As good as it gets. Wonderful roast pork and house made Piccadillo..amazing flavors. The garlic knots will make your lips sing. Be sure to get an extra order of the sweet Plantains. Fantastic flan w a wonderful caramelized sugar sauce too. This place is not to be missed!

After a beautiful drift dive, we were rather hungry and stopped in to grab lunch. It was delicious. The plantains were cooked to perfection. Rice and beans needed no extra seasoning. Cilantro chicken outstanding. In our party we had a brunch selection of eggs and chorizo, Cuban sandwich, cilantro chicken, and marinated beef. Everyone was well pleased. This restaurant also has a cool back room playing good Cuban music and a slide show with Pictures of Cuba. Although, I didn't have time (or room) for an ice cream cone on the way out, the whole experience was wonderful.

Though I've only been here once, I can say with absolute certainly that Penn Station makes the best picadillo I've ever had in my life...and I'm from Miami, so you can trust me when I say that it's amazing. I love the casual, cozy atmosphere and its location in the Dunnellon Historic District. I am definitely going to be coming back to try out more of their dishes and write a more detailed review! :)

This place is so unique! We enjoyed ice cream earlier today and went back for dinner. The waitress was super sweet and very attentive. The shrimp scampi was the best I have ever had....so fresh with a delicious sauce good enough to swim in! We will definitely be going back soon!

This is an odd place, they serve Cuban food, burgers and sandwiches. Me and a friend order Cuban steak with rice and beans which was very good and fresh tasting. Our husbands ordered burgers and fries which were great too. The fries are very fresh. My friend ordered chicken fingers for her daughter which were cooked perfectly. Only downside was the service, after we got our food she disappeared and never gave us drink refills. She was not very professional and made us feel like more of a burden then a paying customer. But I will be back for the food, hopefully service is better, everyone has an off day sometimes!

Que authentica! Cuban sandwich is a must. They have REAL Cuban bread. A rare find in North FL. It's cash only.. But worth the inconvenience.

Best hamburgers in the area, overstuffed sandwiches and real french fries like they used to serve at the county fair, daily specials, everything made from scratch and friendly service, what more can you ask for. My favorite place to eat, would go more often if I was closer. Don't let the Cuban food scare you, they have lots of traditional items, even Nathan's hotdogs and Ruben sandwiches.

Surprisingly excellent find on the way back to Miami from Rainbow Springs. I the lechon was excellent, and I can also recommend the omelettes and ropa vieja. Oh, and the cajun fries are totally amazing.

Recent (and first) health inspection report shows no violations. I do not reside in this town so I am not biased. There are maybe only 10 eateries in this town. What initially appealed to me was that it was on an historic street and that it was a "deli". The sign out front said the special of the day was jambalaya with sausage & chicken. I guess my first clue should of been that they couldn't spell sausage. I sat at a booth that had a dirty table as well as the booth itself. There were left over paper items from a previous patron. The server brought me my beverage but it was the incorrect one. I ordered the corned beef & pastrami sandwich grilled on rye. I went to the restroom to wash up had had to pass through a 3' aisle that was directly next to the server's station. I also was "fortunate" enough to see the young cook in the kitchen since there was no door to the enter the kitchen. When I came back from washing up, my food was already at my table. They serve hand cut fries here, but they were so thin, there was barely any potato on them. The sandwich was hardy but the bread was extremely greasy. I was 1/2 way finished with my meal when I realized I needed a beverage refill. I looked all around for my server to no avail. Eventually I called another server over and was informed my server left for the day! Okay....... Not even an "I'm leaving...so & so will be taking over" or anything. When I completed my meal I had to wash up again to attempt to get the grease off my hands. The sandwich was slightly over priced but the dinners were very over priced. I left wondering exactly what type of place this really was...a deli.....cuban restaurant...cajun eatery? They need to focus on one style of food.

The paella is excellent and the sandwiches are enormous and great! We lived in Miami for 10 years and this place has quality Cuban food.

Really good food ... excellent place for lunch. Authentic Cuban flavors and ingredients, hand-cut fries (5 varieties) ... top quality meats ... mucho flavor! Never had a chance to eat dinner here, but I would imagine it would be good. I've had the Cheese Burger, slow-roasted pork special (Pork, rice/beans and plantains were excellent), and the club sandwich ... all were really good!

I have been there three times and everytime the food was excellent I had the Cuban burger that was a mix of pork chorizo and beef on a kaiser roll. Excellent and cooked to perfection (medium rare) and served with a side of Cajun fries. Also a big surprise was the Reuben sandwich piled so high and you could definetly tell the meat was home made not a cheap deli cut from a store and grilled on real rye bread. I thought I was in a Jewish deli with a side of garlic French fries. (fresh garlic not powdered) They also serve the best garlic knots I have ever eaten. I was expecting Cuban toast with my pork dinner and was surprised with the lighter than air garlic knots that I thought would float off my plate with plenty of fresh chopped garlic that did not over power the rolls. Beer and wine is not on the menu but you can make a donation and have a nice cold beer or a glass of wine with your dinner

This was an odd place. The front room is decorated like an old Western BBQ. The next room (which was closed off when we were there) looks like a bar from the 70's. They have an Italian looking chef statue outside, and their menu is deli sandwiches and a few cuban dishes. Nothing really seemed to fit. The whole place feels a bit old & dark and a little musty. There is a TV mounted in the dining room, which seemed strange & out of place. They offer (advertise) WiFi, but it is s l o w; I switched back to cellular to check in and upload photos. I ordered picadillo with rice and beans. BF ordered pork sandwich and Cuban burger. I tried a bit of the cuban burger & thought it was great. I thought the pork was just ok, and I've had better picadillo pretty much... anywhere. Portions are large. A few reviewers mentioned "5 types of fries"- we were hoping that meant something like sweet potato, yuca, homemade potato chips, etc. We were not offered 5 types, but the choices were garlic fries, cajun fries, regular fries, and maybe something else that I cannot recall. Not 5, though, I was counting ;) Garlic fries were good. Cajun fries were nothing to write home about. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't fantastic. I wouldn't bother to go back. You'll find me at the Mexican place across the street, which is amazing. Service was great, staff was very friendly. Note: They accept cash only. There is an ATM in the restaurant.

The best Cuban we have had and right in the historic district. We almost passed it up because it didn't look open but don't let the dark windows fool you, this was fabulous. Split a sandwich or plan on leftovers as the sandwiches are huge. Watch owner cook your meal to order. We liked our lunch but dinner would have been better so we could be in the dining room where the 1864 bar is located. We WILL be back.

We eat here every time we visit the area, which is multiple times a year, and we have enjoyed every visit. Good specials, great flavors and the hand cut fries are sooooo good. Their Cuban sandwich is a little bit different than I'm used to...I am a Tampa Bay kid...but they're good! More of a pulled type pork than traditionally used, but the flavor profile is on point. Save room for the Hershey's ice cream...it's delicious. Also make sure to peek in the backroom to see a famous bar once frequented by Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders.
