I remember when my mom first introduced me to Firehouse years ago. They're sandwiches were so filling and delicious. Today they still are delicious, but perhaps not so filling. I order the New York steamer combo, because New York Steamer is a fave. Needless to say, it just wasn't enough. For an $8 meal at least provide double the meat maybe? Or perhaps it's just my crazy appetite after leaving a 3 hour meeting without a snack in between. Nevertheless it's a great location sitting across from campus, and you get a free sub on your birthday!

It's a Firehouse subs, what's not to like. The service was exceptional, the food was ready fast, and everything tasted fine. I had the NY Steamer and my son had the Italian. We both ordered the chips and drink and have no complaints. Considering it was game day, we were able to get a seat and our order was fast.

Hey! Do you have 35 extra minutes and $12 extra dollars to waste on a sub par sandwich in between classes?! Great! Eat at this Firehouse. I don't understand what takes them so long to prepare an italian sub and also why they feel the need to charge me 2 times what I should be paying for aforementioned sub. I'm moving out of Gainesville soon so I'm glad I will never be driven to eat here again in a hunger fueled lapse of judgment. Edit: someone from firehouse reached out to me and I appreciate that. Firehouse is a lovely establishment with delightful submarine sandwiches. The soda machine is a dream come true. Though I don't drink soda, I always have a blast playing with the buttons. The Italian sub is magnificent. The employees are burnouts who would rather put their face in the oven than continue working there, and completely understand when customers berate and abuse them for their incompetence.

Firehouse Subs has saved me from starving at 3:00 pm on most days, or whenever I have to work late. They have above-average sandwiches, and I'm a big fan of their "New York Steamer" with grilled onions. They have a bunch of sauces you can have on the side and their Captain Sorensen's® sauce is delicious!! I wouldn't trade this place for a Subway or a Togos. (Although I might prefer a Quizno's, since their sandwiches come out toasted and not steamed). They have ok service and they food comes out quickly. If you order take-out your food will be ready in less than 10 minutes & you also avoid having to wait in line (if there is one).

When I was looking for this on Yelp, I was surprised not to find it, since it is directly across from the business campus. Suspicious, I immediately did a google search- to find that there are multiple locations for this across the country. ???????????? WHAT ?????????????????? These have possibly been the worst sandwiches in the history of the world. Let me state a few reasons. They steam the cheese and meat, in case you wanted your sandwich to be runny. There is little flavor in the sandwich. There is very little option for food. On top of all of that, the restaurant is uncomfortable, and lacks any decent ambiance... Having said that, there are many reasons to go 1. It is close to campus. Located in Target Copy, it is directly across the street from the business quad, making it very easy. 2. The pickles. damn they are tasty. 3. There is no other reason. Save your time, your money, and your soul- go to Burrito brothers next door.
