Rincon Escondido is truly a hidden gem. I live near by and have walked by it and not given it a second thought. Do not let the small space fool you the favors are on point! We have had almost the entire tapas menu and there are almost no low points. My favorite things on the menu are the fried garbanzos which we keep trying to reproduce at home with no success, the croquetas and the papas bravas. It's some of the best food in the area, but only open for dinner!

Come on down....great food! Shared 4 tapas and the food was very good. Hardly any wait, the food is cooked as you order...fresh, well-seasoned, tasty...I really can go on and on. I was going to order an entree but the server said that he thought the tapas would be enough. He was right! Stuffed to the gills! Rincon Escondido is now add to my favorite list! People, do not take my word for it...come and try for yourselves. Parking is horrible but the food is so worth it! I had to come to say...found out that our server was the owner!! Nice man!

It's a shame I never wrote a review for this place before - it would have been a lot better than this one. I used to come here pretty often when I lived just down the block - it was one of my favorite places to stop in to have lunch when I was running errands or something similar. However, I went back a couple weeks ago after a long hiatus and I was really disappointed. Both the food and the service were very uneven and a huge letdown. On top of that, it seems they've pared down their menu a bit, and some things I used to really enjoy are no longer offered. My boyfriend and I ordered a few tapas to share - patatas bravas, bombas de queso, garbanzos fritos, and one of their octopus dishes. While the bombas and the garbanzos were very tasty, their patatas have never been my favorite but they're OK, and the octopus just wasn't good at all. Even though it was cooked properly the flavor as all wrong. This dish had so much paprika you could barely taste the food. I love paprika and even for me this dish was outrageously overseasoned. The worst part is that it took nearly 45 minutes for this dish to come out. Each of the tapas came separately, which is fine, but a few minutes before the octopus arrived I asked if we could cancel it because it had been 15-20 minutes since we had been served anything else and it was just taking way too long. The waiters attitude was simply that everything is made fresh in house so that's how long it takes. Honestly, if I wanted to wait 45 minutes for a meal I would just cook it for myself at home. Also, on their menu, on the Paella for example, it says a 45 minute wait can be expected. So in come cases they do indicate that you'll be waiting a while if you order a particular dish. Because it took about that long and wasn't listed as something that you would grow old waiting to eat, I think it's likely the chef just forgot to make it or the waiter forgot to send it and instead of admitting as such just tried to make me feel like an asshole instead. It also seems like they've raised their prices some - and even if they haven't I was surprised to see that for a few tapas and a beer our tab was $70. The fact that the food was disappointing once wouldn't be enough to make me not return - however the waiter's terrible attitude when the service really was poor definitely makes me think twice about coming back.

Every time I walk into this place I feel like I'm transported somewhere else, the décor, the music, the service... this is not your typical Miami restaurant, it's not upscale, it's not fast, it's a place where you sit down and spend time with friends/family over drinks and tapas. My suggestions are pulpo a la plancha, croquetas de bacalao, garbanzos fritos, bombas de quesos, patatas bravas and of course some sangria. The only thing you need to consider when visiting is the space, there isn't much of it, but that's not a bad thing it's part of what makes this place feel so special

HIDDEN GEM! Highly recommended! Must try Bombas de queso and their steak with goat cheese. The music and ambience is perfect for beers and tapas!

Pulpo a la plancha (grilled octopus) & churrasco relleno con queso de cabra (skirt steak with goat cheese) ... Order these and you cannot go wrong! I've had this place bookmarked for quite sometime and I'm so excited to finally try it. Came out in a Tuesday for dinner and it was pretty empty.. Good for me :) honestly there was a large group outside that was taking up the servers time so some of the items we ordered took a bit of time but it was still totally worth it. The place itself is quite small fitting maybe 8 two person tables inside and a few outside. I honestly like this kind of atmosphere very much because you are better attended to. We ordered the croquetas de bacalao (cod) and they were very good, fresh and not oily at all. Like I stated at the very beginning.. The pulpo.... Ugh so delicious. It was two pieces, grilled to perfection with loads of garlic and this delicious rice, tomato and potato salad. The perfect combo. Oh and some fresh French bread on the side to soak up some of that yummy garlic sauce. We ordered the churrasco for our main course with side salad. The meat was ordered medium and cooked to perfection...pink with juicy center. Paired the steak with some house red wine that was also good. The atmosphere was quaint but tables are quite close together so if the place is packed it's probably noisey. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu...especially dessert!

The place is very small and run by a mother-son duo. The food was extraordinary and the ambience was very relaxed. Frankly I am embarrassed I never knew about this place until now since I live a block away. The most tender octopus ever. The gambas al ajillo pull no punches with their roasted garlic and spicy sauce. Definitely has become my favorite place in the neighborhood!

I went here expecting to be wowed because of the reviews, but was a bit disappointed. It's quite over priced, and though the inside is very cozy and the service is good. It wasn't worth it. Food was ok, the best was the potatoes. Only get tapas if you come, the meals weren't too satisfying. It felt like something was missing. But I know plenty of other places where I will enjoy much more for the money.

What a surprise. My husband and I stopped in based on the yelp reviews and it was phenomenal. We walked up and I think both of us were a little skeptical because it was so small but you walk inside and it's super cool. Vintage movie posters cover the wall and duct work and the kitchen is right over a cabinet. Talk about authentic. They gave us a free tapa to start that was like potato salad but better. Then we got a garbanzo bean appetizer with bread that was awesome. The best part, hands down, was the sangria. It's not what you're expecting. It's got a cinnamon flavor to it that is great. It makes me wish we lived here!

Everything is delicious! I´ve been there many times and I never get bored of the menu, they always surprise us with something new... that the waiter kindly explains and suggests. The service is excellent, the chef is sooooo sweet as the delicious desserts! Do not forget to try them!! Place is small but veeeery cute!! It gets pretty busy during the weekend, so, if you just want to enjoy the food while having a relaxing time, I would suggest to visit during weekdays. You can always give a call and check before arriving... 5 BIG STARS!!!

Rincon was recommended by a coworker who recently had her boyfriends birthday dinner here. We Visited this fine establishment with a large group of friends also to celebrate a birthday dinner. Let me begin by saying despite the small interior they were able to set the chairs in a way that everyone fit and was very comfortable. The staff was extremely accommodating and was very knowledgable about the menu. Everyone we met was friendly and the environment was quaint and tranquil the lighting set perfectly for what you would want for an evening outing with friends. Now for the food. There are a wide variety of different tapas and also platters consistent of meats and cheeses or cheeses and fruits. We tried them all and they were all delicious. I personally ordered a meal, the "Pollo a la manchego". This chicken was delicious. It was well spiced and came with a sauce that was a perfect combination of sweet and salty but not spicy. The waiter took our drink orders at the beginning and made sure that the bottles of wine kept coming. At the end they brought a slice of cake with a candle for the birthday boy and made us all feel welcome. The only down side to the experience would be that the food took longer than anticipated to come to the table but we filled the time with wine and tapas. All in all, a great group dining experience.

This place was really amazing! We were in Miami for a quick vacation and found this place on yelp. Just like a fellow yelper had mentioned, dont be fooled by the small space. The food was fantastic and really packed with flavor. The staff was great and very attentive (by staff, I meant 2 people) and the atmosphere was very quaint. Would definitely go back again!

First things first, we need to talk decor. This little hole in the wall is so cute and quaint, with small intimate tables and dimmed lights. I highly enjoyed having dinner here even if it is just for the ambiance and wine! The server was so great to us and even offered us a glass of wine while the bottle we had originally ordered took some time to get a little extra chill on it. Now, the service isn't quick, but that's sort of what I enjoyed most about it. Take your time when eating here. Have some wine, order an appetizer, then get another, and sit and chitchat. No one is rushing you! When you take a seat, you're provided a delicious small potato appetizer to snack on while you wait to place your order. For the first course, we had the Boquerones a la Vinagreta (aka Sardines!) and a plate of the hamon serrano, which is some of the best I've had from all the spanish spots in the city! For the main dish, we shared the Pulpo A La Gallega which is octopus and potatoes sprinkled lightly with some salt and paprika. The paprika was a bit heavy handed, but the taste of the octopus was really fresh and great. I'm excited to come back because it is a spanish/argentine fusion restaurant and there's definitely a lot of other things to try on its expansive menu. Recommend this spot for a date night, or I'd imagine it would be great for a small intimate group, but make sure you make some reservations :)

This is a small restaurant but the food is delicious! You will be served by the owner who is a really nice guy. I recommend the paella but you better order it in advance ( call them the day before going). I went there with some friends after my civil wedding bc I knew the place already and everyone loved it. they asked me again for the name of the place be they want to go back. It's not cheap, but totally worth it!

My husband and I were searching for some new local spots to try out and El Rincón Escondido de España came up on our search. We thought, it's 2 blocks from home so why not?! We arrived at 7:30pm on a Friday and there was no one there, but we immediately felt at home in the cozy, quaint interior. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria and a platter of mixed cheeses and cured meats to start. The sangria? Blew me away! Instantly I detected the taste of cinnamon (my husband wasn't too keen on it) which gave it that special "Hmmm... What is that??" We also shared a tortilla with chorizo and a side of chistorras (Spanish sausages cooked in wine) and May or may not have had 2 more pitchers of sangria. The service was excellent, not too much but not too little. We even got a free desert, tocino del cielo - think creamy flan with waaaay more caramel. We will definitely be coming back very soon!

this is a cute little place in Edgewater to grab some sangria and tapas. The restaurant is tiny. We had a big group and occupied pretty much the whole restaurant. The service was nice and friendly. We ordered a little bit of everything and it was pretty tasty, i was dissapointed with the Jamos Serrano though, it was more Prosciutto than Jamon Serrano. Overall a good place to stop by if you are in the neighborhood, but not one dish was so memorable that i remember it.

The best sangria in Miami is found here. They make a secret ingredient sangria that makes one feel elated with relaxation and enjoyment , makes you forget about life's worries! The goat cheese balls with their homemade honey citrus syrup is a unique appetizer or tapas. The sharp goat cheese is melty with a breaded Panko layering that makes this absolutely perfect. I'm thinking they changed owners because the place used to be run by a chef and was a true Spanish cuisine. You walk in and automatically feel you've walked into a cozy cafe in Europe. They sell their own olive oils , gourmet balsamic vinegars and Spanish staples. The waiters/waitresses lacked knowledge and diligence though. I would have given this place a 5 star, but it never fails to disappoint us in this department. The price range is a little high , which would make sense for the cuisine they offered before management changed. Quality and taste of their cuisine has changed dramatically than when they first opened. This place is worth coming to for a special occasion , not every week. Have recommended and will continue to recommend for some of their staple dishes.

Cozy, romantic, hole-in-the-wall with AMAZING tapas-style plates? Your perfect date night! The service is fantastic and the food is delicious. We ordered a bunch of tapas to share and was definitely a wonderful experience! Thank you for everything! Will definitely be back soon.

This place is so good. Very authentic. We had the pulpo which was so soft and delicious. Some places overcook which leads to a rubber feeling but not here. All I tasted was a light squid flavor with hints of garlic. The croquetas de bacalo(codfish croquettes ) were simply amazing. A nice light cod fish taste not too salty. We also had the port wine chorizo..just wow. The bombas were so good. The goat, cheese balanced out with the honey worked so well. You had the sweet with salty and it was amazing. I'm coming back for more. It's so good. The service was great, the host was very friendly and we chatted a lot. I can't wait to come back.

Excellent vibe, food and service. The chorizo was amazing and the grilled calamari was a perfectly seasoned delight. The goat cheese balls were very rich and worked well as a dessert at the end of the meal.

Went here last night after a reading some yelp reviews and wanted to see if it lived up to the hype... It definitely did! This place is small and dimly lit which adds to it's charm . My Friend and i say down with big appetites ready for what rincon Escondido had to offer. Mario, the server greeted us and took our sangria pitcherorder . It was amazing . Refreshing and had a hint of cinamon ... Perfect for the heat outside! We began to talk about the menu with him and he recommended we order the pulpo a la plancha and told us that the other items we chose were all very good. He was very knowledgable , attentive and handsome ... Eye candy is always a plus in my book ;) he brought us potatos aioli which was like a potato salad and it was very tasty! Next we got a tabla mixta ( meat and cheese platter) which came with olives and it was the right amount of salty! Next we got the setas al Jerez ! Holy gods of food! This was everything ! It was almost like a Marsala but better . I almost drank the sauce . Next we had the bombas de queso =fried goat cheese balls with honey . Perfection . It was both sweet and salty ! And lastly we had the grilled pulpo ! We added a squeeze of lemon because we love lemon but it was flavorful on it's own and wasn't that chewy texture . All of that came out to $89 with included gratuity! I will definitely be coming back

Rincon Escondido means "hideaway" in Spanish and this could not be a more perfect name for this spot. The unassuming signage in this shady ass strip mall definitely would never have taken me to this place. However, once inside you feel very welcome in this is a very quaint and warm 20-top. What a find!! I can honestly thank Yelp for this place as the high ratings are the only reason I came here for lunch. They had a pretty attractive lunch special, but we opted to share a bunch of tapas. We had: Tortilla de Chorizo - traditional Spanish omelet with chorizo. Delicious and a pretty good portion size. Tabla De Embutidos - a charcuterie plate including jamon serrano, sliced chorizo, and manchego cheese - pretty large portion and enough to share with 3. Croquetas de Jamon - A lot better than the cuban version - more cheese croquette with ham pieces. Pulpo de gallega - Spanish style octopus - this is boiled and I prefer grilled octopus but not bad, especially the bed of sliced potatoes. Grilled octopus - Tastes exactly like the boiled octopus, not what I expected. Chorizo in wine sauce - Pretty traditional Spanish tapa. Can you really go wrong with Chorizo and wine? Honestly this is the best lunch I have had in a while, and definitely pretty authentic Spanish cuisine. I thought it was much better than Delicias de Espana and Cinco J's - both of which are great. Prices are also very reasonable. Along with a bottle of wine, coffee, and 3 beers the cost for 3 people was about $33 per person. Service was very friendly, and they even gave us a free dessert. Thanks Yelp, this is one of my new favorite spots, can't wait to come again.

The facts: Great portion sizes for the price Homey atmosphere Good service from a very welcoming waiter Authentic tasting, delicious food In terms of the food... please get the montadito de morcilla (blood sausage atop bread). Just do it. Please. It's an order of 4, and absolutely the best thing I have stuffed in my facehole this year. I convinced my eating partner to try some who was grossed out at the sound of blood sausage, but even she walked away a huge fan. It's incredibly rich with that unmistakeable taste of iron. It's meaty, salty (not overly, but satisfyingly), and even a bit sweet from what tasted like caramelized onions. The mushrooms (champiñones) were also excellent. Good pick for 3+ people or mushroom fanatics, because this was a very large portion. There is an herb in here that is just sublime. I asked the waiter, who proceeded to ask the chef, but she refused to share the secret.. gotta respect that. The fried chickpeas (garbanzos fritos I think) were very flavorful, and had a good bite to them. Only con for me was the chipirones a la plancha (grilled squid). I thought the squid was pretty good but could be better. The taste was subtle, and while I appreciate simple preparations, the squid didn't taste grilled, more boiled than anything. They had a light lemony flavor. Overall this is a great tapas restaurant serving big, amazing tasting tapas at reasonable prices. It doesn't look too nice from outside but the food and ambiance will convert any doubters about this place.

Seriously, just go there! Simply one of the best places I have eaten, and I eat out everyday! The food was just superb and everything else was perfect. The place is tiny but very cozy and it has the potential to become very known. I would hate to have to wait for a table but people really need to try this amazing food. The montadito de morcilla, tortilla con chorizo, gambas al ajillo, and even the ham croquetas where sublime even though I don't even like croquetas and oh yeah I don't even like morcilla but the one there has become the reason to visit this restaurant at least once a week!

Went to this restaurant after 8pm on a Wednesday. It looked like it was closed and kinda sketchy, but its actually a great little restaurant. Its quaint and a cute little place. I forgot the actual names, but we ordered the ham croquettes, calamari, grilled octopus, paella and sangria. Everything was on point. But beware....the Paella takes an hour to make and each dish comes out one at a time at a leisurely pace. It makes you enjoy each dish. If you're in a rush then don't come here. Some people said there was complimentary bread, butter and olives. We got this little bowl of aioli potatos and had to ask for bread when we saw others were getting it.

Rincón escondido serves up some tasty tapas. I came here for dinner this week and ended up trying the chipirones, pulpo a la gallega, berenjena, sepia a la plancha y gazpacho. I enjoyed everything we tried, but I think the gazpacho was my favorite. The service was friendly and the dishes came out as they were prepared. Although it's definitely not the best place I've been to for Spanish food, it did serve up a solid meal.

Sad to say I am extremely unimpressed with this little place. There is nothing to rave about here and I would not come back. The sangria is all water but no bite. Food is very salty and just not good. I actually feel bad writing this review. The service was good though, the server and chef were very nice. When the sangria sucks, you know its a bad sign!

Nice little local find. Small, so wait can be a bit if you don't have reservations. Outdoor seating is right on Biscayne, but not much of a view. Food is fantastic, as is the service.

What a lovely little hot spot this was! Totally unassuming from the outside who'd have thought there would be such warm service and quality food inside. We were so happy to dodge the SOBE area for Valentine's Day and find ourselves in this tiny yet still romantic gem. The one server for 18 little tables was super friendly and the food was flavorful and down to earth. We had shrimp, grilled calamari and the goat cheese balls. To love the shrimp is to be a true garlic lover, which we are. The calamari was cooked to perfection, delicately presented with very light but savory lemony oil and herbs. The goat cheese balls made for a totally decadent dessert- save for last and you won't be disappointed!

My hundredth review! Rincon Escondido afforded me a crusade (my first of what I hope will be many crusades): a quasi-religious mission to do what I can to ensure that this place does not close down in favor of some god-awful chain or --- worse --- something like a day care center. No offense to any mothers, fathers, expectant parents, adoptive parents, and/or weird uncles out there. Actually, OK, I meant some offense. I hope you'll forgive my insensitivity. Seriously, though... Rincon opened up a while back, and I hate myself a little bit for waiting so long to check it out. Really, though, if you've driven by and seen where it is, I'm sure you wouldn't blame my (misguided) prejudice. I mean, that strip mall is where other strip malls go to die. Inside (because who can sit outside in the inferno that is Miami in May?), Rincon is something of a tribute to all the little things you love about the different homes you visited throughout your childhood: your aunt's china cabinet, your grandmother's chairs, the counter that is all your uncle has left from the corner market he owned that burnt down by way of an electrical fire, your cousin's vinyl collection. Your cousin's vinyl collection. This little tidbit comprised my second favorite decoration: the air vent that runs along just about the entirety of the ceiling is tiled with sleeves from old records. I have to say, it is one of the more creative things I've ever seen, and since I have no problem with thievery, I'm sure I'll one day steal that idea if ever I run my own little dilapidated bar. Favorite the first, for whatever reason, was this little bag of rice that just sits in the corner. Wait, not bag. A sack. And really, that's all it is. A freaking sack of rice. But sitting there in its little corner... I really can't explain why, but it almost reminded me of my uncle's farm. It's a rarely seen old world little addition to the overall aesthetic that just felt RIGHT. And this was just the decor! The first thing I'll mention is that the olive oil is infused with peppercorns, garlic cloves, and God knows what else. And truly, this was a great addition to the meal. I drizzled it on just about everything, and it proved perfect for the the slightly underwhelming potatoes (more on this in a bit). The food itself was pretty special. Special indeed. We started with goat cheese croquettes served in a little pool of orange blossom honey, and the sweetness of the honey paired with the cheese had a Pavlovian effect on me: just thinking about it now has me drooling all over my keyboard. Aside from the croquettes, (because the place offers a bevy of tapas), we ordered patatas bravas (which, honestly, could've used a little more in the "brava" department: they're listed as being a bit spicy, but they were anything but) and grilled shrimp (which, heads up, are served unpeeled). The shrimp, though tough to eat, were well worth the effort. They needed nothing. No cocktail sauce or lemon or whatever else is traditionally used on shrimp. They were grilled perfectly and just full of flavor. As a main dish, we ordered a chicken breast cooked in a mushroom and white wine sauce served with zucchini and potatoes. What I want to talk about a bit is the sauce... Usually --- at least in my travels --- very little wine flavor comes through. This dish, however, totally changed my wine sauce paradigm. Cooked with a white, the sauce was a little tart, though not overwhelmingly so, and it paired perfectly with the veggies and the ridiculously moist chicken. A totally special dish that I'm sure I'll order time and again. Finally, for dessert-lovers everywhere, I highly recommend the chocolate truffles. Now, after a meal like this and the bottle of wine we shared, it was a little heavy, but if you can find a position in your seat that'll allow for some more food to fit in your now bursting gut, then you really don't want to leave Rincon without this dish. Now, if you've made it to the end of my dissertation, may the Greek goddess Demeter bless you with a bountiful harvest. Furthermore, I hope I did my job in getting you to check this place out. It truly is the kind of place that should exist on every street corner, and because I never see many people when walking or driving by, I'm afraid it isn't long for our culinary world. So go! Now! Have some wine! And enjoy yourselves, B----es. It's a celebration.

At the risk of this place becoming too popular, I want to give a nod to Rincon Escondido as one of the most authentic and cozy Spanish restaurants in town. Ambience: welcome to grandma's house in Galicia. The spot doesn't look like much from the outside but the quaint, well decorated inside will make you feel like you are eating in your own home. There are only about 30 seats so if crowded, it might feel too crammed but I haven't experienced that in my 1/2 dozen visits. The outdoors has potential with a TV but it is right on Biscayne so you have to contend with the traffic. Food: excellent, authentic tasting tapas. There are lots of the staples like tortilla, chorizo, gambas al ajillo and pulpo all done to perfection. The Bombas de Queso are fantastic with a hint of orange that really makes these pop. There are several interesting looking entrees including a few pasta dishes but we always fill up on tapas so not sure how they are but I look forward to trying sometime soon. My wife is vegetarian and finds plenty of options. Service: friendly, personable staff. The owner waits tables on most nights and enjoys speaking with the guests. The service can be a little slow (authentic European!) so if you are feeling rushed, this might be less ideal Price: this place is a steal. For about $35 a person, you can have a feast and enjoy lots of sangria no problem. Excellent value food and service for the price.

This is such a hidden treasure. They recently got a bit of a makeover. Which was badly needed. The food here is fresh and authentic, very tasty. And the service is always very good. It is tiny, charming, and all around pleasant. It is very intimate and cozy. But best of all, the food does not disappoint. They deserve to do well and to stick around as long as they want to. Everything we have had has been very good.

This is a little cozy restaurant. The food is good, we had the paella, the gambas al Ajillo, pulpo asado, the chesse and cured meats plate, all delicious.. We also had the patatas bravas, they were good, but for my taste, I would have like them more spicy. Maybe he can ask the level of spicyness, or now that I know I would ask for really spicy ones. You get to be served by the owner, it can't get better than. Excellent service..

New favorite spot! Nice place with great food and cozy ambiance. They have several tapas and full dinner as well. Everything we have tried has been out of this world, they never cease to disappoint me. Service is also incredible. Both the owner and the chef were really attentive on our visits and made sure that we had a great time. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and a great time.

Quaint, small, well priced tapas place. Went on a Sunday evening so it was quiet. Excellent, friendly service. We had a bottle of wine, the fried goat cheese, mushrooms in brandy sauce and the pulpo a la gallega. Tasty tapas. The bill ran to $82 with tip. Definitely will be back.

Woohoo! This place and Xixon Cafe are my two favorite Spanish restaurants in Miami. They both have their strengths but on average, I'd say the food is a little more authentic here (with the exception of the Gambas al Ajillo, which are very solid here but still notably better at Xixon). Must try dishes are the octopus, garbanzos, chorizo, and clams & ham. Their prices are pretty reasonable and they usually have restaurant.com offers available here, which is a good combo for those on a budget. On our last visit, we got a chance to talk to the owner, who owns a separate place in NYC as well and travels between the two. He was very friendly and even offered us a complimentary dessert wine! Parking can be tricky if you're a first-timer. If there's no parking on the street next to the restaurant, there are usually spaces directly on top of the building. Pull into the side street next to it past the motorcycle shop and you'll see a ramp leading up to the top of the building.

Just ate here again for the second time, amazing again! We love this place so much we are coming back AGAIN tomorrow with another couple. So glad we found this place! Tonight, we had the same order but tried the garbanzos (they graciously agreed to make then vegetarian for us) and spinach croquettes, which were amazing! Can't wait to come back again!

Here is the good: Amazing food, seriously amazing Super quaint spot, restaurant has 6 indoor tables Very good selection of tapas, and everything we tried was fresh and delicious Very authentic spanish offering Here is the bad: We arrived at 9pm, wanted Paella, knew it was a 45 minute lead time so ordered it immediately and selected 5 other tapas We had nowhere else to go, and enjoyed two pitchers of Sangria and had a lovely time talking, but it is such a small kitchen and with only one person working the restaurant, the check-ins and delivery of our tapas were about every 30 minutes After being there for two hours we asked about our Paella and were told it was "in progress" Paella arrived at 11:30pm, two and a half hours after we ordered it Must try: Grilled Octopus Chorizo Tortillo Paella So, in general, plan to be there for a while, but the flavors are delectable and if I had to do it again, I would go back and back, because it was delicious.

Omg so good. It's not much to look at at and not many places to sit. There was a little mixup with the seating because they were having a private party. They give you nice size portions. The sangria was good and the food was really tasty.

I have been waiting and hoping for a spot like this in Miami for years. A small, family owned, cosy tapas restaurant. Great service, small place and excellent food. I highly recommend the gambas al ajillo. I ate the shells and all. The octopus was super soft and very well seasoned. Edgewater will be proud of having this place in the years to come.

This place is truly a staple in my list of places. Always delectable and always great service. The owner and the chef always greet you with a smile there is always great music on, the wine is always wonderful, the octopus tapas is absolutely my favorite. This little hiding spot on US1 is a miss when driving by but when you find it and you walk in you feel like you're somewhere else in the world. This is the first review I've given anybody on yelp it is worth it to come in and try it for yourself. Quaint, lovely and secluded.

Tsk, tsk, my fellow Yelpers! I don't like to scold people but I feel I must, considering there are 3 restaurant reviews and not a single picture of the food! There are plenty of pictures of the interior of the restaurant featured on Yelp, but no pictures of the food! Why??? People go to restaurants for food mostly, not just to look at the decor! If you want to convince people that a place is the bomb, you need to show them by posting mouth-watering photos! I guess I will be the pioneer in this aspect and do future Yelpers a favor by showing great pictures of food, and hope others will follow suit and feel encouraged to do the same. You can thank me later. Rincon Escondido is a tiny little restaurant wedged in between some other stores in a small strip mall on Biscayne Boulevard (hence the name, which translates to "hidden corner"). If you're not looking out for their (now obviously huge) Spanish flag on the facade while driving, you might miss it. You might start worrying about parking, considering the side street is a residential neighborhood that has people parking in the strangest ways, but fear not, as once you turn on the side street, there is actually a ramp that leads to rooftop parking, so parking won't be an issue anymore. From the rooftop, there are stairs that lead you to the back entrance of Papa John's, and from there you just turn the corner and you will find yourself here. I am not sure how long they have been here, as I used to frequent this area around March of 2011 and I could have sworn something else was in its place, I just don't remember what it was. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and like others have said, this place is TINY. There were about 5 or 6 tables, and that's all that fits. The good thing? It gives it that cozy, homely feel. You feel like you're in a neighbor's diner, or a small restaurant near the beach. Just an FYI, I believe they serve lunch until 5, so take advantage, as I assume their dinner menu is pricier. They had a special going on, 3 tapas for I believe it was $7? We had a restaurant.com voucher anyway, but this worked out great for us, as we had to spend $25 for food to get the certificate. From the tapas choices, we chose the setas jerez, which are mushrooms in red wine with almond slices, pulpo a la gallega, which is octopus, and boquerones, which are little sardines. I honestly had little faith in the octopus. It's one of those things that's easy to miss and if you do miss, it's garbage. If it's too chewy or tough, it's garbage, and it's hard to make the octopus come out tender (trust me, my mom has been at it for years, sometimes it comes out fine, other times it's been chewy), so I was hesitant, but said "what the heck". We also got lubina, which is sea bass, in a seafood sauce. You are started off with complimentary bread and butter, as well as different kinds of marinated Spanish olives. They were a real treat and we were sad to finish them up! Our waitress quickly came with the setas in a bowl -- they were very tasty, and juicy. No canned mushrooms here. They were a decent tapa size to share as well. The octopus, surprisingly, was tender. It is drenched in olive oil and comes with paprika and potatoes. It needed some salt, but other than that, it had a nice flavor and there was a decent amount for sharing. The boquerones were a real treat, as it had been a long time since I had these. They come on little melba toasts with pepper, tomato, and onion. Each toast contains a whole boqueron, fileted, without the head and tail. These were delicious, and my husband loved them as he had never had anything quite like it. Next, came the main course, which is the sea bass. It came with homemade, baked potato chips and a yellow sauce with a strong taste of lemon. As if that weren't enough, it had shrimp and clams on top of the lightly battered fish filet. We gobbled it up in no time, and the waitress was laughing. The service, by the way, was exceptional, she kept checking up on us and hanging around to see if there was something we needed. For dessert, she recommended the trufas, which are chocolate truffles. Daaammnn, this is like heaven! If you're a chocoholic you WILL feel like you are in heaven. These little chocolate balls are loaded with rich, dark chocolate, and you never want them to end. Highly recommended if you love chocolate. All in all, the service was great. The food has a homemade taste and presentation to it, rather than being all frou-frou like other fancy Spanish restaurants. If you're looking for authentic feel-good cozy food, I highly recommend trying this place. The chef is from Madrid and is very quick and good at what he does. If you're looking to buy Spanish delicacies like jamon serrano, olives, or even Mahou beer, you can find those here as well. This is a no-frills, casual place to relax and dress however the heck you want, it's not meant to be a swanky, hip place to see and be seen.

As an spaniard living in Miami, this place fells like home away from home. Don't expect hyper refined nouvel cusine tapas, this place is real, like any other bar on an spanish main street. Prices are more than reasonable, and the service is really friendly. I recommend it to anyone who want to enjoy a casual lunch or dinner, without renouncing to eat well.

Do you have reservations for Rincon Escondido? I only ask because I thought you should know reservations mean nothing here. MAKING OUR PLANS Reservations were made online for a 9 pm table of "four". I made numerous calls over the next few hours to confirm the reservation and add a fifth guest (busy signal every time). At almost 8 pm, they finally answer the phone and reservations confirmed (5th guest added to reservation "if needed"). I was asked if we are coming for sure. After saying yes, he proceeded to emphasize the question again, "are we coming for sure"; and again I replied YES. OUR ARRIVAL The outside was an unimpressive storefront but the rustic interior was relaxing and cozy. A small place with an open kitchen and just five tables... just noticed NO four tops available. We asked why a table wasn't held for us. After all, we had a reservation. And what was with all that "are we coming for sure" questioning earlier? We got an apology but that does not help the situation. He offered to squeeze our party of "four" into a small table (good that our 5th guest did not join us). Good table if having a cocktail but not for dinner (way too tight). After noticing the other tables were just seated (drinks on table but no food yet) we knew it was this table or none. OUR PREMATURE DEPARTURE We asked for water when we were seated and more than adequate time passed for the "only" server to bring water. After awhile we decided this was not going to work; the table was too small, they were short-handed and they really dropped the ball with the reservation (not providing an adequate table). And what a shame to leave too. I saw the menu offering enticing choices with fair prices; the room was comfortable and pictures online looked appetizing; but our departure was necessary as they lacked customer service and a proper table. I arrived ready to try something unique and delicious and was hoping we found it, but perhaps it was not meant to be. Good-bye Rincon.... unfortunately my excitement to eat here has worn thin.

What an absolute shame that I will not ever get to enjoy their foods. We made reservations. We called TWICE to confirm the reservations. We ensured and assured them that we were coming. And to let them know we would be adding a 5th diner. And we did show. However there was not a table held for us, and the 4 tops hadnt even been served their food yet. We were dunked into a tiny corner, assured that we would be moved. I went to use the bathroom, there WASNT ANY SOAP!!!! I came back we were all still squeezed in threre. I was dying, from the heat of the Second Saturday work - we were thirstly and our appetites were gusty. I finally asked/motioned and had my girlfriend translate if we could please have some water. We then debated and considered our next step... Probably a 5 minute discussion. And the water never came. What a let down. All day we were decdiing on restaurants and finally settled on Rincon and were so excited. Sorry, I'm not a glutton for punishment, I'm not going to return.

What an amazing place to have great quality tapas. We had octopus grilled and boiled which was delicious. Also, we ordered shrimps, goat cheese balls and anchovies. I would definitely recommend this place . The owner is very friendly. Food is great!!!!

This is a great little tapas place. If you're a fan of Spanish food, I'd definitely recommend it. It gets pretty packed and it's small so if you're claustrophobic, you should definitely hold out for outdoor seating. There are like 5 tables inside and they're all on top of each other. It's nice and quaint and eveything but you really feel kinda crammed. However, the food speaks for itself. You get a nice serving of warm bread rolls and butter to start. We got the cheese and meat platters and there was a lot of variety and pretty large portions. We also got several different tapas. I love that you can get their seafood paella as a tapa; it was excellent. The sauteed shrimp were also great and they brought us the sauteed chorizo as a complimentary tapa, which is from what I hear is really common for them to do.

A very charming and bohemian place perfect for a romantic evening or group of friends. Only 8 tables and you will be served by the owner himself. The food is a-ma-zing. The best crema catalana in Miami! I highly recommend this place.

Came here a few weeks ago and everyone loved it, the place is the size of a living room it's a hole in the wall BUT it's amazing The service was outstanding couldn't have been better (even had a dessert on the house) Food was freaking awesome. All the tapas were great and so was the paella

There's something special about this place. You are transported, better yet, teleported out of the noisy, exuberant streets of Miami, to a dimly lit taverna in Barcelona. The place has only a few tables inside and 4 more outside, the food is excellent and the service out of this world. The owner, Damian, is a real treat, down to earth and a pleasure to talk to, he entertained us with his travel stories through the night and gave us some good recommendations for our future adventures. If you are in the area look for El Rincon Escondido, and I mean really look for it, because it is a hidden gem.

I went to this restaurant for the first time. It's TINY. I wouldn't recommend a group of more than four people going here. Service was great. I'm glad I got to try this place, but I won't be coming back. The portions sizes are questionable on some of their Tapas. We paid $16 for a Grilled Squid dish and it only came out with two strips of Squid and some rice. The checks come with a 15% gratuity included.

"Rincon Escondido" sounds more romantic than "hole in the wall." This restaurant is located in a tiny property sandwiched between Papa John's pizza and a Central American convenience store. Driving by, it is easy to miss, and I had even walked past it multiple times, but I never noticed it until a Groupon caught my attention. I was impressed by the food and would *GASP* even return to pay non-Groupon prices. The pan fried covina fish in a garlic and lemon sauce, served with a salad with vinaigrette dressing, rice, and a few slices of grilled zucchini was excellent. I repeated "mmm this tastes so good" so many times that my dining partner became annoyed. The montaditos de boquerones (marinated anchovies over toast with minced onions, olive oil, and pepper) was also extremely tasty. I was least impressed by the pallea Valenciana tapa because I found the seafood to be a bit dry and the pieces small, but it wasn't bad considering the price, and the fact that the paella was prepared (or pre-prepared) quickly. I sat outside on the barstools where I was able to watch the eclectic parade of life on Biscayne Boulevard passing by. Within the time that I sat there, I witnessed a near head-on collision, saw an enraged driver get out to yell at the other driver, and heard angry honking horns from a different incident. I actually enjoyed this part of the dining experience, as it was more interesting than sitting indoors and looking at the walls. Whoever designed this place did an excellent job of transforming it into a little oasis that feels you're in a grandma's kitchen, rather than sitting next door to a Papa John's with its blazing florescent lights. The negative was that the service was not very impressive. The waitress contradicted what was written in the menu (said the sides described were an either/or option), did not know where the imported beer was from, and it took a long time for the fish to be served. There was also a man who repeatedly came outside to smoke cigarettes within a few feet of us. I subtracted one star because of these occurrences, but the food was definitely worthy of five stars.

Authentic Spanish food with fresh ingredients combined to make the perfect meal. Don't underestimate tapas - my boyfriend and I ordered 4 paired with complimentary bread and a pitcher of sangria, which left us wishing we could fit more in! Definitely recommend it for a date night. Try to make a reservation if you're going during the weekend; this place gets packed quickly!

I am so glad my sister found this on Yelp! We stayed at the Marriott downtown prior to leaving for our cruise. This is a very, very, very small place. Make a reservation. If you sit outside during the evening, bring your bug spray. I was eaten alive by the mosquitoes. Ok, the disclaimers are over. The food is sooooooooo good! We had a pitcher of white sangria. The gave us complimentary potato salad. We ordered a garlic shrimp dish, and a chicken dish smothered in chesse, gravy, onions, rice, and a salad. Minus the alcohol, the meal was only $20/person. What a deal and absolutely delicious! Our server also gave us a complimentary dessert sample. Next time, I'm in Miami, this is a definite stop!!

El Rincon Escondido is a little hole in the wall, but OH SO GOOD!!!!. As soon as we walked in I was immediately transported to Barcelona. The decor is super cute, and the menu is very complete, but we decided to do wine and hot tapas. We ordered: Spanish sausage in sherry sauce (my favorite), shrimp sautéed with garlic sauce, refried chickpeas, tortilla Española, and the wine selection was great. The staff was amazing, and all from Spain. This place was beautiful, low key and it really had that authentic feeling to it. I highly recommend it, and I know I will be back in the near future.

Im reluctant to even write this review, because i would love to claim this little hidden gem for myself, but that would just be selfish. I found this place by accident, and its one of those if you blink you miss it, but WOW!! Its so cozy (fits about 20 max) and well decorated, weirdly enough its in a plaza, but once inside you're transported to a little cafe in Europe. Great service, great ambiance (candlelit, and spanish music playing in the background). The food is delicious. They have your typical spanish tapas, all our choices were tasty, that included the goat cheese balls with honey, the ceviche, and the calamari. What I especially loved was that they had nontraditional entrees like seared tuna served with veggies, lamb shank, pork loin, and the more traditional paella.

This is authentic Spanish at its best. I love this little hidden gem that from the outside looks quite "iffy" but is the real deal. I have been wanting to go back with my husband because I know he would love all the authentic tapas and entrees they serve here. The paella here is perfectly prepared with Valencia rice cooked to perfection with plenty of seafood and saffron goodness. They also make a squid ink version of paella with mussels served with a side of aioli. Their atun a la sidra con patatas is a thick grilled cut of tuna steak cooked in Spanish cider served on a bed of soft onions, zucchini and peppers with a side of delicately fried potato chunks. The tapas or appetizers include crostini topped with fresh artichoke spread, manchego cheese and steak carpaccio. The Tabla de Quesos, an assortment of cheeses with toast points and fruit or the Tabla de Xarcuteria, an assortment of cured meats with toast points and olives are two other great choices. I love the intimate, European feel of this place, unpretentious. It's easy to linger, sipping sangria or red wine while savoring every delectable morsel. Highly recommend this place.

This is not a true Spanish restaurant. The chef and the waiter are Argentinian, the maître is of Caribbean descent. The music is a mish-mash of non-Spanish classics and Caribbean oldies. But who cares, the portions are generous, and the prices are ridiculous. The menu is packed with classics, prepared with an Andalusian flare. Definitely much better than I expected. Be aware, however, that the tapas menu is not really a tapas menu. The portions are two to three times the size of a regular tapa, so take care not to order too much food...

Very beautiful cafe' awesome music and intimate feel. Great place to have a chat with friends. It feels like home back in the Caribbean although this is a Spanish cafe with a European influence. The tapas are delicious and hot the spot.

After reading and hearing gleaming reviews about this place, my boo and I decided to check it out. While we're usually weary of tapas-style restaurants for their exorbitant prices and measly portions, we were pleasantly surprised by Rincon Escondio. Here's the rundown on what we ordered: Bombas de Queso (aka fried cheese balls) - These were amazing and come with an orange blossom sauce that gives it a sweet little kick. Gambas al Ajillo (aka garlic shrimp) - Do yourself a favor and order these tasteful suckers. Patatas Bravas (aka potatoes with spicy sauce) - I mean, doesn't the description already tell you how great this one is? Potatoes + spice = magic. Garbanzos Fritos (aka fried chickpeas) - I'm not typically a fan of this dish, but it was pretty darn good. The chickpeas are mixed in a red sauce with chorizo and vegetables. Calamares Fritos (aka fried calamari) - This comes with a garlic sauce (damn, do I love Spaniards affinity for garlic) and are crispy, crunchy and yummy. The complimentary bread was warm and toasty, but doesn't make or break the restaurant. They also gave us complimentary tapas which were tiny pieces of bread topped with a mayonnaise based salad, which included peas and carrots. The name totally escapes me, but it was pretty good. This place is quite literally a hole in the wall with about 6-7 tables inside and 2 outside. While we didn't make a reservation, I would suggest that you call ahead if you're dining with a large party. While the service was slow at times (a big party came in and just went HAM on the place), our servers were attentive and welcoming (and always kept the water coming, a biggie for me when I eat out). Can't speak to the parking, as I walked here, so I have no clue where you leave your car. The side street adjacent to the restaurant, I'm guessing? Anywho, will definitely come here again.

What a letdown! I purchased two $60 GroupOn vouchers for Rincon Escondido. We used one without problems a while back (and we liked the place) and when I went there today, they now require people to spend at least $120 to be able to use the voucher! They just changed the rules retroactively! I asked why and the guy said that they realized that it wasn't a good deal for them. No kidding! I say: learn from your mistakes for the future but don't change the rules after the fact, putting your customers at a disadvantage! BAD WAY OF DOING BUSINESS!!! Other than that, we liked the food and ambiance.

A friend recommended this (literally) hole in the wall, and he was right. It's a little tough to find (park on the side street), and very small. I'd go with a small group of people, and it would be perfect for a out-of-the-way dinner for 2. However, the food is excellent and it had a great vibe, cozy both inside and on the small patio. The servers were friendly and and prices were totally reasonable (both surprising for Miami). Service was not fast, but then again, it's a small place with just a few staff, and part of the enjoyment of tapas is taking it slowly. We did not experience any of the problems that the negative reviewers had, but if you want a really fast meal, you may want to skip it if it is crowded. But if you have a some time (especially during the week), it's a must. I will be back.

Rincon escondido is small but the flavors are amazing! I love eating tapas when I go to Spain, and Rincon escondido brings back those memories in such a positive way. The service is outstanding, the sangria is a must have drink, last time I was there I had the paella and it was simply marvelous. The chiperones were grilled perfectly, even the complimentary starter of potato salad is the most amazing potato salad I have ever had. Can I say more, yes but you should go and try it yourself you will be pleased.

I have been here a few times already and a review is due. Rincon Escondido is just that, a hidden gem. A great little hole in a wall that delivers great food and a nice experience. This is one of the places I go when I wanna transport myself without paying the cost of the trip. When I wanna feel like I'm in Madrid having some tapas and beer and just relaxing, I come here. The montadito de boquerones is delicious, made with fresh anchovies. The sausage in porto is very tasty but the chistorras are just incredible. Every time I go I ask for 2 of them. One thing I will point out, since other reviews also talk about, the service is not the best. Is not bad either and everyone is very nice but, especially when you sit outside, the servers seem to get lost. I'm ok with the garbanzo fritos being fresh made and taking a while but when I ask for the check it should not take 20 minutes and me asking three times for it. Putting aside the spotty service, this is a cool place with good food.

Very nice and small place. The tapas are great, the chicken was amazing. Happy hour gives you beers for $2 and Sangrias for $3.75. The service was amazing. Depending on the time you go and weather I would recommend to eat inside because of the sun and the amount of noise in Biscayne Boulevard.

Being that my boyfriend is from Spain, we have tried every Spanish tapas restaurant in Miami and Miami Beach and Rincon Escondido is the best priced, most authentic and tastiest place to go. It's super cozy and if you're not looking for it, you'll miss it. The staff is all great, including the owner, Emilio, and the food comes out very fast and is delicious! Do yourself a favor and head to Rincon Escondido!

Yeah, it's a hole-in-the-wall, but is it a gem? Well, it depends how you would define a 'gem'. If you're basing it on the food, then I'd say no. I mean, the food's okay, but not great -- and certainly not great Spanish food. I've had quite a share of Spanish food during my time (lived some time in Madrid), and nothing was utterly impressive to go on hailing it as a 'gem' -- it doesn't hold weight to La Barraca (and that's a sub-par Spanish tapas restaurant). The restaurant isn't really hard to find, it sticks out like a sore thumb. Just right off of 27th and Biscayne, you'll spot a huge Spanish national flag with the facade dripping with Spanish nationalism. Franco would've been pleased. There's a few seats outside with a jumbo flat screen, and so that's where I sat. Surprisingly, there was a Fellini film playing -- so much for Spanish nationalism. My server, probably the main reason for a mid-tier rating, was friendly and cordial throughout the whole meal. I start off with a Tabla De Embutidos ($12.00) cured dry meat selection, jamon serrano, chorizo cantimpalo, lomo de cerdo, chorizos palacios. Not bad, but for the amount of meat listed above, it seemed quite small. I was in the mood for a Paella Valenciana, and after a strong recommendation, I gave it shot. The timing was okay, but the paella was poorly made. In fact, it wasn't even an authentic paella. There was no butter bean, no saffron, no rosemary -- there was little to no salt -- it just lacked flavor. The service ended with a couple of refills and a few laughs, trying to escape a mediocre Spanish meal. I would not recommend Rincon for quality Spanish food; however, there's limited options in Edgewater, and it's not a bad place to bring a date. The restaurant, similar to Pizzeria Di Lemoni, has a date-oriented setting, so if you need a quick fling via gastronomy, this place isn't all that bad.

My fiancé and I finally stopped in last night and this amazing neighborhood gem certainly didn't disappoint! The restaurant is small and cozy. They have daily specials listed on 2 chalk boards, along with a regular menu....it was a mouthwatering selection. We went with the Serrano ham for a starter and the seafood paella for our main, both of which were delicious. They also brought out a complimentary cold potato dish with a creamy yogurt, dill and garlic sauce that was unbelievable. So on top of a great culinary experience which was very reasonably priced, I have to mention how the awesome service we received too. The owner was very hands on and you can tell he has a personal interest in making sure his customers leave happy and full. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience and look forward to our next visit to Rincon!

Super good food, fresh, tasty, just awesome. One star subtracted for the uppity "I don't really need you as a customer" vibe we got from the waiter/owner. My wife loved the sangria

Being that my wife was born and raised in Spain and her family is highly educated in Spanish culinary culture, it is very difficult to impress her with a Spanish restaurant in Miami; until now! The food at Rincon Escondido tasted as if we were in Spain! The menu is full of Spain-Specific choices. The Serrano ham is cut right there when you ordered. And their sauces are made from scratch. I recommend having tapas so you get to taste many different things. The sangria was also very well made and with enough alcohol. The place is very small, so it is a good idea to call ahead of time and reserve a table. We will definitively be coming back to this very small and cozy restaurant! My wife and I had a great "Date Night"!! Ole!!

I don't know what it is about little gems in the middle of the most unexpected areas but they always have my heart. The name really says it all. A tiny shopping center, a busy street, parking on the roof, graffiti on the walls, people sitting on their front porches across the street watching you like you've invaded their space. But just like that, even with all the surroundings, in this little hidden corner, I walk in and feel like I am back in Barcelona. The cook came out, explained the specials, shared some stories and magically worked the tables and the kitchen. It truly feels like you are at some distant Tio's house in Spain. Mismatched chairs, pantries stocked with goodies, hanging pots and pans, the cook talking to you from the kitchen. This is no ordinary restaurant. This was home with a menu. We had more tapas than I can remember. My favorite were the spinach croquetas and the paella. My only disappointment was the cheese platter. I expected more, but just not the type of thing you go there for in my opinion. Dessert was homemade chocolate truffles and were delicious. What makes this place stand out from other Spanish restaurants I've been to is the ability to not let anyone feel like they are just another customer being waited on. When you're here, you're family and you feel that from the very moment you walk in.

Fact: ply me with sangria, chorizo, cheese and grabanzos fritos and I will overlook your restaurant's (slightly less than) mediocre service. We had to wave down our server because we felt neglected at a tiny table outside, but that didn't stop our small group from having a wonderful time. Next time we will make reservations so that we can enjoy the charming atmosphere inside the rinconcito, which is quite cute and homey as others have described. Also, the menu is quite varied, and I am looking forward to trying more of it in the future. Salud!

Amazing place!!! Warm, cozy, Spanish !!! The hostess/waitress was extremely nice and helpful. She recommended us some dishes and they were very tasty. $7-$10 for appetizers and $12-$15 for entree are well priced. In conclusion, my experience at this place was exquisite. A must-go place.

Food and service were great. Dishes were authentic tapas style and they DIDNT pile on huge portions of below avg food hoping customers like their food. Wine selection was delicious. And very personal nice service.

This tiny place has been open for over a year, and I'm glad to see it finally getting some business! The food is almost always good, and I've always enjoyed great service. Get the bombas de queso. Fried balls of goat cheese with orange blossom honey. Yum! Super crispy, thin outside layer with soft, creamy goat cheese inside. So good! The skirt steak with sauteed veggies is also tasty. I didn't enjoy the white asparagus, but the waiter also didn't charge me for it since I didn't like it at all. Great customer service there. We also had a meat & cheese platter that was pretty good. The place is tiny, but the customer service & good food make up for having to sit 6 inches from the people at the next table. They have great lunch specials, too. And one major thing for me - they work around food allergies. Always very accommodating about that. Oh & the bread is amazing. And I love that they sell all kinds of neat imported products, like the hibiscus flowers in syrup that they put on the meat & cheese platter. :) All around a good experience. Hope you enjoy it too if you go!

By far one of my new favorite restaurants I've ever been to. I came across it today as I was originally going to eat at Adelitas next door but was overwhelmed by the crowd inside. So I walked right next to it and decided to have lunch with my boyfriend, what a treat! It has all the necessary components it needs. Plus, you can tell the amount of detail and thought they invested into the decor of the restaurant. We started off with some marinated olives and escargot, (the escargot was only $4.00!) Afterwards, I had the Smoked Salmon Montadito with Caviar and Cucumber: Surprisingly well-built and savory. My boyfriend opted for the Pork and Manchego Bocadillo (which I ate half of lol). I usually never really like pork nor would I order it but my goodness, it was to die for. The service was great and the Chef put so much detail into the dishes that it truly deserves recognition. I am definitely planning on coming here more often and will attempt to taste the whole menu. Yes, it is really that good! One suggestion I have is to opt for the Bocadillo instead of the Montadito as it is not only larger and more filling, but also has more substance. Plus, they are the same price. Along with the menu, they offer high-end Spainard delicacies for sale all across the restaurant which really adds to the appeal. Amazing place, Gourmet food, Very inexpensive: what more could you ask for.

It was my first time last night at Rincon, very cozy, excellent menu, the sangria was expectacular, me and my friends had a great time. Definetely recommend.

When I saw tapas in their outside signage I decided to give them a try as I am kind of fan of real Spanish (from Spain) food. I was absolutely surprised by their excellent selection of fine Spaniard food, great friendly service and delicious options. Pulpo a la gallega was my favorite, but also the chipirones were great. A jewel for real Spanish food!!

Dear chef (who didn't seem to understand a word I said), I would like to bring you to my hometown of New York City. In fact, I would love you to open a restaurant with Chef Charlie of Chair 6 in Lake Placid, NY. You both run kitchens that serve about 25 people at a time. You both make food that rivals the masters. My girlfriend and I think your food is in the Top 5 we ever had. I put your food in Nobu territory (the original one). Start with perfectly fried patatas bravas. Save the steaming hot bread for the leftover aioli. Move onto the fried goat cheese balls. (Chef, you forgot the honey drizzle. We forgive you.). Continue onto a huge plate of octopus a la plancha with expertly roasted peppers and onions, and delicious olives. (My gf has never wanted to eat octopus before, and she loved it.). The two small pequillo peppers stuffed with tuna tartare was more like ceviche, which is A+ in my book. And then there is the chicken bocadilla. On some level, one can say it is a chicken sandwich. That is like saying that a Peter Lugar porterhouse is just meat. It was the most tender chicken breast we have ever had....ever...on delicious bread, with addictive aioli, perfect roasted peppers and a side of fried potatoes (minus the aioli that makes it patatas bravas). It is the chicken sandwich to end all chicken sandwiches. Dear waiter, I am sorry that you were working by yourself. Thank you for keeping a sense of humor when we badgered you for an indoor table (it was waaaay too humid outside), bread, sangria and then more bread. You were a trooper. I didn't mind that you spoke to me in Spanish, even though I speak almost none. It was endearing. TIP: The place is tiny. You want reservations and you want 'em inside. TIP: 10% is auto added to the bill. Double it.

This place is truly a hidden corner. We happened to change our real lunch destination when we drove by Rincon Escondido and decide to try a new place. We order from the $12 menu and it was really really good. Highly recommend!

Nothing compares to the lunch special! For $12.95 you get an appetizer (lentil soup is my favorite), a main course with two sides and dessert. How can you beat that? The food is fresh and so tasty. Service has always been great. They recognized me upon my return and now I am welcomed with hugs. This little spot has won my vote. I will continue to go back!

This is the worst "Spanish" place I think I have been to in Miami. WOW! We had the grilled octopus and a meat and cheese tray both had no flavor looked just slapped together. We ordered sangria and wine on their menu it has happy hour prices from 4-7. I asked the girl if she charged us happy hour prices for drinks when we got the bill and she said that you have to order strictly off the happy hour menu to get the prices. I took a look at the menu and NO WHERE does it say this. I would not waste my time here over priced for no quality food. After just spending a month over in Spain I thought the quality would be much better and it wasn't. I was very disappointed overall.

Excellent in every way, was not anticipating the quality of food from such a small hidden away place in the middle of a decrepit shopping plaza with a Papa Johns! Server Pau was efficient and friendly. Finally a new place to add to our list of favorites!

we found this place through groupon, otherwise i think i'll never notice it although we drive through Biscayne very often. it's right next to Papa John and the parking lot is on the top of the building. the parking lot is dark, it need lights and signs. the food; liked the mushroom, the cured meat platter and the grilled calamari (little oily). the potato pie was okay. nothing special about ham croquetas. the taste of the lentil soup was good, but too salty to enjoy it. as a chocolate fan, expected more about the chocolate truffle. i would love it if it was less sweet. the service is good, just the waiter has to be better informed. the chef was very friendly, came out to greet us and recommend some special of the day. the cod fish balls on the house was good. we will definitely go back again. oh... i don't think it's just $$, it was a little bit pricey. we didn't have any entree, just tapas for two and we paid like $70 plus tips.

Wonderful ambiance, candlelit, quaint, and intimate. The service is excellent. The food is very tasty ( mushrooms with red wine, and papas brevas were my favorite). It's a vegetarian friendly place. Another plus is the ample parking. Fernando the chef came out and greeted us and asked us what we thought of each thing we ordered. He then gave us orange flan on the house. The only drawback is it's a tad bit on the pricier side.
