Excellent service and fantastic food. ...we always sit at the grill counter and the friendly and professional cooks always greet us as we catch up on the latest in Ocala .... I'm loving the team effort between the staff ... We always order a big bowl of the mussels! YUMMY!!!! and have started splitting something different on the menu each time we visit a different city on our travels. Carrabas is our NUMBER ONE place to hang out and eat. :-)

Headed home from a long trip and thought this chain would be a safe and fast choice. Perhaps we would have been better off at McDs. I had chicken Marsala and the chicken wasn't bad. Perhaps a bit over cooked. Came with a salad and it wasn't bad either. It also came with pasta and it was terribly overlooked How does an Italian restaurant overtook pasta? My husband has one if the specials that started with an appetizer and we chose brussetta I think the topping was canned and it was not edible. He got Parmesan encrusted chicken and it was okay just a bit over cooked as well. The potatoes that came with it has zero flavor. They tasted like instant with less flavor. Since the appetizer wasn't edible they gave us tiramisu which was also inedible. Next time we will try the Panera Bread behind this place.

We have the most incredible meal. I have never beem disappointed by ANY Carrabas. This was no different. We had the Lightlghtly breaded grilled shrimp and scalops in a lemon butter sauce which was fantastic! Both the shrimp and scallops were the most tender we have ever had. Another had the Mahi Mahi with Artichoke in a basil lemon sauce was awesome. The third entree was the skewered beef that was out of this world. I dont reeber the sauce but the flavor was an olfactory party! Lastly, two of us had the Tiramasu and one had the vanilla bean custard with rasberries. The Tirimasu was wonderful and light. The custard was to die for! Light rich flavor alone but add the rasberries (not a sickish glaze but fresh rasberries)and well tjis dw a ert is simply epic ! To top it off, our waiter, Dominic was very attentive without being intrusive and provided superior service. The front manager was very genuine about how we enjoyed our meal, had a great personality, witty and warm. I am a decerning diner and have eaten at some of the best restaraunts in the world so I am not an easy mark. I was so impreased, We WILL go back for sure! Soon! Often! How bout tomorrow? Yeah!!! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I reaerve that for restaraunts wherw the atmosphere is as wonderful as the food.

Lobster Mac N cheese ($17 mind you!) was a pasta soup. So watery that I couldn't pick up the "cheese" with my fork. The "cheese" ran through the prongs of the fork. Imagine trying to eat lobster bisque with a fork. Yup. But our waiter, Michael, was fantastic. He exchanged it without incident and very quickly, for a fett Alfredo with chicken, mushroom and peas. That was amazing. They shud have done more considering we got a lobster macNcheese soup that came with no apologies. But the meal turned out well and we left satisfied.

Not what I would expect from Carrabas! We ate there on a Saturday night, because all of our other favorite restaurants had 1hr+ wait times. I see why they were not that busy! We received poor service, very small food portions, and very EXPENSIVE! The food did not taste great; I make better Italian food @ home & I"m not Italian!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
