Waffle Iron Menu

Was traveling through Marianna and wanted a 'real' restaurant/diner to eat at... This was the REAL thing! Home cooked biscuits, delicious hash browns with sauted tomato, and a delicious sausage (not to mention good eggs and coffee... and I'm a bit of a coffee snob.) We would recommend to anyone who, like us, is sick of 'chain' eating and also supports locally owned and run businesses. You can't go wrong, we think! (Also had T-bone and fried catfish on the menu, but we were there for breakfast. Would go back to try if we to through at lunch or dinner time. )

Local hang out. A level below Waffle House. Eggs and hashbrowns were good. Bacon was paper thin. Grits were very lumpy and cold. Toast was dry and over toasted. Coffee was just weak. It was a good blend of beans, just way too low a ratio of grounds to water in the drip machine. The average Waffle House would have been better.

Egg was undercooked hash browns were lack luster. Waffle was good. Sweet tea was way to sweet. Friendly but honestly would recommend taking your chances somewhere else. They take no pride in Their craft. Just enough to get by. Super unimpressed.

Not bad. Quick breakfast, reasonable service. I ordered three eggs with bacon and sausage. The hashbrowns were decent; the could've been cooked more, but I should've ordered them that way. I was traveling through and this was the only breakfast place that came up on Yelp. I was reasonably pleased.

We stopped at a referral from the cavern campground ranger. It was a neat little place with yellow tennis balls on all the chairs. Whimsical and functional. We were tired of chain resturants. This was open on a Sunday and we thought it would be a good experience. Sadly the food comes in small portions and overpriced. The summer salad was different but good, but short on lettuce. French toast, almost $7 it was good, but overpriced. The pancakes were small. I really would have wished it would have been better. I prefer to enjoy and support locals when we visit a new town.

We were visiting Marianna and were looking for a local restaurant. The Waffle Iron got good reviews and had been around forever, so we thought we would give it a try. Unfortunately, the minute we entered the restaurant I began to worry about the quality of the food and my health based on the condition of the restaurant. It was run down and the paint peeling off of the walls in the kitchen wasn't appetizing. I decided this could be one of those great dives that survives on great food. However when my food arrived I was shocked. ALL of the plastic plates we were served on were cracked completely through with big gaps in the cracks or large chips out of the plates. These cracks and gaps in the plates were grey and green and were filled with years of old food particles. I thought that if we could get out of this place without food poisioning we would be lucky. The food was OK, but we only had eggs, toast, bacon and waffles. Hard to mess that up. Sure enough, about five hours later my stomach was in knots and I got ill. I am really surprised the health department hasn't done anything about the dishes...at a minimum.

Horrible. Everything was flavorless and I watched the cook grab my waffle barehanded-- the corner he touched tasted like cigarettes. The glass of milk was defrosted and tasted like it had some chemical taste. The service was nothing special and she was out of half the things we asked for. At first glance this looks like homecookin' "real" food, but it's gone way downhill (if it was ever good in the first place). P.S. the coffee tasted like piss.

Customer service was excellent; food was nothing special and pricey. I expected more flavor from a place that has the grill right in front where you can see them making your food. They open at 6am went at 10am and they were out of biscuits. If you are in the area and want breakfast other than Waffle House then go here. Had grits, pancakes, over-easy eggs, and trash plate hash browns.

We had a fantastic breakfast here and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. My husband and I had eggs, bacon, and biscuits while my preschooler had the best pancake I've ever tasted. The service was outstanding. Everyone there was so polite, and the lady who waited on us was extremely attentive. Next time I'll have to try the waffles.
