Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

Shockingly good apple fritters! We decided to try this place after rave reviews and they definitely live up to the review! Might need to eat a real low carb lunch tho now

I don't expect too many small donut places to have top quality donuts at 4:00 in the afternoon.. But after reading other reviews I decided to go there since I was in the area. The glazed with chocolate frosting and peanuts and the blueberry cake were Really good! It is a bit of a hike to get there, they are a little off the beaten path. But well worth it! The lady working there was nice also. Definitely recommend this place!

I am a bit of an apple fritter fanatic, these rate as highly as any I've had. Warm with a nice crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. I can't speak for the other doughnuts except the warm doughnut holes she threw in for FREE were melt in your mouth light texture, far better than any Duncan Doughnuts. The reason for only four stars is the out of the way location and small parking lot. Get them to go. Very welcoming and friendly staff

Really great doughnuts for good price. You can choose what filling to put inside them too!

Awesome donuts!!! We got a dozen assortment, they were all amazing, including the donut holes they threw in for free and the hot apple fritter they slipped in after we paid. Wow, not often you get service this good!! We'll definitely be back, just wish they were in a more convenient location... But, totally worth going out of the way for.

Awesome Dounuts! They make the best Apple Fritters also. Not great seating there. Get them to go.

Found this place by luck, was just looking for breakfast while my car was being worked on. Small place but very friendly folks. The donuts are made fresh on location with a few other creations of their own. They through some free extra munchkin donuts. Can't beat that!!

Love this place. Their fritters are the Best by far in Gainesville! Promise. This is not a fancy place... but everything is fresh and delicious. And they always put a couple donut holes in the bag, free. I will say their coffee is not good bordering on poor. They have something called kalstey or something. .. basically a sausage wrapped in pastry. I tried the Turkey sausage one. Tasty. Oh. It is cheap. Their fritter is $1.19. Super reasonable. If you want to support locak businesses this is a great alternative to krispy kreme or dunkin donuts. Just bring your coffee from home

So I've passed by Daylight Donuts multiple times and have always wanted to try it. It's located directly across from the plaza with Publix, TutoringZone, and Pizza Hut off Main Street in a little strip mall with a small parking lot out front. They offer a multitude of different pastries, donuts, and other bakery items but I was primarily there to try out the donuts. I got a mixed dozen for 8 and some change and was surprised when they threw in an extra donut free of cost without any prompting! (not pictured because I ate it on the drive home) I would say from what I've had so far that their icing is pretty delicious though, potentially because of the time of day I went (~2:30), the bread wasn't as soft or as fresh as you would hope. What I thought was the coolest aspect is that for their filled donuts (listed as pastries on the menu) they actually have a predesigned list of about 6-8 flavors (lemon, cream cheese, chopped apple, custard, and more) that you can choose from and they fill your chosen donut on the spot (they just have unfilled donuts shells I guess you could say out in the viewing glass) in their back room. Very neat. Overall they're definitely a store that is out to please the customer and I really wish they had more business. Would definitely recommend to friends. I would give them 5 stars, especially for giving me that free donut for no reason, but due to the bread of the donut I'll give them 4.

Fantastic donut shop. The owners are great. Wide variety of light and fluffy terrific tasting donuts. A must. Open 6 to 6. Get there early before they are all gone

I stopped by today before my work-out to get a sausage, egg, and cheese burrito after reading how good it was from Yelp. My sister and I were greeted by a very nice guy at the counter who gave us a sample of donut holes. By far the best donut holes I've had in Gainesville (or anywhere else). Beats the Krispy Kreme overly sugary donut holes, or the Dunkin Donuts donut holes plagued with a similar problem. As far as the burrito goes...The Flying Biscuit's breakfast burrito only has fresh veggies (onions) on this one. The McDonald's burrito is obviously inferior. For the price ($1.29) and the quality, Daylight Donuts is a runaway train. Also, the prices! They're amazing..I paid about $3 with tip for my burrito and a bottle of water. Highly recommended; will definitely pick up donuts for the office here.

    The donuts are delicious!

  • Akilah B.

I have been there twice so far, both times after 4. The donuts were still moist and delicious. I had a sour cream donut the first go and a donut twist and apple fritter the second. (Each time I wish I had bought more. Yum.) The owners are super nice and threw in some extra donut holes each visit. The parking lot does get crowded, so parking can be kind of a hassle, but the donuts are totally worth it.

  • Perry D.

I went in after seeing the signs for kolach! I had a turkey sausage kolach, a Bavarian cream donut and two lemon filled. You don't have to worry about how fresh the filling is because when I visited, the donuts were inserted with filling while I waited! I will come back in the morning to try their breakfast burritos. Update: breakfast burritos are worth the visit!

Very good donuts at a reasonable price and a good selection. The strawberry-glazed cake donut (with pink icing, per natch) was especially good and they even included some free donut holes with my order. Obviously a family-owned business and they care about having repeat customers. I have not tried the savory pastries yet but they look very tasty, also. They're small and you have to look for their shop because it's in a little strip mall on the eastern side of Main Street and I don't think they're open very late--maybe to four or six at the most? But they're certainly worth seeking out if you want quality, home-made, donuts and other pastries.

The donuts are perfect here!! Certainly the best in Gainesville. They have the perfect amount of glaze on top of a truly fluffy and airy donut. It's not too sweet and they always give you extra donut holes. For me, those never make it past the drive home. I brought these in for my students and everyone was asking where I got them. Everyone loves Daylight Donuts!

They was so nice and polite. I order a dozen and they give me some extra donut holes..Their donuts are so good better than Dunkin Donuts.. When I visit Gainesville again I will go there again

This hole-in-the-wall popped up on Main Street and my wife and I stopped by on a Saturday morning while we were waiting on an appointment elsewhere. I grabbed a chocolate glazed, she got a creme filled donut. As others have noted, the filling is put in the donut after you order. The donuts were very good (better than what you usually get at Dunkin Donuts), and the price was super cheap (how are they going to keep the lights on?!). He even threw in some free donut holes. We plan to return to try the kolaches, which looked really good.

Hands down Daylight Donuts has the best overall combination of selection, quality and prices in all of Gainesville. Whether you are looking for a variety of donut choices, kolache, danish, or the best croissant in town the super friendly staff at Daylight has you covered. Not conveniently located for me since I live on the west side of town but worth the drive when I'm in the area.

I stopped in here yesterday after passing by it a few times. The donuts were definitely worth it, they were delicious and he filled them on the spot. I will definitely be returning soon and hopefully to try their breakfast items!

Stopped in here the other day to grab a quick bite for breakfast and what a great decision that was!! Everything is made fresh in house. I got a ham egg and cheese croissant, and was very impressed, it even had a real fresh fried egg!! I've been back twice since last week!! And the prices are excellent!!! Go here!!

The clock had a full parking lot, so we decided to try here, what a lovely twist of fate. this place had the best kolache bread I have ever had.(I am used to the famous Czech stop in West outside of Dallas Tx.) We went in for Kolaches, I ordered a long john. When we ordered a Cappuccino he apologized for having forgot to turn the Machine on. (was not a big deal they have plenty of cold drinks to choose from) The Customer service was out of this world, we also got an apple fritter and some donut holes. The glaze they use is soooo flavorful and delicious, the fritter it's self was perfectly crisp around the edges and nice and moist in the center. If you haven't been here your missing out. Going here was one of the most happy accidents I have ever experienced. Your taste-buds will thank you.

This is a hole in the wall joint and at first sight you might hesitate but don't. Yummy yummy yummy. This is a chain idea but the donuts are made on site and are really good. This is an old fashion donut place and my family is now addicted. The apple fritter is outstanding and if you like a good cake donut these are also very good.
