Really.....bad. Gumbo was not good at all and they did not have any rice. Are you kidding me? Blacked fish was overcooked and they were out of marinated mullet. Won't be returning!!

The Service was great. The food was not bad but not great the spicy tuna dip was awesome the grouper could off been fried a little more to be crispy not soggy. Over all it was not bad because they had 2 dollar PBR's.

What a charming hole. Looks like something out of the Popeye movie. I actually think the food is quite good. The menu is a little lacking but what they have is good. The blue crab fingers are great and the boom boom shrimp is a perfect knock off of the bang bang shrimp at Bonefish. Grouper is good and I like the fried oyster Po Boy. Hush Puppies are quite tasty as is the Cole Slaw. I was told that the tartar sauce is homemade and it has to be the best tartar sauce I have ever tasted. All that said this place is a little pricey in my view. Fish House or Grand Marlin it is not.

I wouldn't say it's the best seafood place I've been to, but that doesn't mean it's not pretty good. I did like their coleslaw which is a big test for me with seafood places. Their hushpuppies could be better. More like fried pepper bread with chunks of onion. Their fried foods aren't greasy and definitely had flavor. I could taste the food item and not just the batter. Did not like their baked beans. It just felt like I was shoving BBQ sauce in my mouth. Had their key lime pie. Ate every bit of that. The waitress was nice and attentive. Not bad service.

We usually love to go to Chet's, which is well known for their mullet. We were seated and got our drinks and went to order mullet when we were told they were out of mullet. There wasn't a sign posted nor were we told beforehand. On top of this, I am a disabled person and the hostess had put our menus down and was headed back to the cash register before I could see which table she had seated us at.

my new favorite seafood place. This place rocks. Great oysters, mullet, etc etc. Whenever I am in PCola I am definitely going to be at Chet's. Locally sourced and owned they know how to do it right. Great variety in a very casual environment.

I enjoyed this place, I have family in Pensacola and after going to Peg Leg Petes every time, they took me here. Went for Dinner around 5:00 PM., we were seated right away and the service was great. This place had by far the best crab claws I have ever had. I had the fried grouper and grits which was pretty good but not great.

I really like the gumbo and the fried green tomatoes with shrimp topping! My nephew is 6 and had a grilled cheese sandwich, it looked so good! We've never had a bad meal here! The place gets busy and they started this ridiculous rule, they won't seat you unless your entire party is present! Last time we came there the place was empty and they would not allow my husband and I to sit down and have a drink while waiting for 2 more people. We had to sit by the door and wait until they arrived 10 min later to get a table for four. I get the rule when it's a busy night, but with half of the tables empty it felt inhospitable and awkward... I saw other reviews where people have encountered the same frustrations with the seating policy.

Would rate no stars if I could! My family and I have eaten here many times and usually love it there but, after today my family will NEVER come back! They have changed everything! A rule is now, according to the door girl, that your whole party has to be there in order to be seated no matter how small! Even if you just need ONE table and the restaurant is almost empty...NOPE! Must wait! To top it off their prices for lunch are crazy expensive now! Our family of five had to pay a $99 tab for LUNCH! You're a freaking fish house not The Grand Marlin! Will NEVER BE back! Ever! Not to mention everyone working there knew I was highly upset and not once did a manager have the "you know what" to show their face!

The service here was great! Our waitress was attentive and had a great sense of humor. But the food... just okay. I knew that everything was going to be fried. Or blackened. We just had to try the mullet backbones as an appetizer. Obviously someone with some business sense decided it was silly to waste the useless part of the mullet- why not fry it up and sell it? I thought they were kinda gross. Hubby and my dad thought it was amusing to eat them. The salads were very simple and the salad dressing came in pre-packaged cups. I had the fried mullet fingers. There was a ton of fish on my plate and plenty of sauces to smother them in. They were pretty good. Hubby had the blackened grouper. I think it would have been much better if it hadn't been dripping in butter. If you are looking for a traditional southern fried seafood place, this definitely fits the bill! But I think hubby and I like tasting the fish a bit more than the toppings, so I doubt we'll be back anytime soon.

Good southern seafood. Had the Mullet with grits and coleslaw and a cup of gumbo. Also had the boom boom shrimp for an appetizer. The fish was not salty at all which is often the norm for batter fried fish and was very good. The grits were flavorful and the coleslaw was good as well. The shrimp appetizer had good flavor but for those who don't like their seafood drenched in sauce may not like it. I Would definitely recommend and also will go again.

Face it. If you are near by Chet's, you're in the deep south. Warm and charming. This place puts the fanciest seafood restaurants in San Francisco and NYC to shame. The locals flock here for lunch from all around for one thing and one thing only. Fried Mullet. Not the hair cut, the local bottom feeding fish which is white and tender and flaky and tasty. Chet's uses a batter made from corn meal and fries in fresh hot peanut oil. It's amazing. Get some hush puppies and a sweet tea to go with your lunch. Be warned, you need to get there by 11:45am as they usually run out of fried mullet by 12:10pm.
