This is a quick review to second Aqua J.'s experience. The food I've had here has been great, but both times I've come to this location, I've had to listen to employees being reprimanded and borderline demeaned in front of me. I have no idea if the person doing this is their manager, but given the way he talks to them I assume he's in a managerial position. The treatment isn't even the kind of thing that I think is fair for employees to receive in the back away from customers. It's made me feel pretty uncomfortable, and feeling sorry for the people that work here. The food is good, the staff is great (and patient), but the toxic atmosphere created by one individual demeaning the employees is ruining the experience for both the customer and I imagine the employees as well.

Good, fresh hippy food. Staff has been nice when I've been there. Sandwiches and smoothies and whatnot. Small servings, but tasty.

Fantastic food. Fresh, GREAT vegetarian options. It has 4 stars because service is so slow. Even with the restaurant half full, it took 45 minutes to get our food.

we atopped for a quick bite for lunch. Great cafe with lots of healthy options. We loved the tuna apple melt croissant with side of pasta. The sweet potatoes chips were delicious and generous portion of fruit we ordered on the side. Great staff. Lots of options

Visited this location for lunch with my college age daughter today. Our Caribbean wrap and pesto pasta salad were very tasty. Everything was fresh. Our problem and reason for never returning would be the attitude of the man overseeing the food orders. He was beyond rude to the staff cooking. And did this loudly enough for all patrons to hear. Sorry but that's no atmosphere to be spending our lunchtime in.

Salads are excellent! Will have to come back again. Very nice atmosphere. Serve coke products. They have sweet and unsweetened tea. Sweet water coffee is also available. Very nice place.

Good sandwiches made fresh and of generous size--just like their downtown location. Unlike downtown, alas, they don't offer their world-class smoothies at this location, but they do have the salads and sandwiches. The space is ample and welcoming and the staff friendly and, probably more importantly, speedy in making the sandwiches. In a realm of mainly chain restaurants except for places like Ichiban Sushi, the northwest really needed a quality, fast, home-grown sandwich shop like this so I'm very glad to see Harvest Thyme set up shop off 39th.

Great food and a friendly staff. They have a kids menu that is great. We are new to the area and they really made us feel at home.

OhMyGoodness where have I been??? Hard to believe this place has been right down the road from our neighborhood and we've never eaten here!!! Until TODAY!!!! Well, we were trying to think of a good place to have a great meal in NW Gainesville but were bored with the same old places. We decided to try this place since it would be a new experience for all 3 of us. As we entered, the menu is on the large wall behind the counter, and it was fun to read!! So many choices, how do people decide on just ONE???? We all got something different, and I'm so glad! Everything we ordered was extremely fresh, made to order, and DELISH!!! Our group had soups/sandwiches/fruit salad/pasta salad and every single bite was amazing! I had the freshly made albacore tuna on a croissant with lettuce/tomatoes/sprouts/sliced green apples and cheese. I'd compare it to a masterpiece. The side I chose was fruit and it was also very good/fresh. My husband chose the Monterey Chicken Sandwich on fresh bread which he loved and said he would order it again in a heartbeat, he had one of the soups that my daughter immediately took as her own it was so good! My daughter ordered the Apple wood bacon turkey BLT or something like that. Since she ate almost ALL of her Daddy's soup, she could only finish 1/2 of her huge sandwich so she can't wait for dinner as we promised her she could have it tonight. Her side was pasta salad and I was surprised because she usually wont eat pasta salad. Well, she didn't care to share ANY of it with us! There's a first time for everything! It may have been our first trip to Harvest Thyme Café, but I can promise you, it will NOT be our last!!! We're thinking tomorrow would be a great day for it!! :). Oh, a side note: they deliver for no fee!!!! All over Gainesville!!! No kidding. Just thought I'd share that piece of the best news ever! Also, once you pay, you may sit where ever you'd like in the large dining area. There are booths, and lots of tables. A large TV, and sunshine coming in. All they need is a couch and my husband would probably still be there! Free Wi-Fi, why would anyone go hang out at a coffee place when you can go to Harvest Thyme and hang out? Can't think of a reason. The owners, They are a fun/cool couple, and the wife (Caitlin I think!!) is also in charge of the catering. Did I tell you they CATER also?? Ok, this may be too long for yelp, but I had to share one of the best, most fun little places to go... if you''ve never been, you wont regret it!!!

Just had to let the yelp viewers know after seeing this comment about 'the tyrant who demeans women' too many times, I think people should know the ACTUAL reason for this. Not only have none of these reviewers ever worked in the restaurant industry before, after getting to know the staff, yes he is the owner, and this business supports his family of 8 and counting.. ( I'd say that gets pretty damn stressful!) I do a lot of my work here because of the peaceful atmosphere! The demeaning that these poor spoiled saps complain about is what I call 'restaurant talk' so this staff of maybe 5? Can manage multiple deliveries, in shop of some days 60 people in an hour(....!!) and keep everything pretty clean. That kind of attitude is needed sometimes for the influx of business this place does, so give them a break!! Final words, these people work very hard and because of these sorry folk who probably haven't had an actual hard days work in their life think that this is some kind of 'rights' issue they can tweet about at their desk job :)... Also, food is pretty bomb!

Harvest Thyme has great vegan options on their menu - in fact, they have an entire separate menu with all the vegan items on it, just ask.

Short and sweet, this is the place to go for a good sandwich and soup lunch, or brunch favorites. They even serve breakfast. The staff is very pleasant, the menu complete and tasty. One of the cleanest establishments I've been in, in a long time. Colleen greeted us with a smile and enthusiasm, made sure we perused the new menu, even offered a sample of the sarachi chili yummy..... So I ordered a Ruben that was stacked with corn beef a slight amount of sour kraut on fresh marble rye, it would rival a new York deli, the bowl of sarachi chili was very tasty, loaded with beans and beef, high lighted by little strips of fresh carrot and a beautiful picante flavor that was a delight to the palate. It was all topped off with a sample of fresh fruit that cleansed and refreshed my mouth. Seriously yummy food, try it, you'll like it.

Fast and friendly service! Came here for first time and took awhile to order and they didn't hurry me up. Great place for sandwiches and wraps. Quality food! Would love to come back and try their soups.

I've been here twice for breakfast and I'm super impressed. The morning manager is accommodating and friendly. I'm gluten free and their GF waffles are amazing, and there's a lot of choices. The breakfast options are inexpensive and endless. I strongly recommend!

It was my first time ever going there and it was a horrible experience. I had a one hour lunch break, and it took almost my whole lunch break for food. I ordered a sandwich and lobster soup, and was sitting there waiting for 20 mins, only to be told that they gave my order to someone else and that they had ran out of the soup that I wanted. I am sure that it was a rare instance where this happens, but I was highly annoyed of the situation. The sandwich was alright, and the oatmeal cookie was pretty good though.

We stopped here based on the Yelp reviews. After both getting a breakfast sandwich and bagel, we are both baffled at the high reviews. The biscuit sandwiches are just ok, the cheesy hash browns were not good at all, the bagel was tiny and was so hard/dry it was practically inedible. Also the coffee was very weak. We won't waste anymore time or money here. You would be much better off at Panera.

Stopped in for a quick lunch... Glad we did. Many patrons means this place is popular with the lunch crowd. Place your order, they bring it to your table. Sandwiches were so fresh tasting, salad and homemade dressing (as well as homemade croutons - bonus!) was fantastic! Fast and fresh .... A perfect lunch. Thanks Harvest Thyme!

Super overpriced. I sat there and watched the owner or maybe manager (but I'm going to guess owner) of this place demean the young girls that work there. I felt so sorry for them as I saw their confidence decrease as he talked to them like they were dogs. The food is okay but that man was way too mean to those girls for me to ever go back.
