Pros: 1.) great food entree 2.) friendly services 3.) lovely view of the beach Cons: 1.) 15% tip auto - big mistake - what if I want to give 20%. Some customers might be mad if this is auto gratitude. 2.) sold margarita cup drink automatically. Again , if I'm traveling , I don't want a glass drink in my luggage . I told the waiter I didn't want the cup , maybe he didn't hear me .

Terrible service and filthy restrooms. After we ordered, I overheard the people at the table next to us say that the service had been horrible, but I blew it off, attributing it to one patron's experience. We waited for nearly an hour for our food and no one even came by to check on us, despite it being fairly empty. We flagged down TWO different waiters who said they would tell our waiter but he never came. We finally got up to leave and saw the manager say to a waiter who alerted him "let them leave" and then he literally just waved at us and sarcastically said goodbye. It was the most bizarre experience. Also there was actually feces on the toilet in the women's restroom. Just no.

If I could give it an even lower rating, I would. The waiter was extremely pushy. I can understand trying to upsize the drinks from small to medium (he wouldn't let it go), but when he continuously questioned someone in my group getting only a sandwich (one of the cheaper dinner options) that's getting a little out of hand. Not to mention he counted the money that we gave him for the bill AT the table as we sat there. Also, the linen napkins were filthy. The beers with the "take home glasses" were $15, plastic, and the waiter took them without even asking if we wanted them. Don't go to this place, overpriced and the food is not great. It's a definite tourist trap.

I have come here for over 10 years every time I visit Miami they have good food, good service and the BEST mojitos I have ever tasted! My favorite is the mango mojito. They serve all their drinks with a sugar cane which I absolutely love!

My husband and I decided to have celebrate our aniversary in the Bayside, we wrer walking around and stop in this restaurant. BIG MISTAKE. Believe it was horrible !!!!!!!!! A bad experiencie, poor costumer service, the food tasteless, this plece ruined my night. STAY AWAY !!!!!! We should read the reviews before.

Went for lunch here during our "Downtown leg" of our Miami trip. We strolled in due to the following reasons: 1) Prices appeared cheap. 2) Adequate seating as we had Ian in a stroller. 3) Portions appeared decent. We ordered the following: 1) Roast Pork (Lechon Asado) 2) Steak Sandwich (Pan Con Bistec) 3) All beef hotdog (Perro Caliente) Food was bland, fatty, and was kind of cold when served? Bill with tip came to $48.00.

The pickup is so so bag :/ in the menu say "ceviche ". But the restaurant don't have , so :/ anyway

  • Wirlenys Q.

Drinks are extremely pricey and I ordered a churrasco salad it was a wasted of money just a bunch of lettuces with no dressing, no cheeses, no even salt and just a few pieces of steak at the top. Please go somewhere else and on TOP of that cockroaches everywhere... They don't deserve a star at all

  • Josue M.

Not sure why the place has so low ratings.. The server we had (Miguel) was great! Explained every question I had about the menu, took his time and no rush. The food was great and the prices wer good also to be in a tourist area. Yeah I know not all servers are good, specially when they dont care about the service cause they add gratuity to everything in miami beach and or Downtown miami areas where tourist are. But this restaurant was great. The whole fried frish was AMAZAING.. Fresh out the water.. And the apps also. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT

  • Rebecca R.

The food was good. The atmosphere was great, oceanside seating available. The service lacked, either the waitress was too busy or just not attentive enough. The host was good, he "reeled" us in.

    (3)
  • Warren B.

Skip the food and the cocktails made with that horrible, cheap sour mix. People watching is key here because the food is such a horrible disappointment. Do not order food or God forbid a Margarita Cocktail. It just sucks. The fry oil seems to need changing and the bread on my Cuban sandwich may have been microwaved to order. Watching the parade of the newly riche is more amusing.

Mmmmmmmm.... if you love CUBANO food you're gonna love this spot. The waitress was an sweet and funny. I would definitely recommend this place. Great ambiance and right by the water. The drinks hit the spot!! (Blue Long Island) Awesome Sauce!!!!!

  • Chris S.

Couldn't have been more disappointed. The food was terrible. Sadly, I'd been here a few times in the past and had a better experience, but while the service was sufficient the flavor didn't rival it. We started with alligator bites and croquestas, both of which were cold, bland and definitely not authentic. For dinner we had the mahi mahi and shrimp cooked in a garlic lemon wine and butter sauce. The shrimp was ok, but the mahi was dry and lacked any flavor. Also, the white rice and beans were cold. For a place on the water in a big tourist area it's exactly what I'd expect. This place must make it's money off first time customers because after this experience (and by the way a $85 bill) I couldn't imagine anyone returning twice.

    (2)
  • Laura A.

I don't not recommend this place at all. The food was over priced for what you get and service is pretty horrible. The food had decent flavor but it really didn't taste fresh at all.

    (2)
  • Ilke V.

food is so bad they don't even come by after thry serve you to ask how things are! horrible food, service with the worst rocking tabes that they don't fix.

    (1)
  • Sarah D.

One star cuz I can't give zero. Keep walking! They never have half of the things on the menu and the staff just sucks. They aren't too happy to be there and you can't convince them to help you out.

My mother-in-law was in town so we came down to Bayside for a boat tour and had lunch at Mambos. The server was a nickname for one's posterior region. He came out and asked if we wanted something to drink and we asked for water. He asked if we wanted Perrier or Miami water. The later being said with disgust. We chose regular water, much to his chagrin. We had to flag him down to order. A table next to us that got seated after we ordered, got their food ten minutes before us. We finally got our food and it was all lukewarm. I had the Cuban burger, my wife the cuban sandwich and my mother in law the steak sandwich. I don't recall what my daughter ordered. The flavors were fairly good, but not wow. The prices are a little high, but not too bad. We hands down had the worst server, but I didn't notice any other table getting good service. Our server had to be flagged down again to get the check. This place is only open due to it being in a heavy tourist area, hence TOURIST TRAP, stay away.

    (2)
  • Bryan C.

Food was just ok. Nothing great. Service was bad. They added the tip as a "service charge" without letting us know AND they attempted to overcharge us for the bill. Didn't even give free refills on soda! I felt like the server was a bad used car salesman. I won't come back here again.

We attended the Cuba Nostalgia Show at the Youth Fair Grounds in Southwest Dade. The show was awesome, great music, great art, nice clothing - and great Bacardi Mojitos!! Mambo provided the food which was delicious....the Papa Rellena, the Croquestas and Masitas de Puerco were excellent!!! The only negative was the food runner. The ladies working the line were very nice and accomodating. The rice (moros) had run out so there was a long line of 15 minutes waiting for the rice....which would have been ok if it hadn't been for this little food runner with a chip on his shoulder! He came up with the hot food cart and the lady behind us asked him if he had rice with him. His response, was "listen lady, you have to wait, there is only so much we can do, if you don't like it, eat something else" Unacceptable! I am in the business, if that were my employee, that would have been his last day of work!

Great location and atmosphere. Food was good, but not amazing. Service was slow, but friendly.

  • Meghan H.

Worst meal I have ever eaten in my life. Service was terrible and manger was even worse. When I asked to take the tip off the check I was told to just sign the credit card and leave. REALLY!!!! I would highly recommend to skip this place!

    (1)
  • Orly M.

This place is such a tourist trap. The food is a notch beyond mediocre and the servers have such attitude, you would think you were eating at a fancy restaurant with tasty food. They seem to think they aren't working at a crappy mall restaurant. I got the pollo soup, which I swear to you was Campbell's chicken noodle. Tasty enough in a salty, preservative-laden way but noy very Latin. I ordered this salad with avocado, peppers, and onions because I was craving avocado. It cost more than the garden salad, presumably because it was "Latin". It came without the avocado! And it wasn't especially good or worth the price. It's nice eating on the water but you'd have to pay me to come back here.

Whenever I'm in Miami, I have to have Cuban food almost everyday. My friend lives around Bayside and we walked over on the 4th to check out the sites. I chose Mambo because #1 it was Cuban food and #2 we were nowhere near the live band that was playing at the time which you could hear throughout the entire shopping area. She got a Cuban sandwich and I got the ropa vieja and we shared some marquitas. The food was good and we were able to sit outdoors to enjoy the little bit of nice weather before the rain came.

    (3)
  • Jen T.

Authentic Cuban roast pork at a good value in Bayside. Beautiful waterfront tables. Don't miss out on the sweet plantains.

    (3)
  • Terry G.

The food was ok, churrasco and a shrimp cocktail, but the very best was their dirty mojito... very nice. A pleasant view of the harbor was a bonus.

    (3)
  • A B.

Just had the sampler platter, was alright, pork was kind of dry and chips were greasy. Great view though and people watching.

    (3)
  • Ferdi E.

yup - i am a miami tourist. i wont deny that - but i have had better ropa viejas; and the masitas was pretty good - being from california tho, its hard to judge great cuban, dominican, and latin american food - it gets bonus stars for being in the shopping district right on the water.

  • choad x.

not bad for mall food. beats hot dog on a stick for lunch.

    (3)
  • Vito S.

Don't waste your time and money. The restaurant was less than half full and we waited more than 45 minutes for our food. We asked if they would at least bring out some chips for the kids. ..being a Cuban restaurant we assumed they would give us some plantains, instead they opened up a bag of BBQ potatoes chips and put them on a plate! When our food finally arrived 2 dishes had avocado skin in the plate and avocado want even an ingredient in those plates. Manager needs to find a new line of work.

  • Liz R.

DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!! Terrible service Sub par food Absolute worst dining experience ever. So mad I left hungry and thirsty bc I was so aggravated with the entire situation. Never again. How do u leave a restaurant hungry?!

The Wolfe (sidekick) and I hit the Red Bull Miami Flugtag over at Bayfront Park and then ducked over to Bayside Marketplace to escape the heat and the crowds and enjoy a tasty and cold beverage before making our way back to the MetroMover and some mass transit fun. The highlight of this particular joint, separate of the obvious benefits afforded by a waterfront locale packed with tourists, locals, college students and more, is the secret bathroom buzzer dance that happens here which makes for hours of fun. See, for those who've never been to Bayside, especially during a big outdoor event, the place gets a lot of touristy foot traffic. Subsequently this bar has hidden the bathroom behind a nondescript door painted slate gray. In order to get into the bathroom, you first have to know where it is. The door is not marked. Once you are somewhat certain what lies hidden behind door number not-numbered, you can 1. Tug, in vain, at the locked and unmarked door 2. Cross your legs tightly and hope that this is indeed the toi-toi, and hope someone comes out quickly... Or, 3, have some kindly patrons like El Lobo and I direct you to the stern faced coot who runs the joint. He obviously and finds obscene pleasure in buzzing' people into his dirty bathroom so that no one who hasn't overpaid for their food and drink can use it. Excellent entertainment. The proprietor should put it on YouTube. Nice seating overlooking the marina. The service was timely enough. The drinks were overpriced, but about what you expect at Bayside. The people watching was amazing. Cabeza OUT!

  • Judy S.

Came to mambo cafe on bayside market and order mofongo con camarones. Thank god me and my husband shared because it was a lot of mofongo, but the camarones ( shrimp) was only about 5 pieces, not enough to share. None the less still supper delicious. We were seated very fast and service was quick! Will come again, when I am in Miami!!!

    (3)
  • Chris G.

Breakfast buffet was ok. They shut it down without telling me so I only got one plate. A bit overpriced. Waitress was good. Won't go there again most likely.

  • A M.

Pretty damn good! Beautiful atmosphere, sat outside right where all the yachts come in. I had the fried calamari and my other half had the plate with rice, meat and yucca, he was very satisfied! Will definitely return when I'm back in Miami.

    (4)
  • Dory S.

So yummy. Started with the calamari and it was super tasty! Then I had the marinated and grilled chicken and it came with rice, beans and plantains- Delicious. My boyfriend had the beef fajitas, in his words "freakin amazing" The service was great, the food came out very quickly. Also had the mango mojito... Probably the best mojito I've had here- and I've had a lot of mojitos. Definitely delicious and we will be back!

  • Dan M.

I've been to Mambo quite a few times. I always sit at the bar. I like the bartenders quite a bit. They are always nice and attentive. This is my place of choice before Heat games as I always like to go early, park and grab dinner and a drink before the game. Also, this is one of the few restaurants where I've been able to find mofongo which I know sounds crazy in south Florida but true. I think a little context is in order here.... I see a lot of complaints regarding this and other restaurants at Bayside and any local can tell you that if you're expecting a fine dining experience at Bayside, you're going to be very disappointed. It's very touristy and casual and quite honestly I couldn't imagine another reason of going to Bayside outside of an event at AAA next door. I suspect expectations have a lot to do with some of the other reviews.. or maybe I'm just more laid back I suppose.

  • Brian M.

1 star for the decent empanada. Otherwise 0 stars. How can you as a business have an entire side of a menu page of wine listed. More than half of which are bottle only and claim not to sell by the bottle bc they dont sell alot of wine. We expressed our displeasure with this and waitress claimed her boss wouldnt allow it. Are you serious? This is on a Friday night and I can see dozens of bottles on the rack behind the bar. Why? More money by the glass. We ordered the fajitas for two for $33 which came out cold. Not sizzling whatsoever. With only 4 small tortillas. 4! For a shared platter for 2 people. Of course we needed more and were charged an additional $1 for another 4 small tortillas. Everything about this place mad me upset we stayed after our mediocre appetizer and the whole wine fiasco. I left here sad from the poor quality of the food to the terrible service. Stay away!

  • Vanessa V.

Tourist Trap BEWARE! Horrible food. I had the papa rellena which I am certain it was made with artificial mash potato (if that exists, if not.. This place just invented it) The Vaca Frita was cold and the meat tasted old. And to top things of... They add the tip to the bill!!!!!

    (1)
  • Bruce G.

Was choosing between this restaurant and the Hard Rock. Opted for this and regretted it. We ordered the fish sandwich and the garlic chicken. I've had a better fish sand which at Burger King, which is what it looked like, including some limp fries. My garlic chicken was not roasted and was something I expected to get from a cheap downtown cafe. It was 15 dollars and entirely underwhelming. I imagine they do a brisk business with tourists who will only ever eat there once. I know I will never eat there again. I would've given it one star, but the Bayside view was nice.

    (2)
  • Giovanna P.

It was pretty good food, ate everything on the plate and the prices are in accordance with what they serve.

    (4)
  • Manuel A.

Probably one of the worst meals I've had in a very long time. I had an overpriced hamburger which I couldn't literally finish eating due to its tasteless bun and overcooked patty. The place did have a nice view and friendly service. I am not planning to revisit Mambo Cafe anytime soon.

    (1)
  • Julie T.

Everything in their counter looks delicious and fattening. Which can be a good and bad thing. Depends on how you look at it. But they are the only ones who had fresh fruit in the entire Bayside shopping center. And that's awesome.

    (3)
  • Janice S.

We ended up at Mambo cafe for a late lunch and glad we decided to eat here. Service was great. We ordered the ceviche, mofongo and fiancé had a seafood dish (forgot the name). All of the dishes were excellent. My first time trying mofongo and it was really good. The bathroom is a little scary though. It's behind an unmarked green door. I was skeptical about it and didn't dare to open it so I told our waitress I couldn't find the bathroom. She walked me to that same green door but it was locked so one of the other workers had to open it. I hurried my butt up in there for sure!

    (4)
  • H. D.

Basic Cuban food. Of course I ordered a chicken dish. It was a bit dry and the rice was just ok. Nothing really stood out. My hubby ordered fried fish and loved it. On the plus side, my drink was nice and strong. Good place for a quick bite to eat and convenient.

    (3)
  • Rozanne D.

I ordered the appetizer sampler and it was fine. I didn't eat anything else so I can't comment on any of the entrees. Service was ok. Atmosphere casual/fun but loud

  • Shannon P.

Ate lunch here with my sister today and loved it! We ate here last time we visited Miami and never forgot how much we enjoyed the food. This time I ordered the Pechuga a la Plancha, which was absolutely delicious. It was served with black beans, white rice, and plantains. Boy, were the plantains were amazing! My sister had a cup of Cuban coffee and said it was the best she has had so far here in Miami. We shared a slice of delicious tres leches cake as well, which was diving. It rained, so we weren't able to eat near the bay, but the view here is beautiful if you are able to get a table overlooking the water. The service was a bit lackluster/not attentive at times, but not enough to discourage us from returning. We'll definitely be back!

    (4)
  • Janneth R.

A good place to have Cuban food in Bayside Marketplace. We had the Breaded Chicken Steak and a Chef's special with lobster. Both included rice with fried sweet plantains and beans. Big portions. Good margaritas.

    (4)
  • Bill D.

After reading the reviews, I was a bit reluctant to try but did it any way and glad we did. The Beef with Red Beans and Rice and Fried Plantains were a home run. We had Civeche for an appetizer and it was equally great. Service was good but, as one Yelper noted, the waiters get a bit aggressive in trying to secure diners, which is usually a turn-off for most people, so I hope the owner is reading my words. This place would have been a five star other than that. If I go to Miami, this place is on my hit list of places to go back to! Check em' out.

    (4)
  • Vadim M.

Decent place in the downtown miami, didn't really enjoyed our food but CUBAN Coffee was great! Right what was needed at that time. Took so terribly wrong with the check!

    (3)
  • Steven E.

I am surprised by the amount of the negative reviews here. Our experience was mostly excellent. We had a lunch and a dinner here on different trips to Miami. We had Ceviche for our appetizer which was excellent. We ordered some quesadillas, which were a little on the soggy side, but the flavor was good. The drinks were excellent and so was the waiter. Thanks!

  • Alejandro C.

I was shopping in Bayside and ran into this lovely restaurant. Couldn't ask for a better meal of Cuban food. My wife and I sat near the water and chilled out with some beers.

    (5)
  • Maly H.

I think this restaurant food is horrible. I ordered fish sandwich it's dried and hard to even chew and the bun was staled. The calamari was the only thing good. The waiter was friendly and nice.

    (3)
  • Charles L.

If you take a look at my ratings, you'll see that I rarely give 1 star. This restaurant was really THAT bad. The food was not good and way overpriced for what you get. This would be livable but our server was a pompous jackass. I know your experience is highly dependent on who takes care of you. Unfortunately, we spent too much money on poor food and terrible service.

    (1)
  • henry h.

We had the shrimp gambas, fried fish sandwich, kids cheese pizza, and ham croquettes. Waitress never brought the fries with the pizza. The fish sandwich was dry and lacked flavor. Service was very poor. We waited 30 plus minutes for our food and about the same after we asked for the check. The high chair was falling apart to the point where you could see the wooden seams coming apart. I would not recommend this place.

    (1)
  • Amanda T.

Can you rate 0 stars? FAIL It was too noisy. Our server was barely there. They took too long to take our order. After a half hour I got a pile of plaintain that was cold inside. Too much $ to be treated like crap at this Miami tourist trap.

    (1)
  • E S.

HORRIBLE!! Food and service was awful. Ugh. Where do I begin... Mambo mojito was way too sweet! During the meal we had to flag waitress down for a refill. She was only standing 10ft away. On her cell phone at one point. Never prebussed anything, and at the end of the meal she only took away one dish. Left 6 on the table. Never came back to give us the bill. Was again on her cell phone. Ceviche app was gray and super fishy. We asked for fish only but it came with fish and shrimp. One person in our party was allergic to shellfish. We ordered three diff sandwiches. Steak, pork, and ham croquette. All bad. I can go on for days about how bad this place was, but just do yourself a favor and don't bother!

    (1)
  • Trish M.

We noticed an open table overlooking the water so we stopped in for a drink and a bite before the Heat game last weekend. Has a full bar (always a plus) and the menu is traditional Cuban food. We had a pitcher of sangria, mariquitas for an appetizer, and we shared the Churrasco steak. The sangria was good, not too sweet. The mariquitas were super tasty. Instead of a dipping sauce they had a mojo type sauce poured over them, excellente! The churrasco and chimmichuri were very good, came with sides of rice & beans and maduros (which had that perfect combination of soft sweetness in the middle and crispy caramelized edges). The waiter did not conceal his disappointment with the facts that we were sharing and that we were not ordering lobster, however he remained attentive and pleasant. All in all, nice meal.

    (3)
  • Bryan H.

Stale bread. Steak tastes like a dirty mop. Fries are mediocre. Produce is crap. Service was ok. I sat outside and even the scavenging birds were kinda disgusted! Oh, I came here for lunch. Maybe dinner is better?

    (1)
  • Bob P.

Crappy food, worse service! Paid with a credit card and he asked me for cash. I asked if they took credit cards and he said, " yes, cash is mo betta fo me"!! If your the owner of this crappy hole in the wall.....your probably getting ripped off by your employees!! It also took an act of congress to get our coffee refilled, and although we were the only people there, it seemed like they couldn't wait for us to leave. Let's see....2 customers, cold, crappy food, 8 employees standing around talking..... My suggestion is to run by this place!!

    (1)
  • Tedd B.

Absolutely terrible! In all my travels, I have never eaten at a worse restaurant. My wife had Pollo Ajillo, which is a chicken dish. I had a fish sandwich. My wife's chicken was so dry that it was inedible. My fish sandwich was so bad that after a couple of bites, I gave up. How does a restaurant manage to screw up a fish sandwich? We puzzled on how a restaurant with such terrible food could possibly stay in business. Our best guess is that they cater to tourists like ourselves, who eat there once and then are gone and don't have the opportunity to spread the word about what a bad restaurant it is.

    (1)
  • Allen H.

The waiter was a little pushy and I observed the bartender make contact with her nose and proceed to make a drink a few times. The outdoor seating may be a thing you're into doing depending on the weather. The four of us all ordered different entrees and we all felt that the food was just ok.

    (3)
  • Alexander B.

    Best Pollo Champignons, hands down!!

    (5)
  • Michael S.

Good location while shopping at Bay side Mall in Miami, the service is a little slow and confused, Eat inside so when the random rain storm comes you don't have to run inside and find a table , had the Cuban sandwich and it was good, not sure I would try next time with so many places in the area to eat.

So they changed their address and had someone put a fake review? Pls see commodore plaza Mambo Cafe, its the same place on the map it looks like. anywho, copy and pasted from previous: I think this spot is a chain...or it has a chain feel to it. Don't get me wrong, its decent food. Like when you have a hankering for Mexican and you go to Chili's... So where to start. they had an interesting menu. Good, "traditional" stuff. Our waiter was great. We had questions about the mofongo, and he was honest, it's not that great compared to homemade or even some other spots. The food: I had the steak something... the one with the cuban marinade. It was good, too many onions for my taste in the garnish. comes with rice and black beans and plantains. all edible. I was a bit annoyed that you can't switch out the plantains for another side, even tho they're all priced the same if you order them as sides. My friend got the roast pork, which was delectable. very tender and flavorful, i was jealous. her dish came with blackbeans cooked into the rice, and steamed yucca or cassava, i don't remember. rice and beans okay, cassava/yucca, weird gooey white stuff no flavor and wierd in texture. A couple bad things, considering how long we had to wait for the food, i thought we'd get flaming hot plates fresh out the oven. But everything was only kinda warm, on the verge of cold when it was served. The water they gave me had floaters... and the silverware had hard crusty things on it. the bill: They add 15% gratuity automatically. there were only 2 of us in the group. They're loss cuz we usually tip 20%. The mojitos are good, we had a regular and a dirty. Not the best but good. so mostly this was a good spot because its on the river, outside of a strip mall plaza thing, great in good weather, awesome people watching, edible food, and our waiter was great.

First . I will never eat there again. I had better Cuban food else where. The service is very slow. Our food came out cold . Charged us for beer that we never order. When we dispute the charge to them they acted like did not now English. Last i did not like the force tip they added on to our bill. I disputed the charges with DISCOVER and got a full refund of the bill . The only good thing about this restaurant is the view of the bay. Other than that I will NEVER go back

I would be generously give 3 stars though I think they are overpriced (which I didn't know until I found this excellent Cuban place in Little Havana area). I can understand their pricing due to the location. It's by the Marketplace where all the shopping happens. I tried the Seafood with creamy sauce and the samples platter.

One of Baysides best! The drinks were excellent and so was the waiter. Thanks!

We had a delicious sampler plate that made up for the service. Our waiter just wasn't as interested in selling to us as the other waiter was with his own tables. After 2 hours of the sampler plate and salad, the other waiter asked us to give up our table. We were ready several times to order more food and dessert, but our server rarely came back to ask us what we'd like next. Would I come back? Absolutely for the food. Work on the service. Don't force tip for service that was less than average.

I ordered vegetarian quesdillas, expecting mushrooms, onions, etc. My order was a flour tortilla loaded with cheese, and "cold". The service was horrible. The lady came and gave us our food and never came back. We had to ask a different waiter for the check! And on top of everything, with the terrible food and horrible service, they include tip for 2 people!. I would not eat here again.

Got a table waterside and enjoyed the people watching as well as the food. Been a few times before and enjoy the variety of Latin food offered. Friendly service, but the food does take a while. Fortunately not in a hurry and they kept the cold cervezas coming while we waited. Bistec chimichurra is my favorite

Decent food - the hubs loves the quesidillas. I have had the burger and the hot dog (yeah, i know - gotta get outta that comfort zone LOL). They do have some authentic sounding cuban dishes, they also have alligator (a little too far out of my comfort zone) and the daiquiris are yummy. However, service is hit or miss. It is a touristy spot since it is part of Bayside, but seriously, one time we had a waiter that never came back and we had to keep asking other servers for stuff and the next time we had an adorable young lady who was spot on the whole time. be FOREWARNED - they INCLUDE the tip in the bill. Will of course go again since the food is decent and it is right across the street from where we live, but they do need to make the service just a *bit* more consistent :)

One star is a reflection of the slow service and room temperature food. The fish creole was under seasoned to the point I had to salt and pepper it and use all of the condiments to get any flavor out of the dish. My brother and father ordered the grill fish and same story bland and tasteless. On a positive note my wife enjoyed her lobster, she had one complaint more SEASONING!!!. And by the way the sangria tasted like fruit punch, not what we where expecting. I will not return

I give a three star!!!! Went with my family of 8 for a get together. Had a blast! The services was great. I was attended by 2 waiters, a very nice lady whose name is Celina (if you go ask for her) and a waiter with a mambo black hat. They were very attentive, made sure we had everything we needed. They have a full bar (2 thumbs up) a little strong but really good. We had 4 mofongos with shrimp and a Mahi mahi and the kids had the Churrasco. It was all very flavorful although it took a while to get the order, but hanging out with the family and dancing with the live music they provided made the waiting worthwhile. I give a 3 star due to the tardiness of the food.

The food was ok. The service was terrible. It's a very touristy place and automatically adds 18% in gratuity. The waitresses know that and does not try very hard at their job. My husband and I stayed at a nearby hotel and walked over for dinner. The patio was nice and had a good view so we sat down for dinner. We ordered the fajita platter for two, a beer, and a non-alcoholic cocktail. The drinks came out right away but the food took forever. It took so long that the sun went down and it became really dark, really quick. The waitresses were lighting up the candles on the tables and they lit each table except ours. I like to see the food that I'm eating so my husband got up to change out our non-lit candle to a lit one at the next empty table. The waitresses didn't really like that and asked us not to..why I don't know. When our food finally came down, she just plopped the food at our table and left. The fajita for two came with a heaping of meat, a plate of tortillas, and a table with guac, sour cream, and rice. It was just a little awkward in the way that she decided to set the table. We had to move the plates around to make it a convenient. I noticed that we didn't have salsa. We couldn't find our waitress and so we had flag down another one. I asked if the plates came with salsa and she wasn't sure. Our waitress finally came over and explained that they were out of salsa. It's a Cuban American/Mexican food place. How can they be out of salsa? Additionally, the fajita for two came with only 4tortillas. Again, it took forever to get a waitress to our table. When we asked for more, she brought us another beer. We mentioned we didn't order any and we wanted tortillas instead. She brought us more, and it was charged on our bill. This place is just a tourist trap. If we knew better, we wouldn't have eaten here.

Ate dinner here on a week day. The atmosphere of the place is nice, open floor seating with out walls making it feel like you're outdoors even though the ceiling above you and the mall around you are still there. The food was nice, the meat was a little tough in most of the dishes and the fajitas didn't come out sizzling as you would expect, but the flavor was pretty good on everything which made up for it. The Vegi fajitas had a nice flavor different from the meat fajitas. The bill averaged around $14 plus drinks. You can get a $2.50 presidente beer at the bar. Service was... difficult to locate. We want water, lets wait 5 minutes until we see a waiter. It's time to ask for out check, 10 minutes later we see him in the distance and flag him down. We had a table of 6 and the 15% gratuity was included in the bill. Not sure if it is party size related.

The food here isn't good nor bad. It's mediocre - but it does fill you up and gets your fixing for whatever craving you may have. The menu though clearly caters to the average American tourist. You won't find much authentic here. I thought my masitas (fried pork chunks) were a bit dry, but it satisfied my craving enough, barely. The chicken fajitas were good, although they're not the best I've had in Miami. The hot dog was alright but could be better for the price. For what you get, this is kinda pricey, unless if you appreciate mediocre fast food in the $5 to $20 range. The service however was really good and friendly.

I had great service sitting at the bar. I was in and out while shopping and waiting for my tour boat cruise. Very friendly. Generous sized margaritas and no hassle getting two to go for the boat!

There is not one good thing I have to say about this place. If you don't like negative Nancys, then you better look away. . . The food was cold and took over an hour to come out! They automatically add tips to the bill- no matter your party size. The service is slow (hence the 1 hour+ wait for food) The prices are ridiculous for what you get. The calamari was soaked in oil and felt nauseating as I swallowed it. For this location, a better restaurant with better service needs to be placed here instead of this crap.

If I could give it zero stars I would. The drinks were overpriced and the found was lousy. This is also the only place that I ever not left a tip. Trust me. Keep walking. Don't Stop.

Crap service, mediocre food. I wanted to order a salad and asked the waitress what was on the $6 house salad...she replies "uh lettuce" I said "that's it!?" and she replies "and onion" WTH kind of salad is that!? The waitress asked if I wanted a drink so I ordered a mojito. Half hour later...no drink. Our food came still no drink. I asked our waitress who couldn't really tell me one way or another where my drink was. She asked another waitress who said the bartender left but she'd be back...huh? At that point I told her to cancel my drink. We ate ( chicken fajitas and a $10 dollar salad that had lettuce and onion but also tomato and avocado) and had been finished for about 15 minutes when the waitress asked if we wanted anything else. I told her we were all set and she cleared our table. 20 minutes later she came back and said "are you good"? I said no we need our bill....the bill came and there were all these extra charges ($3.75 for fajita fixings, $2.00 for cheese and $9.00 for the drink I never received). On top of all that they add a15% gratuity....well no wonder the service was crap. Our bill came to $38.62 for one order of fajitas and a garden salad. We had water to drink. I literally counted out quarters to give the exact amount because I refuse to tip any more than what is already included in my bill for service I probably wouldn't have tipped for to begin with.

Be careful! They automatically add 15% tip to your bill! We originally came here for their breakfast buffet...which is 8am to 12 noon. We got there close to 11am and they were putting everything away. Anyhow, the guy explained something happened with their propane tank so they had to take everything away (whatever that means). We ended up giving this place a try. The prices for a meal ranged from $10.95 for a sandwich to about $25.00 for a specialty entree (for lunch). We had a sandwich plate and a shrimp and fish entree (with rice). The meal was nothing special. The service was not good at all! We asked for water..got a glass with something floating in it...we asked for chili...the 1st waiter didn't bring it. Then we asked the 2nd waiter. He offered chili or salsa.."Can we try both?" ...he then brings us Crystal hot sauce. Um, ok?!??!?!? The experience was way below average. They are lucky to have a nice spot on the pier...this is probably the only way they get business. Bottom line, I would not recommend this place...it's not worth the time nor money.

Overpriced drinks, food decent. Sold me a souvenir glass without telling me. Good thing I checked the bill. Read the check carefully before you pay!
