Still great food and consistently fresh. I try new things all the time and am pleasantly surprised. It's so good that i've become a regular. The salad with brisket is my new lo-cal choice. I read a few of the one-star reviews and wonder if they are just from nasty people or from competitors because some of the reviews don't make sense. There's one guy who hates it, thinks the owners are "greedy" (whatever that means--prices are reasonable considering the quality) but manages to go to their other restaurant to also pan them. Mrs. Smokey's is deservedly a local fav. With good reason. I see a lot of happy people enjoying their bbq.

Almost 15 years ago I found Mrs Smokeys on Northlake and found what I thought would be a regular BBQ place for me to hit when I needed my 'que fix. Before I had a chance to develop an addiction, the restaurant was gone. I later heard that it had been reincarnated in nearby Lake Park, but that area was just a little too far out of the way for me to swing by there and I forgot all about it. Fast forward to now. Mrs Smokeys has opened a place on the shopping center that services Abacoa and the fit seems right. While I was only ordering take out for two people, I still felt I needed to update everyone who likes BBQ. This place is darn good and I recommend it to all you 'que ballers. I had a pulled pork sandwich with slaw, w the mild/medium spicy sauce and it was gone fast. The meat was tender and everything worked together. The slaw made bun a little soggy on the ride home, but it still held together and the flavor trumped the bun issue. Good stuff. My fries got a 1/4 chicken WI slaw and was complete satisfied. We also tried one of the many interesting appetizers, the chili mac. Being a chili freak I was pleasantly surprised at how good the chili was blended with the macaroni. I forgot to get a pile of cheddar on top, but it was still fun and filling. If you like your yoga pants..you might want to bypass the chili mac. The devour is fun with a country western motif, with booths and seating for a good crowd. Decorations were fun and the play western movies on a large projector and screen so you can keep your spuds on an the model train set that travels the circuit around the ceiling will put most crying babies into a coma. I think Mrs Smokey has found a good place to call home for a while. Well done and fun.."to boot!"

Call me surprised when a friend of mine told me to try a new BBQ place out. "Why do I need a new BBQ place when I can go to ...?" Glad we went to Mrs. Smokeys. Nice charred and smokey meat paired with awesome sauce! Good value Friendly staff

The atmosphere is fun, with the western movie playing, and the train running on the tracks overhead, but the food was just okay. The rib tips I ordered were very dry. But I enjoyed the Scooby Snack! Just might order a little differently next time.

This is my first visit to this location and my 2nd in total. This is a good place with good food. Not my favorite, but I will probably eat here once a year or so. I had the brisket sandwich with mild sauce and Bbq beans. The brisket was lean and fairly flavorful. The beans were on the spicy side, which is not hinted at in the menu, which is a photocopy. The 4 sauces, apparently are all the same basic sauce at varying degrees of spiciness; at leas from the description. I prefer to have more variety in terms of the base (vinegar, mustard, sweet, paprika). The restaurant uses plastic or paper for everything. No glass, metal tableware or plies. Paper plates, styrofoam dishes, plastic forks, etc. Somehow, it bothered me a little. I think the thing that bothered me the most was the fact that EVERY customer, including myself that walked in missed the little tray of black and white, photocopied menus near the front door. That immediately gives some customers the feeling of "how am I supposed to order?" Then, you look around, feeling foolish and discover they were immediately inside the door with no sign or anything. Same kind of thing with the utensils...they were sort of out of the way, so you may have to get up and go all the way to the back to get a fork. Now, they deliver your food to the table, but without napkins or utensils, so you have to look around again. Also, instead of asking your name and making you feel a bit more welcome the assign you a "cowboy name." Mine was Buffalo Bill, I think. What's up with that? It's the customers job to remember their assigned names. Kind of childish I think. So, some kinks to work out. Oh yeah, I sampled the potato salad which was pretty good too onion-y for me.

I haven't been in Florida long but found this place via yelp. Everything I've tried has been great. The fried biscuits are ridiculous! So are the beans. I expect anyone who tries this place will be more than happy with their choice. You can't go wrong with any of it.

Great fried biscuit.... first time trying them... the dry rub was good... not so crazy about the BBQ beans.. but the ribs were good... and the service was great and friendly.... will come again when I am in town....

I loved everything we had. We had 2 different orders with 2 meats each (sausage, choped pork, brisket) and 4 different sides so we actually tasted a little of almost everything. The smoked meats are delish! Tender, juicy, sauced perfectly. The sides, where do I start??! The mac n cheese is homemade and it's obvious. The noodles are not over cooked like pretty much everywhere else I've ever been. The cole slaw was refreshing, crunchy and flavorful. Good cole slaw is few and far between and I found it here. The collards are perfect with lots of bacon. Tots were cooked nice and golden crispy. The sauces are awesome. Mild has a great kick to it. And to top it off, Torpedo!

Wonderful. Very original and deliciously executed. Very quick service and reasonably priced. You will need quite a few napkins and they provide a nifty little hand sink for post barbecue rinsing.

Wow... Some of the best BBQ east of the Mississippi! Enjoyed everything.... Fried biscuits to good to be true. Fast friendly service. Check it out! Sauces are excellent ...

This place is the best! Excellent service, amazing atmosphere, this is my favorite place to come for great BBQ. You can tell they actually smoke the ribs as opposed to boiling them like a lot of places around here. Their sauce is on point and the dry rub is ridiculous!

I am really picky about my BBQ.....maybe because I lived in Austin and San Antonio, TX and have had REAL BBQ. Sadly, these Florida BBQ places just don't cut it (check out my review of Park Avenue BBQ in North Palm Beach). These places say that their meats are smoked. Not. If meat is truly smoked, you will see a definite pink smoke ring around the outside of the cut. The ribs at Mrs. Smokeys were barely fair. I got the dry rub, but it was way too salty. The ribs themselves had way too much fat....a poor quality meat. They were also overcooked. I also ordered the brisket.....but....it came chopped! You have got to be kidding me. When a place chops their meats, they hide junk in them.....like membranous tissue and fat. Yuck. You have to weed through the junk to find a good piece of meat. The BBQ sauce was nasty. Way too much vinegar. I tried to mask the blah flavor of the brisket by dipping it in sauce but that made it worse. One good thing: the baked beans. Nice flavor and texture. I feel bad for those who don't know the difference as they don't know what they are missing. If you want to splurge for the best, you can mail order from the best place in the world: Black's BBQ in Lockhart, TX. You will think you have died and gone to heaven. P.S. I recently moved here from SoCal. If you're ever out there and want fabulous BBQ, Wood Ranch BBQ is THE place!! I wrote to them asking if they'd consider opening up a restaurant here. Fingers crossed!

First of all I didn't get the concept of smoked bbq when ordering. That was my naïveté and inexperience with bbq. I was really disappointed when I ate their pulled chicken sandwich. The meat was not pulled in a traditional way instead they left it as strips. Imo your asking for the meat to fall off the sandwich if you leave strips as long as they did. My bun was soggy and falling apart when my husband came back with the food. The tater tots I had were great! Fried just the way I liked them. I went back and asked for a new sandwich which they obliged to. The manager was really nice to me and helped explain why this bbq was different and why my bun fell apart. I really appreciated that. I'd say you should try it just make sure you know what ur getting. The manager was nice, the tots were good and good customer service. Just not for me.

I guess it has to do with the owner being greedy. High prices, small portions. Ill pass. Also get a clue on what real BBQ is. Keep smothering everything in sauce, yeah that will do the trick. So bad...

I hate to give one star as the staff is great, but the food leaves A LOT to be desired. The flavor wasn't there and nothing seemed to be prepared from scratch. On top of that, $27 for a rack of ribs? Unless they rework that kitchen, I don't see them lasting.

  • Nom N.

I'm giving this place one star only because zero isn't an option... This was my second try at Mrs Smokeys in hopes that the first terrible food was a fluke... Just a suggestion but if you have great smoked meat, drowning it in sauce isn't necessary... This is the worst excuse for a BBQ place I've ever seen. Best of luck to a terrible restaurant with an equally rude staff...

Mrs smokeys rocks, have mostly been to the original in lake park and I like the small location feel but this one is just as good. I've tried random bbq spots in other states and Florida isn't texas or Oklahoma or Kansas City, but mrs smokeys along with 4 rivers in Florida (Orlando) have their special place in my heart (and stomach) The best: I get mild and hot mixed either on the side or on the brisket and pulled pork, the combo of the sauces gives it the right kick and flavor. The baked beans have actual meat and some heat in them which is rare most usually are sweet and taste straight out of a can... These are real baked beans, they taste even better cold out of the fridge. Not joking. My favorite Mac and cheese... That's quite a claim... My favorite, along with j Alexander's famous white Mac which is awesome and velveeta shells and cheese. This sauce is the real deal. Would love some crinkle cut French fries and okra as options to the sides but can't really complain. I prefer the brisket and then the pork and then the ribs, but ribs I like a different way... Think phils bbq in San Diego. But smokeys ribs are legit too if you like them more smokey. Overall this place is good, the local lake park one has a reputation built as the best bbq in the area, the harsh reviews on the new location seem unjustified.

I am updating my review, because in just a short time, this place has gone downhill. The first time I came it was great, second time- meh, third time- meh. Vegetables were canned (obvious from the discoloration), or they were old. Layoff all the Styrofoam. Sure it's cheap, but there are better options,

Nice western theme including cowboy movies playing on the wall from a projector. Friendly, efficient service. That's about the end of the positives for me. The pork and brisket were both chopped. I prefer pulled pork and my brisket sliced pencil thick, not chopped. The mac and cheese was tasty, but not memorable, same with the slaw. I'd say considering Jupiter's lack of good 'que, this is among the best of the worst, but against all of the bbq I've experienced I'd give it a 5 (out of 10).

I'm so glad they opened a location closer to our home! Everything is fresh, tasty and amazing! From the baby back ribs, to the pork, the chicken, the brisket and the chili, to the delicious Mac and cheese, beans, collard greens, potato salad or cole slaw, to the "light" options if you're in the mood for the most delicious apple pecan chicken salad I've tried. Mrs Smokeys is one of our default places to take friends and family visiting to enjoy a good meal. The new location is absolutely gorgeous.

Love this place! The owners are super nice and always smiling. The fried biscuit is amazing. Don't skip the pulled pork and mac and cheese. This new location is awesome! So glad to see a family business succeeding.

The BBQ Queen of Florida has expanded her empire. As far as I could tell the food was identical (which is a good thing) to the Lake Park location and some of the same smiling faces working behind the counter. Great food and great atmosphere in a slightly more convenient location for me. All the BBQ on the menu is good. I know. I've been eating there since Day 1 in Lake Park, but don't be afraid of some of the non-bbq or obscure items. The Chili is amazing, spicy, and award-winning. For a guy who despises most salads, I have to say they are surprisingly filling and delicious. Roughly half the time I visit I order the rib tips. Think of them as porky chicken wings that taste like....ribs. The desserts are all amazing. Every one of them hand-made by the owners with love.

This was my first time here. I've never heard of "Mrs. Smokey's" but I liked it. The decor is clean and cute. In case you haven't tried this restaurant before, it's the kind where you stand in line to order, then they bring it to your table or you pick it up when they call your stage name... yes, you are assigned a "stage name" like, Annie Oakley or John Wayne, IDK. Speaking of ordering, I found it to be a bit complicated. I can't really put my finger on it, but when I asked about certain things on the menu, I was met with many additional questions that just seemed to complicate the simple bbq order, but everyone was nice and accommodating. Now the food. The flavor is great and I'm looking forward to trying different items. The sides are nice as well. I really liked the fried biscuit... it's fried, how could you go wrong? I also had the Mac & cheese, sadly it was lacking, not in flavor, oh my gosh, the flavor was great but the texture... the noodles were very "pasty". Luckily, the Mac & cheese was not the star of the show, the ribs, chicken and brisket are! If you are into smokey flavor, you will love it.

Best BBQ around! Fun atmosphere and perfectly smoked BBQ. Get spicy bbq sauce on the side, it packs a punch!

Brisket is fantastic, but everything else here is so so. I went in at busy time, but the lady behind the register was not very friendly and was impatient with some of my requests. Nicely decorated, but food and staff is mostly so so.

Went to restaurant with my family this week. There was only one high chair and there were 4 families in there. If you are family friendly you need more high chairs. They are $35 each from restaurant depot. Our meal was ruined because of the high chair situation. It's hard to eat with your 16 month old child on your lap.

Just passing by and decided to try it out. A little skeptical about a BBQ place in a shopping center, but I was pleasantly surprised. My husband & I both got the pulled pork sandwich and it was great. I got potato salad & he got baked beans. Will go back if I'm in the area.

Addictive! The food is always delicious and I think that it is a great value for the price! We eat there at least once per week, often getting the family feast so that we have leftovers. We love BBQ and were thrilled to find Mrs. Smokey's. We love it so much that it was the "must have" meal for my fiance's 40th birthday. The owner was phenomenal assisting me with putting together a menu for the party.

Absolutely loved it! Fast service, adorable ambiance and huge portions. Sauce is spicy- watch out! Full rack of ribs is enough for 4 ppl. Loved the fried biscuits, beans, brisket, and Mac n cheese.

I LOVE Mrs. Smokey's! I was a regular at the Lake park location. And now I come up to the Jupiter location. The friendliest and BEST BBQ in town!! The meat and the chicken is juicy and flavorful, and falls off the bone. The sides are all fresh tasting. And oh that fried biscuit!! The sauce has a kick so be careful ordering the hot! We have told so many friends about this place and everyone loves it! And the best part...Mrs. Smokey herself!
