I'm so sad to give this place a low rating, but it must be done. Working in the area, I was a regular -- stopping by for lunch at 3-4 times a week... There food was always very good and the prices very reasonable. But alas, I've stopped going and here's why: (1) Within the last month, the quality has just tanked. They're buying cheap products. They're pizza, strombolis and colzones we're never greay....now grease flows off their food like a river -- a sign of a cheap, sub-par product. (2) At the same time, they jacked up all the prices. Lunch Special used to be $4.95, up to $5.95 -- for lessor quality. So sad and does not make any sense! They had a good business, the place was always packed at lunch...not anymore The beginning of the end is in sight :(

I grew up as a little kid in NY and New Haven (infamous clam pizzas). So I am pretty picky with pizza. Okay, that is a lie.... You know what they say, pizza is like...... No matter how bad it is, it's still good. I do know good pizza though. If you have never been here before, it is typical mom and pop pizza joint crammed into a "white box" as they call it in the retail industry. The advantage is an outdoor courtyard area. Pizza by the slice, Stromboli and pepperoni rolls are sitting behind plastic shields calling your name. The walls are plastered with pictures of famous NY sites. The staff are really friendly and eager. I have been here a few times and had the same good, order at the counter, service. Now what matters. I ordered pepperoni rolls and a pizza. The pepperoni rolls looked like croissants filled with pepperoni and cheese. They lacked a garlic butter that would serve them well. I have had their excellent garlic rolls on a previous occasion, and prefer them. Pizza..... The crust is excellent and has a rich, yeasty flavor to it. Nice and thin. Sauce was not as plentiful as I would like, cheese was high quality. So there are two reasons why we lost a star(5 star pizza ratings are reserved for my hometown clam pizzas only). It completely lacked salt in the cheese or sauce, we actually had to salt our pizza. It was actually quite good with some added, but it seems that they are catering to the high BP, heart disease crowd. This is forgivable to me, as I easily fixed it and popped a lisinopril. The unforgivable was the use of canned mushrooms. Seriously?!? We actually took off the mushrooms and the pizza tasted better without them. I paid $2 for canned mushrooms that were left on our plates..... With salt added and canned mushrooms removed, it is one of the better Gainesville pizzas.

This is my to go pizza place in Gainesville! The pizzas here are really good (especially their specialties). You can order whole pies or slices that are really big.The crust is nice and crispy while the toppings are fresh! I lived in queens new york for awhile and this pizza is the closest I've had that is similar. The staff is always smiling and the owner makes small talk and ensures everyone is happy. Not only are the pizzas good but their entrées are also on point; I really enjoy their eggplant parmesan entree and I leave full. They sometimes have written down entree specials and I give those a go and I have yet to be disappointed. The calzones are really greasy but full of flavor. But, lets be honest, you wrap up three types of meat that have a lot of fat in it anyways and you bake it; of course theres gonna be a lot of oil because thats just how the ingredients are naturally! Id be more afraid if it wasnt oily. I just tilt it and so some of the oil will drip out. That being said, some reviews complain about the pizzas being too oily but again, you have cheese and meats that make oil so no surprise it might be oily. If its too oily, you can use their unlimited ultra special napkins to pat out the oil! Did I mention it was unlimited!?!? They even have a punch card rewards program that you ask for free. What other pizzeria does that? All in all, this a place for really good pizza and other dishes. I gave a 4 star only because inside is really small if you want to eat in but there is a really nice patio area if the weather is nice.

The pizza here is tasty. The inside eating area is like eating in a hallway it's so narrow and confined. The patio is nice when the weather is cool. The staff is always friendly and quick.

Best pizza in Gainesville. We miss it so much since we moved out of Haile Plantation! Thin crust New York style...love it.

Good solid pizza that my whole family enjoys. Try the grandma's pizza for a great, fresh tasting sauce. They will add whatever toppings you want. I agree with others that the inside eating area is like a hallway, which is the reason that we always get our items to go. I don't recommend the wings. Whoever was cutting the wings didn't know what they were doing. They were greasy and overcooked. We haven't tried the entrees so I can't comment on those. This is our go to pizza place when we want a good pie.

My coworkers and I go here a few times a month. Everyone at the restaurant is so nice. They have all different kinds of pizza and it is huge! There specials are amazing and they have a different one every day.

My husband and I were in town visiting Gainesville and came across a groupon for this pizza place. The portion sizes were on the larger side and the prices were reasonable. We ordered a slice of pizza and a meat calzone. Everything tasted great. The only reason they are getting a 4 out of 5 from me is because they were all out of the slice of pizza my husband wanted so he had to pick something else. The inside of this establishment is a little small but they have a very nice outside seating area to enjoy your food. I believe I met the owner and he was very kind and wanted to make sure everything tasted great and that we were enjoying our food. If we are ever visiting that area and are craving pizza, I would definitely return.

After living in NYC, it is difficult to find good pizza in Florida. The pizza here reminds me of the pizza I would buy as a college student on the lower east side. The Monday special reminds me of the great prices too. Love this place.

I feel so sad to write this but had them deliver our food and when it got here is was all cold. Then they forgot our main Pizza and that was Luke warm. I had the Antipasto Salad and it had the ends of carrots!!! The gross part that you cut, yeah was not very good. We ordered a lot food and Once everything was heated up it tasted pretty good. Paid way too much for cold food. Will never do that again.

Best pizza in Gainesville hands down. There are some places that get lots of hype but this place crushes them all. All I get is a plain cheese pizza-hits the spot every time. Crust is thin, slightly chewy, not oversauced. Reminds of the pizza I used to get in my hometown that was made by a local Sicilian family.

I used to come here on Friday's for their lunch specials!!! I love their tomato sauce here it is so good and you can taste that it is homemade. I love their regular NY style cheese pizza but when I come on Friday's I usually get my eggplant rollatini. Just imagine eggplant parmigiana but rolled into a pinwheel stuffed with spinach, cheese and don't forget the HAM. Then a few ladle of the fantasmica homemade tomato sauce baked until bubbley *OH MAN HEAVEN!* man writting this review makes me drool i miss it so much. =*( Did i mention the price is affordable since its a special they take 10-20% discount I forget but make sure to come on Fridays because is discounted entrees. MUST TRY if you are ever in Gainesville!!

We've had pizza twice from here, and can honestly say that after trying three other pizza places in Gainesville, this one wins by a mile. Consistently cheesy, fresh and delicious, with just the right amount of garlic! And the garlic rolls are sent from heaven above -- dripping with garlic and oil and absolutely sinful... don't eat too many! Another favorite is the spaghetti with meat sauce -- chunks of meatballs cut up in a delicious, fresh, tomato-y sauce that makes this pasta dish a complete meal in itself. Salads are a wonderful mix of different types of greens, and fresh, fresh, fresh -- just the way a salad should be! Oh, and did I mention the staff?? Each time we've picked up our take-out order, the staff is smiling, friendly and overly attentive!! The tables are always filled with happy customers, busily scarfing down their own obviously delicious meals. Really, you can't ask for anything more, right??

Although I don't hail from the Big Apple, I've been there plenty of times and have had the opportunity to try real New York pizza. Unlike some, I do like my pizza thin and greasy, although those are not prerequisites for a great pizza. The pizza and crust from I Love New York was not overly greasy or flimsy, and had ample cheese ( I hate when places skimp on the cheese!) The person who took our order was friendly, and even pointed out that it was better (i.e. cheaper) for me to order the daily special than what I originally wanted, since I ended up with a bigger sized pie. The place wasn't busy, but my boyfriend and I arrived after 8 on a weeknight. We sat outside where the atmosphere was relatively quiet at that time. We had to wait for our 2 pizzas, which is understandable, but our garlic knots were forgotten about, and we were almost done eating by the time they arrived. Plus, my boyfriend had to go back inside to inquire what happened to them. Overall, I think the pizza is a great value for the price, and tastes like the NY pizza I'm used to eating both in NY and in Los Angeles. I haven't tried all the pizza places in Gainesville, but I plan on coming back to this one!

Best pizza in Gville in my humble opinion. Reminds me of a place in Brooklyn.
