Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Pizza Rustica is my all time favorite pizza joint. I enjoy every aspect of it. The homemade dough, the exquisite and exotic variety of slices to choose from, and the great customer service. My first impression for the pizzeria, is that it makes me feel like I am at home. Next, the slices look delicious, and the taste, is out of this world. Pizza Rustica is quintessential for a modern pizzeria with a twist of culture.

This place makes the BEST salads!I used to go to school in the area and always hit up this place for the salads. For six bucks you get a huge salad with two bread sticks. The staff is always really nice and easy going.

The 2 stars caption says it all... MEH. I've experienced better. The pizza is $5 a slice I would just rather take my $5 elsewhere and eat something delicious rather than eat a $5 slice of MEH pizza.

The pizzas here are good. It's a bit of a drive to get here but it's all good. Price is reasonable too. Often times I have to wait long to get my order. As for everything else, its like you average place.

My boyfriend and I went to for some lunch and listen up, they have happy hour ALL day! $2 for domestic beers. Woo-hoo! We had the 3 mushroom pizza and the Chicken Alla Fiorentina. As a fellow mushroom lover with my food, I was very satisfied. It's big enough to share if you're not that hungry and the price is right- $4.95+ tax My boyfriend liked his pizza and I think we'll be back when we're craving pizza and beer for a good price. They are open late which is going to be great during finals week! P.S.: This locations gives 10% off to all FIU students who show their panther card/ FIU One card so take advantage fellow panthers!

There's not much to say about this place. I've eaten at Pizza Rustica before, the one located on Lincoln Rd. and it's much better. I stopped by this location and ordered a Hawaiian pizza slice and a diet coke. The pizza tasted like cardboard. Even the pineapple tasted stale. I will go as far as saying Pizza Hut Hawaiian pizza tastes better. I think that says a lot to my fellow Yelpers. The only good thing about this place was the price for a slice of pizza, which by the way is pretty big. Aside from that, I don't have anything positive to say about my experience.

After waiting in line nearly three hours to vote, I was famished. I decided to stop by Pizza Rustica on my way home and grab a quick bite. I'd never been before, but figured I'd just buy myself a slice and take it to go. I was a little surprised to find the pizzas sitting out on the counter. The employee just threw the slice of my choice (eggplant and goat cheese) into the oven and put it in a box when it was done. When I finally got to eat it, it was a little cold and the pizza really just wasn't all that great. I've had much better pizza for cheaper.

This chain is one of my favorite pizzas in Miami -as a native of New York state. I've had the pizza from several of the chains including South Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, and this branch on 107th. I have no issues with this particular branch. I've had pizza delivered, from this branch, to my work twice and both times the pizza was warm and delicious. Another time, I picked up a pizza to take to a friend's house, and it was made to order. I can't speak to eating inside the restaurant, but the inside seemed small and not very conducive to eating in. I'm not one to eat the pizza in the shop. My favorites are: A Quattro Formaggi, Supreme, Con Vegetable.

I was a little hesitant about coming to this location since i always go to the orginal one at the beach.. but given that i was craving pizza and it was right across from FIU i had to trust my fellow yelpers and try it. Im glad i did, the pizza was really good and fresh. The people working there were very nice and brought our pizza out fast. If im ever in the mood for pizza rustica but cant drive all the way to the beach to get it, im glad i have one 10 mins from home :)

  • Isbel M.

I had the spicy chicken pizza and it was good. My husband had the pepperoni and he said it lacked flavor. It's located in a strip mall across from FIU. Does not have the same feel as the location on the beach. I guess their pizza tastes better at 2:00 am!

LOVE THIS PLACE! When I'm on break I never know where to go and finally Pizza Rustica opened a block away from school! Their pizza is PHENOMINAL! There is plenty of pizza that you can choose from. I had the spicy chicken, which was delish! Oh and did I mention that it is only $4.95 for a HUGE slice? The service is great. They are very nice. The venue is a bit small but its nice and very chill. They have awesome music play at all time and free WIFI. I definitely recommend this place!

The plaza around the area is kinda of sketchy, but it is only my first time there. I actually found out through yelp that this pizza place is good. Slices are big but you still have to try one of each at sometime. When you have pizza place with so much variety as well a very rare set of toppings you have to go all out when there. You wont be disappointed.

  • Len D.

If I am in the mood for quick and a higher class pizza than say Pizza Hut or Little Ceasar. I would come by here. Out of all the pizzas they have my favorite is the Rustica with artichoke, olives, tomatoes , prosciutto, and basil. The only thing I have to say is the last 2 larger orders we ordered were cold. I would suggest re-heating it in the oven before eating. I felt like they just grabbed whatever was around on display and put it in a box. Still love the place though. Cheaper than Grazianos.

  • Veronica D.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Pizza Rustica is drunken late nights in South Beach, leaving Cameo, wanting a bar b q chicken pizza cause "it helps you sober up." Boy was i pleasantly surprised when I discovered a PR right smack in my very own hood! PR has a variety of pizzas, my fav being the whole wheat, caprese pizza and the bar b q chicken, YUM! They also have deserts. I wont go into detail.....but it involves allot of Nutella! How can you top all of the above?.......... WINE AND BEER....winning! The restaurant is very clean, good service, and they deliver....... so your fat ass never has to leave the house. FANTASTIC!

    overpriced reheated pizza

  • Dallas C.

DELICIOUS! Best pizza on South Beach... Great portions and I enjoy every option they have! Tastes like authentic pizza and this is my favorite default meal of choice in South Beach! Much better eating ANYTHING here than some expensive tourist-traps on Ocean Drive or the jerk-servers of the overpriced restaurants all over Miami. We seriously go to this place sometimes twice a day when on vacation!!!!!

  • Samy F.

This Pizza Rustica location is ok. It's clean. The people who work here are nice. and lots of FIU students come here. I love the Pizza Rustica pizzas. However, I found this location to be blah. I prefer the original Pizza Rustica in Miami Beach.

    (3)
  • Danny F.

I guess Pizza Rustica is becoming Miami's next Burger King. Makes you wonder if Burger King ever actually made real hamburgers... The feeling that comes when you've eaten something too many times is starting to creep up. The fact that they offer more than 1 different type of pizza is what's keeping me awake. The location is kinda small, and competition for who's getting your lunch money is aggresive. You choose, but I might just go somewhere else next time.

    (3)
  • Sean G.

Pizza Rustica has always been hit or miss for me. I've been to several different locations, but I'm happy to find that the one right across the street from campus is the best. The pizzas are very unique, and you're missing out if you don't experiment. Honestly, the cheese and pepperoni slices look bland and greasy. Instead, you should try out the ultimate veggie or the 4 funghi. They even have a dessert pizza that is covered in chocolate. Fair Warning though! It's great that they're open pretty late on weekdays, but if you go around the time they're closing, chances are your pizza is gonna taste a bit stale and at times over-salted. Otherwise, it's a good pizza place, and the location can't be beat.

  • Patty C.

This place makes great out the ordinary pizza AND it is VERY affordable!

  • O'Henry C.

woohoo! finally some action in this work joint! $4.95/ huge slice of pizza will make you hollar. had tomato basil. extra basil with EVOO (thumbs up for rachel ray!) was added after the reheat. 8)! friendly staff. good food. cheap. looking forward to be a regular here.

  • Lourdes D.

Was there for the 1st time yesterday. The pizza we ordered was good but always get a fresh ordered pizza. Those pizzas that are pre-made and reheated as you order taste, well OLD of course. Their garlic rolls are not good; a croissant like thing made with the same pizza dough with not enough flavor. Tried their chocolate cannon, and although it had t he makings of a decent dessert, again the same dough was used and it was too salty to enjoy. Would I come back, maybe. One last thing... I guess since they are located across from FIU they feel the need to blast club music so loud you have to practically scream your order; not very inviting for diners that want to eat in! Tone it down people; if I want club music well, I'll go to a club!

  • James K.

I joined Yelp just to save any prospective pizza lovers from this horrible branding trap. Like everyone else, when I heard there was a Pizza Rustica opening up so close to FIU where I go to school, I was pretty excited about the opening. So one evening, me and my friends decide to head over and try it out. Now, Pizza Rustica is known for being kind of hip and trendy and I've been to both South Beach locations and the one on US-1 so I already know they play club music inside but I was totally not prepared by how LOUD the music was! Me and my friends all agreed it was kind of absurd and we left to eat outside but they still have a stereo system outside so it was pretty much the same thing. Me and my friends ended up sitting and waiting for our pizza in silence and eating in silence because the music made it so difficult for us to talk to one another. When we were ordering our food, the restaurant had maybe a couple other people inside and two people behind the counter, a woman and a man I guess own the franchise. They seemed to not really care about the customers and flirt around the whole time and it made me really uncomfortable because I just don't want to see the guy putting the pizza in the oven and the girl taking my money hitting on one another? Another thing that grossed me out was that the girl put on a glove to touch our pizza and put it on a plate before she put it in the oven and took our money with the SAME gloved hand. That's pretty much like putting your money-hand all over our pizza... The pizza itself was gross. I had the hawaiian pizza, my friend had the chicken parm pizza, and my other friend had just the basil and cheese pizza. My friend with the chicken told me the chicken tasted fake and processed. My pizza was cold and just very lackluster tasting and my other friend who just got the basil and cheese said she felt like she had wasted her money. We all agreed we would have just taken the Wendys across the street over this. I'm very disappointed by this Pizza Rustica. Don't get suckered in by the familiar name or the convenient location. It's just not good.

Awesome pizza and and great customer service love coming here, I recommend this place to anyone that loves great quality pizza !! It's right across from FIU

  • Alana A.

Less than mediocre. The place is kind of dingy and dark. Although every time I've gone it has been empty, the tables have still been dirty. The pizza is ok - definitely not pizza I salivate over, but it's still edible. Kind of bland and never seems fresh. The prices are absolutely ridiculous for what it is (even with the FIU discount). Service has always been friendly though. But still, I can eat much better pizza for a better price somewhere else.

Great pizza for an extremely good price and its right across from FIU. I came here at least once a week and it never disappoints

This is undoubtedly one of the best pizza places in town. Although I've never set foot in the store, their delivery service is one of the fastest, and friendliest, and the pizza did not disappoint. I ordered the XL Margherita and the Nutella Cannons and I'm ordering them again today. Not cheap, but well worth the price.

I've been coming to this Pizza Rustica for a long time! And I have to say this place is worth more than 5 stars. They have different flavor of pizzas! They have meats, chicken, pork, veggies, white dough, wheat dough and gluten free! You can either have them by the slice or get a pizza pie! Then they also have paninis, which are huge and they have all kinds as well. The salads are enormous, all their veggies are fresh! They also have dessert, Nutella cannons, dulce leche cannons, Nutella pizza!!! And their prices are perfect! I love knowing that everything they do here is fresh and there's no preservatives. This place is family owned and are always more than happy to answer any questions! Keep up the Great work! You have a customer for life with me!

The pizza was not cooked and it was thrown all over the place. When I called in to inquire what happened they said they would make another pizza but did not have ingredients for what I wanted. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!!

  • Seth L.

If there was an option for no stars. I would choose that. I have base to judge food on because apparently the delivery guy is a liar. Says he came to my house when I have a small dog who didn't even bark when the guy was supposed to deliver the food. The owner is a liar. And if you are hungry I would try something else. I'm so agitated I hope everyone reads this. And never orders from this place. If you can't provide a sevice. DONT OFFER IT

you want pizza, then there is good pizza. You want a salad, they have great salad. Enough said. The choices are plenty...not the best you ever had.. but it will fill the void and satisfy your need. The service here is pretty good too. They are very attentive. No problems here.

  • Carlos M A.

This place needs to close ! Pizza is better at little Cesar ! The 5 dollar one ! Staff is un-friendly and in-welcoming ! All the pizza is displayed all ready therefore the pizza is a nice Luke warm once you eat it. This place night work at the grove or south beach late at night when one needs to be drunk to enjoy soggy , Luke warm , and over priced pizza !

  • Sam R.

The pizza from this place is what i would call a "waste of calories." if you're going to have a cheat meal every now and then, you want it to be delicious. and this is not where you would want to go. The pizza was cold and under-cooked and the sauce was overtly sweet with no real flavor. stay away from this place, go next door to natural chicken grill instead

Terrible, I dont even think any of the ingredients are fresh. Please dont waste your time
