For starters we had the Ocopa(Potatoes lathered in a Aji Amarillo, Huacatay, Peanut based sauce). The sauce was not smooth to the palate, i've had this dish in Arequipa, Peru.. it should be on the silky side. The flavor was lacking as well, i didn't taste any peanut and it was lacking salt and pepper/spice. It was more like a weak tasting Hapchi(another Huacatay based sauce eaten with Potatoes) than an Ocopa. We also had a Pulpo Ceviche(nicely sliced) which was pretty fresh tasting with a good "kick" to it. I had the Parihuela de Mariscos(Aji Panca based soup). It was brought out piping hot(had to wait about 3 minutes to begin downing the soup without discomfort), served in a Cazuela. Soup was full of Mussels, Shrimp, Calamari, Octopus and garnished with a Crawfish(which was quite tasty). It was a giant portion so i only had about a 1/3 of the soup. As far as flavor goes it was lacking a bit in spice but our lovely and attentive waitress gladly brought out an array of hot sauces(Huacatay, Aji Amarillo and Rocotto sauces and fresh Aji Limo) for us to adjust the "heat" level to our liking. The Vegetable Causa was also tasty and well seasoned. It was filled with Zucchini, Peas and fresh red Pepper. I also tried their Huancaina sauce which was creamy and "authentic" tasting. My fam also ordered Chupe de Camaron and Seco de Cordero(didn't try either) which were eaten without complaints. And Arroz con Mariscos(huge portion, could easily feed four) which tasted good, none of the seafood was over/under cooked and the seasoning was just right. Nothing out of this world as far as Peruvian Cusine goes, but would go back to try some of the Chef's Specials.. like the Huancaina Risotto with Octopus.

Last time we came, was pretty much as Close as you could get to Peruvian Food outside of Peru. Today it appears ( under new management ) , horrible, food, service takes for ever and the Tacu Tacu, o my God! it tasted like plastic. Sorry guys but plainly bad.

The service was good, prompt, and courteous. The food was good. The drinks were excellent. I had the skirt steak which was well done.

Treated my sister, Kimberly, out to dinner before she headed back to ATL. She had never had Peruvian food before so I thought let's go here and I had never been to this particular Peruvian restaurant. It's exactly where Amicci's use to be, same layout and everything so that was kind of trippy hah. I ordered my "first timer" go-to: seafood Jalea and Lomo Saltado for us to share. and a Inca Kola for myself :D The Jalea was SO good here. It was a huge platter, I felt like we could share it amongst 3 or 4 people even. My favorite bits are the chunky fish pieces and they were so succulent! The Lomo Saltado was cooked really well too. Some of the beef pieces were a little chewy but for the most part, it was really well done and the juices seeped out of the meat every time you took a bite. That's why I love Peruvian, I love their uses of spices and taste. Kimberly really, really enjoyed the food here so that's a good thing.. for them! haha. I still would choose La Perla as my personal favorite Peruvian but that's me being biased! BUT, if I were in the Hammocks area and was craving a Lomo Saltado I would definitely come back here. They do a pretty decent job.

Sorry to say my experience here was less than satisfactory. The food wasn't the delicious Peruvian cuisine I was expecting. I tried the chicken causa rellena...don't. And the ceviche was really salty.

A blissful treat for your taste buds. Enormous amounts of well-crafted dishes that, by far, uphold what Peruvian cuisine art

I come here about once a month and we love it every time. We typically start off with a ceviche and end with either a fish or a plate of lomo saltado with tacu tacu. The food is delicious, however the service not so much. It really depends on who you get, but there is a lady who seems to always be "too busy". She never checks on you; we have to look for her to get another glass of wine or even order another entree. Aside from her horrible service, the place is definitely worth a visit. I give it 3 stars because of the service...

The food was spectacular, I had the Jalea Mixta and it was served hot and fresh, the sangria was great and the server was friendly and attentive to our needs. What can I say, it was a great experiance. I highly recommend it to my friends.

We had order Causa vegetarian...it looked really good but when we ate it the causa was extremely salty we called back to let know... bad customer service... lost me as a costumer....

Great service, everyone is super friendly, food is delish...only issue was with the jalea plate that seemed small for 2 people to share, we have had much more for less price.

Salty! Everything we order had to much salt from the Causa, Tacu Tacu con Lomo and Chaufa de Carne.

We decided to try this place because our intended destination was closing. Big mistake. The service here was downright awful! It was approximately 10pm on a Friday night and it wasn't busy. In fact, there were only 3 parties there for the duration of our meal, so there wasn't really any excuse for the bad service. They didn't appeared short staffed either as when I entered, I saw several employees standing around the bar chatting and laughing loudly. This loud chatter continued throughout our meal while we were being ignored. Worse, the bad service continued after we asked the server what was going on. First, it took forever to order, then the appetizer we ordered was forgotten, water refills weren't brought until the 3rd request, and the kitchen was extremely slow. The only positive thing I can say is that the food (that we did receive) was good. I ordered the Tallarín Verde with a Churrasco Steak. The portion was huge and tasty. Despite that, I won't be back! It will be surprising if this place is around in 6 months!

I'm a huge fan of this place and it's many locations. Their food is good and it's always consistent. We also get the fish ceviche (spicy), along with the Lomo Saltaldo or the Chauffa, or the Chicken Aji...I may be spelling some of this incorrectly, but you'll get the gist of it. The service is always good and the Hammocks location usually tends to be less packed so we try to go this location versus their others that may have long wait times. Their sangria is delicious and always comes out steaming...literally, they put something in the drink to make it bubble and steam...it's so cool like something out of a movie. You must try it. Even the little pieces of bread that they bring out for the table includes a yellow and/or green kind of spicy creamy sauce and OMG it is amaze-balls (if you like spicy). If it's your Birthday, then get ready for a treat. Their staff all gather to sing their version of happy birthday with a percussion/drum and it's destined to make you get up and shake your booty. They also deliver to my house which is another plus...however, they always seem to get lost and their delivery drivers don't speak English and I've had hard times communicating with them to give them driving directions...All in all I really like this place and will continue coming back for my CEVICHE. Yummm.

Oh Peruvian food...how I love thee After hours of the besties and I debating on what to eat for what seemed like hours and a beer we decided to go to the closest plaza to us...low and behold Aromas was right next to us. Cute place, alot of people..good sign. The day was beautiful so we decided to eat outside. Service was excellent and staff was so attentive. Never had to ask for any refills and our waitor always had a smile on his face. First off they brought over this deliciousness of I believe there called mariquitas (give me a break im trying here) or whatever you call long fried thin plantains and corn nuts perfectly salted and with this incredible yellowish spicy sauce. Now im a sauce person and I especially LOVE spicy...I was in heaven. Ive been to peruvian places and never had this sauce before. I was so happy..I couldn't get enough. Needless to say we ordered another round. Good move. Taste buds danced. For my main dish I had the lomo saltado, steak with sauteed onions with fries and rice and again another freaking delicious sauce. They seriously need to think about bottling that sauce and selling it. I'd be there first customer. It was tasty, filling and my taste buds only wanted more. I will definitely come back here at least twice a month....if not more. I gave 5 stars because parking was easy, service was fast, friendly, and staff very attentive and of course the food was just full of flavor. Job well done guys!!!!!!

Came here on a Groupon. They are super welcoming to Groupon clients. Left both of the plates I order clean. Loved it.

I was having a terrible ceviche craving near closing time for restaurants and the nearest Peruvian restaurant near me was this! It's a cute small dining area. Lots of small tables but they'll put together tables for large groups. It was also a full house when I went in at 9:30pm. The only thing I know I wanted was the pescado ceviche, the entire menu was in Spanish so my boyfriend ordered the rest for us. We had Papa a la Huancaina, Steak Chaufa Rice, and Cebiche de Pescado. They start you off with a basket of fresh tiny baguettes and serve water in a cute little wine glass. Once the server brought us water and bread, it took him 10 minutes to return to us. The server asked for our appetizer, which was the pescado Cebiche. We waited 15 minutes until it arrived. At first, it looked like a SMALL amount. But then I realiZed the dish was DEEP, so there was actually a LOT. the chef cut BIG chunks of fish too, very much worth the price, especially since it tasted excellent. It also came garnished with a little sweet potato that was surprisingly topped with a delicious sweet sugar cinnamony glaze. The papa huancaina arrived immediately, which is a steamed potatoe with some sort of unique cheese fondue topped over it. It also tasted amazing! Don't pack it as a leftover though, it doesn't taste the same the day after! Our steak Chaufa, aka steak fried rice, took a while to arrive... But we didn't notice much since we had the appetizers going down our tummies. Personally, there was too much soy sauce for my taste, but I guess that's how Peruvians do it, so not bad. The food overall was just fantastic. The best part of leftover ceviche!! The service took longer than I would've preferred, but there's no denying why I've heard good about their food.

Disappoinment is all i can say. It is a small restaurant i waited to be seated for more than 30 mins, they did have tables available. The food is good but the service is the worst.

  • Paola G.

The one at the hammocks sucks! I was very disappointed of the quality of the food and the service. They took forever to serve our food. They served my husband and I first and made my three year old son wait 20 more minutes for his food. We won't be back.

Kendall drive and Hammocks locations; I've been to both, and both were disappointing. Kendall drive location served up a shrimp ceviche made with FROZEN shrimp; it was evident and awful. I decided to try the Hammocks location because it looked so inviting. Hammocks location served up an $18 grilled octopus appetizer that could have hurt someone had I bounced it off my plate; it was so rubbery. Neither place has a great number of reviews. This is a telling tale in my view. This organization is like a ship without a rudder. It's mediocre at best. Not worth the visit, time, or your money. The crowds I see at these places seem mediocre at best. You have better choices for Peruvian food in the area; Dr. Limón behind El Dorado Furniture on 88th, same strip mall as Aromas del Perú on 88th. You also have El Chamán on Bird & 142nd Ave. These are much better choices for Peruvian. Try it and you'll see. Now Aromas a la Braza, their Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken place in the same Hammocks Shopping Center, is a different story! Yelp it!

Aromas De El Peru was a fantastic experience!!! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was superb! Thank you Mario! (our server). After a strenuous workout, the wife and I decided to go for some yummy food! Of course Peruvian food is always a good choice when it comes to Spanish cuisine. I had the Mariscos Salteados and they were fantastic! The food was fresh, well seasoned and on time! I was very satisfied with their overall service. The restaurant's ambience is very casual and it is great for a dinner night or to grab a nice bite. A great place to frequent for some yummy food!

Went tonight with some friends. We had tried the kendall drive location but then we found out about this one and decided to give it a try since it looked really nice. The waitress was very nice and every Time our cups were empty we would get water, I know it seems weird but that says something about a restaurant and about how much they care about customers. The food was really good. The only complain we had was that it took forever for us to get it. Other than that, it was great.

I was craving Peruvian food for Valentines dinner. Rather than venturing out, I decided to keep it local. So I used my friendly yelp app and came across Aromas De Peru. Got there early enough so that there wasn't a wait (7:00pm). Sat down and immediately water and soft bread was served. The back round music choice was surprisingly some Lionel Richie and Paul Davis, I go crazy. I thought odd for a Peruvian restaurant but I did enjoy it. Rather romantic id say. The food was amazing. To start we had the ceviche. It was super fresh and full of flavor. The Cilantro really stood out and oh how I love cilantro. We decided to share the Jalea Del Mar which was amazing! The shareable portion is enough to feed at least 3. It was huge. My husband ordered the Sopa criollo and couldn't even finish it. Portions are very generous so consider sharing. For dessert we had the Quattro leches (four milks) and it was phenomenal. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because our water glasses were not being refilled. The meals are abundant in salt and flavor and having water constantly poured would of been a plus. I did have the house Sauvignon Blanc, but I did find myself very thirsty borderline parched. I am eager to return very soon to try other menu items. The service was great, the food was delicious and the location is easy. There is also a great kids menu and the place is kid friendly.

The service was very slow at the beginning. I was sitting at my table for a good 10minutes before they attended my table. After the service started they were better. Prices are in, a bit pricey compared to other Peruvian places but the food was delish.

******Referring to location on kendall and 137****I have had dinner here a couple of times. (1 at restaurant / 1 take out). Food is greasy and almost feels like they cook in large quantities. Doesn't have much of a "gourmet feel" to me, which I think works well with this type of food. In the same shopping center, you can find "dr limon". I recommend this restaurant instead. Same price range, and food quality and presentation is better (in my opinion). Service has been good and place is clean. No complaints in that department.

The ceviche was sooooo good! Chupe de camarones was great too. Server was nice and attentive. Will definitely come back!

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the delivery fee is pretty steep. 6$. Now onto the food. What I ordered was amazing. The meal merits 5 stars. I had the pollo saltado. A lot of food for 13$. The lady that picked up the phone was very helpful. I told her I was new to Miami and didn't know much about Spanish/Peruvian food. I asked for something with lime/cilantro and she recommended the dish. Wow. So good. Very flavorful. Sorry if my review is a little all over the place, but I'm still in the middle of eating this dish and it's got me on cloud 9. I will definitely be ordering from here again.

The owner has to invest in high speed internet. 3 rd time here and it's always the same delay taking the order and charging the guest. Food is good and service is fair.

I went for my dad's birthday and it's a pretty nice place. I had the Jalea Mixta, which tasted great. Really fresh. The service was good, our server checked in on us often. My only complaint is that the restaurant is a little small, it can get crowded. But overall, it was a good experience.

Came here for lunch...if you have the time for a lazy lunch this is the place for you. If you only have an hour...forget it! I started off choros a la chalaca. It's mussles topped with red onions, corn, herbs and lime juice. I have to say that this dish was soooo sour my mouth was puckered for about 30 minutes. I then followed that with ceviche de pescado. That was a bit better although I did not care for the presentation. It was in a soup bowl...and filled with the lime juice. The service was slow...We sat in a corner and we it would take forever to get our glasses filled. For lunch they only have two specials and it changes daily so you never know what it is until you get there. The rest of the menu is too pricey for lunch.

I am big fan of peruvian food. I have been eating in this chain of franchises for over 4 years. I just had early dinner at this location and the Lomo saltado was exquisite and tasty. My son had the churrasco a lo pobre which was well prepared and enough for 2. The only dish that wasn't good was the anticucho that was on the dry side, perhaps overcooked. The ambiance was excellent and also I like it that restaurant doesn't smell like food.

We had a great dinner here. Everything from the food to the service was excellent! We enjoyed Jalea Mixto and Lomo Salteado - accompanied with some delicious sangria. The portions were huge and definitely big enough to share. It was an A+ all around for us! Keep up the good work Aromas del Peru :)

First impression is a 10! Greeted immediately friendly faces fast and courteous service. Very nice decor seems clean. Went out of the norm and had the Seco De Res, which was disappointing. It was dry and had no real cilantro taste, the plate was overwhelmed with beans. My broad had the tacu tacu with Churrasco which she enjoyed. I probably will return but next time I will stick to the Lomo Saltado.

We recently celebrated my grandmas birthday at Aromas Del Peru. I like the decor, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the Peruvian food. The food was incredible good I fell like I was eating in Peru. Prices are very reasonable, clean easy to find, easy to park and very spacious on the inside of the restaurant. Love this place..!

Bad service, once the host sat us at the table, they forget about us. We had to call someone's attention. The girl that was not suppose to tend to our table came over and took good care of us but the damage was done. The grilled chicken that my husband ordered tasted like cardboard. Food wasn't what was expected .

I have never had anything I don't like here, the ceviche is superb, but if you are not a raw fish fan you have a huge menu of delicious items to choose from.

Personally, I love this location because it is close to my house, the food is AWESOME and service is good. Sangria is a must try - the white one. Sooooo good!!

Today I went with my husband and truly and had always love this place and all their locations . But today if was an off day With us ! we order chicharron the pollo as an appetizer which comes with red onions.. They brought us what looked like a kids chicken tender meal with fries ... What?!? I asked and the server told me that at that location it comes like that and the onions only come with the fish?!? What ?!? it's clearly in the menu?!! I sent the dish out and she brought it back without the fries the same amount of chicken but with a side of onion..I expected more chicken...But my onions had a hair on it and honestly the hair could happen but they need to be very careful! The manager did approach the table and asked and I mentioned about the hair but forgot to mention about the chicharron the pollo which it actually bother me more Not sure if I'll go back to this location... Im giving it 2 starts since Our main dishes were good, ceviche mixto lomo saltado and picarones!

I came here with my mom for dinner around 5:45 -6pm. the place was not full. we were seated right away. service was great. We ordered the Anticuchos (beef heart) which were great (not chewy at all), had the ceviche mixto which was also great for appetizers. my mom ordered the filete de pescado a la plancha (grilled fish fillet) served with white rice, she enjoyed it, i had some is it was good. I had the Aji de gallina (shredded chicken in a creamy yellow chili sauce) served with white rice also very good. I've tried may Peruvian restaurant and this one is a keeper. excellent food and service. I think prices are very reasonable. this one outshines the one on kendall and 137ave.
