BOO YAH! They did it! Four stars because there is always room for improvement. However, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. The food items have grown! So much to choose from. The burger is freaking good. Downright so good I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing so I wouldn't have be rolled home. Now that there are some extra food choices it's a great way place to go for lunch and dinner. Still clean. Still really cool service. I dig it. I'll go back. I think I'll even go back tonight! That hamburger though...with that bacon.......

Cool place with live music, great burgers and more different beers on tap than you could drink in a semester. What more is there to say? I saw some bad reviews, and decided to take a chance one night, when I was looking for a place on this side of town. I am glad we came in. The live music was ok, but the singer was sincere and stayed at it all night. I wish the place was a bit quitter, as I would have liked to have given her more attention. As it was, it was like people were shouting to be heard over her ... like I said kind of a bummer. Will definitely be back. The place is cool, the service was excellent, and the food was really good.

First time to this place. The food menu is pretty big. The beer menu is huge. The best way to try the big selection of taps is to try a "flight". Four beers, about 5 oz each for $10. A little pricey but better than buying a pint of nasty beer. Now for the food. We tried apps. First one was the pretzel and beer cheese dip. I was very disappointed with it. The pretzel was a factory made reheated cheap piece of dough. The cheese was almost like soup and had a very strong onion flavor. Nothing like real Wisconsin beer cheese dip or soup. We also tried the fried mac & cheese bites. These were amazing. Great crunch, and the right amount of cheese. Next was the chicken wings. We had the Parmesan garlic, and the buffalo. The wings were cooked perfectly. The sauce was very good. I will be back to try more beer and maybe a burger next time.

Come for a beer, leave because of the food... Ok, it's hardly that bad. But the dining portion of this not-so-delicately named establishment could stand for considerable improvement. Several visits produced one perfectly reasonable bowl of chili and a few burger/fries combos that can only be described as sub-standard. Greasy, messy, not particularly flavorful. It would certainly do in a pinch, but I generally prefer a better meal in order to become a consistently returning customer. The beer portion of the experience is great. Tons of options on tap, and there are always a few local brews that make this a good "one-stop" kind of place to sample the best of the Gainesville craft beer scene. Service can be uneven, but is generally fine. This location used to house a rotating variety of restaurants. The atmosphere is nothing special, but that is to be expected for the quiet, suburban vibe to this part of town.

More like CRAPPY Bastards Major disappointment. We got a flight and it was all sub-par. We had one question and our server had no knowledge of the menu. Our waters were never filled. The food was just very low quality. Not worth any amount of many. The wings were def just frozen wings that they threw in the fryer. Took 5-ever. The live band was torture. So wretched. Could not escape. I will NEVER return. Such a mediocre establishment.

Great selection of beer and friendly staff. We always receive good service the times we go there. The crafty burger is tasty.

This was our second visit. Would their food and service be as good as last time? Well, the appetizer of corn nuggets was a good start. The bowl was emptied in two minutes. The 312 Urban wheat ale and Intuition People pale ale were cold and crisp. One sandwich started as a grilled chicken but with the bacon, Provolone cheese and cole slaw, it became nearly perfect in the brioche bun. Another sandwich was the TBC, that is, tomato, bacon and cheddar cheese on a two slices of ciabatta bread. Outstanding. Our server was excellent. When we could not make up our minds on the beer selection she quickly suggested several samples. This was a great way to avoid a too bitter a beer.

stopped in with my brothers and sis-in-law for a mid-afternoon nosh. Selection of about 60 craft beers, several local to Gainesville. Pricing was $5-$6 per glass, and glass sizes ran from pint to 10oz snifter, depending on the beer. Pub-ish options for food, we had chicken wings and chili, priced a bit on the high end. $10 for 10 wings, $6 for a bowl of chili, $4.50 for a cup. I'll say this, the chili was tasty and filling. Several TVs, most showing some sporting event or another. Waitstaff friendly, but not completely up to speed on what beers they had, and which styles were what, and how they compared. Tasters were available for the asking. Didn't ask about flights. This particular location seems to chew through its share of sports-related pubs

Excellent place for good food and a wide selection of beers. The fish and chips are as good as it gets in Gainesville and I tried the lobster black bean quesadilla which was excellent too. The conch fritters and onions rings were great appetizers. All in all an excellent meal and great beer for a modest price. We had a little service snafu at the beginning but they bent over backwards, made it all right and we left with full tummies and big smiles. I'll be happy to go back anytime.

So. Many. Beers. The staff was really chatty, attentive, and happy to answers questions about beers and give us tastes. The food menu was extensive, with lots of burger options, plus salads, quesadillas, etc. There are a lot of scheduled activities too, with trivia, karaoke.

Solid three stars, four and a half on the beer selection and FAIR pricing. They have a military discount on Wednesday. They are doing great to start the food menu is a little short but I expect that is due to the new owner and a conservative start. A real Mom and Pop and the son are making a place that is inviting and pleasing. I bet if I asked they would get any, I mean ANY beer I asked for. As for the name I love it! Give them a try I know I will be here for the Gator games! P.S. I am holding back on the stars because I cannot give 3.5.

If you are looking for a fun place to hang out in the evening, this is it! Plenty of beers on tap and they even have Bud Light! LOL They always have my favorite wine and other drinks as well. We have seen steady improvement with the menu as the owners are working diligently to make everyone happy. The burgers are great, and the fries are made of fresh potatoes, not frozen. The wings are superb, cooked to a crispy perfection, with a nice selection of sauces. Love the Chicken Philly, and I hear the Chili is excellent. I'll have to try that with my next visit. We have been on a Friday night and the place was rocking, not an open table in sight, but Jeff went to a closet and pulled out a table and chairs for us to be seated. Think Hump Day is mediocre? Not at this place! The house rocks with evening entertainment! Not only are the evenings fun, but this is a great place to get out of the heat mid day. We have sought respite after several hot motorcycle rides and enjoyed it immensely. Conveniently located, this is a nice place for a quick lunch while working the daily grind. I highly recommend it!

The wings are awesome! The shepherds pie was so hearty and made with lamb. The waiting staff was on point...Kat is the best! They ran out of mac and cheese bites and gave me my first beer for free...the next two beers were half off!! They have a pretty decent craft beer selection.

The wife & I stopped by on Friday night of TCB's opening weekend. This is a bar with a selection of bar foods, and about 3 dozen beers on tap. Wines/cocktails also available. TCB is in the NW side of town a good distance from all the student drinking hangouts near the University of Florida, so the crowd was more towny & older than the patrons of other bars. They have forty-eleven kinds of bacon but we stuck with beer this visit, sitting at the bar. The bartenders were friendly, and only a little flustered by opening weekend. The bar had a bunch of TV's for sports, and a bank of monitors with facts about all the beers on tap. They had all manner of beer specific glassware; most of the pours looked good going out. No taps were empty and the bar area was tidy & organized. The beer selection was pretty good, except they only had one sour. They emphasized all the year round beers from the two local breweries: SwampHead & First Magnitude. The bartenders were pretty patient during your first beer & were generous about giving out samples...also giving out samples through the night. All in all, it looks like TCB worked hard to get the beer right; which is good. The many taps- many beers space is crowded in Gainesville. Here are the cons that robbed them of their fourth star: Menu is pretty heavy & has few veg options, women's bathroom needed some love although the place was not slammed, & some server confusion was evident behind us in the booth/restaurant area. So we had a nice time, and the other bar-flies all seemed content. TCB has potential. Pro Tip: Parking lot by bar door is cramped...park a bit away.

We are so happy to have a craft beer pub in this area of town! They are still working out the kinks of a new establishment (this is a locally owned small business, not a chain). I overheard one server saying that they are planning to fix up the restrooms eventually, because they just put on a coat of paint from when it was Kazbors. Fried Mac and Cheese bites are great, chili is good, and the owner said they will offer some healthy wraps and bigger salads very soon. My only issues are: they don't seem to give you a bottled beer list unless you ask for it, they should give a larger portion size of their appetizers for the price they charge, and parking is tight. I can see us coming here for Friday Happy Hour often.

Food was ok nothing special priced a little high for what you get. Far better places in gainesville but none the less was worth a shot. May give them another shot in the future

Great beer, haven't tried the food tho. They need to remodel the place, the bathrooms looked really old and dirty. Restaurants should never have a dirty bathroom. Hope they iron out the kinks, kinda like haven a pub close by.

Overpriced. Bad food. Older crowd of nothing but bored middle aged people with questionable tastes.

Great beer selection! Happy hour is a buck off all drafts (4$ golden monkey... Yessir). Food is also great at a very fair price (5$ burger and fries) worth mentioning the chili is freaking awesome. Will be coming back real soon.

Was really excited to have a new spot near home serving craft beers. Dropped by for happy hour on Friday and walked into a very nice environment. Greeted with smiles and friendly bartenders gladly offering samples to find us the right beer. Tap selection is pretty good. However, that's where the positive things end. Numerous places all over town have an equally good, if not better selection and far better prices. To say this place is overpriced is an understatement. Happy hour special of $1 dollar off local beers is, underwhelming. The food prices, for what is actually served, is a bit criminal. The basket of bacon includes 4 pieces of bacon for $9. Is it tasty? You can't really screw up bacon. But that price point is absurd. From what other food items I could see across the bar and on other tables, portions are tiny and prices are high. I am hopeful the pricing is altered, as I would really like this place to succeed. But as with square one burgers, I cannot justify another visit due to the pricing. Too many other options in town to choose from where it doesn't feel like my wallet is being abused.

Crafty Bastards is an amazing place! Such good food, and the beer choices are awesome! They even let you sample the beer to help you decide! All the staff was WONDERFUL, the ower makes it a point to stop at all the tables to say hello! The burger I ate was phenominal, and so were the mac and cheese bites! The only thing that is missing is a pool table, but besides that, I would reccommend this to anyone in the Gainesville area!

The male bartender was nice enough, the woman was rude. The prices were high, and the kitchen was closed. We will not be returning.
