5 stars. Earned perfectly in every way. Food was fresh and phenomenal. Like Doug-e-Fresh Fresh. Waiter brought us two shares of appetizers so we didn't have to share, no extra charge. Owner brought us out the most glorious boat of sushi you've ever seen. Piled high with sushi we ordered, as well as quite a few select pieces of nigiri, again, free of charge. After our food coma set in, the owner came out and chatted with us about his restaurant. You could tell this was a dude passionate about food. Could not recommend this place more highly!

As a "Thai snob" as I have been called...I had to try this place as I had not know it was here until this week. I did a take-out order for myself and a few co-workers and everyone said their meals were very good. I always have to try the Pad-Thai when I find a new place and base my opinion off of that entrée. The dish was good, was not greasy or overly sweet and had a good amount of flavoring. I could go on and on about Thai places but will just say it is worth trying this place as I will be returning to try a new dish! :)

Our group wasn't impressed by the freshness of the sushi here and halfway through our meal the ants that were all over the window area had made it our our plates...the person sitting closest to the window had over a dozen ants eating her sushi. We mentioned the ants to the waitress and she just smiled and said yes, they are aware.

I can honestly say that I have eaten here four times in less than two weeks! Me and my fiancé just moved in about a quarter mile down 110th and couldn't be happier to find such an awesome sushi spot so close. I have tried to have something different every time I've come and I still haven't found something I like. As far as sushi goes we have had three different rolls: the dynamite (perfect amount of spicy and crunch), the supreme maki (the salmon on top is insanely awesome) and the crunch roll (there tempura is great so any item with it is a plus). Each one was rolled perfectly and looked great on the plate. I've added several pictures so check them out! For plates we have tried a few as well. The chicken fried rice and chicken tempura were both excellent! Also, for those drinking: the sakes and beer deals are always cheap!

Oh so good. Got the salmon lovers sushi roll. Fresh, decent size pieces of sushi on top and within with a sweet eel sauce / spicy mayo drizzled ontop with tempura crunchies. Presentation was great too. Got here 45 mins before closing and the food and service is still good. Waiters and waitresses as very friendly and welcoming. Thai tea is a great drink to start and end your meal. Fellow NYer Peter owns the place. Great guy, great conversation.

Great place , great customer service ,great staff, great owner !! The sushi was great , the owner (who was also the chef) was very personable. He made sure our sushi was made to our satisfaction, & even let us watch him make it , while explaining every ingredient to the T & answering our crazy wacky questions. I absolutely recommend this place , good food, great prices (they offer military discount & feed Purple Heart recipients for free). the owner made me & my family feel at home . It was wonderful , not fancy but one of those small hidden gems. It's a new business but has great potential. Make sure you go and see him you won't be disappointed .

Love the food. Very nice staff. I order from them on a semi regular basis. When my mom is in town she always wants to order the duck jacuzzi. I haven't personally had the sushi, but friends that have said it's excellent.

iThai is a puzzle, wrapped in an enigma. The food was pretty good. We had Thai and sushi and found it to be solid. The service was puzzlingly cordial...we received handshakes and extremely enthusiastic welcomes and chitchat from the waiter (owner?). So much so, I was almost looking for a hidden camera. Fun though! There were a lot of things that had me shaking my head - such as, who did the interior design here?? It feels they snagged the contents of an old Long John Silvers at auction, added a few items from a thrift store, and "called it good". They are missing anything remotely "Thai", and seem to have decided to go "nautical" (as well as some completely random elements that defy categorization). It's no dealbreaker, but the ambience is remarkably absent. Posted a couple photos from the inside of the men's bathroom for the lols. The rest of the place is treated similarly, with many bare walls to boot. I ordered the Massaman Curry, a Thai standard. I found it odd that the menu listed it as having no potatoes, and having red & green peppers instead. I ordered it for this reason. When it arrived, it had no peppers, and had giant hunks of still-hard, not cooked enough, potatoes (the reason I've stopped getting Massaman curry). It also had peanuts (not listed on the menu, and something you really need to mention these days). I asked for it to be HOT. I was told "the Hot is pretty darn hot" (I usually get Thai Hot). It arrived without a trace of spice. Literally a blank slate of pure mild. The pepper tray fixed it up nicely. If I lived in the area and needed some "to go" Thai, this place seems like a fair option. Would I return? With the plethora of Thai/Sushi spots in the area there is zero reason to come back.

Great little place for lunch and close to my work! Had two sushi rolls, salad, and soup for a low price of $11 so I will be back! I have only been here for lunch which never seems overly busy but I hear dinner time it is more busy. Service is always great!! I recommend this place.

Exquisite Thai and Japanese food and service in a clean and comfortable hideaway. Warm welcome followed by masterful presentation of Dinner King and Queen, Sushi Boat, mango and sticky rice +++!

HMM... ABOUT THE APPEARANCE Not sure what to think about it. This stand-alone building looks like a neighborhood Sushi restaurant. Almost a dive. Kinda worn out. Even the inside looks a bit incomplete with the placement of the tables a bit disjointed because of the two rooms (and one room having a big space at the center). WHAT ABOUT THE FOOD? The food has been all over the place in terms of quality (as is most combo Thai/Sushi hybrids). Overall, the food is just decently good. My Sushi Rolls--if it's the simple ones--had okay textures and very wispy flavors. They also have more elaborate, sauced-up Rolls but it's always difficult to tell the quality of those kinds. A Fried Seafood appetizers seemed to have gone a tad stale in texture when it came to us. The Steamed Dumplings held the consistency of having been previously frozen although the taste was good. CRAZY FRIENDLY SERVICE But the manager (owner?) is insanely friendly and walks around in a regular T-shirt and jeans greeting every table. Even the servers can be very bubbly and chatty. This all makes this place likeable. Like I said, this is like a neighborhood Sushi place. I won't make a destination of it solely based on the food, but since it's close to where I visit I'll keep returning here.

Found this restaurant while in the Tampa area using Yelp. Food was tasty. We had a California roll, the Volcano roll and a Japanese bagel roll. It was an older building , but due to the Yelp rating we decided to have dinner here. We checked in and asked to use the 10% Yelp discount and we were told it was only good on Tuesday but they agreed to honor it on Friday. When we received our bill the prices we were charged were more than the menu price, saving us $1. I would not choose to eat here again.

My wife and I have been coming back for more at iThai for over 2 years now. The food is always great and the service is phenomenal. Peter is the man!! He always takes good care of us even when its a to go order he comes out to say hey and chat a min. We will be back for more. Maybe even tonight.... Thanks Peter!!!! See you soon buddy.

I recently ordered a 2 dishes, 2 cups of soup, and 1 appetizer from this place. Although everything tasted great, the delivery was horrible! It took us 2+ hours to get our food. After the first hour, I called the establishment to ask where our food was. I was told that they would contact the delivery man and get back to me. No one ever got back to me. After 2 hours I called again, same drill. At around 2 hours and 20 minutes I finally got a knock on my door. Jokingly I asked the gentleman "Trouble finding the place?" to which he said "No..." I kinda eyed him suspiciously, but he didn't care. No explanation, no apology, nothing... I'm gonna give this place a second chance, but given the option this is not going to be where I order delivery from in the future. -1 point for terrible delivery. -1 point for customer service

Decided to try a new place by the office for lunch. I placed a to go order and did not dine in. I ordered a beef pad see ew. The lady that took my order was friendly. Food was done pretty fast, but they were not that busy when I came in. I had asked for a spring roll with it (entree comes with spring roll, salad or soup) but instead got a soup in my order. The soup was not good. It was pretty bland and lukewarm. Pad see ew was ok, but I thought it was a bit lacking in flavor as well. Will maybe give another try and order something else next time I'm in the area.

The food was... okay. The sushi tasted fresh but it was not as cold as I am used to. The ginger salad was great. I had a hard time enjoying my meal: The smell of an old car mechanic lingered. Whatever you do, don't sit on the green booths, they disgusted me.

The outside can make you wonder, "is this the right place?"...don't worry! It is! Wonderful service. Everyone is very kind and your drink is never empty and you are never left feeling ignored. My boyfriend and I are in the area from Massachusetts and came to this restaurant for lunch. We ordered the fresh rolls, and pad thai. As soon as we ordered, we were almost immediately given a delicious soup (chicken and rice) and a salad with ginger dressing (awesome!). The fresh rolls were great, and our pad thai was also delicious. They asked us how spicey we wanted it when we placed our order. Overall, everything was very well priced. It was a relaxed atmosphere with great service. I recommend this as a place to eat locally when you are traveling!

Worst restaurant I've ever been too in my life. The chairs were put up on the tables even though it was 7pm. The services was terrible. I was the only one in the restaurant yet everything came out super slow and I had to ask to get my drink refilled after 40 mins of no one coming to me. We had to ask for a spice tray 3 times. I even had to ask for soysauce for the sushi I ordered. They didn't even give me chopsticks or a bowl for the soy sauce. The food has way too much msg in it and my girlfriend couldn't even finish it. This place seriously needs an upgrade in management, staff, and food. Wish I've never came here. Update: I couldn't even finish my sushi and on the way home, I almost threw up.

Great food. Great service. However, I'm a sucker for ambiance and decor ... and because of this, I've yet to return. I feel so guilty having said that, and know that true foodies don't care about such insignificant nonsense - so please ... Go, support small/local, and enjoy a fabulous meal :)

We had a great experience tonight at iThai and will definitely be back. Firstly- this review is of sushi, service, and atmosphere. No Thai food was ordered, but we will try it next time! The owner Peter recommended we try the pad thai, which is made the traditional way with tamarind. Very excited to check this out, and the various curry offerings. As for sushi- you cannot go wrong with the current summer special of two rolls for $10. Our 8 pcs each of salmon/avocado/cucumber, spicy salmon, eel/cuke/avocado, and yellowtail scallion, did not disappoint. At $5 each they did not skimp on fish in quality or quantity. The young sushi chef "Thunder" was very accommodating and offered to make anything we wanted and just to ask about modifications etc. We also enjoyed a chefs special salmon roll, which was utterly outstanding. So fresh!

My favorite Sushi place in the area. The Thai food is great too. My favorite is the Duck Jacuzzi. The service is quick and the restaurant is clean. Frequent customer!

I ordered my food to go, but pad Thai was decent and thai tea is always good! I'll definitely check them out again since my previous favorite Thai restaurant (Thai Pan Alley) is under new ownership and apparently going downhill.

Amazing food, friendly and attentive service. Ambience just OK, old but very clean. Panang curry is outstanding. Duck jacuzzi is great too, although a bit pricey. You can't go wrong here.

iThai is always a good pick. Eat in or take out, you can expect a great meal. The seasonings are spot on and they let you customize how spicy you want your dish to be. I have eaten here a few dozen times and have never been disappointed. If you like sushi, they have a wonderful sushi bar where dishes are made fresh in front of you while you wait.

Best thai in st Pete clearwater area. The sushi is awesome, the curry very flavorful and the ownership and employees are very nice

The outside looks different now, but this was formerly Tum Nuk Thai, and changed ownership a couple months ago. IThai & Sushi is already a welcome change. The new owner Peter is continuing to update both the menu and decor. Peter has worked as a chef in several major US cities and does a fine job preparing/presenting fresh, well seasoned, good quality Thai entrees from his menu, or made to order. My husband loved the grilled salmon. It was a flaky, tender, generous sized filet over brown rice with a sautéed mix of fresh vegetables. The accompanying chili sauce was light with a balanced blend of sweet and spicy. My shrimp Pad Thai reminded me of our travels to Thailand. While we dined a party of six was celebrating a birthday. They go three times a week. We may not match their attendance, but we will definitely be back soon. If you love Thai, or just want good food, check it out!

Good place for excellent Thai food. Although the curry is wasted on me (I don't do spicy) they have plenty of non spicy choices as well. The chicken satay is delicious and I had trouble eating my sushi because my young daughter nearly gobbled up my serving! Needless to say, I was stuffed when I left and do plan on returning whenever I am in the area. The place is fairly new, so not crowded, although it will most likely get busier as word gets out of the authentic thai food available. I would highly recommend this to anyone in search of a great meal.

We are not from the area and were pleasantly surprised to find this place. The sushi was fresh and I ordered the Thai appetizer and it was very tasty!! The owner came out to speak to is and made us feel that he really appreciated out business. It was a nice touch. Will come again while we are in town.

Definitely some of the best Thai food we've found in all of Tampa. The egg rolls were fresh with a nice sauce. Spicy noodles with chicken delivered an awesome punch of flavor and spice. Everything was authentic but not overwhelming which was great. Extensive sushi list as well. Plus the Singha brought us back to trips to Thailand. We will definitely be back here and thought the place was perfect. Wish we found it sooner.

We love iThai! Great good, great service! They are on our weekly dining out rotation! Try their spicy basil or cashew chicken. Fresh sushi. Thai tea (sweet or not). Very friendly.

Yummy Thai! Nom nom nom! This place is seriously the best. They are always busy when they are open too, which made me happy! Their Tom Yum is awesome....and spicy noodle is so good.

We were so happy when this place opened close to home! Their Thai is exceptional and the staff is so friendly. We had sushi once and thought it was good but not great, having said that we did do take out so I think we need to give it another try dining in. Pad Thai is my favorite and it's so good here. The portions are large so I can eat it for days. They have great lunch specials that are very reasonably priced.

Our experience was not like the other reviews here at all. The place was dead slow only one person working in the whole front including take out and call in orders. Predicting slow service I wanted to leave when we stat down and waited a long time before a drink order was taken but decided to wait it out. Wasn't impressed with the food or service at all. The place seems like an unfinished construction project inside and out and wasn't very clean.

We LOVE this place!! Being newcomers to the area, we consider ourselves extremely lucky to have found IThai & Sushi to quickly replace our favorite Thai restaurant in Arizona. The food is awesome - tasty and attractively presented - and we absolutely love the staff and the owner, who are extremely friendly and always remember us! We took our daughter and son-in-law, who love sushi, here last night to celebrate my husband's birthday and they, too, thought it was a great place. Yes, of all the restaurant choices we had to celebrate a birthday, this was our choice. Definitely give this restaurant a try. We promise you'll like it.

Comparably in the top two or three thai restaurants this side of the bay. However, the to go portions are about half the size of your typical thai restaurant (not sure about dine in) at a slightly higher cost. This thai restaurant is larger and has better decor than others in the area and the sushi chefs are in plain view. Chicken pad thai has perfectly cooked little peices of chicken with no bony pieces and has a wonderful flavor. Thai ice tea was typical.

It feels good to FINALLY write a positive review. The owners are great. Food is DELICIOUS. And the LUNCH prices are SO reasonable in comparison to the amount of food you get! A must go for anyone in the area who likes Thai & better for anyone who would like to TRY Thai! The owner was kind enough to bring my fiancé a small amount of the pad Thai noodles to TRY before she ordered a whole dish. Great customer service! Go to iThai!

We ate here last weekend and were very impressed. Jennifer our waitress was very courteous and efficient in spite of being very busy. We also meet the new owner Peter who told us of his mornings starting at the market picking out the fresh veggies that he uses in his receipts. Definitely going to recommend this restaurant to friends and plan on returning...

This place is the best!!! The rolls are delicious! The staff is great! We always leave full and completely satisfied!! We love the Betty roll, but everything we've had has been wonderful. The owners are so nice, they always want to give my daughter a free ice cream or dessert - but we're always so stuffed on their fine sushi! It's started out slow so I'm hoping as word gets around of how delicious it is more people will come - I want them to succeed!

Gonna make this quick as the pirates are playing the cards and I have to watch it. my friend wanted sushi and I wanted Thai so this met both. wonton soup was really good -nice size small bowl as an appetizer. wontons were tasty and firm. larb as a meal- outstanding. chicken texture was very nice. spice was great blend without one flavor overpowering the other. I ordered hot and it was on the mild side of hot...which is good. super nice folks here!!! service was impeccable. the owner, Peter, introduced himself and is pretty funny. :) his entire staff...outstanding. I will definitely recommend and will definitely return!!!

I was driving down Seminole Blvd and saw a sushi/Thai restaurant, it looked busy, so I stopped to have some sushi. Great sushi! I had some tuna and a rainbow roll, also a salad, and it was very very good. Looking forward to going back to try the Thai dishes. The owner came over and introduced himself, which was nice. The service was excellent. If you are a sushi lover, give this place a try. You'll like it!

My 15 & 16 year old sons love this place. Always asking to go. Staff is super friendly and food is excellent. Quickly becoming our favorite place to eat out.

We were excited to have Thai back in the area but are left extremely disappointed. My wife ordered chicken fried rice and there is almost no chicken in the dish. I ordered the broccoli pork entree and while tasty it literally had about two ounces of pork. The taste was fine the value was not there. I would rather see them raise the price then skimp on ingredients. In reading previous reviews it appears the dine in experience is much better than the to go. We will not be returning.

Excellent Pad Thai and Penang Grouper! The only drawback is the decor is a little dated and the exterior could use a little work. But the food.....exceptional!

  • Eric S.

I'm a celebrity here! After only a couple visits the owner Peter (who frequently travels the floor speaking to patrons) ALREADY SEEMED TO KNOW ME. Yo--don't spoil my fun by saying it's probably because the place is never busy so of course they'll remember the faces who care. Well--kinda true. Plus there's this weird space at the center filled by a random table that makes the OVERALL FEEL KINDA EMPTIER. Is this for random dance parties? Anyway I've had rolls here several times and they SHIFT IN GREATNESS... except for my AWESOMELY DELICIOUS ITHAI ROLL which blends Cream Cheese, Eel, and Salmon--I didn't think those would taste good together but they do! Now I wish I could say the same for OTHER ROLLS there which HAVE SOMETIMES BEEN MEH. Did I say meh? Yeah--even their Seafood Appetizer is meh although it's kinda sexy with ALL THE FRIED STUFF everywhere. The flavors just tasted--well--REHEATED. Seriously. Same with their Steamed Dumplings but daaang I still ate everything. Now that I think about it, they're serving food from several Asian countries here.

Went for dinner after reading reviews. So glad I did. Not pretty from the outside, but absolutely worth it once you walk in. Crab rangoon was the best I have had in St Pete area. And the sushi was delicious and so fresh!!! Great prices for everything. Peter, the owner is such a nice man!! I will definitely be back!

Went with my aunt and had the crab Rangoon, dynamite roll, and the FBI. Best sushi by far I've had in St. Petersburg!! This is a must try. Very nice staff and owner is amazing!! Five stars for sure.

It's been a few months since I have been in here due to my schedule being busy. I walked in this past week and was greeted by Peter the owner who remembered my name. He welcomed me in and was cordial as you would ever want an owner to be. We had sushi rolls tonight and the fish was fresh and very good. Highly recommend the rolls that are on the board. You won't be disappointed. This place is a gem and anyone who passes by will enjoy a nice quaint meal along with the smiles and warm welcomes of the owner Peter. Enjoy.

Owner, Peter, lives up to his reputation as friendly and efficient. I had duck pad thai today that was excellent and large portion. The peanut sauce on my side salad was the best I have tasted. Large pot of Green tea made for a perfect lunch.

Great Sushi....Peter the owner made us our own special rolls. Excellent value and great quality sushi! Will be back for sure....especially Sparkle Roll and 2 for $10.
