This is one of my all time favorite Italian restaurants. Having come from NJ/NY I was very hard pressed to find good Italian food here in Florida. From the minute I stepped foot in Amici I knew I had arrived. The roasted pepper Bocconcini is perfection. You will be hard pressed to find better chicken piccata anywhere. Their veal is tender like mama's. Duncan is a great waiter. You will not be disappointed. Great food, great family, and a good wine list, recipe for a great nite. Family gathering or date you can't go wrong with Amici.

Pizza was great, had the sausage and artichoke, but was really impressed with the calzone. It had thin and crispy crust, was dense with cheese and veggies, and tasted fantastic with the marinara dipping sauce.

Read about this place on Yelp and being in the mood for some great Italian food away from the tourist crowds, we decided to take a ride and try it out. Amici's did not disappoint. To start, our server, Linda, brought out fresh bread and a dipping oil with crushed red pepper and fresh garlic....followed by their house salad and super secret recipe dressing that was delicious. I had the Margherita Chicken over a bed of sautéed spinach that was divine! My friend had the Broccoli, Olive Oil and Garlic over fresh homemade pasta. When we both stop talking and just eat, you know it's fantastic food! Even though we were happily full, Lin twisted our arms and we had dessert. I had the Lemon Sorbet served in a REAL LEMON! My friend had the homemade Tiramisu (I snuck a bite - OMG!). We both ended our meals with cups of the smoothest coffee ever. The cute older Italian couple next to us had a pizza that they said was fantastic - we may go back soon to try it our ownselves! I HIGHLY recommend Amici's!

I was delighted to find this sweet little family run Italian restaurant. The son of the owner waited on our table and he was charming. I keep thinking about the Antipasti I had. It was Bocconcini and Roasted Red Peppers. Just amazing! I highly recommend.

I really like their pizza, the crust is on the thicker side, but really good. They have the best bruschetta I've ever had. The bottom usually comes out a little charred, but for some reason, it's really good. The gorganzola gnocci is a hit also. Service is very good, prices are very reasonable.

Tried Amici for the first time and was very pleased with the quality and freshness of our pepperoni pizza. Good value for the price.

Caprese Salad, Chicken Parm, Fettuccine Alfrado, Chocolate Ice Cream Truffle dessert were all awesome!! We will definitely be going back to try more! Yum!

Excellent service, amazing food, welcoming staff and atmosphere. Definitely recommend! So glad we found this place! We tried 3 different dishes and shared, white pizza, lasagna, and a chicken dish (I can't remember the name of) that our waiter, Duncan recommended. This is family owned and operated, which makes it even better.

Awesome food and great staff but a little pricey. Waited a while to get dinner because they were swamped with a few large groups but worth the wait. Tiramisu was phenomenal!! Would definitely come back again.

Outstanding food, excellent service reasonable prices and a $10 corkage fee. The specials that Carmello (the Chef) produces are terrific. I recently ordered a grouper dish that was the best grouper I have had in Florida, bar none. There are several other good Italian restaurants in the area, but Amici's offers the best value and amazing specials. While the ambiance is not terrific the combination of food, value and service make up for fancy chandeliers and obnoxious waiters.

Not even close to Villa Maria on pizza, where you can bring your own wine without corking charge. The carafe of wine at Amici's tasted watered down. At $25 a carafe, don't waste your money!

I read one of the yelp reviews, so I gave this place a try. Being from out of town(ny) I didn't want fast food Italian. We had pizza , veal rollatini, pasta bolognese, across the board it was a good. I enjoyed the house salad too . The service was good , very polite . I will return to this place when in the area

Best Italian food I've had in Tampa Bay. I crave the marinara so much I usually take some home. The wait staff and owners are very friendly. The decor isn't anything special, but who cares when the food is this good.

First off - although this place looks like a dump from the outside, the interior is very, very nice. Clean, modern, and comfortable. Service usually excellent. Food is amazing. Best Italian on the beach, in my opinion. Never tried the pizza, but everything else is outstanding. Eggplant Parmesean was superb.

Went for an early Sunday dinner. Wife and I wanted to try something new. We have driven past Amici's before and decided to stop on in. Being early the restaurant was not crowded but our server Duncan had a keen instinct it was our first visit. He was very attentive and provided some great dinner recommendations, veal saltinbucca for the wife and linguine Del Golfo (there version of Frutti del mare) for myself. After Duncan boxed up the left overs we just had to hear what they offered for dessert. Had to get the tirimissu as its a classic but also got sold on something unique a lemon sorbet that is imported from Italy. Both desserts were fantastic. Bottom line good food, good service, and family run definitely coming back.

We moved to Clearwater Beach and had gone by this place , During the day it looks like a place that is closed down but in the evenings I do note that there are a few cars there . We didn't feel like driving a long ways so as we drove by I happened to see about 10 cars and decided to stop and give it a try . First off , the inside looks nothing like the outside . They really should at least paint the outside or do something to make it look like it is not closed up . We tried the pizza and pasta , spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs . I tell you , in my full opinion , I have no clue what keeps this place open . We ordered a deluxe pizza which comes with pepperoni , sausage , onion and green peppers , mushrooms and black olives . I don't care for the olives so they let me add garlic instead . The pizza , didn't have much cheese on it at all , the vegetables were on the crunchy side .. it was like the they added the vegetables later during the baking process or something . The sauce was very watery and puddles on the pan as the pizza was served to us . It is a thin crust , the sauce lacked a lot of flavor . The pasta , was a nice amount but the meat sauce had a very different flavor to it ... as I kept eating it and trying to figure out what it was , it then came to me ... it tasted like nutmeg . WHO PUTS NUTMEG in red sauce and also in the meatballs ? I do note one thing here on Yelp and the reviews of this restaurant , they are mostly all very similar in the description , talking about the food , service and most of them talking about the desserts .. similar pattern of posting here . The service was good , but the place wasn't packed either . For a 16 inch pizza , and one order of spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs .. we drank water and my bill was $44.00 , I don't mind paying $20-$30. for an entree if the food is good . .

This Restaurant might be the best kept secret! They grow their own Herbs and, the Service and Food are outstanding and, the Ambiance is Fantastic. I had my first visit yesterday and...I can't wait to go back. A Family Business and...it is awesome... whether you want a Romantic table for 2... or a Family Party of 8 - 12 or more.

Went here for dinner on a recent Thursday evening. I had Spagetti Bolognese. My brother had the Grouper with white wine and lemon sauce. Both entrees were very good. The server was friendly and attentive. The wait staff helped each other which was nice to see. Dessert was a delicious dark chocolate Tartufo, with a hazelnut center - YUM! The restaurant is at the end of a standard strip shopping center, but inside you are transplanted to Italy. Nice decor. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend.

Saturday evening at 9:30pm we went in and a guy greeted us and said the kitchen is closed. Hours on the door said 10pm, and they have a bright neon "open" light. So if you want to try out this place go before the staff decides they are done for the evening.

Visited after doing a search on Yelp because I was in the mood for Italian and the reviews were good. Waitress was very cordial and eager to please. She made some recommendations and seemed sincere. So she alone gets 5 stars. The atmosphere was good once you got inside. If I hadn't found it on Yelp and was just driving by, I would have never stopped to give it a shot. It is in a worn out strip mall setting. Upon arrival, my BF actually wanted to leave. There was soft music in what I can only assume was being sung in Italian. ..so cozy, yes. Alot of choices on the menu but narrow on the appetizers so we skipped that and since we were torn between pizza and pasta, we got one of each and shared. The pasta tasted fresh and homeade. The Alfredo sauce was delicious, however the chicken in it was little cut up pieces of blandness. The pizza was quite awesome until it started to cool down in which the dough became difficult to chew. Oh, and I ordered a Root Beer because they didn't have sweet tea and was brought out a can of generic brand. Prices were a little on the high side considering the quality and quantity. Sorry to say that it will not be on the list of places I feel the need to revisit when returning to the area.

Excellent meal, this was the first time my and I wife were here. I had the chicken marsala and my wife had the veal marsala, best Italian in the area. We visit every Spring To this area from the midwest for the month of March. And in the many years I have been coming here, this was one of the best, I have ever had.

When they say Italian, they mean Italian. This is no olive garden folks, this is authentic Italian cooking. The food is always perfectly cooked and seasoned. The pastas are homemade and perfect. (gnocchi was amazing and I hate it everywhere else I eat it). The tripe was perfect, also something I wouldn't eat other places. But seriously the chef hand makes almost everything and it's all fresh. If you want authentic Italian food try this place out.

In a city full of chain restaurants, finding Amici was a breath of fresh air. The service was fantastic and the food was great, too! The garlicky spiced oil they make for the bread is sooooo good! Haven't had anything like it before at a local place. I also had the chicken parm. Pretty decent. I tried my mom's penne fra diavlo with calamari. Really great. My grandma's linguine with clam sauce = delish! I'll definitely be back and will save room for dessert next time!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
