If you're from Texas and like Tex-Mex then you'll love this place! Salsa is good (and free) and the Red Mole sauce is delicious and semi-sweet but a perfect combo for the enchiladas. The Dos Equis on draft is really good too!

This place is a bad, overpriced, VERY American version of Mexican food. At best it's a 2 out of 10. The beans are watery, the meat is awful, the drinks are disgusting, the tortillas are store bought, and the staff is horrible. The staff over charges you for a tiny dollop of sour cream, they speak in Spanish and ignore the customers, and if the there is an issue they just don't care. There are so many better places with much better food and way better service. Don't bother with this place!

Their food is good - classic Mexican. They've recently launched a new menu of margaritas that is much improved over their old menu. The pre-made (house/frozen) margaritas are very weak. Service can be slow.

FOOD: Chips and salsa are solid. Salsa has a nice kick. Ordered a side of guacamole and it was bland and mainly just avocados. Tried the queso and it was just plain melted cheese. Ordered 1 ground beef taco and it was better than the 1 shredded beef taco as it had more spice and flavor. Chicken flauta and chicken enchilada was very good. Both full of chicken and flavorful. Rice and beans are good here too. SERVICE: Czar was excellent. He guided us through the menu and was helpful and attentive. ATMOSPHERE: Didn't go here for the atmosphere. Food comes out quick, hot, and is fresh. Restaurant and bathroom clean. WATCHOUTS: They need to disclose and clarify the pricing upfront for their margaritas, otherwise pricing was good. We ordered a skinny margarita and it was $11.99. That was a shock as the same sized regular margarita was $6.00.

We were regulars here for quite some time going multiple times a week. Not any longer. Service has suffered, the chicken portions in the fajitas has dwindled to a meager amount, and the place feels more like a get 'em in and get 'em out kind of deal now. Don't know what changed but it has. Go to Guacamole's a mile or two west of here for more reasonable portions and more personable service. Sad it came to this.

AMAZING!!! I love Rancho Chico! They have great drinks, service, food and even the salsa is freshly made. My drink is always refilled and the food comes out quickly. They have the best rice. I always get the blue margarita and it is HUGE!!!! Everything is completely worth the prices. They have two convenient locations and both are very clean.

My husband and I came here on a Friday night. We were a little early so we beat the crowd. Our waiter was nice and attentive, and the service was quick. My husband got the steak fajitas, and I ordered the arroz con pollo with no tomatoes. I can't stand the taste of anything tomato-related (including pizza sauce, spaghetti sauce, etc.). When our meals arrived everything looked good, but mine smelled off. I took a bite and immediately hated the flavor. My husband tried it and thought it was good. I noticed the arroz con pollo had some kind of thin sauce. Since I have an irrational fear of sending food back, my husband decided that we would take my dish to-go for him to eat as the next day and I would order a new dish. When our waiter came by to check on us, I let him know that my dish tasted of tomatoes and that I couldn't eat it, but we would keep it and order something new. The waiter informed me that the arroz con pollo was cooked in their burrito sauce that had tomatoes. I wish he would have told me this when I ordered it sans tomato, since the menu didn't mention any sauce. Nonetheless, he spoke with their manager and they insisted on taking back my dish and making something else. I had the garlic shrimp, which was good, but not really what you want to order at a Mexican restaurant. Overall, they were accommodating and nice, but even if nothing had happened with my dish, I still think I'd give them 3 stars, as the restaurant itself was a bit rundown and nothing made us feel like we wanted to return. I'm told that their other locations are a bit better, so I may give them another chance elsewhere.

My friend and I stopped by on the way back from Miami to grab a quick lunch. I ordered the arroz con pollo and she had a quesadilla. Our food was okay but not great by any means, and my dish was nothing like I have ever had before. I've ordered the classic ACP in many states in various Mexican restaurants and it has all been the same thing-rice, chicken, and white cheese sauce-until this visit. This one was a red sauce, had a ton of mushrooms, and I am not sure where the cheese was. It wasn't too bad, just not at all what I was expecting. The booth we were seated in was all cracked and torn up. I stopped by the ladies room and noticed the tile in the hallway did not actually reach the wall. The restroom was very gross and when I peeped into the kitchen on the way out and saw how dirty it was, I wished that we had chosen somewhere else. The waiter was friendly and I appreciated that. One star for the friendliness and one star for the quickness of the meal. Unfortunately, that is all this place has going for it. If you're on the road and looking for a decent place to stop, keep driving.

Not great food. The service was decent and the workers were nice but ultimately, it's a restaurant and the food definitely could be better.

My oh my. We had already visited the Tequesta location and were driving by and decided to try this location. Oi. Finally some good Mexican food in South Florida. Coming from Texas, we always find the Mexican food a little meh in these parts. But this is the sort of food one could crave if you like Mexican food. The mole enchiladas are our favorite. We also tried the chile relleno, and it was satisfying as well. We will be returning to one location or the other in the future even though it is a drive for us.

What a hidden gem. Beef tacos, pork carnitas, 3 house margaritas for $47. I gave an $8 tip on that cause service was excellent. Will definitely go again.

My first time at this restaurant. The salsa is very good food over all is good. but the service is lacking. if you don't mind a bartender with attitude, your drink being left empty and no attention to taking your order, this this is a great place. If they could fix their service, they would have a winner.

We recently moved to S. Fla. from Texas and I've been missing great Tex-Mex. We decided to try this place based on reviews. Well, although service was quick and nice, the margaritas were a big disappointment and the food was okay. We even ordered Top Shelf with the hopes that it would be great, but we were let down. The salsa was not good, contrary to reviews saying it was. It is definitely not authentic Tex-Mex.

Best Mexican I've had in Florida! Service was fast, friendly and knowledgeable. Margaritas are the best around, strong, delicious and cheap! Order the picture of 1800! I'm giving this place 3 thumbs up! Only wish it was closer to me, I would make it my weekly taco Tuesday.

We come here very often. today we went to have a margarita and a snack. We were presently surprised to meet two wonder people ( Pedro and Newbie ) they were new to the area. The two made our day. Have to,admit the service here is usually not at,the best. There is one server (a older male) I don't know his name but he is a HORRIBLE WAITER. Acts like he can't be bothered. Until the check comes, then he will smile hoping to get a tip. Love the new addition to the associates! We will be back defiantly sooner the planed.

  • Shell O.

I give this restaurant 5 stars mainly for the margaritas. The food is not bad, in fact I've never had a disappointing meal there. It's always hot, fast and tasty. Honestly I prefer Rancho Chico over places like Rocco's tacos and Cantina Laredo. It's not over priced for what you get like some so called Mexican restaurants. I would definitely recommend it and dine there quite often.

I have eaten here many times before , but nothing prepared me for the meal I had last night. The waitress was extremely attentive and a lot of fun! The staff was constantly checking on us and making sure we had everything. To top it off I had an eccellent fajitas burito, and the price was most reasonable.

  • Mary C.

It was good. But I had a view of the kitchen and it looked very dirty. Also, when I was near the hallway bathroom, it smelled VERY bad. It smelled like the dumpster, and that is right next to the tables. The bathroom was also very dirty. Good food, but the dirtiness makes me not want to return. Chipotle is right next store, I should've just went there. Chipotle is always delicious and VERY clean!

Beware ordering the guacamole! They play games with the price of it. If you order guac to go with your chips, it's $3.99. The menu says on the side with your meal is $0.99. I've ordered it on the side before but got the larger portion so I was extremely careful to order a SIDE this time, was still charged $3.99. The waiter argued with me, said the larger portion is what I got. Yeah, that's fine, but that's not what I ORDERED. The manager argued with me. Both of them told me the $0.99 was a very small portion, $1.99 is what comes on the side, but I got the larger dish. I have no idea what you have to do to get the small side. I wouldn't have been so annoyed if it hadn't happened before. They do other little things like this to run up the bill. Yeah, not impressed. We have eaten here many times. The food is always excellent. The service is hit or miss. Tonight we had very slow service (table next to us was seated as we finished eating, they were done eating about the time the manager was explaining why I had the $3.99 guac). I think we'll find another place for Mexican. I don't like games, and I really don't like a manager arguing with me, defending their bait and switch and the waiter's lousy service.

This is a bar/Mexican place. The usual suspects of chips, salsa, taco salads and burritos. Nothing special. The wait staff is not real friendly. Did not ask how my meal was until I was almost done. I am sitting here typing this with no sight of my check. Perhaps I should leave?? Just kidding. Won't be back.

  • Michelle F.

Service not good... Yelling at tables, waiting long service time... Food finally arrived and it was not edible. Sent it back immediately. No manager assistance, no trying to make it better or offer menu for another item. Amazingly bad service and amazingly bad food. Never recommend nor return.

  • Kurt M.

Terrible service at the bar for lunch. I've had better quesadillas out of the freezer.

  • Cielo F.

There's absolutely nothing Mexican about this place. I'd go to Taco Bell over this place any day of the week given that the food and service at Taco Bell far surpasses that of this place. There's also nothing Mexican about the drinks... They didn't know what a Michelada was and even though they obviously had everything they needed to make it- they wouldn't. That said, our friends enjoyed the margaritas and drinks and that's the only reasoning behind the two stars.

  • Michele R.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! The food is excellent and so is the service. Been there twice now, and the staff could not be nicer. The salsa is the best I have ever tasted ...in my life! That alone is s reason to go. Portions ate huge- I can never finish, so I have lunch the next day. Can't say enough good things...great place.

Served us fajitas with only 2 tortillas. I asked for more and was charged $2.00 for them. The server Alfonso argued with my wife about how many we received and would not remove the charge because he said the owner watches everything on video and he could lose his job over it, like losing a customer wasn't a big deal. I was blown away to say the least. We ordered guacamole but never got it. We also ordered shredded cheese and got it towards the end of our meal, too late to enjoy with our food. I won't have left this review but Alfonso sarcastically comment to us as we walked out the door saying "happy holidays" and watched him and the host laughing like it was a joke to him. We have 22 people in our family here, who I will never bring here again because of the attitude of Alfonso and for the Nickel and dime treatment we received. All this because of $2.00. It's not the money but the principal of matter.

I guess the tell tale sign of a good, authentic Mexican restaurant is that the majority of the people eating there are Mexican. I started w/a raspberry margarita which was yum! Fattening I'm sure, but yuuuummmy! Followed w/ a taco, enchilada and a tamale dinner. All were good, but when I visit family in TX they never put cheese and sauce on tamales , so although it was good, it wasn't my favorite. Taco was ok, but a slightly greasy. Highlight for me was the enchilada, rice and beans. Will be back to try again

  • Heather B.

Food was amazing as always. Had a combo taco, enchilada and tamale. Shredded chicken was very flavorful. Margaritas are great. Had a classic and a strawberry, both were very tasty. The service was also very attentive. Definitely coming back soon!

The salsa is fantastic!!! The food was very good. It is very authentic tasting (not Tex-Mex). Best I've had in North Palm Beach County.

  • Jonathan A.

If you're expecting something fancy, you are definitely in the wrong place. This place is nice and clean, and serves basic "sloppy Mexican" at very reasonable prices. The margaritas were excellent (my wife says the "skinny margarita" was one of the best she's ever had) as was the carne asada burrito. My only gripe was lackluster service. Our waiter routinely strolled by the table as both water and margarita glasses sat empty and even disappeared for 15 minutes (even other staff couldn't find him, apparently).

  • Sunshine G.

Terrible service. Waiting 20 minutes for a drink. Never had refills. Took 20 minutes just to place our food order. Complained to manager & got a "sorry, we are just so busy" lame!!! Food is ehhhhhh ok.

  • Tough C.

Do you want good cheap Mexican place? This is the place to go. The most expensive item on the menu was $6 dollars. I felt like I had traveled back in time. I couldn't believe the prices. The service is OK. But the prices are so good and the food is not bad, this place deserves a good review.

Rancho Chico is a Mexican Restaurant located in Tequesta and Jupiter, Florida. The menu is basic, simple, and priced very reasonable. The food is excellent, and the portions are generous. Taco's, enchiladas, tamales, fajitas and soup. They are open for lunch and dinner. The Tequesta location succeeded another restaurant that had an excessively large dining area so you do not feel as though you are sitting too close to your neighbors. If there is any shortcoming, it is that the menu is concise. Really and truly, that is not an issue with me, but to some others, it might be. What they offer is all prepared very well. We have never had a problem with service or rudeness from the staff as some others have reported on Yelp. In fact, quite the opposite experience. The wait staff works as a team, and seams to take care of everyone very efficiently. The bottom line is that I would recommend Rancho Chico to just about anyone. It is kid friendly, senior friendly, and a good place for business meetings, or just a nice lunch without spending a lot of money.

    (4)
  • Matt S.

I found the food to be very greasy. Plus always seems to induce the dreaded "2am oh crap where is the pepto" type moment. Family never has that exact problem. Just me, oh aren't I lucky... The staff is friendly and the place is clean. It's just the food hates me.

  • Chip W.

Rancho Chico is a Friday night staple for me. I used to be a manager at Margarita Y Amigas in WPB many moons ago. The salsa here is great. My personal favorite on the menu is the Pork Carnitas. It'll bring a smile to your face every time. Lulu is our favorite server. Pretty much smokes all the other Mex joints in town. Is it as good as Cali or Texas? Maybe not quite, but you're in South Florida! Go there and leave happy!

Good food and tasty margaritas! The servers are super nice and the portions are huge. I went twice in one week!

Try the Chile Verde or,even better, the Dos Chiles platter. This is a great neighborhood mexican restaurant. Nothing fancy, just good classic Tex/Mex food. Great service, and good prices!

    (4)
  • Hugo B.

Lame food, good service. The fajita mixta was supposed to be made up of shrimp, scallops and white fish. It was 2 shrimp, 1 scallop and 10 pieces of pre-fried fish (mainly batter) on a sizzling skillet. The only saving grace was the attentive service and friendly wait staff.

    (2)
  • M M.

A great place to take the family of hungry eaters. The food is good and plenty of it at a reasonable price. I frequent Rancho Chico with family and friends. The owner is usually there and very friendly. I recommend the dish with the shrimp, it's outstanding! The chips and salsa are crazy good.

Best carne asasa plate in FL. The staff is always extremely friendly, and professional. A must visit when you are in the area.

  • Karolin B.

Service was super fast and the food was real good. Got the carne asada!

    (5)
  • Kristen R.

When you are seated they bring you chips and salsa. Good atmosphere, the restaurant is nicely decorated. The food is always good & the service is always fast!! The servers usually aren't very talkative but they are friendly. The combos are good but the Carne Asada is the BEST!

    (5)
  • Daniel M.

Not sure why one of the reviewers is saying this place is cheap when it's far from that. Typical hit or miss service. Wasn't very impressed with the frozen Margaritas at all. La Fogata on Northlake does a much better job across the board. Abandoned this place a while back.

  • Olivia F.

Food was good, can't complain. But service is horrible! I'm not one to conplain. But we came in as a party of 9. To celebrate my mothers birthday. Not only did our waitress give us bad service. Our cake that we had specially made for my mother that said my mothers name huge w/ beautiful decorations and candles was given to the wrong table!! Waitresses kinda laughed it off, the manager just gave us a discount. But no apologies were made to our table and they did not try to help the situation. The manager believe or not didn't even apologize. Never again!

Rancho Chico has expanded with a new location in the heart of Jupiter, on Indiantown Road in the Chasewood Plaza. Same great food and feel of the Tequesta location, but closer to me. All the food is great, drinks are great... everything about Rancho Chico is AWESOME :)

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
