I had several bad experiences with the place. In my first couple visits, I was only going there for the bottomless coffee to study for my exams since the place is open 24hours. As a person who prefers to cook at home and eat only fish and vegetarian outside, I ordered a vegie omelette which (I realized while eating) had bacon in it. When we asked the waitress to take it back she was pretending as if it was not important at all. I could be a real vegetarian and she could have ruined everything for me. At another time, with more caution, my friend ordered a soup and she had the same problem, wrong soup to the wrong person. Again, the waitress could not care less. I do not recommend this place to anyone out there and urge anyone who plans to dine or have breakfast to double-check anything they will have!

I'm not sure why I continue to go to Perkins for breakfast.... nostalgia, maybe? We drove around Gainesville early Saturday morning trying to find the "right" breakfast spot... but we never found it and ended up settling on Perkins. Even though it's usually packed, the wait is never very long. The food is whatevery and you kind of have to put aside any penchant for cleanliness... It's just a bit sketch. I ordered a latte... I got a iced latte... apparently, they don't have hot lattes? I'm not sure how that works. I've only had one mammoth muffin from their bakery and it wasn't particularly memorable -- but I hear the bakery is good?

Chicken fried steak was from the freezer, mashed potatoes out of a box, and horrible service. Wish I wouldn't have stopped and went to a different place.

Food is decidedly average. Wait staff is nice and well meaning, but I've had problems with my orders many times. Last time I visited, I got shrimp cocktail sauce with my mozzarella sticks instead of marinara. Also, I had to ask for my hot chocolate three times before it was brought out at the end of my meal. I've had some okay visits too though, which bring it to about two stars. Overall, nothing special, but they do serve breakfast all day, so it's good for the times when you're craving breakfast food late in the day.

Quick (I'm talking ten min wait at noon on valentines day) seating. Quick food quick check, you might feel a little rushed but you don't go here to hang out and relax. You go for the good cheap hearty American food and their bakery is divine. It's no neighborhood bakery but their selection is delicious. I love the smell!

This place was great. Went in for breakfast and were seated immediately. Service was good and the food came out really fast for how busy they were. I love a place that gives you a pot of coffee on your table. The omelette was the perfect size. Not like Ihop where they put pancake batter in it, thats too much. It was my first time ever at a Perkin's and the muffins were enough to make me want to go back again real soon.

The people are very nice and kind but service is pretty slow if you catch them on a night with more that 3 tables to wait. The food is way better than Waffle House with big portions. But like I said they are very nice so that's why they get 4 stars....and good milkshakes!

Worst service I've ever had. Period. I waited 45 min and got no food and it was not busy. We asked the manager what the wait was and she walked away. Poor poor management. Would not recommend. Ever.

Extreme disappointment. We stopped around 5:30 am. There was 1 other person in the restaurant. It took about 5 minutes to chase someone down to seat us. They had rock music BLARING. Since we weren't ready to order the second she seated us, she then waited about 15 minutes to come back. Ordered oatmeal and a small pancake breakfast. About 10 minutes later she reports they have no oatmeal. I don't know why this took so long to figure out. I'm glad this place is far from home because I'll never have to worry about going there again.

Had a bit of difficulty getting served, as they were rather busy at 1 PM on a Sunday. I don't think they had enough servers working. They were friendly, and the food was okay. Nothing spectacular.

Service unnaturally slow. Took an hour to get food after ordering. Dropped off the check saying "No rush." That's obvious.

This place needs to lose it's franchise. It took 45 minutes to get hamburgers. No silverware. Asked twice. Never got any. I am writing to their corporate office to let them know what a disaster this restaurant is. It is unfortunate that i can not give them zero stars.

Bad service, after work I decided to stop by a have dinner but every time I come this place they take for ever to help me or have me a table, this the third time that I've experienced this crap, tonight was the last time I tried to get service I was standing for about 10 minutes and nobody approached me to provide me service the old lady (waitress) was just talking with I think is the cook in the kitchen entrance what really upset me is that both of them saw me and they kept talking when I finally I thought she was coming to help me she stop by a table with customers and she start talking with them and then she went back to the kitchen from that point I just left this place it's sad to had people with lack of customer service working in a food service place that in the end hurts the owner pocket. Food is good Service very poor July 3. 1:31am

I hadn't been to Perkins in years. We were hungry and everywhere else nearby was closed. The reviewer who said it's just like Denny's is just plain wrong. This place makes Denny's look amazing! As you enter, the smell of disinfectant hits you, then further in, the smell becomes old coconut oil and dampness, possibly carpet. By then we should've known. I gave it 1 star for being open late (24/7), and a 2nd star for the polite greeter, who also noticed after leading us to a table, that it wasn't cleaned properly so quickly wiped it down himself. I ordered French toast (not the platter), a slice of pie for hubby (pre-made) and our daughter had country fried steak. It took very long, though the order was simple and there were very few people. The hot water for my tea was a pale yellow!! (pic) Uggh. I told the waiter, who didn't apologize, but finally did so later on when he brought the bill (hmm). I couldn't bring myself to have hot tea again, but they did remove it from the bill. French toast was burnt on 1 side (pic) and very dry (stale) inside. Well, now I can see why the chain is going (or has gone) belly up. At a time when all-day Breakfast is the trend and demand is high, I can't understand why they couldn't see their own potential. Ok, so the decor is outdated but at least be clean and don't serve yellow water or burnt bread. Needless to say, I will never see the inside of another Perkins.

I remember this place from when I was younger! They don't have any in south Florida any more. Had breakfast here and got a pancake, eggs, and hash browns! All was super amazing! This place was packed, they are open 24 hours and had a sign up for late middle night customers 1/2 off menu. Thought that was pretty cool. Service was okay a little bit slow, but I assume because it was so busy! Reminds of Denny's but more of an upgrade! Food was great, will def be back when I find one in my travels about!

We stopped in for a late lunch on our long drive home. Everyone was very friendly and the service was fast. Our waitress even offered to get is refills to go when it was time to leave. The food was good, my wife got shrimp and I got an omelet. I thought it was a great place to stop and relax a little.

Service was really slow. Food was not fresh. Everything tasted pre-made/frozen. Saw a roach crawl across the wall while sitting at the table eating!

Sunday breakfest: We've been here about 3 times total. They have always been during peak hours. I feel that the over all service is great, and pretty fast. By no means is the food to "die" for, but the quality/quantity that they present given the volume and speed with which they do it with is pretty darn good. I also wouldnt say that this is a place where you'll come to relax given how busy they are, but I have gladly never felt rushed either. The food is well priced and the service is always friendly. Unfortunately have never tried the bakery delights. Taste buds and stomach to full on check out to buy anything else! :)

Breakfast 24/7. What more could you want? Fast service -- too fast sometimes -- ever feel like you're being pushed out the door? Non-breakfast items aren't so special.

Good breakfast, and you can get it 24/7. You even get a whole pot of coffee for the table (yeah, it's so they don't have to check up on you, but so what). Pretty much everything on the non-breakfast menu is fried.

Haha, whenever we can't decide where to go in our mini-group, this happens to be the place we all fall back on. Breakfast all the time - who woudlt' want some? Very much like a Denny's location. We frequent the place due to the special memories this chain holds in our hearts from the clw location. Service can be a bit slow, but not bad. Beware, there's always quite a wait on weekends for breakfast. Conveniently located near Newberry mall and I-75.
