This was my first attempt with Mexican food here in Milton. I enjoyed my visit here, but I was a little let down by the food. Don't get me wrong, the food tasted good. It just wasn't the Mexican food I was hoping for. I guess you can say it is more American-Mexican food than anything. In which in that case, I could easily have made this at home in my kitchen. I grew up on Tex-Mex, lived in Cali for 3 years eating great Mexican food, and I've been to Mexico a few times so I feel like I know what REALLY good Mexican food tastes like. This was just okay Mexican food. I'm sure I will be back again and I will try one of their specialty items. Other than that, service was excellent. The waitresses were very attentive and friendly. The place was very clean inside with a few TVs throughout the dining area. And the margaritas are HUGE and actually pretty good as well.

Decided to try Margaritas after Blackwater Bistro was jammed to the gills. It was a little slow in the restaurant but the wait staff was good and courteous. Margaritas were two for one, so that's always a bonus. I ordered the Carne Asada and Margaritas, which is the only meal I am capable of ordering at a Mexican restaurant. The margaritas, which were their top shelf margaritas, were just okay. Not sure if they had any alcohol in them. They ended up being $11 for the two margaritas and they weren't really worth it. The carne asada was just okay as well. I've had better. It was a little grisly and just didn't have a very distinctive flavor. Ended up paying over $30 for the entire meal and it just didn't feel like a $30 meal. It felt like an okay $18 meal. Probably won't go back.

Best Mexican food in Milton/Pace. We have eaten there several times and always enjoy the food. Well prepared with quality ingredients. Service on the other hand is hit or miss. You will be in for a somewhat bizarre experience if Jesus is your server. His social skills are lacking, making his interactions very awkward. Sometimes he trys to be funny, but his sense of humor is just as awkward. He will stand at your table when you're close to finishing, watching you eat with a creepy look. He wants to take your plate while he is there so he doesn't have to come back for a while. We have told him several times to stop creeping and let us finish. The rest of the servers are fine. The food more than makes up for the varying service.

Just opened yesterday. A nice, tasty addition to the choices in Milton and its environs. The location kind of sucks if you want to leave and head north on the Bypass, since you can only go south with no possibility of a u-turn. The building itself doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is very nicely decorated and clean on the inside. Comfortable booths, a 10-seat bar with a couple of flat screens mounted above the back bar to follow the games, and you won't feel cramped. The only criticism about the facility that I can muster is that the bathrooms need renovation and work. Hot chips, fresh salsa, and black bean dip will greet you at your table. Inside baseball info: If you like hot stuff--really hot stuff--ask for the hot salsa. They don't offer it otherwise. It is made with habaneros and is delicious, but very hot. I love hot stuff, but after four chip dips, rivulets of sweat were rolling down my face. I loved it, although I only discovered that wondrous stuff after I had eaten my meal. It was the hottest thing that I had ever had in a Mexican restaurant, ever, anywhere. I got a combination platter off of the lunch menu today. Burrito, enchilada, tostado (I don't get the point of those things), and a taco for $6.50. The ground beef was spicier and tastier than LaHa. The enchilada sauce was chock-full of chilies, the burrito sauce was loaded with onions (which I do not enjoy at all, but if you do, get some). The guacamole was tangy and fresh, not that nasty frozen paste that some places sling. Half-price drinks all of the time. Long-neck Miller Lites end up costing $1.50, small 'ritas (real ones...not that weak, malt-based crap) would be $3. That's bonus! Flat-screen teevees viewable from where I was sitting. It was nice to watch the games and get my grub on. The menu is extensive and has some things that are unusual, for area Mexican joints. This isn't the same five ingredients combined into 7.381 mutations, like some places. I plan on trying all of them, except the fowl-based dishes, since I don't eat birds. Give it a go. The staff is friendly, or at least my guy was. Time will tell if service is somewhat uniform. I hope so. Four stars for now, although I would give it five stars, for being in Milton. I graduated high skrool here and have diminished expectations for gustatory and entertainment experiences. It's a character flaw, I suppose, but I cope with it.

We went on a Saturday afternoon, around 3pm. It was very slow, there were maybe three other families in the huge restaurant. Our waiter acted like he hated us and we were a huge inconvenience. Sorry we wanted utensils to eat with... and more salsa... since they only provide the world's smallest bowl for a basket of chips that is shared with multiple people. It wasn't until the end of the meal, after we got our check, that he showed some personality. Too late, he made the meal pretty uncomfortable. The bean appetizer was watery. Don't eat it if it's not hot! We didn't touch ours because we didn't want to get sick... it's happened before... bacteria grows if not held to temp... My husband got chicken fajitas and he liked them. My 4 year old daughter liked them, too. She loved the rice and ate two servings of it. Major points there. I got regular tacos and they were good. We probably won't return here unless we're in Milton and we're too hungry we can't wait to eat.

I would say this place is your typical local Mexican restaurant...Decent food, not much of an ambiance, and rockin' drink specials. Some could argue that La Hacienda, the other local Mexican restaurant has slightly better food, but they don't serve alcohol. Who goes out for Mexican and doesn't have a beer or margarita? Their Margaritas are 2 for 1 and the food is still delicious. We will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our dinner here! I had the mushroom quesadilla, and I was very impressed with the quality and freshness of the ingredients. The chips, the mushrooms, the salsa, and the guacamole all tasted really fresh and definitely homemade. If you're feeling brave, ask for the really spicy salsa! Delicious!!

Love this place. I've been four times already and it's convenient as hell and so nice to have a GOOD restaurant two miles away from you. I mean this is MILTON, and Milton SUCKS, especially when it comes to food. Texas Roadhouse has long been about the only thing guaranteed not to give you food poisoning, and even then, you're taking your chances, but this place, such a breath of fresh air. It's just opened and it's been a building that has opened and closed many times, but the people who have it now are doing good things. EAT HERE, I want this place to last! It's not crappy canned meat food like LaHa. The margaritas are amazing. I am a margarita snob and these are like scratch margaritas. Lime juice, triple sec, tequila, perfection, bam, awesome. I've had their Blue margarita too, which is blue curacao instead of triple sec, again, amazing. They don't skimp on the tequila and they use good stuff. ( Looking at you, Miller's Ale House for the WORST tequila known to mankind. ) It's worth going JUST for the margaritas. And also, two for one days, and the 'small' margarita is still a bucket. I've yet to have a large, I'm scared to, honestly. Oh, and the guacamole. I'm a snob about that, too. They could use a itsy bitsy more lime, but that's a personal thing, really. You know it's fresh when it takes a few minutes to come out instead of instant, and it's a nice vivid green, but not fake green and certainly not brown. Yum! Their black bean dip is really good too. I've had the pork carnitas, and they state on their menu it's their specialty. Oh my goodness, that stuff melts in your mouth, so perfectly tender and the sauce is divine. Yum! I had the mixed grill fajitas last time, again, very good. Huge portion, and not at all greasy like a lot of Mexican joints are. A lot of the food is very typical Mexican joint fare, but a lot more authentic, and authentically prepared. Service is excellent, your server is happy to engage and talk with you, make suggestions and if you want something a bit different (I'm not a big onion eater and I'm gluten intolerant, and my server was keen to get me corn tortillas and make sure the chef didn't put onions in the fajitas ) they're happy to work with you. Just an excellent place so far. Interior, it's a little rough, but it's clean, and you got to understand they're working with an old building and they've definitely have done the best they really can, and need the money flowing before they can make the place pretty! So, seriously, eat here, drink the margaritas, go home fat and happy!

The service is okay, the margaritas were decent but seemed weak, and the food was average to below average for a Mexican joint. I would make the drive across the bridge or into Pace for other options.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
