Moved to Florida a year ago and this is the first legit place I have found legit Mexican food!!! My favorite is the enchiladas en salsa verde and chicken. Their food is good and a lot on the plate (just like it should be if it's Mexican) my boyfriend has tried the burrito and tacos and those are also amazing. The only thing not so amazing are the prices. I guess for the area they can get away with it but good Mexican food like that needs to be priced reasonably based on my experience. I am Mexican and come from Chicago where there is plenty of delicious Mexican food places all reasonably priced!! Also they don't have margaritas kind of a bummer but they have beer.

My husband and I see this restaurant almost every morning when we go to the gym, and had been wanting to give them a try! My in-laws were in town and in the mood for Mexican, so we headed over to El Burro Loco. I'm still not really sure how to describe the experience because I'm not sure if it was as odd as it felt, or if it was just 'authentic'. We went on Saturday night about 7:00pm. We seemed to be the only non-hispanics there, which was a good sign! There were a few people at the bar and a couple tables full. It appeared that there were just two women working the front of the house and 1 guy in the kitchen. The first thing that threw us off was the blaring music. I have never really thought to complain about music, because well I'm in my twenties and believe in the saying, "if it's too loud, then you're too old!" But the volume of the music was unreal. Mind you, this is a tiny restaurant in a strip mall. They had a DJ set up in the corner and he played good music, but you had to yell in order to have a conversation. We thought this maybe went with the authenticity of the place or that maybe it was Saturday night thing. We didn't complain because everyone else seemed to be enjoying it, but this was for sure a deal breaker for my MIL. Hopefully this isn't something that they have every night. Our waitress let us pick where we wanted to sit and brought out chips and salsa right away. She then took our drink order. As far as alcoholic drinks, they have a wide range of beers, but not much else. They didn't have any liquor, so we were disappointed that we couldn't have margaritas. She said that they had wine, but when we asked what their whites were, she told us their red was a cabernet sauvignon (strange - we didn't ask about red). We did eventually find out that their white was a chardonnay. I wouldn't typically pair a chardonnay with mexican food, so I opted for a diet coke instead. We then ordered our food. The guys got steak and chicken fajitas, my MIL got a salad, and I ordered steak quesadilla. Since we were kind of talking throughout the ordering process, I double checked that I had said steak quesadilla to her because I couldn't remember. We got our drinks and everyone was happy until the small bowl of chips and salsa ran out. Being that our waitress wasn't very busy and was just kind of hanging out at the bar, we gave her some time to check on us (which she didn't), and waited about 10 minutes before we finally had to flag her down for more chips. She never really came back to check on us and I had to flag her down about 10 minutes later for more drinks. It took some time before our food came out, which we're assuming was due to just 1 guy in the kitchen. When our food did come out, she only brought out the fajitas and salad. When she asked if we needed anything else, we asked for my quesadilla (which she said would be out shortly) and for some tortillas for the fajitas. She seemed a bit confused at first, but then said that tortillas would be out in about 3 minutes (ok?). She then went back to the kitchen window (like 30 seconds later) and brought out the tortillas and quesadilla. I'm not sure why she said it would take 3 minutes. When I took a bite of my quesadilla I realized it was chicken, not steak. I had to flag her down again and I asked her how long it would take to make a steak quesadilla. I was hungry at that point and would've ate the chicken quesadilla if it was too much of a hassle. She said she realized it was a chicken quesadilla when she brought it out and thought that it was strange, but for some reason never questioned the cook and never warned me that she knew she was giving me the wrong order. It did only take a couple of minutes to make the correct quesadilla. Again, this seemed strange to us. With all that being said, the food was really really good and the portions were good too! At the end of our meal, our waitress decided to finally show some customer service and talk to us. She said that on Tuesdays they have $1.50 tacos. They also have 2 for 1 drinks all day Monday - Thursday and between 4pm and 7pm Friday - Sunday. I'm assuming she was hoping to get some brownie points for a good tip. Had it been just my husband and I, the experience probably would have been just fine because we really don't count on great customer service; however, my in-laws could not stand the volume of the music and the lack of customer service. It felt as if we were a nuisance to the staff whenever we asked for anything. Again, I'm not sure if we just hit it at a bad time or what the deal was. My husband and I will definitely give them another try to see if this is how it is all the time or not.

In our search for great Mexican a coworker suggested here...come for the guacamole and fubol. We tried a pork and steak taco which were good but both were dry. The fajitas were way over priced and lacked any type of seasoning on the steak. The chips were store bought and the salsa was spicy the first time and mild the second time, good flavor both times. The guacamole was by far the best part of the meal! The waitress was extremely nice and the restaurant was clean with 4 large screen tvs for fubol.

Cute little place in Jupiter. Would never have found it without the help of yelp. Great staff. Wonderful food. The salsa was very different and unique. The chips weren't very good. We got tacos and they were great.

My wife and I are from NJ and are buying a home Jupiter for the winter months. This place is close to our new house. We love Mexican food and we were not disappointed here. Fresh food deliciously made and large portions. A little higher prices than NJ/NYC area.

The steak quesadilla and pork taco were delicious! This is more authentic Mexican food. Don't expect shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato, etc. on your taco. It's prefect with onion and cilantro!

This was 3rd visit here and this time we decided to dine-in, and I am glad we did. Ordering my standard 2 tacos with guacamole, this time we also received salsa with chips and hot sauce. The salsa was very unique - not your typical tomatoey-variety but...you need to try it to see what you think. I thought it was very good and we polished it off. Even though I didn't use the hot sauce, I sampled it and loved the strong cilantro taste it provided. I found out that the cook is from the Chiapas region of Mexico, so items here may a reflect a different taste from other Mexican places in town - which I think is great since there is so much variety in Mexico from region to region.

The Carne Asada was pretty good. I was very disappointed with my son's kids meal. The quesadilla was only cheese with strange looking fries. Kids meal was $10!!!! The steak was really the only thing that stood out in our meals. The sides were average. I did like the Pico de gallo, it had a nice bit of jalapeño spice to it. I would maybe go back to try the tacos other than that we were disappointed.

Pleasantly surprised. I have been here twice and each time the food was great. The true test is my Spanish friend - he loved this place and had beads of sweat running down his face from their sauces. The waitresses are very friendly, especially if you communicate in Spanish. Both times it has been completely empty - once for lunch and once for a late dinner.

Was in town from NY with my girlfriend. She said she wanted authentic Mexican. With all the food in this area it was the first Mexican food that came up. We walked in and it had a relaxed atmosphere. I'm difficult I don't eat veggies. Waitress taking out order had no problem having my food made as I wished. She was polite and very attentive. When the food came.... All was amazing and most important my girl was happy she had her authentic Mexican. We highly recommend to anyone.

Excellent fresh food. Not "gringo" Mexican. Try the steak tacos with a crunchy shell.

Saw the write up in Yelp and decided to try it tonight (Saturday). Went into the restaurant and found it clean, very friendly waitress who explained the menu and the unusual choice of non- alcoholic drinks. Found the prices reasonable and the food excellent I'll be back!

El Palenque has changed its name to Burro Loco Cantina. Yum yum staff nice, good service and very clean. We had the tacos the al pastor and carnitas they we very good and authentic. Best refrained beans I've had in a long time, and being from Texas we have high expectations when it come to authentic Mexican food! Burro Loco Cantina is a must!!

Family and I came here for a quick snack a little after lunch time. The place is very clean however the food was underwhelming. I know authentic Mexican food because I am Mexican, and this did not hit the target. The guacamole is decent. The avocados were fresh however they were overpowered by the huge amount of cilantro. We also ordered the nachos which also lacked in flavor. They use refried beans for the dish but I would suggest adding garlic to the beans to kick the flavor up a notch and chihuahua cheese is used on top. They were a bit skimmpy with the cheese, so another suggestion would be to pump up the amount next time. My nephew asked for a quesadilla but we were told by the waitress " that we only make authentic Mexican food". Again there are a lot of gringos in this area so her simply making a quesadilla should not have been that hard. Overall I will give this place another shot and order something different the second time around

Definitely as good as it gets for rustic, authentic and inexpensive Mexican food! I loved the chicken tacos. Most chicken dishes at Mexican restaurants are overcooked. Not here! The prices were so reasonable! This is sure to be a hit in Jupiter for those looking for great food at a great price! The service was just right although the food was not super fast to come out. It was clear that it was made to order and very fresh! It's located in the same spot as the former Italian pizza place, Camille's. Sorry to see them close (or move?) but loved this new place!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
