Mediocre Cuban food. Mediocre service (with the exception of the owner who came by a few times & was very polite.) I had the bistec de pollo with arroz moros and french fries. It was just ok. The chicken was very thin and had very little onions. I asked for more and later discovered I was charged extra for them! Ridiculous. They also charged extra when we asked for more bread. Also the fried tasted like any I could buy in the frozen food section in Publix and make at home. Overall, the experience sucked. I hate going out to eat and feeling like I threw away my money.

Very disappointed. I hope the disrespectful, rude, inconsiderate lady that answers the phone for takeout/delivery reads this. Ive called this restaurant many times to order delivery and the lady is so dam rude. She gives attitude every time you call and I don't deal with those people that don't have common sense or common courtesy. I won't be calling or going to Ciboney again. Good has been slacking and the service....you can get better service at little cuban restaurant on the corner of little Havana. And for the lady that answers the phone....find a job you don't need to deal with people because obviously no one is better than you.

Decent Cuban food, as with most other cuban restaurant places....service, however, is terrible. During my last visit...for breakfast...the server didn't event know what an "egg white" omelet was.

Horrible service like I have never seen before. They charged my card twice and I had to ask more than once for water to be served. Bread was cold and they gave me an attitude when I asked for more after serving 6 dinner rolls for a table of 10. Owner was there and when I asked to speak with her, she was folding napkins and didn't bother to approach our table. When I asked for my check, they didn't even offer a complimentary coffee. I had to bring it up to the waitress attention and only then they gave us 15% off. Receipts for one of the cards was printed 4 times, and missing for the 2nd card we used. No class or manners. Misrepresenting Cuban culture by having low class "balsero" looking refs running the place. SHAME on this restaurant and its owners for making our community believe that's how we Cubans are.

I didn't like it at all. I ordered pork chunks with yuca and black beans. The pork was cold. The yuca was in a pool of liquid. The beans were cold and had a ton of cumin. Couldn't eat the yuca or the beans. I had 3 pork chunks, but only ate one. Another person on my table ordered oxtail. Didn't have much flavor and the bowl was a pool of sauce. The waitress asked me if it was good and I said no. Didn't have the courtesy of discounting anything from the check. I didn't fight for it because we were having a birthday celebration , but I'm definitely not going back.

Let's begin with the service-horrible. The restaurant was not really busy, yet we sat at the table for 10 minutes before the waitress appeared. A couple that arrived before us was served bread and their beverages before our waitress came by. The food-mediocre at best. I ordered a steak and had a feeling they would overcook it, so I ordered it medium. It was well done. Grateful it wasn't charred. The rice was not very good and the plantains were not fully cooked. Not once did the waitress ask how things were or if we needed anything. After waiting some time we finally got the check and we have to wait some more for her to pick it up only to find out they do not accept AMEX. No biggie, but she couldn't bother to wait the 3 seconds it took to pull out another card. So we wait again. While we waited the busboy asks if he can clear the table-yes we say. He looks at the plates and asks again, which is when I realized his intent was for us to pick up and pass the plates to him. Ordinarily that wouldn't annoy me, but given the horrible service already, it just irritated me. We finally get our card back and I couldn't wait to leave. I should have checked Yelp before trying out a new local spot. I won't make that mistake twice.

Ciboney (See-bonay) - These guys were around before Columbus came tripping through and declared that he'd found India. They lived happily in their villages frying plantains, making black beans, and sipping Mojitos. Then they got wise and came to Miami and opened up this restaurant... #truestory I love Cuban food, culture, music, did I mention food? Here you can experience all three! The food is delicious and has that extra sazón we all love. If I had to single out a dish for your enjoyment I would say the Vaca Frita, The Fried Pork Chunks, and the Oxtail Stew. Add the white rice and fried plantains as your sides and DALE! (sorry for the Pitbull reference....) The walls are lined with art representing the best of Cuba. Everything from cars and cigars to photos of the island is represented here. Saturday nights are wild! They have live local bands playing merengue, salsa, and rumba until the wee hours. The bar has cocktail specials, and rowdy people having fun! Now here's a little tip.... I love a good Pan Con Tortilla (Cuban Omelet Sandwich). If you come on Sunday mornings around eleven-thirty, you'll find me ordering one of these at the bar. Something about the way they make it here that keeps bringing me back. Located on the Tamiami Trail (Southwest 8th Street) and 140th Avenue, it's in the San Miguel Shopping Plaza behind the Marathon Gas Station. Parking is plentiful and well lit. I would stay a little longer, but there's a cigar lounge nearby that's calling my name..... Buen Provecho!

Horrible and we mean horrible. Service was poor and didn't even know how the plates were. A half pitcher ( actually turned out to be a glass of sangria ) was $10. The food ( chicken &fish) was hospital grade. Pollo tropical-- is way more flavor for a Cuban restaurant
