I used to visit the first Cantina out on West Bird Rd so I was happy to see this location open. The quality anf taste of the food here is much better than Moe's. Be warned that ordering the nachos as a snack is a mistake as they are massive! I normally get the rice bowls here and occasionally the burritos. What I like is that the burritos here don't fall apart even though they are quite massive. They will press the tortilla from a ball of dough in front of you (and they offer it in white and wheat) and I wonder if this is why the tortillas hold up well. The quesadillas are great but they get soggy if you add pico de gallo to it. I'm taking a star away only due to the service. The food is great and the staff is friendly but I've had orders messed up here before and sometimes it can take awhile to get your food even if there's only a handful of people in front of you.

DISCLAIMER: Star Rating is based on customer service only! I am a HUGE fan of Cantina Grill... But I honestly prefer the Cantina Grill in Country Walk (137 ave SW 152 street) I feel the staff at Country Walk is more friendly and welcoming. I always have some issue here where I am trying to use my yelp check-in offer or their rewards program offer as they go around trying to confirm if its something they truly offer and quite embarrassing when there is a line of hungry people behind you. They should work on ensuring their staff is knowledgeable in all the offers they extend to customers, as this is truly a deterrent. As far as the food goes, it is consistent across all of their restaurants, reasonable prices and delicious and fresh made to order food. They have healthy options too such as whole wheat tortilla. I give their food 5 Stars rating based on every single time I have visited their restaurants.

I come here quite a bit since i work right down the street.. i enjoy it. I like Lime better - but this will do just fine. Checking in with yelp i was offered a free queso, so yesterday when i went, i got that to supplement my three chicken tacos - its SO GOOOOOOOOOD.. but wonthelp me lose any of these additional pounds im currently packing.. lol Tip: The ventilation in the place isnt great so you will walk out of there smelling like food.

Awesome food. I had the fish burrito and it was huge! The guacamole was fresh and tasty. Today was dollar beer night so that was a plus. Everything looked fresh, the place was clean, the staff were efficient. Way better than Chipotle.

For YEARS I drove by their Kendall location not knowing wtf a Cantina Grill is, it wasn't till I received a door hanger coupon/advertisement with a picture of their food that I was able to see its a "Fresh Mex" style restaurant. The best way to describe Cantina Grill is its a Chipotle on steroids. It taste way fresher, they give you way larger portions, and they have WAY more toppings/options than chipotle. They also have a large Salsa/Toppings table with about 6 different salsas for you to load on your burrito, iv personally become addicted to their Mango Salsa to the point that I won't eat any burrito without it! I frequently come to hialeah for work and have been so excited that they opened a location over here. This place is a must try, you won't be dissapointed!

Agree with other reviewer, better than Moe's. Quick, fast, fresh & affordable. Guacamole is excellent. Ground be tacos were filling, quesadilla was huge & chicken soft tacos hit the spot. Glad we stopped by.?

This place seems like a spin off of Chipotle. Decor is nice; like something you would see in Restaurant Start Ups. The staff was friendly and the food was fresh. Place seems clean and the price is reasonable. Will come again.

Great Find! Stopped by after lunch and I was pleasantly surprised. Finally a burrito spot that serves refried beans! The service was fast and very friendly. The place is clean and roomy with a little corner for kids. The menu is small and to the point with delicious ingredients. I had the steak burrito which was delicious and hearty and she had a bowl, also very delicious. The chips are fresh and crunchy which most other places fail to accomplish. I will definitely come back to fill my burrito craving

Returned at the insistence of my son and boy am I glad I did. I hadn't been back in years, partly to due to the prices and a bad experience with a burrito. I have to say..wow what a difference. I had the rice bowl with brown rice(it tastes so fresh) you can't even tell its brown rice, chicken, beans, pico, cheese, and guacamole. I added some guac for a little more $ but totally worth it. So delicious. My son had the burrito and he devoured it. So..I will be back. Good job guys!!

Excellent excellent excellent! A friend of my daughters recommended this place for Mexican food and it was perfect. The make the tortillas write in front of you, so you don't get a old. I had the steak quesadilla and it was the best I have had in a long time. The nachos were so fresh and lite tasting and the cheese dip - perfect!! Will definitely be going back

Cantina Grill is your typical Tex-Mex restaurant that is very comparable to the likes of Chipotle, Moe's, and Lime. The set up is the same, you walk down the line choosing what you want in your burrito/quesadilla/bowl and watch them prepare it for you in a flash. The chips are also tasty and FREE, which I really appreciate. I did find it to be more expensive than Chipotle and Moe's for a meal - about $2 to $3 more - and didn't taste much difference to justify the difference in price. They also give you the smallest water cup they could find, which is also a little inconvenient due to the fact that you need to make several trips to the soda machine throughout your meal. I ordered a quesadilla loaded with goodies and thought it was pretty good. My favorite quesadillas are from Moe's and I didn't think that this held up to what Moe's delivers. All in all it was a decent lunch, not sure if I'll be going back any time soon.

I really like cantina grill. im not trying to be annoying and compare them to the competition but im a huge fan of lime, and this place although not as great, is pretty damn good. ive been several times now and can honestly say the food is always fresh. ive had chicken and steak, and the tacos, burritos and salads and have enjoyed it all. the queso is good and their chips are addicting. the prices are great for delicious quality food (you can make it as healthy as you want). the staff can be a bit slow but they are always nice.

Really good. If you like chipotle, then you have to try the rice bowl here. With the habinero sauce and cilantro sauce its so good! I think I like this place better, has more flavor, a little more expensive than chipotle but worth it.

Love the queso and the food tastes great! I like the healthier options, such as the freshly-made wheat tortilla and brown rice. It's a lot of food for a decent price. The establishment could use some work as compared to its competitors.

Place is great for a quick bite. Not a high end gastro Mexican joint but definitely has a solid burrito and a mean quesadilla. Better than taco bell but not better than lime. Overall not bad for an tex mex on the run

A favorite for me. Fresh ingredients, with a whole wheat tortilla option. Not like most other 'Mexican' food places, chips and salsa bar are included with meal. Food is cooked to order, not drying up all day in a pan.

This place has some legit Mexican food. Modellos were dirt cheap and so was the food. Will visit again.

This Cantina Grill location - Four stars The other Cantina Grill location - Five stars What's the difference between one and the other you ask? Well, at this location the meat is not as seasoned as the other location so my burrito wasn't as worthy to be named "best burrito in miami" as the other locations is. The queso dip was significantly better at this location though. I would still recommend this place to friends because the food is fresh, the place is clean, and i'm sure other items on the menu are better than the burrito I had that day (chicken burrito). I'm still a fan...so try it out if you haven't had the chance. If not, go to their other location which NEVER disappoints.

Tried this place on a friend's recommendation. I told him I was in the mood for Lime Fresh Mexican and he told me this place was even better. He's my boy, but he was wrong. This place was good. Not great. I must say, it is odd to have the items priced not by the type of dish (nachos, burritos, quesadillas, etc.) but by the protein being used (chicken, beer, fish, etc.). Anyway, the meat is cooked to order which is nice. The rest of the ingredients are added on similar to how you would see at Moe's or Lime. Overall, the food was decent. Unfortunately, after a side of queso and a drink, I was looking at over $13 for a burrito, chips, and a drink. I felt that the product did not justify the price. I will likely not return. Though my friend seems to love it.

I love this place. I used to go to chipotle but this place is sooooooo much better and won't make you sick (see my chipotle review for more info). I have ordered every meat and none have let me down. They emphasize fresh and they deliver. I've eaten at all there location and love them all.

Worst experience ever! I ordered their premium steak item only for them to pull out a "subway" style precooked nasty meat concoction and proceed to douse it in the nastiest juice I have ever seen. This is the nastiest place I have ever visited.

Burritos are my favorite food ever so when I heard that this place won best burrito in Miami I knew I had to try it. I was sooo SOOOO disappointed. I swear something was rotten in my burrito actually.... I couldn't even finish it. Literally the worst burrito I have ever. I went around five when it was pretty busy so you would think the ingredients would be fresh, boy was I wrong everything looked like it ad been sitting out from the night before. The lettuce was ever brown in some spots. The guacamole tasted like something out of a jar. Just terrible! Here's a tip: Go to chipotle!

I have eaten at the other Cantina Grill on 152nd. This one is good too...but for some reason the other Cantina's food tasted better to me. I ordered the same thing i always get (chicken burrito and white burrito with white rice, black beans, cheese and toasted) and added the cookies. The burrito tasted good, but a bit different...the cookies, however, were definitely different and they were undercooked. I tried a bite and knew it needed to be baked some more. It was a little too gooey. The chairs on the high top tables were very weak and couldnt hold my 6'3" 200 lb friend. He wanted to sit elsewhere as the chairs were wobbling. Since it was freezing inside, we sat outside and enjoyed the cars speeding by on kendall. The service was good, the food is inexpensive and i feel like you can never go wrong with Cantina Grill....even if it does taste a little different here.

Buddy of mine loves this place so we came to eat on our break. Thier burrito won 2011 miami best so I decided to try it and asked the server to make me one just like the picture . I was impressed with the sheer size of that monster, its huge and named it Walter. I was not impressed with the flavor tho , they have a few sauces to try but I wanted the 2011 winner in its originality . It didn't taste like a winner so I'm woundering if somthing changed. Chips were stale.... still giving it 3 stars because its filling and a good value overall. I hope to be back and have a better experience .

My friends have been raving about this place and I had it on my list of places to try. When I found coupons in The Clipper magainze I decided to give it a shot. I figured at Buy One Get One Free, if we didnt like it, we werent losing much. I've been there 3 times since then. The first time the wait was a little long but I enjoyed my tacos so it was worth it. I wish they had cilantro lime rice but they make up for it in the awesomeness that is the garlic cilantro sauce. Everything is fresh, Your meat is heated up on the grill and if you get a soft taco, burrito, or quesdadilla, the bread its flattened out and cooked right in front of you. The price is also very fair considering that your meal comes with tortilla chips and you have an assortment of salsas to choose from. You have to pay extra for the cheese sauce but its worth it. They also have a $5 chicken burrito deal. That also comes with chips and salsa. Much better and cheaper than a fast food joint! I definitely prefer this place over Moe's and Chipolte.

Love this place. It's awesome for a quick and cheap lunch that fills you up nicely. I get their tacos with ground beef, chicken and steak and the best part is, they make the tortilla fresh right in front of you. Ingredients taste like they're high quality and homemade. This is like a step up from Chipotle and the line is never long, and you get chips with all of the entrees. Totally recommend this place to anyone who enjoys tacos, or even giant burritos.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
