I love this place :) great, good-sized wings. The only thing I didn't like was that I couldn't split 24 wings in increments of 6 :/ Reason being because it's easier on the kitchen? So only two sauces :( Other than that, this place has a great atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. We will definitely be returning! :)

Yum!!!! First trip to Navarre. Good burgers and fried appetizers. Menu is a little different than the one posted online.

Crazy story that culminated in me being in a craigslist rideshare car that dropped me off in Navarre. I needed a place to sit for a while until my friend can pick me up and the rideshare folks got excited about KCCO beer that they saw advertised outside. They go in, and of course the restaurant is out of stock. I got two glasses of wine while waiting for about an hour and half. They purportedly had wifi but it didn't work so I was stuck there alternating between staring at the patterns on the ceiling and staring at other patrons. That's when I think I went a lil out of my mind and threw away my credit card (by accident). The last charge was from this place and I do remember getting rid of a card there that I thought was my hotel room key but I guess wasn't. The servers were very pushy with me and it was kind of awkward. I felt bad having to wait there but I felt they were watching my wine glass like a hawk. Definitely don't plan on being back and hope that my encounters with clist rideshare will be limited as well.

Ok.........If they serve mac-n-cheese in Heaven this is the recipe! Unbeatable! And the cheeseburger with fried pickles, fried eggs, and bacon may cut 5 days off the end of my life......but it was worth it! THE SERVICE WAS IMPECCABLE!

  • John E.

OMG...i never even thought of mac n cheese burger but i cant wait to go back as my kid had the hot wings and my oh my were they delicious!! The wait staff were extremely friendly and attentive which made our party of 19 very happy!! I will be returning post haste and going to try the guac burger next...way to go!!

This place was great! Me and my husband split the guacamole burger and added a fried egg to it. Yummy! The fries were crunchy to perfection! And bottomless! One bad thing was the fried pickles, but I didn't rate them any less because it's a personal preference. They were too salty for us. We also ordered the cookie dessert. It comes in a skillet with ice cream and chocolate syrup on top. I'm drooling just thinking about it! I will come here again if I'm in the area!

My family's favorite burger. We've lived here since 2001 and haven't found a better hamburger in the area since trying Huston's

This restaurant is so poorly managed... No professional management whatsoever; this alone ruins the "good food" atmosphere for me. My friends, family, and I will NEVER support them by eating there again!

I was in the mood for a burger, saw the great reviews and decided to stop. Our service was awful. The place was not packed, but had a few other occupied tables. It is a little dreary inside and we opted to sit outside. The pace and serving time for the food was irritating. We ordered my daughters burger first with hopes of it coming out quickly. It took a while to come out and fries were "warm", which led me to believe it may have been ready, but sitting. It was actually delivered by another server. I have no idea where our server was for most of our visit. The food was decent, but of course overpriced and not worth the wait in between us waiting for our server to return to our table. My husband ordered the pasta and meatballs. The sauce was a little sweet for him, but the meatballs were good. It was a nice portion size. I ordered the chili cheeseburger. I liked the sweet bun, but otherwise it was just okay. Grilled onions and a sharper cheddar would have made this burger so much better. Fries were hot and crispy. We were always searching for our server. The finishing touch was waiting forever for him to cash out the ticket. On my way to the restroom, I saw him "hanging out" with another server at the bar. After sitting for several more minutes when we returned from the restroom, my husband decided to just take the ticket to him and I waked to the car. Too many options people. When you are more expensive than the competition, you need to get your customer service priorities in order! I will happily travel another mile or two to get better service down the street.

We are in Pensacola from TX for the weekend and found this place on Yelp. The menu looked good so we decided to give it a try. We were seated immediately after walking in. The waitress was polite and patient while answering all our questions. I settled on a regular ole burger and my wife basically ordered a western burger with the bbq sauce and onion rings on the side. She wanted a bacon cheeseburger and the waitress suggested the changes so she could get what she wanted. The burgers were juicy. The fries were good. The pickles were big and thick! I ordered a margarita and it was pretty good! There were people steadily coming in and they were all being seated quickly. Even while busy, neither our food nor our service suffered. We're putting this on the "must eat" list when we come back here!

Always great staff - thought the sign in front sporting a certain draft beer would be like a special ---- nope $5 for a regular draft?! Chicken tacos $11 were good and it came with some nice gumbo

The first time my husband and I tried this place we were a little skeptical. The traffic that we saw in the business's parking lot told us we should check it out. The servers are all very friendly and attentive. The food is really good. I fell for their cajun burger and sliders. I love that they also serve sweet potato fries. Just thinking about their food makes me salivate. I also love their southwestern egg rolls. Overall, this place gets two thumbs up from me.

We went here to find something diffrent than the normal tourist spots in Navarre. We were not disappointed. The service was awesome. They had a great selection of beers. The kids menus were affordable and were very big for a kids meal. Both my boys had the small burger meal and they were as big as a regular burger. They were fully dressed and had fried pickles instead of regular. I had the pimento cheese burger and my wife had the Huston's Hangover which had a fried egg and chorizo on the burger. The best part was the sauce that came with the fries had an awesome jalapeno flavor to it. All the burgers were juicy and cook to a perfect medium well. This place is going on our restaurants to eat at when we visit Navarre Beach. Go and eat there you will not be disappointed!!!

We've lived in the area for 17 years and have never been here. Came with our four young children and mother. This place was great! Lots of good choices! Clean! Family friendly! GREAT 80's music!!!!! The servers are all home grown, lovely and pleasantly attentive. Fun atmosphere! Tried lots of different things and enjoyed everything! :0)

Well above average sports-bar food. Pretty good fish tacos. In and around Navaree the options are somewhat limited. You have to go to Destin where you can expect better food but longer lines, but you still should go to Destin for the HarborWalk Village.

  • Amy Z.

Had the chicken and waffles. The chicken fingers were very fresh and we'll seasoned. The waffle was good, but not as warm as I would have hoped. Came with mango habanero syrup that I was a little skeptical of, but it was delicious. All for only $7!

I really like JH. I've gone 3 times so far and their food has been consistently great. I'd recommend the artichoke/spinach burger. Unbeatable. The layout of the place is inconvenient and odd. Patrons and wait staff are forced to squeeze through the restaurant to get from one side to the other. My only complaint would be that they refuse to cook burgers to medium. I understand it's for safety, so I don't complain... But I true burger should be cooked with a little pink in the center. Overall, great place and I plan to be a regular customer.

Great place, great service. This place is a "Sports Bar" so if you dine in the evening, expect enthusiastic fans. We visited in the mid afternoon and found Johnny Houston's to be very nice. The service was great... Thanks Mac. Food was very good. After reading some of the other reviews, I was a little skeptical, but having actually experiencing this dining pleasure, I'm thoroughly convinced you just can't please some people. Worth the trip and we would definitely return. Thanks for a great dining experience.

  • Misty S.

As far as food goes this place is great! However the young staff and lack of knowledge was a disappointment! A young lady brought out cheese dip that was literally boiling with a sleeve in the handle and I burnt my hand because it was so hot it melted the cloth handle and all I was given was some ice and there was no incident filed or reported to management

  • Eric G.

We thought we would check this place out because of the reviews but boy we were wrong. The atmosphere was odd and un inviting . I ordered the turkey burger special and it was barely cooked and horrible! The veggies came straight from the frozen bagged section at the grocery store. To top it off the service was bad. Don't go. Way too many other great places locally.

  • Joe H.

Decent burgers, but overpriced. I love the trick about "endless fries" with your burger. Which means they put about 8 fries in your basket. Then the waitress disappears while you eat your burger and by the time she comes back, no way in hell are you gonna request more fries. You want fries WITH the burger, not after the burger for dessert... The atmosphere in here is loud as hell and a sensory overload. TVs everywhere, and the sound is up on each tv, and noise is echoing everywhere. It is a pretty good place to get a first hand view of goofy ass SEC football fans, specifically Alabama, Auburn, and Florida. Saw a cool Bama fan that had a permed mullet smugly cheering on his team. If you want an $11 burger while you watch football, this is the place to go though...

I'm a fan of their unusual oysters! myh fave is the jalapeno and mozzarella oysters! wine is ok, beer is ok, love the crazy burgers!

Food was great. Fresh bun, real home made burger. The place is super ran. The staff is very friendly. The full bar is great for this area. I'll be coming back often!

Great wings at great prices. The whole menu has been delicious and the staff is quick and polite for the most part. I like the atmosphere... But ya those wings, let me just say... HOT DAMN! Love it.

Decent bar food. Went for lunch and it was great. Went for dinner it was OK. Would probably go back though since good places are hard to find in this area.

  • Brian D.

This is a great burger joint. But they have a lot of other equally delicious things on the menu. I have been here twice and each time the service was top notch. The burgers are really good and the topping options will take you out of your normal burger rut. They offer bottomless fries and even a gluten free bun option. The hotdogs are amazing as well. Fun and clean atmosphere, very easy on the wallet. I highly recommend this establishment.

Really was excited to check this place out. Heard there were some great burgers. Too bad parking sucked ass. I guess there is parking out back but who would ever know? There is. Huge section in the middle of the lot. It could easily hold two maybe even four more cars. I really want to know what I was blocking that I had to move. If I was honestly blocking someone anyone I get it but there was plenty of room for all. It really is the principle in this. If there was a sign saying there was parking in the back I would have went. And so would the person in front of us ( who accidently blocked the back). Any we left. Couldnt park in the front and couldn't park in the back. Do you want business or what?

When I told my husband what I thought about this place, he said I was being too critical. I love the feel of Johnny Houston's, and walking in I thought that I would be very happy person walking out. Our appetizers came in and my baked, artichoke and spinach oysters were delicious, just like my husband's spicy shrimp. When we got our burgers they looked very appetizing. But once I bit into it, the meat wasn't exactly fresh and it really spoiled my appetite. I do have to complement home made fries and gumbo. The fries probably could have had just plain salt on them instead of the house blend but that's really minor to me, I'm not a big fan of season salt on my fries so I will have to remember to ask for my fries to be plain the next time. Yes, we are planning to come back cause I'm not ready to completely cross this place out. I'm hoping it was just one time hick up.

Long long wait for the food. Not so good. If you have very low expectations, you'll love it. The south of the border appetizer was good.

We have eaten in and also taken food to go. Burgers are good and made consistently the same. The shrimp po boys are sometimes very good and sometimes not. They seem to have trouble preparing some of the food consistently the same way each time with the same quality ingredients.

Great food! Chorizo tacos and really yummy BIG hamburgs. Parking is sparse but they are making a new parking lot next to them. Relaxed atmosphere. Good service.

Five stars all the way. Got in at 6pm on Tuesday night with no problem. The burgers were huge and perfectly done. Fried pickles, yum. Outstanding service. Endless fries. We will definitely be back. Good for kids.

This was my second visit to Johnny Huston's, and I was thoroughly unimpressed with our server and the owner. The place was completely understaffed for Saturday afternoon. The hostess was pulling double duty by trying to manage the front door as well as bussing all of the tables...which caused a massive seating pileup at the front door. We waited 15 minutes to be seated. Our server took our order, and we never saw her again...until she brought our food. She forgot to put in our appetizer order; therefore, it came out with the meal. I ordered the southwest salad..according to the menu, it was supposed to come with tortilla chips, salsa and chicken tossed in their baja dressing...the The few tortilla chips were crumbled, there was no salsa, and it came with sour cream and guacamole..and no salad dressing. The menu made no mention of guacamole and sour cream. After our server delivered our food we never saw her again. Since we waited so long to be seated and to get our food, I ate the "wrong salad" because I knew it would take another hour to locate our brain surgeon and get the correct meal. I had to locate the hostess to ask her to send over a manager and our server. Apparently the "manager" was the owner, and he was EXTREMELY rude and dismissive. His excuse was The items on the menu were incorrect, and he was having new menus printed but failed to tell the servers or the customers. He made excuses for the server as well claiming she was "new." He rudely asked what I would like him to do about the salad and our lack of service. By this point I was so frustrated with our lack of service and the owner's treatment, I told him to forget about it and we would never be back again. He left to find our server to bring us our check (he couldn't even locate her!) When they both returned, his attitude had mildly changed to something resembling human decency...he "graciously" Took off half of our bill, and I "graciously" left her 10%. It will be a long time before I'm visit this place again!!

I LOVE this place. My family eats here at least 3 times a month and once a month at work we call it in. They have the BEST burgers ever! The other food there is great also....but I go for the burgers every time. The buns are the best... I always get the Spinach and Artichoke burger. Its my favorite but all are really good. I wish they would have kept the fried green beans they were sooo good...the fried mushrooms are always good. We have always had great service with the exception of last night. The waitress we had was rude and gave attitude all night. We had to ask other servers for things we needed. She is the reason for only giving 4 star. She will not be our server next time.

I've been coming here for several years. Every time I visit I notice the prices keep getting raised. 15 bucks for a burger is ridiculous!! They need to lower their prices. The food is good if you don't mind giving up your first born child or taking out a second mortgage!

GET YOUR PIMENTO ON! Great burger joint placed in west Navarre. Friendly and accommodating staff. Burgers are made with 1/2 sirloin & 1/2 chuck so the fat melts through to proved the burger with flavor and moistness. I tried what I thought was an odd pick, the Pimento Cheese & Bacon Burger. Wow, this burger was sooooo good and tasty. So glad I tried it. Fries were good as well. So, when your traveling through northwest Florida or if your a military guy/gal stationed at Hurlburt or Eglin this is a burger joint to add to navigation. Get you pimento on people!

  • Dexter M.

The service was superb. Our server was polite, and very informative about local happenings. She made great recommendations about the burgers. The burgers were among the best I ever had, however if you don't like spicy then don't ask for pepper jack cheese. It packs a lot of heat and your face will be on fire. The toasted ravioli were ok also.

  • Susan B.

I had bangin shrimp salad. Very flavorable. Husband had fish tacos-unusual for him, but he said they were very good. Seven year old wanted pizza..but we talked him into the pizza grilled cheese. He enjoyed that. We also had grey goose martinis. Not all places get those right. They did! Fun conversation with waitress. She was friendly and attentive. Liked the atmosphere as well. Overall great place to go after a day at the beach.

I have been going to Johnny Houston's for over two years now since I have moved to Navarre. When we first started coming here we were incredibly happy with the food, prices, and service. Over the past year their prices have been rising from high to just unreasonable. It seems as if everytime we go they raise their prices on every item by one or two dollars. I feel that $14 for a hamburger is just ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, all of their food is excellent. Their hamburgers are some of the best my wife and I have ever had. They just really need to reign in the prices.

Best burgers ever! Food and prices ate great. I love the decor. I only deduct a star because it is really noisy.

The burgers are outstanding. The fresh cut fries are bottomless with the burgers. Best fries we have ever had. Way better than Five Guys!!! (Burger is, too!) The service wasn't great but that wasn't surprising. The food is what makes it well worth returning.

Been here so many times this past year. It's close to home. Great atmosphere! Outdoor or indoor seating. Bar! I've had a few differ burgers all good and large, homemade fries luv, all taco choices are real good, meatball sandwich son's fav, blt mmmm, club sandwich, chicken sandwich, salads, I have not had the hot dogs but my family members loved to come here when they visit just for the "dogs"! O and talk to turtle at the bar!

I don't know what the negativity is all about?!?! While I realize this is the redneck riviera, you're on vacation!! Spend a couple bucks and enjoy the stay. The 50/50 burger was a homerun. Bun was stupid-good and the beers were cold. Turtle behind the bar was friendly but he runs that show like a dictator. Not my problem. The food was good, the drinks were great, and the staff was friendly.

Went Back for nice surprise. I went a few times the first 6 months they opened and it was good - but like most places in navarre it went down hill fast as far as food and service. So i didnt go for over a year. Went back with a friend and I was pleasantly surprised the food AND service was much better. Hopefully it will not slip standards again and i can add to my "go to " list. Seems to also make their Fries fresh cut - was very good

The burgers! That is why my husband and I stop here for lunch or dinner. Absolutely the best burgers around. I can't complain about the price because it is obvious they are quality 10 oz patties and hand-made. My husband always gets the Guacamole Burger. I have had the Bunless Burger, Spinach Artichoke and Queso Burger, and BLT - no complaints. We love the sweet potato fries with sauce. This is not a cafe that caters to vegetarians - simply a sports grill and bar with awesome (and appropriate) food.

Cute atmosphere. I've been there twice and have gotten the pig in the garden salad. It's so delicious! And huge - I always take half home. Service is friendly and attentive, even when it's very crowded (which seems like always, but that's a good thing!!) my boyfriend gets one of the burgers- I think the half burger or something? Half beef and half pork- and he loves it. The fries are very good and you get free refills. Haven't tried the wings yet, but they always smell amazing.

The bartender actually remembers your name and treats you like a human being. This is important to me. Laid back atmosphere with a patio eating area. Food was great and came out fast. Great selection on food and beverages with a fair price. All around good time.

Food was overpriced for portions we were served and quality. And service was deplorable! Waiter looked like he was still in high school or barely out as did 90% of the staff. And he repeated everything like 4 times. My date ordered Double Crown & Coke, what he always drinks, and he had 2 drinks. He questioned the first drink and even asked me to take a sip, said it tasted like maybe bartender had used diet or maybe their ice/water had a bad taste. He didn't complain, but after the food came and was a disappointment and his second drink still tasted "funny", we just asked for the Check. Our jaws dropped at the $60 ticket, which included $38 for the 2 drinks. Questioned the waiter and he said it was because they were doubles and the Crown "Select" or "Black", which was not what my date ordered and why the drinks tasted off to him. We insisted that the ticket be corrected, since that was not what we ordered. Waited said, "Sorry I can't do that." So we asked to speak to a manager. It would have been one thing if that was what we ordered, but we didn't and even reminded the waiter that he even read the order back to us excessively. --- Manager was even worse!!! Said we should have complained sooner and not drank the drinks. Which 3/4 of the second drink was still on the table since my date couldn't stomach it. He didn't care, demanded that we pay our ticket and go elsewhere if we didn't like the prices. We were appalled! Would have gladly paid for what we ordered and some halfway decent food and service! Will never go back!

I am so excited to find a place that serves quality gluten free meals! This was such a pleasant surprise! I had a burger with gf bun and the sweet fries.

Have been here a couple of times and I really like the food. I had the boiled crawfish and they were cooked just right and had just the right amount of seasoning. Not too spicy. Also, love the fries that they have. The price is a little much for the amount of food that you get, the atmosphere makes up for it. A nice place to eat and watch some tv with your family. Had the grill cheese sandwich and it was really good.

Amazing food - unsurpassed service! The Pasta New Orleans is an incredible seafood dish. Their burgers are the best in the area.

I go to Johnny Houston's mainly due to the proximity to my house. The food quality, presentation, quantity and service has continued to go down south the past year my husband and I been dining there. Our most recent visit, we had table of 3. I ordered the blackened fish tacos. The tacos were below desirable because they had put a ton of cole slaw on the tacos. Since when do tacos get cole slaw? I know of a bit of cabbage to compliment fish tacos, but cole slaw? Literally the whole taco was mostly cole slaw and very little fish, where was the cheese? Is cheese too much to ask to put on a taco? My friend ordered the philly cheese steak sandwich. The sandwich had no grilled onions, peppers or mushrooms, just meat and American cheese. I thought philly cheese steak sandwiches came with provolone. We ordered a few rounds of beer. One of the beer serviced tasted pretty bad, we asked to exchange it, but we were told they had to charge us to change the beer. The spinach and artichoke dip went down hill. It used to be cheesy. I'm not sure what happened but it almost tasted like the spinach came from the can, very little artichoke, and again where was the cheese? My unsweetened tea was never offered a re-fill until we were getting up to leave.....We'll have a better time if we dine else where.

Great burgers and wings. Good specials. And great place to watch football. Some of their appetizers are bland and I really didn't like that I got stuck in their back parking lot but its good to see their getting the business!! I would def go their for the burgers tho. Best I've had around here!

I have joined Dena in her quest to discover the best fish tacos in the area - and completely neglected to order them... Cuz I just had to order the spicy shrimp tacos instead. Why order healthy grilled fish tacos when you can have fried shrimp smothered in bang bang sauce, jalapenos and cabbage. Maybe it was coleslaw but the taco was so spicy, I couldn't really tell. After three generously stuffed tortillas, I was wishing there was a fourth. Guess I'll have to go back.

Very friendly atmosphere, lots of TVs for watching your team play. Sundays during football season are packed, lively, and competative but remain fun and friendly. I'll be back for sure

Good place for lunch. I really like their hamburgers. Seafood has been less than stellar lately.

Fish tacos and burgers are the main options here. Prices are good and very small town feel.

Yes... I went to Johnny Houston's last week to try the fish tacos, and I have to say that I agree with Marisa F. The mound of sweet cole slaw on my tacos was not good. I tried to scrape most of it off just to make them edible. I did, however, enjoy the black beans and rice I ordered as a side. If you're a wine drinker, be aware that they only have one brand of each variety of wine, and it's not on their happy hour.

Huge menu! Burger was divine and Chicken Sausage and Rice dish was devoured in 5 seconds! Restaurant is loud with the music and outside seating gets road noise. Good sports coverage on the TVs though. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

We were looking for somewhere to eat after 9pm in Navarre and the choices are few. I went to Yelp and saw Johnny Huston's closed at 10pm so we hurried to get there and to our surprise they are actually open until 11pm and Friday & Saturday until midnight. I read a lot of the reviews and most talked about how great their burgers are so why not give it a try? Although it seems small it really isn't for Navarre standards, they have a full bar and a covered patio, so really more space than you think. We were greeted by a friendly and attentive. Unfortunately they do not have turkey burgers but the menu is extensive. My dining companion had the 50/50 burger which she loved it it was ground chuck and smoked pulled pork cooked together. It looked delicious. I had the Fish BLT&A (fish, bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado) I would have never thought to add a catfish filet to a BLT but I'm happy they did it was delicious. Crispy catfish, salty bacon, juicy tomatoes and who doesn't like avocados? If we woulf have had time for another visit I would have gotten this sandwich again. If you're in Navarre this is a must go-to restaurant. I'm going there again the next time I'm in Navarre.

We were meeting up with family on our way through town and they suggested Johnny Huston's. We had a great time! Fun atmosphere, friendly service, good food, plenty of TVs for March Madness the day we were there. We took advantage of the beer special and wine list. All of the burgers were great - can't go wrong with avocado and bacon :) Bottomless fries - maybe because you can always ask for more, the portion that came with the burger was smaller than expected, which ended up being the perfect amount. I'd definitely stop by again if I were in the area. And if I were a local I'd be a regular. Thumbs up!
