Andy's Seafood provides fresh-caught seafood in Matlacha, Florida. Andy's specializes in high-quality, fresh-caught, local fish. One evening we had stone crab claws and shrimp, another night hogfish. The crab was, without any exaggeration, the best crab I have ever had. The hogfish was fresh, supple, and had exceedingly true flavor. Additionally, Andy's staff are very knowledgeable (knowing good recipes for all the seafood they sell), helpful, and friendly. They do a pretty good job of cleaning and de-boning fish. Andy's is pretty easy to find on the main drag in Matlacha. They're right near the drawbridge. If you're a local or a tourist with kitchen access, I strongly recommend getting your seafood from Andy's. This place is great.

Exceptional seafood earns Andy's four big stars!! We ate lunch here today n had a mellow time at the tables inside-- three available. Who knew the pino Grigio wine in the cooler was so yummy??! Excellent seafood prep by the chef who wears wellies and a generous smile. Earnest waterside seafood stop. Rein in your desire for glamour w ordering done at counter n food delivered hot n fresh to table. Browse the spices n enjoy reading local papers while the food is being prepared. Generally a large salad w huge portion of blackened fish n a roll will run 15$ and similar for grouper sandwich cole slaw n chips. Buy some fresh fish to go could find golden tile, triple tail, stone crab oysters scallops squid smoked fish dip n hey for a buck a pound... Frozen fish heads the size of Rhode Island can be popped in water n awesome broth made to poach your bounty or base for yur homemade chowders. I picked one up n can't wait to get my chowder fixings in the broth. It's a casual place but no Tvs and good to eat meals lend this place a honored spot for healthy eating when I don't want more than great food.

Best grouper sandwich I have had in my seven years living in SW Florida. My wife said the same about her crab cakes. Get a pound of shrimp for an appetizer. To eat well expect to pay about $25 per person. Well worth it.

Andy's is clean and the staff friendly. We had the grouper sandwich and grouper salad. Grouper was good. However portions are small and it's a bit overpriced. Chips and coleslaw were the side. Should have fries or something better for a side. It's worth a try if you are ok with prices. We won't return because of the prices.

Very clean, the woman helping me went above and beyond to answer my questions and give me good advice/tips about cooking my seafood. Reasonable prices for beautiful fresh seafood. They have a large selection of seasonings and spices, even premade dips, crackers. Wish I had found this place earlier in my vacation, would've definitely gone back.

This is an adorable restaurant right on the water. The owner is very sweet and caring. His daughter is a cutie pie. The food is great and fresh. For oldies who came to this restaurant when they first opened: they have new staff, their food is made very well, and the service is much more attentive. I didn't have the best experience when I tried the restaurant for the first time, about a year ago. I'm happy to say that the restaurant is a lot better now. It takes a little bit of time to get something great going. For doing it within two years, I'm impressed. I recommend the oyster poboy, it's my favorite. I also love the lobster roll. So good! It is kind of expensive. I think it's worth it though. I have to compliment the steel drum performer as well. He was so good and it was perfect music for the area, during dinner. His music set the mood for a very enjoyable dinner. A+!!!

Island seafood market served us the best fish sandwich in Matlacha; we had fresh snapper, with blacking seasoning, and it was fantastic! The portion was huge, and it was very fresh. As we ate, we watched as they unloaded shrimp from their boat, so we bought some to take home to eat later. Everyone was very friendly and proud of their business; they even took us back to the freezer to show us the nearly 100 lb.+ grouper they had just caught. This is a fun place to eat very fresh seafood, and a great place to experience what fish southwest Florida waters have to offer. We will definitely be back!

This place deserves to have a line out the door!! The menu is fresh catch of the day, cooked expertly, and everything down to the tartar sauce is made in house. I had the crab cake sandwich - exceptional. I also tried a peel-and-eat shrimp (homemade cocktail sauce!) and some smoked salmon (the only thing that's not local). The coleslaw had some kind of citrus thing going on - it is the holy grail of coleslaw. The staff were super sweet and the atmosphere is colorful yet functional. No frills, you're there for the food, not to look at beach tchotchkes. Picnic tables outside and canned beverages round out the offerings. We tried out a lot of restaurants on this trip to SW Florida, this was truly a highlight.

I have wanted to visit Matlacha Fl. for about two years. It is kind of what the Florida Keys were in the 60's. So there is the set up for me getting to Andy's. Pulled out my trusty Yelp app and found this to be a solid 4 star place with some really funny comments and reviews. It is first a seafood company and a restaurant is a distant second. Inside there are two 4 people tables outside there are more tables and they will put up an umbrella for you to enhance your dining experience. Mrs. K. and I scored the last table that was not being used by the local ranger as his office. He had his computer and printer out working away. Interesting use of a table I might add. All the fish and seafood you see in the case is what they will prepare for you. I first ordered 1/2 pound of peel and eat shrimp, then 4 medium stone crab claws to be friendly Mrs. K. and I also ordered the baked crispy Grouper sandwich. The shrimp were as fresh as you could get. They prepared them in Old Bay seasoning. Peel and eat shrimp take a while to peel then eat. LOL!! We ate away then they brought out the 4 medium stone crab claws. The stone crabs where again fresh and very tasty. You get about 4 ounces of crab meat out of 4 crab claws and they are not inexpensive. I have posted a picture of the Grouper sandwich so you can see that somewhere under the fish is a bun. It was a monster. And really at $14.95 was a great deal. I think it was an average at best tasting sandwich but cannot top the freshness of the fish. The whole dining cost $54.00 for the two of us. And that is one pricy lunch but I would so go back and do it again. Where else can you get all this fresh food made to order? Just here. My friends

Friendly and knowledgable staff with high quality product. Had the stone crab and grouper chowder, local fresh shrimp were outstanding. Grouper sandwich was very fresh and baked in panko, nice touch. Few tables inside and some outside by the water with relaxing view. Looking for a good lunch spot while visiting the island, find this place.

I couldn't post a picture because I ate it so fast. The crab cake sandwich was the best I've ever had!!! So flavorful and right out of the oven!!! I HIGHLY recommend!!

Great food, drinks and atmosphere, we had broasted chicken and the cod basket, loved them both, ice cold rolling rocks, and frozen marguerites, friendly customers, it's like I'm in California, with beautiful martlacha view

They don't make 'em like this in Ohio! Was neither hungry nor in the market for seafood, but poked my head in anyhow. Was blown away by the freshness. I couldn't resist walking out of there with a pound of grouper cheeks and some oysters. I didn't even realize we could eat there. Will definitely be back next time we're in town.

The best fish sandwich around, period. Oh, and the crab cakes too ! Since Andy and (apparently) his family took over an already very good fish joint about a year ago, things have only gotten better ! Mainly in the service department- they are super nice and friendly and the wait times have reduced. This is a no-frills fish monger and cafe- paper plates, plastic cutlery, Frito Lay's chips, etc. But all of that can be forgiven because they have the freshest and tastiest fish you will find ! And did I mention the crab cakes (made with 100% crab meat) ! With a few understandable exceptions (salmon, tuna, etc) the fish you'll be eating was actually still swimming earlier that day waiting to become your lunch. Andy and crew have 2 boats and go out fishing daily. They'll cook your fish to order anyway you want- as long as it's baked. But have it your way- crispy (in Panko breading) or Blackened, the former being my preference. Their tartar sauce is very good and apparently homemade too. Or you can just bring fillets or whole fish back home for your meal. I only wish they provided environmental information and sustainability index for various species they fish and sell (yes, I'm a conscious consumer!)

All right, disclosure. I do not eat anthing from the sea. Yes...that includes fish, oysters, shell fish etc. However, this little joint gets four stars in my book, since they were so generous in offering various free seafood appetizers to our table. Location is also hard to beat, with great views of the water from the patio outside. For those don't eat seafood, try their blackened chicken, is a nice alternative and comes with a vinegar based cole slaw and a bag of chips. For those that love seafood, I can only report that eveyone of the party of 8 that I went with, loved their seafood----especially the seafood bisque and grouper sandwiches.

We looked at the menu online and decided to give it a try. We asked for the shrimp salad, and Brian asked where we saw it. When we explained, he gladly made us some shrimp salad on the fly and it was SO GOOD!! Huge portion on a Cuban roll. Also tried some amazing chowder and bought some smoked salmon spread for home. The best spread I found on Matlacha. It's expensive...$74 for everything...probably a little over-priced for the area, but it truly was delicious. About Brian: The nicest guy ever, who even helped my husband with some fishing! I would go just to visit him.

Recommended to us by some locals, we came to check out the fresh catches at Andy's today. Weather was too rough for stone crab, but we had an increadible feast of steamed clams and shrimp xaught this morning!! The shrimp snapped with each bite and the homemade garlic-butter sauce and cocktail sauce were great!! Clams were tasty and fun! The staff couldn't have been more joyful, accommodating and helpful!!! This place is definately a favorite for locals (as traffic NEVER stopped to pick up orders, specialty orders and new purchases for their thanksgiving meals).

Had lunch there today and we enjoyed it. I had a lightly blackened black grouper sandwich and my wife had the crab cake sandwich. Both were served on a nice bun with lettuce, sweet onion and tomato with a bag of potato chips. We liked the oil based cole slaw and the tarter sauce was excellent. It tasted homemade. The grouper was fantastic. It was super fresh tasting and seasoned and cooked perfectly. The crab cake was good but not excellent. My wife said that next time she would order the fish. I must admit that we are very picky about crab as we spend our summers on the Maine coast and are used to super fresh crab. With a cola and a shock top ale, the bill came to just under $40 for a "take out" style lunch. As others have noted, that is rather expensive but we feel it was worth it.

Andy's has slowly but surely become our favorite on Pine Island for both fresh seafood and a quick, informal lunch. I used to think they were a bit pricier than other places, but the quality makes up for the slightly higher price. The staff is very friendly. I've had them take me to the store room to take pictures of the fresh catch, and they always have nice treats for our daughter. If you have never had triple tail, you have to try it (but please leave me some!).

Went to the this place for lunch and also ended up taking home some yellow tail snapper. This isn't a huge seafood market if that's what you're looking for but they do have a small selection to choose from.

My husband bought me a $100.00 gift certificate to Andy's Island Seafood for Christmas. We didn't get to use it on our last trip down (semi snowbirds) and we knew Andy sold so we went in this week and the new owner would not honor it. We lost $100 but the new owner lost much more as we WERE good and loyal customers. The new owner should have, at least, offered us a percentage of that $100. We won't step foot in Island Seafood again. (Beware when you purchase gift certificates!)

Amazingly fresh fish and seafood. Be sure to try the chowder, might be the best I've ever had!!

We swung by for a late lunch. Tiny little place-it's a seafood market and they have a few tables for patrons to eat. I ordered the panko chicken sandwich; the husband ordered the grouper. Nothing is fried,so it was NICE having a grease-free meal! Good food, staff was really friendly and attentive. We did want to come back to pick up some clams, but never got around to it-next trip!

Best Crab Cakes on Sanibel. We stopped at the Sanibel Farmer's Market on Sunday morning. Picked up crab cakes for dinner that night from Andy's. They kept them cold for us while we got some new potatoes, tomatoes, corn on the cob, etc... We cooked them that night and they were delicious. These really are crab cakes with big chunks of crab, not breadcrumbs and mayo with some crab in them, We followed the instructions that came with them (you can bake or pan fry them). My only suggestion would be to brush them lightly with olive oil or butter about half way through baking them so they brown a bit more. Even at $10 per cake, they were totally worth it.

Andy's is the nicest seafood market to be found around this part of the SWFL coast. They know how to find, clean, store, and sell top quality product. Andy has retired and his nephews are there keeping up the good name Andy earned. Best of all, Kathy is there still. She knows what the customer appreciates!

One of the best (freshest) grouper sandwiches I have ever had and the woman working the counter was absolutely fantastic.
