We continue to love PIesano's We don't really place any take out orders, we mainly go for their lunch specials which are wonderful. Complimentary garlic rolls, I usually get the 1/2 meatball sub & 1 slice of cheese pizza for $7.99, my wife usually gets the soup & salad for $5.99. We always walk out full and usually carrying left-overs. Service is always consistently excellent. The waiters and waitresses have been there for a while, and all have provided GREAT service. What they need to do (I'd give them 5 stars) is match the Pomodoro's Cafe take-out deal of 2-4-1 pizza's. I can order 1 pizza at Piesano's for $18 and get two at Pomodoro's for $18. Piesano's really doesn't have any good take out specials. They do have specials but not as good as others. facebook.com/pomodorocafe

Piesanos is consistently delicious. We always order an Italian Veggie Pizza and have never been disappointed with the service or the taste! Easily our favorite restaurant in Gainesville (43rd st).

Enjoyed our dinner at Piesanos. I would like to give it 3.5 stars. Wine selection was good and reasonably priced, both my husband and I really liked the glasses we ordered. Got free seasoned rolls before our meal which were soft and fresh, but a bit messy as they had been covered in a salad dressing type sauce. We ordered the eggplant pizza off the menu and it was well prepared with nice crust, good sauce, and cheese. I would not order it again, however as the fried eggplant combined with ricotta was a bit heavy/greasy. Roasted eggplant might have been great on this and the description did not list it as fried. We split a medium pizza and that was a pretty good value for dinner. We had their tiramisu for dessert. This was pretty tasty but topped with artificial tasting whipped cream - which I think it did not need. Overall, I imagine we will be back as there were some other things on the menu we would like to try.

love, love, love Piesanos! It's solid food at fairly decent prices. No, it's not fancy pants. It isn't going to be a revolutionary experience. It's classic, and it's done well. Also, they serve warm rolls with garlicy parmesan crumbled on top, soaked in a tangy vinegar kind of sauce. I don't know exactly what it is but I do know these rolls are enough to make my mouth water just by writing about them!

YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! This place is so good and the service is spot on. Our server was so friendly! The rolls are delicious. I've never had garlic rolls served in italian dressing and I really loved it! Spinach salad was delicious with tons of toppings. Our thin crust pizza was so good we devoured 3 each before even taking a breath. I would come back here in a heartbeat!

Food was okay! I got a personal margarita pizza and it was pretty bad. No flavor at all, and ingredients didn't seem fresh. However my so enjoyed his meat lovers pizza. I probably won't be eating here again.

Came here on a Saturday and had the lunch special of soup or salad, half a meatmall sub, and a slice of cheese pizza for about $9.00. It was a great meal at a very affordable price. The complimentary rolls were really good too. Service was friendly and on point with the drink refills.

Excellent service! The food is delicious and packed with flavor. If you eat in (you should), they give free bread rolls covered in some kind of vinagrette? But it's really savory and convinces me to come back everytime I think about it. The atmosphere is very relaxing and they also have large screens so if you wanted to see a game, you still can. They also have a bar with a wide variety of selections. They serve different beer brands, local swamp head brews, and they have a gluten free option. The lunch special is the main reason I come back here. Theres specials on entrees or they have different combinations for less than $10. They also serve espresso and cappucino which is decent. Not the best I've had but worth getting again. Havent had desserts here yet but thats because I'm so full from the meal that I cant eat anymore. Service is very fast during lunch time (havent come by for dinner yet) and my entrées come out before I even finish my soup! There is a take out option so if you were in a rush, just give them a call ahead! I always come back to this location because of good food and good service. Deserving of 5 stars!

If you're looking for great pizza in Gainesville, look no further. Piesanos is where it's at. Their pizzas are absolutely fantastic. I think it's the cheese - whatever's in there is gold. Thin crust, tasty sauce, and fresh toppings round out the perfect pie. Their complimentary rolls are fantastic, and every appetizer we've tried has been up to par. Personally, I'd recommend the calamari - fried to perfection, not greasy, and not rubbery. To compliment your meal, they've got a full bar and a decent selection of beers (some local) to sip while you dine. If you're dining in, the ambiance is just fine - comfortable seating, polite servers, and there's plenty of space. If you're ordering to-go, it's easy to run inside, grab your pie, and get out - no waiting around for a server to stumble upon you. A year and a half after leaving Gainesville, Piesanos is one of the few things I crave on a very regular basis. Other pizzas just can't compete.

Great food! We have tried many things on the menu and no disappointments yet. The wings are good, the salads are fresh, the entrees are delicious and the pizza is wonderful! The entree portions are generous and they are served with a side salad and roll. Our two favorite pizzas are the Rustica and the Old Fashioned. Great pizza with fresh sauce and perfectly cooked crust. We have not eaten in, so I can't comment on the dining room or wait staff. All the food is excellent, I don't think you will be disappointed!

Brittney was our server and we sat at the tables in the bar. She was very personable:) My husband and I shared the Mediterranean salad and the Rustic Thin Crust Margarita pizza. Everything was so so good!

Best pizza I've had in months. Need one of these back in Iowa. Had excellent service, and the pizza crispy on the bottom and hot and gooey on top. Just like a pizza should be. Wish I could have met the cook for baking tips!

Stayed at the Holiday Inn in the same complex. Pizza was flat out awesome and the selection of craft beers on tap were tremendous. Service was great and highly recommend this place. Right in Midtown Gainesville. I bet on a football Saturday the place will be packed.

Very nice service when we placed a to go order of a large pizza, breadsticks, and salad (large). The pizza (cheese) was cooked perfectly and the breadsticks were phenomenal!! The cheese, the crust (dusted with garlic?), the sauce!! All perfect and that was after a 20 minute drive to the hotel. We saved the salad for tomorrow since there was so much food! Overall a top notch pizza.

Sat at the bar for a quick lunch. Calamari was fishy and it took another 20 minutes for a simple (likely pre-made) salad to come out. If they ever tasted the water that came out of the tap at their restaurant they wouldn't even give it to dogs to drink. Horrible experience between the food and the service.

Pizza is really good and the staff is friendly. We live nearby so we get it frequently and it's always a treat!

Another excellent local pizza place! Though Piesanos has a few locations throughout Gainesville, the Tower Square location is the one I always go to. It's conveniently down the street from my work and right next to Publix, so it's easy to pick up a quick dinner that will always be satisfying. They have great lunch specials on weekdays that last until 4 PM and service is always quick and friendly (though I exclusively get takeout.) Personal pizzas are my favorite, and I've been satisfied with every flavor I've tried. Very flavorful even if you just get cheese! I recently tried one of their pasta specials as well and their chicken parm lunch special comes with a HUGE slab of chicken, enough to split into a second meal, and their delicious garlic rolls drenched in Italian dressing--a bit of a twist on the usual garlic knots found in these restaurants, but huge, filling, and delicious. Soups of the day rotate, but I am in love with their sausage and lentil soup! Altogether, I will definitely keep returning for more delicious food, even if the pricetag is a bit high outside of lunch specials--keeping in mind that most meals can be split into two, it's still a great deal!

Been there just once and absolutely a fan now! Their bruschetta flatbread is amazing (and the size is like a 8 inch pizza). This one is close to home (and there's another one close to work) so I expect to frequent it.

One of my hubby's and my favorite places to eat! The complimentary rolls are so so SO good! The calamari is delicious and all apps are 1/2 off on Tuesdays. We always order a large pizza with meatballs, cabrese peppers (sp?) and fresh garlic. I have had their martinis before and they're pretty good also. Great service and you can eat for around 30 bucks and still have leftovers.

If you are looking for an awesome pizza this is your place. Especially if you like crust to be really thin. This place is great in every way. It is clean, the staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and fast, and the food is unbelievably good. The free rolls in Italian dressing were new to me but I can't describe how good they are! We tried the fried ravioli appetizer, eggplant pizza, straight cheese pizza, and the deluxe. I had a small piece of each and highly recommend the cheese and the deluxe. I have never had such good pizza. The eggplant is good, it is a little lighter on the sauce so I just preferred the others we tried. And that ravioli appetizer was a solid 4/5 too. Like I said, for pizza you cannot go wrong eating here!!!!! I hope to go back to try some of their other items because they look amazing.

Great crust is essential for a great pizza and they have it. We always order for pick up, but the bar and dinning room look nice.

This is my new favorite in Gainesville for Italian after only going once so far...I'm craving them right now. Garlic rolls brought to you are incredible, and have an interesting sauce they're doused in. We came here and each had calzones. Seriously the best calzone I've had in a long, long time. The wood fire oven is obviously the difference. Also they are big enough to split if you want a salad or appetizer. Hoping to try pizza soon, and go in for their mid-week happy hour specials. The bar area isn't too big, but the restaurant is open and comfy. A fantastic Italian spot not to be missed.

The pizza is to die for just like New York City. The garlic rolls are very good. The decor and atmosphere in the restaurant is very welcoming and clean. The calzones are amazing and so is the white pizza. I absolutely love the brick oven fired pizza crust very good!

Wow, who knew Gainesville had such delicious and affordable Italian? We came in with a party of 6 and were seated immediately. The interior is fancy enough for a date, but not too fancy for a family outing. Overall, very pleasant. We started out a round of pepperoni rolls and oh my, were those delicious! Think egg roll, but fluffy and filled with mozzarella and pepperoni. The marinara it came with was absolutely delicious: the kind of sauce that makes you realize all the marinara you've had in recent memory was garbage. Most of us got salads, and they were just ok, nothing special. I was kind of disappointed that they're croutons are not homemade, especially considering that everything else was so good. Everyone was quite pleased with their entrees, and you really can't beat the price! Definitely shareable portions, pretty sure we all got take home boxes. I had the chicken parmesan; everything about it was perfect. The service was also exemplary; one of the dinners was brought out by the manager, and he explained that it might be a little too browned, and if we didn't like to please let him know (there was another in the oven, just in case). It tasted fine and we were all very impressed by the care taken to make sure we were all happy with our food. It's clear that they care about their product. Can't wait to return; as I said I only wish that they made their own croutons (hence why 4 stars and not 5). It should be fairly easy in a place that makes a lot of bread.

Came to Piesanos having heard nothing but good things in regards to the quality and figured I was in the mood for a good slice of pie. Did not disappoint. Service Came in around 7:00 Friday expecting they would be busy. The hostess gave a wait time of about 20 minutes and ~15 minutes later my group of 3 was seated. The waitress was pleasant and prompt in delivering our drink orders and a heaping basket of parmesan-coated, sauce-drenched rolls to munch on while we decided on our order. The table was clean and she was was totally attentive throughout the entire meal clearing dishes and refilling our beverages as needed. Food The free bread mentioned previously was definitely a valuable asset, especially given the fact that our party ordered a pizza and cook times on those can always be lengthy. I was hungry when I arrived and the rolls 100% did the trick of restoring my stomach's patience. My group also decided to split a large Caesar, which I didn't find particularly noteworthy. Standard preparation, standard croutons, and a modest dressing. The pizza, however, was definitely great. We ordered their Soppressata Calabrese (Fresh mozzarella, soppressata [for those who speak english: dry italian salami], fresh garlic, pizza sauce, olive oil & spicy calabrese peppers), but unfortunately they informed us they started making the pizza using a more traditional salami. I give them kudos for not hiding that they shifted the selection what I would consider down a notch, but still...setting expectations via the menu and not following through losses points for me. Aside from that, though, I will say the pizza was quite tasty, with a heat that blended quite well with the flavors of cheese, sauce and salty meat. Quite a savory pie that I will be happy to nibble on for lunch tomorrow Final Thoughts Price is a tad high, but they deliver food, quality, and service in many ways that other restaurants more accustomed to college-age patrons simply do not. A great place to bring a party of 4 if you're in the mood to split a pizza and a large salad while still getting to leave paying only ~10 bucks (with a decent tip).

I would highly recommended this place, the food is excellent, great atmosphere, giant pizza they have 2 locations now one on 43rd one on Archer and I believe they are putting one in on University. Definitely try this place!

Tried the Piesano Supreme. The pizza was delicious! The crust was simply awesome. The garlic rolls comes doused in a balsamic vinaigrette butter which is unusually good. The service was impeccable as well.

I always enjoy going here. It's very quite, small, and our server always seems to be on point. I have been here several times and each time our entrees come out great. I also really enjoy their raspberry dressing! My husband LOVES the complimentary rolls!

We used to be Big Lou fans until they stopped delivering to us, so we tried Piesanos. Needless to say we won't be going back to Lous anytime soon. Piesanos white pizza with bacon and onion was amazing! I have lived here 38 yrs and this is the best pie in town! Like Leonard's used to be in the 90's..

Outstanding!! We've been to both of their locations, and luckily for us live close to the one on Archer Road where there's never any wait! Same wonderful food!! Bonanza for us!! Start out with their sinfully good garlic rolls... O.M.G.!! Just do it - Live a little - you'll be SO glad you did. I enjoy their summer salad frequently, and all of their pizzas are top notch. Definitely want to try the other things on their menu, but as often as we go (at least once a week), we just haven't had our fill of the pizza, garlic rolls and salad. Consistent, attentive service. 5 stars, and then some. A neighborhood gem.

Great pizza and garlic cheese knots! I usually get take-out and the food is always ready in 20 minutes or less.

I was surprised to see such a lower rating on this place. No, it's not Mark's or Sabore ....it's pizza for gosh sakes. Piesanos is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Great salads and great pizzas and kid friendly without being romper room. Love the meatball ricotta pizza and the Greek salad. The rolls are amazing. Service is fast. Full bar. Winning.

I love the fact that now there's a second location. This is by far the BEST Italian food in Gainesville! If you haven't been here, you're missing out. The service is great and the food is incredible. You have to try the chicken parm or one of their pizzas!

The food is great here and the only reason I return. The service the passed two times has been sub-par

We ordered wings and pizza to-go this evening and really didn't like it too much at all. The wing flavor was kind of bland, the pizza was cold (even though we showed up on time) and the pizza didn't really taste that good (bacon was soggy, cheese was chewy--not in a good way, and crust was decent). In fact, I'd probably prefer pizza at almost any other place. We heard some great things about this place and were excited that we had one so close to home, but now we probably won't go back. It does have a nice decor, ambiance and friendly staff though!

Best Pizza in Gainesville! No question. I've been everywhere that pizza is known for being the best, even Italy.

We are so lucky to have a Piesanos location within walking distance of our house! This location has a nice to-go entrance and counter as well, so you do not have to enter the dining area just to pick up your order. As soon as we walked in there is a huge flatscreen TV on. My dining partner said, "Oh, no! It's a sports bar!" But, it was not that loud and our booth was quite comfortable. Considering the location used to be a video store, they did a great job with the transformation. I was here the first night that they opened, and there were already plenty of customers. We ordered the Margherita Pizza and a Calamari appetizer. Love the pizza here, but I would order a different appetizer next time. The complimentary bread service is always great- the rolls are crusty and soft inside. However, I am still not adjusting to the salad dressing on top. For dessert we had the plain cheesecake and the large canolli. Both were decent. I recommend that they make a dessert menu with prices and post it somewhere for the customers to read. The food was a little pricey, but there are no other pizza places this good in the neighborhood yet.

It still shocks me that the 43rd street location will always have a line out the door and I can walk right in and sit down at the Archer Rd store. Same food, same ambiance, same good staff, and friendly managers...no wait. Favorites: 1) Blackened chicken pasta 2) Baked Ziti 3) Spinach, Tomato, pesto pizza Big fan of the bar too. I stop in for lunch from time to time and get one of the lunch deals. Can't go wrong here.
