We were triying to find some place around downtown that wassnt too pretencious and over priced. Lucky for us to run into this place! The bartenders were super friendly and welcoming, and the owner Colin was a riot! He even bought us a couple of drinks. The drinks were cheap and the music was great! Will defenitly come back!!

PubOne is a great place to hang after a hard days work. They include a friendly staff and patrons as well as great drinks and smooth music. A little rough around the edges but that is what brings the whole experience together. I would definitely come back!

Pretty solid place, reasonably priced beers with a decent selection of drafts for a "Dive." friendly folks at the bar as well as friendly bartenders. It is sort of divey but I have certainly seen worse before. As a non-smoker I was a little disappointed with the fact smoking was allowed but then again it is a bar. So I should stop my whining. I will come back here next time I'm in Miami!

This place is definitely a breath of fresh air when it comes to bars in Downtown. It's grimey, smells of cigarettes, and there's always great music playing from the jukebox. I went there with some co workers last week and there was an old guy playing awesome guitar solos and singing... Random, right? Anyway, the bartenders are super friendly and the characters that walk in are interesting to watch. It's such a comfortable and laid back vibe. One thing that surprised me is that the bathroom is actually pretty clean, especially for a dive bar. I'll probably keep coming to Pub One for a while.

Pretty much the archetypical hole in the wall, grungy, lung incapacitating, smoke filled, manner lacking, courtesy devoid, mixed drink menu lacking, no special orders, no food, not your way this isn't Burger King, shady people, dive bar. 2 of the comrades in our group of 6 asked for a margarita, she stared into their souls with a medusa-like gaze and without hesitation said.. "I don't make mixed drinks". Exactly what dive bar should be. Would go again.

This place is amazing. I went once at the request of a friend and Ivy made me feel like she's known me forever. Stop by and hang out with her, she is awesome enough to have me become a regular.

Was visiting my friends in miami. I came all the way from Canada and was told that thursday was karaoke. I was sold and am so glad I was told about this place. The karaoke was well run and it so happened to be one of the bartenders birthday. The whole place felt like like it was a laugh track from being a new age Cheers series. Would absolutely go again. Another friend just got pulled into the regular crowd after that night.

Smoke em if you got em!!!!!! I LOVE Pub One! Finally a dive bar that lets everyone smoke...at the same time...INSIDE!! Now we're talkin! My boys and I were there Friday night for happy hour and to shoot pool. My friend Manny showed up with 3 fine ass females from his work but they immediately left when the hottest girl in the group caught an asthma attack. The chubby one was going to hang but said she would have needed to go back to her crib and shower off the smoke from her pores and hair before going to s. beach later and she didn't want to deal with that. They probably would have been out place anyway since there were only 2 chicks inside the bar and both were skanks. More pool time for me, non-smoking bitches!!

Service is terrible. In for a couple of nights and read the reviews so decided to go. Great at first for one beer then shift change to two girls. Couldn't get a beer to save my life. They walked by every time. Won't be gong back.

Love this place! Great staff! Katie and Colin are the best. Great little neighborhood watering hole with a very diverse crowd. One of the best jukeboxes in Miami (it's actually one of the top grossing jukeboxes in Miami). Cheap drinks, great people. They are pioneers in downtown, one of the first places to be open daily to 5 am!

Pub One has been my go to bar ever since I moved here a year ago. Its a short walk from my building, beers are reasonably priced, the crowd is friendly and Joe, the owner, is awesome! There is always a good mix of music playing on the juke box and in my opinion, the best part of the place is the pool table. A night at pub one doesn't go by without playing several rounds of pool with friends, other regulars and on slow nights, Joe as well! Pub one is spacious, has LOTS of seating at the bar, doesnt reak of smoke, stays open late, and in my opinion, is the perfect place to go for a laid back evening or even to get a few drinks before heading out.

There was a time when I hated Miami. I was over the club life & wanted cool, local bars I could hang out at here that resembled the amazing ones I went to in Atlanta in college. Nothing. Then came Wynwood...I swear, I was the first to jump into Wood Tavern. It's still one of my favorite places. Downtown was like South Beach. Nothing cool down there except for maybe Space and ok...E11even. But you have to be in a real party mood to go out to that shit. That's me in rare form these days. I'm too lazy now. Then I happened upon Pub One. I can't even tell you how in love I am with this place. It's dive bar-ish, yeah. It's easy to use labels, but it's so much more than that. It really is a local bar where there's nothing fancy; it's just a great place to go for drinks. One of the owners, Robert, is as cool as it gets. He parks his motorcycle in the joint. No fucks given. My kinda guy. And people - patrons, bartenders - are FRIENDLY. Hear that Miami? People are nice. And drinks aren't expensive. What a hidden gem. My boyfriend went one night only because I dragged him there but now, he's wanting to go all the time. This is our new, local hangout. I'm a loyal Pub-Oner now. Part of me wishes the regulars could keep it all to themselves but hey, I hope their popularity soars. The owners are do down-to-Earth & they deserve it more than anything. A rare find in this city.

Found out about Pub One by way of some friends and a Miami New Times event. So we went and were very surprised yet again and what a cool, hip spot that exists in downtown Miami. This is not the 90s anymore, downtown has some neat spots and Pub One sure is in that category. The most friendly staff I had seen for a bar atmosphere in a long time and even the manager or owner was having a great time shouting out to all of us for more. Spacious once you get inside you will find a seat and not want to leave.

Pub One was one of the reasons I decided to move Downtown. Rash? Perhaps. But, I'd been living in South Beach and was beyond in need of a change. Pub One was different enough from where I was that I liked it probably more than I should. More than I should? Yeah. Downtown Miami has a pretty sad homeless situation. Not only are there 'no peddling' zones where the homeless are harassed by police simply for existing but they have fewer and fewer places in which to live/try and get better/bathe, etc. While all the while, they're surrounded by a ridiculous amount of excess.* All this is to say, lining NE 1 St are many men and women who have no where else to go. They sleep, eat, use the bathroom, etc. within sight and smell of Pub One. Yes, it's not an ideal situation but it is what it unfortunately is. And, yes, despite this preamble 1.) I like this place; and 2.) I liked it more than South Beach. So... know these things and employ them as a caveat to this review. Pub One is what it is: a dive bar, surrounded by high rises full of people pretending to have money and the blighted. But no matter the time of day or night, the blackened windows ensure that you concentrate on one thing while you're there: drinking. But here's the real twist: despite its dive bar ways and location, the bar is pretty damn clean. The grime and grit associated with dive bars aren't really a thing here. What is a thing: (relatively) cheap bottles of beer, a jukebox complete with the Doobie Brothers (love me some Black Water), and cool-a$$ bartenders who will do shots with you, talk isht, joke around, and make sure that the familiar Miami 'tude stays on the outside. Pub One provides a welcome respite to the foolishness that Miami life can bring. Take a break. *It's all smoke & mirrors.

When my friend and I first walked in, we were a little skeptic. It was dark and the crowd seemed a little off at first and the cigarette smell was a little overwhelming. When we first got our beers, we were thinking, after this beer, we're leaving, but that was not the case. It was karaoke night and a regular attacked us and demanded that we sing. After some convincing we finally agreed and honestly, it couldn't have been a better first night in town. The bartenders Carolina and Summer were great! They are so friendly and nice and they can sing too! We for sure did not stay for one beer. A few beers, shots and songs later, we ended up staying till closing time. If my friend didn't have such a bad hangover, we definitely would have came back again before we left! But I will definitely come back next time I'm in town!

Happy hour 4-7 with half off drinks and beers. Friendly and knowledgable staff. Good environment with the right people to relax after a day off work and have a cheap drink. Relax until the owner/manager walked in. Uncomfortable how mean and rude she is to her employees. Literally killed my vibe to the point that I had to share it. Yelling at them with hand gestures and hands in their face. Making them clean an already intact place. Gave her the benefit of the doubt being my first time here and not knowing past circumstances with her and her employees, but she continued by giving my boyfriend a very ugly attitude when he tried making small talk. Would only return if I know she's not here.

This place is the worst. Which makes it the best. If you haven't been then you will not understand until you go.

This certainly fits the definition of dive bar. Smoking inside with patrons parking their motorcycles inside the bar. Crappy typical run of the mill American beers on tap, but also has a few decent beers, so no real complaints there. If you like IPAs, try the Southern Tier 2xIPA. A few of those and you'll be good. TVs to watch the game. Nice computerized jukebox so pretty much all the music you could think of if you want to pay for it. I don't really smoke much, so unless you do it's nothing out of the ordinary.

This was where us crazy yelper's went to after our amazing Elite event. They had no idea what hit them when we all came walking in. They handled our group very well, super friendly bartenders, a juke box, a pool table, an awesome local dive bar. Wait, I just saw they have $5 margaritas everyday, heck I could have continued drinking them last night. We were all having so much fun as we took over the whole pub. This place is chill, nice sized bar, an awesome hangout in downtown. Happy Hour 4-7 pm, oh yes I will be back, great location that is very convenient. We were all taken care of efficiently with great service. Kudos to the two bartender's last night, you did a great job. The prices are very reasonable, non pretentious cool local pub. See you soon, and again thank you for taking such great care of us!

All in a good mood after the Elite event, we quickly invaded this spot just in time to catch the last minute and a half of the Heat game, which put us in an even better mood. I like it. It's a big, spacious, simple bar. I was going to give 4 stars, but it's really 3.5 - and considering some of the other bars to which I've given 4, I can't go that high here. It wasn't that the beer selection was terrible - they did have a couple nice choices on the menu, but as I went down the list with the bartender, none of them were in stock. It's kind of annoying to order at a bar and get down to your 4th menu choice before you hit upon something they actually have. Clearly, there's a demand for the good stuff, so why not call the distributor and get some? Cool place to chill, though, a real bar smack in the middle of Downtown....wow, never thought I'd see the day. Judging from everyone's reactions, this will likely turn out to be *the* after-party location for any future downtown Yelp events. Get those inventory management issues squared away, and I'll probably be inclined to throw an extra star this way.

I was "dragged" by Rony and Wine Goddess (ok I went VERY willingly :) to Pub One after last nights Elite event and have to say Pub One is what a bar should look like: pool table , cool tunes, a fun crowd and plenty of TVs to cheer your home team on. Although I lost, I enjoyed my epic pool battle with Arwen L and some disco dancing. Oh, and they have a very clean bathroom. I'm very glad I came along!

Pub one is a dive bar but not in the fun, adorable way we have come to know. It's basically a place where shady downtown citizens come to roll joints and kick back and play pool. Also forget about having the advertised goose island specials, the bartender won't know what your talking about and you have to settle for an overpriced Stella.

    (1)
  • Natasha A.

Pub One became the Yelp Elite after party hot spot numero uno. Between the jukebox and the pool table there was plenty of entertainment for us yelpers that just don't stop. It was good that they had TVs too for us to see the end of the Heat beating the Celtics in Game 2. Throw in cheap libations and you've made a group of very happy yelpers.

This was the chosen spot after a great Elite Event. Once again, a great dive bar , cheap drinks, nice jukebox, dancing, crazy times, great people!. A girl can get used to this!

The Yelp Elite crew has a habit of taking over local bars post Elite events. Last night, Pub One was basically Yelp Miami's Headquarters. We watched the end of the Heat game (who won, you ask? The Miami Heat, of course), some Yelpers played a little pool, we danced, and drank the night away. Drinks are pretty cheap. My bay breeze was $6 which is about a buck less than it is at nearby Transit and Tobacco Road, and has a much more "chill" kind of vibe. It reminds me a little bit of the back bar area at B&B in Brickell. I'll definitely be back. I love finding bars close to work.

Don't let the exterior scare you, this place is down south comfort! The inside is a dive bar, but the people are friendly, the drinks are cheap, there is a juke box, pool table and foosball table. The fellow patrons seem cool, no intimidators or haters, everyones just having a good time. Good selection of beers, and everything was very reasonably priced. You can smoke inside if you smoke, and they have tv's playing sports and/or sportscenter. Parking was pretty easy too, did not even pay because we said the hell with it and did not get a ticket! check it out for a good place to hang with your friends and have a drink

pub one is scary looking. the characters that roam around the vicinity look very suspicious. some of them are quiet, some of them are more talkative but all harmless. i ended up at pub one with a bunch of yelpers after the event at lime. im glad i decided to join for that. pub one was good to us. there was a jukebox pumping the good shit. tv's were all tuned into the nba playoffs. service was typical of a dive bar. same as the prices. that means, not the fastest service but very good prices. i kinda lost count. i got about 3 or 4 glasses of scotch, a jack & ginger ale and 3 or 4 beers. i think my bill was 50 bucks or something close to that. thats fucking awesome, isnt it? so will i be back? for sure, this is the kind of neighborhood bar you wanna go with your buddies to talk about the end of the world or to discuss other apocalyptic scenarios that might occur soon.

This is not a happy or light bar. The beers are cold and they are open really late. There is not much else nice to say. Pretty much a good place if you are ending your night in downtown and want one more drink

My boyfriend and I visited this pub while we were on vacation in Miami. We wanted a local pub with cheaper prices than the touristy areas. This had pretty good yelp reviews raving about the fun atmosphere and cheap drinks, so we checked it out. Sitting at the empty bar, we drank a couple bud lights each before telling the bartender that we were visiting from out-of-state. The bartender then warned us that the Bud Lights cost $5 per pint. I'm not even kidding you! We had been paying $3.00 per 20 oz Bud Light in the tourist area and now this lady was going to charge us $5 for 16 oz. I've seriously NEVER had such an expensive domestic beer. I think the lady was just taking advantage of us since we were tourists and it left a really foul taste in my mouth. I have to say terrible atmosphere, expensive drinks, and an unfriendly staff. FAIL! I really disliked this pub.

"Wait, did you just say that your bar serves whatever I want till 5 am? Then I'll have one of each, please just space them out over the next six hours while I choose awesome songs on the jukebox and make friends with whomever walks in the door, thanks."

Smokey and divey. Just what one wants in a dive bar. Great beer selection. Good juke box. Rough around the edges bartenders.

Was traveling in Miami and found this place to hang out with friends. Fun people, great bartenders and staff Robert behind the bar was great and introduced us to Joe, the owner. Nice people, laid back bar, pool, music and reasonably priced drinks. We were staying close by and got a little carried away with the partying, we had planned to walk back to the hotel but ended up taking a cab. they called us a cab, waited with us, helped us in and made sure the taxi driver knew where we were going. If I worked in Downtown Miami I would be a regular they were just that nice. It is a great place to hang out open really late too. :))

I love Pub One. Seriously! The only reason I even attempted to check this place out is because of the great reviews from my fellow Yelpers who I trust wholeheartedly. Pub One's location is perfect for a pre-concert cocktail (or 3). The bar is tucked away on 1st Street just to the right of the stairs that lead up to the Metro Mover. If you walk straight to Biscayne Blvd, you end up right in front of the Klipsh Ampitheatre. First of all, this place reminds me of Transit Lounge. But, it's a little bit smaller in size and has less local art work and lounge areas. I feel bad for the bartenders - the bar is HUGE - they are constantly running back and forth across the room. Pub One has everything a good dive bar should have, a kickin touch screen juke box, a pool table, ample seating and cheap drink prices. I was impressed by the selection on the juke box - they had everything from 2 Live Crew to old classic rock to new stuff. Happy hour is from 4-7 everything is 50% off or two for one. I showed up at exactly 7 p.m. on the dot and the bartender stilled offered me the happy hour special with a smile. Even after happy hour is over, the drink prices are still reasonable. What a great find. Did I mention that I love this place?!?!

The sign went up today. It reads Pub One. I also found out they are open till 3 am which is a first for this part of town. Oh they also have a jukebox for our listening pleasure. Since the do not serve food they have partnered with a few local restaurants the will deliver. On a side note I can't stop eating these dang Twizzlers! Help! lol

One of the best bars around. Owner created cheers in Miami for all of Miami. Bartender Katy is the best. Fast, good service. Order anything, they can make it. Forget the establishment come to Pub One....where sooner or later...everyone will know you name. Highly recommended.
