Tried this place out after constantly driving past it along partin drive. The blue and tan triangle canvases were so adorable I wanted to come inside. No gluten free menu specifically but the awesome waiter helped me modify a shrimp and chicken house salad with balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing to make it safe for me. I'm a sucker for complimentary foods and when the waiter brought out the show string fries and gluten free sauce my friend and our kids scarfed them down while we waited. The people there were mostly older people and couples, but with our semi nosy little ones we didn't feel like we were out of place. Great experience overall and it's kinda randomly a fancy looking restaurant against the older buildings around it. Great spot, next to the Niceville splash pad, library, community center and across the street from the staff of life health store. Only 10 minutes away from Eglin AFB too. Decor is nice nothing too fancy and we lived the fish tank by the front door area. Will be back for more.

My husband and I were on vacation in Destin, and I bought a Restaurant.com certificate for One20 Bistro based on Yelp reviews and the menu. What a great decision! To start with, the waiter brought out french fries with some type of chili sauce that was tasty (like bread at other restaurants). I wish we had known that was coming before we ordered an appetizer! The Fried Green Tomatoes were a good choice. I ordered the Gulf Fish entree, and my husband ordered the Tri Tip Sirloin. Both were delicious, as was the dessert. Overall, a real five-star dining experience.

If you're looking for a culinary treat in Niceville, look no further. This is a true gem owned and operated by the chef, a Niceville native. You won't be disappointed! Stop by their website to see the full menu. Also, this isn't Nida - that place is closed so ignore those reviews. As of this writing, mine is the only review of One20.

Wonderfully charming and refined atmosphere, completely reiterated in the food! Yummy, different, layered flavors with refined taste appealing to all palettes. Service is so friendly you feel like a friend from the moment you enter. Amazing pedigree on the chef as well. Wow! Lucky Niceville folks to have this gem amidst them.

We were a little underwhelmed with our dining experience. We went for Sunday brunch and had high expectations from looking at the menu. The food was so-so. I chose the chef's panini of the day, which was a sorry looking sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese on what I assume was store-bought sliced bread. I was hoping for a ciabatta roll, but no luck there. Both dishes we ordered were a bit greasy. The positives? The delicious fries they provide to each table and the good service. The restaurant was small, but cute, and provided a nice dining atmosphere. I'm not sure we would return if we were in the area again.

Great! We moved from Niceville in 2004. This is truly a great addition to the community. We were a party of seven and all left full and happy. Great food and great service. Try the shrimp and grits. A unique way to prepare it. Will be back.

Awesome place! Super good food, friendly staff and the owner even came out and gave us our fried green tomatoes. We came here on a groupon special and will return for sure. This is a special spot, you gotta come check it out!

I really don't know why this restaurant has received so many high reviews. Went there this weekend, because I'd bought a Groupon deal online. We did not have a reservation, however was seated. The decor was a good attempt at covering up old warped paneling. The bathroom was dirty, and the dining room was freezing cold. We were served complimentary fries, which were the best part of the meal. Next was a visually interesting Cesar Salad, that desperately needed some fresh cracked black pepper. I would have also included some black olives. We then ordered the Tuna Poke appetizer, which tasted more like mango salsa. Way too much mango juice to taste any of the tuna. Our main entrees were pork, and the shrimp and grits. The pork was dry and the grits were the blandest that I've had on the coast. And... no spoon was served to eat them with. We could only come to the conclusion that we were purposely served bad food because we weren't paying full price (although I tipped the server based on it), or that it is a one time only place to visit - to simply say you've been there (but why)? Won't go back, and won't recommend it.

I've only eaten here twice since they opened several years ago. Cant say anything bad about the food except that it doesnt blow me away for the price thats asked. The service has been excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. What turns me off about this restaurant is the building. They've dressed it up nicely but theres only so much you could do. The first time we ate there the vent dripped on me continuously and I worried it was going to get in my food so we moved to another table. The second time we ate there i kept getting bumped by the person behind me, just felt so cramped. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 1 Price: 2 Food: 3 1/2

It was alright, nothing special. We had a really dumb waitress that wasn't any help on selections. She poured a beer for me that was half or more foam. We started with the Pork Potstickers which had no flavor. I had the Grilled Fish Tacos that didn't have much fish. My wife had Olive oil Poached tuna "BLAT" which she said was descent. The others at the table had a One 20 Bistro burger that was pretty good but a little dry and the other had the Gulf Coast Salad which she said was pretty good. It was ok but we won't go back.

Great little place! We had dinner here on a Saturday night. Had a reservation and were seated right away. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed the Parmesan Fries that come with a spicy dipping sauce and shared the Pork Pot Stickers appetizer. Hubby had the Flat Iron Steak and I ordered the Seared Tuna Steak. Both entrees were awesome. To top off the meal we ordered the chocolate peanut butter pie, and it was really good. We both agreed that we will definitely come back again. If you haven't tried One20 you should make plans to go.

Good food great service. One out of four meals was not very good (fatty steak), which is the reason for the four stars. However, the other meals and appetizers were amazing. The place is small, so make a reservation--call ahead. Overall, this is an excellent place to eat.

We went here for lunch and the service was friendly and the food was amazing. They start you out with some perfectly cooked french fries and a spicy dipping sauce kind of like getting bread at restaurants or getting chips and salsa at a Mexican food place. We ordered the chef's special appetizer and it was delicious! It had fresh chips with tuna, mango, cucumber, beans, onion, watermelon salsa mix. Next I ordered the fish of the day Mahi Mahi with kale, onions, olives, and tomatoes. This had an amazing burst of flavor in every bite! We will definitely be going back to this bistro very soon!

Food is simply amazing, Dan really does a bang up job. Reservations are recommended for Friday-Saturday. Walking in, youre greeted and instantly feel at home. Keep an eye out for fantastic groupons for one to two couples. You make your money back off one entree and a glass of wine. Watch seat positioning under vents during a/c weather as you may get dripprd on by condensation. If you are interested, Dan does monthly cooking classes as well.

I had to travel to Niceville for work and checked on Yelp and found this Bistro. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by smiling, friendly staff. The complimentary fries and sauce were awesome. I had a Caesar Salad and Shrimp Scampi pasta for lunch. It was nothing short of amazing. Will definitely keep this place in mind for future visits.

First time was a great experience. Call ahead and make reservations if you plan on dining here, the venue is small and they stay fairly busy. Had the Beets & Goat Cheese starter, the Mahi for dinner & the Raspberry Cheesecake for dessert - all excellently prepared & well presented. The wife had Shrimp & Grits while the kids had the Mac & Cheese - all great. The staff was polite, charming & on the ball. Will definitely be back. Cons - there is a rather noticeable rumble from some machinery (a/c?) & the condition of the trim is a bit rough & could really use some attention to elevate the aesthetics.

Starters: Bistro Shrimp and Tuna Poke and wine. Main: Skrimp n Grits, Mahi (fish of the day special), Flat Iron Steak and the boy had the Bistro Burger, the latter two both cooked medium. The best? I tried all 4 and I'm still debating.

Loved fries instead of warm bread! From start to finish dinner was great, glad a groupon bought me there. Too bad we aren't in town too long or I'd come back to try the other items on the menu, especially the dessert that so many others posted about!

Visiting from the west coast and wanted some good food. This place is great from the survive to the food. Nice place for a glass of wine and or a nice dinner setting. If I make it back I would eat here again.

My husband were staying in Destin for the weekend so we searched some places to try. I also happened to see a groupon here so I thought it'd be the perfect opportunity to go. We arrived as soon as they opened and were greeted right away. The servers were extremely helpful and friendly, knew a lot of the menu items and made great recommendations. Our groupon allowed us to get an appetizer, two entrees and two house wines. For the appetizer we tried the tuna poke with fresh made tortilla chips, it was sensational! We have had tuna tar tar before but the addition of pineapple and spices just made it even better. For our entrées I got the curried chicken with potato mash, asparagus and a coconut curry sauce, it was incredibly delicious however my biggest critic is that it had too much coconut sauce for my liking. My husband got the bistro burger, it was well seasoned and not your standard burger by any means. For the house wine I would highly recommend their German Riesling! Overall it was great! Wish we could back!

My husband and I just got back from a tasty dinner at this place. :) we got lucky and found a groupon where we spend 32$ for two glasses of house wine, one appetizer, and two entrees. So my review might be a tad biased due to the amazing deal. First off, we were greeted warmly. We arrived 15 minutes after opening so we were the first patrons there. We were immediately seated. The first thing I noticed were their menus which were printed on just thicker printer paper. My menu was missing the backside, but I used my husbands to see what I was missing so not a big deal but still something I hope they fix. We got the bistro shrimp as our appetizer, and they brought us an order of fries which they call their "bread" course. GENIUS. Fries instead of bread sounds waaay better. Especially since the fries and the dipping sauce were delicious. The bistro shrimp were very tasty and slightly spicey. Both full of flavor. My husband ordered the mustard rubbed pork chop...which sounded good but ended up tasting TOO mustardy. My husband loves mustard and he found it overpowering, and since I'm not a huge mustard fan I was not a fan of the pork chops either. My entree was the coffee ground pressed flat iron steak. It sounded awesome because I'm a girl who not only loves her meat, but also loves her coffee. This was TO DIE FOR. The coffee was just a slight taste but added an amazing flavor to the steak which was perfectly cooked. It was also served on a creamed corn and creamed spinach which I requested instead of sweet potato fries. I don't know how they make their cream but it makes veggies taste sinfully good. Seriously. OOMPH. So good. We're both not huge on wine so we selected the house Merlots which were waaay better quality than a lot of house wines I've tried at other restaurants. And finally the desert...we chose the whipped peanut butter chocolate pie. Oh. My. God. Quite possibly the most delicious, decadent pie I ever had. My husband is still talking about it. So final thoughts, great service, delicious food. And while we got a deal, we will continue to return even after the groupon no longer exists.

This bistro aspires to be great with it's sophisticated menu, but fails in the execution. Overall, it's a pretty decent value for this area, in that it's menu is not over priced relative to Destin. However, better breaks can be had in Niceville for the same price. I've only tried two entrées, but both fell flat (curry chicken and teriyaki tuna steak), and I have little reason to return with so many better options around.

Excellent overall. Ceviche app was fresh and very good. Ditto for chicken entre w green beans. Service was prompt. I liked the ambiance and the bathroom was clean. And Exc value for the price.

Excellent! Went there with 4 coworkers for lunch. We all got a different dish and shared all plates. Every dish was wonderful. Spinach Salad, Mac and Cheese, Chicken Pasta, Basil Panini, Burger, and Soup of the Day. Great service and prompt with the plates. Try it-you won't be disappointed.

Great restaurant - the service was amazing, food was delicious, atmosphere was great. I enjoyed getting there and the server sitting us so we don't stand but letting us know that there are a couple tables ahead of us that he has to get to. The chef/owner, Dan, came and greeted us and took care of drinks. The appetizers were delicious - including Fried Green Tomatoes (got them because of the reviews and they did measure up). I had the Shrimp and Grits which I was at first skeptical but they were great. I would definitely go back if I was in Destin or Niceville or Fort Walton Beach area.....

First visit today and I will definitely go back. Food and service were good, my boyfriend and I enjoyed our meals. I had a Mediterranean Pasta, he the Fish Tacos (mahi) and we shared the Fried Green Tomato appetizer. Serving size was quite large for lunch...while it was all good, I really wanted it to be spectacular. I'm going to go again soon, maybe Sunday Brunch. I'll let you know how it goes.

Oh how yum! The food was exceptional - fresh and very creative. We had the coffee crusted sirloin with mushrooms and the tuna on cucumber salad (a delicious combination of sweet, sour and spicy). Our waitress Kassady (I think) was very knowledgeable and attentive. It was no problem to switch out some sides. Chef Don came and chatted with us. The food portions were perfect - just where you want to stop because you are full, but can't because it is that good. We can't wait to get back!

We had an excellent meal with equally exceptional service. Everyone was so friendly, and the food was amazing. As someone who isn't a fan of any seafood other than shrimp, the tuna poke was absolutely to die for. I wish we had a place like this in Dallas, Texas. It was certainly great food and great service. A huge thanks to our server who guided us through all of our selections and kept our drinks full! Simply put - the best meal we had while in Florida.

Thus far I've only dined here for lunch but I'm a fan. The service was always quick enough, friendly, and I always love when the staff is actually knowledgeable about the menu. Everything I've had here has always been fresh, tasty and attractively presented. I really enjoy their potato salad, which is sour cream-based. Looking forward to trying dinner here.

The shrimp and grits are amazing and they give everyone fries to start off their meal. The ambiance is romantic and this is by far one of my favorites restaurants!!

One of the best restaurants to eat at in Niceville. There isn't a lot to choose from the menu, but I would choose anything on the menu any day. I tried the grilled chicken with braised collard greens and I was very pleased with my meal. It is a little pricey here but it is worth every penny! The place isn't large either so if you're looking for a nice quiet place to enjoy a delicious dinner for two or with your entire family this is "hands-down" the best place to try out.

Wow! This place is amazing! I came here on a date with my girlfriend, just to check it out. We didn't have a reservation, so we waited about 20 minutes. It was totally worth the wait! We started with some fried green tomatoes (which I highly recommend!) and their tomato sauce is to die for. Mmm! Girlfriend had the catch of the day, which was Mahi Mahi that night, and it was one of the best I've had in the area. I had the fillet, cooked just how I wanted it, and the vegetables of the day were great! Good selection of beer and wine, and a great atmosphere. If you haven't been here yet I recommend you go! You will not be disappointed. I am definitely coming back.

Menu speaks louder than food. We went to One20 for dinner. They had a new appetizer for the season which the waiter explained to be like "bang bang shrimp." We decided to give it a go (we've had good experiences with Bone Fish's bang bang shrimp) and received a fried shrimp salad: literally fried baby shrimps in a bed of lettuce with their patented mayonnaise sauce and what tasted like buffalo sauce. Not sweet and tangy like bang bang, not finger lickin delicious, not even close. The pasta dish was soso. Too many olives drowned the flavor of the dish, it was overpowering with both the olive flavor and wine. Seemed like it could have been cooked for a longer period of time. We also tried the fish special which wasn't bad. The fish was cooked well however, without the gravy it had NO taste whatsoever. The mashed potatoes were probably the highlight of the dish, sad to say. The atmosphere was cute and comforting. The waiter was friendly at first but after we told him we didn't like the appetizer, he backed away and didn't really engage us for the remainder of the night. Go here if you want a night out to a restaurant where you can socialize with friends but if we're talking about the food, go somewhere else.

This restaurant offers Niceville and the Okaloosa County area residents a wonderful menu choices and excellent food, absolutely outstanding service, operated by one of the most kind and civic-minded young restaurant owners I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Most customers don't get a chance to see how Dan Pettis supports local charities and other local citizens, such as those who sell their goods at the Farmer's Market Dan allows to operate out of his parking lot many weekends. As someone who has witnessed it numerous times, let me tell you that Dan is exactly the kind of businessman most people wish they had in their area. I grew up in a family that operated a restaurant, and I understand the kind of hours a restaurant owner has to dedicate to growing a successful business and establishing a reputation for excellence. And I know that much of that effort happens when customers aren't even in the building. To see Dan going beyond those 80-hour work weeks to voluntarily help some of the local charities he supports, and the farmer's market he provides to the community, really sets the One20 apart from many other restaurants in my mind. Beyond all the wonderful food and service One20 provides his customers, Dan Pettis is making Niceville a better place to live, and helping many local citizens in a ways that few people ever get to see. And even though Dan wouldn't know my name if he saw me on the street, I want those who walk in the One20 to know that it's a special restaurant for more than just the wonderful food, drinks, and service. The menu choices are wonderful. But the menu isn't extensive. Some people might see that as a "negative." But as someone who spent many years working in restaurants I know that an extensive menu means the restaurant has to have a lot of food on hand. The more food the restaurant has to keep on hand the more they end up throwing away because it gets old before you can use it. Wasted food increases the cost to the restaurant, which forces them to increase their prices. By offering a nice selection of choices without putting dozens and dozens of dishes on the menu, the One20 ensures that the food you're served is as fresh as possible, and as inexpensive as they can offer it. This is the kind of smart thinking I look for in a restaurant. And, if you look around at many of the other top restaurants in the area...Mitchell's, Cuvee Bistro, Tradewinds, Ruth's...you'll find that their chefs do the very same thing. Update: Chef Dan Pettis named winner of the "Best of the Emerald Coast" award, 3 consecutive years.

Nida's International Cuisine specializes in Thai dishes. I always order from the Thai menu when I go here, because I know it's going to be phenomenal. Pad Pak and Pad Thai are both delicious, as are the spring rolls and sauce you can get as an appetizer. The egg drop soup is also good, if not a little too sweet. Beer and wine are also served, and the menu is very reasonably priced.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
