If you live in Gainesville, you've probably made up your mind one way or another about Mochi - you either love or hate the exotic flavors (coconilla, tarot, strawberry shortcake, red velvet, eggnog, etc) and you love or hate frozen yogurt. For those who love, here's a tip that not everyone may know: if you're paying the $0.45 / ounce, you're paying too much. Every now and then there are coupons in the various magazines (Mint, Alligator, etc.) where the first four ounces are free. Other times, there are various promotions that you need to keep your ears open for on the radio stations. Walking in and saying things like "I heard about you on Kiss One-Oh-Five", or "Beat Alabama" can get you anywhere from $1.00 to %50 off. Check out their Facebook page for updates on deals and developments, or ask around. Also, just want to complement Mochi on being surprisingly clean - self-serve can be a mess, yet there is a dedicated worker or two sweeping the area, throwing out the raspberry that fell in the cookie dough bin, etc. My biggest knock is that the self-serve can be a bit hectic - people cut in and out of lines getting free samples; people getting toppings can really slow things down too. By and large the service is friendly; I read Shara's review below and found it alarming. Hopefully that was a one time occurrence though I'll add an update if I ever come across something like that.

Mochi is the best frozen yogurt place. I am not a fan of the the flavor of yogurt, and most of their flavors are smooth and creamy without that tart sour taste yogurt often has. Mochi does the best job of any of having the toppings, especially the fruit, looking fresh and just chopped. The employees are constantly cleaning up and keeping things looking great. I recommend all the locations, and wish there was a Mochi near my home.

I love this place due to its convenient location, and I like the froyo as well. I wish they had more variety of flavors, however. The people working there are always very nice and offer a sample cup as soon as you walk in! The fact that you can eat outside as well is a nice touch.

I figured out something. I shouldn't really get cookie dough toppings from here. They actually taste weird. I miss the double fudge toppings...they were my favorite!

Not sure why everyone is obsessed with Mochi. The yogurts tastes like soured milk. I would rather go to gator d'lites.

Mochi does not honor the Entertainment Book coupons that state in writing with their address listed on them. The girl advised that they are not a Mymochi franchise and laughed when she looked down at her apron, which has that same name and emblem as the coupon on it and said "I know our aprons say it but were not". I was completely appalled and disgusted at the lack of service and confusion. I will not only never visit any of their stores again but will make sure I advise others not to as well.

I love Mochi. That being said, I have some advice. My girlfriend and I went to Mochi. We purchased two froyos, one for me and one for her. Each was over 8 oz. I paid for both but we used her full stamp card to get a free 4.5 oz. I asked if I could get a stamp for my card and was told no because we used a stamp card to help pay for it. I asked if I had paid for the froyos separately, would I be able to get a stamp and the girl said yes. That's obviously ridiculous, so if you want to get your stamp, pay separately.

Good, creamy yogurt. Excellent flavor choices. Good tasters available. Don't like places that are tight with these. Good toppings. Clean place. Passes the frozen yogurt test.

Mochi is good but you must first understand that the price is not per cup but rather per ounce. A friend of mine grabbed the largest cup on his first visit and filled it full of the fro-yo and then stuffed the last little space with the toppings. When he got up there to pay he found out that the price was per ounce not cup and ended up spending about 8.00 dollars on his fro-yo. The flavors are pretty good although some venture out too far for my taste buds. Ask for a couple sample cups so that you can taste the flavors before deciding which you want. They have many different toppings after getting your fro-yo. There is everything from fresh fruit to chocolate pieces to whatever a Mochi is. Love being able to go here and get just a little or a lot depending on what mood I am in. One thing that I do not like is that it can be expensive here if you don't pay attention. Make sure to bring a coupon and get the frequent purchase punch card to save some extra money when possible.

Honestly don't have a single complaint about this place. I've probably been there 50 times in the past 9 months and that place is always busy. No joke. Somehow they are even busy when it was 30 degrees outside on cold winter evenings. I think what sets them apart from the other places is their customer service. The employees ALWAYS greet you with a big smile and always are happy to be at work. This is not the case with many of the other establishments in the midtown area. And I don't want to hear how they're only busy because they have a great location. Ben & Jerry's(the business they took the place of) was never as busy as Mochi. I admit they have a great location but they truly put forth a great product with great service. Keep doing what you're doing!

The third (and likely to be the most popular) Mochi has opened up in Gainesville. Its still the yummy mochi it has always been. The toppings are still fresh, the yogurt is still just right, not too tart, not too sweet. They just opened up so they don't have the mochi ice cream balls yet, and theres a whole 'bathroom key' issue going on, but I'm sure they'll fix it soon. I love it. But to be honest, the froyo market in gainesville feels oversaturated. And secretly, sometimes I want ice cream, and not froyo, even if the concept and atmosphere is very trendy. If you're a novice to mochi, I suggest you try it asap.

I am probably not the best person to review fro-yo spots because I am partial to YogurtLand (in Vegas & L.A.) and of course Pinkberry.... But Mochi is pretty decent, especially if they have the Mochi pieces for topping. Other than that, I do not have anything else to comment on!

I have an obsession with all things frozen and if you were so bored to read my reviews of all things frozen in St Louis -- you would know that fro yo is hit or miss for me !! I love the tart but it has to be creamy and Mochi's was .... tart, raspberry and coconut mixed together with sno caps, choc chips and blackberries -- super yummy mid day house hunting break snack.

Yes, I was a novice to mochi before this visit and I was very pleased. I'm not much of an ice cream or frozen yogurt person... but this place is really good!! They make the yogurt on the store and have a huge selection of creative toppings... kiwi, cookies and cream hersheys candy... the list goes on. Def worth a visit day or night.

Stopped by this Mochi location the other night. I love the cute interior of the store with the pastel colored furniture. It's such a convient location too! In between class or if you just need a quick snack in between bar hopping in midtown, Mochi is in the perfect location. I love Mochi's fruit compared to other places. I feel like it's fresh and the colors look nice. Other places in Gainesville, the fruit toppings seem to be a bit wilted and previously frozen. My favorite topping is the mini rainbow gummy bears!! They have a tropical taste compared to usual gummies. It pairs well with the fruit flavored frozen yogurts. My only complaint about this place is that they never seem to have the Blue Razz flavored yogurt, when I go. That's my favorite flavor out of all Mochi's yogurts.

I love Mochi! I love the unique flavors that they have available along with some new twists on old flavors (mango/strawberry is awesome). I also love that you can build your own sundae. So nice to not have to scream your order over loud music or screaming children.
