I ordered Moo Goo Gai Pain and Hot and Sour Soup to go. As anyone who frequents Chinese restaurants knows, Moo Goo Gai Pan is white meat chicken with light veggies in a white sauce. What I got was chicken with veggies in a thick brown sauce. I am a huge Chinese food fan and appreciate the different cuisines, flavors, and seasonings that vary between Chinese restaurants. Unfortunately, however, this chicken had a very peculiar aftertaste that I can only describe as metallic. The veggies tasted the same, so I'm not sure if it was the sauce or something else in the kitchen. It is the first time in my life I actually had to throw out Chinese food that I ordered because of the taste. The only redeeming factor was the hot and sour soup which was decent.

The only reason I ate this was because I have health insurance. Mongolian beef = mystery beef Orange chickens = soggy One hour wait and forgot the dumplings.

Ordered delivery from China Lee today, for 6 people. Ordered at 11am friday, delivered at 1 pm. Called twice with no success in finding out where the food had gone. Food is mediocre at best, not great but edible. Could not recommend, particularly if you have hungry employees . . . .

Don't order delivery if you're starving. Food took almost 2 hours for delivery and it was only one meal. Food is okay.

With the exception of Mr Yum and Hy Vong, I have never had good Asian food on Calle Ocho so I was not expecting anything special when I walked into China Lee. I was however pleasantly surprised. The place was clean and relatively new looking. I ordered take out, the meal was well packaged, generous portion sized and tasty. I rate it above average for inexpensive Chinese food in Miami.

This place gets 1 1/2 stars for two reason - friendly owner (if you get to talk to her) serving Chinese, Central American, & Cuban cuisines (really weird combo if you asked me) and it's open late (until 1 am everyday). That being said, the Chinese owner (who has lived for two years in Venezuela), should really fix this place up and make the food and ambience match the price (it wasn't exactly that cheap). Why? Well... 1) The place STINKS! literally. Like bathroom stink. 2) Plain rice (thankfully slightly buttered) could be much better 3) Carne asada (which was recommended) was a tad bit dry 4) Lo Mein was generic although I did like it more than the carne asada 5) The inside is as ghetto as the outside That being said - come here if you're only desperate in every sense of the word for food late at night for Chinese food as I can't think of a place that serves Chinese food this late. Just have low low expectations! Oh, and the Chinese lady speaks Chinese better than her broken Spanish. Her English is worse. So be prepared for that as well. She's a nice woman though.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
