Had early dinner oct. 7 was very much surprised that this was Chinese restaurant with West Indian / Carabean owners. The food was very good and authentic Asian flavors. They also have a full island menu. Either way you go you'll have good food good portions but no frills.

Service was bad. Food was Ok.. not that much flavor and the fish gave my friend te bubble guts -_-. I love Carribean food and chinese and this place lacked in flavor and in service in both areas!

West Indian Chinese food. LOVE this concept. This place needs to fix up their interior, and they are golden. - Jerk Buffalo Wings - Chinese Beef and broccoli

A colleague from Guyana recommended this place saying they consider Lucky City to be authentic and very flavorful. So then off we went. If Lucky City had the charm, location, the sweet personality of Bamboo Fire - also throw in some flexibility and decent interiors, it would hands down be the best place to eat some authentic Caribbean-Guyanese food at least in this part of Florida. They are family owned and the husband and wife that run the place are very friendly and always share good humor. Inside it is quite huge, so its also good for large parties and unlike other Caribbean restaurants you are not forced to take-out due to scarcity of space. Not fancy, but has a vintage feel to it. For me, they are the best Roti place so far. However, just their food and the authentic food options available make it a wholesome Caribbean place. The menu is not just limited to Curries and Jerk dishes but has some exclusive items like Bygan Chokha (Eggplant dish), Festivals, Tomato Chokha, Roti, Poulourie, Bara, Aloo balls, Saheen. Also, because of the influence of Chinese culture in the Caribbean due to migration back in the days, the Caribbean food is said to have a mix of Chinese food as well. So, if you don't like the Caribbean options, they have an equally huge Chinese food menu as well. Another feather in the hat is the wide range of vegetarian options they have on both: the Guyanese and Chinese food items, makes its a pretty formidable choice when in mood to explore. The Sunday brunch is a treat. They pick some of the best items from the menu and lay out a buffet. Eat as much as you want!!! The price are reasonable definitely worth the food. I have been here several times and no matter how the entire experience may have turned out to be but the food has never been short on taste, flavor, and freshness. The appetizers are just yumm! The Aloo Pie and Doubles are really well done. The tamarind chutney that comes with the Apps is probably the best I've eaten at a restaurant. Even the Indian restaurants don't come close. Its fresh and made from fresh tamarind not out of concentrate. Full marks there. Since the menu is so huge it can be exhausting and may end up confusing some because they will be spoilt for choice. Since I am not a big fan of Chinese food, I've not eaten anything apart from the Vegetable Fried Rice from the Chinese menu. The gold is in the Caribbean menu. The Roti that they make is huge, fresh, and hot. Its made fresh upon order. Its also soft and silky to an extent. Just amazing. The Jerk Chicken is again the best that I have had so far. Sad to say that it beats the local kingpin RockSteady in that. In fact, most of the people I've been with to Lucky City have said they liked Lucky city more than any other place. They Curry Chicken, Curry Goat, Bygan Chokha, Tomato Chokha have been fantastic. No matter what I've eaten, its been very flavorful. So why 4 stars when they have such awesome food? The reason is that they take pride in the food they make, almost to the extent of arrogance. There is some inflexibility in the way do things. Getting something customized is sometimes met with a little resistance. The interiors are fine but if you come with a part of 6-8 it gets a little inconvenient. you might have to sit on different tables. The service is good but can get lackluster sometimes, making to wait for long time as they usually have limited serving staff. Only after my second visit did I notice that we'd overcharged both the times. Then I found out that I wasn't the only one. A few others have mentioned that too. On my visits thereafter, I sorted that out with the owner there. They rectified it. Another minus is that they close pretty early. By 8.45 pm they have already closed kitchen. So if going "late", do call first or you will be disappointed. Overall, its the best to munch on some of the most authentic and flavorful Guyanese food out there with lots to choose from and a huge bonus for fans Chinese food. Can't wait to go back!!

I got overcharged here! Watch your bill! The person who recommended us said that they also overcharged her last time as well... so be careful! (Although it might just be just bad luck. Stewed chicken and curry chicken for the brunch buffet... Tomato and eggplant dishes as well. We had a guest that couldn't eat any level of spiciness at all because he has a history of a bleeding gastric ulcer so he hasn't eaten any peppers in a very very long time and was unable to eat anything there!! But they were nice enough to make him some fried rice and lo mein which he just ended up ordering to-go since by that time, most of us were already done. The meal was a tad pricey for what you get, but it was decent food. Prices (For Sunday's Brunch Buffet): $10 per person cash. $11 per person credit card

It's not too far a drive from my workplace and I've been interested in what Caribbean Chinese food is all about. I went here and got the C2 Lunch Special, which is fried rice (egg, peas, onions) with slices of "char siu" pork and "Chinese Chicken" (aka paper fried chicken for Chinese folks). Both had some brown glaze sauce which was unfortunately watery. Both meats weren't quite like their authentic Chinese counterparts but still tasty nonetheless. I'll go back one day and dine in.

Pros: none Cons: 1. Cold food, taken from refridgerator. 2. Extremely poor service, jail like treatment. 3. Jail food may be more taste, extremely salty. Before you go here, remember I warned you.

Really good food. Had the Mongolian beef which was tender along with the vegetables that came with it. Also had the Honey Garlic chicken which was great. Fair prices, and they also have a Caribbean and West Indian menu which from this experience will now be making a trip to try more items.

Very tasty food! The best fried rice and chow mein. They also offer a delicious homemade hot sauce. We often order to go because they haven't developed a system for their customers who eat in. No waitresses assigned to certain tables and you wait a while for ur drinks or whatever else you ask for. But truly yummy food!

Food tasted like old reheated leftovers. Roti was limp and state. Wings cold. Ox tail meatless. Lamb curry was OK.

The food is fantastic! Authentic Caribbean/West Indian cuisine. The food is flavorful and always cooked to perfection. It's a little out of my way, but it is always worth the drive!

This place is a joke. If you can see the store sign from the outside, you're too close. Run away. Food is mediocre. Service is non-existant. Place stinks.

I was craving Caribbean food but I didn't want to drive far to get. Lucky City was the closest place. I really wished I wasn't being lazy, because this was by far the worst food I've ever had!!! The place looks really run down and dark, but I don't really judge restaurants by the way they look, so I decided to order away anyway. I ordered the whole red snapper with white rice. Rice was horrible. How do you mess up white rice? The fish had no flavor and it tasted like something they caught and they let it sit out all day. It was like they just decided to cook it since I was probably their last customer of the day. I know it was close to closing time, but if you know the food is old and not up to your standards, why serve it to the public? This was my first and last time eating there. If they are willing to serve bad food to people, that tells me they don't really care about their brand.

First time and satisfied. I ordered the goat curry it was tender and flavorful. Service was fast and friendly. Place is clean and spacious. I got the doubles to go and they're so delicious I didn't wanna stop eating . I definitely recommend this place for some authentic Caribbean food.

I would give this place 5 stars if their service and decor matched their flavorful, amazing, authentic food. We were there on a Friday night at 5:30 and were the only ones actually sitting down to eat. The owner gave us a sample of some sort of a chickpea "taco" and recommended a delicious beer. The curry goat and roti was delicious as was the jerk pork. The phone rang off the hook and there were many people walking in to pick up their to-go orders. This is definitely a take-out restaurant and the owners have made it very clear that they are not used to patrons sitting- one of the tables in the middle of the restaurant had the makings of an office (see pic). Nonetheless, the food was terrific and it made for everything. Plenty of leftovers!

Located in Margate, next to Winn Dixie, you might pass by if you weren't looking for it. The decor needs some work. I wasn't impressed by the ladies who greeted me when I walked in, they were dressed to kill in outfits that must have been purchased at an Imelda Marcos estate sale; with attitudes to match... It seemed as if they weren't paying enough attention to their (don't know if they actually owned it) restaurant. Maybe one day they'll put more effort into the food. Again, the food was ok but it was missing the home cooked charm that you can taste at Priya's Roti Shop. Because the two places are located so close to each other, I can't recommend Lucky City. Drive an extra 1.5 miles and head to Priya's, you'll be happy that you did.

Flat screen tv in dining area another plus.. Clean & quiet. Better than a lot of mom & pop places if been. I will definitely be back & will highly recommend
