I've never really sat and thought about writing a review but now is the time. The last couple of times I've gone to this firehouse, they've gotten my order wrong. Today I got a sub completely different from what I order. I only have a limited amount of time to eat so after waiting 10 minutes for my sub to be done and then getting the wrong sub..well that's just unacceptable.

The softrolls they use here are delish. The sandwich itself is a typical sub but the meats always seem fresh and the service is accommodating if you don't like any of the toppings. I typically order the hook and ladder sub (yes, recall this is firehouse themed) which contains turkey and ham. The Italian is also good.

One of the best places to get a good sub sandwich here in Gainesville. (Best being Hogans - but that's a whole other review). The place is tributed to the fire department which is pretty cool....oh and the food happens to be pretty good. I've come here on several occasions and the service is generally pretty friendly. The prices aren't too shabby either. The best thing here, in my opinion, is the steak and cheese. It's filled with thinly sliced steak, melted cheese, and green bell peppers. I usually ask to get mushrooms with it for a little extra. It's really good and the smell can sometimes be just as good. The Club sandwich is pretty good and so is the Firehouse Hero (ham, turkey, and roast beef). I usually get all my subs large and its well worth it to me. Havent tried the brisket, but I hear good things. This was my favorite sub shop for a while (not a huge fan of the Subways and Quiznos of the world). The location is pretty discrete so careful not to drive past it. The prices are fairly decent too. (About $7-8 for a large sub). Worth a trip.

Whats not to like? Big hot subs, lots of meat, fire dude theme and all you can drink sodas. I usually get one of the specialty subs, and the Firehouse Hero with turkey and roast beef seems to me my 'usual'. They offer 'fully involved' which is mayo/mustard/lettuce and tomato with a dill spear on the side. I usually omit the tomato (they're never really good most places and I'm partial to vine ripened - yes, I'm a tomato snob). The meal deal includes a bag of chips and a soda - surprisingly they have chips that aren't too bad, but I wish there was another choice other than a bag of chips. So: Verdict: Above average chain, good value, tasty stuff.

Not my favorite location . Received chili and it was cold , literally cold . Staff seemed kind of agitated , but it is a Sunday and who wants to work on a Sunday :| Bathrooms were clean !

Never disappointed when I leave. My subs are always fresh and made to order. Very delicious, I highly recommend!

I will first start out with store cleanliness, sorry that is a priority of mine, I would say mediocre at best, but in the same sentence I have to say it is hard for this franchise to make a bad sandwich. I have never had a bad sandwich (hangover food!!!) from this store. I have to confess though (even though I know it isn't close to being the freshest) I Iove their salads, I know they are full of preservatives but they taste very good. For me their salads are an excuse to use them as a "weekend" treat.

I've only had Firehouse subs two times, and I was impressed twice! While the location is next to Bonefish Grill and hardly stands out, this Firehouse Subs has a fair amount of seating inside. It's a chill environment, and their subs are, in my opinion, better than Quiznos and Subway. I think Larry's makes a better sub than Firehouse, and Hogan's in Gainesville is the bomb, but this place somehow has my attention and praise. I got the roast beef and cheddar sub from them, with chips and a Cherry Limeade, and enjoyed every bite of it. Be sure to try out their hot sauce collection. I forgot which one I chose, but it was delicious! My only complaint is the lack of bicycle parking. But the employees were nice enough to let me bring my bicycle inside the store and park it near the fire exit in the back. It's a little bit more expensive than Subway or Quiznos for a large sub, but worth the extra money. It does close a bit early, so make sure and check the store hours or give them a call before going, so you won't be disappointed. You can usually find coupons for Firehouse in the mail or in Gator Greenbacks for a free combo upgrade and save yourself a couple bucks.

I have only been here once, and I ordered a Roast Beef Sub, however I really didn't find the roast beef very tasty. I know a lot of people who really love these subs, but I am definently not on the bandwagon.

Decent subs, a little pricy. Ask for no mayo if you're at all health concious, they slather it on thick.

"Founded by Firemen." Did I walk into the quirkiest indie comedy ever made?
