Instead, I opted for an omelette with spinach, onions and swiss. It was definitely fine, nothing crazy inventive nor particularly exciting though. The potatoes it came with were generous and filling, again your standard fare taste-wise. My orange juice was reasonably fresh and there wasn't an overabundance of pulp. My biggest complaint would probably be that they had two board of specials (with different choices on each), but I completely missed them while ordering off the menu. Kind of wish I had known since the slightly more interesting omelette options like a sundried tomato and feta were all there. Why not just put them on one board, and either mention them to patrons or put a copy of the specials as an insert with the menu? Otherwise though our service was great and it was an decent breakfast option for your basic choices. I've had better, but I've also had much worse. Again though, I did not have the muffins so perhaps that is the tipping point to greatness!

Muffins!!! This place is the real deal. It's got regulars coming and going, an owner who knows the majority of people dining at her place and muffins that make you want to never tell anyone about this place. If you go, and you totally should, have your muffin grilled it's amazingness!!! They don't even need butter or jam, just sit there and munch out on these fresh, moist pieces of breakfasty deliciousness. It is also notable that these people know how to properly poach an egg, they even gave it to me in a bowl so I could sop up all the yolky goodness. I like this place, I really do!

    (4)
  • Michelle C.

Basically, you have to order a muffin. They are really good. If your lucky, you can catch a blueberry muffin straight out of the oven. Otherwise, ask for it toasted. They'll cut it in half, and put it through a toaster oven. I then apply 1/2 a stick of butter and turn it into a full meal on its own. They do nice pancakes, and sausage & gravy as well (not real spicy). The atmosphere is typical café. They are a little slow. But how much of a rush are you in if you are out to breakfast on a Saturday morning?

    (4)
  • Tiana F.

it's like eating with your family...if you're family was a bunch of strangers, but really the place is cozy and breakfast is yummy. it's family-style seating so if you're squeamish about sharing a table with a stranger than don't go during the rush. been here about 3x, love their eggs, bacon, potatos, toast, and muffins, and will keep going. the hot chocolate is watery, but i'm spoiled since the best hot chocolates I've had in Miami are La Palma in West Miami and Delices de France in Pinecrest.

Friendly, if not super-speedy, service. Large dining room and not crowded, but then again I was there kinda late morning on a weekday. Food was good, table at the window was nice, and the prices were fair. Overall, I was pretty happy with this experience.

I've been here only twice, didn't have a muffin. When I go out for breakfast, which is rare, I wanna EAT! My grandmother did try the corn muffin, which we were told came right out of the oven, but it was not warm at all, and she thought it was too sweet. In any case, the scrambled eggs are pretty good. I tried the turkey patties, a new thing, and they were quite good. The pancakes are delicious, fluffy, the best part of my meal definitely. The home fries are golden and perfect. My dad loves their corn beef hash, if you like that sort of thing. The coffee is average. Our waitress was really friendly and came by our table several times to freshen up our coffee. I would eat here again but it's not the first place I would choose for breakfast.

  • cristina o.

this place is called the muffin tin right? famous for their muffins, right? when we asked our waitress a question about the orange cranberry muffins she said, i dont know, they are from a mix!!! we asked about the corned beef hash, is it homemade? no, from a can. i will NEVER go back. if i wanted breakfast from a can or box i would eat it at home. nevermind, i wouldn't even buy corned beef in a can. just another beacon of disappointment in mia's breakfast scene.
