"Mediocre food over-priced" pretty much sums it up. Too many other good hibachi style places around to ever go back.

Great service. Great food. Awesome drinks. Great atmosphere. The cooks were amazing! Very clean.

Quality food, friendly service, competent management. A solid choice for a great meal, and the bar makes some great cocktails! It's a little spendy, but worth the extra pennies if you want to be sure you'll have a great evening. I also hear the Karaoke nights are worth attention. I'm pretty serious about my Karaoke, and I plan on checking it out in the next couple of days. I'll report back.

Service was good, the environment was nice, the food was DELICIOUS! They cooked it in front of you, very fresh.. Quite pricey though!

First, let me day that this is pretty much your typical Japanese steakhouse. You know what to expect, and pretty much all there is to talk about is deviations from the norm. They had a great selection of local and other craft beers. I had the Banana Nut beer, which was tasty. Standard filet and shrimp meal; standard show. The onion soup was nothing special; I've had better. The chef was good. The server - perhaps the owner? Was very friendly and chatted with us for quite some time. I'd certainly come back here the next time I am in town.

Brought a party of 32 here to celebrate the 90th birthday of my dear, sweet, Mother. Good planning & communication ahead of time to secure reservation and relay details & expectations was key to a wonderful evening. Our large party arrived over the course of 1/2 hour as planned. Our pre-assigned tables were ready & waiting, and the service & entertainment began right away. No waiting for drinks, refills, table clearing, or any of our other needs. They were always at hand, courteous, yet not intrusive. The 3 chefs serving our tables worked together to entertain & prepare a delightful meal for everybody and the wait staff was superb. The food was flavorful, delicious, prepared well, and served quickly. A small amount of confusion did ensue with such a large party. A few seat swaps happened so relatives could catch up on current events, but nothing to bother about and the staff took it in stride. Most importantly, Mother was treated with supreme levels of respect and care as she watched her 7 children and their families engage in horseplay and good times. We will be back!!!

Incredible sushi! Great prices and the staff is always friendly. The hibachi side is really fun for birthdays, but definitely try to put in a reservation before coming. Love Hokkaido!

I heard nothing but great things about this establishment, so we made a reservation for 16 people. After and one hour and a half with barely drink service and zero food service. We requested many times to have someone serve drinks at least to the point we resorted to going to the bar in hopes someone would at least accommodate our table. So after waiting forever we decide we are leaving and request to speak to a manager. The waiter told us that the manager won't come to speak with us and when asked why he said he was afraid and still not coming out. Are you serious?!?! What kind of place is this? Never again will I come to this establishment, not to even use the bathroom. On a side note, it's not even season so somebody better get their act together!!!

This place is a lot of fun and offers great service and standard (good quality) hibachi fare at a very good price. The kids had an awesome time. I got a Dragon Roll in addition to the standard hibachi (opting for the steak) and the sushi was very good. Highly recommended, especially for families and/or groups.

"Disappointing" It's rare I take the time to write a negative review unless the experience was truly unacceptable but this case warrants it. I want to preface this review with saying, "I didn't even get to the meal". So, if its the food quality you want to know about, sorry I can't help because I was unable to eat my meal, let me explain. . . Every year for almost the about the last 9 years Abacoa has the Jupiter Beer Festival at Roger Dean Stadium. Great event and myself along with a couple friends have attended most of them. The festival ends at 5 and the area is covered with festival goers looking to eat and soak up the beer. This year was like any other and in an effort to avoid the usual spots like, JJ MUGS and Jumby my party of 5 decided upon Hokkaido. We arrived around 5:30pm and were told it would take about 30 minutes for our party to get a table so we went to the bar to wait. 40 minutes passed and I asked what the deal with the table was, the hostess (who was nice) told me it would be 5 minutes that the table was being cleaned. I left and came back to check again after 10 minutes and was told my a gentlemen behind the hostess that the table was being cleaned and set. So i stepped over to the bar to let my party know we would have a table soon. I waited another 10 minutes and as i walked to the front to ask how much more time was told we were being seated now. None the less, it was another 5 - 10 minutes before we were sat. We were sat with another part y of 3 guys that were at the bar alongside us so I can only guess they were waiting as long as us. Once we were at the table a server came and got our drink orders. We sat for about 15 minutes with no drinks, no waters, no chef, no anything. The guys that were sat at our table with us starting getting impatient and started throwing stuff onto the hot grill and creating a mess. I decided to get up and complain that we had been waiting so long to a manager. A Mr. Kai came and informed me that he would let the chef know and he would be there in 5 minutes. We waited another 10 minutes before our drinks arrived, finally. The waitress herself said she had to go behind the bar to get the drinks and still no waters. As we sat waiting, Mr Kai came over and spoke to the guys on the other side of the table as if they knew each other but still no chef. Soups and Salads arrived and then another 10 minutes later the chef finally showed up. He was visibly and rightfully upset cause he had to clean the grill all over again. As he was preparing the eggs for the rice i was sitting complaining to my neighbor at the other table regarding the lack of service and accountability we received from management and i turned to find the chef gone as well as the other group of guys at our table. I was told by the rest of my party that the chef left pissed cause the guys once again threw something on the hot surface. Soon after, Mr. Kai came out asking what we had done?! He immediately grouped us with the other guys, who by now had walked out, and proceeded to hand me a bill for the drinks we had while waiting for our food. Once he gave me the bill he just walked away without allowing me to discuss it with him. I sent my party out of the restaurant since we were obviously not going to get food, and proceeded to follow Mr. Kai asking for his attention so i could explain that i didn't expect to pay anything considering the ridiculous amount of time i had waited. He got loud and was accusing me of being part of those other guys and then proceeded to tell me how he didn't charge me for the soup and salad. Bottom-line, the management needs to not only be cognizant of the events happening in Abacoa and quote people accurately but also needs to show some professionalism and not assume, at a table that multiple parties sit that all parties are together. No effort was made to compensate me for the 2 hours i wasted in the restaurant nor to apologize for being treated as if we did not deserve the meal. Every restaurant gets busy, but that's when professionalism should shine, not add to the drama. The hostess and waitress were very nice and professional, it was Mr. Kai's lack of understanding in handling the situation that left this reviewer angry enough to spend this amount of time on a review and make sure that others knew Management or whomever Mr. Kai was did anything but deliver on a basic function of a restaurant, customer service.

We went there for my son's birthday on Thursday night. There were roughly 30 people playing Poker in the dining area next to the bar so we sat at Hibachi table. I had Sashimi appetizer ($13) which consist of generous cuts of fresh Tuna, Hamachi & Salmon total of 9 pcs. It was almost twice thicker than most other Sushi joint and it was very fresh. They have many specialty rolls like Lobster roll with live lobster. They use generous amount of fish and the price is very reasonable. Kobe beef was very tender and flavorful. My kids had great time watching chef Ramli do the tricks like throwing egg and catch it with spatula. Servers were very friendly & polite. This place offers not only Hibachi & Sushi but also wide selection of Chinese food too. I will definitely come back for more sushi.

My buddies and I used to spend almost all our Saturday nights at this place since we lived close-by. By "nights" I mean midnight to 2am. Max, the bartender (and later on manager), is such a cool guy. He always found a way to make us happy, even when we wanted to buy entire bottles, sushi boats filled with sake, or enough shots to write the name of the birthday boy on the bar. This place doesn't have anything special but we always had a blast. The drinks are relatively cheap and the (few) people nice and welcoming. Oh as a side note, I met Venus Williams there and even got a ride back from from her. True story.

Incredible! I've tried a lot of things on this menu & nothing has ever failed me. I love going here for birthday parties and participating in the hibachi show. If you're a steak fan, get the filet mignon fried rice hibachi dinner. A++++

Seated ourselves outside on the patio (which is self-seating); the restaurant was only about a third full...sat there for 15 minutes trying to get the server to acknowledge us or offer a menu. After being completely ignored for ~15 minutes got up and walked out. So can't actually comment on the food...

By far the best Japanese resturant in Florida. The entire place is extremely clean, very high quality food, great service, very hospitable management and owners. The sushi is truly a work of art. John is more then a sushi chef he is an artist... If you love mixed drinks, they offer some amazing creations at the bar. I highly recommend Hokkaido if you looking for a memorable dinning experience, and the best quality food for the best price in south Florida. Word of Advice; the bigger your group is the more fun you will have.

Went there with my brother. He got sick from the food and almost died and they didn't offer anything. Other then that the place was great. Hibachi cooks' skills were on point, the staff is friendly and they have bumping karaoke on the weekends.

My husband and I eat her a LOT and I can tell you we have never been disappointed ! The food is good and the atmosphere is awesome. Clean restaurant and good prices for Japanese food. If you think it is expensive then you don't eat Japanese a lot or for that matter eat out in Palm Beach!

This place has a great happy hour, and the people who work there are very welcoming and polite. All sushi is good and made right there in front of you. I go there a couple times a week for a veggie roll and a couple beers.

Had 2 wait 1 hour and 30 minuets for service and after all of that the food was just ok. Service was horrible, only 2 cooks in whole restaurant running around like crazy. None of the normal Hibachi fun stuff the kids like, no Saki for the adults, after $420.00 bill for 10 people , really NOT worth the money. Do yourself a favor and YELP another place, this one not worth it.

As in all Habachi restaurants the chef cooks the meal right in front of you in a vert enteraining fashion. The food was excellent.

Dinner review. Truth be told, I was a little skeptical at first because only one yelper bothered to review this place. I mean, if the place IS good, there would've been more reviews by now even though I was told that this place just recently changed ownership. The hibachi dinner here was delicious and entertaining. The cooking "show" always put a smile on my face because it brings back a lot of good memories from childhood when Benihana's (a Japanese hibachi chain in California) was a "treat" for special occasions. In the spirit of celebrating something special, i.e. moving on to a fabulous new job, this was an awesome fun dinner choice. Dinner was essentially a cooking show with a chef demonstrating flying knives and fireballs, among other settled cooking skills, right in front of you. The highlight was a gigantic fireball on a stack of onion rings, followed by a (soy sauce) volcano that seemed explosive. Be warned that if you have small kids with your party, they might be scared by the sizzling/smoking grill and the fireballs without warning. Quality food. Generous portions. Prompt service. It also helped that I had good company with me for the special festive occasion.

Out of our 4 visits to this restaurant, 2 were really bad one. On friday, we walked and restaurant was empty and the host told us that she will sit us right a way, 10 min later was told that she spoke w her manager and decided that they will not sit us until (the party that had reservation and wasn't even there) their food starts been cooked. Tge host didnt care and couldnt give me any answers. Really poor service by the host. If you ever go ask for Jason to serve you, his great. So we walked out and went to saitos on pga. No wait and friendly service.

We arrived around 8:00 p.m. on Mother's Day (or Mothers Evening I guess) and enjoyed rock star parking (right in front of the restaurant). There were four of us: me, K (adult), K (age 9) and C (age 8). We had no reservations and were seated immediately. Trivia: "Hokkaido" is the name of the second largest of the four main islands of Japan; to the north of Honshu. The restaurant is located in the Abacoa Town Center in Jupiter. The ambiance is festive and the main dinning area is quite large as it houses at least ten hibachi grills with room for eight people at each grill. The menu includes typical Japanese fare but the focal point of Hokkaido is clearly hibachi. Ask for Tiffany as your server, she was prompt friendly and attentive. We ordered some Sake to drink while we looked over the menu. Everyone in our party ordered hibachi and upgraded to the fried rice version. I ordered the chicken, K ordered the Scallops and steak and the kids ordered steak and shrimp. After about 10 minutes Andreas, our Teppanyaki chef (that is the proper name for a hibachi chef) arrived with our food. Bottom line, Andreas was the best Teppanyaki chef I've ever experienced. He created an egg catching game where he flung cooked egg into each diners mouth from his spatula. Most of the people at our hibachi bar, including the kids, were able to catch the egg except one miserable girl who all but refused to participate. The egg hit her in the face three times so I guess she had egg on her face :). Thank goodness she wasn't with us. The food was outstanding. Habachi food is always served hot by nature and the quality of the food was fantastic at Hokkaido. Hibachi is always relatively expensive because of the nature of the preparation, the cost of the equipment and the cost of maintaining the grills in the middle of the dinning room. One good thing is that there is a kid's hibachi menu and the kid's meals were about 1/2 the price of the regular meals. We didn't feel rushed at all. Andreas came out after the meal and snapped some pictures of our party. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I would definately return to Hokkaido and I cannot find any reason to remove a star. I'm probably a little partial because I had a lot of fun that day. Nonetheless it was the best hibachi experience I've ever had.

Just got back from a spectacular meal. Probably the best bargain in the Jupiter area. Service was terrific and the food was first rate. We'll definitely be back.

By far the best hiabachi dinning in south Florida. Our server Dan and the chef Ram provided an excellent atmosphere to enjoy such high quality food.
