My wife and I went to The Schnitzel Lodge today and pigged out. I had the Jegerschnitzel and my wife had the Schweinebraten. mine came with a absolutely delisious salad, potato salad and homemade bread What made the salad so delisious was the homemade ranch dressing. The potato salad was very good as was tthe bread. They bake their bread in the mornings for the lunch crowd and the bake another fresh batch for the supper crowd. My Jegerschnitzel was perfect. My wife said that her Schweinebraten and Rotkohl was just like her Mutti and Oma made. I tasted it and have to say that my Schweinebraten is nowhere near as good as theirs. We had a couple of Weißbiers that was straight out of the tap that went down so smooth. THEN we had a Fleisch Salat which was excellent. THEN I had some Apple Strudel with a good quality vanilla ice cream. I wouldn't let my wife have any of that because I'm watching her weight. Although it's 55 miles from our house, we are going to go there at least once or twice a month. It's that good!

Ate here last night and I have to say super not impressed... The service was a bit inattentive and the food was good just ehh.... I had pork cutlets with mushroom sauce and it had a taste of powder Knorr brand sauce but with fresh mushrooms. I also had this appetizer of what seemed to be chopped Bologna and may mixed with relish. It was super tasty but there was so much of it it lost its appeal after a few bites. Might go back again

Stopped in for Sunday brunch and was surprised it was a buffet. Excellent atmosphere, freshly cooked entries coming out every few minutes. Delicious food too. Schnitzel with jäger sauce and pork gravy was excellent, spätzle was also very good, tangy sauerkraut, snappy bratwurst. Wish they had a few more mustards to choose from though.

We ate here for the second time tonight and were delighted once again. The Farmers' Schnitzel was the special and it was wonderful with perfectly sautéed onions, mushrooms and bacon along with the Schnitzel topped with two fried eggs. Delicious and large enough to share. We ordered an extra salad for a starter, crisp and fresh spring greens with a handmade buttermilk dressing. Other good choices include the Jagerschnitzel and one with mushroom gravy. Try the spaztle and red cabbage as your sides. The music was charming and very late 20th century German and the atmosphere was casual and welcoming. We will return most definitely.

Great German beer, schnitzel is delicious. Owner even made a bet with us, he lost and we got free dessert.

My wife and two small children were just there for our 6 year Wedding anniversary. We lived in San Antonio, TX and were married in Fredericksburg, TX an old german city. This place the Schnitzel is equivalent to a fast food German restaurant. Ordering anything Pork or traditional you will be disappointed. The meat was pressed or formed and was definitely not a solid piece of regular pork. They were over priced as well, good luck if you go there.

Recently tried this place for the first time for their Sunday brunch buffet. This was our first visit after the change from Helga's to the current name. The buffet was $17.50, which is comparable to what their dinner prices are per meal. I would recommend going on Sunday to get the nice variety of dishes. The workers were constantly bringing out fresh food for the buffet, so nothing got old and soggy like at some buffets. They had plain schnitzel with a few different sauces, including the always delicious jagerschnitzel sauce with mushrooms. One of our favorite items was the schnitzel crepes, which featured a small piece of schnitzel wrapped in a crepe with fresh greens and a sauce that paired very well. I would definitely return here again for the brunch.

This place is fantastic - it's just getting it's start and the food is excellent. I haven't had German food this authentic since I lived there. Excellent service. What a great blend of flavors and exciting menu options. Give this place a try fellow Deutschland lovers!

This restaurant has been through many owners and managers. Each time I'm there I mention that the French fries are just not German and I wish they would consider serving fried potatoes like they used to. The rest of the food is terrific. Service, selection and taste are wonderful. But PLEASE bring back the home fried potatoes.

The atmosphere is pretty fantastic- it's near authentic and very fun. The waitstaff is incredibly friendly, attentive and super sweet with our kiddo as well. These two things are why Schnitzel Lodge gets three stars. The menu is sadly small. I understand it's the "schnitzel" lodge but they need more options!! I had the two roasted bratwurst dinner with fries (they were out of potato salad). The brats were dry and overlooked and just okay. My husband had the jaëger schnitzel and fries. The schnitzel itself was again, just okay. The gravy was very good- best thing either of us had on our plates. They were very polite and brought out a plate of spätzel for our son- but $9 for noodles. Seriously?!? If they added more appetizers (POTATO PANCAKES!!!!!!) and more options other than just the schnitzel options they'd be better off. Oh and check your prices- $$$ for mediocre food won't bring customers back.

This place is pretty much Helga's(previous name) all over again. Over priced and mediocre food

Delicious food, great service, good prices. Goulash for appetizer, true fresh salad, potato salad just right, sauerkraut made from scratch that was perfect, schnitzel that can't be beat by anyone, and all the desserts (we sampled and shared). Will definitely go back!
