I hate tequila. Also, I am ridiculously allergic to avocado. Needless to say, this is not an ideal spot for me, but we were meeting someone there, so I was dragged against my will. EVERYTHING IS MADE with tequila. I had a Dos Equis (or two). And then I ordered the beef mole enchiladas which were like $400...more like $20+. There was two of them on the plate. And it came with ONE tiny side of rice for all three people seated on the table. Basically, the bill was $150 for three people. $50 to a person, with two beers. So essentially, I paid an INORDINATE amount of money for a damn enchilada, which was good, but not THAT good. Also, it was only lukewarm when it arrived at the table. I don't get the concept behind this glorified mexican food restaurant. They basically overcharge for something that you can pay LITERALLY $4 for, that comes out the back of a truck, and tastes 100x better. And why the hell is it Rosa MexicanO. Can someone explain this to me? I mean, rosa is feminine. Shouldn't it be Rosa MexicanA?!?! This has always pissed me off, dammit.

Had a lunch experience here and it wasn't the best. We were sat promptly, a table of three but after 15 minutes of no greeting, introduction, or water, I begged a waiter to be our server. He reluctantly said ok but found the waiter that failed to greet us or anything. He gave a lame apology saying that he didn't see us despite the many looks he gave me directly and walking by our table since its literally next to the register. He did comp us some fresh guac but 20 min later and just before our over priced food came out. The food was tasty but nothing worth the avg 16$ per plate.

Ambiance and decor are upscale. Location probably makes it a great bar. The food on the other hand is a disappointment. The only highlight was the fresh guacamole salsa dip made fresh at your table, but spending $10+ for 1 and a half smashed avocados with salsa and chips is a bit steep. The fish tacos and fajitas were a real disappointment. The fish tasted like frozen fish sticks. The marinated steak for the fajitas was OK but the dish did not come with any grilled vegetables to accompany it. The corn tortillas tasted store bought and heated in the microwave. Anyone who has experienced authentic Mexican or even Tex-Mex will be disappointed in the cuisine.

We meet with some friends from the Miami area while visiting here. The 6 of us went to Rosa Mexicano . The food and service were excellent. We would stop here again. You won't be disappointed. Love the frozen Margaret's. The area is loaded with things to do.

Great location in Mary Brickell. The waitress made fresh guacamole. The bartender made a great drink with cucumber and chilis. Highly recommended! This is not authentic Mexican food, but is good food.

I dined here for the first time last week Friday, while in transit from one party to the next. It was the perfect place to satisfy my late night craving for Mexican food while still keeping it classy. I had the fish tacos, and they were pretty damn good! I'm not sure what that corn sauce thingy is called, but it's sort of in a creamy mayo, and let me tell you, it ups the flavor of the tacos from a 6/10 to a solid 8/10! The fish was also perfectly crisp and seasoned. Will definitely be back !

As a lover of Mexican food, I must admit that Rosa Mexicano must be going for something different. And I'm not sure they hit the mark. I've been here about 3 times now... The first time was for my birthday, and I was so embarrassed when no one in my party enjoyed their entrees! That night I tried the guacamole, and it was awesome, but this last time I ordered it, it was meh. I would not return here for dinner. I will admit that for happy hour, you can't beat the prices.... A large pitcher of sangria for $14?? I would totally head back for that, plus the HH apps. The pomegranate margarita is super delicious too... This is definitely a happy hour place. Great location for people-watching and feeling all Miami. But go somewhere else for dinner!

This is a nice AmeriMex restaurant. Probably popular with the in-crowd, but the food is good but not Mexican spiced. Kind of plain with a very fancy name to make up for the plain

Who doesn't come here for guacamole and chips? Haha good place for that. Good meals people!

Yes, there are cheaper and better Mexican places in Miami especially in Homestead. But I still like Rosa, it has a good vibe and is great for happy hour after work.

I usually entertain 4-10 people at dinners here. In the last year, I have noticed far fewer people eating and drinking at this Rosa location. Tonight I sat at the empty bar to have a nice solo dinner. My drink came, and the bartender asked for my credit card. I told her I was having dinner. She said I had to pay for each drink and each course, or leave my card with her. Given two cases of fraud on my card in the past month, I was not about to leave my card with a stranger. The manager was useless and repeated his policy. If I sat down in the restaurant or outside, I could eat and pay at the end. No wonder the bar was empty. I left the restaurant and had a very nice meal at the bar of the Italian place next door, which allowed me to enjoy my meal at the crowded bar without a moronic pay as you go policy like Rosa.

Rosa Mexicano is an amazing restaurant experience. My friends and I were greeted by a very gracious host and although the restaurant was busy we were immediately seated, and our waiter came immediately to ask for our drink orders. The margaritas were better than any others we had recently and the guacamole was made at our table - to our request. The dinner menu is varied and there was something for everyone - from fish tacos, to a spectacular gourmet dinner, you can eat hearty or light. The flavors of all the food we ordered were well blended and succulent without being overly hot or spicy. The steak I ordered came cooked to perfection and was absolutely the best steak I have had in a restaurant in a very long time. My compliments to the chef! Everything about the evening was perfect, great ambiance, great service, amazing food and a very good value.

It's Mexican food in a really nice looking place. I have no problem with that. Order an enchilada while you enjoy a cascading waterwall next to your table. Enjoy house made guacamole big enough to share con la familia.

After a few questionable reviews here,we decided to proceed with our group of 12 for a pre cruise dinner.Almost everyone in the group was pleased w/food & drink. We arrived @630pm well before the `clubby` types stroll in. It was half empty and then filled as the dinner progressed.A highlight was the home-made in front of you Guac. Good margaritas and alot of food in total. It was about $100 per couple w/alchohol and tip included. As an `upscale` Mexican expect to pay more and get less than the local taco truck.Hosts friendly, waiter serviceable enough but I felt he under served us and he seemed to only have 2 other (small) tables in next room over). He was nice but not very competent. We would have had more drinks and apps if he wasn`t so inexperienced...Note to Rest: Put a `good` server on a group!

Rosa Mexicano demonstrates that Miami isn't a town full of great Mexican restaurants. R-M might even be taking advantage of that, because the quality seems to be going rapidly downhill. As others have noted, the guac is a rip-off, particularly if you sit outside, because they don't bring the cart outside - just a shallow bowl of under-seasoned and over-priced smashed avocados and salty chips. The presentation of the Carne Asada Tacos has changed over years. It's getting lazier, with less flavor. My steak looked perfectly prepared, but it was so tough that my jaw began to hurt halfway through the meal. (and of course, I'd been pulling tough pieces of meat out of my taco with my teeth, because I couldn't bite through it while still in the tortilla.) I went to Salsa Fiesta in Edgewater shortly after my last visit to R-M. What a contrast! Much better food at a small fraction of the price.

I was so Happy when I found Rosa Mexicano. Me and a friend had stumbled in on a guess and I have to say It blew me away. We started with the table side guacamole. This is a must for anyone who goes there. They will custom make it for you taste, It went perfect with our margaritas. We also ordered the nachos as an app sooo good! The whole menu looked great but I went with the fish taco's crazy good! Our waiter was also so awesome. If your looking for a place to eat in Mary Brickell Village head on over to Rosa order up a margarita and get ready for a unique eating experience.

A welcome spot in Mary Brickell Village, "Rosa Mex" is also a great meeting place. I'm in the bar and patio area as often as the dining room. Very good taco specials for lunch, great guacamole, and overall, a solid, convenient spot for business lunches or afternoon meetings.

Great service, mediocre food. Over salted chips, guacamole presentation is nice. Guacamole ehhhhhh. Atmosphere was nice but the food is not authentic Mexican. Mexican food is flavorful not food with spice. So many other better places in Miami. Cancun grill and many others.

Went to Rosa Mexicano I think maybe 2 yrs ago, never been back because last time I didnt have a good experience. Guacamole pricey(sure they make it right there so what) what we order wasn't authentic mexican, sure I get that maybe is more fancier food than the ones Im use to eat when I go to Mexico. Having a mexican bf is a problem, he knows when food is good or not., Miami mexican food is not good at all, unless ingredients are from mexico. Services was fine, very polite...but I would never go back because for that price i can eat better in other restaurants.

This is a upscale Mexican place with fresh guacamole bowl for $26, which is expensive. The menu has less selections than other places but the food is good as well as the décor but is still average nothing that says extra ordinary. I like the place but I agree with other reviews saying pricey plus gives very small portions.

Good! Get the chips with guacamole. They make the guacamole right in front of you! Gotta love the freshness. The food is good and if you have been to other Rosa's restaurants, it is consistent. Go!

For me to say it was so underwhelming is an understatement. I have eaten at Rosa Mexicano in NYC and thought it was ok there...but the Miami experience I thought was so much worse. First, we are in Miami people. Home of sunshine and fresh air. This restaurant is dark, drab and just cold. We went for brunch on a weekend and it was beautiful outside and asked to sit on the patio (they had one with lots of tables). Nope. They could not accommodate. It was set-up, but they would not sit us there. Strike. I read what people wrote and felt we should leave....but my wife talked me into staying. Mistake. We ordered fresh quac...which was good...but darn...the price was surprising. $14 for two avocados is highway robbery. We ordered it spicy...but it had nothing. I ordered filet tacos for $18. They were small and tasteless. They were described as "Filete* mole-rubbed filet mignon. over truffle-wild mushroom purée, sautéed poblano peppers, chiles, onions and avocado leaf-dusted french fries." So when the dish came out I asked about the fries...there were no fries. They said it did not come with fries. They pointed to 5 or 5 thin...I mean thin....strips of something fried that is dusted at top the taco. The description was either poorly written or they just did not have them. There were also offering a check in special. You got a free taster of their margarita. I tried it. I would have preferred cough syrup. It was bad. I mean real bad. Would I go back. Nope.

Rosa Mexicana , I was expecting better and larger portions . Guacamole , was for 2 but unfortunately it wasn't enough for two, appetizer plates are small, you feel like you are getting cheated . Main course plates was average taste . I asked medium rare steak , but i got medium steak , so it wasn't that impressive to value that you are paying . Also service was average as well . Managers need to assist and lead the service , not only visit the tables ,also they need to refill water pick up plates as well to give better pleasant service to their customers !!!

I recall visiting a Rosa Mexicano restaurant many years ago in New York and remember it being a very pleasant experience. The same cannot be said of this particular location in Brickell. I came here for happy hour and was surprised that I had to ask for the happy hour menu. Its pure logic to me that if a group of 7 gals show up sharp at 5 pm on a Thursday the happy hour menu would be expected. Moving on, the only thing I could appreciate from our food items ordered was the guacamole served in a huge mortar bowl, huge referring to the bowl itself here. This is probably their signature and/or best seller at a whopping $14 bucks. It supposedly feeds 2-3 but that is sooo far from being a true and correct statement. It is only true if dipping two tortilla chips in the bowl means "feeding me". Girl can eat much more than that. Anyway, I am moving on from this as well and still liking their guacamole despite it all. Their hh menu looked promising at first glance but it was just a-ok - here it goes: Queso Fundido /Melted Cheese Fondue - melted Chihuahua cheese topped with crumbled chorizo sausage, cilantro and rajas (slow cooked Mexican peppers) - $4.90 This was better than i expected but they brought it out cold which in turns made the cheese gummy-like. Flautas de Pollo / Rolled Crispy Chicken Tacos - $4.50 This was nothing to die for. Next. Ensalada del Mercado / Market Salad - $3.90 The vinaigrette was the only thing true to its description (honey-lime), otherwise just greens tossed together here. I didn't see the avocado in it. Tacos de Pollo / Chicken Tacos - $4.00 Again, nothing to brag for. Next Tacos de Panza con Callos de Hacha / Pork Belly and Sea Scallop Tacos - $6.40 This sounded most appealing to me but the flavors were just lacking. The citrus habanero salsa was good but an additional sauce was needed to tie this together because the protein was flavorless. The Churros Rellenos were neatly presented in a paper bag and served on a platter with three dipping sauces. The description mentioned that the churros were filled with caramel but I could not taste or see that. The caramel was served on the side with a chocolate and raspberry dipping as well. You can share this among 5 for $7.50 I hope next time I come they will serve me much more guacamole....

Horrible service!!!! We were a big group of about 15 for a bachelorette party and wanted 3 separate checks to make the paying simpler but getting that took 45 mins after negotiating with the manager. The manager was extremely rude and the waiter was in la la land. After getting the separate checks they messed up where the orders would go and still were very rude. Never going back. The manager, Mr. Poor, should be fired. 2 stars because the food is good. Don't go there if you're a big group. Ever.

The best way to describe this place is..average (other than the price!). The food was fine but certainly nothing special. I must say, everyone at the table was astonished at the small portions! I mean especially at a Mexican place, there's usually a lot more food on your plate, especially with the price ($20+ on average). The service was also very average. The waiter barely smiled or said anything other than the usual, but really that's fine with me. All in all I have no big complaints but I wouldn't recommend it to someone, especially if you're visiting Miami (like I was)

I have eaten at their Brickell location several times and have never been impressed. As a lifelong lover of Mexican food, I have had WAY better for WAY less. The best thing about Rosa Mexicano is the decor, its a beautiful restaurant. The decor is the only good thing about the restaurant. The service is horrible. The drinks poorly made and extremely overpriced. The food leaves something to be desired. They are known for their guacamole made table side and priced at $14. It is far from impressive and the chips are always cold. I make guacamole all the time that is substantially better and significantly cheaper. For $14, I can make guacamole for 8 to 10 people, theirs barley feeds two! My most recent Rosa experience was quite possibly my worst. We went for Sunday brunch with hopes of delicious food and fun drinks. We should have turned around when we noticed that no one was eating there. It was a warm beautiful day, so we sat outside. I later regretted this decision when our server failed to refill our waters for the entire meal. I was recovering from the fabulous Vizcaya Halloween party and was in dire need of a good Bloody Mary. Too bad I ordered the worst Bloody Mary of my life. Despite being top shelf, the drink was so bad I gave it to my date to drink, keep in mind I love Bloody Mary's. The food was bad. My date added shrimp to his meal, but when it came out we could not find any shrimp. When he brought this to the waiters attention he expected a new meal or for them to bring him a side of shrimp. Instead the waiter stared at the food for a while then said' I see a piece of shrimp.' We called the manager who did...nothing. My date had to ask him to fix it. When the food came back out, nothing had changed. After several issues, I suspected the manager might comp an entree or our drinks. But alas, he did not comp a single thing so we were forced to shell out over $100, despite being disappointed by everything we ordered. Joy. Needless to say we have not returned to Rosa. On a good note, this terrible experience prompted us to try Toscan Divino the next Sunday; we fell in love with their brunch.

Hands down this is my favorite Mexican Restaurant. I wish we had one in Orlando. The guacamole is to die for, the margaritas are fantastic, and the desserts are out of this world. My husband and I have been to the Palm Beach Gardens location a few times and loved it. So when we were in Miami with family we knew we had to go here. We each ordered an entree and shared everything, and I can honestly say I liked everything I tried. I don't have a single complaint about this restaurant. Please try it if you are in the area. Yum yum yum!

  • Nijole T.

I would give it 4 stars and this was one of the few occasions where my husband enjoyed his meal more than I did. I though it was rather expensive and the portions small. I splurged and ate the $12 guacamole which was only the best I've ever tasted AFTER my husband added salsa to make it really pop with flavor, other than that except for the nice preperation tableside and the great waiter I would save the money. His favorite was the flautas, the steak tacos came in second. In all I won't be back there is such a wide array of fabulous mexican food in Miami, why bother with an overpriced chain?

After only going there once before for lunch, I decided to hold off until I had dinner here tonight to review. Favorite thing about the decor is the waterfall, it adds such a nice relaxing, soothing touch. Of course we ordered the all so famous "guacamole" oh such a delight. To many places can't get it right. but these guys sure do. My hubby was nice enough to let me have more since I love it so much. Then dinner roll, here it goes: I choose the carne asada- grilled skirt steak, which they asked how I wanted my steak cooked.....med-rare (nice to ask) marinated in guajillo and pasilla chiles, garlic, cumin and black pepper. Served with melted chihuahua cheese. (tortilla's on the side) my first impression was are you kidding for $18.50 and it looked like six small pieces of meat but wow, could not finish it, but got pretty darn close because it was so tasty and good. Husband ordered a pork shank, it was so big and flavorful, the waitress laughed and said you can handle it and she was right he was almost licking the very large bone.... We did have two maragaritas which were good, but very small maybe 5 oz. for $10.00 each. The black beans could have been my whole dinner, reminded me of my childhood when my friends mom use to make them...so darn good. The rice, thought it was a little bland and was not to my taste buds! Service- Very good Food- Better than good Price- $95.00 for two people....steep, but I would go back because the food was great! Nice to have in Mary Brickell Village... P.S. The hostess was such a delight, so sweet!!!

Decent Mexican food and nice play to gather with some friends. I like the guacamole as well. My main gripe is that this place is way too expensive for what I consider just mediocre/decent food.

    (3)
  • Monica A.

I've been coming here since they opened in Miami and the decline is obvious. The guacamole used to be an entertaining, relaxed, and fun TABLESIDE experience. Now it's rushed, skimpy portions, and sometimes not even prepared tableside. The service is abysmally slow and sometimes the food comes out lukewarm. The only redeeming qualities are the bomb margaritas - lethally strong, and lethally expensive. Also, they once spilled a bowl of salsa all over my dad and did not offer to comp anything on the meal or pay for the cleaning of his shirt. My dad refuses to come back -- but I always find myself here since it occupies the primest real estate in Brickell and I've been consistently disappointed with the lackluster food for exorbitant prices. I wish it would go back to its glory days in 2009!

This place is a disaster. What horrendous service and really a WTF attitude. We go out all the time and I will never be back. Food took hours and arrived cold, manager could care less. Gave them 1 star because I could leave it blank.

I always thought of this place as that Fancy Mexican place on Brickell, which is why I avoided it because normally the best Mexican food comes from back of suspicious looking Homestead food trucks and WE ALL KNOW THAT. But today, I wasn't paying and I heard their Micheladas were no joke, so that coupled with insane hunger led me to this elegant little place like a siren song. Now first off, this place is more expensive than most Mexican places. It really is more like high end Mexican dining, if you can wrap your head around that. That being said, the food is way better than most Mexican restaurants mainly because they do stick to authentic recipes and fresh products. Their refried beans are hands down the best I have ever had in a Miami restaurant. I would suggest that anyone not familiar with Micheladas start with the traditional one served here. This recipe is the perfect introduction to our little beer cocktail. More flavor than beer and they rim the glass with a thick layer of salt, which I Loovveee. It has a tangy but harmless kick to it that makes it perfect for those lightweights that like to complain about their asses being on fire later. The only drawback is their Brickell fine dining prices, but its' worth it.

I've been here a few times and am never disappointed. The guacamole is incredible. Fresh, chunky & as spicy as you are! "Skillet style" fajitas are the best choice on the menu. The side or street corn is also amazingly delicious. It's pretty expensive though, if that wasn't already obvious.

The best way to experience Rosa Mexicano without feeling you were robbed is to order the freshly made guacamole, have some drinks, and then order dessert. Skip the overly expensive entrees. I was shocked at how overpriced it was when there are so many other options in the area. Carne skillet tacos... $23? Shrimp brochette... $26? Ouch. Take a look at the menu for yourself: rosamexicano.com/LinkCli… My entire party had a serious case of eye twitching before ordering. On the plus side, we were very pleased with the guacamole which we housed in 2 seconds, and we were delighted with the tres leches dessert we had. Want some seriously good Mexican food? Drive to Homestead, or check out El Carnal on 8th street. Want a decent bite to eat in our near Mary Brickell Village? Open your Yelp app and find a ton of other places. If you're still set on eating here, this is what we had: - Baja fish tacos: More like filet o' fish at McDonalds. Not sure what's up with that tartar sauce, but I'd definitely skip it. - Carne asada tacos, skillet style: The meat was really good. - Enchiladas: Good, nothing to write home about, but a safe bet - Queso fundido: Fun if you like melted cheese. A little salty, but not bad. - Table side Guacamole: All the other reviews said it - this is a must. - Churros (dessert): Not bad if you like churros, but personally they were too thick. - Tres leches (dessert): WINNER.

Rosa Mexicano can be a 3-star or a 4-star experience depending upon what you order. I've come here a lot and know what I like from the menu, so it's a 4-star experience for me. I usually get the ahi tuna ceviche, the grilled mexican corn off the cob, and the chicken tortilla pie. The meat in the chicken tortilla pie is very tender and flavorful. This dish needs to be $15 instead of $20 in my opinion, but oh well. Rosa has a really tasty, spicy chile de arbor salsa that's good on everything. I won't eat the chicken tortilla pie without it. All dishes come with a generous portion of refried black beans and rice. Stay away from the lamb tacos (the meat was very chewy). Guacamole is awesome. It's made table-side, so you can have it prepared to your liking with as much chillies and lime as you want. They have awesome margaritas! Give me a pomegranate margarita and a molcajete of guacamole, and I'm a happy gal.

OpenTable integration with the Yelp app = genius and made the reservation process last night flawless. We waited maybe 5 extra minutes after we arrived, which was reasonable since it was a Saturday night. Once we were seated our waiter was very helpful and attentive with any questions we had. I was initially torn between choosing to sip on a margarita or their sangria, but they don't allow their sangria to ferment, so in my opinion it's not the real deal. So, la Clasica margarita it was - and it was good (though we asked to switch the tequila to Patron, which was only $1 more). The food is plentiful and meant to be shared, so we started off with the queso fundido and the guacamole. Both which were very good. The queso was too good for words - bubbling cheese and chorizo = yum. What's not to love? The made-to-order guacamole was addicting, however, the sodium levels on their chips are insane - they might want to tone it down a bit. But it could be they're too salty to make you even thirstier, in which case it's pretty smart of them. For the main course I ordered the lamb stuffed chiles, which were very good. It's definitely a dish with some kick, however, I wasn't a huge fan of the green pumpkin seed sauce, maybe because compared to all the other flavors it was very mild, but I guess it was so that it didn't overpower the chiles and lamb meat...? Since we were sharing our dinners, I also tried: - Chicken mole (2.5-3 stars): if you've had other moles, just know this is a sweet mole, unfortunately I wasn't too impressed. - Filet mignon with mushrooms (4 stars): the flavors of the meat, mushrooms, and cream sauce were savory. - Pork shank (4 stars): was also a huge hit at our table as the meat just fell right off the bone. Plus, the portion is huge! Overall I enjoyed the food, however, I was a little disappointed with their dessert options since nothing really grabbed my attention. All in all Rosa Mexicano is worth a try. I guess my one major gripe was that I wish the lights in the section we were seated in were a little dimmer since I felt more like I was at the Mexican equivalent to an Olive Garden instead of an "upscale and modern" restaurant. 3.5 stars

Great ambiance & decor! Fresh guacamole, made for you table side...as spicy or as mild as you like it! Great margaritas! Lots of fun during Cinco de Mayo, which is hard to find in a city that is very Cuban centered.

  • Alejandra A.

The guacamole is insane! I think I would go there again just for that ... The decor is nice, rich mexican colors and the wall of the diving men is itneresting to look at. Our server was real nice and made sure we had all that we needed. This time, we took advantage of the Miami Spice menu, which is always super convenient for anyones pocket. Let's be realistic, this place is not cheap and for $10 you can get the same or better in any mom and pop place in L.A. The white wine sangria was very refreshing and went wel with the food. I had the alambre- skewers of fillet mignon with spicy chorizo, veggies and rice with mole and tomatillo sauce. We all tried the ceviche--MUST try-- and 2 different desserts, the flan and the cheesecake- both were excellent. If you don't mind spending a little extra cash for mexican food, then this is the place to do it at.

I've been to the one in NYC which is 5 stars to me, but this one in Mary Brickell was just okay. I sat outside, ordered the guac, and it wasn't made table-side. The food and service here were a little sub-par in comparison to the other Rosa Mexicano I've been to. Also, the entree prices should be slightly reduced. Overall, okay. I'll sit inside next time on a better evening, and update my review.

This place was suggested by our cab driver and we decided to give it a shot & came here for dinner during our last night in Miami...I'm so glad we did! It's in an excellent location and the ambiance is beautiful (I love the butterflies against the wall). Although the food is Mexican, I loved the contemporary feel of the restaurant. We ordered an appetizer of guacamole and for $14 it wasn't anything spectacular but the sangria and our vegetable fajitas definitely made up for it. So much so, that the thought of those fajitas is making my mouth water right now. I haven't had fajitas that were that unique and tasted so delicious. I'm looking forward to visiting Miami again and when I do, I will definitely make it a point to eat here again!

I've been here before and never wrote a review (pre-yelp times.) I have nothing but fond memories. This experience was equally pleasing but nothing earth shattering. The decor is nice - modern Mexican I guess you can call it. Nice crowd. We ordered the table-side guacamole, which was awesome. My husband ordered a soup which he seemed to enjoy. My sister and I indulged in the skillet queso with crumpled sausage on top, which comes with a side of warm tortillas. This dish was the highlight of our meal. We then ordered beef tacos (?) and I think chicken fajitas. Both were pretty good. For dessert we had the Churros since they were out of our original selection - the Churros were tasty but kinda too greasy for my taste. The service was good - our server was attentive even though it was 10p on a Sunday and they were wrapping up. It was a nice dining experience, I'll return for appetizers and maybe a margarita next time.

My sons stomach hurt from eating the scallop taco which had "pork belly" on it which was a slab of fat. Ewwwww.the guacamole was overpriced but good. Avoid this place.

So, I went for a return visit & the service was better this time. Our server was pretty nice and didn't pull a Houdini, which was nice since we had tickets to a show. One of my pet peeves is wanting to leave and not being able to because your server fell off the earth and you can't get you bill..... frequent problem for me here in MIA. Anyhow, I got the crab enchiladas, which were actually pretty decent. The sauce they came with was spicier that I thought it would be. I like spicy, so it's all good. If you don't like spicy, don't order these, The table side quac was good as usual & the sangria was pretty decent. A little on the sweet side this time, but good anyhow. I still think the portions of food are wimpy for the price.... and I still wouldn't go here just to go here. It's still a-ok because I wouldn't beg to go elsewhere if dinning buddy wanted to eat here.

Ok, i'll try to be fair and balanced (ala Fox news): * Ambiance and decor= 5 stars. * Food price= sadly Overpriced, i have a thing against overpriced chinese and mexican food, probably wont be eating here again just because of this. * Food quality= pretty darn good, portions not so much but we walked out full (MSG? gluten? i'll let you be the judge). The enchiladas were very good. * Service = just ok, not impressed. They have this guacamole cart and they make it on the spot for you, it looked delicious...

Good food, fun atmosphere, but why do they close at midnight on Saturday night? I had the signature pomegranate margarita which was delicious, regular margs are also quality. They're not too sweet which I appreciate. Good guacamole. Nice and chunky. It comes with tortilla chips, a few small corn tortillas, and two sauces: mole and tomatillo. Everything was good and very fresh tasting. The chicken flautas were excellent. The mushroom quesadilla was ok, a little weird to me. I just never put mushrooms and quesadillas together in my head. We sat at a table in the bar area. The bar area is fun, and perfect if you don't want a full meal.

Big fan of this place. Have had a number of entrees. Snapper, tuna, etc and none have disappointed. Salsa is spicy an tableside guac is the bomb. Enjoy!

I recently attended Rosa Mexicano for brunch. My girlfriend and I each had the Huevos Rancheros. Instead of eggs with a sauce, we had soup. It was awful and I'll eat just about anything. The drinks were not very good. I had a bloody mary. It was way too spicy, even though i ordered the "mild" one. My girlfriend had the guava and champagne, and thought it was average. In addition, we also had the guacamole which was decent, expect the fact that the other ingredients in the guacamole were way too thick. Finally, the service was non-existent. We were just really, really disappointed considering it was somewhat pricey for what you get. Honestly, go to Mercadito instead for a significantly better Mexican dining experience.

I visted the Mary Brickell location & I enjoyed everything about this place. I ordered the Chicken Tortilla Pie and it was absolutely delish! I also ordered the traditional margarita and trust me, they were not skimpy with the tequila. I love Mexican food so I am very glad that my experience here was nothing less than awesome.

Gross beyond belief!!!! My boyfriend has been nagging me to go here. He swore the place was excellent. We got there, waited to be seated even though there was practically no tables. The waitress came and got our drink orders, took our food orders, then promptly forgot our table existed. The menu was lacking in options. Also the food seemed to be a loosely "Mexican Inspired" versus actually being true to the roots of Mexican food. I got the ($13.00) guacamole (which was the only redeeming part of my experience). The waitress had to be flagged down to refill our drinks even though she would casually walk next to our table (literally I could have grabbed her arm she was so close), see our empty glasses, make eye contact us then keep walking. The make-your-own tacos were gross. My lamb was slimy, tough, and gamey tasting. The tacos also didn't come with everything listed on the menu. Basically I got two sauces and creamed corn - yuck! I will never come back. It's a shame to because the place is really nice on the inside. The decor is beautiful and the outside seating is very nice. It's so private and well designed. I doubt I would even come back for drinks.

Come here for two things: The guacamole and the ambiance. They make the guacamole right at your table which clearly guarantees you the best freshest guacamole ever. The decor is very appealing with all the warm bright colors. Its a great spot to share appetizers and kickback with some drinks.

Rosa Mexicano actually makes me angry. Why is Mexican food suddenly pretentious and expensive? Give me a basic tortilla with steak sauteed with cilantro, onions, and garlic, and you have a perfect taco - don't add crab meat! It's not authentic! The guacamole is nothing special, just that someone is making it in front of you without a lot of spices that typically adds to the flavor. Let's call it what it is... a place to get expensive margaritas and to make people think they're getting something exotic and good... and really when you finish off one of their margaritas, well, you'll think anything is exotic and good. Stay away if you want something unique - unfortunately my parent's are infatuated with the place, but I think most vegetarians/ vegans have lost the sense of taste, so why should I be surprised?

Rosa Mexicano is a perfect lunch retreat. I haven't been for dinner, but you need to be there before 12 to get parking and a table for lunch. The tableside guacamole is a must have. Its $12 bucks for 2-3 people and worth every red cent. I've had the quesadillas and the enchiladas suizas- which is what i regularly get. I have yet to leave here unhappy!

I had lunch here a couple of days ago and I have to say I was impressed. I don't really go for Mexican food, don't care for it much. But, the guacamole here is amazing. I also had the tartar that came with jalapeno ice cream, which was an interesting and surprising combination. The staff was very friendly and the ambiance is really good.

Hi, I am never coming here again. This was my second visit, my first was forgettable and my second was a disaster. I know it was 5 de Mayo and it was kinda crazy. Unfortunately I was there before the craziness. bad experience: 1) We are at a table outside I see a server walking by I say excuse me. She replies honey I have things in my hand I will be right with you. (wow I just wanted to ask if you were are server) 2) She finally comes 30 minutes later hey can I have a cup of water? She replies sweetheart I'm here to serve drinks not water. Ok?? can I have a bottle of water? She replies ok now you are talking. 3) 20 minutes later she brings the damn bottled water. I ask hey I dont have a menu do you have tacos?? Her "if you want tacos go to baja fresh" (yea my blood was boiling by this time.. To make an extremely long story short she messed up on out order 3 times. not bringing beer, and not bringing our guacamole and of course over charging us for items we never ordered. By the way it took 40 minutes just to get my bill and she had my credit card. I was so upset I went to the manager pled my case, she comped our bad experience. I'm sorry but if your a server and you primarily work on tips having a good attitude will go a long way thats just m opinion.

If there were 0 stars, I would give it. Poor Service. I was there on a weekday afternoon (11/13/12) and the restaurant was dead. After waiting 10 minutes in front of the manager, who was on the phone/'hosting', I had to tell him I'm leaving. The manager did not even acknowledge my presence, not did he tell me to wait. I heard they had good specials, but they're definitely not worth my time.

I really love this place. The fresh Guac is true to it's mexican heritage, packing a mean punch to start off the meal. I like to close things out with the Carne Asada Tacos on those warm corn tortillas.

The food is okay and accompanied by inflated prices. We ended up ordering a large guacamole which I thought was bland and left me unimpressed. What left a lasting impression was the 20$ they charged us for it! That being said, I went just to try it and will never go back.

What kind of dining experience do you enjoy? Do you like going home and feeling like you flushed money down the toilet? Perhaps you like to drown your misery in oversized $15 dollar craptails that would make Sandra Lee proud before hitting on people half your age. If either of these made you jump out of your seat and say "That's me!", or you aspire to be THE Semi-Homemade this side of Okeechobee, then slap that weird "I just botoxed, I'm not trying to play the flute" smile on your strained cougar-whore face. I went to Rosa right when it opened. I probably would have opted for 4 stars then. My excitement about the place got me a basketful of head slaps. It's probably worth 2 stars. I want to tell you a nice story about a particular day that I would rate as Suck. It was a day of slow and incompetent service. At this point I was coming under protest and my wife has come to regret forcing me to come this last time. The time before, a friend had ordered a dish that was passably good. I could not figure out which it was from the menu, so I asked the server, describing the dish in detail down to the radii of the plates. I was told they did not have that dish, and lest I misunderstand, they have NEVER had such a dish. I always love when restaurants tell you they've never done such-and-such a thing. Well, I politely told the server I had seen the dish with my own eyes, but I could easily order something else. AFTER the food finally came out (not before, as that could have been a misguided attempt at service), the manager came by and said he had been told there was some issue about the food. I explained the above, said it was no real issue, got the same spiel, I said I did not particularly care at this point and that the food was rather mediocre. End of story? Nah. The manager came back, I imagine to make sure I did not enjoy any of the meal, and kneeled at my side. With him was a magic binder that showed ALL Rosa Mexicana dishes and went through them, asking me "Was this your dish? No? ok, Was this your dish?" And finally, "I have no idea what you ordered." If you want Mexican food, or if you are aging gracefully and still look naturally young, go elsewhere. Go to one of the divey joints on 8 Street. Go to homestead. Go to El Scorpion on South Beach. Go to Eduardo de San Angel. Don't go here. Another squanderd opportunity in our back yard. Otherwise, come here. Maybe have a craptail at Blue Martini when you're done.

I really like the food and ambiance here (and let's not forget the Pomegranite frozen margaritas!). While I wouldn't consider myself an expert in Mexican food, much less fusion Mexican food which I think RM does a little of, I very much enjoy going to this restaurant. Service is good, guacamole is great, and food is tasty. I recommend everyone try it once- and if you're skeptical get a drink and appetizer at the bar. It might actually be more fun that way anyway.

We just moved into the Brickell area and are enjoying it already. This is the first restaurant we tried in the area and I can't say enough good things about it. The atmosphere is wonderful, I especially like the wall with the waterfall with the little statues of people diving off of it. The food was Fantastic. We started with the freshly prepared table side Guacamole. Delicious. I had the Filet mignon with the mushrooms and cream. Holy..... awesome. My boyfriend had the Lamb chops in a blackberry glaze. He swears it was the best Lamb he has ever had. I usually don't enjoy the gamey flavor of Lamb but I really did like this dish. It was pricey but well worth the splurge. I can't wait to go back.

Been here many times for dinner, couple times for lunch. This review will be based on their lunch. Started off with the guacamole, the real reason why I come here. Of course, the big thing is that they make it right in front of you to your liking so it is fresh. Ordered medium, didn't really taste any spice at all but still very good. Actually was pretty full off of it (though we ordered two servings which is quite a bit). Next for my main course, I ordered their chicken sandwich, which is only available on their lunch menu. It consists of pulled chicken, cole slaw, not sure what kind of bun (but the bun was good) and as side of onions (cook withed beets?) and sweet potato fries. Anyways, I could only eat half the sandwich and thought it was very good and satisfying. To be honest, when i normally come here, I really come for the guac and everything else is just ok, but this time I really enjoyed everything. Also had their classic margarita and a Paloma (which here is just a repasado tequila and grapefruit juice) which was also good. Overall pretty pleased with my experience. My guests also were really pleased. Would definitely be returning for lunch soon.

Fresh guacamole was So delicious. Went here with my boyfriend and we both really enjoyed it. That guacamole is worth going for; it was so fresh and spicy. I had the enchiladas suzias and thought they were very good (can't remember what Ryan had). I tried some sort of frozen pomegranate margarita which was delicious also. We ordered the churros for dessert and I thought the choice of 3 dipping sauces was very cute and all yummy! The ambiance is nice; very chic. The staff was fantastic. My only qualm is that I can get food just as great at Don Burrito and it's much less expensive...but that's what you get for dining Brickell :'P

We stopped by here for a lunch out on a beautiful crisp Saturday afternoon! The food was okay - not out of this world but decent. Their Crab Turnovers were small for the price but tasty. The Queso Fundido was so good we order two! I had their Chicken Tortilla soup and it had the right amount of spices - not spicy - but spices. Their salads aren't the best but their platters are pretty tasty! Overall not a bad experience - the staff could have a bit more personality but that's okay b/c we kept having different people come by and wait on us. BTW their churros were delicious but their dipping sauces were not compatible. They need to have a simple taste like sweetened condensed milk and melted chocolate.

I come to Brickell Village often and really enjoy Rosa MExicana for Happy Hour or Dinner. Last night we sat outside, enjoyed a few Negra Modelo Especial (only Mexican beers available) and some great food. The Tablones (Boneless Beef Short Ribs) were amazing. The Guacamole is always perfect, get it spicy. The ceviche was ok, the mushroom quesadillas are very good too. Although i didn't have it yesterday, the Salmon is amazing here as is the duck.

Probably some of the worst most expensive food I have eaten. I would not go back. The guacamole is subpar and I rather them not make it in front of me but actually give me a decent portion. Virtually no options for vegetarians. The only reason I feel they deserve one star is the artwork in the restaurant (Brickell) is quite nice.

  • Tony T.

The food is pretty good, as well as the service, but I find it a little too fancy in the price department for the food they serve. One example is that they make a big deal about there $12 Guacamole appetizer, prepared fresh next to your table by a trained "Guacamolist" and while it sounds impressive, neither the taste or serving size seems adequate. To be honest, there is a little whole in the wall, not to far from there called "Taqueria El Mexicano" on Calle Ocho and 5th that makes a far better Guacamole, HANDS DOWN and at half the price. If you have a fancy business meeting and you want mexican food, then this place fits, otherwise, if you want real authentic mexican food, try the Taqueria El Mexicano, for the true mexican experience at a much more reasonable price point.

The guacamole made fresh in front of you is superb... that said, i think the rest of the menu, a 'modern' twist on mexican food, is overpriced and very few items succeed in their attempt at this upscale thing they are trying. the carne asada was good - but pricey for what you get, their tortilla soup was very salty to the point of being inedible. the churros (one of their desserts) used to be good, but now they are filling them up with too much syrup, and were so overly covered with sugar, it was impossible to eat as well. which was very disappointing considering how expensive everything is there. not sure id go back...

GUACAMOLE!!! If you love guacamole or are open to trying new foods this is the place to be. They make the guacamole fresh at the table and it is absolutely incredible. The chicken tortillas and rice and beans are great and really fresh. They also have awesome margaritas. This place is expensive but definitely worth it. If you love Mexican food this is authentic and delicious and definitely worth it!

Great gluten-free menu. Outstanding guacamole! I had a salmon dish with rice & beans. The fish was prepared to my taste and I will certainly return. I ate at the bar and the service was somewhat slow as the bartender was also serving some of the nearby tables. All things considered, I would recommend it.

This is the worst service I've ever experienced at a $$$ restaurant. Our server treated us like a nuisance and we felt abandoned out on the patio while we waited patiently for signs of life. My chicken mole was good, but not that good. I'd rather go to a hole in the wall taqueria and get quality Mexican food and respectful service for a great price. I guess this is a good place to go if you want to sit around and drink tequila and feel like a posh Brickell socialite. Not my scene.

Im Mexican, and still searching for a good restaurant in South Beach Rosa Mexicano had its second chance yesterday, ive been to the Lincoln one before, however, as the proverb goes, same restaurant same result. Terrible service for what they charge.. i mean cmon the food is good, its the best actually ive tasted, and ive been to several. but the food just doesnt cut it when high prices are being paid.. for example you order a guacamole, they will charge you a total of 16 dlls for 1 avocado in the gucamola, for that price it better be good. and it isnt. Terrible experience, ruined my dinner twice in a row. Both times the wait for the food was plus 45 minutes, felt like more than an hour. and the waiters again in both restaurants, just filling the role, actually i complaint about the time it took our food to come to the table, and the manager gave is a comp dessert. but the waitress just changed our dessert to what she wanted probably a left over and i was over with the complaints, i didnt appreciate it and left no tip,, i rarely dont leave tip, ive just done this twice in my lifetime.. however the service just fought for it. and i invite everyone to do the same, bottom line,, not impressed, if you charging 16 dlls for 1 avocado, service better be there and it isnt.. food good, but not good enough to compansate for the wait time, service and cost. Adios Amigo.. still searching

We dropped by on early on a Saturday night and we sat in the bar area since it was not possible to get a reservation. Since the place is so new, it is very crowded. We had their famous Guacamole en Molcajete (mild, medium, spicy) with chips. It is prepared tableside in a cast iron bowl and served with warm corn tortillas and chips and several sauces. I thought the chips were better than average but not great. I also tried their signature pomogranite margarita with salt -- not bad and very strong. It's not that big so don't be surprised if you order several. I ordered their enchiladas suizas which was okay, but I had some severe food envy of my daughter's Budin de Pollo, baked soft corn tortillas with pulled chicken covered with Chihuahua cheese and roasted Mexican peppers served with poblano cream sauce. All of their entrees are served with black refried beans and rice were incredible. They serve the rice and beans on the side and you give keep unlimited refills. The decor is very nice and their is both an inside and outside bar area with a few flat screen TVs.

I give it 4 stars because the margaritas are the best I have had in S Florida. Try with a better tequila like Herradura silver, much much better than Cuervo. The food is what I would call Mexican inspired. Yes there are some traditional plates, but even those are done gourmet. This is not mom'm'pop Mexican so don't expect that. Also, some items should be obvious to avoid. I often have the specials and they rarely disappoint. Last week for the 'Real Men Cook' menu I had porterhouse in wine with mexican spices. Delicious. Last time for the Chocolate festival I had red snapper in a red/chocolate sauce. Outstanding. I won't judge others but I don't know why you would order the tacos at $18. I'm sure they're great, but with so many other interesting options why go there

I was in town for a quick weekend trip with my girlfriend and we both love Mexican food. Being from Boston we normally don't eat great Mexican and we have to constantly hear from our friends from other parts of the country about how horrible Boston Mexican food is compared to where ever they are from. The food here was no better than what we get at the typical Boston Mexican place. Don't get me wrong there was nothing wrong with it per se but it's nothing special. The highlights of the mean was the guac followed closely by our white sangria which I recommend. The decor was also nice, we sat outside on the patio. The food itself wasn't all that great. I had the Alambre a la Mexicana (skewers of filet mignon, chorizo sausage, onions, tomatoes, and serrano peppers. Served over house rice with tomatillo and tomato-chipotle sauces). The beef was dry and not very tastie which pretty much limited how much I enjoyed the rest of the dish. Overall I'd wish we wouldn't have went someplace else but if I lived in the area I'd probably give this place a second try.

Their guacamole is to die for!!!!! The atmosphere is great as well. Their dishes were delish ( mine and my daughters). However, the deserts were just okay, but trust me.....everything else made up for it. I've been here several times too and have tried plenty of meals and they were all lick your fingers good. ;)

Had dinner with friends last night at Rosa Mexicano, and we all had an incredible time. Sure the dishes are a bit pricey, but the food as well as the atmosphere is great! We had pomegranate margaritas with the queso & guacamole to start. All excellent! I ordered the Chamorro (pork shank) as my entree and was honestly shocked at how tender & juicy & sizable my portion was. Truly delicious! Another impressive dish was the chicken enchiladas Suiza, but we got the mole sauce instead of the tomatillo sauce listed on the menu. Fabulous! Our service was okay. A bit slow at times, but really not bad. I def recommend this restaurant & look forward to a repeat visit.

I'm sorry but other than the guacamole, this place didnt do anything for me. The food was not authentic, and the prices were crazy. I mean why would anyone pay $40 per person to eat bad enchiladas. I thought it was horrible. I would never go back. Maybe I just didn't order the right thing. Other than the actual restaurant which was really pretty and the bar area that I would consider having drinks at, I wouldn't go back to eat.

What a WONDERFUL experience!!!! I have lived in Miami for the past three years and let me tell you, one thing you can't find here is good service. But here at Rosa it was terrific. We had an extremely friendly and courteous waitress who was very knowledgeable about both drinks and the menu. My husband and I hadn't the slightest clue as to what ordered so we took her personal favorites (tampiquena and the fish of the day for entrees) We figured the food would be good, but boy we weren't expecting what came out. I loved every single second of being there from the cascading water wall to the 'famous guacamole' I will definitely be returning with friends next time.

This place is pretty close to five stars in my book. Drinks were tasty and kept coming - service was good, guac freshly made at the table and they had my favorite tequila. The lamb chops were just ever so slightly undercooked and therefore more difficult to eat (I prefer medium rare and got more like rare), but the mole was delicious. The place has a great vibe as well, and it really was an enjoyable and relaxed evening even though the place was busy and there was a lot going on - I'd check it out again in an instant.

As long as this place has been around by now, I just finally rolled around to it. And that's because we went there from work for a coworker's birthday. All of that is to say that one thing I love is being pleasantly surprised by avoiding a trendy spot only to find that it actually has good food. The guacamole and chips were sooo tasty. It's hard not to fill up on those and miss out on your entree. Since we went for lunch, I had the Puebla chicken sandwich and it was really good. The sweet potato fries really balanced the spiciness of the chipotle from the sandwich. Add a refreshing margarita and then I was ready to go back to the grind at the office.

I guess I am so used to my favorite Mexican joints...but all in all....not a bad experience. Pricey....Five people did cost me close to two hundred bucks....thats with only 3 drinks and no apps! But service and decor were on point. Food...again, was different. The use of spices and smokey flavors is very obvious. The fresh chips and tortillas helped. Gauc was good....and disappointed about the vegetarian menu....also they do not substitute things. So if you are travelling with veggies, make sure you read the menu first.

So before I start, I want to be clear.....I am reviewing and rating the take out service, not the dine-in experience, now that's clear I will begin. NEVER again! I have actually been to Rosa Mexicano and dined-in and it was lovely, however, the take-out service left a lot to be desired..... a) First you have to order at the bar, granted it was a busy night but I was literally ignored for a a good 15 minutes. When I was then being served some ladies at the bar kept interrupting and instead of politely asking them for a minute the bar tender stopped serving me and addressed their needs. Would have left right there and then, but I had be hankering after guacamole all day..... b) Once I finally ordered, was very specific but we will come back to this later.....there was basically no place for a gal on her own to hang out and wait. The bar was full of Sunday night patrons either eating or waiting for a table. So I ended up squeezing between to groups (a couple on a romantic dinner on my left and the group of 3 ladies, who kept interrupting whilst I was placing my order because they are of course the centre of the universe!). Was very comfortable and basically had to stay like that for 30 minutes whilst I waited for my take-out. When it was done, and a waiter bought it to the bar, the bartender indicated it was for me and that the rest of the order was in the bag behind him.......so the waiter puts the last part of the order int he bag and leaves. Whilst I stand there for 5 n=minutes, trying to get anyones eye to pass me the bag so I can leave having already paid when I placed the order. c) Ok, so my BFF in Singapore thinks its hilarious the way that I order considering i will try (and generally like) the weirdest of ingredients (yes I do like crocodile, it tastes delicious)....and admittedly it sounds a little fussy of me BUT the truth is if I want to have something that doesn't give me an allergic reaction (over ripe carrots, cilantro etc. ) or make me want to throw-up (e.g. sour cream) it is better to be clear when I order.......so I asked for the plantain without the sour cream and cheese melted on top and I asked for the guacamole spicy but without the cilantro......so first before I leave I notice the plantain has the gunk I specifically requested not be on the plantain, leading to another 10 minute wait whilst they supposedly made a fresh order.........then I leave and get home to find.... d) ........ they had basically scrapped off the gunk that I detest, and then just packaged it back up rather than making a fresh order. AND the guacamole, had so much cilantro, I could not eat it. Normally these kind of misfortunes would have scored them a one......however, I have decided to give them a 2 because 1. I do appreciate it was busy, but come on how can you not follow the customers request....and 2. one of the bartenders was extremely hot so at least I had some good eye-candy to help while away the time, hahahaha

Overall, this place is nice. The interior is cool and snazzy and the crowd is varied. The food is also regularly yummy. Granted i've only been to the miami one once, but the new york locations never fail to please me. I definitely think just because there aren't that many options in miami as far as good guac, i definitely hit this place more than i would in new york. Can't say i think it's the best mexican place, considering the prices are a little above average, but i guess you're paying for the ambience

I'm getting over the glass incident. I just really love their tacos Cochinita Pibil, their guacamole and their pomegranate margaritas TOO MUCH. This restaurant is probably, still, our a frequent favorite of ours in Miami. Also, try the Cobb Salad here... it's one of the best things on the menu!

Mexican Food is my favorite.. and I like ma' stuff S-P-I-C-Y. Rosa does not do spicy apparently... I kinda feel like the food, in general, lacks flavor but on top of that even the "spicy" dishes are not spicy. I like the restaurant, I like the bar area and the outside seating, its a cool place to hang out... perhaps just for drinks though then head to wherever to actually eat your meal. I wish I could suggest appetizers.. but for me... taking into consideration the price as well I just don't think its worth it for the atmosphere alone.... Since Mexican is my favorite AND since I tend to LOVE the spice I am probably being a bit hard on Rosa... deal with it :0)

I've been here any number of times for drinks and dinner but the place has lost any charm it once had and now is just a pusher of overrated guacamole. Rosa's Miami Spice menu reads well except for the inexplicable $7-extra charge if you choose a single serving of guacamole as your appetizer. I got the queso fundido instead, and fish tacos and flan for dessert. All were sub-par. The queso was just ok; the chorizo in it was bland and there was little to no chiles in the cheese. When my entree came out, the first words out of my mouth were: fish sticks? They were breaded and fried fish on a bed of coleslaw and some queso fresco. Again, bland and lifeless. I ate all but one taco and that's only because I was starving. I need to say a little about the service, too, which was slow for lunchtime. If you're on the go and want to have an executive lunch Rosa is not the place. The waiters take their time, are gone for long stretches and ours, at least, didn't seem to know the menu that well. Lastly, my dessert was a coffee flan on a thin disk of coffee-infused chocolate cake topped with cinnamon whipped cream. Here's where I get to rave a little -- no, not about the flan which was flabby or about the gritty cake below that overpowered every other taste on the plate. The whipped cream with cinnamon was actually delicious. I wish the rest of the meal had followed suit.

Hadn't been to Rosa in ages, since before the menu was changed. Very disappointed in the lunch menu. I was hoping for Cochinita Pibil, which was always my favorite lunch dish, but that is gone. There are very few choices. The guacamole, was, as usual, very good, as are the salsa verde and the smoked salsa. For my lunch, I opted for the fish tacos, but was sorely disappointed to learn that the fish was fried, and smothered in a heavy white sauce. It looked like Gorton's fish sticks smothered in tartar sauce and tasted like that, too. The accompaniments were also mediocre. The restaurant is empty, and for good reason. Other than the guacamole, the food is not good. Sad, because this used to be one of my go-tos for a nice lunch.

Dinner was good enough, I am in love with the Tres Lecha Desert!!! OMG I WOULD GO BACK JUST FOR THAT!! Can not speak of cost... because I did not pay, but I do believe its $$$. Great place to take a date.

Restaurant is pretty good, I had stopped coming here because the food was great the first time and the second time not so great, then the 3rd time even worse. After a few long months, I decided to give it another chance and things obviously got better. I am not a 100% fan, but I will visit again.

The Venue Nice inside and out. The people watching in Brickell is priceless so for this I highly recommend sitting on the outdoor patio if you don't mind eating outside. The Food I've been here a few times. I like the guacamole ... It's quite good. The tacos were decent but nothing to go crazy over. I tend to think their entre dishes are better. The chamorro was probably my favorite but I also did enjoy the enchiladas suizas which you can get at quite a few Mexican restaurants. The Service Service has been pretty good every time. I gave this a 3 star... It's solid but not like amazing or anything.

While this facility is really pretty and inviting, a $100+ lunch check for 3 unremarkable dishes is too much. The guacamole is created and served with great fanfare and glamor, but mediocre is still mediocre, no matter how you cut it. Our mojitos were light on the liquor. Among us, we had the pollo/grilled chicken "skillet style," budin/chicken tortilla pie, and carne asada/skirt steak "skillet style." Sorry, nothing exciting here.

It was the day before Christmas Eve and after worked I was looking forward to a small girl's night out with a friend of mine. We both loved Rosa Mexicano and have not been there in a long time therefore we ventured to visit the restaurant. We both ordered the pomegrante margarita to start. It was served frozen which made it deliciously refreshing due to the hot weather Miami always have. Then we ordered three plates: the ever popular guacaole (mild), chicken flautas and the Queso fundido. I was watching how the guacamole was being prepared and it is really interesting on how all the ingredients come together in a moment's notice. Served with taco chips, some soft tortillas and 3 salsas made this experience great. Our server David was also helpful as he always cared on how my table was doing. Next the chicken flautas or the rolled crispy chicken tacos topped with cheese were a bit dry but great as we were both very hungry. Lastly, the queso fundido made a great accompaniment with the guacamole. We couldn't even finish the guacamole as we left 10% of it in the bowl. We ate so much but we were satisfied. We sat inside the bar area at at the beginning of our meal there weren't many people inside but when we were almost finished people were starting to come in. We had a great experience and definitely I will come back for more!

If you are into small overpriced under seasoned food, well then have I found the place for you. Absolutely the worst Mexican ever! Ok maybe a slight exaggeration however since when do tacos come with nothing but meat in them? We nearly had to beg our waiter for some lettuce and cheese for our sons tacos, I had the chicken skillet which came out lukewarm and the chicken tasteless. The only good things to say about this place was the guacamole which was very tasty and the drinks while small were very good. If you want anything other than appetizers and drinks please do yourself a favor and avoid this place!

I want to love this place. I really do. But the service is a l w a y s s o s l o w. And, it's honestly expensive for what you get. None the less, it's one of your better options in Miami if you're looking for some delicious Mexican munchies and a nice margarita.

A friend and I swung into Rosa Mexicano after dinner in the Oceanaire in Mary Brickell Village to continue conversation and have some dessert. As it was a bit later on a Monday, we were able to snag a table outside on Miami Avenue so we could people watch and enjoy the wonderful weather. The server was quite helpful and "talked us into" a pitcher of sangria. It was absolutely delightful! Some of the best sangria I've had, and unlike some other establishments, they don't try to skimp you on the pitcher. The two of us had difficulty finishing it, which is saying something. But don't fret - we persevered! The churros, on the other hand, were not good in the slightest. They were way overdone and the dipping sauces uninspired. I enjoyed the decor and the bar area was really nice. The bathrooms were also clean and the ambiance inside and out welcoming. I'll definitely be back to try their dinner menu next time I'm in town.

Love their guacamole and traditional margaritas! Seriously the best guacamole I have ever had. They have happy hour deals during the week for drinks and small bites. A great place to head after work and relax.

I went to Rosa Mexicano in DC years ago so when i was in Miami for a work conference this past week and a few of my colleagues suggested we try it for dinner I was curious to go back. We ate on the patio which I highly recommend as the people watching is unreal. Our waitress was very patient with a group of 4 women who took up her table for well over 3 hours (we ordered plenty of drinks though!) and I appreciate her patience with us. The food on the other hand really lacked for me. I had one of those dreaded restaurant experiences where I wasn't excited about anything on the menu- not a thing. We ended up doing a hodge podge of happy hour food specials and a few entrees and while the food wasn't terrible it just wasn't stellar. I've had better, creative mexican style dishes and Rosa Mexicano didn't deliver. So if you want a place to drink, people watch on the patio and chat with friends then I think this is your place. As for the food - meh, I've experienced better.

Love the menu here but this specific location is a hit or miss. The last two times they have given me stale chips but after I requested, they replaced. Then the manager named Patrick, was very rude. I'm Not sure how long he's been with the company but if your at the font seating people, you should set an example for you staff and be polite! Ridiculous!! He's the main reason why the 2 stars. I'd like to know when he's not working so I can come in then.

Great upscale Mexican place, in a great location. My favorite thing here obviously has to be the fresh guacamole prepared right in front of you. Only thing is I wish they had a bit more of, would be variety in the entree menu.

I've been on a Mexican kick lately, so during a recent evening in Brickell we chose to check out Rosa Mexicano after hearing about it for a while. Waited at the bar for our table and tried a variety of margaritas. I don't trust a margarita not served in a margarita glass because it detracts from the festiveness, but the margaritas were still good (even if kinda small). The guacamole was great. It's very entertaining to watch them prepare it tableside, sometimes at record speed. It comes with teeny tortillas, which are ingenious! I could've probably stopped at that, because it was extra late and I had a late lunch... but I went for the chicken taquitos appetizer as my entree. I should preface this by saying I don't like spicy food. As in, sometimes "mild" is not mild enough for me. So these chicken taquitos should've come with a warning label for me!!! They were smothered in some salsas that were just too much for me. We also ordered a pitcher of the Sangria Brillante - which included some sparkling stuff and some raspberry stuff... and several glasses later, we were very happy to find out we got our money's worth. Overall, a good experience (although that's the most I've ever paid for guac - $14 for 2ppl).

*** 2 1/2 stars *** Not. That. Impressed. I've heard great things about Rosa Mexicano, but am now convinced that its been mostly hype. I went here this past Saturday at about 11pm after a show at Adrienne Arsht. It was rainy, windy and worst of all my first restaurant choice that night, Cvi.Che 105, closes at 11pm on Saturdays. So lets begin... First of all, having just come from a great show- the table-side prepared Guacamole "show" wasn't worth the $14 dollars. The avocado wasn't nearly ripe enough and couldn't be smashed into true guacamole, as we were left with slightly mushed and diced guacamole in our bowl. It was also flavorless which is evidence of the non-ripe avocado as well. We ordered the Chicken enchiladas which are served with a Creamy Tomatillo sauce and the Steak Tacos. The presentation of the steak tacos is much better then the meal itself. The Chicken Enchiladas were actually quite tasty due to the Tomatillo Sauce. I knew going into Rosa Mexicano that we would be spending some $$, however when it comes to Mexican food if you are spending $70+ it better be damn good mexican and really Rosa Mexicano was anything but.

A good place for drinks and appetizers, but I wouldn't recommend dinners here. The portions are very small and the food quality is average. The sangria and tableside guacamole were the highlights of the meal, but I wish we would have stopped there. The tacos were tiny and flavourless, and we paid over $15 for each plate. Overall, I find this restaurant extremely overpriced and overrated. There are far better restaurants in Brickell with much higher quality food for the same cost.

The only thing that deserved 1/2 a star is the guacamole. Of four entrees my party ordered, only one was edible, and it was very, very bland. I brought a friend from out of town who was in the mood for Mexican. This place was such a disappointment. Of all the good food in the downtown/Brickell area, I am quite sure we picked the worst place to eat. I won't be back, not even for drinks.

    (1)
  • Diego D.

Easily the worst, most watered down sangria i've ever had, and unfortunately i've been here more than once and it was bad every time. Service is poor and the food is over priced for the quality. There are much better mexican gourmet places in design district.

HAPPY HOUR ONLY. been here twice for happy hour. the food is ok, but the prices are outrageous and the plates are small. the drinks have a great prices until 7pm, but I have a pregnant illness right now so couldn't enjoy their best offer. the service was a little slow to take orders and then there is another server/busboy that was obsessed with clearing the table and that drove me insane. I like to eat all my food and they are constantly trying to clear the table even if you have food left. the crab empanadas and the re-fried beans were the best. i've had the guac before and also love it. there's just a ton of places that you can get descent food and atmosphere for less money and not the mention the parking in this area blows. miami is too big for me to choose this place unless I live in the area and can walk to it, which I don't.

I loved Rosa Mexicano. The service is superb. Our server chatted with us and was very attentive to our every need. The food was good as well. I had the Budin which was like a chicken lasagna but oh so much better. I know it was a quality meal because I didn't have that heavy fullness feeling I get from places like Chili's.

For all my love of Rosa Mexicano, I haven't been able to make it back there till recently. And I gotta say, I was kinda disappointed this time around. I came for an early dinner with some colleagues recently, and was pretty surprised that there were so many empty tables in the dining room. The bar and patio area were packed though, which I later found out was a testament to their 2-for-1 drink specials. Even though we were one of the first tables seated, the tables surrounding us came and went while we were waiting for our waiter to return. There was quite a delay in pretty much every step of our meal, except for our waiter's insistence that we get the guacamole, drinks, and dessert. Granted, our arms weren't that hard to twist, but still - chill out, waiter man. The guac was delicious, as per usual. The drinks were yummy and strong. I opted to try the La Pinela margarita, made with cinnamon. It was sooo good!! None of us was really impressed with our entrees though. I had the mole de xico (beef enchiladas), and while I raved about it in my original review, this time around, I thought it was pretty lackluster. One of my colleagues got the chicken tacos al asador, and described them as pretty tasteless. My other colleague ordered the veggie enchiladas, and thought they were pretty good. For dessert we had the churros to split amongst us, and they were good - hot from the fryer, with a selection of 3 dipping sauces. The Mexican chocolate was pretty blah, the raspberry was good, but the caramel stole the show - it was rich and dark. Yum and yum. Rosa Mexicano is doing Miami Spice, but none of us were itching for a three-course meal, so we shied away. But definitely something to keep in mind for next time, though with the added cost of a drink, that can easily add up to $50+ per person.

Undoubtedly, this is the best Mexican food in Brickell/Downtown Miami. Its traditional "rancho" style decor is reminiscent of those you see in Mexico. And the service was courteous, punctual, funny and friendly. To start with, we had what everyone does: the guacamole. The explosion of flavors you feel in your mouth is unbelievable. You can taste the lemon, the tomatoes and all the richness of its onions. As part of its "favoritos" section of the menu, I ordered the Budin de Pollo, an amalgamation of soft corn tortillas filled with pulled chicken, Chihuahua cheese, corn and roasted peppers - served with rice and refried black beans. It's a highly original and special dish. Without a doubt, I would order this again! Don't think it about twice - go to Rosa Mexicano!

This place has a nice happy hour but dinner prices seem a little high. Since I've only been for happy hour I have only sampled a few of their dishes but everything was delicious. Their drinks are top notch and the restaurant is beautiful. I've enjoyed quite a few evenings there with friends and family over a few pitchers of sangria. Look forward to going back soon

Went here for dinner with 2 friends before we went out for drinks on Brickell. Service was terrible, our waiter was very cocky and tried to make us seem cheap or not good enough for the place. He took forever bringing my drinks/refills. When my food arrived, I asked for some sauce or salsa, and the dude never brought it. He then never checked on our table the rest of the night. I had to flag down somebody to catch his attention to bring our check. At that point we did not want to continue our business there and eat dessert. When the waiter brought the check, he walked by the table and slammed the check on the table and kept walking. He didn't bother to say "thank you" or nothing. I'm sure he enjoyed his tip... On the way out, no "thank you, have a great day" or any type of greeting from the hostess. It's a shame, the food was very good, overpriced for the service we received. Will not return. I rather go to Mercadito!

Wondering where to eat after an amazing Yelp Event to which we unfortunately arrived late so we missed the food, and were FAMISHED we decided to try it out. My husband had dined in the Cancun one on a business trip and I had tried the Guacamole at Zo's Summer Groove at the Doral Golf Resort where they were handing out bowls of it with chips at the 9th hole of the Gold course. I had not forgotten how amazing it was and wanted to try it out in the actual restaurant. Rosa Mexicano I have thought was an odd name. One would think its Rosa Mexicana.. referring to the flower. My hubby explained that when he asked the same thing in Cun that they told him it referred to the COLOR pink (El COLOR Rosa Mexicano as opposed to La FLOR Rosa Mexicana) OK.. cool. L'il bit of trivia. So.. lets start with Decor, vibrant, sexy and I love their wall of divers. Very cool. Service? Excellent. When I asked my server what was in one of the salsas and he told me, I knew there was SOMETHING else in it and couldn't put my finger on it and told him so. He immediately told me he would ask the chef. He immediately did and it was Allspice. Anywhere else he would have shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I was impressed at the 5 star service. Food: The Guacamole is made to order right at your table, and yes it was as delicious as I had remembered! SCORE. It was amazing! I could have just had 2 bowls of it and left happy! I ordered the tortilla soup, and the flautas - both appetizers. I wanted variety. Honestly I didn't like the soup, my hubby however did. It was a very smokey soup I would have preferred some veggies or more tortillas in it to break the intense flavor. I was hoping for something more like what you get at Wings in Mexico. The flautas were to die for!! YUMMMMMM So we shared everything, and my hubby ordered the steak tacos. which also were delicious. The cilantro rice that came with it? I took it all! I stole the steak and mixed it with the rice .. ohhh heaven. So, 3 appetizers and one entree later we couldn't even think about dessert. And we are healthy eaters. So that is saying a lot. What I love about their food is that it is TASTY.. if you like subtle flavors this is NOT the place for you. If you like different flavors BURSTING in your mouth with a melody of taste - yes please come!

Obviously this is an upscale version of Mexican food. I doubt you will find actual dishes costing $20 in Mexico or at those mom and pop shops in Miami. But, we're in Mary Brickell Village so obviously, you have cash to splurge. Come here for the ambiance, guacamole, and drinks. The food is good too (though on the expensive side). The margaritas / mojitos are good. The guacamole is pretty awesome; order it spicy. It's not really that spicy but it gives it better flavor. I believe there were bacon pieces too in the guacamole, which is an added bonus. I got the short ribs which was excellent. Soft, tender, smoked, and flavorful. Plus, it was boneless which is another plus. Score! The portions come big too which justified the price. For dessert, we were recommended the blueberry / lemon cake. The waitress said it was "to die for" but, I think it's worth saving your life. It was good but perhaps over hyped. Come here for the ambiance because it's a nice play to catch up with friends. Not too loud and the atmosphere is chilled. Service was attentive, despite how busy it can get during the weekends.

In my previous lifetime, I spent a lot of time in Mexico and grew to love their food and their people. When we stumbled upon this place, all these memories came rushing back to my mind, so the expectation was high. Rosa Mexicano did not disappoint, we found their food to be quite authentic with a bit of an international touch to make it appealing and palatable across the board. Their service was spot on good ! and we enjoyed every bit of our meal and our dining experience. Good menu, excellent guacamole, loved their service and their overall ambiance closes the circle to make you feel good throughout your meal and your experience. Definitely recommend this place for good Mexican fare and a good time !

I've been to Rosa Mexicano for both lunch and dinner several times...I even tried them out again for Miami Spice last year. I have to say I've never been a huge fan of their food, but their guacamole is wonderful! I think Rosa is best for enjoying an appetizer at the bar before a night out on the town, and that's exactly what I did with a friend on Friday night. We got there around 9:30 PM and had to wait some time for a place at the bar. Once we were seated however, we had our guac and beverages in no time. Rosa is a great local spot for drinks and appetizers. I'll definitely be visiting their bar again soon.

This was a close call! We got there right before happy hour was finishing at 7pm, made our way to the bar and were ready to order our margaritas. We were on a mission. Unfortunately the bartenders did not get the memo. We were not going down with that ship so we got their attention and made it by a hair! After this our service was great. $4.50 margaritas and $5 appetizers! We were happy campers. :-)

So I came to Rosa Mexicano about 2 months ago with a couple of my girlfriends. I had been wanting to try it for a while, despite the mediocre things I had heard about it; but we were in the area and figured why not. The service was not bad at all, we had a very nice attentive waiter but the food was just such a letdown.... We started off by ordering some margaritas, they were ok, wasn't an out of this world cocktail or anything. Then we ordered the guacamole that everyone raves about because it's made right in front of you and it's so fresh and blah blah. Yes, our waiter did put on a nice little presentation and it was pretty cool to watch him make it but it was by no means the best guac of my life, it was kinda lacking flavor. I find the guac at Lime to be waaaaaaaaay better than this one. Then we decided to order the empanada crab turnovers, they were tragic. Three tiny, brown, greasy and filled with maybe 1/4 teaspoon of crabmeat "empanadas." Next was the ceviche trio sampler, again super small portion and nothing to write home about. I honestly can't remember the last thing we tried so clearly it wasn't memorable but I know I wasn't too crazy about that dish either. We choose to skip out on dessert for obvious reasons. All in all, RM was a fail. If you like to spend a lot of money on crappy food and leave semi hungry then by all means, go for it. But I think I'll pass from dining here again.

This was a pleasant surprise. especially after reading the negative reviews. My girlfriend and I still decided to give it a try. Our experience might have been different because it was a thursday night and it wasnt as busy compared to weekends, but we enjoyed our evening regardless. SERVICE: Our waiter (Juan) was VERY knowledgeable with the menu, attentive, courteous, overall he provided excellent service. AMBIANCE: It had a loungy feel to it, not loud, but still enough people around to make the restaurant feel alive. I liked it. FOOD: delicious!! Ordered the guac as an appetizer and enjoyed the little show while it was getting prepared in front of us. came along with chips and fresh hand-made little tortillas. We ordered the Filet tacos and Scallop tacos. they came in nicely presented, flavorful and they were just awesome, especially the Filet. damn! We topped it off with a flan and left satisfied with our bellies full. Mind you im very critical of the restaurants i go to. I dont just easily throw around 4-5 stars on a place. Again my experience here was great. Maybe their management have been reading the bad reviews and have taken action to improve or it could be something else. Also, a night out in Rosa Mex can be on the pricey side, like most other places in Brickell, but well worth it if you ask me. All i know is i left impressed.

This is becoming a pet peeve of mine (see my review of Zocala Mexican Grill in Cleveland): When I complain to the waiter that the cake in the desert was stale, and he just shrugs, and so I mention it to the restaurant manager, and he does nothing about it, understand that you are saying, "We are not interested in you EVER returning to our restaurant." Which is a shame, as I'm here on business for two weeks, on an expense account, I love Mexican food, and your restaurant is a convenient walk from my hotel.

A little overpriced for mexican, but they hook you in with the guacamole which is made right in front of your table. The tacos are great and I definitely recommend getting the carnitas which is spicy with quite a tang.

Came for lunch and walked away happy. Great service and good food. I can see how as it fills up some of the quality could fade. My sense of pricing has been tainted by living in Alaska, this seemed reasonable (you get far worse for more in Anchorage). We had the guacamole, the beef enchiladas in corn mole, and the Mexican club sandwich. Combined with the rice and beans there's another meal in leftovers.

First off, I must say, the guacamole and salsa are the BEST I've tasted. And please trust me coming from a Mexican cuisine lover. The salsa was so good that I ordered some to go. The guacamole is prepared tabledside, so it's sure to be fresh every time. Although I would not consider this authentic Mexican food, I did enjoy my dining experience and the food was quite tasty. Service was above average, and the ambiance is relaxed & chic with seating inside and outdoors. Also, you might want to make reservations just as we did just to be safe. I ordered the Carne Asada/Steak and hubby ordered steak & shrimp stew...both dishes were very tasty. But, please note that when they say spicy, they mean SPICY! My husband's dish was so spicy, that sweat was dripping from his face...no lie (but that's how he likes his food). My dish was perfect. Note that the place is pricey, and the portions are small compared to the tradition family size portions at most Mexican restaurants. But all in all, I had a great dining experience, and I will go back...especially for the salsa!

This place makes the best guacamole. Went with with a group on a Saturday night and had a great time. We also had the queso fundido which was decent. For dinner, I had the carne asada tacos. The beef was very tasty and tender.

Drinks were amazing, and GUAC was phenomenal. But the entrees, were simply... crap. I've had better in little wholes in the wall, for less than half the price.

We went for lunch on 03/27/2013 a party of 5.The chef does not know how to cook a medium rare burger, furthermore, they took so looooong to serve us that the food was served at room temperature. Food Service was awful there is a problem in the kitchen they need to address. I work adjacent to this restaurant and frequent all eateries near by. I am very disappointed!!!!!

I went here for the second time and this time I took my boyfriend and fellow Yelper Vanessa P. and her boyfriend. Let me just say OpenTable integration with the Yelp App = WINNING! Only thing that I was upset about was that we noted we wanted a booth and they sat us no where near a booth. (-1) point for that.... Our waiter was very friendly and helpful with our drink selection and menu. One Margarita PLEASE! We started off with the Guacamole which of course was DELISH. Perfect amount of onions, jalapeno, tomatoes and seasoning to make it just right the only thing I would add and it's just a personal preference is lime juice :) Other then that it was YUM YUM YUM! We also got a Queso Fundido / Melted Cheese Fondue dish that was to die for. If you love cheese, try this dish - comes with tortillas and is just mouth watering good. For Dinner I decided to get the same thing I got last time, because I had been craving it since the last time I was here. I got the Chamorro / Pork Shank - Crispy marinated pork shank served with red bean-chorizo chili and chipotle creamed spinach. and everyone tried it and everyone LOVED it. The outside was a little salty but once you got into the meat it was a party in your mouth. This dish comes with black re-fried beans and rice and tortillas to share with the table. My boyfriend got the Mole Xico / Beef - Two soft corn tortillas filled with shredded chipotle beef, topped with Veracruz mole made with raisins, plantains, hazelnuts, pine nuts and ancho and pasilla chiles. Garnished with crema and queso fresco. This dish was good, but definitely not one of our favorites, so next time we will get something different. Vanessa P. got the Chiles Rellenos de Borrego / Lamb Stuffed Chiles Two ancho chiles filled with slow-cooked tender lamb shoulder and cabbage, served over a traditional green pumpkin seed pipián sauce. This dish I was uncertain about because I wasn't sure I would like the taste of the Chiles but it was absolutely delish. I think her boyfriend got the Filete con Hongos*/ Filet Mignon with Wild Mushrooms Filet mignon covered with a wild mushroom-tequila cream sauce. - I didn't get to try it but everyone else said it was one of their favorites on our table. All in all, the entire dinner was GREAT. Sorry so long but we had a lot to eat, and our stomachs left VERY Satisfied. xo, kristin nicole

I've heard so many good things about this place and I gotta say... it wasn't great. I mean I wasn't disgusted or anything but I wasn't really happy. We of course got the guacamole cuz they make it at the table and it's so good, etc. It was pretty good... I didn't even watch the guy make it -- I couldn't have cared less. And the guy making it clearly wanted to be anywhere but there. We got our food and I was expecting a lot more for the price... I ordered the steak tacos. We got a tiny bowl of rice and beans for the table (5 of us) and I got like 5 slices of steak on cheese (the cheese was actually really delicious), some more smoked bean stuff, hot sauce and this creamy corn stuff. I mean, the steak was pretty good and so was the cheese but I paid $18.50 for tiny steak tacos. The tortillas are TINY which makes it very difficult to make the tacos. I actually liked that the portions were fairly small -- they were the perfect amount. I didn't feel too full or anything. But it didn't taste good enough that I felt ok paying so much. I just felt like this place was hugely overpriced for what we got... and the service really didn't make up for any of it.

I like this Rosa Mexicano, and I have been here twice for yummy meals. But let me make it clear that I didn't pay either time, and I think that is why I never go back (even though it is about a 5 minute walk from my apt). The food is very expensive. The capitalist side of me can understand the reasoning behind 'upscale' mexican food, but my wallet can't wrap it's head around the concept. When you turn the lights off it's all just covered in cheese and sauce! I will say that during my free meals I enjoyed the guac (of course), the sangrias, some sort of snapper dish, and whatever else we had (more sangria, among other things). If I'm paying, I'll go to Paquitos in North Miami for lunch. Arrrriba!

Dont even bother walking in the door..its really a shame because rosa mexicana in NY is pretty good... . the staff in Miami "not so nice" and everyone rants and raves about the guacamole... but honestly speaking it was really crappy... The guacamole that I can crank out of my kitchen is 1 million X better...

When this place first opened, my office was still on Brickell so I went as often as possible--I was clearly Mexican in a past life and am a sucker for guacamole. A friend was in town and so we all decided to grab dinner on Sunday night. BUT, trying to find a place on a Sunday evening that was a) open and b) "kid-friendly" was nearly impossible for me. Knowing what is "kid-friendly" is a little like trying to read Russian without any lessons for me. The mom of the baby said this was a good choice for her. Overall, the food is good--nothing is great or mouth watering, but it is consistently good. The guacamole was average this time around; we ordered it medium and I was looking for hot sauce and a salt shaker to spice it up. The service was forgettable, which actually isn't a complaint in Miami. Will I go again? Sure. Will this be my choice spot? Probably not.

Ok. Just ok. The service was just ok. The soda was flat with a city water aftertaste. The steak tacos were great, but extremely pricey for the size and quality. Chips were stale. Salsas were weird... I wouldn't recommend this place.

Bad Mexican food is that simple (with the exception of Guacamole and few of their drinks) Food tastes like cardboard. Not to mention the prices, Office Depot sells cheaper cardboard. Don't waste your money.

I dream about their pomegranate margaritas and guacamole!!! So many great menu items! I have tried almost everything on the menu and love it all. On the lighter side I love the ceviches and seafood entree's. Also the veggie tacos are amazing!! When I want comfort food I go for the Mexican cheese fondue or pork belly nachos (OMG, my mouth is watering!!) and something decadent like the short rib entre. Favorite desert is the espresso flan! mmmmmm! I love the convenient downtown location.

I know that Mexican restaurants differ in taste and ingredients due to the region they are coming from. I am not quite sure of the region represented of Rosa, but I think that overall its a medley and their focus is more on creativity and sophistication. Overall it was a well-prepared meal, but I think it could use a little character, something that makes the environment feel authentic instead of a Mexican-themed establishment. My Stars go to: #1- The Guacamole.....Incredible! I love the station they bring to your table- fresh ingredients, and as spicy as you want it to be....I had fun making little "guac-tacos"- I'd come back here just for the guac! #2- The Tortillas...We had the opportunity to sit near the station where a lady was popping out these from scratch, and right onto our plates- Yum! #3- The drink menu- They know their Tequilas, Margaritas and specialty drinks- They have some great creations that left me in a Mariachi state of mind. My favorite: The Pepino Picante-With muddled cucumbers, habanero-lime simple syrup and gin, it's a sweet, refreshing libation, and at the end it's got a bite. I love that! The Tortilla soup was different from what I have had before, and I think because they used smoked chiles. It was a bit on the salty side but it had all the traditional ingredients that I ended up eating instead of the broth. The Steak fajitas are on point. Succulent strips of beef on a bed of warm cheese and fresh Mexican creamed corn on the side. Delish! Their salsas are amazing as well. I tried the tomatillo (my fav), fresh chile verde (super light with fresh cilantro), chipotle (on the smoky side) and I used them on everything! I really love spicy stuff so this was right up my alley. I'm usually not one to go to a Mexican restaurant, because most of the items I could easily make at home, or Mama can make it when I go visit, but hey, when you are up for a well prepared Mexican meal with high quality ingredients, this is a great place to consider.

Had lunch here today and it was good, not spectacular. The only other time I've eaten at a Rosa Mexicano was in Atlanta and fortunately didn't have to pay for it then because I remember it being quite expensive. Lunch prices aren't too bad. We started with the guacamole prepared tableside. It was perfect and the chips had just the right amount of salt. I had the carne tacos, which were good, except I had to avoid looking at the plate with the steak in it since the meat was swimming in grease. Friend had the chicken tacos and she said it was really good. Our server disappeared and we had to ask the guy who had made our guacamole for the bill at the end of the meal. Good option in Brickell.

Came by for a casual lunch on Saturday. Our waiter forgot to mention that they offered a Miami Spice menu! We skipped the Guacamole because I swear by El Vato's down the block. I had the Beef Enchiladas... Holy Mole were they good (and really spicy) They were supposed to bring hazelnuts and pinenuts but I didn't see or taste any. The dish was excellent regardless. For dessert we shared the flan/brownie concoction. Simply amazing! Will definitely be coming back soon!

This place was GREAT!! This was on the company dime so my co-workers and I rolled over to Rosa based on a *Branch Recommendation* (these are like gold to me--nothing like the locals to steer you in the right direction!) The first thing that struck me was the bright, vibrant colors--not overwhelming but decidedly Miami. I spotted the tortillas station and felt warm inside (food from scratch--yes!) The table decided to get the (double!) Guacamole en Molcajete and a pitcher of sangria to get things started (they almost passed out when the bill came out for THAT lil' move--but more on that later). There is nothing like food made tableside to make people happy. Given the way they HOUSED the bowl of guac(I blinked and that thing was bone dry) completed with guttural affirmations, I concluded all was well. The Pico de Gallo was my choice and along with the freshly fried chips (I'm on my way to the gym as soon as I finish yelping), Rosa was turning out to be a great choice. The food and wait service were wonderful (suggestion: go during the week, early evening) and they were very accommodating to our varied substitutions/changes. -Salmon en Manchamanteles (this was my second choice but I opted for...) -Ranchera Enchiladas (I loved this--simple but excellent) -Alambre a la Mexicana (the serrano peppers almost claimed another victim in one of my co-workers! loll) -Plantains -Rice and beans To top the great meal off, we went for it and ordered the Churros w/ three dessert sauces (Cranberry, caramel, chocolate) ---ridiculously good (To the point you get angry--"why are they trying to make me OD on this food? This will just get ugly") When the bill came, the co-workers went into shock over the $25 (!!!!!) DOUBLE guac and the $40 (!!!!!) pitcher of sangria--the rest of the meal was *very* affordable but be careful of ordering what 'sounds good' without looking @ the flippin menu! :D I would come back in a heartbeat

Ugh. I do not recommend this place. Mediocre service and food at best. I gave it 2 stars as opposed to just 1 because of the guacamole and steak tacos (which were just OK but not terrible).

So the service here was a real trip and we were so wasted that night I can't recall how all of this went down but I do remember a few things: Our table took about 40 minutes to an hour but I can't recall I started off with a tecate and lime and salt... There were 6 of us Tony's wife slapped my hand because I was eating up the guac We complained so much that the manager personally prepared our second guac bowl And the bill came out to be less than 80 bucks! Great spot, one of the best of locations I've been to.

Went to this Restaurant last week 9/17, it was my 2nd time to this restaurant and the only reason why I visited was to give them a 2nd chance.. I hear from tons of people how great their Guacamole is... The first time, I had the server take it back (no flavor whatsoever) and this time, it was a bit more, but still wasn't all that! You want GREAT consistent Guacamole, go to Cheen Huaye. Drinks: We ordered the Sangria de Rosa Mexicano (Wine wine, apricot brandy, triple sec, fresh orange juice)... A little bit on the light side, but really good and definitely worth the price tag. Food: We both ordered the "Filete de Hongos", if you read the description of this dish, it says.. (Filet Mignon covered with a Wild Mushroom-tequila cream sauce). No indicator of how SPICY this dish is... All other items have either a 2 or 3 chili pepper indicator. We had to remove the sauce from the Filet Mignon in order to tolerate the steak. The steak tenderness was magnificent, but the dish was just TOO spicy to even taste it and definitely not worth the price tag. Being my 2nd time to this restaurant and both times not really getting out of there with a good impression, I won't come back to this establishment for FOOD. I might go in and order the "Sangria" again, but I rather eat someplace else.

I went to dinner with my boyfriend and another couple. We enjoy fine food and travel plenty, so we are not picky eaters and recognize a well prepared meal. I will first start off by saying that the guacamole was delicious! The service was great. The ambiance was really modern and cool. However, I was extremely disappointed by their food. The portions were very small and the taste was simply NOT good. I had the duck tacos and it resembled more like pulled pork with some strange mushy toppings which was difficult to decider the ingredients. Too sweet and too salty. The "taco shell" was a tiny corn tortilla - about the size of a palm of a toddlers hand. There was no cabbage, or lettuce, or fresh tomatoes. Worst taco ever. My boyfriend had the carne enchiladas with mole sauce. He said that the mole sauce was good but there was hardly any meat. I did notice that each enchilada was probably about the size of a Taco Bell "Mexi Melt". However, Taco Bell would have been a MUCH better choice for food. Our friends had the cheese enchiladas which were just as tiny and buried under a layer of cheese sauce. Since the portions were so small, we decided to have dessert. We ordered the Tres Leches with blackberry purée over the top. It was ok. The sauce over powered the flavor of the Tres Leches. We also ordered a "cortadito" (shot of espresso with shot of milk) and it was awful. It was very watered down. I guess I could let the cortadito pass since it was not a Cuban restaurant...my bad. However, it's safe to say that we will not be returning to this restaurant.

I like this place but don't love it. For some reason, I've been here 4 times and every time it's been for a business meeting (which the clients always pays for) and I'm ok with that. I doubt I'll ever go here and spend my own money here. It's a bit overpriced, the food is good but nothing to rave about and the service is always slow.

I'm very picky when it comes to Mexican food because it's by far, my most favorite Latin cuisine to eat! I am originally from Texas where authentic Mexican is around every corner, but for whatever the reason, it's difficult for me to find tons of great spots here in Florida. The guacamole here is freshly made- and big portions of it! It includes the perfect amount of all ingredients (including cilantro.) Rosa is one of my favorite spots for this chips and dip specialty. The sangria pitchers here are perfect for happy hour and so delicious! I also highly recommend the queso fundido appetizer, which I sometimes eat as a full dinner! I personally like the cheese and chicken enchiladas, but all of the meals I've tasted are delicious here!

Big, stylish and not too friendly on the wallet would be my one sentence summary of Rosa Mexicano. That sentence doesn't even mention the food, which might strike you as problematic. I guess to me the food was almost incidental to the place. Don't get me wrong, the food was plenty good. I can't comment on it's authenticity, but it was well prepared and tasty. Is it worth the cost? Not for the food alone, but overall I think the place has the style and atmosphere to justify what they're charging. Come for the atmosphere, appreciate the food. Except the guacamole. Holy crap what a rip off. Not that there's anything wrong with their guacamole, but it's simple dish. Why does guacamole taste so good? Because avocado are full of FAT and thus delicious. But $14 to take a $1 avocado and mash it up in front of me? Go fuck yourself. I don't know why places act like making the guacamole in front of you is supposed to be so impressive. It's just a great reminder of how simple it is, and how they're robbing you with their prices. Still, had me a tasty margarita, some tasty food and jumping place all around me. And I wasn't paying, so I didn't have too much to complain about. Except the waiter. Really great at first, personable and present. But once the orders were in the guy was done with us. Hey, maybe I want more than one $12 cocktail. You're really shooting yourself in the foot by not offering me more of those. I would probably go three and a half because of this last detail, but alas, I cannot. So I guess my overall good vibe remains.

I was struggling - do I give this place 2 or 3 stars. I would give them 2.5, but that's not an option. Anyway, the place is adequate, but I left unimpressed. There are a lot of better choices. 1) I am used to the idea of complimentaray chips and salsa. I would not even mind if there was a small charge for them. Having them on the table makes me feel that I am in a Mexican restaurant. Besides, by tasting the salsa I can tell how good the place actually is. 2) Portions are adequate in size, but the prices are quite high for a Mexican restaurant. 3) Presentation is very good. I had steak, and it was cooked well, however the Chihuahua cheese for some reason was neither melted on top of it, nor on the side, but underneath, and mostly was stuck to the mini griddle thing in which the whole thing was served. 4) Service was EXTREMELY slow, even though the place was nearly empty. 5) Interior decoration was OK, but not that great either. So, for good (and real!) Mexican food there are much better choices. For a good meal in downtown there are much better choices. To be fair, I have tried several places that tried to be upscale Mexican, and neither made me come back, this place is no exception.

I am from Chicago, where we have a very strong Mexican restaurant presence. If you are looking for a burrito dinner type of place, this isn't it. While I found it a little more difficult to navigate the menu here, I ended up getting some Tortilla Soup, which was very different and EXCELLENT. Great flavors, different from anything I have had in Chicago. Followed the soup up with the Steak Tacos. Let me say, some of the best "steak tacos" I have ever had, albeit not really steak tacos at all. The platter came out with Creamed Corn, Chili, Steak, Salsa and a bowl of beans and rice on the side along with fresh corn tortillas to makes your own tacos. Needless to say, I ate every crumb and could barely breathe afterward. What was slightly disappointing was the service. Looking around for water, diet coke glass filled with water by accident, of course, but still. In my book, a place with food this good and inventive should have the service to back it up. The decor was nice as were all employees, just wish the table service was a little stronger... if that were the case, I would have given 4 stars. We will still be back next year as it is nice and close.

I have heard mixed reviews about this place, so I waited a while to try it. But I can honestly say that it was fabulous. I had the fish tacos; amazing presentation. The mahi fillet comes in a mini skillet topped with pickled red onions, and alongside it they serve black beans, a spicy salsita, and what i believe were some gourmet version of esquites, corn in a sort of mayo. The corn tortillas come on the side, kept warm for perfect taco-making. The fish was perfectly seasoned, and the sauces/toppings all complemented it perfectly. The tables are a little bare; not even a napkin or coaster for your drink, nor a tablecloth. The service was a little above average; the server made sure our glasses were never empty. They have a guacamole cart; if you order their guacamole molcajete, a gentleman rolls the cart to your table and makes the guacamole right there with fresh avocados, peppers, tomatoes, and lime juice. The freshest guac you'll find in any restaurant, and it was amazing!!

Honestly, I cannot stand Rosa Mexicano for the life of me. I've been here on two occasions and neither of which were pleasant experiences. First time I came here, I ordered enchiladas; thus far, it has been what may be the only time I have ordered food and deemed it inedible. Any redeeming dishes were negated by obscene prices ($7.50 for 4 churros?Seriously?) Second time I came here, I just stuck with a margarita. Way too sweet, barely any tequila and enough salt to fill a shaker. Took the waiter 30 minutes to give us the check. Stick to Mercadito for your overpriced mexican fixes.

Serving a full menu of authentic yet modern Mexican dishes, Rosa Mexicano has always been my favorite Mexican restaurant since before opening its doors here in Miami. With their pomegranate margaritas, fresh guacamole prepared table side and a menu that offers something for everyone this place offers a festive dining experience. Make sure to make reservations early, this place gets crowded almost every night specially on the weekends.

This, to me, is a Mexican "Cheesecake Factory." I'll explain why: 1) nice "chain" atmosphere, 2) mass-produced food, and 3) good quality ingredients. See? It's not necessarily bad, but if you're looking for down-to-scratch Mexican, made by an excellent chef, this place isn't for you. But if you're looking for a good time with good service in a nice atmosphere while also expecting authentic Mexican fare (although not the best), this place can be for you. I had three appetizers: 1) flautas de pollo, 2) panuchos de cochinita, and 3) the famed guacamole en molcajete. All were of small portions of 3, except for the guacamole which serves two. The flautas de pollo topped with salsa pasilla de Oaxaca , salsa verde and crema was spicy (level Medium), that I had to take a breath before I had each bite. But it was tasty and good. I was surprised though, it was brought out in less than 2 minutes, all with a nice presentation, after placing the order (probably this dish is mass-produced. ($8.50) The panuchos de cochinita (filled with pulled chicken, chorizo sausage and red beans, topped with Mole de Xico) unfortunately tasted dried. ($7.50) The guacamole en molcajete was the star of the entire dinner - made fresh tableside and to your taste. Ours were mild, so the waiter held off the spiciness for our sakes. But watch carefully, the preparation is pretty quick and the show doesn't last long at all. ($12.00 per order, serves two). For the entree, I had the tacos al asador (de pollo). It came cilantro rice and refried black beans. The chicken was topped with pepper and was in a skillet filled with melted Chihuahua cheese. You have to make these tacos yourself, as if it was a fajitas dish. While you get small freshly made corn tortillas for the tacos, the chicken was not large. You can probably have four small-sized tacos out of what you're served with. To my disappointment though, the sliced chicken tasted dried. ($15.50) For dessert, I had the tres leches de la casa, as it was recommended by the waiter. It was a nice surprise, as the presentation was really "out of the world" for the tres leches - it looked like it became a frothy porcupine! The meregine was unusual - there was a lime flavor. It was also surrounded by condensed milk or cream with the same lime flavor (the menu called it "lime natilla") and also with chopped mango salsa for garnish (it tasted good with the tres leches). As for the tres leches itself, the "cake" was not very moist. ($6.25) I also had a Rosadito to drink, and I must say that it was tasty. It has horchata as one of the ingredients, and cherries, but other than that, I do not remember what it else it has. The meal overall was okay, but obviously I've been disappointed with a lot of the orders since many came out drier and not as succulent as it could have been - but my disappointment may have also been because I had high expectations from this restaurant to serve up the best Mexican in Miami. But if they don't pay specific attention to individual dishes, which means that they can't just simply be mass-producing the food, then I doubt this place would be serving the best anytime soon... 3.5 stars.

The food the only 3 times we have gone there, has been excellent. I have to say though that the reason we (me and wife) go back is because of the service, The waiter Geoffrey remembered not only us but our food and we only went once before this time and had him as our waiter. We both work at Mandarin Oriental so we know service when we see it, Great job and keep it up

This is a very good Mexican restaurant and the price is not all that bad!!!! Except.......... NEVER order a jug of Sangria or you'll be paying $80 for it!!! If we would have known that we would have ordered individual glasses, but we never would have guessed a jug would be $80 and we ordered 2!! So just in drinks we spent $160!! The food was not so expensive (Same price range of Fridays, Flanigans, Red Lobster, etc) We of course ordered the Guacamole En Molcajete after hearing only wonderful things about how they cook it in front of you and all that good stuff! It was pretty amazing I have to say. We ordered 2 bowls and it was A LOT, but it was a lot of delicious food!!! We also ordered Flautas de Pollo which were great and the Queso Fundido was amazing as well. The Quesadilla De Huitlacoche (which is like a grilled flour tortilla with Corn, Poblano Chile, Cheese and one of their many special sauces, etc) is also a must at this restaurant!! Plus, you can't be the area!!! Located right on Mary Brickell Village, it is close to bars, lounges, more restaurants and shopping. It's a perfect little getaway spot that really makes you feel like your somewhere else!

Ehh, i mean the food wasn't terrible, but it really wasn't that good. Considering the pricing, the food should have been much better. I had the tortilla soup which was overly spicy, while maintaing a consistent bland taste throughout. My enchiladas were drenched in a very salty mole sauce which caused me to just eat the meat out of the middle because the rest of the dish was too soupy. Also, the table side made guac was just okay, I've had better from whole foods. I probably won't be returning because the prices are just way higher then I am willing to pay for sub-par mexican food.

It's our third night in SoFLA, we continue our rockin'-out-session weekend by going to Opium @ Hard Rock that night. We know better than to go on a hungry stomach (and a fuzzy head) so we head out to find a place to eat that's close by where we were in staying (Brickell area). Going out the door, we haven't a clue on where to go. Even with the help of Yelp and Urbanspoon, we're having trouble finding a decent place without having to worry about being disappointed and/or getting food poisoned. So I text one of my gracious friends where he went to eat while living there. His text response: "rosa mexicano don't eat anywhere else" Duly noted. Off we go. Parking sucks in downtown Brickell, by the way. Trendy and upscale with a low-lit setting; perfect for dates and/or special occasions. Start off the "made-right-there-in-your-face" guacamole and check out the rest of the menu while you enjoy the nachos and soft tortillas that comes with it. The menu has a little bit of everything from salmon to lamb so just ask yourself what you're in the mood for and go from there. The tacos were great. Some of the best steak-in-a-taco I ever had. Even tried my friend's lamb (which I'm generally not very fond of) but it has converted me to a lamb-liker. Lover? Not just yet. Didn't get any drinks or dessert so no comment on that. Overall, it's a tad pricey but definitely worth the food if you don't mind splurging for a night.

Biggest pet peeve ever - when waiters/waitresses don't write down your order. I don't care how GOOD you think you are (or you actually are) just write it down. Our waiter came over, took the order, didn't write it down and came back asking for us to repeat our order. Come on... I'm surprised that such a well known, high-end chain restaurant has such few veggie options. I had veggie tacos and they were fine, nothing special. I enjoyed the rice and corn more than anything. Good margaritas, but again, nothing outstanding. Great ambiance, love the decor and the hostess was a sweetheart.

This place is OK. I think it has gone downhill over the past year. The service is good, the food is OK, I recommend having the Guacamole prepared table side. It is a nice show, obviously fresh and you can determine how spicy you would like it etc.. It is a nice touch. Their brunch is pretty good. I enjoy the Crab Cake Benedict they make. The French Toast is good as well, but I found it to be a little too fancy with an over pronounced orange flavor. Be careful parking can be a problem.

Here's how we were able to spend only $60 for dinner here.... We came during happy hour with my co-workers and got beer and margaritas for less than $4 each. We had the queso fundido for around $5 dollars (happy hour prices). It consisted of melted cheese and chorizo with tortillas. It was delicious, but definitely not worth the usual $9+ non happy hour price. We tried a co-worker's chicken taquitos appetizer... and I must admit, I usually don't like taquitos, but these were pretty darn good. After happy hour with my co-workers, my husband and I decided to have dinner inside. I was told that if I ate at this restaurant without getting the guacamole than I shouldn't even bother to come. So ofcourse, we ended up with the guacomole. The guacomole is a bit pricey at $14 but worth it. I was pretty full off of just the guacamole and queso, but decided we needed an entre (especially since my hubby was not full). We ended up sharing the mole xica, which had a tasty mole sauce that almost reminded me of the hoisin sauce used on pho... it was pretty tasty Definitely a good experience...but as everyone else has said, it is a bit pricey...if it weren't for the price, I'd definitely go back

Rosa is still pretty good, but I feel like the quality has gone a little downhill. The food just doesn't seem to be quite worth the prices anymore, especially not the guac :/ That said, the atmosphere is great and the staff pleasant!

I am a huge Mexican food fan. Rosa's satisfies the craving for sure. The service is great and the food is delicious. I usually order the braised veggie tacos, which has squash, zucchini and other vegetables sauteed. The sides are my favorite- pureed black beans and a specialty rice. I also love the guacamole, which is made in front of you at the table. It is for sure something to share with more than 2 people though.

my husband and I went there for dinner with another couple and was initially quite excited about the place and the food. Needless to say it was a huge disappointment. Our waitress kept disappearing and just seemed extremely tired and disinterested to serve us. The food was mediocre and not to mention had to send back 2 dishes. The only thing that I appreciated in this place was their guacamole and the ambiance that's about it. Sadly, will def not going to be back or recommend this place to anyone :(

Went to rosa for my birthday...ended up being a bad idea. Clearly told the waiter we wanted one (1) guacamoles on each side of the table which would equal to two...ended up with six (six!) guacamoles and got charged $12.00 for each one! There were 12 people in our party. As you can imagine $12.00 for 6 guacamoles plus the entrees, drinks etc totaled to a hefty check. Upon seeing the check and the amount we were shocked. Nevertheless we fixed the bill but it was a headache and well the restaurant ruined our night just a tiddly bit. The female manager and the waiters were extremely rude. I used to recommend this restaurant all the time to hotel guests when I worked at a luxury 5 star resort but I stopped when that happened and I instructed the concierge of the hotel to stop recommending rosa as well. I bet you guys felt it!

I was here for lunch, which I think is a better deal than dinner. The guacamole was fantastic. They make it fresh tableside and serve it with tortilla chips, warm tortillas, and a couple of salsas. It isn't magic, it's just fresh ingredients. Next I had the mole tacos. These people make an outstanding mole!! If you aren't a fan of mole, the flavor can be a little intimidating, but I absolutely loved it. It was very rich in flavor, and a little goes a long way. It had a nice slow heat to it which was very pleasant. The service was great and the place is decorated very nicely. I'd love to come back for dinner sometime. :)

Yes! big fan of the fresh guacamole and the traditional Mole dish! Great drinks and desserts too and is located under one of the hottest spot in Brickell, Blue Martini. Can't go wrong with anything you order here.

  • Krupa H.

The guacamole made in front of you is a must have. You can't go wrong with it. Super fresh. That and the atmosphere are the only two positive things that I have to say about it though. I have gotten a pitcher of sangrias here once and they were awful. Way to sweet. The margaritas are ok, but not what they make them out to be. The service has been slow at times. I have had the chicken tortilla pie and wished I had gone to Burger King instead. I have also had the suizas and they were ok, but not the worth the money. Final decision: overpriced for what you get!

Their guacamole is absolutely, positively, the most SUPERB guacamole that has ever touched these lips. But, it's also really easy to re-create at home (for much less). My friends and I watched the guy make it once, then easily replicated it at home many times. Other than that, their menu is "eh" and the atmosphere is okay. It's good if you want someone else to make your guac for you.

This place is a good spot for upscale Mexican comfort food if there is such a thing. The guacamole is real good and prepared table-side. The portions could be better but overall it's good food. Venue: The restaurant is very nice and located in Mary Brickell Village. It has pretty sharp decor too. Wait times can get a little ridiculous so call ahead and plan to pay to park.

I had made reservations for my best friend's bachelorette party a week in advance. I requested for the private room and was told there would be "no problem". We arrive at the restaurant and were seated in a public area. I asked about the private room and was told that this was all they had. I brushed it off because I was not looking for a problem. I was looking for a good time and good food with good service. My party of 6 ordered 3 margaritas each and a plate of food with double guacamole serving. Needless to say, we were dropping a reasonable amount of money. The waitress failed to give half of our table water and NEVER once took back our plates. It was not until we told a random worker that we needed help clearing the table for the new food that we already had on the table that assistance was provided. We ignored all of this bad service because hey, we were just trying to have a great time. HERE IS THE KICKER!!!: Once my bachelorette was served her dessert she looked up at the wall and pointed directly at a BABY ROACH. Now, if you know ANYTHING about roaches, when there is one baby roach, there are about 3,000 other baby roaches. We were sitting near the kitchen, so I KNOW this little critter could not have possibly wondered into the restaurant. Our party did not scream or make a fuss but only said "Oh My GOD". The assistant manager killed the baby roach and WALKED AWAY. It was not until WE REQUESTED to speak to the manager that this issue was even addressed. When I told the manager that I was appalled and did not want to pay for anything because the service was bad, the reservation was ignored and that there was a baby roach on the wall. He simply said, "The only thing I can do for you is comp your drinks". I asked to speak with the GM and my request was denied. I felt as though I was not being taken seriously. As though the CPA, two Nurses', Professor and two therapists that were sitting at that table were not being treated as professionals, but rather "the little women". Had the table been a group of successful men, everything would have been comped and the manager would have apologized profusely. Instead I was told this was an isolated incident. I graduated with a dual degree in nursing and a BS in Biology, I KNOW that roaches come in packs. I have studied them!!! I was being treated disrespectfully and being spoken to in a condescending tone. I did not appreciate this. Of course I had no other choice but to be the typical "lady" shut my mouth and accept the ridiculous answers this manager had provided. I WILL NEVER EVER be eating there again, NOR SHOULD YOU... No one deserves to pay full price for less than mediocre, regardless of gender or education.

i really thought this place was pretty decent, though the service was lacking (like most restaurants in miami). decor was nice. i had the fish tacos which were really fresh and not smothered in cheese like most mexican food. the rice served with the meal was really unlike any sort of mexican rice, made with short-grain rice and with a nice flavor. beans were good, too. the margaritas were perfect but the price was really steep.

Decided to try this place for lunch...authentic or modern Mexican food.... Started out with the guacamole and chips, very good but a little pricy at $12 for 2 people. I had the beef enchiladas for lunch which were very interesting, not authentic style but a modern twist with a little too much weird spice for my taste. The portions were very small for the price you pay but after a couple of good margaritas who cares. The service here is excellent; our waiter was on top of his game making sure you had everything you need. Just watching the wait staff it appears they are all very focused on doing an excellent job... The atmosphere is great with the cool furnishing, cool water feature, cool bar and everyone having too much fun eating guacamole.

Service was horrible! My husband and I have been there a couple of times during happy hour and they have a special menu with great prices that you have to specially request because they won't offer it to you even though they know they have happy hour promotion. First time we went the waitress was okay but her face changed when we asked for the happy hour menu. Second time we went the waitress was VERY RUDE, we again asked for the happy hour menu, she wasn't helpful at all with our questions about the sangria pitcher size and bought whatever she wanted. When we asked her name she responded "you don't need to know my name". Of course that was the end of it and we got up and left. VERY RUDE waitress, horrible attitude and disrespecful treatment. They act that they are doing you a favor instead of serving you meal. WE ARE NEVER GOING BACK THERE!

Worth going just for the drinks and the guacamole. They make it fresh every time you order it right at your table. Amazingly good. I've eaten dinner here two or three times... None of the entrees really blew me away. Chocolate with chili peppers is a dessert taste I can't say I've ever had before stopping here. Worth a taste.

This place is alright. Nothing overly special really. I wish I could give 3 1/2 stars but that's not an option. Some items are really good, others are just okay. It's easy to rack up a hefty bill. It's good and I've been a couple times because it's close to work, but it's nothing special. Sure.

Don't come in expecting traditional mexican food - think Mexican-fusion. The menu items are interesting, but unexpected. Someone is a fan of Cilantro as every dish has it. The portions are huge - a little too huge. The soup is yummy - just enough kick. The experience was great - our server was a sweetheart. The prices are a little higher than i would normally expect for Mexican (got spoiled living in Vegas for a decade). THe portions are seriously large enough for two people EASY - get the smaller plates rather than entrees and share. Will go back again.

Dinner at Rosa Mexicano was the highlight of my day when I stumbled upon this restaurant while working in Miami. I am so glad I did! It was an amazing dinner! We sat outside right on Miami Ave, which is a fun place to people-watch at Mary Brickell Village. Our server was incredibly helpful and walked us through the menu. Too many menu items were tempting, so we ended up with three appetizers and an entree to share....perfection! To start we had the guac, which is made fresh and delicious! We also had the pacific yellowtail tartare and crab turnovers for appetizers. The yellowtail tartare was one of the best things I've ever eaten. It had mango, cucumbers, watermelon and jalapeno ice....yes, you read that correctly. The jalapeno ice was sweet, spicy, cool, and a perfect complement to the yellowtail. The crab turnovers were yummy, but the sauces they are served with is what was unbelievable--a mango fruit salsa and an avocado tomatillo salsa. For our main course we had the Snapper, which was a butterfly fillet and covered in perfect spices. The appetizers are small but incredible, so I recommend ordering several and sharing with a friend....but you may leave as enemies after fighting over the tartare and jalapeno ice.

I have been to Rosa Mexicano in DC many times and also the one in New York a few times. That's why I decided to go with my family to the one in Brickell since we were staying downtown Miami for a wedding. Never again! The food was horrible. The portions were so small, my boys left hungry! The service was so bad, we waited 15 minutes till our waiter brought our drinks. There ate so many reasonable great places to eat in this area. DON'T waste your time or money here!

They have really good Mexican food in a semi-upscale atmosphere. The restaurant is very cute inside and almost purposely kitschy. Their signature pomegranate margarita is very good. The food comes very quickly. So quickly that I would recommend ordering your main course after you have finished eating your appetizers. Otherwise, your main course will arrive while you're still enjoying your appetizers.

I'm going to give this place 3 stars for now, but will definitely stop back to check it out again with a smaller group. To be fair, we were a group of 15 with an 8:30 p.m. reservation on a Friday night, which is never easy. That being said, we were only assigned 1 waiter which had a big impact on the quality of the service. The food was excellent. Several other reviewers have mentioned the guacamole which was pretty outstanding along with the yummy tortilla chips, soft tortillas and the salsas it was served with. We were starving when we arrived here, and this appetizer really hit the spot. The main course dishes were all really tasty as well. Where they kind of fell down for us on this night was with the service. We showed up on time for our 8:30 reservation, but weren't seated for about 15 more minutes, and the person at the door who was handling the seating (didn't get his name, 18 or 19 year old kid with perfectly manicured eyebrows, a bit of an attitude and a somewhat bitchy disposition) wasn't the most accomodating person in the world to deal with. We were eventually led to our seating area outside which was perfect because we were a big group, had just come from Tobacco Road and were most likely going to be a bit loud. The waiter arrived right away and quickly delivered menus, took drink orders and served up the appetizers. However, we'd polished off our drinks, most of the appetizers, had been seated for about 35 minutes and they still hadn't taken our dinner orders or brought waters for us. Once the orders were taken, the main courses were delivered fairly quickly compared to what I was expecting, and everything was tasty aside from the sangria which tasted a bit off for some reason. As others have mentioned, this place can be a bit on the pricey side, but not terribly expensive considering this is billed as more of an upscale Mexican restaurant experience. Overall everyone was happy with their food and good times were had by all. Next time I'll try this place with a smaller group and see if there's an improvement on the service, but in the case where there's a party as large as ours was, I'd suggest they provide more than just 1 server for the entire group.

The decor here is really nice, I especially like their blue wall of a thousand tiny diving men in the main dining room and their secluded outdoor patio that's naturally adorned with a beautiful, big-rooted tree. This is a good place to drink, chill, and eat guacamole...and that's about it. Most of their food isn't authentic, comes in tiny portions, and is kind of overpriced. Guacamole is made table-side and you choose your heat. Bowls of this stuff usually disappear in about .02 seconds. Recommended cocktails are their frozen Passion Fruit Margaritas (swimming with a lethal amount of tequila) and their fruit-filled Sangria where you actually get two drinks for the price of one thanks to a carafe.

A bold Mexican sensory experience - subtlety, be damned. Start with the decor - bright, bold colors on the walls accented by a variety of eye popping accessories - a waterfall, 'abstract' art, candles, etc.; a very warm, inviting setting (must be a great bar scene). No complimentary chips and salsa started us off (first Mexican place that did that), so we dove straight into the entrees. The special, duck enchilada ($12 at lunch; not bad), featured some incredibly well cooked shredded duck, bathed in a pepper-based sauce. It was excellent, but the spiciness was overdone (ditto on the other items). The chicken (micro) tacos again featured some very well cooked chicken and some fresh ingredients. Rose Mexicano may also have the best children's menu choices, with its chicken flauta with corn rivaling its adult offerings. The complimentary black bean puree and rice were delicious as well. For dessert, the tres leches was more gimmicky than tasty. If the spice level can be adjusted, make sure you request that, as I am sure that will bring out even more its quality, fresh ingredients. Biggest drawback - try finding a parking space!

Guacamole! This is the main reason I went to Rosa Mexicano and unfortunately I was not impressed womp womp. My husband and I went for dinner and were presented with the Miami Spice menu. We decided to try it so we could split everything and get a feel for the restaurant. The location itself is beautiful, we especially liked the waterfall wall with what looked like to be coral but turned out to be naked little blue men with great butts... yeah I looked. I also like the bright colors. I felt the service was sub-par, our bus boy paid more attention to us than our waitress. My husband had the guacamole, filet with tequila mushroom sauce, and coconut flan. I had their signature pomegranate margarita, pasilla chile soup, steak and shrimp stew, and cheesecake. As I mentioned before we were not impressed by the guacamole it lacked any real flavor, but my pasilla chile soup was delicious. I really enjoyed the presentation as they serve it tableside. I honestly could not taste the pomegranate in my margarita :( My steak and shrimp stew was good, the sauce was a good blend of spicy and savory and the side of white rice complemented it nicely. My husband thought the portion was little small and that everything had way too much garnish. The filet with tequila sauce was very bland and was also not visually appealing. The deserts were super delicious, very decadent... could have done without the apples on the side. I'll go back and try it again maybe we'll have better luck.

I have gone to this place twice. Both times I regret going. My friend and I were in the mood for some mexican food and since the orginal place we wanted to try was closed, she convinced me to give Rosa another shot. The service was great, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff. The food was HORRIBLE! It was so bad that I had to send the food back since it was not edible. My friend ordered the fish with the sauce on the side. It was drenched in sauce which they called "marinade". She asked for her leftovers to be wrapped up since she figured she could use it the next day for lunch. A container that looked like fish pudding was handed to her. They took her meal and chopped it up into a small tupperware! I don't care HOW conveniently located it is, I will not return.

came here after the Heat basketball game for a few drinks and an order of guacamole. Guacamole came and it was as good as the Rosa Mexicano in NYC, so that was a nice way to start off the end of the night! It's still a little on the bland side of spicy for me, even though I always order it hot.... Waiter was top-notch. Friendly guy with lots of good suggestions off the menu. My mom and I both got a flight of tequila (even though I'm not a huge fan) and we both found some nice one's we liked. I also got the Mexican mojito, I was a little skeptical at first b/c I'm not a huge fan of cilantro, but this was done very well and was really tasty! Had the Pinguino for dessert (a chocolate hazelnut cupcake thing) that was very rich and completely satisfied my chocolate craving for the night! so, can't really review the food, but if you want a chill place for a few drinks and some guacamole, this will more than satisfy.

What happened!? This place has gone so far down hill! It was one of my favorites when it opened. The service is pitiful. Even the guacamole isnt good anymore. Last time I had it it was flavorless and the chips were a week old. Depressing.

went with a group of friends for a thursday happy hour/dinner.. and i wasnt impressed at all.. we sat in the outside patio, since it was a "winter night" the weather was perfect. the service was terribly slow and disorganized. the food was ok but nothing special at all. except the guacamole (which i loooved). everything was just decent. the best part of the night (except the company) was the waiter messed up and brought and extra rum/diet so i got a free drink out of it! :)

I have been to Rosa a few times and have always walked away with the same feeling, food was fine, but too expensive. I think the guacamole is very good and worth every cent but the rest of the menu is just overpriced and sub par. I had the steak tacos last night and felt i could have made it myself. The sauces are not very flavorful and every time I've been to Mexico they've served tacos with at least 5 - 10 sauces. Also we got there pretty early yesterday and at least half the restaurant was empty but they tried to seat the two of us next to a group of 10 that was a family with young children, when we asked to be seated somewhere else, the hostess seemed very thrown by this...Thought that was odd. So for two margaritas, two entrees and guac, it was $50 for each. A tad much for this kind of meal.

The both times I have come here I have thoroughly enjoyed the food! The prices are a bit unreasonable for some items and that's why I'm giving them 4 stars. Great guacamole! Have them add extra jalapeños. Good food. Good service. Good bar tenders. Chicken pie dish and ribs are great.

Rosa Mexicano a good start to the weekend In the new South Beach--Brickell-- you've got all sorts of restaurants. Everything from Chinese (PF Changs) to Mexican (Rosa Mexicano). A couple of years after Mary Brickell Village made it's grand debut, I tried a few of their restaurants. The place was kind of dead, I have to say. Up until recently, within the last couple of years or so, I noticed that it has really exploded into a happening area with vibrant young people and trendy shops and great restaurants. That entire area of Brickell has seen an explosion of pedestrians going from restaurant to restaurant walking around enjoying the night air. My first time at Rosa, I was on one of my excursions to the downtown area. I happened by Rosa Mexicano in search of something to eat after an art exhibit at MAM (Miami Art Museum). The decor and ambiance is really what that area needed to wake up the old sleepy town that was once Brickell. As soon as you walk in to the restaurant, you're treated to colorful representations of Mexico. A huge wall full of the Acapulco divers--it's an intriguing display considering how the dolls are attached to the wall--stands between the bar and the rest of the restaurant. Their drink menu is extensive. I recommend going with a good size group, four to six is good. Then, order from the "Margaritas de la casa" menu. The Frozen Pomegranate Margarita is a must try. They'll even make it for you on the rocks! The lunch menu is also extensive. They offer a good variety on their Spice Menu as well. Whatever you order, be prepared, it comes loaded with a lot of food. Let me suggest you have the Guacamole en Molcaje appetizer. They have someone roll a cart full of condiments and prepare the guacamole at the table. They make it to your liking as well, mild, medium or hot. I go with the mild, no need to annihilate your taste buds so early into the meal. I've had the Carne Asada (Steak) tacos al asador. They're cooked to order and the steak is served sliced up on a cast iron skillet with an assortment of sides. The red bean-chorizo chili, corn esquites, chile de árbol salsa and the corn tortillas will fill you up just fine. No need to worry about sides or extras. The meat was tender and delicious. I like to fill my tortillas up differently every time. It gives me the sense that I'm trying all sorts of new things. That and the fact that the tortillas they give you don't really fit everything they give you with the steaks. On another occasion, I've had the Costillas de Cordero (Rack of Lamb). LOVED IT! That's a dinner onto it's own. But Mexicans, they love all sorts of acompañantes (sides) with their meals. The Costillas come with a black bean pumkin tamal and grilled asparagus and pistachio mole. Yum, that's good. I recommend going one day after work maybe on a Friday. That way you can take in all that Brickell has to offer. The trendy pretty people for one and the night life is interesting.

I've been going here for quite a few years. I'm giving it 2 stars because the last time I went, the waitress seemed preoccupied with what other things, after ordering had to wait over 30 mins for my food, and when I got my food had the order was incomplete and cold. This was my first time going for lunch, so maybe it was just a bad day because every other time I had been there was for dinner.

I went to this restaurant expecting great food and a great experience since it has such a great reputation, but I was not satisfied. The main waiter was good and friendly but the server in charge of preparing the guacamole had the worst attitude! We asked him if he could add lime since we have previously had the guacamole with a bit of lime and we like it with lime added and he just told us, "No. This guacamole does not come with lime." Mind you, we knew that hence why we asked him for it, which then we said if we can have some lime on the side which then he gave us the guacamole, left, and never brought us the lime. We had to ask our waiter for the lime and he had no idea of what was going on. On the other hand, the main entrees were ok but not anything extraordinary and I really don't think it was worth the price. I had the "Pescado Pibil" which is a snapper with some red spices on it but the snapper had soooo many spines in it and all the red spices had no flavor. I honestly feel that I have had better Mexican food elsewhere.

I been here several times but it has been about a year since I returned and I ended up going on Saturday for lunch. I must say I was kind of disappointed because all of the food was too salty. I have been eating very healthy for over a year and don't put salt on my food or add it when I am cooking so maybe it was just me but I thought everything we ordered was too salty. I think I drink five glasses of ice tea to compensate for it. We started with the guacamole which is a must. They make it at your table and the dude who made it was very friendly. We also had the queso and chorizo appetizer, it was awesome!!!! I got the carne tacos as did my mom and we both loved them. My brother got some veggie burrito and he loved it, it had mushrooms, spinach, and a couple other things in it. By the time I looked over to try some it was gone ;( My dad had a salad and it was one of the best I had. This place would normally get five stars but I did feel that everything was wayyyyyyyy to salty for my likings. It is a must try though!!!!

I went with some friends at the last minute. First, they told us the wait would be 25 minutes. (we ended up waiting an hour) Second, they charged my friends and I TWICE for our drinks at the bar.(obviously a lack of communication on the staffs part) When we were finally seated, we quickly realized that it must be company policy to avoid contact with the customer (as we waited for another 10 minutes for someone to even get us water). When we finally ordered, the made the guacamole waaaay to spicy after we had specifically asked for mild. When the fixed it, I cant lie, it was delicious. Fast forward to dinner....I ordered the Chicken Enchilada Suiza (fancy talk for burritos) They actual Enchilada was great, but the rice and beans were beyond cold. The service is slow, the staff is rude, pretentious and ummmmmmm...how do I say this? Yeah! Retarded! Go to Chilis and order some chips and 2-4-1 drinks. You'll be waaaay better off!

I came to this restaurant when they first opened. It was my first and last. I took my mexican friend who was very intrigued by the new upscale mexican place downtown. The waiter was really good. We were enjoying ourselves. Had the guacamole. it was alright. More show than taste. When i first order I asked the waiter not to bring the rice and beans that came with my plate. As it would be a waste i won't eat them. Every time i go to eat mexican i ask the waiters the same thing. I don't like wasting food. He said , no problem. Of course when my plate got to the table, it had rice and beans. My entree came and I waited, and waited for my friend's to come. My food is getting cold and my friend is telling me to start eating. And I don't want to start without him. By the way the waiter was reacting you could tell his plate was going to take some time. So my friend says ill have your rice and beans while I wait for my food. so im thinking: great! This mistake paid off. But after one bite my friend stops eating and calls the waiter and asks to cancel his order. Im trying to figure out whats happening. He was so happy to be there. He found a nail in the beans. It was disgusting. I was able to finish my meal. And of course they didnt charge us. We gave the waiter a big tip. Because it wasnt his fault. But you would expect this at Taco Bell, not at Rosa mexicano.

I love Rosa Mexicano. They have the best margaritas in South Florida. They are as authentic as they get around here, with squeezed lime juice and good tequila. The mole is outstanding. At this restaurant they tend to put it on top of tacos, which is fine. I'd like to see a pollo con mole dish there, and maybe they'll do that with the rotating specials menu soon. Desserts are tasty, and the fish dishes are flaky and melt in your mouth. I have to say it's one of my favorite places in Florida.

Rosa Mexicano has established a very interesting concept, positioning Mexican food in a simple fashionable way - It's far from the original Mexican food, but it's adapted to the American taste, in order to make it profitable - a very good concept - Now, the one in NY (the original one) is very good, but the one here in Miami has a service problem, they want to create an aura of always been busy, and they make you wait forever, even with a reservation - So, if they can change that would be a great plus ! I recommend the guacamole, although it is expensive -

I've been to Rosa Mexicano a few times now and I have to say that I would rate it OK at best. Let me start by saying that the service is usually pretty good. I've had wonderful experiences before and then the last time that I was there, the waiter was very sarcastic with my group. I suppose not everyone can handle being helpful and nice, huh? When it comes to their food, the guacamole is a must do. I mean, it's practically the best thing on their menu anyway. You can have the guacamole prepared right in front of you and as spicy, or not, as you want it - again MUST DO! The menu doesn't have a wide variety of food, as a matter of fact, it's very limited. Lunch is usually poor and does not taste that great. Dinner, on the other hand, was pretty good. However, the portions for both are generally a little too small. They have different kinds of Sangria that are wonderful, most notably the Sparkling Sangria. Interesting experience overall... Definitely not a place I like to frequent.

This place is a great place for happy hour. the margaritas and red wine sangrias are great! And Happy hour has 2-for-1 specials. and there's guacamole and chips that comes with it. Yummy - chicken quesadilla. (although, this is NOT on the menu, we found out it was on a 'secret' menu from our waiter... so we ordered it.) it comes with the great guac, and is super tasty. the chicken pieces inside aren't dry either. :) Okay - Short Ribs. I found this to be mediocre, somewhat dry, there was a bit of sauce around, but not that much, so it couldn't aid the dryness. some parts were moist, but it was just a vaca frita-like dish, with garlic. I'm not sure it was worth the 26 dollars we paid. end result. . . great place for happy hour, especially since its in the middle of Brickell. but then, hop to another restaurant if you're wanting to get a yummy meal in for the night.

Of course, it's all about the guacamole. It can't be beat. I've yet to leave unsatisfied with any of my orders thus far. The Chicken Qusadillas are simply delicious and the prices on the menu aren't too crazy. The decor of the place is something I've loved since I first came here. Especially the blue diver wall.

Forget about making guac at home, this is the ONLY place in Miami where you can find good guacomole. They make it tableside and to your liking=mild, medium, or hot. This alone is worth the ride. I've been here a couple of times for lunch and it's consistently good. I've tried different menu items: quesadillas, torta mejicana, enchiladas, and budin de pollo. The sweet potato fries are just the perfect combination of salty and sweet. It's good service too. When we got there around 12, we had the place to ourselves, but on our way out...there was not an empty table. Word to the wise: beat the brickell lunch crowd. Parking isn't a hassel at the village since they opened the garage. But bring cash for lunch--it's a $5 flat rate. Typical mexican decor except for the main blue wall which divides the bar from the dining area--it is filled with little ivory divers protruding from the wall. Yes, you read correctly. If you figure it out, let me know. Otherwise, I'll just keep on going for the guac.

For Brickell residents, this New York based restaurant offers a tasty place to grab good food and drinks. If you don't make a reservation on a busy night, then you can always take a chance for an empty seat in the bar area or outside patio. The Guacamole is tasty but unpredictable (e.g. spicy is not spicy or too spicy). Be sure that you get your complimentary mini tortillas with your Guac because Guac taquitos are better than the chips. Sometimes they "forget" to bring the mini tortillas. The speciality frozen pomegranate margaritas are tasty but absolutely deadly. After more than a few regrettable nights, I have a self-imposed limit of 2-3. They are so tasty that you cannot taste how strong these pink drinks really are. Many other reviews have recommended some of my favorite entrees, but if you are just in for some noshin' and margaritas, I suggest an order of Guacamole to your taste, the tortilla soup and 2-3 pomegranate margaritas. Another tip: If you're craving Rosa but want to stay home, this place will quickly serve a plate to go whether you call in or order at the bar.

So this was a very pleasant experience, be aware if you do not like spicy food most likely you are not going to enjoy the food... I love the food so it was great . A must try is the Piña mojito!!!! I had the fish tacos which were great, I also ate the poblano since my mom does not like spicy food and also ate the fish tacos (appetizer) since my girl does not eat raw fish, so I can truly say everything was great . Good food, beautiful place what else can you ask for? I know I know great service!!! Anyway service was ok so that is way the 4 stars, definitely will be back

I love Mexican food. Which is a problem living in Miami, land of a thousand Latino restaurants but very few of the Mexican persuasion. Luckily there is Rosa Mexicano, easily one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. I know they've got some bad reviews. But I've been here around five times now and have never (and I mean Never) had a bad experience. In fact, quite the opposite. The service is top-notch; anticipating needs, considerate, going the extra-mile at every chance. One disclaimer, I am always here during the day. (kudos Day-Shift, you folks rock!). The food: beautiful, yummy, perfectly cooked. Carnitas and Carne Asada are better than perfect. So is the table side guacamole everyone is raving about. The atmosphere: nice, modern, clean. Typical Brickell-hip. Nice bar. Outside and inside service. So, yeah, I love this place and happily travel from across town to eat here. Note: Don't forget to validate your valet parking too.

Well my expectations really were not set that high as I was under the impression of just another chain restaurant. I didn't have the traditional Mexican fare yet chose the Salmon Poblano because it's served sautéed over a bed of Tuscan kale, chorizo and roasted corn in a poblano cream sauce. Being a seasoned salmon aficionado I honestly cannot recall the last time I've had a such a complement of flavors all in one dish. The salmon was prepared beyond perfection atop kale, that as healthy as it may be was truly delicious. I shall walk around the corner for this again.... Bravo Rosa Mexicano!

I've come here twice with some of my classmates to try the unlimited guac! I have to say that the guac is absolutely delicious. I love that they make it on the spot after you order it. This ensures that the avocados are fresh which is absolutely amazing. I love that you can get it with varying levels of spice but I could have done with even more spice than the highest level. Overall, loving the guac and the fact that it's unlimited makes it such a good deal. The service, however, is not that great. We ordered the guac but they wouldn't make it for like half an hour or more. It's like they're trying to force us to eat less guac and to fill up on chips. Also, we would ask for napkins and water and it's like the waiters would just ignore us. It was really annoying having to keep flagging down waiters and ask for refills of everything.

I was ready for some Mexican food. I have visited this place before but in south beach. I know about their guacamole. Delicious!! Same as here. The guacamole was very testy. I also had the tacos with white fish which turn out to be a great choice. And the last part (the most important one for me) was the service that Giovanni offered. An amazing person that makes every costumer wish reality. Thank you Giovanni!

What a wonderful experience this afternoon with Sarah & Mark. As a busy working professional, sometimes it is hard to meet up with your friends any other time that isn't lunch or happy hour. With that being said, I missed my best friend's birthday, and decided to surprise her during her lunch hour with lunch @ Rosa Mexicano. We were warmly greeted by Mark, who remembered all the details about my OpenTable reservation, including the fact that it was my friend's birthday! We were promptly seated, and then greeted by our wonderful server Sarah. Sarah was quick, efficient, with the correct balance of friendly and professional. We ordered guacamole, a strawberry margarita, and mezcalrita. The Melzcalrita was a nice balance between smokey, salty, sweet, and strong - I loved it! My friend ordered the strawberry margarita, which she thoroughly enjoyed as well. Our guacamole was so fresh and fantastic, with the proper proportion of onions & cilantro to avocado. It is a little expensive, but in comparison to other places, it is worth the couple extra bucks. Unfortunately, we were unable to order an entree due to time restrictions, but we were able to order the tres leche dessert, which they brought with a candle! The dessert had a wonderful marriage between sweet, creamy, and tart. They added berries to the plate which gave it a nice acidity, and the portion was perfect. The tres leche also tasted like it had some type of spice (not spicy) that i couldn't quite put my finger on. It was a wonderful experience, and we definitely be returning to review the entrees. Thank you Sarah & Mark! It was a wonderful first time experience. My only suggestion is maybe more cocktail & taco variety. Doing so will definitely make Rosa Mexicano the best upscale Mexican in the area, even over Rocco's.

Not sure what could be closer to a perfect dinner. We were joining an already large party for dinner (last minute party crashing). As we walked into the large dining room, we were already dazzled by a gorgeous display: beautiful doll setup on the flowing water display, cozy bright ceiling bulb wires, dangerously decorative tequila bottles and cutesy animal dolls caged a glass display. Seated next to the flowing water, we opted for the tableside guacamole demo - a MUST HAVE. The waiter rolls a table over to us with a bowl of avocados, some tomatoes, ginger, and other necessary ingredients. Next thing we know - there's a big bowl of freshly mixed guacamole set on the table to accompany the chips and salsa. To drink, I had a pineapple mojito which was interesting yet refreshing mint/pineapple blend. To eat, I'd be quick to recommend the enchiladas. There's a terrific chicken enchilada that's served as a roasted chicken tinga topped with a creamy tomatillo (green) sauce, cilantro, onion, and Chihuahua cheese. This tomatillo sauce offers a splendid sweet flavor, but it's a good idea to ask for their chili hot sauce (if you're craving authenticly Mexican spice). Black beans and brown rice accompanied as communal sides. Saving the best for last, an order of tres leches made its way to our table. Deviating from the norm, a layer of strawberry sauce encloses the three layered milk-cream cake. A string of fruits encircle the plate which were appealing both aesthetically and in taste - blackberries, strawberries, etc. Each bite was exceptionally savory. Could not have asked for a better meal here, although I'm sure the near-perfect experience came at a lofty price. Hey- you get what you pay for!

Came in to Rosa Mexicano for a business presentation by Zoetis. We were sat in their private room. The lighting is warm and intimate. We had over four servers just dedicated to our table, Everyone was happy with the service and we couldn't help to deviate from the presentation to try their delicious guacamole which presented with a little kick is to perfection. Their salsa chips are crunchy and not greasy to our surprise. For the main entree we had three choices. Choice number one was soft corn tortillas filled with wild mushrooms and spinach topped with a mild Mexican tamale sauce. The second choice was grilled salmon over sauted tuscan kale, crumbled chorizo, roasted corn and poblano chile, served over a poblano cheese creme. The third and my choice was the carne asada which i had medium rare, marinated in guajillo chile and tequila over Chihuahua cheese, with poblano rojos, served with house rice and re-fried beans. I had a few of their house margarita on the rocks, made to perfection, strong and with nice pour of tequila. I also tried their pomegranate frozen margarita , really nice and strong as well, served in a pretty martini glass. For desert we had churros in an excuisite artery clogging experience which set us off for anything else for the rest of the night and the day after. The entire experience was nice and I think i would love to just come back but instead for business regular dinner with a date. After all my girlfriends favorite cuisine is Mexican.

I went to Rosa Mexicano in New York City last year and absolutely fell in love with everything from the tableside prepared guacamole to the seasonal vegetable tacos to the iced tea with fresh vanilla syrup. It was an easy 5 out of 5 sprouts for me. I recently found myself at a conference in Miami and had a long lunch hour one day. I talked one of my fellow conference attendees into joining me at the Rosa Mexicano- Miamiin the Brickell Village neighborhood of the city. Ah, the disappointment. It was a beautiful spring day and we chose to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. We immediately ordered the guacamole which is freshly prepared tableside. Apparently, if you sit outside, they don't roll the cart out to the table and prepare it in front of you, they simply bring it to you already made. I wish we had known that or had been told when we had ordered it. The menu clearly boasted it was prepared tableside. It's a neat touch, especially when you are trying to impress a colleague. My colleague Lisa and I, both big fans of all things veggies, both ordered the Farmer's Market Vegetable Tacos. Squash, mushrooms and brussel sprouts anchored apple pico de gallo and toasted macadamia nuts. Well.....the tortillas were good. First of all, I am a huge fan of brussel sprouts. I prepare them at home often and I order them anytime I spot them on a restaurant menu. I have never had really terrible brussel sprouts out before. However, the sprouts here at the Miami Rosa Mexicano were so large, it would be next to impossible to cook them well. They were very chewy and very rubbery. Honestly inedible. The other veggies were also too rubbery and chewy. Neither one of us ate more than half of our dish. Thank Goodness we had ordered a second basket of chips and salsa so we had something to nosh on. Our server never returned to our table to check on us so we were never able to tell anyone our dissatisfaction. We did like the black beans that accompanied our entrees. The apple pico de gallo was flavored water sitting in the plate. The entire dish was terrible. In the end we had to hand another member of the staff our credit card just so we could leave. A few weeks later as I was back in New York City I went with my Mother to Rosa Mexicano again up there and ordered the same Vegetable tacos dish and it was fabulous. Everything was cooked perfectly and I was once again back in love with Rosa Mexicano. However, I would never recommend the Miami outlet. The food was awful and the bad service didn't help. A very disappointing 2 1/2 sprouts out of 5- but only for the Miami location. Don't pass Rosa Mexicano up if you find yourself in New York City, but maybe keep walking if you pass by in Brickell Village Miami.

I have been to rosa Mexicano in other cities and this was quite bad in comparison. Service was bad, hostess took 10 minutes to sit us (had reservation) and The waiter was awful, didn't come around to check on us for long periods, made a few mistakes, forgot stuff. Food is average, what you would expect from a chain Mexican restaurant. Atmosphere is nice. Too bad is badly run and with poor servers. Just another Miami restaurant where you don't feel it was worth your $$$$

This is a happy hour only review. I was out and about again with my Happy Hour Buddy and we decided to give the Happy Hour Menu at Rosa Mexicano a chance. It did not disappoint! We sat at the bar- designated happy hour spot at the Brickell location. They give you chips. Decent salsa. I recommend you just get a pitcher of their white sangria. SO tasty, refreshing, and love the green apple the put in. My friend ordered a margarita on the rocks...again she is not good with strong drinks and was trying to drink from my sangria after she tasted it. [Girl! Make better drink decisions, that sangria is mine! ] I tried her margarita on the rocks to see why she wasn't drinking it--was decent and you will definitely get your alcohol's worth, she's just someone who does not like a lot of alcohol taste. She said she will be ordering the sangria next time. Moving on to the plates-- GET the queso fundido. Wow. Wow. Wow. To quote Kanye "Why is everything that's supposed to be bad, make me feel so good?" That appetizer is addictive and soo tasty. ADD THE CHORIZO. Order and share. The tacos are good too-- Carnitas and Res were better than the chicken (a bit dry.) Flautas were delicious- but usually anything fried is. Go before 7pm and get your tex-mex fix with a nice glass of sangria. (The menu applies to the Lincoln Road Location as well!)

It was my first time at Rosa Mexicano, but I am a big fan now. I think it was the best guacamole I have ever had, allthough it could have been a bit more spicy. But my cousin, who lives in Miami, told me that most dishes in Miami that are called 'spicy' is 'mild' to a European :-) And my image of Mexican food beeing somewhat unhealthy is also gone. I have the Pollo Pibil was wonderful, and the plantains made it a complete dish to die for! Enjoy!

Bar is small. 8 seats plus high tops. Happy hour everyday is pretty cool though. Ordered some "authentic" mex food. When it came out it was about enough to feed my 3 year old nephew for a snack. I left and hit up a food truck for $2 less and four times the food. The beer was cold and service was very good though. Being polite and smiling deserves an extra star in Miami

The short of it: - endless guacamole during happy hour - service can be slow during hh - good food, cheap prices - great ambiance - Fav: endless guacamole, chicken quesadilla The long of it: This review is for their happy hour only. Only in Miami can you get endless guacamole for $14! So amazing! I love their happy hour here! If I lived here, I would come all the time. This is a great location and they have outdoor seating which is perfect for when it's nice outside. They have several items on their happy hour menu, both food and drinks. Their cocktails are good especially the white sangria. The small plates are all $5 which is a real deal! I ordered flautas but for some reason their flautas here are made from corn tortilla not flour. It's hard to find a decent happy hour place with good food and decent prices so I would definitely recommend coming here. Don't expect fast service though. They seem to get slammed during happy hour so you have to wait awhile for your endless guacomole refills. So, glad I was able to come here during my trip!

I worked in the Brickell area for about 3 years and for the first 2 years the service at Rosa was horrible. Thankfully the last 3 times I've gone, the service was excellent. You can tell there are some new faces that are definitely eager to be there and the management team is always courteous and willing to help. The food, well of course, it's delicious. Sometimes I just go for the guacamole and delicious tea. Definitely a fan favorite. The flautas are delicious as are the enchiladas. My friends usually order the tacos or salads and they're always pleased. One thing I always appreciate is that it is consistently CLEAN! Thank-you!

Was OK. Very noisy place, so if you are intent on hearing a conversation across the table ... find a quieter place. Food menu items showed imagination, but presentation fell a bit short and overall it was a bit pricey. This was a large party, business after hours meeting.

HORRIBLE PLACE.... The employees are not friendly at all. A group of us (6) sat down for just some simple apps and a couple of drinks. The drinks took forever to get and the food was tasteless. I asked for an espresso that I never got and the pomegranate martini's tasted like medicine. We decided to just finish our drinks as much as we can and leave. When I asked for the check, it took literally 20 minutes. I paid cash and was waiting for my change to leave gratuity for the server, even thou they don't deserve anything, but being in the industry that is what they live on. So once I got my change, she shorted my change by $2. So I asked my am I short $2? She answered me "because I don't have the exact change to give you". Well I guess the shortage is now part of her tip. The customer service is the worst I have seen, and as you know in that industry it makes or breaks the place. I would never suggest this place not will I try it again.

I do not have a variety of things I have tried from this restaurant but what I have tried is great. I recommend swinging by while they are doing the fresh made bottomless guacamole. I believe it is from 4-7pm each day but not 100% sure and is $14 for 4 people. I have also had the chicken flautas which were pretty good but not as good as the guacamole.

I live in Brickell and have been to Rosa Mexicano many times. The food and atmosphere are always generally good which would lead me to a 4 star rating. I'm providing a 5 star rating for this particular location due to a recently superb experience. I ordered online delivery tonight (a Tuesday evening after a long, hectic work day) and received the highest standard of costumer service - an art that has truly been lost. The delivery was slightly late due to the call systems being down in my building and I providing the wrong number online through a typo. The delivery guy waited 10-20 minutes before he could be let up and asked not to be tipped. This was after the manager - Andrea -checked in several times to make sure I (the customer) was happy. The customer service experience actually made my night better. Hats off to RM in Brickell and Andrea in management!

Ok, so the reviews in this place are spot-on. The guacamole is awesome (might want to mash it up a bit if you like a creamy guac), but that's minor. Chips were good (not overly greasy or stale tasting)! Our server was fairly attentive - seemed like a guy with a big personality, but he was subdued given we had our little guy with us (4-year old). The food (tacos) were tasty - I've never had tacos served on the cast iron skillet with cheese underneath the meat, but it was a nice touch and the corn tortillas were good - my son hated his meal (steak tacos) the kids menu said that the kids meal (priced at 11.50) came with a juice box or milk and a scoop of ice cream that we never got, but the guy gave us some fresh juice of some sort (it was good, no doubt)... But - the bill came and I nearly choked! 91.00!!!!! Ninety one dollars for a family of 3 with guac?! Ummmm no thank you - the $4.50 juice that I thought was free for a child and the 11.50 tacos he barely touched ---- not again. Way too pricey and too trendy for our taste. Thanks, but no-thanks.

I can't believe this place is still open.. we were there for food and drinks. Some of us at the table ordered mixed drinks. The sangria tasted like fruit juice with sprite, their pomegranate martinis were like something they inject in your IV and their wine selection was horrible. Service? There wasn't any.. the drinks and appetizers took forever. Even the attentiveness was lacking. She didn't check on us once, so we decided not to order main courses . Thank goodness because the "table side" guacamole was tasteless. The water they served tasted like they took it from the miami waterways. All together, it was our worse miami experience. If they were to succeed, I'd strongly recommend seeking the advice of a hospitality consultant. Don't waste your money and time going here.

This is an expensive place to eat. Mexican food is made of simple ingredients and it shouldn't cost that much. Service is ok, although it was happy hour and we were not offered a cocktail menu. I ordered enchiladas suizas. The menu said it was a chicken tinga filling. I liked the creamy tomatillo sauce but did not care for the ground chicken filling. It was bland and dry. Definitely not tinga de Pollo in my book. My son enjoyed his carnitas tacos.

Great spot to satisfy your mexican food cravings. Nice selection of dishes during happy hour. The guacamole is fresh , same as the salsa and chips. Atmosphere is a bit more upscale. Seat outside if weather permits, is great for sightseeing. Staff is friendly.

Stopped in here for a quick bite during happy hour and also because they validated valet haha. And if you know about how busy Brickell can get, then you are pretty aware of the crazy parking situation. We ordered nachos and a side ordered of Mexican style corn, and were deeply disappointed. The tortilla chips seemed stale, and the cheese tasted like some cheap imitation cheese. Even the salsa that they bring to the table looked boring and tasted pretty dull. We've had better at Chevy's in Doral or even Taco Bell, honestly. Not impressed. The only thing that was actually good was the hot tea, which of course we prepared ourselves, so yeah that tasted good. Save your money, and look elsewhere for more authentic Mexican food. Don't think I will be returning unless I'm valeting my car and going elsewhere ;-)

I really love going to this place, especially the one in Brickell. finding so many options from around Mexico is just great. They have a short rib with this dark, smoky and fully flavored sauce that is just out of this world, you make tacos out of that with fresh made tortillas from their station. The guacamole is a starter, they come to our table and make it fresh, my friend's kid was able to stand on something designed for kids and was actually guided on how to prepare the gua for us, he got a cool apron as a gift too! Liberal was the kind gentleman that made our starter and we where amazed not only for his kindness, but also for the fact that he has been working there for a long long time, same story with Juan, the manager who stopped by for a sec to say hello and congrat little Mark for his guac skiils... lol. They carry lots of fine tequila and cocktails, I love the spicy Michelada. The environment is great, just check the pictures on their web!! they have a nice bar and outside area great for apps and happy hours and a side room for special events. One more thing.... Churros. The food is really bad. The staff doesn't pay attention to you, the drinks are always flat. This is not traditional MEXICAN food! Heck, it isn't even considered mexican food. Rather go to Taco Bell.. (So take it from there)

Rosa Mexicano is by far one of my top favorite restaurants to go. The hostess was so nice, didn't look like she hated her job, the server was very attentive, and the food was just divine! Licking my fingers and everything! Amazing place for a quite dinner date, love the ambience as well. Completely recommend it when in the Brickell area.

I have been coming to Rosa Mexicano (this and other locations) for a few years. The food has always been good and the service fair. I have not been to the Brickell location in a few months maybe even a year. I felt last night they really have stepped up their game. It must be a result of the new management (GM). We were taken care of as if we were in an upscale restaurant. My friend, my puppy and I got there around 6pm. We were sat immediately in the outside patio area. This is great because I had my pup also; my friend and I love to people watch. Within minutes of sitting down our waiter came to see if we had questions about the menu. We said no and he said he will bring water in the meantime. He came back with 2 glasses of water and a bowl of water for the pup. I thought that was great because I never mention the puppy and she was under the table out of sight. Plus she is 8lbs so it can be hard to notice her. This means he really pays attention to details or the staff of a great line of communication. The manger came to check on us, we had a question and asked him. He was polite and answered the question. Most restaurants the manger won't answer the question but get the waiter which makes for a longer waiting time. At that point we were ready to order and he took note of it and passed it to the waiter. I ordered the Filete con Hongos and my friend had the Carne Asada Tacos. I asked for my meat medium. It was slightly cooked over; I asked one of the manger s if this was medium for them. He said no it was medium well. He offered to send it back for the chef to redo it. I declined because I hate to send food back and I do not like to waste food. To my surprise the chef came out to apologize and explained some times when they pour the sauce on the steak it continues to cook it. This is not an often occurrence, the chef coming to apologize. Next time I go I know to order it medium rare! Since my steak was not cooked to my liking they gave me a free dessert. Over all the food was really good and the service was excellent. I am surely to come back again and this time I will not wait a year. Tip: if you like guacamoles go during happy hour because you get unlimited guac for the duration of the time, 4pm-7pm.

Honestly i do not know why i come back here. I know the food is ok at best and yet i have been here more than once. This is why you come here- for the guacamole that's it. everything here is blah. If your in the mood for some pomegranate frozen margaritas and yes i admit both locations are great (mary brickell and lincoln road) and i enjoy the frozen margarita and when you order guacamole someone will come to your table and make it in front of your table. I do like that part i never think the medium is spicy and i ordered spicy and i def. felt it. Its a chain and the food taste like it. Don''t get me wrong i do like chipolte and taco bell- i think they both taste better than this place.

This is not a perfect restaurant but they try really hard to give you an awesome experience, Food is delicious, the guacamole is great ( they might include a level of spicy "mexican spicy", because his hit spicy version is not so spicy for us) Desserts are great, sides, totopos... I can't tell you about cocktails because I don't drink alcohol, The place is clean, comfortable, and something that I really like is that they serve mexican food but they don't have mariachi sombreros, sarapes or nopal decorations... And the best? They care about what customers think, if you see something wrong or you have a bad experience, let them know, they will reach you to know the details and solve the problem, Is really good to have a place where you can go and you know they will do his best to give you a the best experience, Definitely my favorite place in Lincoln Road and till now in whole Miami as well... Hats off....

Rosa is a solid choice and consistently good. The guacamole is the best we have had at any restaurant in Miami. The margaritas are good. The food is very good and portions are large, so we usually split an entree and order guacamole. We like the chicken tacos, the enchiladas, the short rib, and the snapper. The flan surprised us with how good it was. We have also been for brunch and it was a great experience. Rosa Mexicano is the Starbucks of Mexican food. Consistently good - whether brunch, lunch, dinner, or happy hour - and you pay a small premium because you know what you are getting.

Went here for dinner on a Wednesday night. The table side guacamole service is awesome. The gauc was so good and it was a big portion! We got the pollo picado for the entree and it was ok. A little bland in flavor but overall it was ok.

I live in the area so I come here often. Great happy hour, great food, and wonderful service. Sarah is the sweetest thing. She checked on us multiple times during my most recent visit and was so accommodating. I can't express how awesome she is. I will be back again next week because of Sarah.

My lunch with my family was great at Rosa Mexicano. They had great food and staff too. Our waiter Mike helped us out with any problems that we had. They also had a great backround inside to including a water fall. Every thing in the resturant was great and satusfied with. The only thing I would suggest is to have more staff working because when we got there there was no one to show us our table until a few minutes. Other than that this meal was satusfied.

There are so many places to eat and celebrate in Brickell and I decided to celebrate at Rosa Mexicano for my bachelorette party dinner. Such a HORRIBLE experience. I'm still traumatized. The worst part is that I had been wanting to try this place for years and I was extremely disappointed, not so much because of the food, but because of the beyond horrible customer service! Let's just start off with the background. My sister planned this special day with the manager Mark via email for several days before and re-confirmed our reservation the day before with her original requests about having separate checks. He stated in the email that, although difficult for them, separate checks could be "accommodated" for us. All 16 of us arrived at the same time and we were seated right on time. Before our waiter started ordering our drinks, my sister told him that we spoke to the manager and he is aware we want separate checks. Our group decided from the beginning that we would have 3 separate checks. Our waiter just basically ignored what we said and told us not to worry that he would figure it out at the end. Then, Mark the manager comes in his round and my sister is excited to see him and brings up the separate checks again - he didn't seem to care what we had to say or our suggestion. He just wanted us to have a good time and they would figure it out. After ordering our drinks and dinner which that experience was ok, our check comes- all in one piece. Hello? Is this your way of figuring it out? I don't get it. We didn't even wait until the waiter came back. My sister and law and cousin went straight to Mark to tell him to split the check in three. They couldn't do it due to their "computer system". To make a long story short. It was so much back and fourth, we even got overcharged for entrees we didn't order. It was so sad that Rosa Mexicano ruined this special day for me. It was truly truly ruined. There was no reason for what happened. Especially since there was clear communication with the manager before stepping foot into this place. Everyone tried to lift the mood after a very negative ending before going to blue Martini for my Bachelorette Party. Which was also ruined because of everyone's mood. My sister received an email apologizing the next day by Mark offering the group a happy hour with frozen pomegranates and guac on him which was a nice move but he should put himself in our shoes....do you think we would ever want to step foot in there again after the very unhappy, chaotic experience we had to go through? Rosa Mexicano, you ruined the one special day I had to celebrate my bachelorette party, and I will never step foot in there again. If you're thinking of having a special event here, stay home in your PJs and order pizza with a friend- you'll be much better off.

Can't go wrong here. Their guacamole is done tableside, as you probably know, but the best part about it is that it's customizable to your tastes. I hate onions- so my guac had no onions - perfect! The mahi tacos were very delicious and service was great.

A few friends and I stopped by this Mexican place today for lunch. The host at the front desk was very inviting and smiley. To my surprise, it wasn't crazy busy for a Friday lunch, so we were attended to right away with waters and chips with salsa. We sat at a booth by the window inside, still able to people-watch and enjoy the cozy, colorful inside atmosphere. We ordered the guacamole, which was brought to us and made for us fresh at the table, so there's no question about the freshness of our guac! We ordered it so it wasn't too spicy for us, and it was great. It had a delicious light buttery taste to it. Recommend mild if you like spicy but not too strong. My friends got the Mahi Mahi Tacos and had no complaints, although they do recommend you let it sit for a minute before eating them so the tortilla gets softer. Also, the nachos were perfect! I got the Carne Asada Quesadillas. Everything was served on the side, which is nice because I got to put exactly how much of everything I wanted on them. I wasn't crazy about the corn tortillas but the steak was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I'll be back.

Super yummy authentic tacos! And the service was great! The grilled corn is my fav... I literally go there just because I crave that! The other great thing is I've never needed a reservation, even at 7pm on a Saturday night. It's always very easy to get in and out.

I'm from NYC and I'll tell you this Food was AMAZING.. Decor is cool and prices were reasonable.. Staff was pretty, friendly, and very helpful.. Got a shot of GRAN PATRON for $50 and the waitress even brought the bottle out to let me have a look so that was cool. Look how they make the GUACAMOLE right in front of you so you know its fresh and you even get a convo from the person making it.. Recommend this place to anyone!

I have a difficult time paying for overpriced Mexican food. I mean, lets get a grip on reality....do you really need to pay $16 for a quesidilla? $18 for a margarita??? That being said, this was the best quesadilla & margarita evaaaa! Like amazingly, lick the plate/glass good. However the $65 bill for a margarita, quesadilla & guacamole w/ chips is the reason for the 3 stars.

Came to Rosa with a large group. Despite this, service was excellent throughout our evening. The house guacamole was quite good, and their chips and salsa were quite adequate. The chicken flautas were a highlight -- definitely better than average. I'm an admitted queso lover, but the Queso Fundido (cheese with chorizo and peppers) was disappointing -- guessing that it suffered from Large Group Syndrome. The filet with mushroom-tequila cream sauce seemed more undercooked than tender, though the topping sauce was delicioso. The highlight of the night was the Enchiladas Suizas, made with a creamy tomatillo sauce -- totally delicious! The espresso-infused flan was a nice finish. Spicy margaritas were quite good, as were the pomegranate versions. Check it out...

After lots of different options in the Brickell area I chose Rosa Mexicano as the place where I will go celebrate with a group of friends my husband's birthday. I will start with the service: Mediocre, the waiter was not attentive, really didn't care to please us, the clients. My glass of water was always empty, I had to keep asking to get it filled. The waiter was lost most of the times, we had to ask other waiters to call him. When it comes to food.. A lot to be desired. The person that does the guacamole came To the table and didn't even introduce himself. Didn't asked if it was ok to put everything and the white onions really was a shocker. I had the tacos and the meat although I asked to be medium it was well done and tough. My husband had the short rib enchilada and it was really bad. It tasted old. Churros were burned and the guy that bought them to the table had the worse attitude ever. I personally don't like Complaining but this has to be the worse experience I've had ever had at a restaurant. The food it's overpriced and the service it's horrible. I want to mention as well that not once did I see any managers doing rounds asking how everything was.

Good mexican is hard to find in Miami, but Rosa Mexicano is as good as it gets here. Big fan of the nachos and cheese enchiladas. My friends like the fajitas. The chile relleno is also great. A little pricey, but that's expected for Miami, but at least the food is good.

I dined here twice and both times I was not impressed. Both queso dips were disgusting. The enchiladas were not impressive either. Service was fine. Sangria was good. Will not dine here again. Drinks only.

  • German M.

Rosa Mexicano is a place for friends most (not a romantic dinner) as it's very loud. The guacamole and white sangria were delicious. You can have tapas and share or your own meal. It's conveniently located very close to the clubs and bars in Brickell. It's pricey but they do have to pay for rent in Brickell!

I had to update my review! I came by last night and I must say this place was beyond amazing. We came in and were sat down right away. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. I ordered the table side guacamole, and we all agreed it was delicious. I again ordered the steak tacos and were amazing as before. The drinks were great. My daughter's meal was awesome according to her. It was accompanied by dessert which is always a plus. The atmosphere, the service, and food were 5 stars. Will definitely be returning.

I had made a reservation for a large group for my wife's birthday and I don't think I've EVER experienced a lack of service and ambiance at this level at a restaurant before. Or table was set up in a large side room (think convention hall looking) with no one else in there. It was so poorly lit that we could barely read our menus. And it seemed like they were understaffed because our waitress would disappear for very long intervals. Thee were supposed to be welcome drinks for the guests and there weren't and several drink orders never arrived until after repeated requests. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars instead of one is because the food was good. Honestly though, I can think of at least three other Mexican restaurants where the food is equal or better, the prices are definitely better and are more fun to visit.

Tonight my girlfriend and I were in the mood for Mexican and we are new to living in Brickell so we tried Rosa's we were skeptical at first but when Juan the Manager came to our table and introduced him self and explained the menu it relaxed us and we both really enjoyed the food. The guacamole was delicious, I had pollo it was like chicken fajitas with melted Mexican cheese and Maria had the fish tacos. Both entrees were very tasty. We will be dining at Rosa's again.

Visiting with a friend in the Brickell area. We had dinner at Rosa Mexicano our first night in town and fell in love with this place. The guacamole is absolutely delicious! Friendly service, good food, great drinks :) Ended up coming back to this place the following night for dinner and I would come back again when I'm in the area. All in all we tried the Baja tacos, queso fundido, camarones al pastor, jaiba enchiladas and tampiquena de carne asada. Mexican street corn elotes were one of my favorite side dishes as well.

way back in 2007 food was amazing. my favorite plate was ROAST DUCK ON RASBERRY SAUCE and sweet potatos but that was taken off the menu. so now it's like any other regular mexican place . waiter was horrible he was more focus on the hot women in table.next to me.. he so did not get a tip. food was really bad. no taste!!!!

I live in Brickell, and am a regular at many of the establishments in Mary Brickell Village. I've gotta say, I just wasn't that blown away by Rosa Mexicano. Part of the reason I haven't been before, their happy hour ends at 7, as opposed to 8 like many of their neighbors. Additionally, you can only get HH specials at the bar, or on the patio. The service was just ok. He was polite and fairly responsive, but really flat-line, personality wise. But, our water glasses were kept full, and we weren't left waiting for the check, so fairly solid for Miami, overall. The food was pretty good. My girlfriend had enchiladas and I had the carnitas tacos. No real complaints, foodwise. The real reason for the 3-star rating is the price/experience ratio. If you're going to charge $19 for pork tacos in the LAND of pork tacos, they had better be fantastic. Honestly, I've had better a lot of places that charged a lot less. Between that, the luke-warm service, and the overall vibe of the place, I doubt I'll be back. Too bad, since I live so nearby.

I have been here a couple of times and I am not coming back. This place is extremely expensive for what you get. I had lunch there ordered the enchiladas, tacos, a diet coke an a Michelada and ended up paying almost $100 before tip. I don't mind paying the right price for the right food, service and restaurant ambience in general and this place does not meet most of these. Incredibly frustrating to leave a restaurant and think you were pretty much robbed. You can go to many authentic restaurants, eat great, have a few beers and stll pay less than half of what you'd pay at Rosa Mexicana. I hate writting this type of reviews but people need to know. Hope this helps!

It was my first time in this place and The last time too , if You Want to spent money on mediocre food then go Ahead , we were a party of six we got the 25 dollars per person deal , we got two appetizers for the table guac and queso fundido , guac was ok nothing that impressed me, firstable the guy came to do the guac and didn't even say hello to us and did guac with wht onions , real guac is made with red onions , I had the chile poblano and it was ok . my boyfriend had the carne asada and he said it was very chewy . We ordered the sangria , we started with the white but it was not good at all so we tried the red one , a little better but not good either , they have a large menu of tequila if that's what u like .the service was horrible too, they take for ever for everything and they didn't check on us in long time . At the end they brought the churros which they were overcooked and hard, to end this bad experience they bring you the check ... Sit tight because you probably Fell of the chair ... $$$ Bottom line it was not good at all , I will never recommend this place .

Solid sit down Mexican place. More SoCal/Baja really. We came for lunch and I had the table side guacamole which was really tasty and there was a lot of it for two people. I also got the Baja tacos and they were great. T got some grilled shrimp tacos prepared Baja style. Every ingredient on the taco had a nice flavor and the Jalapeno Tartar is spicy good. They also come with rice and beans for the table which was a nice treat but also turned out to be way too much food after eating three or four avocados. Miami isn't a place you want your stomach bulging mid day from too much lunch or ever really. Food and service seemed to take awhile but it's a nice place to be in if you're not in a hurry.

Guacamole made to order at your table? Yes thank you!!! Seems that Rosa Mexicano is an expert at making guacamole. So many ingredients that are mixed, those Haas avocados full of flavor and the ingredients that make it a perfect combination is the winner for this place. All mexican, although I missed Cochinita Pibil or Tacos al Pastor... where is it? Other than that, food is good, nice ambiance and good service.

I can't believe it, I was recommended this place, the only good food was the guacamole, the food was terrible, the service was great, I have to agree to that.. Sorry guys but if you fix your food, the guacamoles will win me back.

I went to Rosa Mexicano and absolutely fell in love with everything from the tableside prepared guacamole and fresh warm corn chips to the homemade desserts. I recommend the Tres Leches OMG best dessert ever.... So many places to eat in Brickell, but not many have such an amazing server like the one we had. He was so professional and always making sure that everything was fine (Yasmani). We had such an amazing time that we will definitely come back soon, I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant.

I tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago and fell in love! There is not many places around me that offer good Mexican food but this one definitely does! A must try is the cheese appetizer they have which is delicious and super fresh. I love the fajitas as an entree. I'm hoping to go again and try one of their desserts!

I had dinner here the other night and all I can say is "wow". To start off when you walk in the ambience is great. There is a large fountain running down a wall which I absolutely adored. I just love a restaurant with a good vibe as soon as you sit down and that is what I got. Our server I believe his name was Desmony was very welcoming and gave us great food recommendations. To start off we had the table side guacamole, which was the freshest I have ever tasted and they make it right in front of you so it was a great presentation. Then I had the flautas de pollo which was chicken wrapped in 3 tortillas topped with deliciousness. My husband had the baja tacos which were great and the corn that came with it was out of this world. The restaurant even went above and beyond by having the manager check on the table to see how everyone was doing. The only complaint I have was being too full to try other dishes. Everything was terrific, we will definitely be back.

We called around 5 to ask if they had happy hour drinks and unlimited guacamole today. The hostess that answered said yes to both but only in the bar/lounge; so we showed up today, Valentine's Day at 6:00pm to make it for some guac & a couple drinks with our family. We asked the male bartender for the happy hour menu and the female, tall, heavy set, blonde bartender interrupted him very rudely without looking at us and said there's no happy hour today cause it's Valentine's Day. We started to explain to the male bartender that the hostess said there was happy hour til 7 and she again interrupted him and said without looking at us no happy hour today because it's a holiday. Firstly I did NOT appreciate her attitude towards us, treating us like we were beneath her, due to the fact she didn't even look at us or explain in a professional courteous fashion. She blatantly treated us like peons and we were going to be paying patrons just asking a simple question to someone that wasn't her. I honestly don't think my family or myself will ever set foot there again. Unless, a manager or someone convinces us otherwise on yelp as others have.

If the guacamole weren't so overpriced. ($14) or even ($28) when they add that extra avocado without confirming the up charge I'd give this location 4 stars. However, most items on the menu are tasty. Not authentic Mexican but certainly tasty. The flautas were not my favorite. The Sangria is certainly a must. Outside seating is also in order. To date, my favorite location is in DC. I was not a fan of the Rosa Mexicano in South Beach.

This was our first time here. We saw some good reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The thing that really drew us here was the tableside guacamole. I was very excited to give it a try. Unfortunately, we chose to sit on the patio and weren't able to have the tableside prep (we didn't know this until the guacamole was brought out) so we paid the full price, but didn't get the extra service. I still give it 4 stars because the food was delicious. Best guacamole I've had in a long time. The rest of our meal was pretty delicious too. If I'm ever back in Miami, I will definitely head back to Rosa Mexicano and will sit in the dining area this time.

My husband and I were going to call the manager but decided to share this on the Yelp review. We had not gone to the restaurant in years and thought we would give it a try and do take out. We ordered the chicken and vegie dish, churassco steak, chili and beans and rice came with it. We also got guacamole and chips for an appetizer. The bill with tip for take out was $80.00 The chicken was dry and tasteless. The steak was bland and tasteless. The chili was just as bad and the only thing we enjoyed was the guacamole and chips. We literally threw out the entire rest of the dinner. We will never go back there again and was so incredibly disappointed to not only waste good money but to get such a horrible meal. The only reason I gave this one star is you had to put something.

We had reservations at 9:45 on New Year's Eve. Arrived a little early and the hostess told us our table was being prepped. She then proceeded to seat table after table for 30 minutes. Without explanation and with a few rolls of the eyes. We had to complain several times before a manager asked a table that had long since finished eating from the previous seating to leave. He did all he could after that and the guacamole was great. My rib eye was room temp but I was full from the chips and appetizer. I don't expect great service or great good on New Years, but don't make me wait 45 for both. Probably will not be back

We chose this place thinking it would have more choices based on the Menu they had outside (we only briefly looked) and were surprised by their short menu selection. Restaurant is a more upscale Mexican dinning experience. Nice decor. We sat in the outside patio. Appetizers: Ordered of course their "famous" guacamole.. it was actually very good! They could not make it table side because we were sitting outside but you can tell it was freshly made. Its a pretty large portion, we were 4 people and ordered the 2-3 portion. It was enough. We also had the Platanos Fritos - fried plantains - with Crema and some queso on top. It was deeelish! Main Course: Amongst the table we had the Carne Asada and Chicken "tacos" - but they were both basically fajita style. We got rice (more like quinoa) and refried black beans for the table. At first they only brought out one bowl of each and we were 4 of us! so we had to ask for more and more tortillas, but they were more than willing to bring it out. The flavouring was good and toppings were good as well. Just not sure if this place is really worth the price! It is on the expensive side, but was a good experience.

Prepared-to-Order Guacamole is the best dish at this restaurant, in my opinion. Everything else was ok, and very pricey. The signature cocktails were interesting and flavorful. I believe happy hour at this place would be good. The food/value ratio needs to increase for us to return. Otherwise a bust!

I guess this place's reviews will depend on what you order just like many other restaurants. Our experience was pretty good. We ordered the Lunch Crunch special: LUNCH CRUNCH (RAPIDITOS) A COMPLETE SCHOOL LUNCH FOR THOSE ON A TIME CRUNCH! Guacamole With chips Sopa de Tortilla/Tortilla Soup Pasilla chile, grilled chicken, avocado and crema. Taco del Día/Taco of the Day Chef's selection. Flan de Rosa/Espresso Flan Vanilla flan infused with espresso. Everything was great! The taco of the day was fish tacos and that was excellent. I also ordered some ice coffee and they bring you a small pitcher of coffee with cream and water sugar! We sat outside in the patio and it was a beautiful day. I would go back here.

Good food, good service. They make killer Micheladas [make sure to order with Modelo especial] The restaurant has a nice outside seating eating area, where we sat, and would recommend to everyone during the cooler months. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because our guacamole has way too much cilantro and was too chunky. It seemed as if the person preparing it table-side wasn't too enthusiastic about his job. Everyone else seems to enjoy theirs so even with that minor setback we had a great experience. Enjoy!

I've been here many times. The guac is very good. The Miami Spice lunch is good for 2 or more. I was forwarded an article that they have a special Passover price fixe menu. I had to try it...they had chopped liver, haroset, matzohs, matzoh ball soup among other delicious dishes. The combination of Jewish and Mexican was very cool.

Food was amazing! The serving portion was a bit small but it's filling. The guacamole was made right in front of me and I couldn't get enough. I would definitely make the drive for this place. The only thing I dont like is trying to find parking there.

I was looking forward coming to this restaurant. I went on a friday for lunch. The service was slow from the server. He took my order all at once & i was hoping to get my margarita with my appetizer but no instead he brought it to me when i had the dessert, he didn't even apologize for it. The only good thing is the guacamole & the margaritas. I would not go back there.

I agree with all the other reviewers, over priced mexican food however... They are doing things to change that !! I went yesterday for lunch, they now have a pre fixed menu for 19.95 and you get to pick one appetizer and one entree. We had the pollo flautas with sauces to the side. Delish. Had the carne asada tacos which comes with green cilantro rice and mashed black beans. Very yummy too! The fresh guacamole is always great! To top things off, the service was really great. The girl was patient, she was proactive in explaining to us the options and made adjustments to our order with a great attitude.

We called only a few hours ahead on Valentines Day and they have us a reservation. We arrived early and they still seated us. The waiter was very good. All the wait staff was. The food was outstanding and the margaritas were some of the best we've had. Highly recommend and we are heading back there again in a couple of days.

I'm Mexican and the food at this place is not good, not to mention overpriced. It is bland, and the quality is not where it should be for the prices they charge. The only two things worth it are the decor and the margaritas. If you are really into Mexican food this is not the place for you.

**GREATEST MEXI HAPPY HOUR IN SOBE** We were looking for Doraku Sushi and accidentally stumbled upon Rosa Mexicano at 1111 Lincoln Road on a busy Saturday night. And luck was on our side. A group table suddenly was available and I immediately snatched it. Ambiance was very nice. Modern with projector art on the back walls of the bar. Beautiful lofty space with great lighting. Everything on the HH menu was under $5. ORDERED: *PORK BELLY STREET TACOS (2 per order) *WHITE SANGRIA *MARGARITA *GUAC (not on the HH menu, but highly recommended) Everything we consumed was delicious. I especially loved the white sangria. Service was slow at times but friendly and acceptable. RECOMMEND their Happy Hour.

Came in later on a Friday. The place was busy but not too busy- it only took about 15 minutes to get a seat. Just enough time to grab a drink from the bar! My husband had the Miami-jito: a mojito with tequila! I did NOT like that.. I don't know why but just didn't. I had the Francesca Margarita though with gran marnier and THAT was good. One lasted me the whole meal and was totally worth the $13/$14. Dining there was pretty fun, we ended up with a smorgasborg of Mexican food on our table. We started with the cheese fondue. It was a little less liquidy then I would've liked- you had to spread it on the bread rather than dip it. I don't regret getting it but probably wouldn't get it again. My husband ordered the pork/scallop tacos- yes pork and scallops! It ended up being a good combination. The tacos came with a big serving of rice and beans on the side. I ordered the tortilla soup and a side of the plantains. Everything was pretty tasty but not all of it was WOW. The rice was a little dry, but nicely flavored; the black beans were good, I think they made them like refried beans? I've never had black beans like that so that was cool. My favorites were the soup and plantains. The soup had a nice smokey flavor and I loved the pieces of avocado. The plantains were just right- not too greasy or dry and served with a cream sauce. I think when I come back I'll stick with margs, sides, and come with someone who likes guac so I can have some of that (it looked amazing)!

Juan and his staff were great. I celebrated my wife's birthday last week in Miami and I spoke with Juan prior to reservations. Juan made sure the cake delivery was accepted and everyone from the hostess to my waiter really help out. Customer service was spectacular. Meal was great and is a little pricey but it Miami, everything is expensive. Great atmosphere and not to noise like other restaurants. Good experience and would resturn Guacamole is great and you must get it when you go and good variety of Tequila which is always a plus.

Rosa is an expensive Mexican place, which is an oxymoron to begin with. The food is good but it's not worth the expensive prices in my opinion. The time to go to Rosa is during happy hour when you can get their delicious margaritas at a reasonable price with their homemade guacamole. Skip the main dining room and entrees to have a great experience.

I originally wanted to go to El Vato down the block, but for some reason they were closed on a Sunday afternoon. Ended up going here, being sucked in by the "$3 Frozen Pomegranate Margarita" sign out front. I should have known what to expect when the frozen margarita came in a shot glass (slight exaggeration). The waiter asked "How do you like your guacamole?", not "Do you want to order guacamole?", so I assumed it was free. They make it in front of you, fresh. Quite tasty. But not worth $14. We had the roasted chicken salad ($11), which was terrible, and the steak sandwich ($13), which is actually pulled beef short ribs, whose only redeeming value was that it came with sweet potato fries. Avoid.

Went for Miami Spice 2012, despite the selections not the best spice participating restaurant. Service was awful, couldn't flag down waiter who took forever to bring any of our dishes out (took 20 minutes to bring drinks, even though the restaurant wasn't even half full), and the food was nothing special. Best thing about it was the fresh guacamole stand which travels to your table, where it is made right in front of you. Too bad we were waiting for so long for him to make it so quickly that it was like eating slices of avocado tossed with tomato, onion, and cilantro.

We love Rosas on Brickell. It is a happy hour ritual. Naomi and Romy and Mark at the main bar are spectacular. Always remember your drinks. It's the Brickell Mexican version of Cheers. We love the new addition to the offerings of chips and salsa and the bottomless guacamole until 7pm for Happy Hour is this girls dream. Awesome way to start the weekend - love going there to eat dinner too but the bar is where its at and you don't want to miss the Heat games since they have them on the screens. LOVE LOVE LOVE must go

I feel terrible giving this place such a low rating but I absolutely think its over rated. I've been here on three seperate occassions for lunch and I have not left happy once. I had the steak tacos recently and although the steak was great everything else was not. The sauce for the tacos were extremely spicy and the flour tortillas tasted like cardboard. A week later I am forced to go back to this place for a corporate lunch meeting and this time I try the chicken quesadillas.. I had 2 and took the rest to the office to share. The quesadillas were very thin and came out rather cold, I felt there was no flavor no matter how much I added to it, such as the guacamole, sour cream etc. I did enjoy the melted cheese fondue but I refuse to give them credit for knowing how to melt cheese and put it on a dish. As for the service it is mediocre and nothing to write home about. This place is absolutely not worth it, maybe for cocktails but I wouldn't know.

Yuk, I won't go unless its somebodies special request for their "special" day. For all the pomp around the drinks and food... Drinks are WEAK (how do you make weak tequila drinks is beyond me) the food is some Guatemalan's interpretation of Mexican food, its BLAND! and sloppy. Take one "hotness pepper" away for each listing, they are weak as well.

First time there and I went with friends. I had the Chicken Tortilla Pie. It had a hint of nutmeg and I'm not crazy about nutmeg so it was just okay. But the guacamole was OUTSTANDING!! For my next visit, I'll just stick with the quacamole and chips plus a margarita and I'll skip the entree.

Horrible. Went there and it took 20 minutes for a waiter to come. It was practically empty. We went with the guacamole first because I've heard good things. Two guys come to my table and one is training the other guy and it takes about ten minutes to make guacamole which is something most people know how to make. And if they were gonna teach someone, shouldn't they have done it in the back? Not creating an awkward ten minutes. I then order a Margarita. It came in a tumbler with table salt on the rim. wtf? The waitress then apologized and said the bartender didn't know his to make a Margarita. This is a Mexican restaurant mind you. I order the tacos which come with half dollar sized tortillas and u have to make your own tacos. The only ingredients are meat, beans (which look like bat crap) and this weird corn/milk combo. My brother ordered enchiladas, which only yielded two enchiladas smothered in what looked like Nickelodeon slime. Horrible food, horrible service.

Avoid this place at all costs. If you're stuck in the Mary Brickell Village and have your heart stuck on Mexican, go to Baja Fresh because its 100x better than this place. Way too Pricey for the quality of food and service. Where to begin...it literally took us 15 minutes to get a server to our table. Mind you we were 2 of the 15 customers in the restaurant (Thursday at 4pm). When he got there he was very short with us and rude and uninformative. He pushed the "Fresh made Guacamole" so we decided to get it since the reviews here mentioned it was good and how the server was all about it. The 'Fresh made Guac' which is their calling card, was not freshly made in front of us - it looked like it was sitting in the back for a while. Nicely ripped off the $16.00 it costs. When he brought it out he asked us if we were ready to order. We needed just a minute and told him to come back in 2 minutes because we were between two meals. He never came back. After another 15 minutes we flagged the manager, got our check and walked out. We went across the street to PF Chang's which was amazing. The service was impeccable as was the food and attitude.

The food is okay. Not the best Mexican, but pretty good. They serve mostly everything with a bowl of a special yellow rice and pureed black beans, which I guess is called Mole (not sure). This place is known for their frozen Pomegranite Margaritas and their Guacamole dip. You can go there just for that basically. The ambience and the decor is beautiful.

My wife and I had been wanting to try out this restaurant for a while because we both like Mexican food. My wife has family that lives in Guadalajara and we've visited and eaten the local fare. Maybe that's why I was expecting a little more from Rosa Mexicano. Don't get me wrong, the food is very good, but it's very pricey and not all that ethnic. We had an enjoyable time and liked the atmosphere, but Rosa Mexicano will not be a "Mexican" restaurant that I frequent.

I went to Rosa Mexicano yesterday after looking to take advantage of Miami Spice month. The restaurant itself has a very nice ambiance with low lighting, and I guess we can call it modern mexican-like decor. My friend and I both decided on the Miami Spice menu. For appetizer, we had the ceviche and the guacamole. The ceviche was pretty good. The guacamole was made in front of us. We ordered it medium, but it wasn't spicy at all. It wasn't too die for, but was pretty okay. To drink I had, the classic margarita. I'm a margarita lover, and I actually did enjoy it. The entree I chose was the Alambre a la Mexicana. Super Delicious! It was composed of sausage and steak with rice and 2 different sauces. Definitely recommended. For dessert, we had a cheesecake and flan. The flan wasn't the flan I was used to. It had a nice chocolate coffee taste. I'm not a flan lover, but I enjoyed this one. The restaurant is pricey, but expected when dining in the brickell area. Service was also great. The waiter was always there when needed.

Best place for Mexican food in Miami but, they need to do something about those margaritas they over price & to be honest you couldn't tell the upgrade from the house margarita ... Please staff work on it !!!!!!!!!

So they opened Rosa Mexicano in Lincoln rd. Of course I had to go and eat there since I have already been to the one in brickell and to be honest, I liked it very much. However, this time I was totally disappointed. First the hostess was so rude, after waiting 20 min for a table, I politely ask her, if everything is ok with our table, and she answers me with an attitude: "She wrote your name, you just have to keep waiting" oh hell no!!! I only stayed because my friend wanted mexican that day. When we finally get our table, Claudia, the waitress takes our order. Claudia this place is good only because of you. we ordered the Guac which is always good, enchiladas suizas which are my favorite, but felt like they could step it up and chicken quesadillas (can do so much better than that, they are not 6 bucks, please people!!) and their pomegranate margaritas ..... If the food and the service is not good, at least get your drinks right!!! not coming back. Definitely not worth it.

upscale chain brickell village has grown remarkably in popularity fyi: between 3 and 5 pm, the menu is very limited. I tried the Mole de Xico Two soft corn tortillas filled with shredded chipotle beef, topped with Veracruz mole made with raisins, plantains, hazelnuts, pine nuts and mulato, ancho and pasilla chiles -- tasted sweet

I used to be a total Rosa addict when I worked on Brickell... I would go there a few times a week for lunch, dinner or happy hours with my colleagues. Unfortunately lately the management, service and food has really done downhill. They went through a bunch of different managers in a short period of time, got a new chef, and it seems like everyone is running around with their head cutoff now. Last time I went it even took 20 minutes to get the guacamole guy to wheel his cart over to make our guacamole. Our enchiladas came out cold in the middle and we had to send them back, then it took over 25 minutes for them to come back out... by which time everyone else was totally finished with their food. I asked for the manager and there wasn't even one there, it was one of the waiters filling in that day. I would have previously given this place 5 stars without a doubt but now its just not as good.

Pleasantly surprised at the high level of food quality and the attentive service. Like most larger Mexican restaurants, it has a menu full of non Mexican items; salmon, hamburgers, and other Americanized choices. Once you get beyond that, the authentic items are much better than expected and super tasty. The table side guacamole was excellent, and they served it with both chips and small corn tortillas. Small "salsas" were provided, permitting you to make it spicy or smoky to your taste. Delicious. For lunch main courses, we had the tacos- choice of meat served in a mini skillet with sides of rice, black bean purée, a delicious corn salsa/slaw, and decent beans flavored with chorizo. My pork was fork tender, shredded and absolutely heavenly. The mini corn tortillas were awesome, allowing you to make then just how you like them. Even the chicken my wife ordered - with grilled peppers and onions - was steaming hot and flavorful. The flavor of everything was rich and authentic, and the service friendly and quick.

The place is good but way overpriced. Guacamole is $28..why? Becuase they make it in front of you and serve it in a rustic bowl? It was flavorless. The food was nice, but was not marked as spicy on the menu yet was quite spicy. I think the place tries to be too Miami..fancy styled dishes of all sorts but not the type of Mexican food people really dig like Fajitas, etc...

Once again, I grow increasingly tired of people complaining about price. People, you cannot price everything under the same umbrella. You have to understand where you are and why you are there. It's not that a lobster tail at at China Grill is 5 times better than the lobster at Versailles, it's that China Grill is on the corner of 5th and Washington, in a beautiful space and Versailles bought their property in Calle Ocho 50 years ago, whilre China Grill has to pay a monster lease for that humongous space in trendy Sobe. So, you have to recognize where you are and stop saying things like, why should I pay $13 for a burrito at Rosa Mexicano when I can get one that just as good, if not better at Mr. Moe's for $6.95. Yes, Mr. Moe's is great, fast and conveniently located in a strip mall on Calle Ocho. You go there for a quick bite , dressed in shorts and "chancletas" and you can get a fine burrito for $6.95. But you are not going out to dinner in a beautifully decorated space on Brickell with quality food, service and atmosphere. You have to differentiate what's what to properly determine the value of things. Is Rosa Mexicano an expensive Mexican restaurant. I guess as far as Mexican restaurants go, on average, I guess so. I mean, most Mexican restaurants are found on strip malls, places like Calle Ocho, etc... I take it that you also believe that PF Chang's, across the street, is a grossly overpriced Chinese restaurant. I guess it is too because I can get a chicken lo mein from Canton for $6.95 and at PF's Chang I have to pay $10 bucks. Come on people. Pay attention to where you are and stop complaining about prices. Rosa Mexicano has some great options on the menu. Their guacamole is good, not perfect, but good. Their fajitas with that cheese melted all over the skillets are delicious. The toppings are outrageous, with some of the best refried beans I've ever tasted and a delicious corn w/cream that I simply must have more of. The churros for desert are fantastic. The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant are very nice. The service is very good and the prices are very reasonable for an establishment that has to pay for a 10,000 sq. ft. space in the heart of Brickell. I do agree with one complaint on here. I too like my Mexican, Thai, Indian, etc... VERY SPICY and here, they don't do spicy. I asked for everything spicy and I asked that they bring out their hottest sauce... unfortunately, even on a special request, the hottest sauce they served was barely mild. I think that at a good Mexican restaurant you should at least have the option to burn your mouth a bit. Other than that, I really like this place and can't find anything else to complain about.

We went for lunch, and felt a bit under-dressed with one of us in a t-shirt. A sign at the front desk states that shirts with sleeves are required for men at dinner, and caps are not allowed. The lunch menu was quite limited. Our waiter was friendly but a bit pushy. Service was somewhat slow. The decor was notable for being eclectic; the walls are bright colors as are some large decorative pottery on some walls. Other walls are adorned with primitive masks and geometric shapes. The food was quite excellent. The fajita plate came with a decent number of tortillas (so many restaurants only give you 3 or 4), and the meat was extremely tender and marinated in pure tastiness. The cheese and mushroom tortilla came with a very flavorful sauce that hid a surprising level of spice for a 'mild' item. I thought the price high for lunch, although it's comparable to other restaurants in the area. If it fits in your budget, I'd certainly give it a try.

I went to Rosa Mexicana when i lived in New York and was very disappointed. You can imagine how surprised I was to see one open up 15 years later in Miami.. I thought maybe they improved things (given that they are still around and growing) so i took my fiance' there last night to give it a try since Mexican food is god's gift to mankind. I was born in italy but my father re-married in Mexico when i was young and so i've grown up half-chicano and half-dego :-) (i know good food) We tried to eat at RM a month ago but the wait was 2 hours on a friday night so i went to my usual mexican place (Mi Rinconcito on calle ocho). I was hoping to find no line on a tuesday night but there was still a 30-minute wait!...... this place must rock! We finally get a table in the (very) noisy restaurant and order the requisite guaco, not bad. We then order the cochinita pibil and the filled ancho chilis... I have to say the service was miserable, my beer was brought to me only after i finished my meal.. the chilis were stuffed with regular button mushrooms and spinach.. the waitress said they were very spicy but in fact the dish was very bland.. they also left the skin on the chilis which was too tough to eat, they should have either roasted them more or removed the skin. The pibil was ok but nothing special. The meals came with "family-style" rice and beans but in fact were no larger than a single portion anywhere else.. plus the beans were mashed black beans rather than whole pinto.. what's with that? If i wanted black beans and rice i would've gone to Versailles. To sum up, the place is still as it was in New York.. i.e. Over-priced non-burrito dishes for the yuppie gringo who knows no better and is too good to drive his new benz to the real mexican place in the ghetto. Sorry Rosa, but i should have been paid the $60 for putting up with the loud ambiance, poor service just for a plate of so-so food. Mi Rinconcito is still the best Mexican food in Miami by far. I used to live in DC and ate at their restaurant there many times and loved it. Stumbled upon the Miami location and had a late lunch. The La Unica margarita was perfect. But the chicken taco dish was more like fajitas, not traditional tacos. Chicken and grilled peppers were in a bowl with soft mini corn tortillas served on the side. There was a small bowl of beans, some corn in a white sauce, and another bowl of spicy sauce. No fried taco shell and I had to assemble my own "tacos". What?? And it didn't get better with dessert. The flan lacked the denseness and the rich, eggy flavor that is key. And finally, with only 3 other tables occupied the service wasn't all that attentive. I'll try dinner the next time I'm in Miami and maybe I can up the stars, but for now, sorry, it's just a 2. (BTW, I was raised in S. Texas so I know what Mexican flan and tacos are supposed to taste like.)

I'm truly a fan of little Mexican stands, little taquerias, Mexican street food, and hole in the wall Mexican restaurants. That doesn't mean that I can't enjoy and appreciate a place like Rosa Mexicano- a yuppie American take on Mexican food. The atmosphere has Mexican spirit with a classy vibe to it mixed with a lil bit of that American hole in the wall party spot you'll often find in high tourist areas in Mexico. The idea of having the guacamole made right next to you is a mouth-watering concept that I hadn't experienced before. The guacamole is what saves this place from the realm of "decent" and propels it into the realm of "this is awesome! more margaritas!" I can never get enough of that guacamole. I like it really spicy. The cochinita pibil was juicy, tasty, and came accompanied with excellent corn tortillas the way they have them in Mexico: small, hot and fresh. The pomogranate margaritas were the perfect beverages to accompany the soft pork, the addicting guacamole, and the mouth-watering side dishes that Rosa Mexicano can whip up for you in exchange for ludicrously high amounts of money.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization.
