Worst food I've had in a long time. Nothing tasted fresh, tasted like canned food. Basically an airport food court type priced as gourmet.

At night the patio is illuminated using soft yellow lights making everything and everyone look like your in a black and white movie For a hotel cafe this place was a pleasant surprise. Chez Gastron serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and includes outdoor poolside seating, indoor seating and a full service bar. Although prices are on par with most of Miami-high, the food was actually quite good. We sampled the following: Cobb Salad with Salmon delicious mix of salad with a small portion of grilled salmon Mussels with frites large bowl of steamed mussels in a garlicly broth served with shoe string fries This place was a pleasant surprise and also offers a breakfast buffet

We stayed at the hotel and went for dinner twice here. Every time was disastrous. The service was slow the food very very bad. I ordered the burger the one night and chicken sandwich the other. Both were dry and I could barely eat any of it, the buns separated like they were several days old.

Worst dinner experience from a restaurant ever. Every member of my party meal came out at a different time. Each person ending eating alone because as one meal was completed, the next arrived. No kitchen coordination at all. My meal was suppose to be a hot grilled chicken sandwich. The plate was hot, the bun was warm, the garnish was soggy and the check was cold and dry as if it was a left over from lunch. To top it off, other than to remove the item from the ticket, no attempt to employ any customer service skills at all. And, on top of it, still they wanted to impose a 20% "Suggested Tip". I end up with my meal being served last and after everyone was either done or just about done. Hence, I went without rather than hold everyone up.

Starting off with a pretty horrendous day, we go in to quickly to grab a bite since it was right in our hotel, The Grand Beach Hotel. So we ordered and sat there for a while waiting for food. We started looking around and every table got bread and butter, except us. We called a guy over and asked why we didn't get bread, and he said hold up, the he got another guy. This guy gave us some attitude and we were just wondering why we didn't get bread and stuff like that. He kept pushing at us, so do you want bread then? 'YOU WANT BREAD?' Like no, stop yelling we already ate why are we going to want more bread. Then he goes what do you want from me then? 'You want to kill me?' What attitude are you even giving me. I honestly just found the service and attitude at this restaurant very negative and horrible. This made my last day in Florida even worst. Your customers do not need your sassy attitude, also the food wasn't really hot.

Wasn't expecting much received even less. It took 10 minutes to get my order in and 22 minutes to get two sandwiches. What the hell! We didn't even get any bread where every other table did. Lastly they let people smoke outside. I'm from California and that's not okay. PS why does the water taste like sand?

The food is actually pretty good, and the dessert is too. Just wish the service (slooooowwwww) and prices (sort of leaning ridiculously high) were better. If you're staying here though it's super easy so for that reason maybe worth it :)

We stayed at the Grand Beach Hotel, which was the only reason we ate here. We sat down in the restaurant for lunch, and ordered both dinner and late night room service. The prices seem excessive for the quality, and the service left much to be desired. The lunch experience was terrible. The service was extremely slow, even though they had 5+ servers for 4 tables. The food didn't save the experience, with both of our sandwiches being bland and boring. Room service was better, with ~30 minute delivery. Food quality was better too, although our expectations were very low.

Way over priced even for Miami standards. Food is not good with ridiculous prices. A grilled cheese was $12. Insane!

Not sure what all the negative reviews are about... I had breakfast and lunch here during my stay, and was very happy with both the food and the service. To be fair, I had Lucky Charms and a cappuccino for breakfast, but I did have a bite of everything my SO had from the buffet - pancakes, bacon, a veggie omelette, and bagel w lox - all of it was good. IMO $40/person for the buffet was fine - you're paying for location/convenience as much as anything else. For lunch we had the calamari and beef sliders with a salad - everything was great. Would definitely eat here again.
