Again, the two stars are for the ladies behind the bar. I had high hopes for the fish, which was the dish of that day. To my surprise it was nothing but a frozen fish which is a no no in anyone's book I guess who is going to have a good meal at what seemed to be a good restaurant. I intend to go and try something else since this place is not far from where I live hoping for a better experience.

Simply delicious!!! Been tempted to try this place for a while and it was definitely worth the trip!! try the "Parrillada for two", brings everything you need and more. Will definitely come back for more.

The food was good but not as good as its "cousin" Don Davis. The atmosphere is good but always empty. Friendly staff. The Lasagna very good. Try it.

Great food! I went in a very large group I want to say 20 plus people for a friends birthday. The waitresses did an awesome job given the amount of picky people we had. The food was very good. I had a steak that was to die for.

Order the sausage and blood sausage, it seem to had been precooked and just microwaved when you order it. The new your steak was ok, needs more flavor and to be more juice and tender. The fried yuca was good and the sauce was really good(you can't screw up fried stuff) Mashed potatoes ok In resume i would not come back!

Had the Entraña and it was really good. The service staff was friendly. Place was empty and clean!

I went there with my son and ordered the parrillada for two and it seemed to have been meant for one. The place was totally empty and the atmosphere felt dreary. The food was flavorless and the service was nonchalant. And to put a finishing touch on all that good stuff got hit with an 18% gratuity added to my bill. I'm sorry I worked in the food and beverage business for a long time in my younger years and a 18% gratuity is only added to parties of 8 or more so you be the judge. In conclusion I would not recommend this place to anyone. Maybe to an enemy! Lol, you've been warned.

WASTE OF MONEY, DO NOT GO!! We went to the restaurant with a groupon and it was totally not what it says in the fine print. To start with, the menu you see online (apparently the lunch menu) is not the same menu they give you upon entry, it's a pricier one, so that's the first way to fool you into buying the groupon. We ordered a Provoleta, not worth the $8 it costs, needed some love and some extra cheese, it was a tiny piece of baked cheese. Then we ordered a mid-rare Thin Steak (vacio steak) and the temperature was way off, we had to have it fixed and it wasn't even seasoned correctly, extremely bland. For a steak house you would think they would to have their temperatures down. To finalize the already bad experience, there's an 18% gratuity included in the order because it's a "discounted" groupon ticket, information that is NOT stated in the groupon fine print. Besides, I would have loved to pay the 18% if the service was good, but it was not, the waitress only came when we asked her to, since they were too busy chatting behind the bar. When I asked the waitress to talk to a manager or owner about the tip, she said they were not available, that it was their day off. As we walk out, we realized the owner was across the table from us. I talked to him and explained the situation and he did not care, he didn't even look at me as I was talking to him, all he said was thanks with a sarcastic attitude. I do not recommended this place at all, it's a waste of time and money for what it is. If you're on a budget you're better off going to The Knife in Bayside Mall.

The 5 stars here are for their Chivito sandwich! OMG!! They add bacon and a few other things to create the best chivito i've had hands down. It's not pricey and its HUGE. We went on a Sunday afternoon and they had a local singer who was not bad. We also thought their customer service was great! As soon as we sat down we were brought water and the other drinks we requested. They didn't even charge us for soda water which is always a + for me!!

Used to be a lot better. Plus it's a mission to book reservation if you do not speak Spanish. I booked the party for 20 people and the meat (Main course) was barely edible. A lot of it went back to the kitchen not even touched. Service was decent (we only had one waitor for the whole party really? This should be better planned out) everything else was mediocre at best. I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere. Parking is horrendous specially if there is another party going on.

Food was possibly cooked in old oil. I ordered entrana and was given a fatty piece of regular steak. I guess they assumed I wouldnt know the difference. I let it go and tried to have the yuka fries that were beyond over fried and not fresh, not good. The moro was definitely cooked in old oil and in bacon grease. To make matters worse they had unpopular spanish rock playing at full blast. I got sick from the food and had a headache to match my stomach ache.

The food is good. The service not so much. The restaurant has a movie set up on the side and they were playing a very loud movie.

This restaurant is awesome. Its a hidden little gem. The food here is very delicious. If you love meat, I HIGHLY recommend this place. People are very welcoming and warm. The drinks and food are affordable! The plates are HUGE. Wish more people knew about this new location because they do have another one. The place inside is old looking but thats the least of my worries. I have eaten in there other location and was just as AMAZING. Definitely going again :)))

Dona Paulina Restaurant in calle 8 is very dirty, starting with the floor. The food was terrible. I had the chicken arrollado and it tasted old. My boyfriend ordered the pork chops and they were hard to cut and no flavor. He wanted to put some salt and the salt shaker was oxide. I asked for a glass for my juice and it wasn't clean. Very old place and unpleasant to look at. Do not recommend this place to my worse enemy.

Dona Paulina's new location is nice. Comparing to the previous business at this location, it is a completely different place. I have always enjoyed the food and wine specials at their 8th st. and 29th ave. restaurant. After visiting the new place, I was impressed. The interior is changed and nicely set up. We were greeted and told to sit where we liked. The waitress was nice and took her time with the orders. The service was a little slow but I guess they were short staffed. I only remember seeing two waitresses on the floor running around throughout our visit. While our orders were moving in, some guy took over the stage and sang old Spanish hits. He sure was a smash for the older crowd but I must admit, he was pretty good. We started with the fried calamari as appetizer with their soft warm bread. Fresh and delicious is what came out of everyone's mouth. Be warned, the fried calamari appetizer is enough for one. I also had the 16 oz. Vacio/flank steak which was huge and cooked just like I asked. Well seasoned and juicy like always. I usually always go for the Russian salad and mixed roman lettuce salad for my sides. A meal for a king in my opinion. The live music, the great food, and the happy older crowd singing along will keep me coming back. Enjoy.

The meat was juicy, no need for chimichurri, the building itself is ok, vacio was very good, ordered medium, cooked perfect, was here at 3 pm , no customers and great attention. Sol del chile Cabernet with the meat was a perfect recommendation, would come to this one vs the one on 40 st.
