Yannis is awesome. The service is friendly, the food is awesome, the prices are decent and they have a soup and salad bar. What more do you want? We came in because we were starving at 3pm and usually we head to The Freezer on Wednesdays for steak night, but it was too early on this day. And boy I'm glad we came! The soup and salad bar made me pretty excited from the start. Fresh lettuce and veggies, a tub of all-i-can-pile-on-my-plate feta cheese, and a bowl of homemade Greek dressing. The creamy vegetable soup was to die for. Oh and it's free with your dinner? HELL YEAH! For dinner I got the Ribeye (Wednesday is steak night here too!) and P got the veal parmesan. The steak was good, my only complaint would be the box mashed potatoes. The veal parmesan was something special though. Three big cuts of veal (didn't taste frozen at all), in a nice crispy batter with super tasty red sauce. And the linguini was al dente, and cooked perfectly. For dessert? Oh you know, just a little BAKLAVA CHEESECAKE. "WHAT?!" Yup, you heard right. And it was damn good too. We'll definitely be back. Definitely in my top three for Homosassa!

They get it. Attentive, helping us out of our car in the rain, server was cheerful, aware and always close. The food was tasty and as good as we've eaten. I watched how they worked together to help a customer get dry. They saw my son was tired and brought him another chair to lay down on. Loved it.

I have driven past this place a hundred times and never stopped now I am sad that i have wasted soo much time we came in twice this week for breakfast and lunch which were both incredible that staff and atmosphere were very nice as well! We will be back for sure!

yes, me thinks not. first and last time for yannis in homosassa. nothing was good. my wife got what looked like a delicious slice of spinach pie on the menu. out came 5 little rectangles of deep fried garbage. incidentally, that's after waiting for 25 minutes. the waitress told us sorry for the wait, but the pie had to be made fresh. we don't microwave. i think they should start. my so called authentic greek salad consisted of veggies,no lettuce,no anchovies,no potatoe salad,(as in authentic greek salads) this salad was a joke. try someplace else.

Though I'm a Tampa Bay boy, I've spent a lot of time in the Crystal River/Homossassa area recently. Yes...I had to double check how to spell Homossassa!! Being in the area, I've dined at Yannis on several occasions and have always left impressed! The menu pays homage to both some traditional Greek dishes as well as American favorites. The two are combined in a Greek Omelet which is my favorite breakfast item with gyro meat and feta cheese. I'm also a fan of their "Greco Press" which is almost like a Gyro and Cuban sandwich colliding! The end result is my basking in the afterglow of a food coma! My favorite dishes though have always been the ones on special. I've had an amazing redfish over rice and a lobster bouillabaisse which stack up to any restaurant near or far. I would definitely recommend asking your server for the list of specials; you won't be disappointed with any of their fresh fish options. Overall, this is my favorite spot for great food when heading into Crystal River. I absolutely recommend in an area starved for good eats you give them a shot!

Flavorful food, friendly service. Nice clean and cheery atmosphere. We got to meet Yanni and tell him how much we enjoyed his food. We were saddened to hear he passed away about a week later.

Okay, to be fair, right off the bat, my girlfriend and I are from Ann Arbor. About 30 minutes away is Detroit, which has "Greek Town." We have eaten a lot of Greek food at Greek Town. Yanni's is NOTHING like what we have experienced over the years. We read the reviews on Yelp and were excited. So maybe our expectation were a bit high. As soon as we say down our worries about the place increased exponentially. First off we noticed they had very few Greek Dishes. I opted for the Moussaka and my girlfriend for the always great, always Greek, Stuffed Manicotti???? because she couldn't find any veggie-friendly Greek options. We ordered the Saganaki, because you can generally judge a Greek Restaurant based on their Saganaki. We told the waitress and went to the salad bar. We were excited for the salad bar because one of these reviewers RAVED about the salad bar. LIES! The salad bar sucked! It was basic and the lettuce was waaaayyy to big to fit in a human-sized mouth. When the server brings Saganaki they say "Opa!" They light the cheese on fire and every server puts their own spin on it. This waitress lit the cheese on fire and in place of Opa! she mumbled 'alright....' under her breath. The next thing she said was "this Saganaki is probably not what you are used to." She told us we had to continually stir it. It was not a fried cheese, it was more like a soup. Bread is another huge part of the Saganaki experience. The bread they gave was one and a half pieces of cold, quartered pita. Needless to say the food was bland, OVERPRICED. The reviews say this is a two-$$ restaurant. In my experience a one-$ restaurant is like a burger joint, where an meal is about $6. Two-$$ the meal is about $10. The vast majority of meals at Yannis are $13-16. The cheapest meal on the menu was $10. We were going to split an entree but the server informed us there was a 'split-plate charge of a few bucks." Don't go into Yannis expecting what we did based on other reviews.

Family owned and operated restaurant, and super nice people. The food is really good, portions were good also. It's a small, clean restaurant. A young man waited on us. He was very kind and took very good care of us. We were shocked at the $1.25 the people at the table next to us left him for a tip. What an insult. This kid stood out as different from most kids today, a genuinely nice kid, so polite. Well, needless to say we tipped him well and he deserved it. We were there for lunch, but looked the dinner menu over. Everything sounded amazing. Yanni walking around from time to time talking with his guests. We feel like they take great pride in their restaurant. Yanni's got such an adorable face and sweet smile. There's no doubt we will be back and I'm sure we won't be disappointed. Once we've had a chance to have dinner here, I'll add that review too. Have been back for breakfast, lunch and dinner a few times. Never disappointing, always delicious. I've figured out that Yanni's wife works there too and she is very sweet. Just a great little place. CLOSED MONDAY AND TUESDAY.........
