What a treat! I was in town to visit family and they invited me to dinner at their favorite regular haunt. I couldn't have been more impressed with this restaurant. They are committed to authentic Bologna-style cooking and it shows. No Olive Garden style sauces here! We ordered Caprese as an appetizer. The homemade mozzarella was delicious. All the herbs are grown on the premises and the basil and balsamic were great quality. No sad large leaves or wimpy vinegar here. I ordered the maccheroni verdi in a pink sauce. The other guests had the tagliatelle with bolognese and tortellini with bolognese. All pasta is made on the premises and it was prepared to complete perfection. I tried a bit of every dish and can emphatically recommend them all. The staff are amazing and they seem to really make an effort to get to know their patrons. A few tips: -Definitely make a reservation -Trust their judgement on the wine
One of our favorite places Owners and staff are wonderful Love the ambiance Casual elegance
Way Too Expensive for Very Small Portions. Yes it's authentic but we where very disappointed. It should be $$$$ Not $$. Very limited menu.

Awesome, friendly bartenders. Fun place to hang out by the pool. Great band the night we stayed at the hotel. Food was reasonable and good. We really enjoyed this tiki bar. Cold beverages and fun!
I came here last yr and this year. Last year I enjoyed their food very much and loved longisland ice tea but this year nachos are still amazing like last time, other food is just not like food I eat last year... assuming chef changed? Anyway my memories from here still great, im giving them 4 stars

Nicolette Lies First time at Mad Moe's after having driven past it for months. It was not at all what I expected. It was better. First, you drive by and see a place called Mad Moes that looks from the outside like it is a biker bar/ hangout and it may turn you off. Don't be deceived. The bar is on par with high end steakhouses in terms of décor. The booths are comfortable and the staff are friendly and engaging. There are more TVs than wall space which makes me think this is probably a fun place to watch the game. They even have pitchers of beer . Our server was Nicolette. She was enthusiastic and helpful and had very well manicured eyebrows. The sun was in my eyes and she promised me she would have it gone in minutes. Turns out that was a lie. The sun actually took 7 minutes to set and that is the only blemish on otherwise delightful service. We started with the loaded fries. HOLY CRAP. They were really good!!! But you get 645 pounds of potatoes so if you are just looking for a light appetizer this may not be the one for you. I was a happy fat boy though. The server recommended the Philly so I got a blackened chicken philly. It was good but heavily blackened. The kitchen likes to season. I like it that way but if you are watching salt intake just ask for it lightly blackened. My wife got the Turkey Burger which she wouldn't recommend. She said there were consistency and flavor issues that were pretty bad. However we both really enjoyed the environment and the service so we will be back. The only actual downside is that one wall was all open windows so you can sit outside at the bar. The reason this was a downside is because cigarette smoke kept drifting in while we were eating. It cost this place at least one star in my review. I don't like smelling and breathing cigarette smoke when I am not eating. I hate it when I am trying to enjoy my dinner. So if you can get past the possibility of smoke...I am sure it isn't a constant thing; and the fact that Nicolette lies about her control over the Sun then Mad moes may be a nice new place to try.
I've been here several times and have ordered burgers, fish sandwiches, and most recently the short rib mac and cheese. I've never been disappointed with the food, and it is very high ranking as far as food at a sports bar goes. Service is usually prompt and attentive. The portions are large and easily shareable. Burgers are cooked well and come with some of the best fries I have had. The grouper sandwich is so fresh and delicious, its one of the best in town. The short rib mac and cheese is hands down the best macaroni and cheese I have ever eaten. I love short ribs and was so excited to have this for lunch.
Great food and atmosphere. They have a avacado egg roll that is amazing as well as their appetizers.

Their pizza is all I've tried. Not too bad.
Frankie's has been around for at least 30 years, originally a few miles down the road in Nokomis. It changed hands about 5 years ago, and the pizza has suffered a bit. It's still good, with crunchy thin crust and good tasting sauce, but it's like someone decided to cheapen up the ingredients. Crust doesn't taste as fresh, not quite as much cheese, etc. I still stop in a couple times a year. The meatball sandwiches are recommended, too. It really is one of the best pizza places in the area, but that's not saying all that much. Finding a pie that rates above a 7 around here is a challenge.
Best pizza in town. A trip down is never complete without a pizza from Frankie's. it's the real deal.

Thank goodness for this good old fashion breakfast place. Wonderful staff and super service. I am pretty boring and have not tried more than the traditional breakfast stuff but I have taken friends who are more adventurous and all have raved about the food.
On my English friends recommendation I ordered the Full English Breakfast. It was his first visit here and couldn't stop telling me how good a proper breakfast is. The disappointment on his face when it arrived told the sorry story. He tells me that a Full English comprises: bangor (English sausage/s), bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding, hash brown, fried bread, "baked" beans and more. We had one small sausage, two slices of lovely bacon, two eggs, three small mushrooms!!!! a small slice of tomato, american breakfast potatoes and some "baked" beans in an extremely small serving bowl with two slices of toast. He was very disappointed, the owners apparently are from England so you'd expect them to serve a better product.
We moved to the area a month ago and have been to Scrambles six or seven times. It's a nice easy walk from our house so it's a go-to favorite. Each time it is an enjoyable experience. The wait staff is friendly and the food is good. My particular favorite is the Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise which I have had three times now and it has always been cooked perfectly. When I cut into the eggs they oozed just as they are supposed to. Friends went with us recently and they enjoyed the bangers and grits. If you are in the area stop by for a breakfast treat. They serve the tea in a separate pot along with a warmed cup, just as it should be but never is! We did try the Friday night dinners and will give it another try. I meant to order the All You Can Eat Fish Fry but wound up ordering Fried Cod, which was good but, because I'm on a low carb program, the portion was a little small. I'll know better next time.

Went here for a anniversary dinner. Everything was great, food was fantastic. We had appetizers of oyster Rockefeller and French onion soup which was fantastic. Then out main dishes of the New York strip and salmon. Both great, the steak was absolutely perfect and juicy and came with a baked potato. And the salmon was fresh and tasty. Ended up doing desert too of the banana bread pudding which was also good. Service was great she got everything right and she was attentive. But she seemed very uptight and was scared of making mistakes. And it was slow at the time and I saw bussers making circles around the restaurant. I think I saw the same busser pass our table 5 times. I'm guessing there's a strict manager around or something but it was a bit uncomfortable imo seeing this. Although. Food was great. I will be returning.
Sadly, our party of four came here upon reading a review . Our experience was so terrible that I would never wish it on another patron and none of us will ever return. We had one in our party who ordered a medium-rare steak. It came out well-done and the manager (one of the sons, I discovered) said it was the lighting and we must be confused. Our salads were soggy and not fresh, the other orders tasted like they came out of a can, and the service was unfriendly. The worst part was the management attitude: it seemed the manager couldn't care less about our business - he told us to pay our bill and leave although we tried to discuss the issues with him. This place is outdated and the food is overrated. Never again.
Excellent all around. Waitress was very sweet to our 4 year old. All our meals were top notch and affordable. Best prime rib I've had in a long time.

Went to a biker event here on Sunday. Just what I look for in a biker bar. Cold beer, plenty of paved parking and plenty of like minded people. Crowd was older as was the help. Had a nice time and will visit again when in the area. $3 for a bottle of Lite beer with live music is the right price.
As far as roadside biker bars go this place was big: huge bar to sit at, 3 pool tables, and a small stage for a band where they have live music Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Good service. Cold beer. I'll be back.
Cool, laid back bar with friendly people and good bartenders. We would definitely come back when we're back in town. The locals were friendly and welcomed us right in - which doesn't always happen in local bars so it was nice.

I'm writing this fresh from this restaurant. We found Spanish Pointe yesterday and brought our wives back for sunset and dinner. Spectacular setting on the water....real Tiki Bar atmosphere. That is where the problems started. One waiter(did a great job)had to cover the entire restaurant plus tend bar. No one was at the front so we seated ourselves. Owner's daughter showed up later but was no help getting the food and drinks out. We finally were able to place our drink and food order, including calamari. Time passed with no food, finally stopped the waiter asking about the appetizer. He immediately came back with the Calamari but it was completely cold....sent it back. 10 minutes later food was delivered with a fresh order of calamari. Since we had our entrees' we sent the calamari back. By the way, all of our food was very good. Someone in the kitchen knows what they're doing. About this time, we find that the owner was setting two tables away. One of our group goes to the owner, (setting alone) and tells him that this is a great setting. With proper staffing, this would be a million dollar location. All this was done in a manner of commiserating with him over the fact that wait staff hadn't shown. His comment was "I already make a million dollars because I'm a cardiologist and don't worry about this restaurant". This was his attitude on the whole debacle(computer stopped working and couldn't produce our bill). We tipped our waiter above the 20% mark for his extra hard work. Told the owner when we were leaving that it was doubtful that we would be back and all we got was a shrug. Will not be back...too many good restaurants that appreciate your business.
It's Spanish Pointe Pub and Marina... with a capital PUB Great for sunset cocktails, brew and burgers, calamari, fried fish. VERY "l-o-c-a-l" bar with GOOD bar eats. Outside deck and tables. Boaters can tie up at their dock. Family friendly. Nice bay view. They close by 9pm. It's like a trip back in time... or the Twilight Zone episode "Stop at Wiloughby"
Fresh seafood right on the water, coupled with a cold drink. Who could ask for anything more? Been coming here for years and will keep on coming!

Used to live about 2 minutes from this amazing BREAKFAST place. That's right, breakfast. If you come for lunch, I would say just have breakfast FOR lunch. The eggs are prepared deliciously and the waffles and pancakes? PERFECT. The ladies who work here are so sweet. If you are ever craving a yummy breakfast, come here. You won't be disappointed, trust me. I've been eating here my whole life. :)
Went to this place today, it was closed and look abandoned. Somebody told me they have been close for at least 3 weeks.
Waffles with canned strawberries, not what we expected in florida. Also cheese omelet with sliced cheese on top.....who does that?

I made a horrible mistake for choosing this place to eat out of convenience. The hotel is really where this place is really nice. But the restaurant is very disappointing. The waiter is friendly that's the only good thing I can say. The service is extremely slow though took us an hour to get our food served from the time we ordered. Only 3 other tables around. We only ordered 2 entrees. Food is extremely disappointing. We ordered steak and pasta. I'm not expecting something super great. But the steak is so inedible. We only each cut a piece to try and didn't touch it after. The beef smell and taste awful. I think this is the worst steak I have ever had in my life. The pasta was supposed to be cooked with bacon and mushroom in creamy sauce. Ok I thought you can never go wrong with bacon. But I was so wrong. It taste a bit weird. But at least it's edible. So we eat 1/3 of the plate. I should've went with my gut earlier to drive out and eat somewhere else. Ruin my night.
This place was the worst place I have eaten in Florida this trip Had the prime rib asked for medium rare it came well done and burnt my wife had chicken Marsala it to was dried out she did not eat it
The bar in Bentley s has the best happy hour ever! Any liquor 2 for 1 4 to6 p Also great bar menu
