I went here when my family was in town a few weeks back. it was a great breakfast choice because we were all more than full for $7. For that amount you can get eggs hashbrowns and a bagel. I even had left overs for the next day. For that price and amount of food I dont see why you wouldn't want to go back

Great "local" place - very good food, friendly staff - might be a little slow / busy on the weekends, but absolutely worth the wait!!

This place is a small little place in the SweetBay plaza. The food itself is not too bad, and the prices are great. I ordered a meat and cheese omelette. I choose ham and cheddar with butter toast. It wasn't bad but I was not impressed. I imagine with the small location, small kitchen and lots of customers, it can be overwhelming and tough to cook a lot of food. My friends and I went there on a Sunday morning for breakfast. We probably waited about 45 minutes for our food. While we were getting refills on coffee, water, and hot chocolate, the time was a bit excessive for breakfast. By the time we got our food to the table, it wasn't hot, it was warm. By the time I got to the halfway point of my omelette, the rest was cold. The food overall isn't bad, the prices are cheap. I'd say if you come later in the afternoon outside of normal breakfast time, you may get a pretty hot meal.

Stopped here for a quick breakfast sandwich. Very nice polite & quick. Delish sandwich.

One of my favorite places for breakfast in Gainesville. Pros- an amazing variety of breakfast foods including the standard eggs & bacon with a variety of bagels and spreads. I think they have daily specials depending on the day of the week and also have some lunch items. Everything is always fresh. The bacon is one of the best and the hashbrowns are always crunchy. They also have a wall of different hot sauces for your food which is awesome. The staff is also great & friendly even if it's packed and the phone is ringing off the hook. I also really like that they offer soy milk & earth balance for vegans/ lactose free people. Oh and if you've never tried it the honey bun French toast its really good if you like really sugary French toast. The pancakes are as big as a large dinner plate. Cons- gets super packed on the weekends. Sometimes it's really hot in there and it's pretty small inside. No complaints on the food though. Prices are pretty good (less than $10 for an above average portion). This is your best bet for a good, hearty breakfast!

Amazing! Try it. Would've given 5 stars but they served me coffee in a dirty mug that had a piece of lettuce stuck to it on one side. I'll let that slide since we arrived within 10 minutes of closing time. Kind of gross, but oh well! But the atmosphere, food, service- basically everything about this place was great. I'll definitely be back.

Crowded with fairly slow service. When I went, the A/C was broken too. Overall, it was not a good experience. The bagels were no better than Panera or Einstein....maybe worse.

  • Gabriele O.

The breakfast burrito is gigantic and really yummy and the honeybun dipped in egg was scrumbchous and the veggie omelette is orgasmic good coffee good tea great OJ and nice waitress good atmosphere and tons of hot sauces to choose from...

Good food, always busy and service is good. Only qualm I have is that it stinks to high heaven like grease. The restaurant is small so I am sure that is why. Otherwise it's a good breakfast joint.

  • Arielle M.

Big portions, awesome service, a wall of hot sauces, delicious food, and great prices... what more could you ask for. This is, by far, my favorite breakfast joint in Gainesville! The "Hearty" is my go to (home made breakfast potatoes, eggs, and cheese)! Their Asiago bagel is so good and I love the veggie cream cheese too!!!

We stopped in for breakfast for the first time the other day. Disappointing is putting it mildly. Since bagels is in the title you would think this would be one of the better items to order, but not so. You are better off buying a bagged bagel in the grocery store. The toasted bagel was small, thin and hard. They should not even have grits on the menu if you serve them lumpy and tasteless. Who does that? The waitress serving us seemed to be very distracted and after one coffee refill, she never reappeared. The place is very cramped and needs a good cleaning. I can not imagine ever eating at this place again.

  • Jen M.

Very kitschy, and the place can get really warm and busy. Otherwise- I'm a sucker for a decent bagel and their bagel sandwich breakfasts are hard to beat.

This place killed it. It's just a perfect breakfast spot. Nothing too crazy. Just good breakfast food. The Pancakes are huge, fluffy, and they sort of taste like nutmeg? The portions were obnoxious, almost to a fault. I literally ate about a 1/3 of my meal, and I never do that. Price was too reasonable. I paid like $7 for coffee, two pancakes, corned beef, and eggs. Service was nice. I loved it. Come.

  • Brittany N.

The waitress is very friendly and attentive. The hash browns is always a hit and so is the maple sausage. Breakfast food is my favorite, so I was disappointed that the pancakes had a floury taste/thick texture. Another positive was that the silverware was really clean. Overall, the food was okay, but I'm still searching for the best breakfast place.

When I first walked in there was one thing that stood out... There were mostly crack heads and/or pill heads that work there. I will start with the food. The bagels were below average. The keniche was terrible. Puff pastry what???? It was microwaved from frozen and looked like a blob of dough, although the potato mixture was seasoned well still tastes like it was from a box. The lox was delicious. We had the fresh squeezed orange juice... Not fresh. Was tasty and and had some pulp in it but 100% not fresh squeezed. Now for the service- our waitress was nice and gave good service, however when the other waitress has bruises all over her arms and was without a doubt shooting up drugs in the bathroom while I was waiting outside the door kind of takes away from the whole service experience. I felt dirty just wanted to get out of there at that point. She was visibly high and my boyfriend and son were with me and we were all disgusted. I wouldn't go back and have advised my step son to stay away from there! Shame on the owner for letting this type of thing go on. If I am a customer and see it you should see it! Get it together!!

We went on a Saturday morning when only one cook and one waitress were working (apparently another waitress was running late to work). We were one of the only tables when we first came in, but during our meal the place became full. The waitress was serving the ENTIRE restaurant and doing a great job at it! She was constantly on her feet and never stopping unless to fill our water glasses. Fantastic job. The food was great too and reasonable prices. The pancakes are huge! They have a whole wall full of hot sauces. There is a daily breakfast special where you can save a dollar or two.

The food was kind of pricy for what I got. I'm a big breakfast guy, and I came around lunch time for a brunch with a friend. Usually my expectations are not too high for brunch and I'm not too hard to please. This food was awful though. My omelette had a sheet of plastic in it from whatever the cheap cheese they used was. It had a bad texture, and the eggs were really pasty like they had watered them down or something? Yeah, I'm not really sure what that was either. Then the grits that I got were clearly really cheap instant grits made with water. If I had to guess I'd say they came from a microwave. With tip it came out to around the same price as Peach Valley Cafe or the Flying Biscuit, which are both a much better experience with a much cleaner interior, much better service, and much better food. I won't be back if I can help it.

Coming from a small town like I did, you get used to mom and pop places that cook and serve up greasy spoon foods at a quality level. Bagels Unlimited is my home away from home when it comes to this type of food, but they gain extra advantage for having non-traditional items alongside the standard to create a satisfying option for basically anyone. The Space: It's somewhat small, being located in a plaza at the corner of 34th and 20th, so if you plan on sitting down to eat breakfast you may have to wait 10 minutes or so (they get good business early on). You will smell grease and food when you walk in, as with any place that serves up oil-dependent foods like hashbrowns or corned beef hash, and that grease cannot be guaranteed to be completely removed from every table when wave after wave of patrons come in chowing down on their meals, but do not let that dissuade you from taking part in that same behavior. The Food: Portions are intense. Every single time I have ordered anything from here (save for a breakfast bagel sandwich) I have either split the meal with someone or taken home a stuffed to-go box. Their pancakes are about 3/4" thick and barely fit into the to-go boxes they provide. You can get them specially made with chocolate chips, bananas, blueberries, pecans, etc. which I am a huge fan of, and they come out nice and fluffy. The omelets are enormous and totally filled with whatever ingredients you asked for, and they have a way of making the omelet a bit on the fluffy side while also being a little thin. May not suite everyone, but I quite like the way they make them. And yes, they have a wide selection of bagels and spreads to use for said bagels, though I consider the bagels to kind of be an afterthought in comparison to the other options available (plus most dishes come with a bagel included, which further contributes to that tag-along perspective) PRO TIP: They have a wall of hot sauces for your meal. Use it. The Service: They get busy and they are cramped in that kitchen, but with all of that in mind they do a solid job of tending to everyone and getting the food out quickly. If you order coffee you can expect it to be refilled before you get to the very bottom. The staff is always in good spirits and most of the time you get called some pet name like "sweetie," "honey," or "sugar" (ah, just like home!) You want Waffle House done the right way? You want hardy and stuffed early in the am? Come to Bagels Unlimited and you will NOT be disappointed.

I've lived in Gainesville my whole life and, after getting bored with the traditional breakfast places around town, decided to give this hole in the wall a chance. Best. Decision. Ever. The atmosphere is about what you would expect from a diner-style breakfast jointed located in a statement mall. Nothing fancy at all, but clean. And what they save in overhead is passed down to the customer by lower prices. Portions are huge. Wide range of choices to fit anyone's taste. They offer many options in terms of a la carte and sides choices, so you can pretty much customize the meal to suit you. The food was great (especially the Honey Bun French Toast!!!) and everything seemed homemade. As the name implies, the bagels and cream cheese are real standouts here. But you also can't go wrong with any of the egg dishes (omelettes especially) or pancakes. Services was good. They run the whole place with only 2 front of house servers, which doesn't leave them a lot of time for pleasantries. But they definitely took the time to answer questions and make recommendations, and my drinks were full the whole time. All in all, it's a great alternative to the other breakfast places in town that seem to get all the attention. If you're looking for a good, quick, filling meal you will not be disappointed!

Best breakfast place I've ever been to. Does everything GREAT and reasonably priced. Will have to put up with a wait but well worth it..

Great food! Wonderful service as well, we had a little old lady serve us and for hungry college students it was a great price as well. Would definitely recommend for a good breakfast.

This is a great place to stop for breakfast. Being a bagel connoisseur, these are definitely the best bagels in Gainesville. they are one of few places that actually put lots of everything on the everything bagels oddly enough most places skimp out on the toppings. I've tried their breakfast sandwiches hashbrowns home fries pancakes everything seems to be consistently good. Servers are pretty friendly to get you in and out. I usually call in orders and pick up on my way to school and it's always been ready on time

I can't even begin to tell you how frustrated I am with this place. I wish there was 0 stars because that's how horrible my experience was. I walked into a restaurant with 2 empty tables as I'm waiting 20 minutes and there is 5 people ahead of me. I got confused and started asking questions n was told that she just hasnt had time to call people to the table, at that moment I realized that she was the only waitress in the whole restaurant... Yes, a full restaurant with a wait and ONE waitress.. Not two, not three, but ONE !!!! I was astonished. I then decided that I'm going to order take out, I waited 10 minutes to try to order before deciding this place is a joke.

  • Steven S.

Great portions! Everything was great. Had the Hearty. I could barely finish it and I like to eat big meals. The casserole was loaded with sausage n TONS of cheese on top! Go hungry, you'll leave happy :)

We went to restaurant today we wait 30 min even 3 table are open. Well, finally we got table and waitress took our order right away. I ordered special with meat with hash brown and my husband ordered bagel with lox, everything was good except bagels ( mine and my husband ) taste like 3 days old frozen bagels. Other yelp review mention buy bagel from store much better than this place. I agree! If your place name bagles must have great bagels.

  • Donna C.

Lots of good choices, I ordered off the menu and it was no problem and just what I wanted an Onion bagel with BLT and add a fried egg. Perfect! I went on a Saturday morning and it was nuts. Line out the door, no organization that I could see. There was 3 girls working but each were doing all the jobs, one girl was waiting tables then went to make it then took my order at the counter for take out, then took a phone order. Maybe the need to stick to one job a day. It took forever too to get my food like 30 min. It was good but I don't understand how anything gets done.

My boyfriend and I stopped in for a quick breakfast before heading onto a road trip. It's a cute little hole-in-the-wall place, with REALLY great bagels. The owner gave a girl near us a free appetizer, as she was apparently a regular. (I love when places do things like that.) I got a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. It was spectacular. The boyf got the french toast- delicious, but be prepared for a LOT of powdered sugar. Also, the maple sausage is awesome. We got a bagel for the road with pepper cream cheese? (I figured when in Rome...) It was good, but have water readily available. =]

New location is terrible. When in Gville try either Peach valley, Flying biscuit or Cracker Barrel instead.

  • Jodi C.

Long wait even though there were empty tables. My entire meal was cooked wrong, runny (raw) eggs & un-toasted bagel. The only part I enjoyed about my meal was the spinach cream cheese.

    Great place for breakfast.

  • Carly R.

My favorite quick breakfast/bagel place in Gainesville. The service is always friendly and excellent. They are fast and keep your coffee cup full. They offer homemade bagels and cream cheese. I recommend the asiago cheese bagel with low-fat veggie cream cheese. They have a variety of bagels, cream cheeses, breakfast sandwiches, traditional breakfast items, and lunch items. Great place if you need to get in and out in a hurry or if you just want to sit back and enjoy the paper.

Breakfast galore! Delicious home fries and omelet. Bagels and toasted muffins are great. The kind of place you want to support with your business. Warning: servings are big!

  • Karly G.

I finally woke up early enough to try this place, and I'm so glad I did! The spicy pepper cream cheese is to die for. I would buy it by the case. My food was prepared perfectly. I love my hash browns extra crispy, and this was the first place in Gainesville that prepared them just how I like it. The spinach kniche was divine, very hearty and rich. I didn't even know what a kniche was. Our servers were sweet and attentive. The decor and atmosphere is charming, and I could hang out by the hot sauce wall all day. Prices are reasonable. I can't wait to go again.... If I can end up rolling out of bed.

I was looking to try a bagel place that had lox on the menu. I ordered a bagel w/cream cheese and a lox platter after a brief chat with the waitress about how the platter is a better value since extra veggies on your sandwich cost $1 each, which is kind of crazy. I then waited for 40+ minutes and watched at least one person who had arrived after me get her food before I did. For that long of a wait they should have been the best bagels I have ever eaten; they were not. Also, the pickle promised on the menu to be included on the platter was not. I will review again after trying the table service since people seem to like the other food, and it looked great, but I'll likely not be dropping in for takeout again.

  • Herbert S.

Walked in about 11:30am on a Saturday. No wait. Server was Christine. She was fast with drink order and had a little bit of a sarcastic playful edge to her. Coffee was a little watered down. Overall, good quantity of food for the price, i ordered a supreme omelet with an everything bagel, bagel was absolutely delicious. omelet was stuffed with ingredients, but lacking egg. Home fries were great. I would go here again to fill my stomach, but wouldn't go out of my way to go here. I would recommend it for it's cheap prices and large amount of food provided.

Amazing place to eat! I came in only for a brief moment before getting my nails done next door and was shocked by just how busy they were! Folks definitely see through the size of the place and see the quality. With a small but intimate crew, I could see how they were focused on the guests. Although it took a few moments for my order to be taken at the front, I saw that the waitresses really had their hands full. When they came to take my order, they were so pleasant, all was forgotten. I got a toasted Asiago bagel w/Lox Cream Cheese, a side of bacon and fresh OJ. All were delicious! The OJ was so good, I went back and bought another cup in the biggest size! I'll be here more often!

Love their breakfast! Their omelette are huuuge! And they got a whole wall of sauce collections ! Just for a breakfast place it deserves a 5 star! Only wish they are open for dinner times.

Got pancakes for my kids and they were huge!! Love the cheese omelet and home fries. Veggie cream cheese is the best I've ever had - you can even get a container to go!

Just tried the Sloppy John Burger and it is definitely worthy of the name. One of the best burgers I have ever had. Great meat quality and ridiculously good grilled cheeses for bread with sautéed onions and jalapeños. love this place.

I crown Bagels Unlmtd as best breakfast dive in Gainesville. I love the portion sizes (the hearty), the bagel sandwiches (Eggel bagel), the bagels, AND the wall of hot sauces + local salsa. Can't miss here.

  • Ashley H.

The everything bagel was pretty much a saltsaltsalt bagel and I couldn't even eat the knish I ordered. The whole process also took way longer than it should; I didn't want to be there for over an hour. Very disappointing.

This place has awesome bagel sandwiches! My boyfriend ordered the corned beef hash, fried egg, & American cheese bagel sandwich. I ordered the sausage, fried egg, & pepperjack cheese bagel sandwich. We both ordered everything bagels. We aren't sure if they bake their own bagels in house, but regardless the bagel sandwiches were huge, filling, & delicious! Also, we had the potato knish! DELICIOUS! Who ever thought of putting potato in puff pastry is a smart person! Definitely hit up this spot for awesome breakfast sammies!!!

Since I left G-ville and moved to Vegas...I miss this place sOOOO much!!!! John has the best bagels and the best chicken salad ever!!!! A nice special bonus is the sweet tea and hot sauces!!!! When ever I come back home I always always visit!!!!! The customer service and the food are amazing!!!

  • Bryne Y.

Small breakfast spot tucked away in a grocery store strip mall. As the name would suggest, they offer a ton of bagel options (the onion bagel with veggie cream cheese is very good, but chew some gum after you finish it) as well as all of the classics you'd expect to find on the menu of a greasy spoon diner. BU also offers pretty impressive vegetarian/vegan breakfast options; the tofu scramble with veggies is a pretty decent meal (even if mine came out a little bit burned on my last visit, it was still delicious). One of the better options away from the downtown area.

    (4)
  • Sugar B.

Great little hole in the wall breakfast place. They have a huge wall of hot sauces to choose from which is fun to try. Love that they have egg whites.

  • Richy S.

I didn't think I'd be able to find even a decent bagel in Gainesville, but this place was as close to NY style as you can get without trucking in water from the East River. The waitress was friendly and helpful, and the food was great. Just a note, they charge $0.25 for using a credit card, but they did warn me first.

    (5)
  • Joe S.

VERY VERY BAD........VERY!!! The mother of owner screamed at my mother-in-law, when mother-in-law brought to counter a package she had found in rear booth. The food sucked. The "knish" was awful....supposed to be a puff pastry....was instead a heavy, soggy, inedible unidentifiable lump. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. There are so many other places in town that deserve your business.,

  • Gigi A.

Great place for breakfast! It has the homey feel with locals who talk to you like you're their next door neighbor. The food is nothing short of delicious. And there's a lot of value here. Plus its close to campus. For kicks, try picking up the plastic bagels near the counter. (Or better yet get a scaredy cat friend to pick it up) My friend almost had a heart attack. Its the little charms like that that make this place a very cute local place. I will definitely stop by here for breakfast with friends here now, especially out of towners. It just has that southern, small town feel to it. I like fancy places though with funky atmosphere and I just wasn't feeling this place too much. Maybe, I'm just too blase and want everything to be hip and cosmopolitan. I'm sure others will love it though. GREAT breakfast food :)

  • Ping N.

I love the old lady who works at this place. She shuffles around refilling coffee and bringing you food and she is adorable! I also love the huge selection of hot sauce at this place and the obvious display of Gator spirit. The bagel sandwich was pretty good, if not a bit on the salty side. I like that the portions are not huge - it's just the right amount of food one can have without going into a food coma.

As close as that homestyle ma and pa breakfast place as you'll get in Gville..

Veggie tofu scramble. My friend threatened to punch our cute waitress in the face. I've had a lot of coffee there. Gets seven points for the ridiculously excessive golf-related decor.

This cute little breakfast place is awesome and Shelby (one of the servers) is fantastic! The pancakes are unbelievable and the Eggel Bagel is a perfect to-go option. Delicious!

This place is one of a kind! The portions are family size but single person priced. The food is absolutely fresh. The staff has a strong family vibe, which invites conversation. It's all around a good time. The new location has a bigger kitchen which means less of a wait for your food. Just FYI! They are now in the sweet bay plaza on 34th street and 20th ave.

Great food, horrible service. I came here with my parents Sunday morning. An elderly woman "greeted" us and yelled at us to take our own menus to our table. She, unfortunately, was also our waitress, and when she took our orders she kept rudely screaming, "WHAT, I can't hear you??" The food took FOREVER and while a younger waitress came over to refill our coffees and bring us water, the elderly lady didn't even look at us when she passed our table, let alone let us know when our food would be coming. Our food finally arrived and it was really delicious. I got the bagel with nova, my parents got a breakfast sandwich and a breakfast casserole; we highly recommend all of the food. Finally, just when I thought the food had made up for the horrible service, the woman screamed at me to "Get out of the way!" while we were in line waiting to pay. Needless to say, I will definitely not be coming back here after dealing with that woman and her horrible attitude, which is unfortunate because the food was really great.

Greasy but decent. Thanks for bailing on us at the old location. I went there and it was close and had to settle for McD's. It sucked.

Yummy non-traditional bagels with lots of delicious flavors, and good cream cheeses. A good neighborhood place. Try it out!

Amazing breakfast selection - not just your average bagel place. Everything I've had has been delicious. They have about a zillion hot sauces to choose from as well - the best I've tasted was the banana hot sauce.
