Ok BBQ - had pulled pork sandwich with 2 sides. Not a ton of meat and served on Texas Toast. Slaw was so so while collards were good once dressed w/ pepper sauce. Would go back if in the area but wouldn't make a special trip to find it

If you like ribs, this is your place! On Fridays & Saturdays after 4pm, all you can eat ribs for $10.99 (includes 1 side). On Sundays, all you can eat baby back ribs for $10.99 (includes 1 side). I was there on Sunday - excellent BBR's, & the service is excellent as well. Oh yeah, excellent "southern" sweet tea!

It appears this place is out of business. Too bad, it was excellent last time we stopped by.

Went here for lunch on a Sunday after reading the reviews. One of our local friends in town said it was hit or miss, but we should try it anyway. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich which was good and juicy. She liked the vinegar-based sauce for that. The coleslaw was okay she said. We both got the baked potatoes for sides, and they were very good. The butter and sour cream come in small individual containers. I also got the cornbread on the recommendation from the waitress who implied that it was freshly made. It was dry and crumbly. I couldn't even spread my butter on it because it crumbled. It wasn't very tasty either. My main entrée was the all you can eat baby back ribs. In my experience at most restaurants baby back ribs fall off the bone when you eat them. These were not. They had the consistency of biting into a ham. They were not fall off the bone at all. In fact the cook slices them most of the way through before they arrive at your table. They did have a lot of meat on them and had a smokey flavor. I mixed the two available barbecue sauces together to come up with something that worked. I didn't care for either of the watery like sauces, but I made do by mixing them. We don't make it into town very often from the East Coast, so we probably won't try them again. I was really looking forward to some great ribs, but it just wasn't up to standard.

Great service and food. We had the brisket dinner with fries and baked beans and one pound of chicken wings with the Carolina style sauce. The chicken wings were wonderful and the brisket dinner was very filling. And lots of locals kept coming in picking up carry out. Definitely make this a stop on your drive through Florida.

We had eaten at this restaurant previously and enjoyed a terrific meal. However, after driving all the way from West Palm Beach, we were terribly disappointed in our second visit. The authentic smoked pork that we remembered from our first meal was replaced with slices of pan fried, tough meat. Both the collard greens and the okra were extremely salty and the cornbread was dry. Also, they had run out of macaroni and cheese on a Saturday evening, even though there was only four other parties in the restaurant the entire time we were there. The service was friendly but slow and the waitress stood by watching over my husband as he signed the credit card bill. Very strange. In my opinion, Okeechobee desperately needs a quality barbecue restaurant .

I travel around the state for work and make it a practice to find good, local restaurants. I was on a BBQ kick before a meeting in Okeechobee so I Yelp'd it. A previous reviewer, four days earlier, had ranted about how good it was. I couldn't let such a timely review pass untested. I'm really glad I did. A minor map detail...the dot looks like it's on 441. The restaurant is actually east of the roadway by about 100 yards. Look for it on 6th Street. I had the rib meal for lunch. It was four rib bones served dry with two different sauces on the table for choices. I ate the first one without any sauce. FANTASTIC! I used to travel around the country and this is one of the best I've had. I tried both sauces (I forget the names) but both were good. They had collard greens, which I love. They didn't have the mac and cheese, but offered some sort of palm something salad. I wasn't that adventurous. I went with the fries which were hot, crisp, and not dripping in grease. Service was fantastic and listening to the locals greet each other and ask, "How's Mama doin?" brought back some good times from the in-laws in MS. While Okeechobee isn't exactly the mecca of high traffic, if you're in the area, find Geechee Mons and dine in. They have take out, but you'll miss the local flavor, pun intended. As I was leaving, I saw a platter of meat being delivered to a lady at the table next to me. There wasn't a green vegetable in sight, but that stack of meat almost made me order more.

First off the waitresses had excellent attitudes. My Wife had the brisket baked potato, which was a baked potato stuffed with brisket, AWESOME! This was a meal in itself and for around seven bucks you could not go wrong. I had the sampler platter which had ribs pork and brisket. Another awesome choice. The brisket was extremely tender almost melt in your mouth and with the barbecue sauce ....heaven. This place is brand-new apparently under new management or new ownership. One of the waitresses told me they were open since February 14, 2014, about a month before we came. If they maintain their same quality of food and clean atmosphere this place will do very well.

Stopped here on our way home from Tampa. We love BBQ, so we're always game to try a place that has good reviews. Sigh. I really wanted to like this place. The ambiance is classic small town BBQ joint, complete with red checkered table cloths. Clean and charming. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The food was just okay. The pulled pork sandwich was tender, but greasy. I really did not like the sauces. The meat on the bun was sweet, which was strange. The first sauce on the table was very sweet, with a hint of vinegar, and the second sauce was very sweet, with a hint of mustard. No heat at all in either sauce. Like the sauce for a glazed ham, maybe. The coleslaw was good. Nice balance of sweet, vinegar, and mayo. The fries were soggy. Boo. We also had an order of chicken tenders, which were nicely seasoned, crunchy, and make from real chicken breast. But the strange candied BBQ really soured (haha) the experience. I would possibly try this place again (rather than eat fast food), but next time I would have the catfish.
