When visiting my parents recently they wanted to take us to an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet they had discovered in Ocala. Now, the fear of food poisoning gripped me but I decided to go along for the ride and give it a shot. Glad I did, as this ended up being a spectacular pig out! Walking into the lobby they have a large sign listing all the rates and coming from NYC I just had to laugh as it's ridiculously cheap. Dinner buffet at $10.99 for adults. My parents took the senior discount which made it $9.99 a person. Beer and wine was only $3.50 a bottle imports and $2.50 a bottle domestics. A mug of beer at .99 cents and $6.25 pitchers. This is insane! Buffet City does not skimp on the food offerings! This place is huge and has rows and rows of food trays and options to choose from. It's crazy good. The selection is diverse and most excellent. There is something for everyone here. They have around a dozen different sushi choices and they are made fresh. All types of Chinese/Asian food options with a mix of some American stuff, including a dessert area. Just so much to choose from. There is even a hibachi station with a ton of ingredients to choose from and it is prepared hot right in front of you. The chef will cater to any requests. Again, everything is very fresh and the staff kept refilling and cleaning the food tray areas. Actually, I was impressed at how clean and bright the place looked. Lots of seating. Clean bathroom too. The staff is very attentive, and as we walked in were asked if we had any needs or were celebrating anything. We mentioned it was my mom's and grandma's birthday and near the end of our meals "happy birthday" played over the speakers and the waitresses came over with a cake and sang to them! I was shocked as we did not plan this and it was such a wonderful touch done totally free by the restaurant. Mom and grandma were so happy. For that I will always be grateful to them. They have my biz next time in town! Also, our drinks were always refilled promptly, finished plates were removed quickly, and the staff came by a few times to see if we were enjoying our meals. I must have went back and forth to that buffet around ten times to fill my plate and try out different foods. Yes, it was a buffet that I made a spectacle of myself at but I didn't care as I was in feast mode! Cheap, tasty, fresh, and clean. Buffet City was a pleasant surprise.

Buffet City was OK at best. This was our first visit to Buffet City and it will be our last. The baked crab meat had crusty ends like it had been sitting under the heating lamp too long. The looked old and of substandard quality. The stuffed mushrooms were void of any real flavor. The rest of the food was below average. For the price they charge at Buffet City, go just a couple of miles further toward I-75 on College Rd (SR 200) to Ocean Buffet, where the building is much nicer, the food selection is much better, they actually have sushi, and the food is fresh. We do not recommend Buffet City at all. Avoid it and go to Ocean Buffet in Ocala or Ichiban Buffet in Leesburg. **** One more thing.....It took forever to get our check at the end of dinner. The server sat one table away from us playing on her phone. We had to ask for the check.

This was my first and last time going to this place..This place is horrible not a good variety of food and the food that was there was cold and old dry the rice was hard stuck to the tray not much to pick from just plain old sushi..for the price I would recommend Ocean Buffet is way better fresh food is coming out at all time and sushi is very good ... This place is basically and EMPTY CITY!!

Been here a couple of times, food seemed okay. Saw newscast on channel 6 about restaurants in Florida on the health inspectors watch list. Hate to say but Buffet City was number three on that list. Multiple failing grades on cleanliness and proper food storage techniques. They did seem to finally fix the food temp warnings but I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon or at all for that matter. Sorry Buffet City.

This place is a good bang for the buck! It is your typical buffet with an Asian staff, so the service is good but not entirely friendly especially at busy times. I started eating here because they had sushi. The first time it was good but the more I went the less sushi variety they put out. Also the rice has too much of a vinegary taste, it almost tastes like a cleaning product for lack of better words. As we all know sushi is all about the rice, as well as quality fish, and if the rice doesn't taste good then the sushi won't. Other types of food here are decent and you have a lot of variety to choose from. There is always plenty of parking and seats. This place is so huge, it would take a lot to fill it . Some of the seats need repair, and a little touch up with paint could be used here and there. Like I said, if you are looking for inexpensive and a good variety then this is the place.

The worst buffet I've been to since the one on 200 that's changed hands many times shut down. Everything was awful and the sushi was worse than the grocery store kind.

This buffet has had its ups and downs over several years; it's most certainly in a DOWN right now...! One whole line of buffet island offerings has been REMOVED...thus reducing selection by 1/3 or more. Some time ago, the food had actually improved (if one can inagine that!)...but no more. Many favorites are just gone (the stuffed oyster shells, etc) and the rest is allowed to sit...and sit...until dried out or rendered into glop. Food is not exchanged regularly; even the hot 'n sour soup (my personal test at ANY asian place, buffet or not) is not as good by far. One of the 'servers' brings her bratty child to work with her and the kid is REALLY obnoxious...climbing all over the booths and bothering patrons.....and the whole restaurant...well, just doesn't SMELL very good...! As it's mostly new people and BIG time cheapening of the food offered, we suspect new 'owners'. Any 'good value' is wiped out by the now poor food quality...and the SMELL....! We will NOT be going back any time soon...!

I visited them over the holidays to have dinner with the familiy, the food was brought out fresh and it was to par with other Asian cusine in the area, I was really glad the staff was very polite and helpful and they even gave my 4 year old extra attention (he can be a handful sometimes) i said it before and i will have to say it again, the best Asian buffet on SR200 if not the county.

If you like meat that's been dissolved into glop by way too much MSG, you'll love this place. You'll find quantity, but not quality; so if your goal is to just fill up your gut, stop in--but I warned you. Just awful Chinese food! This is as far from good Chinese food as the Earth is from Uranus. Ick!

Not bad for a buffet, price is fair, place is clean..and the habachi area is a nice option to have..would have given a four star if customer appreciation and service was better,especially that it was not during a peak time.

Not very good at all not worth the price, spent the whole day nauseous after we ate there. Save the money and just order Chinese at home
